Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's Robin and Keith for Breakfast, Break by Break.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
You're listening to the Robin Kick podcast.
Speaker 3 (00:11):
Great Body, Great, Good Day.
Speaker 4 (00:15):
It's Robin and Kip the podcast. Can we talk about
the new season of the Crowd at halftime?
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Right?
Speaker 1 (00:20):
Yeah, we definitely can.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
I loved it. It's in two parts. I've seen the
first of the first parts. I've seen the first full episode, okay,
and so.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Yeah, we're waiting for the rest to drop in December.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
There's some stuff in this that is kind of unique, yeah,
that they didn't do in the last runs. And I've
got a bit of a theory around that.
Speaker 4 (00:37):
All right, let's do it at halftime.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
You're listening to the Robin and Kid podcast. Robin and
Full Disclosure Exposure Forgive Me Father, for I have sinned.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
You know, it's a good topic when throughout the day
the texts keep coming through because people want to talk
about it.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
So many people got engaged with We heard this story
just after seven essay.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
It's full on.
Speaker 5 (01:04):
So I've been seeing this girl for around three months.
I've been up front from our first date. I don't
want kids. I even ended my other relationship over the
whole kids thing. She's had a history of endo and
never taken the contraceptive phil because of this, But after
one month of being together, she felt pregnant and she
wants to keep it. She thinks this might be her
only chance. I'm so torn. I don't want kids, but
(01:25):
I feel like I'll be called an asshole if I
don't stick around. What if I just give her a
lump sum of money? Does that make me a better person?
Speaker 4 (01:32):
So plenty of calls came through, twenty of opinions either way,
texts as well, and over ow nine ninety seven three
nine seven three.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
Kip and I disagreed, and if you want to hear
exactly what went down, then please.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Go to our podcast.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
But we have received a call from a woman who
is currently sitting in the car park of the Royal
Children's Hospital with her baby, and she has a lot
to say on this matter.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
Because something similar happened to her. Clarissa, I've g then
you want to comment on this.
Speaker 6 (02:02):
I felt pregnant with someone actually knew in high school
and a few weeks after we started dating, I re
met his mama and she was a bit crazy. He
decided he didn't want to tell her that we were
pregnant and decided he wanted to completely give up his
frametal rights and have nothing to do with my child.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
Were you still high school age?
Speaker 1 (02:22):
No?
Speaker 6 (02:22):
No, no, this was only January this year.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
Oh wow.
Speaker 6 (02:27):
I had a full percental abruption in August and was
rushed to an emergency c section where my son was
still born. Sorry, and they worked on him for twenty
six minutes and brought him back to me. Then when
they got him back, I was taken by lives and
(02:47):
sirens to rwh theonadal unit was absolutely incredible that I
see you, and they kept most son alive. He has
brain damage and they don't know exactly what it's going
to do to affect him, but his most beautiful baby.
I truly believe if I was still with him that
(03:10):
he would have walked. There is no way you can
sit in a nick you for twelve weeks with someone
telling me that your child is going to die at
any minutes, and then if they make it out that
they'll have cerebral palsy, have been a wheelchair and not
even be able to see you or anything like that.
I believe with parents, if you're going to walk, if
(03:30):
you don't really want to be there. Just do it early,
because I don't think I could have coped with him
walking out while I was also dealing with my child's life.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Clarissa, is this your only child?
Speaker 6 (03:42):
Yes? And I had cancer when I was sixteen, and
they took my right ovary and a tumor that was
twenty three centimeters in diameter, and they told me I
would never have kids. That he knew, and he was
trying to convince me to terminate so that we could
stay together and try again later. But I was told
which shouldn't be able to have children, Clarissa.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
So when you're explaining about your baby, he's still in Nikou.
Speaker 6 (04:07):
No, he's finally home. The wonderful people at Prince Charles Hospital,
they gave him the opportunity to thrive. He was able
to come home without a NASER gastric tube, and they
expected me to still be in hospital until January. We
got home without a NASA gastric tube. He's fully bottled feeding.
He was actually dying every two hours. His heart rate
(04:30):
would drop to thirty and his oxygen would drop to
thirty because he had reflux. And it took ages for
them to figure it out, and eventually all they needed
to do was add some piper to his milk. And
now he's sitting in the back of the car with
me at the Queensland Children's Hospital just to sleep. Just
a beautiful little boy.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
And is he going to be able to walk? Is
he going to be able to do those things?
Speaker 6 (04:54):
As time goes on, we won't know for sure. He
had his audiology test yesterday. He passed through out four decibels.
He may have some permanent hearing loss which may affect
his speech as well. At the moment, he is moving
like a neurotypical baby, but that will depend on what
happens as he gets older. He had a Grade two
(05:14):
bleed which filled the ventricles with his final fluid and
his head started to look like an alien. But luckily
it started draining itself, so he didn't need a hunt
or anything like that. I know how lucky my child
is to be here, and he will know that for
the rest of his life. But no parents should have
to go through what I went through. And the weirdest
(05:35):
thing is the two twins that were in the nicku
next to us turned out to be his father's cousins,
so he has some family now.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
Clarissa is coming into Christmas. Is there anything you need?
Is there anything anyone can do for you? You're quite
an extraordinary human and now's the time forgiving and loving,
and clearly your love is keeping that kid gone.
Speaker 6 (05:58):
In all honesty. Want to do something for my mum.
