Speaker 1 (00:01):
Here at Two Good Sports, we would like to acknowledge
the traditional owners of the land on which we record
this podcast. There were innerie people. This land was never seated,
always was always will be. Hello and welcome to Two
Good Sports Sports News told differently.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Yes, what it's me, Georgie Tunney's done me. I'm happy
to jell me lovely to see him.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
I'm glad you haven't chosen to go on hiatus in
one of one of the biggest weeks in sports in
the country. It is just so exciting to be alive
in Grand Final week.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
If we sound a little bit delirious, dear listeners, because
we are, tell me and I are running on fumes.
Because this week and next week arguably the biggest weeks
in Australian sport when it's not an Olympic year.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
Good caveat, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Good caveat, Good caveat, because it is AFL Grand Final week,
which means a whole lot of lunches if you get
the invite. I've got none, but some people other people
they're lunching every day. I think every single meal they're out.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Do you know where we did get the invite to
the Penthouse and Crown which you've never seen. Okay, we
had the pleasure of interviewing Matt raw That is the
side note to what was you and I getting a
tour of the biggest hotel room we've ever seen.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Guys, guys, I don't think you understand this one hotel
room could sleep families plural comfortable apparently snoops in there
now with his forty people. The moment that there's more
negative space, and by that I mean there's more hallways
and random rooms that just seem to mean nothing.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Yeah, then there is space in my home.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
Yeah, I think by the twelfth chair of some kind
that I saw, I was like.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Oh, there's the boardroom that seats eighteen.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
Yeah, we aren't in Kansas anymore.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
We walk in and there as a bull table. That's
a full sized ball table. That's right, which is the
ultimate flex to noble. They're going unnecessary here. Anyway, we
were excited to speak to Matt Raw current and he
was very hungover at the time. Brownlow Medalist, but honestly
the best sport if I could nominate him for a
good sport for the rest of the year, and.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
By that I mean we've got two episodes episode for
the next two EPs, he was divine, absolutely divine.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
I would say that his personality is footy, sweetness and
footy like. He's just so lovely, so wonderful. I want
to pick him up, put him in my pocket, protect
him at all costs. Yes, he was divine. So I'm
so excited for you guys to listen to that chat
that is coming up before we get there, though, we
do have to do official good sport.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
That sport if I was going to pick another good
sport from that night. Now, if you're like me and
you're a bit of an impartial coming into this week's
AFL Grand Final, you're like Geelong, Yeah, okay, I mean
you've won a lot Brisbane Oh again?

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Great?

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Sorry, I'm so sorry, I must you're not impartial, you're
going for the Lions.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
No, see as a default time. I'm really not.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
You have no have to.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Well, you're deeply passionate about the line and you love me.
But I'm very good friends with Beck Madden. Oh yes,
who I saw almost throw herself from the third tier
at the MCG after they lost last year's prelim. She
cried and then had to go tonight on seven News
because it was a ten second turnaround from the end

(03:18):
of that game to they do a late news and
she's genuinely their number one fan. I watched her cry
and get her shit together. Yeah, because there were bulletins
to be read. So there's a lot of people I
know that are heavily invested, but me as a fan,
they're two very winning sides.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
So I'm like, no, who do I like?

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Enter the brownlow because I know who I want to
win everything now. And it's great that I mentioned Beck
because she is the one interviewing.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
This delightful, delightful human being.

Speaker 4 (03:46):
I know who it is.

Speaker 5 (03:48):
Domestic and family violence is very complex. What have you
learned and what do you want to help change?

Speaker 2 (03:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (03:57):
I think I've learned just the importance of role models
in the community, particularly as a sportsman and someone who
has a little bit of a platform within society, the
significance and the importance of making sure that we turn
up and behave well and really set good standards as
young men and hopefully those the next generation looks onto
that and then behave that same way, and they're creating

(04:19):
a really great example for the next generation.

Speaker 5 (04:22):
Okay, and just finally, would you like to see any
thank yous.

Speaker 6 (04:26):
Yeah, thanks very much. I'd like to thank Carolyn and
Craig Robinson for reaching out all those years ago. I'd
also like to just thank everyone, all the first responders
for all they do in Australia. Domestic and family of
violence is a major issue in Australia and I just
implore young young men and young people to educate themselves

(04:46):
and be better.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
Harris.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
Congratulations you are Lions Captain Harris Andrews talking after receiving
the Jim Steines Community Award.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
If they discover how to clone, people will take of
him just.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
Out in the community.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
For him in that room to stand up and say,
I implore people, but young men to be better.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Incredible.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
We are the pride of Bread. Because this man needs
a metal.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
Give him everything, give him everything.

