This week I challenge you to tap into both your masculine and feminine energies. From being in boss mode, feeling confident and focused, to being in touch with your intuition, creativity and inner wisdom - these energies serve different, essential purposes.

In this episode I explain how to identify when you're in masculine or feminine energy, allowing you to use each for their highest purpose. I share some examples of when I was unbalanced with these energies, what happened for me and our family as a result, and how achieving balance changed the game for me.

(00:25):
This is Rise and Conquer, the podcast where we strive
to become the highest version of ourselves through curious conversations,
healthy mindsets, laughter, connection, and a deep desire to evolve.
I'm your host, Georgie Stevenson. Join me as we explore parenthood, business, manifestation,

(00:51):
and so much more.

Speaker 2 (00:52):
It's positive, it's.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
Practical, and it's about putting you in the driver's seat
of your own life. Are you ready? Hello, my loves,
and welcome back to the podcast. So today I am
going to be chatting all about masculine and feminine energy.

(01:14):
I actually did a podcast about this, I want to say,
like years ago, and I remember when I did a
podcast about this. I had some interesting comments. I don't
think people had heard about this language yet, and they
thought it meant male and female. But we're not talking
about male and female. We're talking about masculine and feminine energy.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Another great way.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
To think about it is your yin and yang energy.
Now everyone has both, so we all have masculine energy
and we all have feminine energy. It doesn't matter what
gender you are. It's really about this concept of tapping
in to either the masculine or the feminine and really

(02:05):
using it as a superpower. I have been doing this
for years since I kind of found out about these concepts.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
And my journey with tapping into.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Masculine or fem energy really happened when I entered a
burnout period where no matter how healthy I ate, how
much sleep I got, I was so tired. And I
remember seeing someone and they spoke about the concept of

(02:43):
masculine fem energy, and they were saying, how well, I
think you've been in your masculine energy for way too long,
and so if you ever want to feel like you're
not tired, it's time to switch into your fem energy.
And I really didn't understand. And at this point in
my life, I was like doing hit workouts every morning.

(03:06):
I had just started, well not started, probably like two
or three years into naked harvests, and I was just
going for it, and.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
I was very much in my masculine energy. Let me
actually just kind of.

Speaker 1 (03:21):
Explain what masculine and feminine energy is. Let me just
break it down for you. Masculine energy is all about structure, discipline,
and direction. It's what drives us to set goals, create
plans and really like stay focused on what needs to

(03:41):
get done. It's like that get shit boss mode. And
when we're in our masculine energy, we generally feel confident, assertive,
and in control. Think about it, like when you're just
like checking off your to do list, hitting milestones, hitting goals.
That is masculine energy. Now on the other side, we

(04:02):
have feminine energy. So this is the energy of flow, intuition,
and creativity. It's about being receptive rather than taking charge.
And it basically allows us to tap into our inner
wisdom and feel into situations and basically be more present.

(04:28):
And when you're in your feminine energy, you're more focused
on the journey rather than the destination. You're more focused
on how you actually feel in this moment than the destination.
And so you know you're in your feminine when you
feel inspired, creative, and connected to your emotions and like

(04:51):
the world around you and like what's happening around you.
And for me, I know I'm in my masculine energy
if I'm like doing thing, but also when I'm kind
of like future tripping, like when I'm too much in
the future.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
And basically the.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
Role of each energy is very, very important.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
We need both energies.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
For example, like we need the masculine energy to create
structure and give us direction in our lives, and this
is the energy that is going to help us set boundaries,
achieve goals, and bring ideas into your reality. And without
your masculine energy, you kind of might feel like you're
just like floating through life. So if you kind of

(05:37):
feel like limbo floating through life, that's when you know
you need to step into masculine energy. Whereas on the
flip side, we know we need feminine energy just as much.
And feminine energy helps us pause, reflect and connect with
our inner self. It's what fuels our creative it helps

(06:01):
us rest and recharge, and it really keeps us connected
to our intuition. So it allows us to let go
of like rigid control and flow with life. And without
feminine energy, we'd burn out, we'd lose touch with our purpose,
and we would miss the sweetness of life. So do

(06:24):
you see how we really need both, and I guarantee
you're listening to this thinking or I know which one
I'm in, and now I realize what I need to
step back into balance. I found out about this concept

(06:46):
when I was very in my masculine and very out
of my feminine. And if you're living too much in
your masculine energy, it feels like you're always on the go,
your constant working, you're checking things off, you're not having
any time to rest and reflect, and you will absolutely

