Speaker 1 (00:00):
Big story coming out of Gatton Marney. Tim the tip guy,
was going through all the rubbish out there at the
tip and he found this tin which had some warm
medals in it. Counselor Julie Reck from the Lockey Valley
joins this morning, good morning, good.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Morning Money in Campo. How are we well? Thank you?

Speaker 1 (00:19):
This is just an amazing story Money, Tim who works
at the tip, found these medals which were in the
rubbish stuff. Tell us all about it, Julie.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Absolutely, Look, it would have to be one of the
best stories I think I've ever come across. Tim, very
humble type person operating the heavy machinery, saw this tin,
went down to inspect it, gave it a bit of
a kick and outtopped these medals and the original medals
they weren't even copies. Oh wow, Like it's just so unbelievable.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Yeah wow. And you've returned the medals already to the
rifle owner.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Yet they have been returned to the rightful owner. Yeah,
be careful what you throw away. We've all done something inadvertently,
tossed something in the garbage by mistake.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Yes, can you tell us whose medals they were?

Speaker 2 (01:06):
They belonged to Amy Drysdale's father who had passed away.
Here the original medals. Jose, he now has them bad.
Yeah that's wonderful. Yes, they're back and they're locked in
a safe now so they can't ever because they're in
a tin, you know, just an old tin and you
get thrown out. But yeah, no, did you know they

(01:27):
were missing? Yes, she went looking and we actually had
you rang the council, like any chance that you know,
this could be found, like we're thinking, ye're right, not
not much, Yeah, not likely, but it was. I ensured
that Tim was the one that gave them back to her,
and I can assure you it was at a very
emotional time for all of us present.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
No doubt. Well, thank you, counselor Julie Wreck.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
Thank you, no worries. You have a great day.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
What a great story. Your dad's got medals. I imagine
if he lost them. They means so much to so
many people.
