Speaker 1 (00:00):
On Canbras Hit one O four point seven. It's Roden,
Gabby rat.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
And one week down a Big Brother Australia returning.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
Everyone seems pretty pleased that it's like the original one
and so all we need now is some controversy.
Speaker 4 (00:20):
Yeah, this all happens on the live stream, which you
can watch all the time, like it's on twenty four seven.
Chelsea produced. Chelsea's been watching the live stream a fair
bit just in case anything fun happens.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Producer Chelsea.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
Does anything happen though, because obviously what we see on
TV is the editor high lives for intents and purposes.
If you just tune in, are they just sitting on
the couch talking.
Speaker 5 (00:41):
Yes, but the thing that Gabby is about to talk
about did happen on the live stream, so.
Speaker 4 (00:47):
We've got it before it goes to the TV.
Speaker 5 (00:49):
Oh so there is some exclusive stuff that does happen
on the live stream, or you just watch them sitting
on the couch and chatting.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
It saves you know, not watching the live stream, saves
a lot of watching the live stream.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
But you two are doing this, I'm not okay producing.
Speaker 4 (01:07):
No, But there was a fiery argument between two of
the housemates because Holly, who's thirty one, went up against Jane,
who's sixty seven, over what I'm calling snoggate. So Holly
and Colin. We talked about Colin the other day. He
was very upset about being called the least smart in
the house. It was a really beautiful moment where he
(01:28):
was very vulnerable with Big Brother. He's twenty one and
he is hooken up with Holly who's thirty one, and
they had their.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
First He just glossed over that, So, what do you
mean they're hooking up?
Speaker 4 (01:39):
They're hooking up. They had their first kiss on the
live stream.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
Whoa Oh, say goodness. Can you imagine you finally get
to kiss this person that you like and you're.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
On live stream?
Speaker 2 (01:48):
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 4 (01:49):
Okay, but they tried to make it subtle, and in
my opinion, like I don't particularly like what I've seen
of Holly, and I don't particularly like what I've seen
of Jane. I'm going to be honest, but I feel
like Holly and Colin tried to be as subtle as possible.
You're in a Big Brother house, You've got all these
other housemates around, There's nowhere to have any kind of privacy.
(02:12):
Except in the toilet. You're not going in there for
your first kiss. That's gross.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Which one's Jane was not listening to?
Speaker 4 (02:17):
Jane is the older lady than Nana.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Oh, the white supremacist Nan. Yes, fantastic. So there alright,
So Holly.
Speaker 4 (02:24):
And Colin have snuck away to the bedroom. They've gone
to the communal couch in the middle of the room.
They've hidden themselves under a blanket, and they've had their
first little smoochie.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
Huh.
Speaker 4 (02:36):
So they've tried to I in my opinion, they've tried
to make it a private moment. Jane has walked into
the bedroom, she's having a conversation with someone. All she
can hear is snogging under a blanket next to her,
and she's not happy about it.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
Jane, your Nan is meant to be that good mate,
right right?
Speaker 4 (02:53):
So I've got the moment where Jane confronts Holly. We're
only going to watch the first like forty seconds this
because it goes on for five minutes. But this is
why she's so upset about what's happened.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
This is why they give you the edited highlights in there.
But if you're going to watch the live stream, you're
going to get the five minutes.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
We won't do the whole thing.
Speaker 5 (03:13):
To stop talking, I know, but I just do feel
like this is a conversation, like I just because you're
going down a garden path.
Speaker 4 (03:21):
That's not actually happening. So I just want to really no,
hang on to what's happening, like.
Speaker 6 (03:25):
Let me just finish. But like, okay, all I'm saying
is for me. Okay, I don't want to walk in.
Look I love I think it's great, you know.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
And then when I found out I love love.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
Do ya?
Speaker 2 (03:40):
But I want to I don't want to hear it
under a blanket.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
I don't want to hear the sounds of love.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Sorry Jane for interrupting.
Speaker 6 (03:45):
Go on, you got And I'm going to be honest
because that's who I am. I said when I was
coming on here. I'm the oldest on the groovy grannie
on whatever.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
My not very groovy. If you're against a snogs, keep going.
Speaker 6 (03:58):
My opinions, and my opinions is probably my age group's opinion.
You know, my boys and their girlfriends or they've got
wives or whatever. Right now, if they were lying on
my on the couch at my.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Place, what everyone in this conversation. Wants to do what
I'm doing.