Speaker 4 (05:19):
I just I'm protecting about Row at all costs.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
You are now protecting Harris Andrews at all costs right
at dawn.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
I just watched that and I just thought you wonderful,
lovely human being and if you're leading the club, I
wish you well. I wish you all well.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
But also because on this podcast, as our listeners would know,
we talk a lot about role models and a lot
of the time footy players doing everything they can to
run in the opposite direction of that tag, being like,
it's not for me, it's not for me, it's for.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
Me, and it's what makes headlines, right, Like if someone
drinks out of a toilet, obviously we're going to talk
about that because it's outlandish, and there's just you know,
there's other people that do the carpet and give you
a don't argue Hi Bailly sick because Georgie tried to
speak to.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
And got absolutely nowhere.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
And that's the stuff that it's attention seeking behavior, so
we give it the attention that the media demands. And
yet this quietly happens where someone is meeting victims of
domestic violence and he's working for charities, and there are
so many AFL players that do this, that go to
hospitals and go sit with kids and give their time.

(06:24):
I just Chef's kiss beautiful, love it win everything, amazing player.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
He might actually he could actually win.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
That's so right.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
I think this is where I give a public apology,
just as you say the Norm Smith to Geelong fans
last week's episode, I predicted that Tom Stewart was going
to win the norm Smith, and he got heavily concussed
and will miss the Grand Final. So I do apologize
for jinxing him.

Speaker 4 (06:54):
In that way.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
It was not my intention.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
I thought, you're gonnapologize for saying they all look the
same because you've viral.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
Perhaps absolutely not, that's just facts. Those are facts, okay.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
I said Nick da KOs was going to win it.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Oh, and he came the bridesmaid again, the poor bugger
in the give the man a Brownlow.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
What a beautiful segue that leads into my bad sport
of this episode. So yes, it also came from the
Brownlow ceremony, of which you were there the carpet.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
I was there on the carpet.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
I got to talk very briefly to Bailey Smith, but
I also got to talk to Nick Dakos, and he
was very nervous. You could tell that he thought he
was He thought he was going to win, because one
did he was two dollars fifty because everyone thought he
was going to win, right, I remember, I also asked
I had a chat to Noah Anderson, the captain of
the Suns and best mate of Matt Raw and he

(07:44):
was the only one that gave me of all the
people that I talked to or talked to Max Gorn,
he was the only one that predicted that Rowley might
win the whole thing. He was the only one that
mentioned matt Raw. And so when matt Raw won, I
mean himself, he was stunned. And we'll get to that chat.
But it was such a wonderful moment for him personally.
But the celebration in that room was great, and so

(08:06):
I found it a little bit odd. Dare I say
bad sportsman like that? The AFL chairman, Richard Goida got
up and this is the first out going chairman, outgoing chairman.
This is the first thing that he says. After Matt row.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
Is on the stage with the brown mile around his neck.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
Everyone is still clapping and giving him a standing standing ovation.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
Still sinking in for him that he's done it. Cripper's
up there, and this man says this.

Speaker 6 (08:37):
I know I speak on behalf of everyone in this
room in congratulating nik.

Speaker 7 (08:50):
Wait what.

Speaker 6 (08:53):
As the suns produced?

Speaker 4 (08:57):
Oh sorry, I thought you forgot who won the freaking medal?
Are you joking?

Speaker 1 (09:02):
That was the first thing that he says, with matt
Raw behind him wearing the brownlow I think I can
speak on behalf of everyone here, his dog, that person
that Nick Dekos. Oh my, it was given Kanye had
the best video of all time?

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Like, are you joking, Kanye?

Speaker 3 (09:23):
I think we've all agree, Beyonce and Beyonce, they cut
to Dekosh's like, I'd like to do a homosympcet into
the bushes. Yes, at this point, I don't need another
shot of me on camera all night.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
You've told me all everyone has told me I'm gonna win.
I didn't win.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
I don't put me on a leave me alone, and
then everyone's clapping me.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
Great, I didn't win and the winner is on the stage.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
What are you?

Speaker 4 (09:47):
I couldn't believe it.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
I think I couldn't believe a kind place he did
of wanting to acknowledge. And we know that Nick has
been and he's so young to have been favorite.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
For three years in a row, so he played.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
For I know he's just been.

Speaker 3 (10:00):
He's obviously runner up to Cripper, who had like an
outrageous amount of votes last year. So there was a
gaping chasm. And again it was so clear that Matt
Raw was the best player this year. He has the
perfect start.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
And people and what I would say, there has been
some commentary around the voting system.

Speaker 4 (10:17):
I mean, leave it alone.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
It's not an MVP, it's the best and fairest. Yes,
it's strange, just leave what else are we going to
talk about?

Speaker 5 (10:26):
Leave it alone?

Speaker 4 (10:27):
Leave Britney alone.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
But even in there's like from this is I am
summarizing here, But essentially I think there's like three games
that are.