I'm not sure what, but she was there for me.
I'm my entire time in hospital and I was talking
to her and my family about having to end my
child's life because we just weren't sure if he was
going to make it. I would love to do something
(06:19):
for her. I just don't know what.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
Okay, Well leave it with us, because if we can
help you, just to make Christmas a little bit easier
because you do have a long road ahead and you
are so courageous, mate.
Speaker 6 (06:32):
Thank you so much. Yeah, let me appreciate that.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
Yeah, let us have a talk to our people and
see if we can do something nice for you, because
that's what Christmas is all about.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
Mate.
Speaker 6 (06:41):
I really appreciate that, and I'll be happy to text
you guys a photo of my gordeous little boy. Ever,
he's beautiful, so yeah, can we share that please? Absolutely?
Speaker 1 (06:52):
And what's his name?
Speaker 6 (06:53):
William? He's actually named after my grandfather actor. He is,
he's here and he's beautiful.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
And you're me. Thank you so much, mate.
Speaker 6 (07:02):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
We can do something cool for these people. We can
do something nice for a complete stranger who's don it tough.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
If you want to, if you want to be involved
with that, thirty one oh sixty five is our number.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
Yeah, let's do something Christmas. Make someone feel good.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
Incredible story.
Speaker 3 (07:17):
Clarissa, Go, you, babe, go into your appointment in the
Royal Children's Hospital with your beautiful boy William.
Speaker 4 (07:22):
It's Robin and Kip Kiss. He's ninety seven to three
the Robin and Chip Podcast. It's an amazing call from Clarissa,
who was in the car park at the time. I
was still there at the Royal Brusban Children's Hospital. Told
us an amazing story about her little bub and some
of the trials that she's been going through. But everyone's
(07:43):
everyone's looking good at the moment and healthy and well.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
And I I just want to honor a mum.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
You know that sometimes these calls come in and you
just think, Okay, let's make this a really positive experience.
We're coming into Christmas. You know, we can make people
feel better about their world and she's doing it tough.
We're just we're just looking our PIPSA are talking to
her and seeing if there's some stuff that that she
needs that we could help her with. Karen of Woody Point,
what would you like to say?
Speaker 7 (08:11):
Oh? I just wanted to say to her to not
believe and.
Speaker 4 (08:19):
Terrible lye Karen, are you able to get closer to
your phone? Are you on speaker or something?
Speaker 8 (08:24):
I'm going to.
Speaker 9 (08:27):
Okay, sure, I love it.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
What would you like to say?
Speaker 7 (08:31):
Well, I just wanted to tell her therapy, keep going,
keep trying. Don't give us why I thought there was
no verbal to five on half. She didn't have she
didn't she didn't have nothing.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
And now she's gone here here, there you go. Well done, Karen.
I know it's really emotional for you.
Speaker 3 (08:57):
I've also had a message from Rose Rose with Stefan yeah,
and she's saying bring her in, let's do some pamperings.
So people are being super kind. The phone's absolutely going nuts.
Speaker 4 (09:07):
I'm just looking down our phone. We've got Estafer from Sheldon,
Patty from Augustine Heights, Jonathan from the Gap, Nansen from
the rang By, all these people calling through with offers,
so we are going to put together something and see
what we can do to help out Clarissa.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Yeah, do it for Christmas sake.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
Wake up with Robin and.
Speaker 4 (09:23):
Kit As we're moving at the festive season. This is
when there's extra parties on parties for everyone.
Speaker 3 (09:31):
Are you trying to you know, like get this is
a community service announcement.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
We're going to teach you how to smoke form.
Speaker 9 (09:37):
Yes, if you want.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
To get out of something. So what is it?
Speaker 9 (09:40):
Well, what are you doing? Well, I'm not telling you that.
Speaker 3 (09:44):
Kim's got a really busy weekend and he knows that
everyone that is involved in this really busy weekend listens
to the show, so he doesn't want to offriend. So
there's potentially five or six people listening.
Speaker 1 (09:55):
Is this mat?
Speaker 4 (09:57):
I've got a lot of things on One of the
things I've I've got to have a plan to get
out time and know that, you know, because we've got
to get your rest up for the other things like
for example, you know we were talking about without what
the flip competition where we're giving away tickets to the movies.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
We do it.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
It's Christmas themed. Yesterday's movie was a movie called Four Christmases. Yeah,
starring Vince Vaughn and Ruce Wetherspoon. They have to have
a plan when they have, you know, their family Christmas.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
One of these houses gets a little too intense.
Speaker 7 (10:26):
I think we're going to need an exit strategy, so
like we're going to need a word.
Speaker 5 (10:29):
That both of us know that means it's time to leave.
So what do you think I say for?
Speaker 3 (10:32):
It should be.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Mistletoe is really good.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
So they say mistletoe and someone leaves and.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
That means, okay, we've got to get out of here.
Speaker 1 (10:41):
You must be a good liar. I'm such a crappy liar.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
Yeah, so I can't I can't ever create a scenario
because I overtalk right, and anyone who knows me is
just going you are live. Yeah, you know, like I've
got to get home because the boys need me, or
I just make the most ridiculous make the most ridiculous, elaborate.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Yeah, it doesn't make.
Speaker 4 (11:03):
Any too many details.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
That's too many details.
