Speaker 1 (00:00):
Ladies, and you want experience during your football season, well,
buckle up, sweet cheeks. We've got all the experience in
the world. This is I Want Your Flex with Dan
Buyer and Mike Harman. Mike and Dan breakdown everything you
need to set your line ups from position rankings, two

(00:23):
starts and sits. The guys help you make those hard decisions.
And now let's get your flex on. Here's Dan Buyer
and Mike Carman. Week one of the NFL season is here.
Welcome back to the I Want Your Flex Podcast at
Mike on Twitter at Swollen Dome. You can find me
on Twitter at Dan Buyer on Fox. Now we talk

(00:45):
about actual gains Mike matchups in Week one, not only
on Sunday, but also the Monday night affair between the
Broncos and Seahawks. Finally, our long wait is overall three
weeks of preseason games, a lot of people crying, wringing
their hands over players playing or not playing, contracts, situations,

(01:09):
trying to get adjust to seeing a player's head inside
that of a new shell, right because we got a
lot of guys who changed teams and I think for
for someone it's gonna take some getting used to I mean,
we do that on the back seven of a defense
and sometimes the interior offensive blind and be like, oh yeah,
they added that guy. But when it becomes prime time

(01:31):
quote skilled position guys, Dan, it takes a little getting
used to. Now. The NFL season started Thursday night. Bills
beat the Rams. It was a marquee matchup in l A.
No doubt, Mike there. There was a scoring all over
the place. Ozzy Osbourne was fantastic. At halftime. The Bills
fans really came to show out for their team in

(01:53):
southern California, and a good time was added by I'm
not I'm not worried about that matchup because it's in
our rear view mirror the point and I want to
make though with Bill's Rams with Buccaneers, Cowboys with Packers,
Vikings with Russell Wilson returns to Seattle. I think the
NFL put too many good games in Week one, Like
Week one is the time too. Everybody wants football so bad,

(02:16):
so you need to put out the worst matchups, like
you need Texans Bears in Week one that like that's
that no offense you have to put out yours projected
to win games. You used to Bears. Hey, it's the
only game that the Seahawks are gonna be relevant this year.
It shouldn't be Week one, trust me, Like that, that's

(02:37):
you say that. And I think that they put the
Broncos in Seahawks because of that reason. They didn't want
Russell Wilson to go to Seattle when Seattle is oh
and five, Like, they didn't want that. They're like, how
quickly will it go downhill for the Seahawks. Well, let's
just not risk it. Let's try to make some anticipation
on this. Let's do what week one. But there's so
many marquee matchups. Saints Falcons is a rivalry. I mean, heck,

(03:00):
now you've got Joe Flacco against this old team. Like,
there are so many good matchups in Week one that
I think the NFL actually messed up by giving us
too many good matchups this week. Steelers bangles the and
Wentz revenge game for last year when he failed as
a member of the Colts and now he plays the
Jaguars as a member of the Commanders. May there's so

(03:21):
many I've I've always argued Dan since they really started
pushing this, that it was a waste of time because
it's the NFL. As you said, everybody's anticipating it. You
can give me whatever, pick the worst of the two
seventy two ranked. I'm still gonna tune in right for fantasy,
for betting, for just my love of football college football.

(03:43):
I would argue the other I need a few more
rivalry games. I need a couple more kickoff classics. Again
within those towns, within those cities, and for those states
where they don't have an NFL team uh nearby, then
every week is going to be huge. But from a
national perspective to really grab the spotlight, I think you
need a few more of those games early on. As

(04:04):
opposed to directional University. Sorry for any of you that
attended to directional university. I'm talking strictly in terms of
football viewing pleasure. He's Mike Carmen, I'm Dan Buyer. Let's
get to the Week one top plays, your top five
plays at the quarterback, running back, in wide receiver position.
Mike Carmen, let's start out with those quarterbacks. He may

(04:25):
not have a new contract, I mean he doesn't. As
we we talk deadline looming about Lamar Jackson going up
against the New York Football Jets. You're looking at Andrews. Yeah,
I know, the running back situation is a mess. Will
will address that as we go forward here, But looking
at Bateman, looking at Andrews, looking at the rise and

