had a lot of fun with that last night, Bob
Uker's the last two nights Bober call of the walk
(01:05):
off home run that beat the Mets, and the Mets
got sweat and it's fun and Yuker's yelling get up,
get out, get out of here. And uh, you know
I talked about, you know, having that afternoon firing tie
shirt and having that be the way I would fire him.
I would say, get up, get out, get out of here.
And I completely forgot. This is a memory that got
shaken loose from me after like forty years. Was I
just thinking that, get up, get out, get out of here.
(01:26):
When I was in middle school, I had a we
had a guy who was in charge of the grade.
I don't I don't know what his title was, beau.
Everybody was in charge of somebody charging in the sixth grade,
seventh grade, eighth grade. And every day at lunch, he
would want us to be quiet the entire time. And
he would just want everybody be quiet. I'm like, and
we're like, it's a lunch room. Everybody's kind of talking.
But he would get really mad. He's one of those
young guys that got mad right away all the time.
(01:48):
So when he had a megaphone and he would yell
out to people to be quiet and not talk to
if he got so mad at you, he would want
to kick you out of the lunch room. He would
just say your name and he would say get up
and get out, over and over until you grabbed your
stuff and left. Like he would say, I know, and everybody,
Bobby Vorne, get up and get out, Get up and
get out, Get up and get out, Get up and
(02:09):
get out, Get up and get out, get up and
get out, and the kids doing real slogans, get get
up and get out, get up and get out, get
up and get out, and he would just keep saying that, Oh,
Kevin Coleman, get up and get out, get up and
get out. And these are real people that had We
were told to get up and get out, get up
and ge get out, get up and get out, get
up and get out, get like like twenty twenty. We said,
how many times I think he's had a twenty four times,
twenty five times until somebody actually got there stuff and
(02:31):
walked up, get up and got That's kind of how
I felt today. I had that memory that Tysher had
with the Bob Yuker thing just jarred that loose from me.
And now psychologically you're you're accosted by it and trying
to figure out what the hell ever happened to all
these people? Did you look them all up on Google? Today? No?
I'm just thinking about get up and get out. I'm
just think get up and get out, Get up and
(02:51):
get out. Joe Corriero was his name, mister Coriarro. Get
up and get a good name, and get out. Get
up and get out, Get up and get out, Get
up and get out. It sounds like a law and
order dealing. Get up and get out, Get up and
get out. I never was told to get up and
get out because I was well, no, because you know what,
My table was always kind of on the side where
he'd have to look to the side to see us,
so we were always I was blinders. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
(03:12):
get up and get more. Lazy to hell, get up
and get just don't sit in his u right in
front of him, because really, do you think I'm gonna
be quiet? Of course not, I'm not gonna I'm not
the kid to be quiet. Get up and get out,
Jason Smith, get up and get out, Get up and
get out. And I can't say I had any of
those experiences growing up. My m might have had a
nunner two who uh well, went to the old school
(03:36):
of nunnery, as witnessed by Meryl Streep and Company back
of the Dan movie bimness. As they would say in Shakespeare,
get thee to a nunnery t j H. So uh,
you know this is where I've heard of him. I
kind of want to say, get up and get out
right now. With this huge story going on in the NBA,
I am embarrassed for the fans of the team, for
(03:57):
the fans of the league, for the players that Mark
Cuban owns the Dallas Mavericks. I'm so unbelievably embarrassed after
a story that just took hold today and now is
dominating the NBA. The Mavericks have been completely disappointing right
this year, Right, we thought, okay, here they are, Luca
is gonna be great, and all didn't happen up, But
(04:18):
now they got Kyrie, it's gonna be great. Instead they
free falling through the Western Conference. Okay, still have a
chance to get in the playing round. Tonight is a
must win game playing the Bulls, right, must win game
playing the Bulls. The decision comes out earlier in the
day that Kyrie Irving and four other players are going
to sit for the Mavericks. Are they injured? No, no, no, no, no, no,
(04:39):
this is this was just a decision that was made
for quote, precautionary reasons because the players could get hurt
or they could win a game and potentially ruin our
chances in the lottery. And yeah, going crazy to try
to make the playoffs is not something we want to do.