Speaker 4 (11:05):
You got to keep it like, oh, yeah, the dog's
not well. You don't go into the lesions.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
And the dog was really unwell, because then I do
this whole thing where I go, well, what would happen
if one of my dogs were sick, I would probably
just check them.
Speaker 4 (11:16):
You're overthinking.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
Think it so badly.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Molly out of the Switch has got some advice thirty
one o six fives out number.
Speaker 9 (11:23):
Hey Molly, hell, how are you going good?
Speaker 4 (11:25):
What happens with you?
Speaker 10 (11:27):
Well, to get out of it prematurely. If I if
I have a few days notice, I'll usually message and
be like, oh, how to cough the last couple of days,
So I'll just see how I'm going. Yeah, And look,
it's not if I get all better, I'll see there.
Speaker 4 (11:44):
But so you avoidated, you avoid going all together, you're
already giving completely. And what about if you are there,
what about that scenario that you're in the room, you're
at the party, and you've got to get out.
Speaker 10 (11:55):
Well, what I've found because I had surgery earlier this year,
I I have actually found that it's really okay for
people to just go, oh, I'm so sorry. I'm just
in a little bit of pain because I had surgery
like recently. I'll just say recently, because who cares if
it was at the start of the year, I've had
(12:16):
surgery recently.
Speaker 6 (12:18):
You know, no one questions it.
Speaker 4 (12:22):
You're in trouble in twenty twenty four, because then it's
going to be that was last year, Molly.
Speaker 10 (12:26):
Do you know, Molly, I may say recently, I made.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
The mistake of saying that I had I'd recently had
a crown done on my teeth, like you know, I'd
had all these problems, and I got this crund. The
problem was that the person had seen me like twenty
minutes previously, chomping down burger like this really crispy bread
on the outside. She goes, ah, right, so yeah, you're like, no, no,
(12:53):
that's what hurt it, right, such.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
A bad life.
Speaker 4 (12:57):
Let's give Let's give Molly two hundred dollars to spend
it at Soak bath House for you. Molly.
Speaker 10 (13:02):
Oh, you're amazing.
Speaker 6 (13:03):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 4 (13:04):
Guys, recharge this spring at Soak bath House book or
buy gift cards online right now at soakbath House dot
com dot are you from as little as forty nine dollars?
Speaker 1 (13:12):
Can't you just tell your parents you don't want to go?
Speaker 4 (13:15):
It's not my parents. That was very good, That was
very good.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
It's because I know you've got something with's birthday, your
dad's dad's birthday this week.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
Can you just say sorry, Dada?
Speaker 4 (13:25):
It's not that, I promise.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
I'm actually seeing Kip on Saturday.
Speaker 9 (13:28):
So I'm thinking it's it's not.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
Your you're listening to the Robin and Kid podcast.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
Okay, this is a question without notice for you, Kip Whiteman.
And it came out of our All Night Day Keeps
Gone Wild last Thursday night into Friday. And I was
sitting next to Howie who was one of our wonderful
listeners who was invited, and he brought his daughter, Yes,
and Howard was how He was telling me that he
has two daughters and a wife and a dog.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
And I said, oh, it's great, you know you party
with your daughter.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
And he said, well, I'm at the lowest in the
pecking order.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
And I went, oh, that's interesting. So my question to you.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
Is where are you in the pecking order of your family?
So we've got you, We've got Rafi, We've got Naomi. Yes,
And once you've answered that, I want you to answer
where you are in the family of Paul and Sylvia,
your mom and dad, yeah, and your brother and sisters.
Speaker 4 (14:25):
In the pecking order.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
At home?
Speaker 4 (14:29):
At home, I think I am I think, oh gee,
I might be at the I might be the lowest.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
I haven't thought, are you joking?
Speaker 3 (14:38):
I would say that you at the top of the
pecking order. You dictate everything in your family with RAFFI
in Naomi. You cannot tell me you're at the bottom.
Speaker 4 (14:45):
I think I know. Well, no, yeah, because I think
about you know, like whenever we have to make decisions
about you know, I can come up with ideas, but
I don't get to put the call on it, like
I have to go, hey, shall we go here this weekend?
And I'll ask Naomi, and then I guess we kind
of ask raf even though we're going to do it anyway.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
Okay, so if the things you say, can we go here?
How many times? Is the answer?
Speaker 4 (15:11):
No, it's very rare.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
Okay, you are at the top of the pegging order. Oh,
my good names you are. Okay, Ruthie our executive producer.
Is he not at the top of the pecking order?
Speaker 3 (15:24):
With everything we know about this man is slightly delusional?
Speaker 4 (15:30):
You're at the top.
Speaker 9 (15:31):
I'm at the top.
Speaker 3 (15:33):
You're at the top partly because you have the most
beautiful girlfriend, Naomi, who does whatever you want and she
deserves a medal.
Speaker 9 (15:40):
But I always ask the question decide, Oh.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
You're a magnanimous dictator.
Speaker 9 (15:44):
Then are you all right?
Speaker 1 (15:50):
Okay, family, let's go with Sylvia.
Speaker 3 (15:54):
Yeah, your parents, and then your elder sister and your
younger brother. Okay, you are a middle child that probably
is going to be taken into account with your answer.
Speaker 4 (16:04):
Actually, you know what, I think? I am actually top
of the pecking order there. Oh really yeah, I make
family decisions for everyone. Ye yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
I thought you were going to play the middle child card, which.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
Is no, I do. I have to go. I have
to be the voice of reason because otherwise, Dany between
the others, they're all arguing. No one knows what to do.