(04:46):
respectability of this offense once again. Yeah, injury questions on
the offensive line. Ronnie Stanley his availability in question as
we speak. But I'm taking Lamar off the top. Justin
Herbert against Las Vegas. You mentioned Marky matchups fifty two
and a half right near the top of the over
underlines for the week. Expectations huge in Los Angeles, and

(05:07):
let's face it, even with the Raiders picking up a
few big names on the defensive side, Dan nobody's expecting
Rome to be built in a day Caesar's Palace. Uh No,
then we have number three Patrick Mahomes. I refused to
believe that we suddenly have a situation whereby Andy Reid
and Mahomes forgot how to play football. Who's gonna be

(05:27):
the guy? Mahomes is already apologizing for screwing up your
fantasy life weekend week out beyond that of Travis Kelsey's lines.
But here against Arizona, still sorting out their secondary and
opportunity to be had Russell Wilson against Seattle. Like you said,
this could be as good as it gets. Uh, you know,
not only from a viewing standpoint and eyeballs or whatever else.

(05:50):
But I'm looking at Russell Wilson with an opportunity here
against Seattle. Sorry body, Uh. And then Jalen Hurts against
the Detroit Lions. The x pectations for the Eagles are huge.
You bringing a j Brown, we'll talk about him a
little bit more multi headed approach out of the backfield
opportunities there. And while you may not love Jalen Hurts

(06:11):
as a quarterback overall, I know the jury is still
out from many many people. Uh, there's no arguing his
fantasy relevance. Yeah. I'm gonna wigh in on that Lions
Eagles game a little bit later when I give you
some stuff. But the Russell Wilson thing is real. Like
you have to believe that the Broncos are going to
do everything that they can to allow Russell Wilson to succeed,

(06:32):
especially in Denver. Like if there's if there's any questions
about playing any Broncos, Like if you have mediocre tight
ends and Albert oh is one of them, he should
be starting because I think that I think if if
the Broncos can do it, they're gonna want Russell Wilson
and have him and throw four or five touchdounds against
his former team if it If it turns out that way,

(06:54):
it could be bad news for Melvin Gordon and obviously
Javonte Williams owners. However, I just think that this is
set up, like when you talk about week one, especially
in the Guillotine League, I think Russell Wilson owners will
really be reaping the benefits of this matchup. Yeah, selfishly
and and not just because you're my friend and colleague
here on the I Watch re Flex podcast. Um, I
would love for the Seattle defense to solve it and

(07:16):
shut it down and for chaos to reason, But I'm
not anticipating that that's the that's the case. Those are
your top five plays at quarterback four week one of
the NFL season. I don't think many people are. Pete
Carroll may be the only one anticipating a shutdown, but
we we shall see Monday night. Let's get to the
top five running back plays for week one, all right?

(07:36):
Number one, Jonathan Taylor said it forget it, Ronco going
up against the Planet, Houston Division rivals, all that fun stuff.
You know. I almost want to feel like we need
to start caveatting some of these stars out like I
used to do with the column. It's like, I'm not
even discussing these top players, but you know what, but
the purposes of what we're doing right now, Yeah, Top
by play Jonathan Taylor and I will also say this,

(07:58):
I still go to the rankings. If you're a long
time listening to the podcast, I appreciate it you've heard
me say this, But if you're new, I love knowing
that a guy in my roster is number one that week.
There's something there is something warm about feeling feeling that ranking,
that your guy is number one and he may be
the number one overall pick. Like Jonathan Taylor, wasn't a
lot of fantasy drafts, but still, weekend and week out,

(08:18):
I love to see where my guys are ranked, even
the best of the best, and to have a guy
at number one makes me feel good well, and especially
if things go arrive, then it's just the universe screwge
you and not you're overthinking of it. Number two Austin
Heckler going up against Las Vegas my number two running
back on the year, so slots in nicely and what
should be a high scoring at bear number three, and

(08:40):
we talked about him at length in a prior podcast,
and already on the injury list, our guy Christian McCaffrey
going up against the Cleveland Browns. They're saying it's just
a cut from a cleat. But as soon as that
news started coming down, and I know you were at
the news desk at box more to radio, and I
can only hear the exasperate aided scive, right, I gotta