Speaker 4 (04:17):
Around They weren't in the lounde room lying on top
of each other on the couch making out while everyone
was socializing around them. They had snuck into the bedroom.
Speaker 6 (04:30):
In on it all the time. And I don't want
to stop you for doing it.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
You do, you do want to stop everybody? Where else
are they going to go? They were in the bedroom.
That's where these things happened.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
I'm not pausing it.
Speaker 6 (04:41):
This is just in real time and I can hear
you still going under a blanket broad talking inappropriate.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Stopped.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
Let's move on from that argument.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
Okay, Jane the groovy grand very self declared, Yes, I
think others will judge how green you are.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
This is Rodin Gabby wrapped on camera. See on four
point seven.
Speaker 3 (05:05):
Our next guest has experienced something so rare that very
few people can say that this has happened to them,
and that is going first round in a w NBA draft.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
In the US.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
With the twelfth pick in the twenty twenty four WNBA draft,
the Atlanta Dreams select Nadio Huts from Australia.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
Nadio Kracky. What a moment? What did that feel?
Speaker 7 (05:34):
Like by the way, Yeah, oh, it was like honestly unreal.
It was incredible.
Speaker 6 (05:39):
It was.
Speaker 7 (05:41):
It was a thick couple of days. I will say
I was really fortunate enough to travel with my mom
to New York where it was, and I was only
there for about three four maybe five days depending for
the travel. But it was honestly incredible. Like I got there,
you know, I met a lot of the new like
the place that were getting drafted so obviously, like Caitlyn Clark,
(06:02):
a Jewelries, Cameron Brink, Like I met all the girls there,
which was so cool and like kind of getting that
experience and a lot of us get to you know,
having get that off your opportunity. So yeah, it was
it was incredible. Like getting invited to the green room
is not it's not in everything, you know, not everyone
gets that. So it was really cool.
Speaker 4 (06:19):
How many people are in the running to be drafted
each year and how many Australians.
Speaker 7 (06:25):
Oh there's heats, so about like three rounds or four,
so that's like thirty plus kind of players getting drafted
and picked up, but not I don't know, not a
lot of Australians obviously, Like we had me Iziboul as
jash Shally drafted in that round that year. But I
don't know, this is not a lot. I think obviously
(06:46):
being an international from there, that we're not you know,
one of the first people that want to look at
there's obviously a lot of college players or yeah, like
I say, it was, but obviously they've got their college
route and they look for players there. But not a
lot of people, I guess. But you know, obviously if
they see something near then yeah, they'll go ahead and
(07:07):
pick you.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
But yeah, I saw.
Speaker 3 (07:09):
Something for obvious reasons. Silver at the World's representing your nation.
Then an NBL championship with south Side. We're very excited.
Have you playing for the Caps? Is it home the
act yet?
Speaker 7 (07:23):
Yeah? Absolutely it is. I mean from coming last year.
I think returning over seven mila home to me. It
helps when you've got such a great community and cob
that you know want you to be here and they
look after you, so you know you can't you really
can't go wrong with that. So yeah, definitely is home.
Speaker 4 (07:40):
Is it easier coming to Canberra from Tasmania and Melbourne
as opposed to maybe Queensland because the weather is a
little binder if you're coming from further south.
Speaker 7 (07:51):
Yeah, look, it's from Melbourne. It's it's okay because you know,
Melbourn's a bit rocky with the weather up and down,
where at least here in canber are a bit stable
with what we get. So I think I'm like, I'm
loving it. Yeah, I can't really complain.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
I worry about professional athletes when they're put in a
house with teammates, but I'm thinking predominantly of the footy boys.
How sensible are you and who are you living with?
By the way, you're with a teammate.
Speaker 7 (08:19):
Yes, I'm living with Monique the Bongi and it's been great.
One's like a little sister to me, Like I've got
a big family, so it's good to live with someone
that also has a big Family's also, I think we
both get it where we need, Like if we need
our time, we need our time. If we want to
talk to each other, we can talk to each other,
and it's like it's just normal. But it's very like
one she's eighteen, but to me she's like twenty plus
(08:40):
year old, Like she's so mature and it's easy to
a little bit there and we get along really well.
So I know, I think it's really good having a
teammate and social living out where we are. It's just perfect.
So it's like you come home and trry me from
a long day of training, long day gym. It's just
like what, It's the perfect thing you kind of need.
