Speaker 1 (00:01):
There's one picture with no context and two comedians with
no clue. This is Picture Discuss. In this episode, a
man and a woman at a train station are wearing
some kind of bubble helmets on their head. Can Tom
Walker and Laura Hughes tell us why the troop will
be revealed at the end of the episode. Now here's

(00:24):
your host, Merrick Wits.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Hi there and welcome to Picture Discuss. This is a

Tom Walker, welcome, Thank you, thank you.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
What are we looking at? Hill or what is this?

Speaker 4 (00:46):
We are looking at two people at a train station
named Wedding and they have plastic bubble helmets, is how
I would describe it.

Speaker 5 (00:57):
Yeah, there are apps.

Speaker 6 (00:58):
I would say they're enclosed in an orb but that's
because threatening energy and so I'm much much I'm predisposed
to words like all.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Well, my first question is are we looking at actual
humans or these visitors from another planet?

Speaker 7 (01:14):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (01:14):
Because I think this is the form that like if
we just beam the matrix out into the universe and
someone catches that and is like oh, and Alien's like, oh,
this is what they think is cool. This is what
these two like, Hey, we saw you across the cyberpunk
bar and we love your energy. Can we buy you
a drink? This couple looking for a third like they

(01:34):
are intoxicating to me.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Yeah, it's like, like you said, I beaming out images
if it went out into the universe. They said, like
aliens only had two reference points, which was men in Black,
which is about Aliens, yes, and also to the matrix,
which is kind of about aliens as well. They're just
like with no other brief here. They come to it
with a couple of heads and they've nailed it.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
Third one fashion Week. What I feel like is the
third thing they've seen. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:56):
Absolutely, they're very, very fashion forward people. Yeah, and this
is going to reflect badly me. But the two things
this reminds me of is Aliens and Europeans because they
have this effortless cool about them. The way they're looking
at you makes me feel I don't know about you, guys,
but it makes me feel like I should also be
wearing an orb Yeah, and it makes me feel like
I've turned up to a party without the dress code.

Speaker 4 (02:17):
Yeah, I've ordered one, so I'm ready to be getting yours.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
I actually feel like like a lesser person. I feel
a bit shit. Is like a contributor to the planets,
absolute shit, and I have for years, and it's.

Speaker 5 (02:29):
So good to finally work out why I gat this orbit.

Speaker 7 (02:32):
It's gonna turn my life around. She's up. Till now,
I've been like miserable.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
And now this every day is And now the ORB.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
You Laura question, out of these two individuals, who is
currently giving the least amount of fucks the woman?

Speaker 4 (02:53):
Yeah, she doesn't. She's not even looking at the camera. No,
she's looking beyond it.

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
I would not be surprised if they took off those
glasses and there was, in fact, no ice.

Speaker 3 (03:05):
It's just like.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Holes and we just go, oh, I see why you
wear glasses because you're terrifying.

Speaker 7 (03:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (03:11):
After the ORB pretty much anything makes sense. But like
any any kind of sartorial decision they've made is going
to be like the ORB is the headline. But even then,
it's like the their fashion is so incredible that I've
already forgotten about the ORB by the time I'm looking
at the guy's coat and being like I could pull
that on.

Speaker 3 (03:28):
Okay, well, let's talk about Laurie.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
I don't know how much you adore fashion, but I'm
from the guy. I'm just getting some really strong third
rock vibes from that, a real army vibes.

Speaker 4 (03:40):
I also thought when I first looked at them, I
was like, they're chastity orbs, and they've got some over
their genitals as well. Oh yeah, so I can't see
we can't see the other half, all right, okay on
the inside, and that to be safe, yeah, you have.

Speaker 3 (03:56):
To make it safe.

Speaker 6 (03:59):
I think it's something something dangerous has happened to indulge
the safety. The woman has an orbit if it's to scale.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
She's got a She appears to be wearing a kimono
as well. That looks like I think a kimono. They're
rocking a little bit of East meets West, there, aren't they.

Speaker 6 (04:18):
It's certainly giving alternate future. I don't think this is
something that would anticipate someone wearing in the year of
Our Lord twenty twenty three unless something. Look, I'm just
going to say, a certain conflict resolved a different.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
Way, like a multiverse kind of vibe. It's like it's
a different present.

Speaker 5 (04:35):
Yeah, I mean they look great.

Speaker 6 (04:38):
Maybe not the thing I want to say after saying
this is what would happened if.

Speaker 5 (04:42):
Also didn't appreciate.

Speaker 6 (04:43):
I got it, got a backtrack here, I also don't
appreciate it, saying that I like the jacket America immediately
jumping in with it's a bit third Reichi, isn't it right?