(09:02):
lead with this, Yes, Christian McCaffrey, so long as he's healthy.
I forget what the exact number is. But when we
talk about crazy streaks as we enter a new year,
I want to say it's twenty three of his last
twenty four games he's finished as a top eight running back.
When he's played it's worth worth the risk, then, I mean,

(09:22):
truly it is. So long as he's out there and
rolling around, I I can't wait to see how this changes.
Before kickoff. Number four, Derrick Henry against the Giants. Not
not a guy that's gonna give you the love. As
a receiver. He does catch a couple of balls, but
not the key part of his game. But going up
against the Giants an opportunity here as Tennessee tries to

(09:43):
round out what's going on in the receiving game. Uh,
you know you can at least tuck it into his
gut twenty plus times as he's healthy. And number five
because I think they're a very interesting play all around
this week and coming into the year with a lot
of curiosity. Alvin Camara of your New Orleans Saints. He's
on the field going up against Atlanta. Atlanta one of

(10:04):
the worst defense is uh, snake bitten and just terrible scouting.
I think for all of that converged into a mess
in it ain't turning around quickly. I think New Orleans
has the opportunity to put up some points on the
road here. Mike and I will mention guillotine leagues a lot,
and this the same advice would be for any daily fantasy.

(10:24):
I did a guillotine league and was like, I want
to get Alvin Camaro just because of Week one if
there are any questions, and he ended up going at
top twelve and in the PPR draft. But for for
daily fantasy, if you can find value there, I agree
with you. I love Camaro this week against the Falcons.
So those are the top five running back running backs
four week one, Jonathan Taylor, Austin Ekeler, CMC, Derrick Henry,

(10:46):
and Alvin Camaro. Let's get to the top five pass
catchers four week one. You know the number one guy.
I debated long and hard because the opportunity maybe there
to slow him down and and check down to other options,
but Jamaar Chase ended up rising back to the top
for me. Going up against Pittsburgh in that home day,
you're looking at a lower over under total of forty four.

(11:09):
Both defenses better, and we know what Pittsburgh is usually
trying to do defensively, but we watched Jamaar Chase. The
opportunities are gonna be the targets are gonna be there,
and it just takes one jail break effort to free
him and get him gone. I love the defense of
the next next guy um the team they're playing. But

(11:29):
for week one, still think there's success. And that's justin Jefferson.
For many the number one wide receiver in the game,
or at least top three, top four off the draft board.
I saw him even in some of those Guillotine leagues
and others really jumping up the draft boards this year,
even though everybody still hates Kirk Cousins. I'm always curious
how that works, stand um, but I guess the old adages,

(11:52):
you've gotta throw to somebody. Uh So, Jefferson number two
off the board from me. Number three E. D. Lamb
going up against Tampa in that Sunday Night affair. Dak
Prescott on the injury list, but he says it's only
because he was wearing uncomfortable, unbroken into shoots. Yes, can
relates on the golf course. Tell you that'll get you

(12:14):
by by the ninth tenth all you know, they they
now sell really big bandages for blistering with the medicine.
I gotta I got a shoe store to tell you later. Yeah,
I've given I've given those as gifts to young athletes
hanging out with my my daughter's squads. She's like, what
what do I need? It's like, I need five of those? Why?
Because I'm just passing him out. I'm tired of giving

(12:35):
them mine. Like good alright, So ceedee lamp coming into
number three. A. J. Brown. The aforementioned Philadelphia Detroit game,
looking for him to make a big splash. Now he's
gonna have some zeros along the way. I'm not expecting
it against Detroit. And finally, Davante Adams going back again
to that scoring fest between the Raiders and the Chargers.

