Speaker 1 (00:00):
Bother manware. Have you been the man with a thousand kids?
Have you seen that Netflix documentary? We had that dude
on a couple of days ago. He hung up on
us because I think we were the only people in
the world to ever challenge him. Are you addicted to
spreading your seed? Well, the guy doesn't usually talk, Kyle.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
He does videos where no one can challenge him. But yeah,
getting him on the show, he agreed to talk to us,
and then obviously it went a little pear shaped and
didn't go his way. But the guy has done something
that you know isn't right. He has donated his sperm.
Now there is a limit on how much you can donate,
(00:41):
just purely because of inbreeding, you know.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Exactly, So those sort of requirements are in place with.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
All sperm, absolutely, and he they believe is easily a
thousand children out there because of how much he makes
up fake profiles and fake names, goes to different countries
and he's spreading at every This.
Speaker 1 (01:00):
Has affected an Australian family, which surprised me.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
A Sydney couple Laura and Kate, and we have Laura
joining us in studio in the morning.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
Laura, you're good.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
You heard you heard us interview this guy, the man
with a thousand kids, and you were a recipient of
his sperm, not in the traditional dating way, But did
you access his sperm to help you create a family?
Speaker 4 (01:26):
I did, Kate, and I access his sperm through Cryos International,
which is an international sperm bank in Denmark, and we
imported it for treatment in the act and it was successful.
It was successful.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
Why did you find how did you find this guy's
load as opposed to all the others on offer?
Speaker 4 (01:46):
Well, Chrios International is a huge sperm bank basically, and
they screen donors stringently to make sure they meet all
the requirements, genetic and familial information, research on the donor's background,
profiles about there that you know why they're donating, You
(02:06):
get a letter to explain you know why they're donating
and what's.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Important to know who is going to make up the
you know, the essence that's with you to make this child.
Speaker 4 (02:18):
That's right, I mean, wanted to go through a sperm
bank because obviously going through a sperm bank you expect
to be to be protected sure by law. With the
number of donor children that are out in the world from.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Did you get the real profile of him or a
fake profile. You obviously get an alias name because the
donor's identity isn't known to you or your child until
they're eighteen. Okay, and so how did you work out
that this guy on the Netflix special is the same guy?
Speaker 1 (02:46):
And we you're horrified.
Speaker 4 (02:48):
My partner and I were extremely horrified and shocked because
obviously we were tipped off on a Facebook group looking
for siblings. Obviously we wanted to find siblings as as
soon as we could for our son. He was very
small at the time, and unfortunately someone said, I'm really
sorry to tell you this, but he is a cereal
sperm downer in the Netherlands and there are hundreds, if
(03:11):
not thousands of children out there.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
And it was this before the special came out that
you found that out.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
Yes, our son's six or nearly six.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
You've watched the Netflix special. Yes, and when you see
the govermentary, oh, you're on it. When you see it,
does it make you feel yucky or conned or are
you happy with You've still got a beautiful young son,
which is beautiful.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
We've got two children, which is a real blessing. Obviously,
the gratefulness and the embracing of having children has been amazing.
I would never change it.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
That's the great positive.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
We've been through a lot to have them.
Speaker 1 (03:49):
It could be hoodwinked almost like do you think you're
getting one thing but you're being served another. That that's
a yucky part, right.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
That's horrible because we were guaranteed five families worldwide in
order to come into Australia, they have to meet that
strict compliance, which is obviously, as we know now, is
not strict legislation.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
So we sidestepped the rules somehow, yes.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
By donating to other clinics and privately as well, all
around the world.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
You know, if there are around others in Australia, are
the children from me?
Speaker 4 (04:15):
We haven't found any others in Australia as yet, but
we expect there's up to between five and ten, you know,
maybe five to ten families in Australia.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
Right, Wow, isn't that?
Speaker 1 (04:26):
This is all wonderful that people have got children, But
no one wants to feel that. It's like buying a
car and funny and that's not really a Ferrari. It's
a Mazda RX seven painted with Ferrari badgers.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Well, I mean it's interesting that, like, now you know,
there's a thousand other brothers and sisters out.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
At least he's got a lot of siblings.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Is there a Facebook group for those children?
Speaker 4 (04:50):
There is, there's a big Facebook group. We connected with
that group very early on in the piece. Our son
wasn't twelve months old?
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Have they been supportive? And have you found some solace
in that we have?
Speaker 4 (05:01):
I think that's been the biggest takeaway for us, as
knowing who the donor is very early for our children,
so that we can prepare them for the information that
we have at hand.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
There's going to be a lot of questions in the future, isn't.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
There There is?
