It's not Miami. It's not Baltimore. Right, it's not Cincinnati. Right,

it's not the Jaguars, you know they're good. It's not
the Broncos, the Chiefs or the Charges. Right, it's not

be the thing you need to do. Above and me

ability to lead teams long term is certainly still in question.

but they'll ruin your season. They're gonna ruin my off
season by getting involved for Aaron Rodgers just because you're

saw the next thing they did, which was pouring syrup

over the Big Max. You guys sent me this video,
and I'm honestly I stopped watching after that because that
was Harris. I really thought they should be ridiculous. You're poor,
you're pouring syrup or I didn't even know what the
rest of the video was. I couldn't watch. I couldn't
watch that being done though, because because they did that,
they did the syrup and then there was the layer
of the chicken sandwiches you had to take off. Yeah,

so you had to take off the bun with the
syrup in them. Really, I was doing that too. I
feel so bad for those big Mas. And so then
you had over the top. You then had the layer
of kicken sandwiches, followed by right, more cheese. These were
cheese slices this time right justin oh yeah, and that's

sauce in there? And there was two layers of marina?
What are they doing with those big those big max
were so excited, Hey, we're gonna be eating like but
people are gonna say she's able to just pick one
out of a tray and send out of the back

you gotta put press this. Yeah, it was like, you
gotta press this down so that you get the juices

Said it was going to get too doughey if you
left the bun in on the chicken sandwich. Not a
lot of things an authority of this, are you citizens

would find that video. Go, I can't believe you did

to like twelve big Max. So that's like whatever charge

the Jets. It was all set. Now the Raiders a
gonna go, Hey, we're gonna screw things up. Well like pirates,
they're gonna come in and take him away. Is the

day you almost had Aaron Rodgers that TJ. You know
a pirates favorite letter is our A pirate A pirate,
A pirate says, are at backyard agans. The only thing
that makes me feel like it's not gonna happen is
that you gotta give Aaron Rodgers a lot of money.
And what does Mark Davis not like to do? Give

people money, spend money on haircuts? Well, he'd sign that
deal for Derek Carr. They're keeping Josh mcdantels because they
don't want to lose the money they put fire them children.
You gotta be careful. There's folks in the media business
that will come and fight you over there. We're paying them,
so what does that mean. It means we gotta keep them.

We're also paying that other guy plegedly ten million a year,
but you have to pay Aaron Rodgers a lot more
than that. Is he really gonna do that? Is here? Yeah,

That's the one thing that makes me think, Okay, maybe
the craziness isn't gonna happen. Will control it, will trade
the draft picks, will get Aaron Rodgers's playing for the Jets,

and the Jets are in the Super Bowl next year
because all they need is a quarterback. Look, Jay Glazer
even agreed earlier in the show, all the Jets need
is a quarterback. There are a quarterback away from everything,
and it's gonna happen. And market, like Jay always tells
us the truth. Man, come on, I was joking. The
Raiders at last count have the ninth most cap space,

doesn't do I mean they're gonna spend it. They don't
have the money. Twenty camp Fire McDaniels, they got no
cat not happening. Not that that's that's the one thing.
Everything else I would say, Yes, why do you think
they were gonna go get Brady? Brady wasn't gonna cost
draft picks. He would cost about twenty million dollars because
they wanted to win, right, So we'll go get Brady.
But now Brady retired, so now they're Look, the Raiders

are the Raiders, and they're completely unpredictable. And like I said,
the Raiders can ruin their season and they can ruin
your season. Right that that should be the rat should
be the motto of the Raiders. So yeah, I can't
I can't see them not getting involved somehow and and
and screwing it all up. But will they actually walk
away with him? It's too much money from Mark Davis.
If nothing else, it's gonna cost you enough to potentially

cripple your team way too much. This is what's some
other thing that you need on your roster, you know,
the backup. The depth chart expansion is not gonna be
able to happen because they beat him up. This is
what's gonna happen. The Raiders are gonna get the free
agency and they're gonna say, okay, let's let's do the
positives and negatives for every quarterback out there. And the

guy that's gonna be at the top of their list
is Derek Carr. So they're gonna call him and say,
hey man, we'd like to sign a three year deal
and give you a lot of money. You're the best
guy available. We saw what you did during those Pro
Bowl workouts. That would be so you hit those big
targets like nobody I've ever seen. That would be so
(18:53):
peak Raiders. We're gonna go out and bring our own
guy back because he's the best guy available. We can't
get anybody else, and it looked funny it could happen,
because really, when it comes down to it, who's better.
And we talked about this a little bit earlier and
we have leading up. When you do your depth chart
and you start ranking the available quarterbacks, you got Car,
(19:15):
you got Garoppolo, you got Rogers, you got Baker Mayfield,
and you got a bunch of also ran Mike White,
So Rogers one again, Brady off the board. That puts
Car at number two because at least he's gonna be
on the field as long as you let him stay
on the field versus Jimmy Garoppolo for his eight to