(12:58):
Feed him early and often. Yeah, you'll get some Hunter
Ren pro He's curious. Darren Waller trending towards playing. But
Davante Adams, they brought him in, they paid him, and
they want to show him the love. Right off the
jone my quick Shoes story, I was playing at Aaron Hills,
one of my favorite places to be in southeastern Wisconsin,
about forty minutes away from Milwaukee, just south of Hartford, Wisconsin,

(13:22):
town of about ten thousand in Aron Hills, the host
of U S open. So I was going back home Mike,
and I thought, you know what, this is a big,
you know, big round of the year. Uh. Friend John
On in Aaron Hills has this out each year, and
I'm like, I want to wear my new shoes. By
the fourth hole, Mike, I had blisters so bad. We
had to call back to the caddy barn, have someone

(13:43):
get to my car with my keys at the valet
and bring out my old pair of shoes because there
was no way that I was gonna be able to
wear these for the rest of the And in the
fourth hole at Aaron Hills, one of the farthest spots
away from the actual clubhouse, somebody actually drove out my
shoes and then by the fifty box I got my
new shoes in. It was a bad, bad move. So

(14:03):
I know what Dak Prescott is talking about when he's
talking about breaking in new shoes. Don't do it when
you're gonna walk about seven miles playing a five hour
around of golf. Yeah, not not a smart move. I
got the whole four before I surrendered wave the white flag.
It's the worst. You never would never forget that round, though,
did you shoot? I had to go through excruciating pain,

(14:26):
and it would get worse every time you told it.
Eventually you'll tell the grand kids what what around? It
was a heroic round. There were blood. There were blood
marks on the back of the new shoes. You know,
A guess that's how bad it got. It was. It
was not good at all. I had tried to tough
it out, but it lasted four holes. All right. There
you are your top five plays. Four week one and

(14:49):
a really stupid golf shoe story. That's what you've got
here on I wat your flex. Get Mike on Twitter
at Swollen Dome. Find me on Twitter at Dan Buyer
on Fox. Now, like, let's look outside of the top
five plays. These are our hot plays, are cold Sores
and our Ninjas four week one. These are guys that
you may not necessarily have in your top five, the

(15:11):
guys you want to get in your lineup four week one?
Who are your hot plays? At the quarterback, running back
in wide receiver positions. Let's grab a couple of qbs.
Off the jump, Matt Ryan going up against Houston. Yes,
statistically on a week to week basis, you're not going
to get monster numbers on a Matt Ryan, But I
think off the jump here, Michael Pittman with an opportunity
against the secondary uh and then we'll see if Badleck

(15:33):
Piercer who shows up as a number two besides Naheim Hines.
But we'll get back to Hines in in a moment.
But looking at an opportunity there. Jamis Winston going up
against the Atlanta Falcons. He taught us all about body parts.
He's gonna teach us all about strutting into the end zone.
It's gonna be reminiscent of Week one of the season

(15:54):
last last year. Remember when he was torching the Green
Bay Packers and the expectation was it's all right the world,
and then he had a couple of bad weeks and
then he got hurt. But we're gonna take him here
in week one while he's available to us. I'm gonna
look at Antonio Gibson going back to the Washington Jacksonville,
UH scenario. Obviously, Washington going through some things with their

(16:16):
running back situation. You'll seed some carries slash receptions to
j D McKissick. But Ron Rivera has spoken publicly emphatically
about how much he trusts Gibson, which means he gets
the shot per week one. So if you're ever going
to think about playing him, and if you drafted early,
you drafted him high. Yeah, you've got to play him

(16:36):
this week and hope the ball security issues don't come
back to bite you. David Montgomery against the forty Niners
at home bears a touchdown underdog. Yes, there's some issues
with the offensive line, UH coming together a bit better,
and I think offensive personnel wise. As we've talked about
in previous episodes, DAN is better than most pundits give
it credit for, particularly when they show b roll of

(17:00):
eyes that aren't even with the team, third string quarterbacks
from preseason games and receivers who were cut uh in
the first round to cut set fine, but David apparently
fast track at Soldier Field. The potential is there might
might get some weather ahead of time, so keeping an
eye on that for kickoff. But yes, new turf, new

(17:22):
new exciting times like they we could I could do
in an hour and a half on what the park
District hasn't done for the Bears. After all, they're just
a tenant there, dan uh and their soccer games, high
school football games, and plenty of concerts to destroy the field,
much like they had in Houston. Uh the Astros fans
complaining about what their field looked like this past week

(17:43):
after a couple of bad Bunny concerts. Of all all people,
Travis etn on the other side of that matchup, Uh,
he long awaited arrival to the Jacksonville offense, and we
get him in Juju Smith's Houston. We don't know week
to week, as Patrick Mahomes told us, but against Arizona.
I'm gonna expect x to eight targets at a minimum,
and some big opportunities for Patrick Mahomes, throw them open,

(18:04):
make a play and make it go. We I my
love man crush for Christian Kirk as well established. I'm
not even gonna bother going deep into that. But how
about Kadarius Tony. Yeah, I know he's got hamstring injuries
already and other issues, but you've got a bad Tennessee
secondary better than it was in theory a year ago.