Speaker 4 (10:35):
In biggest dispute.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
I say in air quotes as to whether or not
Matt Raw should have got three votes for them in
those three games if he only polled one, because if
he was pulling it well and it wouldn't matter he
won by that big of a margin. Like it's crazy,
na Zioway Miller is a different story. That's a different narrative.
The umpires were blind, deaf, and I don't understand.

Speaker 3 (10:55):
My favorite response is like, imagine walking away from that
since Kilda win and going to you know who monstered that,
Jack Viney, because that game alone got desire probably like
extra five ron ok on his contracts. He's now the
AFL's first two million dollar man because after that everyone
was like, throw the check book at him, because he

(11:17):
basically said everyone get on my back.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
I'm not losing this.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
It was the standout game of the year, the biggest
comeback in AFL VFL history, and they've gone.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
Three votes j Viney. But it did provide us the
great memes.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
The faces and the responses are just doneing amazing.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
The Melbourne Demons actually did the funniest thing ever.

Speaker 2 (11:38):
Oh, they've just leaned into it.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
And they leant in and they put Jack Viney three
votes and they said, what an amazing comeback winning by us.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
I have no bad memories of this Night's well done, Jack.

Speaker 3 (11:49):
In saying that apparently there was so many like he
laid an unbelievable amount of tackles.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
I think it was thirteen.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
And there's so much to be said about It's the
players that get the contested ball are the ones that
tend to poll well because you know, our umpires are
looking at the contested ball and when you lay a tackle,
they're the ones going well there, Like it's the visibility
of it. It's always going to be a midfielders medal.
It's like you never defenders if they pull like you
have to be basically Jesus back there because it's just

(12:16):
not going to happen.

Speaker 4 (12:17):
We'll start the campaign now for Harris Andrews.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
Obviously standard, but I think it's one of those things.
It's nuance to our game, it's nuanced to footy. It's strange.
I think the daim have a far better system. I
love the fact that you actually don't. You only see
the votes for half the count in the dallim.

Speaker 4 (12:35):
Quick, quick, quick, quickly. You can't be having enough quick sport.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
Andrew Dillon deciding to bolt out of the gates and
me being like, I might actually see the end of
this count by nine point thirty. Goddamn it, Channel seven.
We don't care about your highlight packages. Just let me
find out who the winner is actually.

Speaker 1 (12:52):
I spoke to Dill's on the carpet at Friend of
the Pod obviously, and I was like, how are you feeling?

Speaker 4 (12:57):
How what are the vocal warm ups?

Speaker 8 (12:58):
Like?

Speaker 4 (12:58):
What are you doing? Are we fo?

Speaker 9 (13:00):
What is it?

Speaker 4 (13:00):
What is the sound of music? Farlow? What is that
so fun?

Speaker 7 (13:04):
Do?

Speaker 2 (13:04):
Ray Me? Are you good?

Speaker 4 (13:06):
Out of the stroke?

Speaker 2 (13:09):
Is gonna know? Sound of music?

Speaker 4 (13:12):
I'm like, what are you doing? And he just goes, oh, yeah,
I'm just not spoken. He was like this, I'm not
spoken very much today, So I'm just gonna try and.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
Keep this, keep my voice okay, like this, And then
I was like, no wonder because he was prepping to
be like but la la la.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
Go so fast, very good, I think very nervous because
he actually started off reading the full names.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
Oh the first like the first one he went Georgie Tunney.

Speaker 3 (13:33):
And then when he got to the second game, he
was like, gee, tunny, Like is it I just think
would you would be nervous?

Speaker 4 (13:39):
Oh yeah, you'd been nervous.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
Imagine having to know how to perfectly pronounce every player
in the league.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
So funny you say that because I forgot that that's
what they did. And so when I remember it was
Hawthorne and it was like three votes je Yukim and.

Speaker 4 (13:51):
I was like, his fucking name is Jai.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
And I was like.

Speaker 4 (14:04):
He's had a finals campaign for the Ages on guys.
Dell's Dell's help me out, And I was like, oh,
that's me, that's not me. Yeah, sorry, Dill's that was
on me. Put my hands up, My bad, my bad?

Speaker 1 (14:17):
What an evening? What an evening? And you talk about
the contested ball? Can I just say that that's likely
who's going to win the Brown though we saw that
in Matt Row, because yes, his personality is sweetness and footy,
but on the football pitch, his personality is absolute bulldog
Ye chaos. I've never seen a more fearless player, and
he's had injuries and he still just runs.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
Apparently he personally owns seventy to eighty footballs.