Wait wait what Yeah, no, Kyrie Irving, Tim Hardaway, Junior,
Josh Green, jin Wood, all are out right, All were
(05:02):
out tonight. And Luca don Sich played the first quarter.
We got that announcement late in the day. What about Luca.
Is he gonna play, Well, Luca's gonna play the first
quarter and then he's going to sit. And Luca played
the first quarter and he came out in the first
minute of the second quarter. And that's the last time
he has been in this game. And I'm embarrassed. I'm
embarrassed for the league. I'm embarrassed because I know Adam
(05:23):
Silver is not going to do anything. But here's Mark Cuban,
who already got fined six hundred grand for admitting to
tanking five years ago, and here he is basically saying again,
we're tanking. I mean he's in charge, he's in charge
of the operation. Right, It's Mark Cuban's team, and they
are absolutely one percent tanking again by not starting four
there with a chance to get in. It's a win
(05:45):
or go home night, and we're not going to start
four of our guys, including Kyrie, and we're gonna have
Luca only play a quarter. I'm embarrassed that he owns
the team. And I'm more embarrassed because I know Adam
Silver is gonna do nothing. He's gonna sit back and
just hope that this goes away because well, we'll be
into the play around soon and the Lakers might be
in it, and maybe the Warriors will be in it.
Now it'll be fun. Oh we got and he's gonna
(06:05):
do absolutely nothing, And you know, I don't know. I
don't know what I'm embarrassed for. I'm more embarrassed for
the for the league from Mark Cuban or the fact
that I know Adam Silver is gonna do nothing about this,
and Cubans just gonna run rampant doing whatever the hell
he's wanted to for his entire career, whether it's good
for the NBA or not, and he just gets to
do it, and there's no Hey, I'm the commissioner. You
can't I already find you once for tanking. You're taking again,
(06:27):
You're embarrassing the league because tonight this is the worst
of the NBA. What's on display with what's going on
with the Mavericks. There's a lot of best of on display.
The Lakers are gonna play their guys, they want to
try to get up and get in and out of
the playing round, and other teams are trying to do
it as well. But this is one of This is
like the worst of the NBA on display. Here's teams saying,
not only we don't care about this game, we have
a chance to get in the playoffs. We don't care
(06:49):
about that. We'd rather get out, be out of the playoffs,
have a chance at a high lottery pick, even though
it's kind of dicey, we have to have things fall
our way. This is just inexcusably embarrassing for the NBA
that this decision and comes out here buy the Mavericks.
So here. Tim McMahon, and he's part of ESPN's coverage.
He had the Jason Kidd's answer to how Luca responded
(07:14):
to the organizational decision. Quote, I can't speak from but
I think when you look at it, we all said
we want to have an opportunity to find a way
to get in, and we're going to play until told otherwise.
Today's the day we've been told that we're going to
do something different. He's going to participate in the first
quarter and then he's done for the season. Yeah. It
is truly the worst of scenarios, basically saying, well, we've
(07:37):
been fighting all all this time. We could get into
the play in but we're realistic we're not winning it all,
so to hell with it on the final day and
let's let's lose and then they go and play inspired basketball.
I like that all the guys that ended up playing
are issuing the big double bird back to the organization
(08:00):
coming up with a big effort today. And as much
as I, you know, don't want the Bulls to lose,
i'd like them, but they're the ten seed. Doesn't matter,
m I. I want to see the Mavericks win, so
everybody's kind of gets screwed in this. I want to
see them to win the whole thing. I want to
see them back into the playoffs. I don't want to
see them go on a run and win the title
(08:21):
and Luca and Kyrie don't play. That's what I want
them to win the title. And those guys don't play. No,
I like, I like your theoretical world in Earth, you know,
seven eighty nine. But once they're in, look we're all in.