(18:25):
But once again we're talking about in battled quarterback status. Uh.
If you're gonna try to make some hey, you're gonna
come out firing. No uh, no sense in going short
armed into it. And with se Kwon Barkley healthy and
ready to go, you should at least have a little
bit of help with the linebackers otherwise engaged. Those are
your hot plays four week one guys that may not

(18:46):
be in the top five, but guys that you want
to get in your lineup. Seven of them four week one,
and I'm sure a lot more, but those are the
most important seven that we've got. Now, let's do the
flip side, the cold source, the ones that you want
to stay away from, you don't want to look at,
you don't want anything to do with. In week one,
who are a cold sores for the opening week? Well,
I think there's a lot of folks that will get
mad at me because they've got all sorts of stock

(19:06):
in him and his receivers. But I'm betting on a
big effort from to a tongue of by Loa coming
out in week one. So he's one of those guys.
He's a tweener for me under the best of circumstances,
because I don't think all of a sudden he's gonna
be a juggernaut by going up against New England because
they did go down five days early Dan. They will
be acclimated, they will be ready to go, and Bill

(19:28):
Belichick will be sporting a fantastic Dan as he and
his defense do their best to stifle to us. So
to a coming in as a mid QB two at
best for me, also Kirk Cousins. Overall, he's one of
those guys you love the last couple of years for
fantasy purposes. Again, blame what you will if you're a
Vikings fan on Mike Zimmer, take some of it off.

(19:49):
Kirk cousins. But the reality is in in ends of
game situations there's been a disconnect. But against Green Bay
and one of the best defenses in the game, and
my humble estimation, I think there's some potential for struggle
off the jump. So he's a guy that is coming
in as a high QB two for me? Zeke? Is
that just chalk? Is that? Um? Am? I am? I

(20:11):
just taking the low hanging. We have to write this
in pen is the question. Yeah, I'm only gonna put
it in pencil for week one. Uh. Going up against
good Tampa Bay front. I know we've had a lot
of issues on their offensive line, but that front seven
of the defense should be ready to go. I think
I'd be more inclined to start Tony Pollard of the
two backs this week, even if they do try to
feed Zeke a little bit. And No, I'm not worried

(20:32):
about Dack's foot. Uh, he'll get better shoes and blister medication. Uh.
Nazi Harris the Liz Frank going up against Cincinnati's front Uh,
targets and touches. Hey, he'll have enough to where you're
not benching him. But this is one of those where
I'm really looking to maximize my flex not to jar
and always, but those secondary roster positions become that much

(20:53):
more important when you've got a back and forth like this,
and then Miles Sanders the workload split. Even if there's
fireworks in Detroit, I don't know that he gets him
unless he breaks off a big run. I think there's
other weapons to make their hay. And then I hate
to do it. I don't want to do it because
I think I still play him as a w R two,

(21:14):
but certainly not expecting DK Metcalf to light up the night.
Those are your cold sores for Week one in the NFL.
The Seahawks uniforms may because they're wearing their green unis
against Denver, but that may be the only thing on
the Seahawks side that gets lit up all right. Finally,
Mike's Ninjas, the secret plays, the guys who could come

(21:34):
in handy right when you need them. Who are your ninjas?
For Week one? Carson Wentz going up against Jacksonville. This
is one of those daily fantasy plays because he's gonna
cost you nothing and you'll be able to use your
budget on other opportunists. Uh McLaurin, h Go and get
a little deeper into dots and perhaps as a sneaky
play down the line. So opportunities to be had there,