Speaker 2 (14:44):
I'll give you the hot tip.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
The club have a few, so like you probably don't
need to have. But he just and I loved the
part of his speech that I really loved is he said,
I don't mean to sound arrogant, It's just this is
playing a Fels all I ever wanted and I just
had a belief that I was going to do it.
And I genuinely believe in the power of that vision
that like almost manifestation, it was all he ever wanted

(15:09):
and it happened for him. And that's where I think
it was just out of body for him to be
standing up there. And I am so on board with
the sons, you know. I love their pink guernsey and
I just feel that they're especially considering how well Anderson
pold as well.

Speaker 1 (15:26):
It's a true dynasty chat, it's a dimasty, it's a dimosty.
It's such a dimasty well done, says that somewhere. Yeah,
well should we should we do it?

Speaker 4 (15:37):
To the chat?

Speaker 3 (15:38):
Do you want to mention that you got a bit
nervous and did an intro that you didn't have to do.

Speaker 1 (15:43):
Okay, full disclosure, guys, I know that I just give
off professional films twenty four to seven.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
And another context, we're sitting like there's a lot of
people around that are listening into our chat management that
might have snapped their necks at different points.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
I'm sure you can pick which ones might be where
he said he passed out. They were like, wait, what what?

Speaker 3 (16:01):
But it was a really surreal moment to be there
in the penthouse having a chat, and again he couldn't
have been more lovely. But I'm like, George, over to you,
and you've just gone with I went with.

Speaker 4 (16:11):
A full show intro. Guys. So for the second time
in this episode, take it away me.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
It's coming up next.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
Oh we're ready to go without further ado. This is
too good Sports sports news told differently.

Speaker 4 (16:37):
I'm Georgie Tanney.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
I'm maybe Jelmy, And my goodness, do we have the
greatest interview of all time in the greatest interview location
of all time, because no one has ever seen a
Sweet or a hotel room quite like this.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
Oh my goodness, Matt raw Brow MYO Medalist twenty twenty five,
How have you pulled this off?

Speaker 4 (16:54):
Where are we?

Speaker 7 (16:55):
I don't actually know how we pulled this off, but
I got told this morning that there was a Sweet
ready to go. So yeah, I think it's one of
the nicest ones in Crown and I can't really believe
that they're in here.

Speaker 9 (17:07):
I can't believe how big it is and how many
rooms there are.

Speaker 3 (17:09):
You start the night obviously in a different room, and
then while you're out enjoying the celebrations, they're like, believe me,
we've moved your bag somewhere and there's a pool.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
Room you want to go that late?

Speaker 8 (17:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (17:17):
Basically I was just in a in a pretty normal
room last night. Yeah, it's pretty stock standard, and then
I've I've rolled up to to this room this morning
pretty hungover, I have to say as well. So yeah,
but it's nice. I mean that the views are unbelievable,
like three sixty greet views.

Speaker 9 (17:36):
Yeah, pretty cool to.

Speaker 4 (17:37):
Be and all you had to do was winter have
to do?

Speaker 2 (17:40):
Is been the best player in the national competition. It's
just the way that you're treated. Snoop Dogg apparently's hiding
in a room.

Speaker 1 (17:45):
Yeah, how do you feel in all seriousness seriousness though rally, like,
how has it sunk in?

Speaker 9 (17:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (17:53):
I think it's slowly sinking in, like like last night,
Like I don't think it's sunk in at all.

Speaker 4 (17:59):
When did you actually twigged that ship I'm gonna win.

Speaker 7 (18:05):
Well, probably when it was actually official, to be honest,
you know, the heap By declared, probably gave it away.
And even when I when I went up there on
stage and you know, Patrick Cripps put the medal around
my own neck, I was like I still didn't really
believe it. And it was like looking down the metal,
like you know, I've grown up like watching the brown

(18:26):
Low and to be up on stage, Yeah.

Speaker 9 (18:30):
It was just yeah, it was so surreal really, so
I think.

Speaker 7 (18:34):
It's it's so keen maybe a little bit this morning
being up here in this week.

Speaker 3 (18:40):
You do mention, though, kripp but he's the only one
that's actually ever polled more votes than you, and you
do join such an illustrious club, and we understand that
lucky Neil might have even given you a buzz this morning.

Speaker 2 (18:49):
That's really lovely.

Speaker 9 (18:50):
Yeah, no, that was really nice.

Speaker 1 (18:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (18:53):
I was see next to my manager this morning having
some brecki. Yeah, and he called he got Tommy and
then passed the phone over to me and just congratulated me.

Speaker 4 (19:03):
So yeah, words of wisdom.

Speaker 7 (19:06):
Uh no, he just said enjoy it. Really so but
he didn't have to do that.

Speaker 9 (19:11):
That was. That was really nice of him. And you
know he's he's a very good player. Respect him a lot.
So that was. That was a cool phone call to get.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
I'm glad to see you sitting here with the brownlow
actually around your neck because I understand that it went
walk about some stage.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
We've had some charge or we've got to you.