Dad's trying to Dad's trying to make everyone happy. Someone
has to step in and go, right, this is what
we're doing, guys.
Speaker 3 (16:31):
Final question, Yes, where are you in the pecking order
of this breakfast show?
Speaker 8 (16:38):
Here?
Speaker 5 (16:38):
You can hear.
Speaker 4 (16:39):
Laughter through the soundproof glass because they know that that's
a load of question. I I God, it's sad.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
It's stalling, white man, I'm at the top, all right.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
The Robins and podcast.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
This is interesting.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
Channing Tatum and Zoe Kravitz have been happily engaged for
about two years, and they're getting ready for their wedding.
I mean, two of the most beautiful people. And Channing
Tatum is definitely an A lister when it comes to Hollywood.
But Lenny Kravitz, so his dad is not happy about
the engagement, and he's really concerned that Zoe will not
cope with the pressure that comes from dating an A lister.
(17:31):
Now he has some form here because after Nicole Kidman
broke up with Tom Cruise, he dated Nicole Kidman and
broke up with her because he couldn't handle being seen
with an A lister where the paparazzi followed.
Speaker 4 (17:44):
You wow, okay, because I would have thought he, you know,
with his life, I mean he was rock and roll.
You would have thought he was kind of used to it.
Speaker 1 (17:50):
Where do you see Lenny Kravitz anywhere?
Speaker 3 (17:52):
Like, even though he was in the Hunger Games and
he's done all these amazing things with his career, It's
like Jodie Foster, like they're extraordinary, but they're really private people. Yeah, okay,
And he's just saying, I just don't think you're going
to be able to do that with Channing Tatum. Be warned,
this is interesting too. Hugh Jackman and wife Debra Leef
and Ess. We're all a bit devastated when we heard
that they were divorcing, but they've now made that shock
(18:14):
move of unfollowing each.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
Other on social media.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
A lot of you know, the international media is speculating
as to why that is. For me personally, I would
say that it would be because they don't want to
see what each other's doing.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
It's too painful.
Speaker 3 (18:27):
Yeah, cass our producer, who has a much more evil mind,
is thinking that, you know, maybe one of them has
gone off and done something.
Speaker 4 (18:36):
Ah right, Okay, so was it supposed to be an
amicable spit was? They seem to.
Speaker 1 (18:41):
They're both they're consciously uncoupling.
Speaker 4 (18:44):
Okay, one of those. Yeah, I know for me and
my ex wife, we I think we did. I'm not
sure what she did actually.
Speaker 9 (18:50):
But I did unfollow for a bit straight after.
Speaker 4 (18:53):
Yeah. Yeah, because you didn't want to see stuff you
don't you don't.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
Want to That makes sense to me. I don't think
it's like that kind of brutal well.
Speaker 9 (19:02):
Yeah, yeah, it's just it's self protection.
Speaker 1 (19:05):
I just don't want to see it.
Speaker 4 (19:07):
And by the way, I'm still I still get photo
memories all the time from Facebook and you can't stop that.
Speaker 9 (19:14):
Here were you five years ago?
Speaker 4 (19:15):
Thanks? That's just what I wanted us on the beach somewhere,
doesn't she just great?
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Stop it?
Speaker 4 (19:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (19:21):
But now, but now we're back, just because I want
to see photos a raf s.
Speaker 4 (19:25):
You don't want to miss those circle Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
Yeah, proud of you band it from Bluey. This is
just awesome. I love it, band it.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
The dad has got himself aside hustle and well done.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
You BCF because you're really smart.
Speaker 3 (19:39):
Have a listen.
Speaker 4 (19:39):
It's here.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
The Black Friday.
Speaker 4 (19:42):
Sale has arrived with truckloads of deals that feel like
a steal.
Speaker 2 (19:46):
There he is there.
Speaker 4 (19:48):
Yeah, that is I mean, that's a perfect fit to us.
Speaker 3 (19:50):
I know, I'm so smart and clearly the ABC or
the BBC did not secure him enough to stop him
doing it.
Speaker 9 (19:57):
Got it, He's got to got to get an extra case.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Wake up with Robin and Kim.
Speaker 4 (20:05):
Halfway through the podcast, so I am two episodes into
the new season of The Crown season six, Yes, yep,
so obviously you know it's based on real events and
not giving anything away to say, I'm at the car crash.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
Okay, are you actually at the car crash or the
lead up?
Speaker 4 (20:23):
Because it just happened. Yeah, so the old frenchman's walking
his dog.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
That's that's the first ye.
Speaker 4 (20:28):
Yeah, but then they bring it back, they bring him
back the.
Speaker 3 (20:31):
Yeah, because it's the first scene and the last scene
of the whole lot in that. Yeah, that's why I'm like,
that's how it anyway.
Speaker 4 (20:40):
Okay, Yeah, there's a couple of things that I ended
up googling last night after watching it. One was how
tall is what's his name? Dirty?
Speaker 11 (20:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (20:51):
How tall? Yeah?
Speaker 9 (20:53):
Well he's not actually is that true?
Speaker 4 (20:55):
Because in that scene you see him walking next to die,
she's like a full foot taller. Then I think it's
just the actress. The Australian actress who plays Diet just
happens to be.
Speaker 9 (21:03):
Really tall, Elizabeth VICKI.