(21:56):
David and Joku going up against Carolina Stefanski. Uh in
the last two years tight ends of average about nine
targets per game with him at the Helm there in Cleveland,
and we can guess with Jacoby Brisett not gonna be
a lot of deep shots downfield, short to intermediate. So
in Joe Wu should have himself some opportunities. You mentioned

(22:17):
Albert oh before, he would be another guy in that
range where on a week to week basis a Cole
Commett or someone's probably gonna steal that starting spot for
this week. Not so fast, Kenneth Gainwell, I talked about
Miles Sanders and needing that home run hit out of
the out of the backfield. Well for Gainwell, I think
he's a guy that we see a decent amount of touches,

(22:37):
and I love his explosiveness and and he is going
to cost you next to nothing as well. Nico Collins
UH and Davis Mills in that game, uh, going up
against Indie. Uh, it is a touchdown plus spread there. Uh.
Look I like with Davis Mills put on tape last year.
And obviously you and I both love Brandon Cooks well

(22:58):
with him getting the attention, say tche, that means Miko
Collins may have an opportunity to shine. Uh. Does Aaron
Rodgers count because everybody hates him this year, So let's
put him in against Minnesota. I don't know who's catching
the ball. Lazard may or may not play. Keeping it
tuned in at Dan Buyer on Fox at Swollen Dome
in the Twitter verse on game day. Uh, and of

(23:20):
course listening to Fox Sports Radio. But what last guy
I want to give is uh, smoke them while you
got him, Mike Davis, yep, right, Opportunity volume is really
what I'm looking for, and perhaps a goal line look
or two as that backfield rounds itself back into shape. Yeah.
J K. Dobbins is the gametime decision. But even if
he plays, you could see um a limited workload for

(23:44):
him against the Jets, could have a could have it
by committee in Baltimore. But I thought the same thing
about David, So I'm on the same page with you.
Those are your Ninjas four week one of the NFL season.
Mike's the expert. Now it's my turn to put on
the expert hat kind of because it's usually a dunce
cap for these this bad advice. Come on, just kidding,
I'm just kidding. I give you one reason to start

(24:06):
a guy in one reason to bench a guy. I'm
gonna give you a reason to start James Conner of
the Arizona Cardinals against Kansas City. I don't know who
else is going to be a playmaker for Arizona because
Zach Ertz is hurt. We know DeAndre Hopkins is on suspension.
Doesn't mean Urt's is out, but he's just been limited
all camp, and and yes, correct now ron Dale Mora

(24:27):
has gone down with a hamstring injury. They're just very
few options, so I think you're gonna see a lot
of James Connor. Start him with pride, even though they
may not beat Kansas City. I like starting James Conner
because of all those injuries. And I'm benching Briest Hall
of the Jets, not because of the preseason hype, but
because of the same reason. Now Dwayne Brown is out,

(24:47):
who is supposed to be there to fill in for
McKay Beckton and George pant has been flipping sides like crazy.
I think the Jets offensive line is a problem. So
I'm gonna say bench Briests Hall, who may have been
a hot pick earlier, especially earlier in in in off
season drafts. Uh, benching Brees Hall against the Ravens team,
who is still darn good against the run. I love
it going up against the run. We know that's the

(25:09):
Ravens bread and butter. Going on back to my guy
Helodi Nada all those years ago. Uh, and you still
have a bunch of Michael Carter that will play a
fact in the Hall's touch count. As for Connor, Yeah,
maybe touchdown dependent, but you got a line an over
under sitting at fifty three and a half. I don't
think it's all on Kansas City, Uh, the way people

(25:29):
prescribe it, Dan, and someone's got to score. Maybe you
get a little bit of, you know, Benjamin, if you
get really desperate, But now we're talking absolute desperation, take
the volume, take the goal line plunge. All right. As
we wrap up the episode, Mike and I make three
final points that we want you to take into the weekend.
Things that we'd like to go three for three of
these predictions. Mike, we really would This is what we

(25:50):
want to leave you with my final three point conversion
four Week one. I think we're in for a huge
week from Mike Evans. Chris Godwin's situation is still up
in the air. Don't know if he's gonna play or not,
and even if he does, I'd still expect something limited
of all the familiar faces that are now gone or
maybe aren't the same, Mike Evans is one for Tom