(07:07):
start getting burnout signals like I did when I just
it felt like no matter how much sleep I got,
how much good food I ate, I felt always tired.
And I feel like when you're too much in your
masculine you honestly like miss joy, like you don't have
a lot of joy in your life. And then on

(07:28):
the flip side, if you're living too much in your
feminine energy, you're, like I said, you're going to feel
like you're floating. You're not really grounded, you're not really
making progress, and maybe you're kind of like you're dreaming
and you're thinking and you're brainstorming, but you're not actually
taking action. And you know you're in your feminine too much,

(07:49):
if you feel stuck, if you feel like you can't
make a decision, and if you feel like you're even
like overwhelmed with all the possibilities. Personally, I've experienced.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Both, but way more out.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
Of balance with my masculine.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
That is like my go to.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
That's I feel like if you're a type A personality
like me, you will be way too in your masculine. So, guys,
why this is important, Why I'm bringing this up. What
I had to do was to step out of the
masculine was slow down, Like I started stop doing you know,
hit workouts. I started doing walks or yoga and plarties,

(08:32):
and I started waking up and just like asking myself,
what do I actually want to do today? Like what
does my body need? How do I feel? It's very
like checking in with yourself reflective energy, and slowly but
surely I was able to step out of the imbalance
and be in balance.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
And I truly believe when you're.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
In balance with your masculine and you're feminine, that is
the sweet spot. You feel on top of the world
because you have goals, you have clarity, you're making decision,
the ball is moving, but you're enjoying the journey, you're
staying present, you're not comparing yourself to others, and it

(09:21):
is honestly sweet spot Like to be imbalance with your
masculine and feminine is incredible and it's really where we
want to be. But in saying that you will go
in and out, it's then up to you to come
back in balance and know, like the season you need
to go internex. So I thought i'd give you guys

(09:44):
some like practical ways to tap into each energy. Because
also if you currently feel like you're just doing doing doing,
and you're burnt out and you've got no business ideas
and you're not creative, you can then use your feminine
energy and into your feminine energy to start getting business ideas,

(10:05):
to start feeling more joyed, to start feeling more present.
Whereas if you feel like you're going nowhere fast and
you have no clarity, then it's like, okay, it's time
to tap into the masculine and let's feel some momentum.
So again, you need to start just like feeling into
where you're at and what you need. So let's start

(10:27):
with the masculine energy. So if you're feeling ungrounded, you're
lacking direction, you're feeling like too floaty, and you're like, Okay,
I've been in my feminine for a while, amazing, let's
move more into the masculine. Some tips for that is
to start setting clear goals, actually create a roadmap for

(10:51):
what you want to achieve. I'm actually creating a New
Year's course right now. That's all about creating goals bit
from this beautiful authentic place because I think, like a
lot of us, we will create these like ego goals
and then you kind of go and achieve them, and
then you don't feel satisfied because it came from this

(11:11):
like ego centric place. It didn't actually come from like
your most authentic, higher self place. So I'm creating a
course about that. And it's really cool because I'm giving
you like an actual blueprint of Hey, here's how I
want you.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
To create goals.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
Side, don't giving you a little snake bake, but basically
you want to set some clear goals. So I know
it is getting close to the end of the year,
like it is November, but this could be very simple
of I want to post on social media at least
twice a week. I want to go to yoga at

(11:47):
least three times a week. Yoga is the feminine act,
but the masculine is actually setting the goals and having
the discipline of going, if that makes sense. So like
setting goals doesn't mean these have to be like really harsh,
not conscious goals, but it is really beautiful of just

(12:09):
being like, Okay, I still want to enjoy the journey,
but like where am I going?

Speaker 2 (12:14):
What do I currently want?

Speaker 1 (12:15):
We're in November, and so we are coming up to
that Christmas time, we are coming up to when we
generally maybe do drink a bit more and eat all
the yummy foods and whatnot. So like maybe for you
it's just being really health conscious now and meal prepping.

Speaker 2 (12:32):
The last couple of months is honestly just being a
bit of a shit show for me.

Speaker 1 (12:36):
But before that I was going to the markets every
Saturday and then like buying organic fruit and veg and
meal prepping and making beautiful soul cookers in the winter,
and I haven't done that in a couple of months.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
So like, my goal.

Speaker 1 (12:48):
This weekend is to go to the markets and create
like a beautiful, wholesome meal for my family. Another thing
you could do is establish a routine, so you could
like structure your that supports those goals, or like you know,
booking for certain gym classes even like just like booking
and like friend time, actually having a Okay, I need

(13:11):
to fill up my cup in these three ways, I'm
gonna put it in my calendar. And then I would
also say visualization and like doing visual meditations is masculine energy.