Speaker 4 (08:56):
Doesn't sound like much of a party house, then, yeah,
we're a really chill down here.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
Ye're right.
Speaker 4 (09:03):
You have the coolest nickname within the basketball world that
I think I've ever heard, the block Doctor. How does
that feel?
Speaker 7 (09:11):
Yeah, yeah, it's cool. I think it'd come from the
South Side Fliers when I near my rookie year. It
kind of just went on and just was just blocking
people right or whenever I could. And I guess the
commentator like just kind of got that from there.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
And I love it cool.
Speaker 7 (09:27):
I mean, I take pride and playing defense, so I
think it helps. Like this is like a little confidence bouce.
So I'm like, yeah, cool, cool.
Speaker 4 (09:34):
The people that have like the nickname butterfingers and stuff like,
I think the block Doctor is far better.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
Jamie and I had the vertical leap of the piano,
so we will never be described as the block Doctor,
that's for sure. You first, you're so much fun to watch.
You're just fantastic out there and it's going to be
an interesting one. So tomorrow afternoon, three o'clock AIS Sydney Uniflames.
Now a week ago, like you know last night, a
(09:59):
week you go, they had our number. You've looked at
the tape and so as far as the talent on
the on the court, I assume you feel like you're
just ready to click.
Speaker 7 (10:09):
Now, yeah, but absolutely ready to go. I mean it's
been a rocky start for us, as anyone can see,
but you know, things happen, and you know we weren't
going to be perfect, and I think, no, think I
don't think any team out there is perfect. But I
think we're still trying to get our groove and you
know fit, like we're a brand new team and we've
got such straight plays, so I think, you know, was
(10:30):
we still learning how to gel together? And this is
why we train so we can you know, gel together,
get well together and then you know, go out there
and you know win. So I think tomorrow we're really excited.
We've been training really hard and everyone's ready to like
put their best foot forward, and especially for our crowd
as well. We've only had one home game so we'd
helped to play at home again, so you know, get
the crowd down and everyone come to watch and support us.
(10:51):
And you know, they the biggest supporters for us, and
they're like our six man and it's I hate playing
out other people's venues and arenas and they've got such
a big crowd, so you know, I know how important
it is for people to come and watch us play.
So you know, we're so excited, and yeah, we've been
training really hard and I think it's going to go
upwards from here.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
Well, plenty of time to turn it around.
Speaker 3 (11:08):
Impressive roster, one of the most impressive rosters in the competition,
and so we can't wait to see you at home.
We're at AIS three o'clock tomorrow. If you can't get
to the game, I mean, let's make it a home
quarter down and you get there.
Speaker 8 (11:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
If you can't nine.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
Now, ESPN and Disney plus good luck and we look
forward to seeing you on the court tomorrow.
Speaker 7 (11:26):
Yeah, awesome, thanks for having me.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
This is Ron Gabby rapped on camera Seve on four
point seven.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
Oh, I mean shout out to my posting.
Speaker 4 (11:38):
I do want to give a shout out to my posting.
I feel like I've done a lot of complaining about
postal situations over the past six months, and I had
a really positive experiences today, so I needed to balance
it out and do a shout out to my posting.
Because I got home yesterday and I was driving in
the driveway and the van was kind of turning around
(11:59):
and pull out the other way, and he stopped next
to me and he went and you number three, And
I was like, yes, I am, and he goes, great,
I've got a parcel for you.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Well done, don't take me my seat, doun off.
Speaker 4 (12:12):
He goes you stay there, love, I'm gonna come to you.
And he gets out and he comes over and because
I had to sign for it, leave it. And he'd
already like written out a card and put it on
the door. He could have just driven off.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
He done his job. You weren't there. He needed you
to sign for.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
It, and he went next level. And I really appreciated
that because that means, now, guys, I've finally done what
I've said I was going to do for the last
three years. And I put my telstras in my phone,
which is what he was delivering, and I'm now with
te He facilitated my move.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
I can't leave you, let optus screw you.
Speaker 4 (12:52):
Around for so many three years they have, They've really
not tried to keep me at all. No, I'm Michael, buddy.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
I think that they hand over all your details to
the dark web.
Speaker 4 (13:02):
Two years ago.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
Yeah, you gave them every chance to make it up.
