Speaker 1 (00:00):
The US has attacked Bynical his sites inside ran over
the weekend. Marny, my good friend Brian Horitz, he's in
Jerusalem at the moment.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
How are you, Brian, great camp, good to be Thanks
for inviting me back.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
On Some massive things have eventuated in the last couple
of days. Were you aware that Donald Trump was going
to be striking Iran?
Speaker 3 (00:18):
I don't know if Donald Trump was aware.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
A few days ago he seemed very nonchalant, very keeping
it under wraps. He said, the other day, you give
me two weeks to decide and then you know, and
then two days later he bombs them.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
So he kept it.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
Very closely guided secret to himself and his administration and
the inner people, and so we weren't expecting it. But
I was definitely very hopeful for us, and you know,
for the West. I think, So, what's.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
The feeling in Jerusalem at the moment.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
So, yeah, there's still that sense of you know, worry
and fear because there's been a lot of incoming missiles
from your aunt still which has caused you know, damage
to buildings and people. A lot of people have been injured,
about thirteen hundred injuries nationwide.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
We actually had.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
A missile that landed quite close to us, you know,
about eight hundred meters away, and it was like this
massive boom, like on top of our heads. You know,
it's eight hundred meters away, you know, and the place
shook a little bit, so, you know, you know, thank
goodness that you know, it's the closest we came. But
it did hit another building and people were injured and
(01:24):
to evacuate. So the feeling is that worry of incoming missiles,
but on the other hand, a lot of relief that
a good chunk of the Uranian nuclear facilities have been
taken out, you know, which poses a big threat to us,
you know, so the rest of the world.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
So what is the Israeli government saying and how are
they communicating with you.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
There's the Home Front Command on the one hand, which
tells us what level of alert to be on. Now
after last night we went back to the maximum alert.
But they have told me that I can now go
to work tomorrow as a sort of descent, all kind
of a worker.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
So they communicate through.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Their channels, and then the government goes on and they
tell us, you know, the mission was, you know, how
the mission was and if it was successful or what
happened and seems to it seems to have been quite successful.
I mean those American bunker buster bombs that they shot,
you know, extremely potent and it can cause you know
a lot of damage. The Americans or the only country
(02:27):
and all that has them. I think thirty thousand tons
of explosives each each of those bombs, and they get
right in there and you know, and take out anything.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
The final assessments, you know, still to be done.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
What type of retaliation are you expecting in the next
few days.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
So this morning we had a big missile barrage of
about FATI missiles, so we're expecting I think more of
the same. Obviously, we hope it doesn't escalate into some
other form of bombings and things like that, but there
might be some missile strikes on outside of Israel, like
an American basis and naval bases, et cetera. But that
you know, we're going to see how how they're in
(03:06):
resume reacts, and you know, they're a bit like a
wounded animal now, which makes them very dangerous obviously.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
So that's why we.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Are on a high alert, and I think Americans also
in a high alert for their assets.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
In the area and around the world.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
How are you family, Thank goodness.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Yeah, we're getting some good family bonding time in the
safe room once or twice a day.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
We're going in there together holding up.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
Schools are off, so the kids are at home a
little bit bored. Otherwise, you know, spirits are okay. The
war's going in a positive direction and hopefully won't going
too much longer, because the longer it goes on the
heart it will be to keep the mood positive for sure.
I just want to add in one story about the
hospital down south called Soroka Hospital. The night before it
(03:52):
had a direct hit in the night before. The administration
evacuated the whole ward from that exact level to the
sub granian levels underground to much safer space just that
night before. If if they've done it, if they had
not done it, unbelievable. How you know that they got
it there just they did it just in time. Otherwise
it would have been you know, mass casualties over there.
(04:14):
So thank goodness.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Well, our thoughts are with you and your family. Brian,
Thank you so much for joining us once again.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
Thanks so much. It's a pleasure and always good to
talk to you.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
It is Brian, thank you again.
Speaker 3 (04:24):
All right, thanks a lot, mate,