Speaker 4 (21:07):
Yeah, she's great, she's really good.
Speaker 1 (21:09):
Does Diana so well?
Speaker 4 (21:10):
Yeah, but she's really tall. So they're both one hundred
and seventy eight centimeters. Oh then the same high, Yeah,
Diane Doty were the same high. I guess she would
have been wearing heels, so it would give her a
little bit little bit. Yeah, but she towers over him
in the show. So that's one thing. And the other
one that I wonder if I feel like he's being
portrayed quite poorly. Who Dody Doughty. None of us know him,
but he seems he's so insipid in it, like his
(21:32):
dad pushes him around. He's all about trying to get
his daddy's respect, which is possible. We don't know that well.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
Except that there are some things that are really interesting.
So when Dodi al fayed big claim to fame in
the film industry was that he was the producer of
Chariots a Fire.
Speaker 4 (21:47):
Yeah right, okay, and so that.
Speaker 3 (21:49):
Was kind of how he really made a name for himself.
But it was funded by his dad, right, So I
think his whole lifestyle was funded by his dad.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
Now that is taken to the nth degree.
Speaker 3 (21:59):
Yeah, In this show, it did answer the question about
the ring because there was this rumor and speculation that
she had an engagement ring or he had an engagement ring.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
Do you reckon that happened anything like what we saw
on the show.
Speaker 3 (22:13):
I think he went and bought an engagement ring that
he originally got from in Monte Carlo and they didn't
have it, so they went to Paris.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
I do think that was true, did you? And it
may well be the reason why they went there.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
I think those sort of factual things would have had
to have happened. But the conversations, it's interesting because there
is a lot going on on social media that has
really slamming. There's two scenes where Diana comes back and
speaks to both Charles and to the Queen as a ghost,
and then there's this scene where Dodie comes back and
(22:44):
speaks to his father.
Speaker 4 (22:46):
I haven't seen them yet, and people are being.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
Really upset about it.
Speaker 3 (22:49):
I actually thought it was the respectful way that the
Crown was saying, this is fiction.
Speaker 4 (22:55):
Okay, of course, yeah, because there's stuff happening even in
those first two I'm pre ghosts, guys. Sorry, Yeah, there's
things that are happening now that they're like, be a
conversation between Diane Doty or Doty and his dad on
the phone.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
We would never know.
Speaker 3 (23:14):
Although Muhammad al Fayed his dad, who interestingly enough, died
earlier this year, and I thought that's so good. He
was in his nineties, late nineties. Good because I don't
think he'd want to see that, and I don't know
that he was portrayed like there's all these overtoes in racism,
which was absolutely at the time, everyone was saying the
(23:34):
same thing. But it's interesting because Elizabeth, who plays Diana,
said that her and Dominic West, who is Prince Charles,
didn't know how to play the ghost scenes and they
were very unsure, and she said, I don't think we
knew how to play it, and I don't think we
rehearsed it actually, So what people saw is very raw.
It's like the first or second take for both of us.
(23:55):
It's kind of a meta conversation about grief, and for
me it felt so real. Idea that if you suddenly
lose somebody that you love, you have to speak to
them again.
Speaker 1 (24:04):
M Mmmm, it is good, I thought.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
I thought the way that they use that, as I said,
it brought back the fact that it's fantasy, you know,
like they're making up stuff they don't know. But it
also made it feel more sort of rounded, and it
made both the Queen and Charles feel much more generous
and kind. Yeah, don't you think Charles is been portrayed
in a much more definitely nicer.
Speaker 4 (24:27):
Way, and even the Queen to an extent so far.
Speaker 3 (24:29):
Although no that gets that that goes no, I think
she becomes a scapegoat. I think in the previous episodes
with the with Charles, he was the scapegoat.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
And I think they've tamed their tone.
Speaker 3 (24:39):
Okay, because she's no longer here and they have they
want to be seen to support them.
Speaker 4 (24:43):
Oh yeah, okay, yes, so the Queen's than you, Kroschelle.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
For those who don't watch Selling, don't explain it, just let.
Speaker 4 (24:51):
Us not know.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
Wow, hasn't she turned into it?
Speaker 4 (24:56):
I loved it once.
Speaker 1 (24:57):
Yeah, she's so beautiful. Yeah, a bit of a bee.
Speaker 4 (25:02):
I tell you who I am liking on Selling Sunsets.
Here's amansa ridiculous name aside and the fact that she
dresses like a hooker from space aside. I think she's
beautiful and she's nice.
Speaker 9 (25:14):
I hope that she's trying to solve problems.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
I get that is you.
Speaker 4 (25:17):
Yeah, it's very you. And she gets a bit busy.
Speaker 3 (25:24):
Seriously, peeps, watch selling sunset on This conversation means nahing,
just enjoy it.
Speaker 2 (25:29):
You're listening to the Robin and Kid podcast.
Speaker 1 (25:35):
We do all the big stories here.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
Because Kip is struggling with the fact that he's putting
another load of washing through three times because of the weather.
Speaker 4 (25:42):
It's the third time, so the third, and this morning
I thought, because I forgot it yesterday. This morning I thought,
that's right, I'll just wake it in the dry now,
but no, I had a little sniff.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
Okay, so what happens.
Speaker 3 (25:53):
You put it in, You put it in, and you
come to work, yes, assuming that you'll go home and remember.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
That's right, and then you get distracted.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
Yes, I know.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Your life, Well that's me.