Speaker 2 (13:26):
So you might think, oh, that's like.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Visualization and manifestation is we No, visualization and manifestation is
actually quite a masculine energy because you're literally directing your
energy and you're telling the universe this is what I want.
You're imagining yourself stepping into this like strong confident version

(13:48):
of yourself, and you're being very clear, and so I
would say that's a masculine action. Honestly, guys, visualization will
change your life if you don't actively visualize now life changing.
I honestly believe like everything I have created, I have

(14:10):
seen it before in my mind.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Even right now.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
I have a lot of stuff happening personally in my life.
There's a lot of moving parts, and it has left
me a bit overwhelmed, And honestly, what's getting me through
is this beautiful ten minute visualization that I do on
the Rise app where I am just envisioning universe. This
is what I want, this is how I want it
to play out. Even if it doesn't exactly play out

(14:39):
that way, that's okay. But I am like taking the
masculine action. I am doing what I need to do
in this situation by doing that visualization. Okay, So let's
talk about then how to tap into you your feminine energy.

(15:02):
So this is like if you're experiencing burnout or if
you feel disconnected from yourself, try these So practice mindfulness.
So this can be you know, like meditation journaling, but
it could literally just be being present. A great exercise
you can do literally right now. You don't need anything.
You don't need an app, you don't need music. Anything

(15:25):
is just lock into your five senses. So what do
I see, what do I smell, what do I taste?

Speaker 2 (15:33):
What do I here?

Speaker 1 (15:34):
And what do I feel? And just lock into that
And that's you locking into the present moment. But otherwise meditation, journaling,
simple breathing is really important. Another way that you can
tap into your feminine energy is creating space for creativity.
So a lot of people are like, oh, I just

(15:56):
I'm not feeling creative, I've got no great business ideas
or whatnot. And then like I see their schedule and
they're like back to back meetings. They never have time
for themselves. You can't like force creativity to come to you.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
It needs space.

Speaker 1 (16:13):
And also how to get into your creativity is not
putting in your diary. This is when I'm thinking of
the business idea, it's it needs space and it needs
to come through like naturally.

Speaker 2 (16:24):
So start being.

Speaker 1 (16:26):
Creative in the sense of like painting, writing, cooking with
no specific outcome in mind. I learned this trick because
I had my daughter Ivy, and we started coloring in,
doing painting, cooking, playing make believe, and I noticed when

(16:47):
I had that time with her, I would actually be
so much more creative in my business or get really
cool downloads. And I had never done that before. I
had never really done activities that did not have an
outcome like I'm more like the mindfulness like let's do
a meditation, let's journal, let's do our vision board. But
I had never just done creativity for like the sense

(17:09):
or creativity, and I feel like that is how you
actually let it flow through. How else to tap in
your fem energy. It's honestly, guys, rest just snuffingness.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
I know we live in this day and age.

Speaker 1 (17:23):
Where it's like do more, do do do? And I've
got to get fit and I've got to achieve my
goals and blah blah blah, And yes, I love that,
but are you resting enough? Feminine energy thrives in rest
and relaxation and giving yourself permission to slow down and
recharge is like, for me, who's a type A person.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
Is really hard.

Speaker 1 (17:48):
I love to be productive, but it is life changing.
And again, I feel like this is something I've only
stepped into this year, resting and slowing down again. I
think Ivy has just changed my world because she has
made me realize that I don't always have to be productive.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
And achieving another business goal.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
If it's at the expense of my health or my
mental health, or time with my daughter or time with Tim.

Speaker 2 (18:16):
It's just not worth it. And so allowing time for.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
Rest and play where you're not achieving anything is so important.
And then I would say the last thing to tap
into your fem energy is tuning into your intuition, which
you guys know I talk a lot about when you
wake up in the morning, not planning what you're going
to do and having a morning. Maybe it's just once
a week where you're just like, I'm not going to

(18:42):
book anything in and I'm going to see what happens
or I'm going to see how I feel.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
I actually did that this morning.

Speaker 1 (18:49):
I didn't book in my usual gym class because I
just I haven't been feeling one hundred percent this week,
so I just wanted to take it easy. And then
I woke up and me and Ivy play and like
I slowly got up, and then a girlfriend texts me,
who's here from Melbourne, and she was like, hey, do
you want to grab coffee before I go to the
airport in half an hour? And I was like, yeah,

(19:11):
I can because I've got half an hour before I
have to get ready. And so I literally like, I live,
you know, two minutes away from the beach, and I
drove down and met her at the beach and we
had a matcher for half an hour, caught up, and
then I went home and got ready for work and
now I'm here and I was like, wow, that's so
nice because I didn't book something in. This like beautiful
thing came through. I just like listened to my intuition.

