Speaker 1 (00:12):
I heard podcasts year more kiss podcasts, playlists and listen
live on the Freeheart apps. Robin and Kidd Now with
Correos the podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
There's been a lot of talk about Ezra. Mam, well
this year really happened ten weeks ago.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
Now, now what actually happened? Just to remind everyone, He
got in a car, failed a drug test.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
He had an accident first, then they drug tested and he.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
Failed and someone was injured.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
And then yeah, he got suspended. He got fined and
then got suspended for ten weeks.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Yes, and so that suspension is now over, and so
he's eligible to be named and play for the Broncos,
who are struggling, have been struggling over the last.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Couple of weeks.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
So the news last night, though, in the sports news,
is this they lost.

Speaker 5 (01:05):
Three of their last four and were humbled by Penrith
on home soil in Magic Round. The Broncos won't be
calling on Isra Man to get them back on track
against South Sydney on Friday, despite the fact that he
is free to play after serving a nine game ban
for drug driving offenses.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
How old Eezra again?

Speaker 4 (01:23):
Corey twenty three? Right, yeah, twenty three? I think twenty two,
twenty three.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
And he's young.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Yeah, and captain Captain your mate Adam Reynolds has come
out supporting Ezra.

Speaker 6 (01:36):
All I do know is as we's been at every
game this year and he's been their supporting the boys
know whether we're we're not losing, is their supporting us
and keep part of this team. So obviously fans and
everyone are going to have their opinions, and rightfully sober
you know, we stick by Ezra and we'll stand by.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
So first things first, what do you think of him
not playing for the Broncos this week and being named
to play Q Cup.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
Yeah, I think it's the right call.

Speaker 7 (01:59):
I think it's going to be great for him to
go back, you know, to it all started for him
to where you know, his career edible, his life out
of school began, and.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
He hasn't been allowed to play at all.

Speaker 7 (02:12):
He's just been training and yeah, look you can train
the house down and do all that, but look to
actually come back and you know what he went through
mentally and you know what he's had to deal with
and accept he's done and move forward. It's definitely not easy.
And you know, I think, yeah, training is a great

(02:33):
way to.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
Was he allowed to train with the team through the
last nine weeks.

Speaker 7 (02:39):
Because after all the court and all that, I'm pretty
sure before that he wasn't no, but then after it
was all you know, all the fines and stuff for
handed down, he could.

Speaker 4 (02:49):
So he's been training great from what I hear.

Speaker 7 (02:51):
He you know, he's he's he's sort of acting the
way that as we used to and and it's great
to see because you know, it's not easy to come
back from that. And yeah, look it was a mistake
that he he made and they were all his his
own choice at the time, and I guarantee you it's
it's something that I know he's going to have to

(03:12):
live for and regret for the rest of his life. But look,
I think the move to make him play Kick Up
this weekend is a great one because you know, you're going.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
To see if if he can still do it.

Speaker 7 (03:22):
But it's also going to be like, look, you know
this is you're gonna have to prove it again. You're
gonna have to show if you really want it and
that you don't expect that happens straight away and.

Speaker 3 (03:30):
A self launch.

Speaker 4 (03:31):
Really Yeah, but it's also.

Speaker 7 (03:34):
Send him back you know, getting used to getting used
to people, you know, in the crowds, and.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
You know, well, speaking of crowds, we saw him at
Magic Ground over the weekend. They put him up on
the big screen because he was there supporting the Broncos.
And you'll hear towards the end of this clip what
the crowd thought when they saw Ezra apparently, Yeah, that

(04:01):
the game it was really loud.

Speaker 7 (04:03):
Yeah, I was there, and honestly, I was, I was
pretty I was pretty pissed off about it because everyone
makes mistakes, and you know, everyone always thinks that they,
you know, players should be.

Speaker 4 (04:20):
Banned for longer.

Speaker 7 (04:21):
And prosecuted differently, and you know, caught way more this way,
and to be honest, it's way more than any other
normal person would get. And fine, yeah, yeah, and you
know he's had to go through a lot of things,
and you know, it was it was so long ago,
and and everyone that that that game when they booted
to me, I'm like, everyone's pretty much saying to me

(04:41):
that no one they've never made a mistake, and and
they don't they don't think he deserves a second chance
or to show anyone that he is.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Sorry and that it was a mistake.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
And the only thing.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
I'll say is that because he hasn't spoken publicly, there
has been no opportunity for people who are massive fans
of the show to have an opinion to him or
about anything he said. So in a game scenario, that
is somewhere where people can actually show how they feel.