Speaker 7 (04:52):
Man?

Speaker 3 (04:54):
So imperialistic Japan and the Third Reich.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
It's a good looking thing, you believe, don't's.

Speaker 4 (05:01):
A big fan?

Speaker 6 (05:02):
He recorded about the Nazis. The graphic design department had
it on lock.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Okay, I mean they look they certainly had design.

Speaker 6 (05:10):
But I can't emphasize this enough to say what you
will about them. Myself not a fan.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Yeah, okay, and I'm with you on that, but I
wasn't going to bring it up. But to also to also,
I am not a fan as well.

Speaker 4 (05:22):
I am a huge fit.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
So is this maybe like some sort of reconciliation thing,
like maybe Italy is just off to the side, And
also you know there's an Italian person with a bubble
on their head as well that we just can't see.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
Yeah, they're taking the photo some one's going to take
the photo.

Speaker 6 (05:44):
There's a big curly mustache the chef's hat pressed into
the bubble just behind the camera.

Speaker 7 (05:49):
I think we could.

Speaker 6 (05:50):
I mean the fact that the train station is called
Wedding and as far as I can tell from that
big B which I understand to mean an S in
the background that I think that means this is probably German.
So could this be a union of these two people
and they're deciding to start the rest of their life
with a respectful distance.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
Well, they rocked up to the train station and they're like, yeah,
this is a pretty good venue.

Speaker 3 (06:13):
Let's just I.

Speaker 5 (06:14):
Mean that's the name. I mean there is pretty easy.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
So let's talk about we'll come back to the sign
because I've got no you know what, I'm not going
to come back on a certain Now above her head
is the wood Nickelbeck plats. Now there's anybody just automatically
panic when they hear nettle Back plats, like it could
be where Nickelback come from? Like that was the first thing?
Is that a place where Nickelback comes from? Like they've

(06:39):
named it after Nickelback.

Speaker 6 (06:41):
I feel like I know too much about Nickelback to
have a panic about running into them because I know
where they are at all pretty much all moments of
the day.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
Chad Kroger is a great.

Speaker 5 (06:50):
Guy, native Canadian.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
You know, to find more offensive earlier, more crimes against music.

Speaker 6 (07:00):
A photograph hits like, we gave him a lot of
crap back in the day. But you find me a
single venue that if you jam photograph or like a
hero the onto the orcs cord, it doesn't go off
this room.

Speaker 3 (07:14):
That's the venue.

Speaker 7 (07:15):
I would be going crazy enough.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
For all of us.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
I just love that. Like the first half of you
were like almost pro Nazi, but this is what you're
going to get canceled for. There were a.

Speaker 5 (07:25):
Band, that's the reason they were around for so long.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
We you have to edit that part out, whereasaid Nickelback's
a good band, bleep that or cut that out.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
We do not want that going out on the incident.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
Okay, let's talk about what possible use these bubble helmets
could have.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
Smelling your breath, Yeah, breath check.

Speaker 6 (07:47):
That's really good because traditionally the way to check your
breath is to cut the hand breathe onto it.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
But there's something heaps of gaps in the hand.

Speaker 6 (07:55):
There's heaps of gaps, and also it doesn't account for
a possible smelly hand.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
You thought about. There's a lot.

Speaker 6 (08:01):
I love that I got some bad smells, Laura. Let
me tell you, I'm a stinky guy.

Speaker 4 (08:08):
I haven't gotting right next to you.

Speaker 6 (08:12):
Yeah, she moved her chair before we started recording. Yeah,
I reckon, you're onto it there. These definitely contain a
smell to me. Or potentially could this be like the
high tech European answer to the ice cream container with
the zip ties through it, you know, for Ansy Magpie measures.

Speaker 5 (08:34):
The number of times a helmet to me like I
am an.

Speaker 6 (08:39):
I'm a pretty normal guy.

Speaker 7 (08:44):
You're definitely considered normally.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
That's what people say.

Speaker 7 (08:49):
That's the word on the street.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
Anyway.

Speaker 6 (08:53):
I think if you know a bird seas he coming
down the street wearing one of these, it won't understand
it's gonna slam into that thing.

Speaker 5 (08:59):
You're going to be left laughing.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
I'd never consider that.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
It's like could be a magpipe protection device, yeah, and
actually prevent something from like getting in.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
So maybe that's what it is.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
It's not about necessarily because I thought maybe it's like
as a steaming device for your skin, like a beauty
therapy treatment thing. I thought that might be it, you know,
like you steam you skin, particularly, you know, if it's
in Europe and it's in a cooler area, you know,
maybe you could get it, could intensify the sunlight and
give you more exposure to vitamin D.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
And then I went, No, that's a fucking stupid that's
so dumb.

