Speaker 1 (00:00):
Going right around the country with the biggest OSSI hits
at night for Oz Made. It's Maddie Gowden having escaped
this country just a couple of days go back to La.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
We are loving what Keenan lon Style is doing.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
This is an absolute ripper of the trap with gods
of disco.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
God to the disco.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Mate, You're an absolutely god of our silver screen and
killing it over there. Mate, how are you going since
your last chat?

Speaker 3 (00:22):
I'm good. I barely made it out, but you know
I did it. I did it in the end. I
love what you said, the word to escape. I'm doing good.
I'm still I'm still working through the jet lag.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
To be honest, I'm usually pretty good at this, but
I think because as soon as I got into town,
I just went straight into rehearsals and some performances and
kind of like, haven't had a second to catch myself.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
But I'm really good.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
What are you rehearsing for?

Speaker 1 (00:44):
You're rehearsing for a show that's coming up with the
new staff or yeah.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
I went straight in and did a performance for the
LGBT Center in LA.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
I'm shooting a performance for what's called House of Pride
this year.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
It won't be released, but it's it's performance with my
full and and I'm really excited some unly songs in
there and some older song as well.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
And is that some of what we're seeing, like with
this massive production, like all these virtual performances and things,
have they just a little bit of a taste of
what's coming up?

Speaker 4 (01:12):
Yeah, definitely there are tastes like I mean, each time
I get to do it is like I get to
soak in the energy from the band. I feel like
I've become a better musician. We get to sort of
like try a different perspective of what these songs can
can sound like and can.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
Look like visually. So it's just fun for me really,
And that's little stressful, but mostly.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
Yeah, it would be.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
It would be. I could see even like the photo
shoots look stressful to me.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
I mean, what all elaborate, like the lighting, even how
it's like poised with the text. Man, it looks absolutely sick.
How long does something like that take.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
To get together?

Speaker 3 (01:45):
You mean for the cover art? Yeah? That was Tom.
He's another Ouzzy.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
Actually we both met over here pretty much when I
got there, you know, the lighting's already set up. We
found the two other they're actually dancers that are in
the picture as well. The whole team was just like
like a breeze was just go in.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
The plan was.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
Already set and we had worked I guess for maybe
a week in preparation, just going back and forth on
calls and texts and sending some visual references and you know,
going into that disco era and then that's what came
of it.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
I was just I was amazing, And I got to
see the photo. I think that's my favorite cover art
of that.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Yeah, it's like editorial as you could open up some
kind of Vogue or you know, in a high class
fashion magazine and see.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Something like that and that's wicked.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Thanks, But what else?

Speaker 2 (02:28):
What else is inspiring you? What's going on up there?
Having just got that to.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
La, I actually have a brother of mine.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
He's a musician too, is in a band called Project Peters,
and we're performing together.

Speaker 3 (02:38):
So that's really cool. So the first time we'll ever
perform together.

Speaker 4 (02:41):
I get to see a little preview of a movie
I did last year, so I get to watch that
in like a week that'll come out later this year.

Speaker 3 (02:49):
That's that's called My Fake Boyfriend. So super excited.

Speaker 4 (02:52):
About that, and then outside of that, I'm working on
my second album, So it's kind of like a strange
but awesome time to sort of dive into myself and
take a bunch of different inspiration from back home in
Australia and then over here and and soak it in
and just keep writing and keep developing.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
With that inspiration too. Like what took you into the Discuy?

Speaker 3 (03:14):
The disco felt like I didn't really have a choice.
It just kind of was.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
It.

Speaker 4 (03:19):
Really, it really came from the need to dance. Like,
you know, I'm a dancer originally, but I got to
the point where I felt like, you know, we weren't
able to obviously go out, we weren't able to connect
as much with people. I think a lot of us
are really good at carrying that, and you know, the
best way to heal from that, I think is through
music to dance. Yeah, so I think that's what disco

(03:40):
was born, born out of in many ways of healing.
So yeah, that's really where where the song came from.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
A man, We're gonna have a little bit of a
dance now because we're actually going to play your brand
new one here on us may Mate. It's always so
great to see you, guys of the disc Would you
like to introduce it for me?

Speaker 4 (03:57):
Yeah, you're listening to OZ made as keenan on Zell
and this is my new single. Gods of the Disco
enjoy it as much as I do.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
Thank you.