Now we've made it play and look at us, we're
ready to go. Um No, I saw the headline come
(08:43):
through early this morning of guys in operations shutdown, and
it just smash in the face. And I'm not a
guy that gets too excitable about load management. It's something
that um is part of the game and whatever you
can negotiate, whatever job you're in, and if you've got
power to do that, go ahead. Little Johnny and little
(09:04):
Susie that come to one game aren't the ones that
drive the machine. I'm sorry, it's the reality. So if
you miss that game, here's here's a ticket to a
camp in the off season or a free jersey. But
the fact is that you're you're at a point where
you can literally make what they're calling the playoffs, and
(09:25):
you don't even want to do that. That's where there's
a problem. Like this is this is where you've jumped
like a lambing off the ledge for me, and it's
gone too far. I mean, this is this is just
the worst optics slash reality for the NBA, because tanking
is always okay as long as hey, just don't draw
attention to yourself, all right, just don't don't draw attention.
(09:45):
Everything's gonna be fine. No, no, no, We're gonna really
go forward by sitting our four guys, including our second
best player, and only playing our best player in the
first quarter. And I'm gonna go at odds with what
they want and what our coaching staff wants. I mean,
this is such an embarrass are sing optic for the NBA,
And but Adam Silver, I'm bled he will make up
for it by doing absolutely nothing. He will do absolutely
(10:07):
nothing on this and just say, oh, you know, we'd
like the guys to play. Look, if this isn't the
the shiny example, you need to know that the NBA
plays too many games. I don't know what else there is.
We've talked about it the last two nights about how
the NBA's gotta get rid of back to backs. You
can do it. You want the best players to play,
you want team You want teams to keep playing when
they have a chance of the playoffs and a chance
to go on a chance to achieve. But there's just
(10:27):
too many games, and teams are showing you we just
don't care, We really don't care. The Kings are sitting
all their guys night, despite the fact that coming into
tonight the second seed could have been up for grabs
depending on how Memphisis game went with the Bucks, and
memphisis thumping the Bucks right now, so that's going to
be out the window. But the game their player was
to sit there guys anyway, So it doesn't matter. I mean,
(10:48):
if there are if there are teams saying we don't
care about the games, we don't need to play these
many games, and then let's get it back to what's
more manageable and have more stars playing and be able
to not have to worry about back to acts and
the bad headlines and the bad optics like this rearing
its head. This should be a night where it's, oh
my goodness, this is like, this is the end, this
is the end of the gauntlet. Right, we're ready. We're
(11:09):
saying who's getting up, who's gonna wind up getting in,
who's out, who's out of the play in, who's out
of the playoffs, and into the plan, and instead it's well,
half the teams don't care. We're not playing anybody. We
really don't give a crap. Now, I get the teams
that don't have anything to play for. Hey, the Suns
aren't playing anybody against the Lakers tonight. Why would you?
You're locked into the four seed, You're worried about winning
a championship. I'm not playing Kevin Durant one more minute
(11:31):
than I have to because I don't want him to
get hurt. So I get that fate. Yeah, this is
just the Lakers the beneficiary of your playing a team
that has nothing to play for, And that's something I understand.
But this where you have things to play for and
you still don't do it. Why are you playing? Why
are you playing? If? If getting into the play and
round in the playoffs is not a big so let's
cut some games. And I'd love for there to be
(11:52):
some kind of big time discipline on Mark Cuban, but
there won't be. So I'm gonna say it and I'm
gonna hope to put it out in the atmosphere, but
it's just not gonna happen because Silver is gonna shut
it down and just up. I'm gonna wait for the weekend. Now, Hey,
un't don't forward all my calls. I'll get back in Monday.
I'm gonna go to someplace for vacation. I'm gonna go
to a darkness retreat. I'm gonna go where Aaron Rodgers was.
I don't want anyone to talk to me until the
(12:12):
playing round begins on Tuesday. No, I think that's really
what it comes down to is Sunday is the season finale.