ten games. And you know how much I love Jimmy,
and it hates me to say that, but that's history
that that hasn't happened just once. That's a multiple multi
offender when it comes to the injury, submarining his efforts
and that of a squad that needs to then go
to Plan B, Plan C, et cetera. So yeah, Derek

Carr goes up to that level on the depth chart.
If you know the Raiders, all of a sudden, you're
looking around, going do we have to change him? Just
because do we have to stay with Jared Jared Stidham
because we drew this invisible line in the sand and
then had David Carr yelled at us on TV. I'm

brother has a lot he'd like to say, but you
know what, he's too classy to do that. But you

classy right that this gets us to Tom Brady as
a day after he retired. Already, Patriots owner Bob Kraft
is very excited about bringing Tom Brady back home while

the quarterback to Patriots. No no, no, no no. He
went on Fox News earlier today did an interview about
Brady retire and says, hey, he needs to come home
and hang up his cleats for good. We will do
everything in our power to bring him back, have him
sign off as a patriot, and find ways to honor
him for many years to come. Sign off as a

bit of time. You wanted to sign off as a
patriot and stop that was thrown out. Um, you know
he's not gonna do this, but I know he's thinking
about it because I know Tom Brady and I know
what competitors are like. But I would love it if
Tom Brady would say, oh, okay, so you want me

to come back and sign a one day contract to
retire Patriot. Yes. I spent the vast majority of my
career there, that twenty years there. Um. But here's the thing.
I loved it there. I won an unprecedented number of
Super Bowls. I took less money my entire time there
so we could bring players in so we could win.

I did everything you asked of me and more, and
still you pushed me out. At the end. You gave
me a low ball offer to stay. You knew I
wasn't gonna take it, and you made me leave, and
we had all this controversy because Bill wanted to replace
me for a long time. You traded Garoppolo. That's great
when you could have been in my corner when I'm

forty two coming off a great season. No, no, no,
We're gonna offer you not a lot of money. So
you go. You took his side, and you pushed me out.
You know what, stick it. I'm a buck Now I'm
going in the Hall of Fame as a Tampa Bay buccaneer.
And I don't like Bruce Arians either. But he's gonna
be standing next to me when my bust is putting
the Hall of Fame. I'm gonna have him, and I'm
gonna have Byron Leftwitch, a guy that really screwed us.

go into the Hall of Fame. I loved it there
with you, and I have great memories with my Patriots

completely opposite of the analysis you gave on Jell Bunchings
Goodbye to Tom Brady yesterday, where you were like, oh
you gotta do appears is not enough. Be who you are,
Own it for what you are. If you're cold and
you don't have the big emotions that you want to
put out on social media or whatever else, don't do it.

Put out the message you feel compelled to. And what's
in your heart. You have hate in your heart, you
let it out. So you have this six circumstance with Brady.
I I would hope he writes a similar one sentence No, No,
I don't think I will. He goes all Captain America

as a competitor, it would, It would go through my mind.
It would go through a lot of people's minds if
they really want this. And yeah, does time he'll all wounds. Sure,

in your heart for so long before you soften a
little bit, or something happens to help you along the way.

But right now he's holding onto that man and and
and that spurred him on in Tampa Bay. And and
it's still too fresh. Oh you want me to come
back after that? Now you know what, you're gonna sit
awhile and and maybe I hang out with you that
maybe I don't like. Is he even gonna be a
guy that's around the Patriots at all? Probably not. Like
he's a guy that I played for the Patriot. Now
I'm onto other things among other things in my n B,

in my n F post NFL career, and I'm announcing
games how or how how with the Patriots? Is he
going to be right? Probably not? And and this this
is gonna just kill Bob Kraft. Oh but Brady was Yeah,
you know what, you didn't have to push him out.
It could have kept him around. But no. You listen
to Belichick who said, let's low ball him. Let's low
ball the greatest quarterback any of us have ever seen.