Speaker 7 (19:30):
Yeah, well I think we'll pass in the middle around
a bit last night and I might have passed out
at some stage and then and then yeah, the metal
might have been with someone else. I woke up and
you know, it was like where is it? But but
he was in good hands, you know, Yeah, it was.

(19:52):
It was always in good hands. So I'll say that
someone had it and it got back to me. So yeah,
the people in the room were We're very trustworthy.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
So we would have to guess that your mum would
have got three votes last night.

Speaker 3 (20:04):
We absolutely love her and that video of you guys
having that beautiful hug.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
Afterwards, we did just bump into your sister as well,
and she's like, I was in my pjs.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
Yeah, I wasn't ready for this, and then all of
a sudden they were thrown into the celebrations. When you
do win a brown Low, though, you naturally reflect on
your journey and how many times you were dropped at
oz kick and that you loved your assex since you
were ten. We bloody love that getting a bit of
a brand drop in there as well. But when you
reflect upon that journey, how special was it to hug
your family and have them here too?

Speaker 9 (20:30):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (20:31):
Oh yeah, very special? Like that means everything. Yeah, like
I said in my speech, like I don't think there
could be a more supportive family really growing up. You know,
two sisters, I'm in the middle, and yeah, they you know,
they keep me grounded. They don't get don't let me
get away with anything.

Speaker 2 (20:50):
But people think having brothers prepares you for AFL.

Speaker 9 (20:53):
No, no, because.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
Sisters will not give you an inch.

Speaker 7 (20:55):
Yeah, yeah exactly, But you know they you know, they
wouldn't care if I was playing really well or not,
like they just don't support me through do anything.

Speaker 9 (21:07):
And yeah, Mum and Dad as well.

Speaker 7 (21:10):
Like like they supported me with I always wanted to
be a footballer and you know they Mum and Dad
drove me so like to trainings and games like when
I was growing up and you know, never missed out
on anything. But no matter what I did, they would
have they would have supported me in whenever I did.
So to have their have them there last night was yeah,

(21:33):
it was pretty special. And to hug them after afterwards
was yeah, a cool, cool, cool experience.

Speaker 4 (21:40):
Did you have you heard from your mum this morning?
She around here, Like.

Speaker 7 (21:47):
Yeah, I mean I have. I've hardly been on my
phone this morning, Like I haven't even seen my phone.
So but I was talking with my sister Mags this
morning because she's here, and I think Mom still passed out.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
So Hash Brown's happening too. That's receivers that you want
in this place. There's hash Brown.

Speaker 7 (22:04):
Yeah nor but yeah, Mum went hard last night, so
so a lot of people.

Speaker 9 (22:09):
So yeah, well.

Speaker 4 (22:10):
If you can't do it when you've won a Brown, though,
when you're gonna do it.

Speaker 7 (22:13):
Well exactly, that's right. That was the scene of the
night last night.

Speaker 3 (22:16):
And you do mention people that have been there on
the journey with you, Noah Anderson one as well. The
fact that the two of you pold so well is
literally an afl first, how well you happen to achieve
as a team.

Speaker 2 (22:26):
The sons are just on the up.

Speaker 3 (22:28):
They're out there. I'm gonna say I'm on board massively.
And I always loved Damian Hubwick. He's a storyteller. He's
a man that loves to get people involved. What was
the strangest story or theme that he's thrown at you?
Because he loves a theme, doesn't he demo? He loves
He loves to tell you a bit of a story
or a narrative to get you into things.

Speaker 7 (22:46):
Yeah, no, he he does love a theme. We usually
go in blocks of like four games, so we'll have
something like per month, like I remember like not this year,
but last year, his first year, there was a there
was a Bison block, which is like the Bison like
if a storm comes and like stands in the storm,

(23:08):
it doesn't run away, So it's like kind of like
big Boy Month.

Speaker 3 (23:12):
So that was kind of that is that entailed, do
you just become Storm Weather instead of going to reins coming?

Speaker 2 (23:18):
How do I hide you like I'm the Bison. I'm
built for this.

Speaker 1 (23:21):
I mean, while you're in Starring and Twisters, I know
too much about bisons.

Speaker 7 (23:28):
Oh yeah, it's kind of like that. But he's had
a lot of good, good ones as well this year.
Loved his American sport, you know, NFL, and he's a
very he's a very good motivated So yeah, I really
love those.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Our next couple of questions, Raley, if you will so
entertain us, do you have some visual prompts.

Speaker 2 (23:47):
If that's okay?

Speaker 4 (23:48):
So, some involve fashion, some involve just general knowledge. Quick fire.

