You're listening to the Robin and Kid podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
A while ago we were doing confessions for cash, and
on the back of someone else's confession, we had Lucy
contact the show looking for our help, more specifically the
help of our PI.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
Dave Yeah, to find her biological dad. It turned in
to about two weeks of us twists and turns and
discovered that there were two potential candidates who were brothers
in Perth. Not a huge amount of support from her
mum either, who she actually lives with. And I have
been dying to find out where Lucy is out and

(00:40):
what has happened. Hey Lucy, Hey, so tell us what's
unfolded from the beginning since we last spoke to you.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
I still haven't spoken to the dad, but I have
been in contact with the half siblings.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
They gave me everything I needed to know, every medical
history I needed to know. I've got it all.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
So the man who is your biological father has how
many kids other than you?

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Four?

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Four other kids?

Speaker 4 (01:10):
Wow?

Speaker 3 (01:11):
So did you contact them through Facebook? How did you
do it Facebook? And what was their response to you
when you said it?

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Well?

Speaker 4 (01:18):
Actually, tell me what did you say?

Speaker 1 (01:20):
I was just honest. I was like, I don't think
you know me, but this happened in nineteen ninety two,
and the first response I got from all of them
was we know who you are. Oh wow, I'm talk
of the families. So yeah, I'm not sure if when
I spoke to the uncle he's gotten in touch with
them more. I'm not sure, but yeah, they all know

(01:41):
who I am and everything.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Okay, Then what.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
They were able to give me everything that I asked for?
So I you know, I said, I have three kids,
So I spoke to the one board in nineteen ninety
two who's nine and a half months older than me,
and yeah, she told me all the medical history that
I needed to know, Like she went very into detail.
So I've got everything I need to know to help
support me and the kids in the future when medical
things arise.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
Okay, So all of this part of your motivation was
that you have a child who is deaf. Has that
now become clearer as to why?

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Nope?

Speaker 4 (02:16):
Oh wow?

Speaker 3 (02:17):
So why is it that your biological dad and the
father of these other children who were talking to you
on Facebook hasn't spoken to you yet.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
I'm not entirely sure. I don't think it's like I
know they're still married, but I'm not sure that they're
happy at the moment. I think there's a bit going
on there. The sisters really wouldn't go into detail, but
she did say like it's.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
A mess when we spoke to you last. We chatted
to your mum as well.

Speaker 4 (02:43):
She's not been overly forthcoming.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
I know how things going there. Have you been able
to have an open conversation now?

Speaker 1 (02:50):
No, it's not a conversation that has been brought up
since she was on the radio. She doesn't actually know
that I've spoken to them. She knows nothing. And easier
that way, Yeah, I think it's easier that way because
it just it's a lot of drama. Like she doesn't
like drama.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
Lucy, you are like a fox terrier and I so
admire the tenacity that is taken from you to actually
get this far.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
How are you feeling in yourself?

Speaker 1 (03:19):
I'm really good now that I have answered when I
said from the start, like I just needed medical records.
I've got that. So I achieved what I set out
to achieve.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
Will you knock on his door.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
That's still undeciding? I don't know how. I don't even
know the word. I don't know how what I'd be
walking into with them at the moment. You know, thirty
one years of a lie is quite a long time,
so I'm not sure if it would have been better
for him to be honest thirty one years ago or

(03:56):
them finding out.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
Now? What do you want from him now?

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Honestly, if I get nothing from him, that's okay. But
we all know the truth. And I've still got the
man who raised me for thirty one years and I
can't wait to see him in two weeks.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Yeah, that's right because he lives in wa two hey,
so you mostly going to visit him, and we're.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
Taking the three kids. My youngest saw him last year.
We do a yearly trip, but this year we're taking
the two older ones who haven't seen him for about
five years.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
Mate, Has it been worth it?

Speaker 1 (04:30):
I still wish I'd never found out, but yes, because
it's actually made me and my dad a lot stronger.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
And kind of changed your relationship with your mother.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
We've always had an up and down relationship, like it's
never been perfect. So yes, and no, she's still the
same person that she always will be.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
But I hope you get to meet your half siblings.
I feel like you've earned it. You know, I'm guessing
that if he your biological father, won't even talk to
you on Facebook, the chances of meeting him face to
face a pretty slim. But you really have shown that
you're not trying to destroy people. You're just trying to

(05:17):
find answers to something that is way above your control. Yep,
good luck mate, Thank you well, thank.