push him out. Let's get rid of them a year
too early. Well, it turns out in three years he
went to the playoffs three times and won a Super Bowl,
and the Patriots haven't won a playoff game. So yeah,
I know that Brady wins that battle and he wins
that payback. But this, this is just too soon for
me to do this, and I don't know if it'll
ever be too soon. He's not gonna come out and

say it because he's gonna want to control his image
and make sure that that it's not one where he
looks bitter and looks upset and petty and petulant. But
you know what, sometimes being petty and petulant's kind of
fun for a few minutes. So I would wonder. I
think the way you'll see it is maybe he just
doesn't respond to this and it just sits out there,
and Bob Kraft has to twist around and get questions

from many people and and experts and and and all
the pageantry in Boston where they're going, Hey, when are
you bringing Tommy back to retire? Hey, Bob, when are
you bringing Tommy back? Like everywhere he goes, hey, when's
Tommy coming back? When's Tommy Brady day? When's Tommy day?
When's Tommy day? Tell me when is it? And he
it says, I I don't know, I don't know. He
won't call me back. He's not saying anything. We can't

one thing in all of this, And we talked about

it a bit yesterday and and coming. You know, we
all have our histories relationships, jobs, uh splitting a you know,
separation from jobs, maybe separation in those relationships, and that's
how you you kind of view the world, and maybe
you have that bitterness for a while and sometimes you're
you're just tired of tired of fighting. Right when we

had Jay Glazer on and he was talking about he
had the sense that this was the last ride, right,
the last run for Tom Brady, and that it was
decided fairly early on. And maybe that goes to some
of the we didn't have the historyonics on the sidelines
of throwing tablets, tantrums, etcetera. Because you realized you could
carry the team to a degree, but it was gonna

have to be perfect to get it done. And you
accepted that to a degree. And so when you get
to the post playing part of your life, some of
that other stuff melts away as well, the anger, the bitterness,
and and you hit maybe a little bit of pangs
of regret remorse of the things that went wrong again
personal and professional relationships, and maybe with the crafts. However

it had ended. You know, it always seemed to be
on good terms, at least externally. Who knows what it's
like behind the scenes, but I'm sure there's plenty of
folks waiting to write the next book on it. But
the idea that you can, after whatever requisite time away,
come back and just close the chapter on that by

shaking hands, holding up a jersey one last time and
throwing it at whoever and saying I'm done, And then
you go into the next phase of your life because
you can really truly take a drill, put a bunch
of extra anchors into that door and make sure it's
not moving ever again.

was Harris. I really thought they should be ridiculous. You're poor,

rest of the video was. I couldn't watch. I couldn't
watch that being done though, because because they did that,
they did the syrup and then there was the layer
of the chicken sandwiches you had to take off. Yeah,

so you had to take off the bun with the
syrup in them. Really, I was doing that too. I
feel so bad for those big Mas. And so then
you had over the top. You then had the layer
of kicken sandwiches, followed by right, more cheese. These were

sauce in there? And there was two layers of marina?
What are they doing with those big those big max
were so excited, Hey, we're gonna be eating like but
people are gonna say she's able to just pick one
out of a tray and send out of the back

you gotta put press this. Yeah, it was like, you
gotta press this down so that you get the juices

Said it was going to get too doughey if you
left the bun in on the chicken sandwich. Not a
lot of things an authority of this, are you citizens
arresting these people are not? I would I would, I
would find that video. Go, I can't believe you did

to like twelve big Max. So that's like whatever charge

the Jets. It was all set. Now the Raiders a
gonna go, Hey, we're gonna screw things up. Well like pirates,
they're gonna come in and take him away. Is the

day you almost had Aaron Rodgers that TJ. You know
a pirates favorite letter is our A pirate A pirate,
A pirate says, are at backyard agans. The only thing
that makes me feel like it's not gonna happen is
that you gotta give Aaron Rodgers a lot of money.
And what does Mark Davis not like to do? Give

people money, spend money on haircuts? Well, he'd sign that
deal for Derek Carr. They're keeping Josh mcdantels because they
don't want to lose the money they put fire them children.
You gotta be careful. There's folks in the media business
that will come and fight you over there. We're paying them,
so what does that mean. It means we gotta keep them.