He'll do a little state of the Union kind of
thing of look at what we have, particularly with the
big brands that are part of the dance. I mean,
Luca's being in there would have been all fine and good,
but you know they're not gonna cry over it too much,
particularly Dallas. To the point we're making a little bit
(12:36):
about that Clippers Lakers game the other day. It's the well,
you didn't do enough for the other eighty to get
yourself in, but this one just flies in the face
of competition, and Adam Silver will kick the can down
the road because he'll be able to celebrate, talk about
Nicola Yokich, talk about Jannis, talk about the Celtics, all
(12:58):
of these things. He'll happen to excuse for Jalen Brown's
hand all of those things he will do, and this
will be a distant memory. I fully anticipate there'll be
some tersely worded back and forth post game that we're
not privy too, and that you know, there's a conversation
(13:20):
that's had. Particularly seeing as Mark Cuban cries and wines
about everything, it would seem that the commissioner would stand
up and say, really, really, you're the guy that cries
about competition and everything we should be doing, and this
is the crap you try to pull. So I think
you'll have that conversation, but that's a private matter versus
the public face of we're odd to the playoffs. Well
(13:42):
what do you he would He's he's the he's the quintessential.
I'm just gonna shrug my show. What do you want
me to do? No one said anything. I have to
take Mark Cuban at his word that the players are
sitting out percaution day area and it's it's just so embarrassing.
I mean, this should be a night where everybody is
tuning in, Hey, this is it. My team's either in
the playoffs or they're out, or they're in the what
(14:02):
the play in? Or they're out and instead it's yeah, no,
I mean maybe we care, maybe we don't. I mean,
that's what it is, and it all depends. Maybe you know,
some teams like it, some teams don't. I don't know. Well,
what do you want me to do? Pretty soon? It's
just gonna be forfeits. Hey, we're not gonna play. We
don't want to play guys because they might get into
We're just gonna forfeit tonight. Yeah, precaution of precautionary reasons
(14:23):
for everybody I'm gonna I know, I don't even want
my guys four through ten that are gonna have to
be my one through seven guys. I don't want them
to have to play tonight. We're just gonna forefeit. We're
just not gonna play. Hey, we've seen precedent, not from
the forfeit side, but of Hey, here's here's what's going on.
We watched it during the COVID and aged like, all right,
we don't we don't have enough to field. What are
we doing? But at this point, and this is what
(14:45):
I love about tonight, This is what I love about sports.
The Mavericks have said, blank you Mark Cuban good. They
lead the bulls ninety six to eighty five, still a
lot of time left ten minutes ago in the fourth quarter.
But despite the fact that the Mavericks are sitting, everyone
every nobody is playing right now. I mean, it's very difficult.
(15:06):
I think Roy Tarpley is playing. Wait wait, wait, wait,
is Roy Tarpley, Roy Tarpley, is he playing? Is he
in the game? Roy Tarpley in the game? Roy Tarpley
in the game? Because I remember on the other side,
the Bulls are locked in st Roy Tarpley passed. I
forgot about that. That's my fault. I was trying to
think of big Mavericks from players from the eighties. That's
my fault. That's okay, though we said we celebrate him
in this moment. Yeah, okay, his name, so we thought
(15:27):
about it, so could You're right, because I could have
just gone, but but I wanted to get interesting with
with players like no, you know, Mark Acguire, you know
I didn't want to go. That's a good rash. And
you know Dirk. I mean, I'm just I'm just so
mad at Cuban. I'm mad that they won with Dirk
a few years ago. I'm mad that they actually had
that championship with Dirk a few years ago. That's where
I am psychologically. It's just taking you down a deep
(15:49):
dark path. I'm telling you, and I'm Norman, and I'm
in a great mood tonight because the Mets won on
open yegantry. Yeah, the poppy circumstances. You and I were
com is rating because look at you, and then my
team went and sucked again, when well, you still have
nine minutes, You still have nine minutes to do it.
You can still do something here. Oh no, no, no, no,
(16:09):
I was shocking about the White Side. Ohsa Pirates. Oh
well the Pirates. But buddy, it's banning practice against these guys.
This year. It's home You get a home running. You
get a home running. If the season ended today, I
think the Pirates have home field in the playoffs. Nobody.
Look at the Pirates, dudes, just like the Utah Jazz.
(16:29):
What a great start. Look at them now a stink.

The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harman weekdays at ten
pm Eastern, seven pm Pacific. How about this tonight out
(17:12):
of the National Football League. At a radio event tonight
in New York, Jets GM, Joe Douglas shared the stage
with boomeras Siason, other radio entities from w fa N,
you know, big radio station in New York and Boomers. Siason,
getting Joe Douglas on stage, said Okay, I have a
captive audience. I'm gonna ask the question, and Joe Douglas
(17:34):
gave the answer. So, Aaron Rodgers, he's gonna be here.