Speaker 5 (09:29):
And then I started to do that.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
You find another way.

Speaker 6 (09:31):
You got a fucking stupid America, a stupid piece of ship.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
Anyway, that's all I ended up here.

Speaker 6 (09:38):
That's not good man, that's cool, that's I get it.

Speaker 7 (09:42):
I get it. I was thinking that pretty stupid.

Speaker 6 (09:43):
As you were saying, maybe this is to simulate that
being at a nightclub.

Speaker 5 (09:50):
So you can actually finally have that.

Speaker 6 (09:52):
I'm gonna go stand by the sign in my brown jacket.

Speaker 7 (09:56):
I'm going to stand by the sign.

Speaker 6 (09:58):
What sign are you interest?

Speaker 3 (10:03):
Knowing exactly what this picture is about.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
I need to know.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
Those were some interesting theories. The true origin of this
picture is coming up.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
This is the ice sphere, a bubble like device created
as a possible answer to stopping COVID.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
I didn't people just lose it. They did mind.

Speaker 6 (10:29):
We had the world's last ideas during coronavirus.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
This is this is too transparent, hollow hemispheres that are
taped together with a hole that fits the head.

Speaker 5 (10:41):
Oh yeah, that's how the head gets in there.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
Yeah, they usually take them together the creators plus Stic Fantastic.
Oh yeah, who are two artists living in Berlin?

Speaker 4 (10:51):
I love, I'm not cure.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Who would have thought that these who could possibly be
artists from Berlin?

Speaker 3 (10:57):
We would never we would never have come to that collusion.

Speaker 5 (11:00):
No, we could have been here for like a year.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
I don't think we're going to get there.

Speaker 6 (11:08):
You look, these two immaculately cli artists from Berlin.

Speaker 7 (11:13):
No are there even any artists in Berlin? But they
have kind of like a cold affect.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
No, I looked at it. I went, they're clearly minus
from Calgooli.

Speaker 2 (11:28):
Reckon on their way to work, on the way to work,
and they just want to keep the dust out of
their faces. And this is their non high vis leisure
where But that's not actually the case.

Speaker 7 (11:37):
This is pretty high viz.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
Plastic Fund, Plastic Fund, Plastic Fantastic recommend the added attachments
that you can have, So.

Speaker 5 (11:46):
These are selling merible.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
You ready, is it terrible? We'll see Tom, I'm already
buying it a sunshade. I mean you have had that
on the original, like a little bag as I say,
we've vetted car additional features wheels, yeah, yeah, okay, a
mirrored layer so you can have like, you know, pervy glasses.

(12:09):
You know, like you could have like a two way
mirror looking out so people can't see you, but you
can see out.

Speaker 6 (12:15):
To immediately become the most arrested man alive or.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
The most popular person in Berlin.

Speaker 7 (12:21):
Yeah, no, you're right, pervert.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
The last one is this is an addition you can
buy for these bubble how much during COVID took two
German artists to come up with this.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
You can even add.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
A snorkel, a snorkel because you could go swimming with that.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
On the water acts as the bubble.

Speaker 2 (12:44):
If it also like, how many people globally got COVID
from swimming in the fucking ocean?

Speaker 3 (12:50):
Yeah, I feel like.

Speaker 6 (12:51):
It was numbah dunk in my head underwater and hearing
a fish sneeze and going no no, no, no, no no
no no not today. Then bad feeling about this the
official already back in school, there was too early for
them to get there.

Speaker 4 (13:05):
They definitely thought of this when they were high, Like
this is a stoned idea. They're like yeah, and then
speaker and then a snorkel like yes, it's so insane.

Speaker 6 (13:16):
Yeah, the worst ideas ever are made up by the
by like stone teens in a shed, or by these
guys after exactly one shot of espresso, like this is incredible.
This is worse than the mask that will i Am
made for COVID. He made a customizable mask with LEDs

(13:36):
as part of it, and then he had to admit
that it didn't block COVID.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
Is that like when Pete Evans the ship had a
lamp that could kill COVID and was actually just for reading.

Speaker 5 (13:50):
You got to educate yourself.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Laura Tom, thank you so much for discussing this picture
so accurate and so brilliantly. I'll let you guys get
back to the Richstark Well.

Speaker 5 (14:04):
I'll be going back to Camperdown, Sydney off winter.

Speaker 2 (14:08):
Then all right, if you've enjoyed picture discussed, then you
can leave a five star review. Four is all right too,
though I don't reckon it has to always be five