We're also paying that other guy plegedly ten million a year,
but you have to pay Aaron Rodgers a lot more
than that. Is he really gonna do that? Is here? Yeah,
let's go get it. It's gonna be like fifty But
I don't care. Money is not the object. No, no, no,
That's the one thing that makes me think, Okay, maybe
the craziness isn't gonna happen. Will control it, will trade
the draft picks, will get Aaron Rodgers's playing for the Jets,

and the Jets are in the Super Bowl next year
because all they need is a quarterback. Look, Jay Glazer
even agreed earlier in the show, all the Jets need
is a quarterback. There are a quarterback away from everything,
and it's gonna happen. And market, like Jay always tells
us the truth. Man, come on, I was joking. The
Raiders at last count have the ninth most cap space,

doesn't do I mean they're gonna spend it. They don't
have the money. Twenty camp Fire McDaniels, they got no
cat not happening. Not that that's that's the one thing.
Everything else I would say, Yes, why do you think
they were gonna go get Brady? Brady wasn't gonna cost
draft picks. He would cost about twenty million dollars because
they wanted to win, right, So we'll go get Brady.
But now Brady retired, so now they're Look, the Raiders
(17:51):
are the Raiders, and they're completely unpredictable. And like I said,
the Raiders can ruin their season and they can ruin
your season. Right that that should be the rat should
be the motto of the Raiders. So yeah, I can't
I can't see them not getting involved somehow and and
and screwing it all up. But will they actually walk
away with him? It's too much money from Mark Davis.
If nothing else, it's gonna cost you enough to potentially

cripple your team way too much. This is what's some
other thing that you need on your roster, you know,
the backup. The depth chart expansion is not gonna be
able to happen because they beat him up. This is
what's gonna happen. The Raiders are gonna get the free
agency and they're gonna say, okay, let's let's do the
positives and negatives for every quarterback out there. And the
(18:32):
guy that's gonna be at the top of their list
is Derek Carr. So they're gonna call him and say,
hey man, we'd like to sign a three year deal
and give you a lot of money. You're the best
guy available. We saw what you did during those Pro
Bowl workouts. That would be so you hit those big
targets like nobody I've ever seen. That would be so
(18:53):
peak Raiders. We're gonna go out and bring our own
guy back because he's the best guy available. We can't
get anybody else, and it looked funny it could happen,
because really, when it comes down to it, who's better.
And we talked about this a little bit earlier and
we have leading up. When you do your depth chart
and you start ranking the available quarterbacks, you got Car,
(19:15):
you got Garoppolo, you got Rogers, you got Baker Mayfield,
and you got a bunch of also ran Mike White,
So Rogers one again, Brady off the board. That puts
Car at number two because at least he's gonna be
on the field as long as you let him stay
on the field versus Jimmy Garoppolo for his eight to
(19:35):
ten games. And you know how much I love Jimmy,
and it hates me to say that, but that's history
that that hasn't happened just once. That's a multiple multi
offender when it comes to the injury, submarining his efforts
and that of a squad that needs to then go
to Plan B, Plan C, et cetera. So yeah, Derek
(19:57):
Carr goes up to that level on the depth chart.
If you know the Raiders, all of a sudden, you're
looking around, going do we have to change him? Just
because do we have to stay with Jared Jared Stidham
because we drew this invisible line in the sand and
then had David Carr yelled at us on TV. I'm

closing the studio so I can yell about it. My
brother has a lot he'd like to say, but you
know what, he's too classy to do that. But you
know what, I'll do it for him here speaking a
classy right that this gets us to Tom Brady as
a day after he retired. Already, Patriots owner Bob Kraft
is very excited about bringing Tom Brady back home while

the quarterback to Patriots. No no, no, no no. He
went on Fox News earlier today did an interview about
Brady retire and says, hey, he needs to come home
and hang up his cleats for good. We will do
everything in our power to bring him back, have him
sign off as a patriot, and find ways to honor
him for many years to come. Sign off as a

bit of time. You wanted to sign off as a
patriot and stop that was thrown out. Um, you know
he's not gonna do this, but I know he's thinking
about it because I know Tom Brady and I know
what competitors are like. But I would love it if
Tom Brady would say, oh, okay, so you want me

to come back and sign a one day contract to
retire Patriot. Yes. I spent the vast majority of my
career there, that twenty years there. Um. But here's the thing.
I loved it there. I won an unprecedented number of
Super Bowls. I took less money my entire time there
so we could bring players in so we could win.

I did everything you asked of me and more, and
still you pushed me out. At the end. You gave
me a low ball offer to stay. You knew I
wasn't gonna take it, and you made me leave, and
we had all this controversy because Bill wanted to replace
me for a long time. You traded Garoppolo. That's great
when you could have been in my corner when I'm

forty two coming off a great season. No, no, no,
We're gonna offer you not a lot of money. So
you go. You took his side, and you pushed me out.
You know what, stick it. I'm a buck Now I'm
going in the Hall of Fame as a Tampa Bay buccaneer.
And I don't like Bruce Arians either. But he's gonna
be standing next to me when my bust is putting
the Hall of Fame. I'm gonna have him, and I'm
gonna have Byron Leftwitch, a guy that really screwed us.

you gotta do appears is not enough. Be who you are,
Own it for what you are. If you're cold and
you don't have the big emotions that you want to
put out on social media or whatever else, don't do it.

