Speaker 1 (00:00):
Let's quickly go back to the Royal Australian Mint, where
the eyes of Australia have turned to the release of
the most anticipated coin since Bluey last year, Baby Wears.
Have you been let inside after people were queuing since
just after midnight this morning?

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Yep, we're finally inside. Everyone's wrapped around the little barricades
that they've got on the inside ready to collect. Heaps
of people are walking out with bags full of all
the little goodies that they've managed to come away with.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Home grounded band.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
Yes, how many people do you reckon? We're in the line.
By the time the mind.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Opened from when we spoke last it was probably like
thirty five forty and I would say it got close
to doubling since then.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
Yeah, very good. All right, well you're a good man.
You turn up there at six thirty in the morning.
You gave everyone freemachers on us, more specifically Macas, So
thank you am for taking the breaky or should I
say providing the breaky and you taking it. And don't
forget the peak Chicken is upon us with new mcwings
at Macas and everyone had a great breaking down there today.
Are you you're getting yourself a coin. I mean you've

(01:05):
done the time.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Well, I'm thinking, you know, everyone's kind of convinced me.
I haven't really collected anything before that. Now might be
kind to start.

Speaker 3 (01:14):
You really get caught up in the hype when you're
at the mint because there are some cool coins, there
are some passionate people. Everyone's so excited. I am very
close to becoming a collector because of our time at
the Mints.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
We spent a few hours at the Mint there a
couple of months ago. Yeah, it changes, you change as
a person and we forget it's just one of our
nation's great institutions. But in our backyard, like everything, you know.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
You take granted.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
And no people I spoke to that day said this
is my first time here. Said, oh, yeah, you just
moved to camb what's happening there where something's happening in
the background.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
Yes, we've got a group of school kids that have
just pulled up to the Mints.

Speaker 1 (01:50):
They're going to be late for school, I guess, But again, you.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Get the coin.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
I think if you turn up to school and go
I was just at the Royal Australian Mint. Why would
you say it like that?

Speaker 3 (01:59):
But I was just at the I think that's fine.
I think that's a past it's educational.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Right anyway, people like it all right, Wes, thank you
for your reporting across the morning, and we'll let you
get back in the queue and get your coin.

Speaker 3 (02:11):
You've earned it today.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Thank you guys, I'll see you soon.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Well done. And of course that coin, I think I
might have got over excited and glossed over the part
where it is or It is a series of coins
celebrating the cakes from the Australian Women's Weekly Children's Birthday
Cake cookbook.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
It there's twelve different coins with different cakes on them,
like the Pool Cake and the Robot Cake, Beautiful and
other cakes.