Speaker 1 (23:53):
All right, we do a thing on this podcast where
I potentially give different jobs to a f L players aesthetics,
and I am on the recorder saying that I thought
that you'd be a great acting extra in Game of Thrones.

Speaker 2 (24:08):
She went as far as to say that you had
your notebook because you were learning the lines. Yeah, Storm
would have been King of the North.

Speaker 1 (24:17):
Now I am on the record of saying that Noah Anderson, Lovely,
one of your best mates, would be a tennis instructor
in a different life.

Speaker 4 (24:24):
What do you think he would be?

Speaker 2 (24:28):
Do you reckon if he's not an AFL.

Speaker 9 (24:30):
Player, that's a great question.

Speaker 7 (24:32):
I don't think it's tennis the spot.

Speaker 4 (24:40):
I reckon he could be a theater usher as well.
He could be an usher. He's a bit too tall,
but he'd be good at directing. Would he really would?

Speaker 2 (24:48):
He really would?

Speaker 4 (24:49):
Ben King, you can't tell me that that man's not
a chef.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
Yeah, he's cooking apparently you can see the hat on him.

Speaker 9 (24:56):
He wouldn't be a chef.

Speaker 2 (24:59):
What's your thick?

Speaker 7 (25:00):
What would he be?

Speaker 2 (25:02):
This is hard after a big night too.

Speaker 7 (25:06):
He loves he loves his reading in his book. So yeah,
maybe like, look, I've got one more.

Speaker 4 (25:15):
Who should we go?

Speaker 7 (25:16):
Okay, our Davies. That's that's a very interesting one.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
A backup dancer from you? Fit model good from you?
You've got model backup dancer?

Speaker 7 (25:31):
Yeah, I mean he could be backup there. He could
be a lot of things out. I think he's got
a lot of different talents. But one of them is
he's actually like he actually flies planes. Like yeah, he's
like he.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
We've made him a backup and he's a pilot, oh
my god.

Speaker 7 (25:48):
Yeah, Like he's working on his pilot license, I think
in his flowing planes before.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
So some people are that's crazy, Oh my god.

Speaker 4 (25:57):
Okay, well now I've gone.

Speaker 3 (25:59):
I've gone fashion estions for you, and you're gonna have
to cast your mind back to some of the great
men's looks that we've seen on the Brownlow red carpet,
because it's all about the girls, and honestly, they start
makeup in sweets like this at about eight thirty in
the morning.

Speaker 2 (26:10):
There's a lot of who are a lot of photo shoots.

Speaker 3 (26:12):
But if you had to rock on the carpet, Patrick
Dangerfield's white suit circa a couple of years ago, he
went with the white jacket and the lapel, nat Fife's
cane Strong or the Sonnies that we saw last night
on Bailey Smith. If you had to elect one, you
can choose more than one, but one of the three to.

Speaker 9 (26:31):
Rock, that's a question.

Speaker 7 (26:36):
I feel like for me, I'd go the nat Fife
cane yeaheah. I feel like it's a bit more understated
than the others. So it's like you're not trying to
be too you know, to you cool and outlandish, but
you still got a bit of yeah, you know, maybe
a bit of aura, so.

Speaker 3 (26:52):
Still still commanding his bit of aura and can hide
behind back for photos.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
Oh yeah, and for surgery.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
Final questions from us rally, because you've been so generous
with your time, and.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
Look, because I think Snoop is I think he's needing
to come in.

Speaker 4 (27:06):
On the door, wanting us to get out.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
Last night such a wonderful night for you personally and
for all of your family. There were a couple of
controversial moments, namely Nasaiah with his three boats.

Speaker 4 (27:19):
What do you think? Sorry, his two? But would have
got three to that game? Yeah? What was that? What
was the feeling like in the room and were you
consciously watching it? Yeah?

Speaker 7 (27:29):
Oh yeah, yeah, well I think it would have been
similar to what you guys saw on TV. But it
was when everyone knew the game that happened and what
what what he did? So when he got called for
the two and said of the three, it was a
bit of a bit of a gasp around the room.
So yeah, no one could really believe that.

Speaker 8 (27:48):
But yeah, after ah, no, I knew the camera camera
was already locked off on him, so it just got
the reaction of being kind.

Speaker 2 (27:59):
Of stunned at his own result, which isn't too bad.

Speaker 3 (28:02):
But we do have another question for you, and again
we're taking nothing away from the winners last night a year,
but there has been discussion leading into this week as
to whether or not they should have mark or golid
the year inclusive of the finals and the prelims, given
some of the amazing ones that we've seen.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
In previous years.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
Would you like to see that change so it's just
basically the best mark or goal that we've seen so far,
rather than it being in the regular season.

Speaker 7 (28:26):
Ah, yeah, yeah, I think so, Like it's yeah, it's
a season as a whole.