Speaker 4 (05:12):
And obviously they're connecting with their siblings early, so we
know we have connections with some very very amazing families
and children that are already part of the part of
our story.
Speaker 1 (05:20):
He didn't like it when I accused him of being
a serial sperm donator. No, he wouldn't, because it's very
agitated and hung up.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
And I'm glad that you actually raise that with him,
because no one so far has actually challenged why what
his motives?
Speaker 1 (05:33):
No one's in the whole world has challenged this guy
ever just me.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
Look, they've been delicate.
Speaker 4 (05:38):
The interviews are being delicate because they obviously want him
to participate and they know that if they challenge him,
that's going to be over.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
It's going to be over like it was with the
it was with us.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:47):
Yeah, there is a God complex going on, absolutely, and
the motives are very questionable. Obviously, there's the altruistic side
of things, which was the original motivation for donating. And look,
we set for the behavior of the donor from our
children's genetic makeup, because I agree.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
Because it's all in the way you raise the children.
Speaker 3 (06:06):
That's right. We don't.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
And he's not like he seems normal. He just has
this one weird addiction, like I've got it smoking addiction,
just as we I would.
Speaker 4 (06:16):
Say, it's an addiction. And I actually said that in
the documentary too. That really Yeah, And it was important
to be part of it, not for our own personal gratification,
but for actually getting the information out there into the
world about the fact that when people choose to use
donor gaments, which is the sperm and egg that you
can access for treatment, it affects everybody that has access
to that. It's not specifically just single women or same
(06:38):
sex couples, and with the male in fertility and the
female in fertility issues that are happening that are continuing
to increase.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
Over the years. People need access to donor sperm.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
And people need to know that they're landing in a
safe zone where what they say you're getting is what
you're getting, that's correct, that doesn't seem like a herd.
Speaker 4 (06:58):
They meet strict requirements what we were told. So obviously
there's a lot of loopholes in the law. There's a
lot of leaky, leaky.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
Ships, and you're talking about and.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
Egg donation, but it's more likely to happen with the
sperm doner's unfortunately.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
Your little fellas just gorgeous and wonderful, amazing.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
He's a gifted child. I love that, very very intelligent.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
He knows what we're doing by being part of this
and you know, obviously we don't share any negative information
or talk about the done and negative, but he does
know why. It's just there's too many siblings in the future.
It's about not just avoiding consanguinity, which is you know, interbreeding,
because we won't have that issue much in Australia, but
we'll wired it's a massive problem. Secondly, I guess we're
(07:41):
doing this to really show them that there shouldn't be
that many children in the world out there that are
related to you.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
Why these rules are in place if.
Speaker 4 (07:49):
They're a country that has the most amount Netherlands, Netherlands,
Italy and human Germany.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
Wow, So when you're talking the Netherlands are like, how
how many are in sort of like the one area,
like quite a large number.
Speaker 4 (08:05):
From what we know in Holland there's there's up to
or if not more than, five hundred children.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
Huh.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
So that's insane how he's done that.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
You see TV shows all the time over the years
where there's there's there's a brother and sister that don't
know they're related, but they end up together because siblings
are attracted to each other if they don't know their siblings,
that's right. So the chance of this creating a problem
absolutely in the Netherlands or in.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
The Netherlands places like that.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
If you're meeting someone, you probably need to ask you
were you from IVF for a start, even Yeah, just
to establish.
Speaker 4 (08:42):
It that it's it's the responsibility of the don't a
child or don't adult you can see adult, the responsibility
has fallen on them, which is awful. Yeah, that he's
placed that responsibility exactly. People to now have to do that.
And it's not just our children, it's a great children,
a great great grands spreads.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
It goes on and on forever.
Speaker 4 (09:02):
And it's not going to be in the hot seat
like it is at the moment, so it'll be forgotten.
It could be a real risky, really risky.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
God, you're very brave for getting on there and telling
your side of the story, which.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
We felt that we needed to Kyle, because quite frankly,
this doesn't happen every day. Obviously, there are spam doners
out there that are doing this on a mascale. They
work with each other sometimes and it's one of those things.
The motivation for it is really not explored enough. There's
not enough support out there. There's not enough evocacy for
what's happening. But we need to make it clear in
(09:34):
the law what the limits are and actually screen that
on an international level.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Sure, exactly, it's just not happening. Like the world's so connected,
it feels like they're running like nineteen eighties programming in
the background, like surely you can get I can get
pulled over in America and pulled on my New South
Wales driver's license out and they can check me. Surely,
IVF needs to be all working together all over the
(09:58):
world with one day out base, so you can't have
needs to happen these crazy jerk off guys running around
to every little place.