Speaker 7 (05:11):
But did that one press that that one conference, the
press commerce was all in and they roasted him, to
be honest, So for me, that was him. Yeah, because
I think if you if you flip it and he's
always talking and he's always in the media and chatting,
I feel like everyone's going to be like, oh, you know.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
It's just lying, just doing that to be honest.

Speaker 7 (05:33):
I'm actually a bit annoyed about whoever put it on
the screen at the.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
Game I got.

Speaker 7 (05:40):
I got told that I think it might happen twice, right,
and the same reaction happened twice, and you know that.
To me, I'm just like, Okay, you we talk about
all this mental health stuff and you do that twice
or on reaction.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Because they knew after the first one he's going to
get booed.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
So did I agree with welfare?

Speaker 7 (06:02):
Where it is it just something that we can talk
about when we when we think, you know, we have to.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
Honestly, I hate doing anyway. I don't care who it is.
I just think it's so classless. And I was trying
to go, Okay, well, if I was a massive Broncos
fan and felt really disappointed by him, what would be
the best option. I think it would be silence and
just wait and see, wait and see what he does.
I mean, do you think when he runs out for
the Broncos, which hopefully will potentially be next week, that

(06:30):
they do again.

Speaker 4 (06:33):
I'm really nervous, to be honest, I hope not.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
You know, but have you spoken to him?

Speaker 7 (06:39):
I speak to around that. I try and keep it
pretty short and brief with him. But look if from
what I hear, he's yeah, he's doing really well, and
he's doing a lot of hard work. And I just
really hope he comes out and shows people that he
is sorry and that and and proves and proves the
people that he's going to be the edge of that

(07:01):
we all want and know.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
So okay, let's see.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
Let's see, let's see.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
And I mean, it wasn't a home game, It's worth saying,
even though it was at Sun Court, there was plenty
of non Bronzes in the crowd. So yeah, it'd be
interesting to see how when he's got a proper Broncos crowd,
if people are ready to give him a second chance.

Speaker 7 (07:17):
That's this is just my opinion and how I feel
in the situation.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Well, Allison wants to take you up on it. Hey,
Allison of Tanamara, Hey, how are you going? Good mate?
What would you like to say? Oh?

Speaker 8 (07:28):
I'm just sick of hearing it. I'm sick of hearing
poor Ezra. You know, he made the mistake and okay,
he got a huge fine, but he gets paid a
hell of a lot of money as well. He made
he made an entitled decision to be under the influence
and then drive a high powered you know vehicles they
shouldn't have even been on the road with also under

(07:49):
the influence. He did what he did. But so don't
go to the game. If you don't want your face
up and you don't want people to boo because they're
upset with you, don't go. Don't put yourself out there.
I don't want to hear it. Be humble, Just slink away,
do your time, pay you fine, and stay humble to it.
I've got kids that play the game. I don't want
them looking up to him as some sort of hero.
I'm sick of these guys getting paid a huge amount

(08:12):
of money and having titled actions. The way they carry on,
they are just that out of control and they need
to be put into place. I'm really sorry that he
got he got upset because he was a boot at,
But that's the reaction of people. That is the reaction
of what people are thinking.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
Just before your response, Corey, I will say if he
hadn't gone to the game, he would be smashed for
not supporting the team.

Speaker 4 (08:34):
Yeah, but I'm not saying that was his reaction either.
He didn't. He hasn't said anything. Is this is just
my opinion and my reaction to the to the situation.

Speaker 8 (08:42):
So my reaction is you just said.

Speaker 7 (08:46):
Him, but like, he hasn't come out and said anything.
He's he's been confident, he's been facing everything. He's been
he's been doing everything. He's been doing every game, he's been.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
Abused from every week.

Speaker 8 (08:57):
He's getting punished.

Speaker 4 (08:58):
This is just my opinion.

Speaker 8 (09:00):
He's not he's not being a hero. He's not he's
not paying. He hasn't even come out and said said sorry.
To people what once. I never saw it.

Speaker 9 (09:09):
I missed that clip, Alison.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Can I ask you this, is there ever a point
where there will be redemption for him?

Speaker 8 (09:16):
Is there? I don't really care about him now, to
be fair, but I don't want to hear people being
sorry about him and him taking up time in the
news about whether he's playing this week or not, Like,
just just quietly bring yourself back into it, earn your
redemption with the fans, but don't stick your face up
on a magic round.