(19:34):
It was really beautiful, and I felt like my cup
was really filled up and it was exactly what I needed.
And I'm so glad I listened to my intuition. So yeah,
that is my recommendations and just a reminder to you
guys that we need both. But if you are in
one too much, you will start to get a negative

(19:56):
effect and vice versa.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
But again, it's beautiful.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
It's just telling us, Okay, cool, let's come back into
the other one.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
But I truly believe.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
You are the happiest, the most successful, the most content
when you have balanced your feminine and masculine energies. I
think also for me, I have had a lot of
progression in my relationship when I was able to step

(20:26):
into my feminine energy. So I've been with my partner
for what twelve or thirteen years since I was seventeen,
so we've gone through a lot of seasons together and
I was very much in my masculine energy for honestly
majority of our relationship. And Tim is very like I
wouldn't say he's dominant feminine energy because he definitely has

(20:48):
the masculine aspects, but he is very laid back. He's
very relaxed, he's very flow, he's a great manifesto, very
like receptive energy. So we you know, we have complimented
each other, but as I have become a mother and
you know, experience burnt out.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
It's a very.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
Interesting dance of me then stepping more into my feminine
and kind of having to have those conversations with him
of like, hey, I want to step more in my feminine.
I need you to do these things. So, for example,
our life now is I.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
Work and my husband stays at home with our baby.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
In the morning, you know, we tag teams every morning,
so either he goes or I go, and then I
go to work, and then when I get home, I
literally I get home, I don't do anything. I put
my bag away, and then I go straight into Ivy
time and my femme energy, where he cooks dinner. I

(21:51):
don't ever tell him what to cook for dinner. He
decides he cooks dinner. I go straight into mum mode
where I get Ivy ready for bed. We go and
have a shower together, We have some time together, and
then I come downstairs and dinners made it and then
like we're both tag team like cleaning up and stuff.

Speaker 2 (22:11):
But in saying that, that never used.

Speaker 1 (22:13):
To happen, and it felt like really hard because I
would be in my masculine energy all day at work,
and then I'd come home and I'd be in my
masculine energy to like get dinner sorted or like do ivy.
But I was then feeling resentment towards him because I
was in my masculine energy so much and I was

(22:34):
burnt out. So I had to have that conversation where
I didn't say the words I want to be my
feminine energy, but I explain I'm making decisions all day,
I'm doing things at work. When I come home and
have time with Ivy, I don't want to decide anything.
I just want to float around. And that is the vibe.
And it took an adjustment time because it was more

(22:55):
he was the floater and I was the more like,
all right, let's have this, let's start dinner, Whereas now
I get home, I don't ever tell him to start dinner.
He starts when he wants, but he knows I like
to have an early dinner and all those sorts of things.
But it was a conversation we had to have. So
if you do feel like you're too much in your masculine.

(23:16):
I guarantee your partner or whoever is in your environment
would be quite comfortable with you being in your masculine
and have maybe slipped more into their feminine to compliment you,
because that's only you can't have do masculines.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
It just it won't work.

Speaker 1 (23:32):
So you might have to reevaluate how they're feeling, if
they're able to step in different energy and that sort
of thing. If your partner's more in their feminine and
you're in your masculine, you come home and you go
straight to your feminine energy, but you don't have this conversation.
You're probably not going to eat dinner till eight pm,
do you what I mean? Or you're gonna be like,

(23:53):
why didn't you put on dinner and start a fight
and vice versa. Of like, maybe your partner is very
in their masculine and they decide everything and they organize everything,
and you're trying to tap into your masculine. So you
come in the kitchen and you're trying to make decisions,
and do you see how that's going to conflict. So

(24:13):
masculine and feminine energy is very important with the people
we're around, and if you are going to swap it,
I highly encourage you to have conversations around this and
really kind of just like feel into it and see
what is going to work for you guys. But that
was a little side note. Also, I wanted to let
you know we have dropped meditations and pep talks all

(24:37):
about stepping into your fem and masculine energies in the
Rise app, so if you want to come join us
in there. We also do have a promo right now
where you can get a week free, so I will
put that in.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
The show notes.

Speaker 1 (24:52):
And we also do have a lot of changes coming
with the Rise app. We used to do a lot
of video and workbook content and we're shifting now all

is a really exciting shift coming. I don't think that's

(25:14):
actually coming till December, but just giving you guys another
sneak peek.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
But my loves yes.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