Put out the message you feel compelled to. And what's
in your heart. You have hate in your heart, you
let it out. So you have this six circumstance with Brady.
I I would hope he writes a similar one sentence No, No,
I don't think I will. He goes all Captain America
in the end. No, I don't think I will. You know,

you know, I know it's going through his mind because
as a competitor, it would, It would go through my mind.
It would go through a lot of people's minds if
they really want this. And yeah, does time he'll all wounds. Sure,
thank you, you can. You can only hold that hate
in your heart for so long before you soften a
little bit, or something happens to help you along the way.

But right now he's holding onto that man and and
and that spurred him on in Tampa Bay. And and
it's still too fresh. Oh you want me to come

guy that's around the Patriots at all? Probably not. Like
he's a guy that I played for the Patriot. Now

games how or how how with the Patriots? Is he
going to be right? Probably not? And and this this
is gonna just kill Bob Kraft. Oh but Brady was Yeah,
you know what, you didn't have to push him out.
It could have kept him around. But no. You listen
to Belichick who said, let's low ball him. Let's low
ball the greatest quarterback any of us have ever seen.
(24:58):
But Brady is still playing at high leve. Nope, let's
push him out. Let's get rid of them a year
too early. Well, it turns out in three years he
went to the playoffs three times and won a Super Bowl,
and the Patriots haven't won a playoff game. So yeah,
I know that Brady wins that battle and he wins
that payback. But this, this is just too soon for
me to do this, and I don't know if it'll
ever be too soon. He's not gonna come out and
(25:19):
say it because he's gonna want to control his image
and make sure that that it's not one where he
looks bitter and looks upset and petty and petulant. But
you know what, sometimes being petty and petulant's kind of
fun for a few minutes. So I would wonder. I
think the way you'll see it is maybe he just
doesn't respond to this and it just sits out there,
and Bob Kraft has to twist around and get questions
(25:41):
from many people and and experts and and and all
the pageantry in Boston where they're going, Hey, when are
you bringing Tommy back to retire? Hey, Bob, when are
you bringing Tommy back? Like everywhere he goes, hey, when's
Tommy coming back? When's Tommy Brady day? When's Tommy day?
When's Tommy day? Tell me when is it? And he
it says, I I don't know, I don't know. He
won't call me back. He's not saying anything. We can't
do it. That's I really hope that's what that's what
(26:01):
Brady does because it's look, was I happy to see
him leave the ANFC east of Courts. I was because
I didn't have to worry about and beating the Jets.
But now the Jets have all kinds of new problems.
But at the same time, for them to treat him
that way and basically say, yeah, we're gonna push you
out and give you an offer that we want you
to go. Yeah, you want me to come back and retire,
You're not happening. Yeah, Jason, I would say that the
one thing in all of this, And we talked about
(26:23):
it a bit yesterday and and coming. You know, we
all have our histories relationships, jobs, uh splitting a you know,
separation from jobs, maybe separation in those relationships, and that's
how you you kind of view the world, and maybe
you have that bitterness for a while and sometimes you're
you're just tired of tired of fighting. Right when we
(26:44):
had Jay Glazer on and he was talking about he
had the sense that this was the last ride, right,
the last run for Tom Brady, and that it was
decided fairly early on. And maybe that goes to some
of the we didn't have the historyonics on the sidelines
of throwing tablets, tantrums, etcetera. Because you realized you could
carry the team to a degree, but it was gonna
(27:05):
have to be perfect to get it done. And you
accepted that to a degree. And so when you get
to the post playing part of your life, some of
that other stuff melts away as well, the anger, the bitterness,
and and you hit maybe a little bit of pangs
of regret remorse of the things that went wrong again
personal and professional relationships, and maybe with the crafts. However
(27:29):
it had ended. You know, it always seemed to be
on good terms, at least externally. Who knows what it's
like behind the scenes, but I'm sure there's plenty of
folks waiting to write the next book on it. But
the idea that you can, after whatever requisite time away,
come back and just close the chapter on that by
(27:51):
shaking hands, holding up a jersey one last time and
throwing it at whoever and saying I'm done, And then
you go into the next phase of your life because
you can really truly take a drill, put a bunch
of extra anchors into that door and make sure it's
not moving ever again.