What the hell else is he gonna say? At this point?
I don't know, Hey, Boomer, can you play quarterback still?
(17:54):
Can you still throw? I mean, I know you have
to hope, So Nini, what do you think about that?
So he's gonna be Joe Douglas said, he's gonna be
Here's everybody goes crazy. In the audience, joining us now
on the hot line. Nobody better. Longtime NFL insider check
him out at out Kick. He is a Hall of
very good voter, probably voted for Boomers Sizing for the
(18:15):
Hall of Fame. Uh it is Jason Cole, Jake Cole.
What's happening, buddy Boomer Sizing? Seriously? It is? He was
very good. Boomer Sizing was very good. Yeah, he was.
It was very good. Chuckle Who who would win between
(18:39):
Boomer size and Chuck Alley? Who would win if you
hadn't make that argument? Harold Kerrmichael, Harold Kermo, Woolver, Montgomery. Yeah,
he's got to get into yeah buyers. Yeah nice. You've
(19:00):
ever made the Pro Bowl four times? You gotta keep
them in shore? Why not? Sure? Yeah? All, okay, So
you know it's not it's not gaucha, dude, it's goucha.
You know what I figure you guys lost the drop?
You like something that it's it's lost. No, it's not.
(19:22):
It's live drop Friday. It's it's gone. No, No, we haven't.
It's just live drop Friday, where instead of playing the
drops on Friday, we do them live. It's live drop Friday.
It's a whole thing. That's that's a lot. You just
made that rapp right off the top of your head. No,
we do live drop fread. We've been doing Live Drop
Friday for like a couple of months now. I think, Okay,
well Friday, will you sold it? You've sold it to someone.
(19:46):
Tisher will play it for you at some point. If
you want to hear the go aztex dude, all right,
raw raw, especially when you get all guttural like that. No,
that's good. Yeah, go assex dude all raw. So I
had a good run. So after hearing Joe Douglas, now
I means or whatever whatever what I'm thinking of the
(20:13):
old ABA team? Do I have that when the Buffalo um?
When the Buffalo moved to San Diego? Is that right,
Bob McAdoo? Or was what what were what was the series? Yeah?
It was the San Diego Conquista Doors. Yeah, that's that's
why I wasn't I see Conquista Doors did exist in
San Diego. Literally accused seventy two to seventy five. Hey,
(20:35):
that's right, then, DJ clearly the primetime due of Cortez
and Francisco Pizarro getting it done for the Okay, they
were conduc they were conquaes. The doors. Don't do that.
I'm learning about Francisco bar Just don't give me Burnt.
Do anything but Burman, anything but anything but Burman. Hall
(20:58):
of Famer Chris Burn. He's a very good announcer. He's
probably is the he was very good. He was very
good in the seventies, eighties or something like that. Okay,
so how close can the jet? Can the Jets get
any closer to getting Aaron Rodgers without actually getting If
(21:18):
if Joe Douglas had said, like he coming now, I'm
want to put the question to you, you know, Bloomer
here he comes, right, what's gonna happen? If he's like,
I don't know, Like how we we have a lot,
we have all the confidence in the world, and Zach
Wilson and he's gonna be and then he just drowned
(21:39):
him out with booze. After that, it would have been
like it would have been like the crowd scene in
Young frankenstyle, like they would have been going to Karen's
head off, God so bad he's gonna be here, and
then Joe ll has to go, Oh, I just ruined
all my all my trade catchet By say we're gonna
get him. I just packers this whole thing. If it
(22:00):
doesn't happen, it's so roasted. He is so roasted. That's
like and hearing. The thing about is Joe Douglas is
now betting his his career on one of the most
capricious human beings in the history of the right, like
Aaron Rodgers. Yeah, this is solid, He's gonna play for us. Dude.
