Speaker 1 (00:00):
Tom right from the Brumbies has dropped in right on, Q.
Have you looked their head to the weather for tomorrow
night's game against the Tars.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
I tend not to try to let it surprise me
a little bit. I guess the Tars might have been
looking at it, well, had at least one eye on it.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
This is really interesting when we talk about home ground advantage,
and yet we know that the Reds, you know, we
know that teams in extreme weather environments will train to
try and have an advantage. And so if we if
we start plumbing towards zero, this is good news for
us tomorrow night.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Right, Well, that's what they say in Zach days, once
you're allowed to get the katmando's out of the puff
of jackets out. So as soon as it rolled around
that last week, I think the boys had one eye
on the little advantage we might get.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
The Tars are soft, they have those long they got
those big trench coat jackets, don't I That's what I
was talking about this earlier in the week. That's who
I've seen wearing them. Don't start me on the Reds.
They come and they we they wrapped them, said they
wrapped themselves in blankets.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
Aren't you're allowed to say it. I'm not because might
come back to bite me if I do poke the
bear a little bit.
Speaker 3 (00:57):
I find it really interesting though, because you said today
you're doing a bit of recovery and an ice bath
might be included in that. Is that more hell in
summer or winter or just it just sucks all time?
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Yeah, it's one of those ones you sort of just
bite the bullet. But don't get me wrong. It's indoor like.
It's not just out in the elements like it is
this morning, like it could be a lot worse.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Don't give the strength and conditioning guys any ideas they're going.
In a second, how a element. We'll turn up to
get into the car park today and you'll see.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
The portable ice bath.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Well, so the ice bath is it's there are proper
ice baths and then there are wheely bins full of
water and ice. Have you have you got in one
of Notice.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
You've got to humble yourself sometimes and get in the
dirty wheely bin. We've got the best of both words.
So we've got the ability to drop it down and
be really humble, or we've got the nice plunge and
it's very beautiful. That's nice to know.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
That's a measure of where your club's traveling. As far
as budget management's concern. If they're filling the wheelly bin
with ice and water. You know, it's tough times, but
you still need to get the job done. You need
to look after the muscles. Speak of the job done.
Let's get to let's get too important stuff now. Did
you come here on the way to you know, doing
the meeting today at training and have your daughter, Indy's
(02:07):
shoes in your boot and she's got to get to
get to school.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
It was a topic ofod discussion. The finger was pointed
very quickly at me, but it was actually in her
backpack that I backed very nicely. Oh well done. I
one for the good guys this morning.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
You've got the points.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Doesn't happen often that I'm actually in the right, but
I'll take it.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
I'll take it a year and a half in same
as Gabby, you you're I had the backpack in my
car yesterday. That's true, but I was the same thing.
But yeah, our daughters are the same age and days apart,
days apart, and the the routine where one does drop
off and one picks up. It can get a little
bit confusing as to who's in the right and.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Who's in the wrong.
Speaker 1 (02:44):
Believe me, yesterday on the phone, Gabby was really apologetic
with her husband playing which is I'm so sorry I
still got the bag, and then she hung up and went,
it's his fault, Like how could it possibly be his fault?
She talked me into it him like, yeah, yeah, it
is his fault.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
He distracted me, but I was trying to do it.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
But just the day, the bags have got so many.
They've got little pockets in them. You can lose stuff
in there.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
There's pockets, and then there's like side pouches, and there's
a back zip bar. Then there's then there's like the
side they sometimes put like a dirty jumper or something
in like a you know, a separate plastic bag that
just gets melted in somewhere else underneath.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
And then have you had clothes go moldy because of that?
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Again, that was my fault somehow. But yeah, the moldy clothes,
that that was just that's just straight in the red bin.
I'm not dealing with that.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
There's been a lot of talk in the media. Is
there been much talk at the club around the fact
that tomorrow night on the screen there will be updates
as far as the election count is going. Because you know,
anyone who had organized a Saturday night event. We had
Sammy j the comedian, he's performing at the Camera Theater.
It was all these things were booked for this date
(03:51):
and this time before the election was called, and here
we are. We don't want anyone to stay home and
miss out on this stuff. So well, you have one
eye the big screen for the replays and the election camp,
or maybe more focused on the game.
Speaker 2 (04:04):
That's a beautiful part about coming in here. He learned
something all the time about it, but now it's good
that I've learned about it a day early, so I
can sort of wrap my head around and not be
distracted by it's such a distraction, right, Well, that's it.
It's you know, I grabbing. I don't want it to
take my mind off the game.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
To be fair, it's another homeground advantage. Don't tell the tars,
No one tell New South Wales that this is happening,
because Avia will be freaking out about the cold and
next thing they'll see the election tally come up and
they'll be going second.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
Let me take a closer look.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
But the guys will be running with the ball and
he'll stop and just go dunt and what boom?
Speaker 1 (04:36):
Will we run one over?
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Well, this is something that the Tars wouldn't have thought
about yet. No, it's really good from the goo. At
least having that up there. Some more homeground advantage for
us is the better.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
That's true, it is home ground advantage. How are we
traveling this? I mean to be honest, it wouldn't matter
whether or not we're getting ready to play finals or
it's the first match of the round. When it comes
to the derby. We just love beating these guys because
they think they're so much better than us.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Well, they've got one up on us earlier in the
season up there at Alliance in Sydney. So if we
haven't needed any more reason to get up for a game,
as you said, the derby. You know, we're considered the
little brother of the Tars and have been for a
long time, so you know that rivalry always is going
to run deep for us. But yeah, they've obviously got
a really strong showing in their side. I've had, you know,
(05:21):
an up and down season, but they've been really strong
when they've played in Australia especially, and we're not taking
them by any means lightly, so we know we're up
for it tomorrow night.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
Yeah, this is a pivotal game when you have a
look at the context of this season and where we
and everyone else in the comp goes from here. Saturday
night we get the best of every world. If you're
a politics fan, you get it on the big screen
with the count coming in and the Brums knocking off
the tars G seven thirty five. We kick off tomorrow night.
Appreciate you fitting us in between checking the boot for
(05:51):
the shoes and getting to training. Good luck tomorrow night, mate,
we'll chat again.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Awesome to be in Thanks very much, guys, Appreciate it.
