Speaker 1 (00:00):
Christ Yeah, welcome friends to the Christian O'Connell Show podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
All right, So Jack and I are in a world
of pain today because this is the best footy show around.
We're talking about on Fox AFL three sixty. When I
hear this thing tune and I know the double that
one of the greatest double ats on TV in Australian
broadcasting history are coming back.

Speaker 3 (00:25):
It's like I hear this.

Speaker 4 (00:29):
Happy Days, a Happy Day, and.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
Robbo is the fons and they've killed Phonsie.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
They've killed Phonsie yesterday, last show of the season, and
there's no Robbo. He's gone in what I can only describe.
And look, maybe I'm being cynical or jaded here, but
normally when someone doesn't get a chance to say goodbye,
they've been breakfast radioed where they you just don't see
that person ever again.

Speaker 3 (00:54):
You're like, what the hell happened to that person?

Speaker 4 (00:57):
There was just well there was like because if you
were coming from him, if it was his time to
step down, then surely he would just come on and
say is my last show?

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Thanks team years hundreds of shows.

Speaker 4 (01:07):
But I hate to think cynically they've pushed him out
because they think The perception is that people don't like Robbo,
but the true fans of that show know that he
is just as important an ingredient as Jared.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Who's got all the crazy opinions and not so hot takes.
Sometimes is Robbo.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
You need the loose cash. Jared is the perfect football nerd,
but we need the madman.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
You need the yang to the yen. They're essentials.

Speaker 2 (01:33):
There's the dark side of the moon and the bright
side of the moon, and together.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
They are well. You used to love talking about the
moon on that show.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
They illuminated our front roomors in the evening.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
I generally thought there were great double.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
At yes and any time that Robbo was absent and
I'll turn on and it was one of the ex
players filling in, and that don't bother don't bothered to
get dry analysis.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Not just that they would always sit up right.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
What I like that Robbo was he would slump o
that gest like, actually he was chatting to you at
the bar, right, And I liked that guy character, Mam.
He's the every man. He's got to take on everything,
and in footy you've got to have so much coverage.
Here's that show four nights a week, it's a lot
to say about Footier, right, they're going to miss.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
Him, Yes, because he does it with emotion. He doesn't
do it from the head. He does it from the heart.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
This honestly would I mean for Jack and I they
take they've killed they've killed Lacey from Cagney Lacey. Those
two had chemistry and energy. You ever seen the work together.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
Pats Yeah, they're brilliant fourteen years.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
It's a great teach just going about what I just said, Well,
I about you, Patsy that pushed him out?

Speaker 3 (02:39):
No, no, no, what only Robbo has gone?

Speaker 4 (02:41):
Where are they going?

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Well, we seven poached them as well, because they.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
Poached everyone else. I don't think they're poaching Robbo. I
don't think.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
I don't think it's a poaching thing here. We need
to Why don't we start a podcast as in searching
for Robbo and actually call it three sixty on Football
three sixty as we invest to Gate Football three sixty
and search for Robbo. Now, there are a lot of
different people listen to the show. I'm betting one of
our listeners knows Robbo maybe does his gardens. Yep, I

(03:11):
imagine I'm passing right, I might be onto someone I'm
going to pull this thread. He's got good gardens and
maybe roses and stuff like that. And there's someone that
sorts out his borders in his garden right that I
can and actually get word to Robbo. Does he want
to come on this show tomorrow to say his goodbye?

Speaker 4 (03:28):
Piece is a safe place Robo on this show?

Speaker 3 (03:33):
We stand by Robo.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Maybe we need to start a petition bring back Robbo,
Save our Robbo. I generally thought it was a great
show those two together. I can't stand why they've gone.

Speaker 4 (03:43):
The problem is there are some loud trolls and we
actually work with one sadly that don't like Robbo, and
I think that whoever the powers of Beard Fox has gone.
All right, let's listen to the trolls.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Rio, what is your problem with Robbo? I wish him well.
He not what you said.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
You asked why I was crying before the show today,
and I'm telling you now.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
They've killed Robbo. He's not my cup of tea? What
does that mean? What is your cup of tea?

Speaker 1 (04:09):
I find the show to just be like Robbo making
some crazy bombastic point Jared that going well what about this?
And then Robber goes ah, yeah, good point, and then
move on to the next pic.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
And his people like you, the youth of Australia that
forced Robbo out of a job.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
I hope he finds somewhere else for you know, elderly
people like.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Yourself either have a hot take on you that's just
short today.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
I'm sure he would, but he's not allowed to say it.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
He would say the things that other journalists were too scared.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Too would never cross their mind.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
He speaks for us, he's us. I just realize what
we're dealing with here.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
They always come for the truth sayers and they take
them in the middle of the life. Suddenly he's there
last week and it's all good, and then suddenly he's
gone over the weekend.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Well we're distracted showing a Grand Final. They're putting a
hood over his head where.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
He is driven out right now to country, getting dumped
out there, and.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
They'll replace him with some voice of football that they.

Speaker 3 (05:20):
That the reason.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Week football.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
I don't want a reason. Please, does anyone know Robbo?
Get word to him. This is a safe space. He
can use our microphones to say his final words.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