Speaker 3 (09:36):
Whether he didn't. I don't think he's got control.

Speaker 8 (09:40):
The fifty cameras And why are we even talking about it?

Speaker 1 (09:43):
Because he was born, because he deserves a boot.

Speaker 8 (09:47):
He deserves it.

Speaker 7 (09:48):
And I'm just giving you my opinion on the on
the reaction from the crowd, that's that's just my opinion of.

Speaker 8 (09:54):
A lot of people.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
When are they going to stop booing? Allison?

Speaker 5 (09:56):
Like?

Speaker 3 (09:57):
How many times do you see his face and bill
him before it's enough?

Speaker 5 (10:00):
Well?

Speaker 8 (10:01):
Like, how how long were we talking? Did you? Do
you think the victims of what happened are over it already?

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (10:06):
I mean I guess, Alison.

Speaker 8 (10:08):
I'm not. I think it's still raw because let him
get out there and actually make it up to the public.

Speaker 4 (10:13):
And that's what I wanted to do, to actually.

Speaker 8 (10:15):
Do something other than just cry about everyone. He's not
what you tell me what he's done, Corey? What's he done?

Speaker 4 (10:22):
What's he doing? He's what he done, He's going to rehab.
He's done a lot of things.

Speaker 8 (10:27):
Congratulations to him.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
He's been.

Speaker 7 (10:28):
He's been going to every game, facing everything, facing all
the facing all the crowd that's just sitting there supporting
his team.

Speaker 8 (10:35):
I would still go to work because that's my job.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
But he's doing everything. What else do you want from him?

Speaker 8 (10:39):
He's done?

Speaker 9 (10:40):
What else do you want from community?

Speaker 8 (10:42):
Go to the grassroots?

Speaker 4 (10:43):
How would you know?

Speaker 8 (10:44):
Is it try and see people? Well, is he Corey Temmy,
I've got.

Speaker 4 (10:47):
No idea what he's doing. But how would you know
he's not.

Speaker 8 (10:50):
Well, I haven't seen him out there.

Speaker 9 (10:51):
I've got three kids that play football where where you
know we hear nothing that you know he's out there
talking to the kids, talking to the kids about stupid
mistakes that you can make as a young person.

Speaker 8 (11:02):
But do something like that.

Speaker 7 (11:04):
If he was going out there and they'll throwing it
all over social media, do you think everyone will be
saying oh, a great job, Like, oh, they're just making him.

Speaker 8 (11:12):
Social media coorse. We've had players come down to our
local clubs all the time and it hasn't turned into
a fan.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
But Alison, this is the problem, right, We actually don't
know if he's done that because it isn't on social media.
So therefore you're saying, well, you want to see what
he's done. I mean it's a catch twenty two.

Speaker 8 (11:28):
You're right a lot of people that no one else
is seeing it, are they?

Speaker 1 (11:32):
Yeah, But you're also saying that if there are a
lot of people doing so, a lot of people aren't
seeing it either, are they, Robert No, But Alison, you
also said that if he wants to do this quietly,
so you can't have it both ways. But absolutely no.

Speaker 8 (11:46):
Well I know I'm saying, come out quietly and return
to the game, don't make it a big spectacle, don't
get on the news crying speech.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
That's but you know what, Alison, you do represent a
lot of people.

Speaker 8 (11:58):
You do represent the facts at Magic Ground.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
Yeah, you do represent a lot of people that are
really angry. I think your point about the victims is
very valid. We don't know how they're going. There has
been nothing about how they're dealing with all of this.
And I think at the end of the day, the
Broncos and Ezra and Corey and all his family and
friends have to recognize that people are divided and your
opinion is really valid, and we thank you so much

(12:24):
for that.

Speaker 8 (12:24):
Is all the footballers, all of his friends seem to
think it's okay.

Speaker 4 (12:29):
No, they don't you yeah, have you. I don't think
it's okay at all.

Speaker 7 (12:33):
I just I just know everyone makes mistakes, and I
know everyone gets a lot of people get second chances,
and it's what they do with that second chance.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
To me, that matters.

Speaker 7 (12:41):
When they get a second chance, it's what you do
with that, and that's that's what I am just relying
on him to do. And I believe he's doing all
the right things to be honest, and that's just my opinion.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
Thank you for your opinion, Alison, Thank you any time.

Speaker 4 (12:55):
Yes,