(26:11):
Brady plus against the Dallas secondary that we feel is susceptible.
Like a huge week from Mike Evans. We've talked about
Russell Wilson. I think it could be his best week
of the season against the Seahawks. And my Points of Paloza,
I think you and I may be on the same
pains with this one because there were a couple of
guys you mentioned in your top five plays. I think
the Points of Palos is gonna become between the Eagles

(26:33):
and Lions. It's just a matter of if the Lions
keep up their end of the bargain, because I think
Philadelphia will be able to do things. I just look
back to last year, remember that crazy game against the
Niners where the Lions kind of came all the way
back I'm maybe thinking a little deja vu with that.
So even if the Lions are are out of the
game early, maybe they show that grit that Dan Campbell

(26:53):
wants put points on the board late. My points of
Pelos is gonna be Eagles and the Lions. Alright, let's
go you uh. I'd like that one, by the way.
I mean it's an over under a forty nine, and
it might mean great things for Jared Goff. Hey man,
everybody plays, everybody wins. I get very excited about it.
I'm gonna look to the second year, fair haired boy,

(27:15):
and no it's not Trey Lance. He's not a captain,
he may not a may not have a job before
long there in San Francisco. I'm gonna gae at Trevor
Lawrence with an opportunity putting that rookie year behind him.
Mentioned him a little bit earlier with Christian Kirk and
et N and all this going up against Washington, opportunity
for him to rise up. I think he could be

(27:35):
a top end QB two and certainly a guy in
daily Fantasy to to get make some Hey you had,
Mike Evans, I would just this is like a one
A I had my me and Julio down by the
schoolyard thing all written out thinking, Julio Jones. He's healthy.
I don't know how long he's gonna be healthy, So
they need a number two. He could be that man.

(27:57):
I'm about cut to the chase. Yeah, you got Wattle,
you got Hill, and I did kind of talk down
about the most accurate quarterback of all time. But he
will still be able to check down and Chase Edmonds
is a guy out of the backfield I think has
an opportunity to have himself a big day both as
a runner and receiver. Just pitch it to the edge
and let him go, and then I'm I'm doubling down

(28:18):
with the listen to your doctor. We all watch the
cool video of Jamis Winston explaining how your top half
get to your waist and you know you've got multiple risks,
risks or your ankles and all of those kind of things. Yeah,
he's going up against Atlanta. He's got opportunity. I don't
know what Michael Thomas's status is going to be. That
one's still a little bit out in left field. But

(28:38):
you've got land or you've got camera and you've got
old lave. Oh yeah, we could do that. Uh. Uh No,
Jamis Winston Is is another guy that off the jump,
I like in a big way to get the season
started right New Orleans a team that by week three
or week four we're gonna be talking about in a
whole different light, I think, Dan, Yeah, I agree, they

(28:59):
are definitely contell in to win the NFC South. Alright,
harmon any last words before we dive into week one.
I'm a little afraid of how bad offensive line play
is going to be. Uh. Just there's a number of
teams going in. You start doing your reasoning for top
fives or why you left the guy out, and I'm like,
I don't trust the offensive one. We did it a

(29:19):
little bit talking about the Jets and some other teams,
and even for some of your contenders, they've got some
big questions to answer as the season starts. Uh. And
the other is I'm curious with the point of emphasis
in officiating with contact downfield, how sloppy it might be
early going, and and how how many free yards you

(29:40):
might see for offenses To really augment these point totals,
I'll just say this about the health. You're never gonna
be healthier than you are in week one. So for
those teams, it's not gonna get any better if you are. Yeah,
I got bad news for you, all right. Can't wait
to talk to you the other side of week one.
Will We will recap the week and then start to
look ahead to some waiver wire pickups and guys you

(30:01):
gotta claim coming up in week two. So for my Carmen,
you can get on Twitter at Swollen Dome and our
executive producer, Ryan Burr Singer find him on Twitter at
Ryan bur Singer. I'm Dan Buyer, hitting me up at
Dan Buyer on Fox. We'll talk to you next time,
and I want your flesh