(22:21):
He was just in a cave trying to decide whether
it was going to retire or not. Literally he was
doing cave diving or whatever they call that. It was
just he was just in. He was in it. It
was like a hotel room. It's like a very it
was like a glamping hotel room. And that's what he
was in for two days. It's the risk Carlton of
cave it is. It's a chr glamping. Basically, he glamped
(22:44):
with no lights. That's what he did. And I don't
know that he was I don't know that he was
in the Darknesstrey to decide, is this literally the dumbest,
the dumbest offseason of all time. Aaron Rodgers glamping in
a cave and deciding he wants to play for the Jets. Like,
can you can't write that? Well, how can't make that
up any any possible way. It has to come out
(23:07):
of the mind of Captain Capricius. Aaron Rodgers, How do
you expect a guy to decide whether or not he
wants to play for the Jets? I mean, this is
not like I could go play for the seller. Well, well,
well put and exactly correct. I have to agree with
you on that. If if given a choice between playing
for the Jets and anybody else, yeah, I would probably
(23:27):
have to go into a cave and think about it
for a long time. I mean, look, this is an
unbelievable offseason where the two biggest storylines are a quarterback
who was going through darkness retreats and buying crystals, another
quarterback who was acting as his own agent and can't
get any offers. And you wonder why, uh, Lamar Jackson
still hanging out. Guess what, that's not anybody else's No, no,
(23:47):
it's a guy who demanded a trade when he was
already on the free agent market. Yeah no, it's good,
good time, like never, like that's why everybody missed about
that whole trade. Like he demanded a trade, dude, who
go go go negotiate one like you're you're You're on
the market already, like they've you're available in trade. Like
(24:13):
you don't have to you don't have to ask for it.
They've done it already. They put you on the market. Lamar,
nobody's biting at your price. When would you get a
clue your price is too high? Like this is this
looks like the youth car salesman who refuses to come
down on the price of a car that's been on
a lot for seventeen years now. We opened with one
(24:39):
GM Joe Douglas. Let's go to another one that used
to be and Steve Kime. Uh, what's the moratorium? You know,
statute of limitation before you start trashing anybody that played
in your organization. This guy didn't love football. This guy, hey,
he could have worked harder. This guy could have done well, well,
there's there there's a there's a little bit of a
(25:00):
danger there where did you just go? Yeah, he didn't
love it? You know, Um you picked him right, like right?
You did not suck that out in the evaluation. That's
why I remember it was a great line. Somebody would
(25:21):
it was who am I thinking of, Gil gil Brandt,
gil Brandt brand Yeah, my buddy, Yeah, your buddy, gil
brand Okay, he he said, you know, he goes to
steakhouses all the time because he's from Texas, so nothing
but red meat. Okay. But he would go to these
steakhouses and if he had a bad waiter and had
(25:42):
a bad experience, he would look at the waiter ring
goes Son down. I don't blame you, I blame the
guy who hired you. One of the great line of
all thoughts, Like Steve, the problem was not Kyler Murray.
Problem was as you selected, when you knew, you know,
(26:03):
when you didn't figure out he didn't love the game
as much as he should. That's a drop the mic
moment right there, J Cole, that's a drop that that
that's a that's a I like. I like Steve. I
like Steve time a lot. But this this is a
bad argument that he's making. It's a really really bad
argument that he's making. So um yeah, like, I know
(26:29):
the word is out there that Kyler doesn't you know,
put in that kind of effort and he's gotten by
on you know, on his quickness and ability to run
around that's true. Okay, that's that's absolutely true. Um, but
again that's not all on Tyler. It's just not like
(26:50):
you should have traded down and said we're not going
to take you at number one. You need to learn
that we're more serious or we need to have this
heart to heart talk before we of draft to you
and say your work habits not exactly what we're expecting.
I just think had they gone the other way when
you play it, what if for the NFL? Maybe right
now Josh Rosen is a three time Pro Bowler quarterback
(27:12):
for the Arizona Cardinals. That could be or perhaps not.
But yeah, but I will say this, there is um.