Speaker 9 (26:02):
And then the next morning I go, oh, no, I
got to wash it again.
Speaker 4 (26:05):
So I washed it again yesterday and then I forgot again,
and then this morning I went into Okay, so now
now it's having its third wash. But today I'm putting
it in my door.
Speaker 9 (26:14):
Okay, put an.
Speaker 3 (26:15):
Alarm when I get an alarm, like eleven am, and you go,
what's the alarm for?
Speaker 4 (26:19):
I do care?
Speaker 3 (26:20):
When the boys were little and I had that period
of time where I did.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
Cloth nappies, oh yeah, because.
Speaker 3 (26:26):
You know, I thought, I mean I still believe that,
you know, they were in more environmentally friendly and the
landfill and all that to this time.
Speaker 4 (26:35):
Because I think our landfill in the western world is
like it's some it's some ridiculous percentage of it is
nappy's supposed to nappies. It is a great idea if
you can handle it.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
Yeah, but then they just got left in soaked containers.
And it did remind me so way back in the day.
And this will be appropriate for people who remember, Hey, hey,
it's Saturday.
Speaker 1 (26:53):
When it was a big thing.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
I was the pluck a Duck Girl for two years
and so i'd every alternate week I would fly down
to Melbourne and record the show on a Friday afternoon
and then fly back.
Speaker 4 (27:03):
So it was your job as a plack a duck girl.
Speaker 1 (27:05):
Yeah, it was a barrel girl.
Speaker 10 (27:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:07):
My feminist family was stoked.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
So there was a wheels and dark and then you know,
I spun the weird okay, yeah, yeah, many amazing people.
Levinia Nixon was one chili craft I think for a bit. Anyway,
So I would fly down to Melbourne, and this was
in my twenties and I was having a crack in time,
so I had a bit of a bloke on the
side and in Melbourne and I would always get amazing outfits.
(27:35):
And there was this one pair of jeans that had
swayed at the front and they were jeans on the
back and and I thought they were the coolest things. Ever,
I know, I know, very early two thousands.
Speaker 1 (27:46):
Late nineties, choose one pair of.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
And I accidentally left them at his place one night
after hey hates done. I've flown back and I was
working in Toowoomba at the time, so I'd fly back
and forth and and then I couldn't find them, and
I'd forgotten that I'd left them at his place, and
he had was trying to be helpful and.
Speaker 1 (28:08):
Thought he should wash them.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
Kind No, not when you've got swayed, and he left
them soaking. So when I came back two weeks later,
it's like and it was like there was this growth
of and swayed does really awful things when it gets
wet and moldy, and he was he was so embarrassed
because he was trying to, you know, he was trying
to impress me.
Speaker 1 (28:29):
So he took him out of the bucket and there
was just like green.
Speaker 3 (28:33):
Slime wearing those everything, and I was really unhappy with him.
But yeah, I think mine was about two weeks to
two weeks of leaving.
Speaker 4 (28:44):
It in a bucket forgetting of it, and the Swede's done.
I've actually left something in a bucket so long that
it returned to its natural state of cotton separate. Like
I think it was like a cotton shirt, you know,
like a like a button up shirt.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
How long did you leave it?
Speaker 4 (28:58):
It must have been three weeks. Maybe there's a bit
of bleach in there, but it just like as you
want to pull it out, it just clumps of it
just came out and actually just returned to its natural form.
Speaker 9 (29:07):
The Robin and Chit podcast, it's been a while since
we've bed.
Speaker 4 (29:13):
I'm gonna play this Robin.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
Just keep swimming, Just keep swimming.
Speaker 4 (29:17):
Robins in the pool, Robins in the pool.
Speaker 3 (29:21):
Okay, yes, yes, thank you. I swim every second day,
and I do it for health. I started it way
back when I was sort of twelve or thirteen because
I'm a chronic asthmatic and it's a great way. Swimming
is a great way to just make you use all
of your lung capacity. So I've built up over the
years and I now do forty laps straight off the
bat so two CA's, two k's, and I use different
(29:42):
like i'd use paddles and I use flippers, and I
use a kickboard, and I sort of mix it up.
I do it in ten ten lap lots right, so
I don't get too bored, but I'm very set and
I'm also very respectful of other people. And there are
two pools that I swim in. One is Centenary, which
I really like during winter they have got the heating
sorted so you don't freeze, and then Jinderly, which is
(30:05):
my local at Victory Pocket, but it's like less crowded,
so depending.
Speaker 9 (30:09):
What you feel like you're sort of middle of the
day issue.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
Yeah, I try to be at Centenary.
Speaker 3 (30:15):
They have clubs coming in at three o'clock, so the
lanes get shut down anyway, so I usually go about
one thirty two o'clock. Yesterday was interesting because there was
a lightning about, so they have to shut the pool,
and so I think people get really anxious that they've
got to get their laps done quickly. But there's a
lot of etiquette, so they operate with fast, medium and
slow lanes, and then on either side there's like the
(30:36):
walking and exercise people who are doing for rehab and
that sort of stuff. And I tend to go depending
on who's in the pool, or go between fast and medium.