Speaker 4 (13:06):
I really did.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
They failed dismally.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
This is wrong. Wrapped on cameras four point seven.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
All I know is that Merry Christmas has been replaced
by Mary thriftmus.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
Thriftsmos.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
I'm sure this is not a new thing, but it's
become quite a trending topic this year because we are
all struggling with the cost of living crisis. We have
been for a few years now, but this year it's
really become a thing where people are embracing thriftmus, where
you actually go to the op shops to buy pre
(13:44):
loved presents for the festive season.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Good one.
Speaker 4 (13:46):
This is especially great for small kids because new and
shiny things are no different to used in shiny things
like kids don't see a difference in them, They just
see a new toy.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
I noticed that both things are shiny. Nice thinking.
Speaker 4 (14:05):
Well, when you get used toys from the op shop.
They've been cleaned, they've been sanitized, they're not going to
be broken. Like, they're still usable, so they're still shiny.
Give a little buff.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
A decisiveness wane through that thirty seconds.
Speaker 4 (14:25):
Okay, a majority of op shops they would be.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
Just shove around, smashed to smithereens. But hey, this is
and you're right, I mean, this is how often do
you say? Particularly little kids will play with the box
more than what's inside it.
Speaker 4 (14:40):
And I've even seen friends of mine get gifts that like,
the kid hasn't played with the toy for a really
long time, so they wrap it up and put it
up to the tree. It's a very small child and
they're like, oh, I got a new toy. Like they're
like goldfish when they're that small, I would be ashamed
of my own child. Well, when we just had Olivia's
(15:03):
birthday and she was opening all of her presents after
her party, and I was like, I wonder if I
could just squirrel a couple of these prisons away because
she doesn't opened them yet. Smart you could and just
like regift them for Christmas. She's too You could, absolutely
I could, but I just felt like I couldn't I
like her?
Speaker 2 (15:17):
That we'll see. We'll see on December twenty five.
Speaker 4 (15:22):
A friend's like hold on, that's the outfit I gave
every birthday.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
I couldn't. I couldn't, I would never.
Speaker 1 (15:31):
This is Ron Gaby wrapped on camera four point seven.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
Let's go through what we've learned this morning, because in
the last twenty four hours we announced that the Chief
Minister of the Act would be joining us this morning
to address the fact that we had reached the mid
point of November, which had been loosely labeled as you
open Big Splash Park, and we play on you don't
and there's going.
Speaker 4 (15:53):
To be trouble we're taking and it doesn't look like
it's going to be open anytime soon.
Speaker 3 (15:59):
Well, as soon as we began the promos, so we
do these daily, we say what's coming up tomorrow on
the show.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
As soon as we said that's what's coming up on
tomorrow's show.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
Actually, Nolan in the newsroom, you received You didn't get
the press release yesterday afternoon, but someone started drafting it.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
You got it overnight.
Speaker 8 (16:17):
Yes, So we got a press release overnight from consultants
who have been engaged by the owner of Big Splash,
and they have said that Big Splash will not reopen
this summer.
Speaker 3 (16:30):
Okay, so they knew obviously it was going to be
tabled this morning they said it's not going to reopen.
They gave all sorts of flimsy details as to what's
going to happen, but the reality is nothing.
Speaker 2 (16:41):
Setting stuff our major concern.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
After Act, Opposition leader Mark Parton went on the record
about thirty six hours ago maybe it's forty eight now,
said his understanding was that the government had been negotiating
with the owners to rezone.
Speaker 4 (16:57):
To and develop it into something else.
Speaker 3 (16:59):
Right that to the Chief Minister fifteen minutes ago he
said that will not happen. It will not be rezoned
for a different purpose.
Speaker 2 (17:07):
And so here we are. Here, we are water slideless,
water slideless.
Speaker 3 (17:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (17:12):
Yeah, So they have come out to say it's going
to still be a water parkit potentially no water slides, right.
Speaker 8 (17:17):
Yeah, So they haven't mentioned the slides specifically, but the
Greens also issued a media release this morning saying that
they had met with the consultants and that they were
informed that the slides are too far beyond repair and
that they will be going.
Speaker 4 (17:33):
So it might just be a pool in a splash
park or something like we've got everywhere else around the city.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
One water parks beyond repair is another man's awesome backyard slides.
Speaker 2 (17:46):
O man is this guy?
Speaker 4 (17:48):
But you're about to move out of the sticks where
you have room to put this slide.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
Guests, I might have to stay. I mean, if you
go at the back of Big Splash and the slides
are just there, I
Speaker 7 (18:06):
M ta