Speaker 9 (28:34):
I think so you might as well. We were. I
think then the King was a disappointed that he didn't.

Speaker 7 (28:42):
Get Mark of the Year Mark of the year because
he had two pretty good ones. Yeah he has, so
he was a bit flat with that, but he was
still at the when.

Speaker 1 (28:53):
You're playing throughout the season and I mean, you polled
thirty nine was the final?

Speaker 4 (28:58):
What does the final count?

Speaker 2 (29:00):
Like?

Speaker 1 (29:00):
Are you thinking after certain games of now that I'm
getting three?

Speaker 3 (29:04):
Did you start your season being like I've been folawless?

Speaker 7 (29:08):
Oh? I know, to be honest, like a like I
knew going in that there was you know, that I was,
you know, a chance or like that. I was up
there with a few players, so I kind of took
it as it comes. And you do you do have
you know, you do remember games that you did well
in and you go, I could I could poll well here,

(29:29):
so yeah, you do chat with it, like with Nles
next to me and Jack as well, like oh yeah,
I could go right here.

Speaker 9 (29:37):
So yeah, well you.

Speaker 4 (29:39):
Didn't just do all right, your bloody won the whole thing.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
Yeah, And we just want to say thank you so
much for your time, and it genuinely couldn't happen to
a nicer person. And I think we started our podcast
and we believe in sport as being a real vessel
for people being able to be themselves and also to
be wonderful leaders.

Speaker 2 (29:55):
In the world.

Speaker 3 (29:56):
And Georgie and I both Rito's were the first people.
I think that that comes with being authentic and the
fact that you're an authentic person that loves your family.
You're a wonderful leader and we're just so wrapped for you,
and we hope that you only ever stay in the
presidential suite going forward.

Speaker 9 (30:12):
I hope so as well.

Speaker 7 (30:13):
Thanks thanks for having me on, guys, I really appreciate
it and your.

Speaker 2 (30:16):
Assex looks sensational.

Speaker 4 (30:17):
Yeah they do. Company man, can.

Speaker 3 (30:26):
You imagine having the biggest hangover of your life then
these two girls rock up, sit on a couch and
tell you a teammate's a chef and you just have
to be like.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
Oh, yeah, sure that one's a pilot.

Speaker 4 (30:37):
You can tell at that.

Speaker 3 (30:38):
Point he was having an outer body experience, going, look,
I love that these are different, but I don't have
this in me.

Speaker 2 (30:43):
I am tired.

Speaker 1 (30:45):
Can I just say a huge thank you too, Rowley
and everyone who helped us put that together at the AFL,
and our producers who turned it around so quickly because
when I say, dear listener, that this was all organized
like in t minus four minutes time out, how the
winner was before we could go ahead, and it was
just seamless and rolly, what a good sport like. He

(31:08):
was so hungover, so brutally hungover, but just absolutely divine
and God I felt for him because we were like,
I don't know, the seventy ninth interview that day, and
he didn't have.

Speaker 3 (31:19):
A million he had so this is the thing that
I don't think people realize. So you win the Brown
loan you celebrate, and especially if you're one of those
players that's not in the Grand Final, and quite often
they go hard.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
So he's gone hard. Yeah, as he told us question two.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
When he's like I may have passed out, I'm like,
he's one of us. He understands a two good sports energy.
The rest of this is going to be fine. Where
he's like, it may have passed out. Where was it?

Speaker 2 (31:42):
Who knows? I was like, yes, Mad, is welcome to
that chat.

Speaker 3 (31:46):
So you go on your party and then you are
on Breakfast TV like we're talking Sunrise Today show.

Speaker 2 (31:52):
He did all the radio rounds.

Speaker 3 (31:54):
Then we come swarming in and decide that we want
to steal a hash brown and take photos on.

Speaker 2 (31:58):
The velvet couch.

Speaker 3 (31:59):
Yes, and we've got a full tour of the sweet
And then he had another hour of press and had
to be at the Carbine Club, which was still at
Crown for an.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
Event at eleven thirty.

Speaker 3 (32:09):
I can't to get up back on the same stage
where he received the medal, like basically twelve hours earlier,
and to try to be shiny again.

Speaker 4 (32:17):
I don't know. I could not, no, no.

Speaker 3 (32:19):
And elite athletes are unconditioned for drinking because they don't
get they don't get that.

Speaker 2 (32:23):
Lit during the season.

Speaker 4 (32:24):
No, no, they don't.

Speaker 1 (32:25):
And also with his family, can I just say there
is you were write Louise. His mum definitely pulled three
votes in the celebration. She's amazing. And his sister Mags,
she was awesome.