I did learn once when a whole bunch of guys
that had Olympic rings tattooed to their chests.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
Potentially I should go to the medium swimming lane, so
I do look at who's there.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
So this was what happened yesterday. There were a whole
lot of fast guys, and you don't want to get
in people's way, and I tumble turn, I don't stop, like,
I just do my forty laps anyway. This guy, I
think he must have I really want to understand what
you think he's going on in this bloke's head, because
I think he was using me to compete or I
don't know. But we were swimming, and then I tried
(31:18):
to overtake him because he was slower than me, and
that happens, and you do that respectfully.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
So then he just kept speeding up.
Speaker 3 (31:25):
So then I'm forced to swim beside him like you're
trying to overtake, and just imagine an overtaking lane.
Speaker 1 (31:31):
Then someone's coming the other way, and so I have
to back off.
Speaker 3 (31:34):
And so then I stopped at the end, and I
thought I'll just let him go so that I can
then just do it uninterrupted.
Speaker 1 (31:42):
So I just that, so then he stops himself halfway
waiting for me.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
So then I'm like tapping his feet as I'm trying
to go, and I'm thinking, what are you doing?
Speaker 9 (31:51):
Mate?
Speaker 1 (31:51):
He's waiting for me to overtake him. Then he speeds
up again.
Speaker 4 (31:54):
Oh that's weird.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
What is that?
Speaker 4 (31:56):
I don't know?
Speaker 3 (31:57):
And this went on and then I'm thinking, okay, I'm
just going to stop, like I'm going to let him
go a whole lap ahead, and then I kick off
and then he's waiting for me at the back end,
yes to go again. And you don't talk to people
like you got your goggles and you've got your ear plugs.
Speaker 1 (32:13):
And then I was looking at him, I'm going, what
do you want mate?
Speaker 9 (32:16):
He's going, oh, yeah, just do on my laps.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
So he's not mad, no, no, having he's irritating.
Speaker 2 (32:23):
Man, you're mad, I'm mad.
Speaker 4 (32:25):
What is that?
Speaker 9 (32:26):
Well, you know what, It's the same as the people
that do it in cars.
Speaker 7 (32:29):
You know.
Speaker 4 (32:30):
You know when you wait for an overtaking lane. So
you're heading out like past Gimpy and there's there's only
the one lane, and so you wait for the overtaking lane,
and then the person with a caravan in front of
it for some reason, they get to that plane and
they speed up to one hundred and but in a car.
Speaker 3 (32:44):
You're kind of a bit more hidden, Like the only
thing protecting me to him is my goggles, and I
just it is it is that thing that I didn't
know what to say to him. He did not want
me to overtake him. He was going to do anything
in his power for this chick with their flippers on.
And I'm looking at him, going, dude, you're you're just
as fast as me and you're not wearing flippers, Like,
isn't that enough?
Speaker 4 (33:04):
Yeah? Like, what are you doing?
Speaker 8 (33:06):
Don't?
Speaker 4 (33:06):
Yeah, I mean I know, I don't like being overtaken
in the rule Why I don't know?
Speaker 1 (33:12):
You hang on your what now?
Speaker 4 (33:13):
I don't like being overtaken, of course not.
Speaker 9 (33:15):
Why does that means someone's going faster than you?
Speaker 1 (33:17):
Yeah, that's okay. You don't know anything about them.
Speaker 3 (33:19):
So if you if you're in the fast lane with
the Olympic ring, guys, yep, you would not like to
be overtaken.
Speaker 4 (33:24):
Absolutely not.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
Curious wake up with Robin and Kim.
Speaker 4 (33:32):
Post covid. It's great that we're all going out again.
There's plenty of live music around. People are heading back
to the comedy rob.
Speaker 1 (33:38):
It's great and it is great and particularly locally.
Speaker 4 (33:41):
Yes, and of course it doesn't always help when we
have weather like this in Brisbane to have these big
open events, but Whin and Fringe there are like there's
things like the Spiegel Tent for example, So so don't
cancel if you if you're planning and heading along, Like
I know Mike Goldman.
Speaker 9 (33:57):
Who's a friend of the show. He's doing a show tonight.
Speaker 3 (34:00):
I glad you didn't say a friend of yours because
every time you see him in the gym you ignore him.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
But apart from that, because you didn't want to talk
to him, but otherwise engage.
Speaker 4 (34:09):
I was short on time, Raven. I needed to get
my work out done and Mike, you can't have a
quick chat with Michael. You'll see that tonight he's doing
He's doing bingo. He's doing wooden bingo tonight. So if
you're head along, he is actually at the Spiegel Tent
from five o'clock. I think Reggie from Big.
Speaker 1 (34:21):
Brother's going to be doing balls out bingo.
Speaker 9 (34:24):
I wouldn't be surprised.
Speaker 4 (34:25):
I don't think it's part of the plan.
Speaker 3 (34:27):
But no, it's a thing that you can go to
at the Weekham like it's a big hope with drag Queens.
I'm in jeez, you just took me to a place
I didn't expect to go with the form of Voice
of Big Brother.
Speaker 4 (34:37):
Yes, definitely could happen. But one of the things that
and one of the reasons that we really need to
support it this year, is that they've been attacked in
a very strange way. Because it goes over over a
few weeks, it's on until the third of December. There's
a huge Constantania doco is playing. But one of the
things they're doing is a Bay Pride walk and somebody,
(34:59):
I don't know who, I don't know if it's just
one person or a collective, they put out a fake flyer.
Speaker 9 (35:05):
And what's on the flyer it's pretty inflammatory.
