anything good?
Speaker 1 (00:19):
Hey, this is the Christian O'Connell show podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
So abouts you on a busy weekend? Your birthday Friday,
already turning fourteen on Saturday?
Speaker 1 (00:33):
And then wasn't it her big sort of dance show? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (00:36):
So they do like a concert every six months, and
that was just happened to be this weekend. So they do,
you know, like a showcase of what they've been doing,
massive performance, two hour long thing.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
So what was the show? What did they do? Two hours?
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Two hours? Yes, yes, a lot classes all across Melbourne.
So she performed twice and then they do this big, lovely,
big finale number. It was at the National Theater in Sinculda,
which is beautiful old. Yeah, it is gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous,
and they all the kids get on the stage and
(01:11):
do this final massive number that honestly they put you know,
practice for and rehearse for months and months and months beforehand.
Only it would have been good if I could have
seen it.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
What happened?
Speaker 2 (01:21):
You don't got those parents who start stand up, start
filming it with a giant iPad and stuff.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
It was a.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
Karen who insisted no one else, no one else in
the auditorium had stood up, like you don't stand up.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Oh that's really rude.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
Until yeah, well I couldn't see it.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Now that's horrible because you couldn't. You're blocking their view.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
You couldn't see it. And I was like, I thought,
do I care?
Speaker 1 (01:45):
What do I do something?
Speaker 3 (01:46):
What do I do? And then Chris kind of Chris
could read the play, and he just put his hand
on my leg and gave me a little pat as
as much to say, settle down there, girl, just just
sit down, because I really wanted.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
To take a gun singer being told just to rehold
the pistol.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
But I just think, easy, Why is it?
Speaker 3 (02:08):
It's COVID where we've lost some of our social etiquette?
Where what did you think that others were doing?
Speaker 1 (02:15):
It's awful parts, isn't it?
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Because you're like there's a whole auditorium, every single one
that wants to see their kids, you know, shining up there,
and you stand up the west of them, can't see behind.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
Did anyone say anything?
Speaker 3 (02:26):
No, No, they didn't different. You know what, if everyone
else was up, or even just a dozen people, it
would have been fine, you know, like, good on you
get in the spirit all that, but hey, you're very
well restrained.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
My wife or even I would have said something.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
No, well I nearly did. And you know, as we're
walking out, I said to Chris, Chris said, I.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Getting in the car park, go and key the car
is cane.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
I said, I don't believe that you were were composed.
I'm so proud of you. And I said, well, I
didn't want to say something because how would have that looked.
It's like, I'll look at Patsy, she's going off again,
she's telling again in front of us.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Again, doing her show stuff, and then you're just you're
doing a Tom Lynch.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Swinging my handbag around. But then I also there's a
part of me that regrets not saying I'm like, that's
it burns you for days, ye see it you lie.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
There at two in the morning. And then I could have.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
Said, you know, and I could have I could have
nicely said it. I could have just tapped her on
the elbow and say, would you mind sitting down because
I actually can't see you.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Don't know if you would have been out in that,
would you mind sitting down to something?
Speaker 1 (03:40):
We'd all like to sleep?
Speaker 3 (03:43):
But I seriously could not see a thing. Couldn't see
from the left of the stage to the right. So
I don't know what she did. You could have stood
on her head.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
And they tell me this, right, tell me this, right,
This is what my wife would have been like, seething
and rightly so okay, so much so that on the
drive home, we're really not talking about the most important thing, right,
it's will always talk about all feeling in the cart
is the anger at that Karen, nothing out six months
alreadys been rehearsing to but the show stopper on all
(04:12):
those kids and all the support team around them.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
Again, the problem, it's just about that, Karen.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
How did you like it? Mamuela, it would have been good?
How of my scene?
Speaker 2 (04:21):
And then the conversation dies down, something else gets spoken about,
and then there's I'm sorry, I just.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
For a long drive back over the West Gate. It
was Christian O'Connell show on podcast