Speaker 4 (32:36):
She was also Incredibleuse one of ours, one of ours.
She's like, have you seen the hidden massage room in
that sweet Come, I'll show.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
Me behind the hockey, which it was.

Speaker 3 (32:47):
There was a random, weird thing that you push in
there's a massage room and I'm like, never need one
of those pacts.

Speaker 4 (32:51):
Saying that could have been our fun fact.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
Really it really could have been our fun fact. But
again full props. It gave us a peep behind the veil.
And I'm going to tell you I am not in
brownly winning form in any way. Not for post Media,
I would have gone, look, I just won this thing,
and I'm all sleep, I'm asleep. We've had such a
chocoer block EPP that I thought I'd go with something
super low brown for the super We thought we might

(33:18):
have the same one because you were like, mine's a
bit random, and I was like.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
Or dumb as mine, so it could be the same,
or we've got a killer for you next week.

Speaker 2 (33:28):
The sport is tennis.

Speaker 4 (33:29):
It's the same one must be.

Speaker 3 (33:31):
It was reshared by Andy Murray this week, so it's
been doing that.

Speaker 1 (33:36):
Say, I had had this you coded, I had this
saved in my like potty folder for months. I've had
this saved And then I saw Andy Murray poster and
I thought.

Speaker 4 (33:46):
Nah, Andy, friend of mine?

Speaker 3 (33:50):
How dam we let everyone else in on the very
private conversation that we're having. So because it basically goes,
what are you thinking about? And the there is fifty
percent of Roger Federer's name is er, and I.

Speaker 4 (34:07):
Thought, do you know who love this? Georgie Toney we
had the same one, So essentially the letters E R,
Let's think about it. Let's break it down. Okay, let's
break it down.

Speaker 1 (34:18):
So in Roger Federer's name. I know you're all thinking
it right now. You have what letters that aren't E
R in to get well, you can't take the R,
that's one.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
Oh, J.

Speaker 8 (34:32):
G.

Speaker 1 (34:34):
And then you've got you've got Roe fed Yes, that's
all you that's all you got.

Speaker 4 (34:39):
That's all you got.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
The rest is er.

Speaker 4 (34:42):
He is Swiss, I've got canceled again. I just love no.

Speaker 3 (34:46):
I just love that you and I there's no one
else that would go you know what that needs to
be mentioned again?

Speaker 1 (34:53):
And I literally you said Andy, and I was like,
I know, and and he's I was, I was going
to surprise schell me with this.

Speaker 4 (35:00):
And I've been keeping it up and saving it.

Speaker 3 (35:02):
I saw it on that and I was like, former
world number one Andy Murray in retirement is just sitting
back lobbing up memes.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
He's the best. He's having such time, he's so much.

Speaker 1 (35:11):
And I interviewed him and I said, hey, Andy, could
you do like a James Bond the names Murray Andy Murray?
And he was like, oh, I don't know, maybe, and
then he just did it flawlessly, and I was like, okay,
we love you, Okay, Charisma, Hello, where was this you?
Angry angry Scotsman on the pitch, on the pitch, on
the court, love.

Speaker 3 (35:28):
Him any danger you could have got him on the pod.
You didn't thing to go. Andy wouldn't want to do
a call. We'll talk about.

Speaker 4 (35:36):
You're one of ours, very very quickly.

Speaker 2 (35:39):
Good luck to the Broncos. Thoughts and prayers.

Speaker 3 (35:42):
It's Broncos Panthers, So Georgie hasn't mentioned.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
It because she actually physically can't.

Speaker 3 (35:49):
Her message to me said the panthers were put on
this earth to ruin my wife.

Speaker 4 (35:52):
That's right, and like defy me, I defy you stars.

Speaker 2 (35:56):
I would love to have any panthers guess if they're about.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
I mean, can I just say, Nathan Cleary, we will
get you on the podcast, whether you like it or
not at one point, even if it's the same way
that you got Bailey Smith technically, but he will have
some difficult questions to answer from me, namely, why do
you hate me? Why do you like inflicting pain on me?
And my soul?

Speaker 2 (36:21):
Now?

Speaker 4 (36:22):
So good, so good, so good, so be less good thoughts.

Speaker 3 (36:27):
And prayers because it will be a lot of NRL
next week and very very lastly heading into the AFL
Granny Winner and margin.

Speaker 4 (36:34):
Oh do you know what I'm sensing? An upset?

Speaker 1 (36:37):
And that's this is just me being complete d Lulu
deranged me right now, the one who said that same
Kilder could finish in the top four.

Speaker 2 (36:49):
Lions by five Geelong by thirty nine.

Speaker 4 (36:55):
That sounds more right, Norm Smith? Do I dare Jinx
another person.

Speaker 2 (36:58):
Don't you don't you dare but until next week be
your price.

Speaker 9 (37:02):