Speaker 4 (35:08):
In fact, the director of the Fringe put this post
up on Instagram and describes what's on this flight and
it looks legit like it's got the proper font it's
got the sponsors down the bottom. This has not been
created by us.
Speaker 11 (35:21):
You'll see some of our cast members as well as
the Bay Pride logo as well as the Winter and
Fringe logo. In addition, there are the words please bring
your children, with an image of a child in a
gag mask with the words fancy dress, an image of
two guys in s and m attire with the words
meet and greet, another boy with someone dressed as a
(35:42):
dog with the words pet the animal, as well as
the words kissing classes. Down the bottom it says this
all day event is fully endorsed by Joan P's MP,
Bank of Queensland, Brisbane City Council and Councilor Sarah Whitney.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
And that is not true.
Speaker 4 (35:58):
None of it's true.
Speaker 1 (36:00):
Takes a massive that would take money, that would take time.
Speaker 4 (36:03):
And they did a letter drop. I mean they put
those flyers all around win them all around the bay area.
I don't understand that. Obviously they're trying to create outrage,
but to what end. I don't understand what that's about.
Obviously I don't understand. I don't understand what they're doing.
Why would they do.
Speaker 3 (36:19):
That because they either it's a disgruntled someone who has
had something to do with the Win and fringe and
they're thinking, how can we hurt you? I mean, yeah,
the opposite has happened. We're now trying to say, hey,
go support this amazing event.
Speaker 4 (36:33):
Exactly.
Speaker 6 (36:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
I mean I've just went on their win and Fringe
the Pride page. There's so much on the twenty six.
What's that Sunday?
Speaker 4 (36:40):
Yes, this Sunday.
Speaker 3 (36:41):
Yeah, there's so much stuff that you can go and
be a part of. The Pride March starts at twelve
at Pandanas Beach and then there's lots of things in
the Spiegel Tent.
Speaker 1 (36:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (36:50):
Like it just it feels, it feels disingenuous and it
feels like we're back in the dark ages.
Speaker 4 (36:56):
Yeah. I feel like if you were maybe sitting on
the fence, I probably won't go. Now now I want
to go, do you know what? You know what I mean?
Speaker 9 (37:04):
It's like because they're laying about it.
Speaker 3 (37:06):
That's just Yeah, I love you because you're so much
more conservative than I am. So if you're outraged about
something like this and it makes you want to go,
see So is this If I want to make you
do something, I just have to outrage you.
Speaker 1 (37:19):
Is this what I'm learning?
Speaker 4 (37:21):
Yeah? All it takes is a massive plan, a letter drop,
and then then you will find me there. Right, but
get involved within the Fringe festival, give them their support.
This year, the.
Speaker 2 (37:33):
Robin and Kip Podcast.
Speaker 8 (37:38):
Celebrate Dandy Cooper Woo's birthday with prizes and a sausage
sizzle at Cooperroo Square lunchtime on November thirty. It's time
to play Robin and Kipps. What the flick Russ Drusian.

going to give you one sentence. If you can tell
us what this movie is and yes it has a
Christmas flavor, you'll score yourself this amazing double premium lounge

Speaker 1 (38:12):
Cooper with the bottle of wine delightful food experience. Oh okay,
Mayor of s K Mayor, Hi, Oh how old are
you even?
Speaker 4 (38:22):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (38:23):
Are you a big fan of Christmas movies? Yes?
Speaker 4 (38:26):
Okay, I mean like a lot of Christmas movies. This
was probably made before Mayo was born, but that's okay, Yes.
Speaker 1 (38:32):
And it is and I won't say that. Okay, may
Are you ready? Have you got someone helping you?
Speaker 2 (38:37):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (38:38):
Who's in the background.
Speaker 2 (38:41):
Jane.
Speaker 3 (38:42):
I'm a whole name, have Jane.
Speaker 1 (38:44):
Okay, here we go. Man with one ball has a
hard time getting a ride home.
Speaker 10 (38:52):
Well, that's not the movie we thought it was.
Speaker 4 (38:56):
Talking to Mayer and Jane.
Speaker 3 (38:59):
When you get what it is, yeah, it'll make more
sense any idea, maya just have a gift.
Speaker 1 (39:07):
I bet you thought you were going to say die Hard.
Speaker 4 (39:09):
Is that right? Die Hard?
Speaker 1 (39:11):
I know it's not.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
Okay, thank you, mayor call any time by Jane. Okay,
alexis of West End.
Speaker 1 (39:20):
Okay, I was going to say. I know everyone thought
we were going to do the whole die Hard thing.
Speaker 4 (39:26):
No, it's not. What's the clue again?
Speaker 3 (39:27):
Okay, man with one ball has a hard time getting
a ride home. I will say this is an Oscar
winning movie, Man.
Speaker 1 (39:34):
With one Ball even think of Wait to come on.
Speaker 3 (39:38):
I disagree it's Christmas movie, but it's based around it. Yeah,
here we go to Evan, A man with one bad
has a hard time getting home.
Speaker 6 (39:47):
Hey too, Hey guys, I'm going to go hard.
Speaker 1 (39:52):
Okay, guys, it is not die Hard.
Speaker 4 (39:54):
Yes, I guess it's a similar vein in that it
is based around Christmas, that it's not necessarily a Christmas movie.
Speaker 6 (40:00):
Trish of macravat, Oh, that would be the wonderful Castaway movie,
one of my favorite.
