Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Minister for Transport and Main Roads, Brent Mickelberg, joins us,
good morning morning, thanks for having me. What's latest on
the Mount Crosby Overpass.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Well, I'm really pleased turn out to the community that
Mount Crosby Overpass is now open to traffic both ways,
so both north doown and southbound is open.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
There's still restrictions in place because we've put in place
as much of a load limit and a speed limit
as possible, so it'll be twenty four minutes now speed
limited and load limited is thirty tons. There will still
be traffic control on site, but now people can move
north and south across the overpass.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
And it's a really significant effort from our Transport maina
ads to staff, so engineers, they really work through the
night for a number of nights to try to restore this.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
We've removed the footpath on one side, okay, and we've
changed all the alignments and marketings.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
And what have you, so there's a bit of change there,
but it allows us to get the communities, particularly currently
to civily moving again. I know it's been a massive
impact for them for a number of weeks, so I
really thank God for their patients.

Speaker 5 (00:55):
Initially it could have been quite a significant amount of
time to fix it. So Matte, that is actually wonderful
news to have it done that quickly in order for,
as you said, those communities to at least be getting
traffic flowing. Wonderful news.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
Yeah, it was considerable events obviously that the vehicle hit
the bridge at considerable speed and there has been quite
a bit of damage to the bridge. This has allowed
us to get traffic movie again north and south. There
is still damage to the bridge and it will require
repairs in the longer term, but this has allowed us
to get it back up in operational to the greatest
extent with it that we can in a relatively short

(01:27):
period of time, and we'll continue to work on the more.

Speaker 6 (01:30):
Detailed repairs over time. So it's a good outcome for
the community. There's still more work to do, but I
just want to thank everyone for their patients as we
work through the process.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
All right, thank you, Brent, thank you, thanks a lot
for your time. Minister Transport, Main Roads, Brent Micklburg