Speaker 4 (10:07):
Yeahs causing problems like in New South Wales. There's a
there's a five family limit for each for an for
an international spam downer worldwide. That's what we were told,
five families, five family limit worldwide.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
But you're saying that doesn't include.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
That doesn't include every other country that they've been able
to import or donate to, and then every state and
territory that has their own separate regulations or legislation.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Have you live every day or you don't think about
it all day every day?
Speaker 3 (10:35):
Do you don't think about it all day every day?
Speaker 4 (10:37):
Goodness, Because we're at the point now where we've known
this for quite quite a few years. That doesn't mean
that takes away from the power of what we're experiencing.
And obviously, you know, mental health needs to be supported
and we need to have families, you know, working with
us and being able to talk to other people that
are experiencing the same thing that we are.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
Well, the good thing is that you've had baby, two babies. Now,
that's wonderful.
Speaker 4 (11:01):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (11:02):
Yeah, And there's just this one little weirdo that's sort
of that's sort of I don't know, discolored your joy us.
Speaker 2 (11:08):
He's not still doing it, though, is he.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
We suspect that he is.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
Yeah, right, he said that he stopped donating in twenty nineteen,
officially for first families, and we know that he's still
helping people have siblings for well, obviously if you've got
one child, then if you want to have another one,
he's he's helping. Yeah, he's helping those families have other families. Yes,
(11:34):
but we know that he's creating new families, and that
what he's saying about stopping donating in twenty nineteen as well,
it's not true.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
It's not true. Maybe counsel stopping donating, but.
Speaker 2 (11:44):
They need to, yeah, stop this guy, they really do.
But Laura, thank you so much for coming on the show.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
Store.
Speaker 4 (11:51):
There's a lot more that I could share with you,
but it's a very short segment, so.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Sure that we could talk about this for hours.
Speaker 2 (11:58):
Yeah, it's seem fascinating, the man with a thousand kids.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
It's definitely watched this space.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
Any other info that comes up that you want to
get out, let us know. Thank you, thank you, bless
you and your beautiful family.
Speaker 4 (12:11):
Thank you.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
I really appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
Carfin, You're welcome. Thank you, Laura. See, nothing's nicer like
Father's Day for me. Yesterday was so joyous, Happy Father's Day.
Speaker 2 (12:19):
Oh yeah, I did spend a lot of the day
plotting and planning revenge on Steve Price.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
That but I did that with my child. My child
made him like a macaroni Steve Price, and then we
just we smashed it with the hammer. Good dad. Yeah,
you're bought. Didn't sender this bloke in the Father's Day
cardayth No, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 4 (12:40):
I mean, obviously we're very thankful for him donating regardless
of the circumstances. But of course we celebrated our grant
my dad, he's grandfather.
Speaker 3 (12:49):
Yes, that's very much.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
I love that. Yeah, thanks for this sharing, very very
personal story. Thank you.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
It's needed.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
Obviously we don't want to share that much person some information,
you know, just.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
A photo of the bloke before.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
Do you get childhood photos?
Speaker 1 (13:06):
I'm not not adult photos.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
Not adult photos.
Speaker 4 (13:08):
As part of their crooss profile, your son looked like
him very much.
Speaker 3 (13:13):
He's a big resemblance.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
Yes, well he's not. He's not a bad looking founder.
He looks a bit like Conrad's soul. Don't you think
like Conrad's my friend? We want to charge.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Saying to Conrad's you know, also donating a thousand.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
Sperm, but not the official way.
Speaker 4 (13:29):
His profile said he looked like Robert Plant and Brad
Pitt and potentially Chris Hamsworth's.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
Right, general, that's pretty accurate.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
It is pretty accurate.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
Yeah, because he's not a bad looking rooster and chows.
Speaker 4 (13:43):
Him because of the resemblance with with my partner. So
it's good. We've we planned it pretty well. But we
didn't obviously see that he'd be.
Speaker 1 (13:53):
A whack job in the background. You didn't realize that.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
But yeah, serious reforms needed. I'll do anything that I
can to contribute to that.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
And if we can help out in any way for reform.
Speaker 3 (14:02):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (14:03):
Let us let us know.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (14:05):
And what I mean is if we have to sign
a letter, sure, I don't number that you might show
up with a placard. Jack jumps on all the band
wagons lesbian right, She's always waving the flag. Carole and
Jackie O.