You know, sometimes you are damaged by the choice that's
on the table. That is definitely true. Like I'm taking
the best guy. That doesn't make him great, It just
means he's the best guy on the table right now. Yeah. Look,
(27:35):
every every year, some years you want the first overall
pick because you're gonna get somebody. Some years it's Andrew
Luck and some years it's well, I guess we'll go
for Jake Long. Who you know what I would number
one pick. I mean, sometimes guys are there that was
a parcel that was such a parcel like Parcels believing
all of Parcels BSh. We don't get quarterbacks at number
(27:58):
one overall. We want take those guys in the second
round play. You're a guy who took Drew Blood, soell
shut up. No, we want that tough guy with the
number one overall pick, and this and that, and then
we'll take Chad Henny with the second round pick. This
his ego won't be won't be as big and that.
It's like Matt Ryan was better than the combination of
(28:20):
Chad Henny and Jake Long like that, He's had a
better career than most two guys combined. You would have
solved the quarterback situation. Just take the best quarterback on
the on the board night situation. Maybe it was Parcels
believing the Parcels imagery that he wanted to throw out
there he won. I bet you he wanted to have
Phil Sims play quarterback and let's get him out of
(28:40):
the booth and let's put him back behind. I'd win
with Phil s Phil Simms had a great line, I
can't say it on your on this show. Can the
show are on the air, like I mean, because there's
things you can say say it. Well, there are some
shows I could say this, but basically Phil Simms called
called out Parcels once because you know, the Parcels had
(29:03):
the whole thing about you know, these are the quarterback
characteristics I look for. You want a guy without a
big ego, and that you don't want to take the
guy number one. And then he takes Bloods and Phil
Sims does an interview with him, and he basically says, oh,
you're like the guy who says, yeah, I want the
hard working secretary and then you hire the one who's
quite Let's just say good looking. Okay, that's that's we'll
(29:25):
leave it. We'll leave it at that. That's what Phil said.
But he alluded to that. Basically, I look at that.
That's a good one. That's Sims. That's Sims calling out
his old boss because he, you know, because nobody's full
of more BS than in the history of this game
than Parcels. He's really he's the king of BS. I
(29:47):
think that a great, great coach, a great a great coach,
and a great motivator and all those things. Don't don't
get me wrong. He knew how and he also know
how to play the psychological game with players better probably
than anyone in the history of the game. You know,
he knew how to you know, work LT, but you
know he gives off this. That's the other funny story
about him and LT. Like LT. When LT came out
(30:10):
of rehab the first time LT got instead of addicted
to drugs, he was addicted to playing golf. Right, And
so there was one time where LT they were having
a practice and LT is has an a tea time
in like half an hour after practice is over and
practice is starting to run along, and LT's gone, parselves,
(30:32):
I got a tea time at four thirty parselves and
he and they and LT had his car backed up
to the practice field so that he can get literally
backed up the car to the practice field. And where
you go, and he goes parselves. You got fifteen minutes,
and I got a dome like some guy doll parcels, Like, oh,
(30:53):
nobody's gonna run over me. But here comes LT. Oh LT,
what do you want? Well, what do you want? It's
like part of the like flipping through plays, doing okay,
which ones do we have to run to make sure
that we practice them? And like he's just flipping the
cut that one, cut, that one, this one done so
like that's why I like part myself so full of
(31:16):
himself when he talks about being the control guy, being
the master of the universe and the big dog and
all of sudden like no, no, you are whatever you
are depending on who the other guy is. And if
the other guy is LT. Okay, LT is the big
dog and you're the little chia wow. Okay, that's how
it works. Bill. He's on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two.
(31:39):
That is at Jason Cole sixty two. Check him out
on out kick and canvas him because if you have
a very good player from your team that you think
goes in the Hall of Fame, he will pet them.
This year, Keith Buyers, shut up. Corey Dillon has a
big chance of the Hall of Fame this year. Watch

Mike Harmon, I'm an ass Man Live Drop Friday. I
had the song and tonight we watched insanity in the
(32:34):
NBA as the Mavericks opted to said Kyrie, irving four
other players and play Luca dontchach for one quarter. Explain
it to me because they didn't want to make the playoffs.
Now we'd rather tank when a win would have kept
them alive, kept them in the playoff chase. No, no, no,
we don't even want that because we're not going anywhere.
(32:55):
We stink. No, no, no, we want to wave that
white flag. Jason Kidd talked about it before and after
the game, saying, hey, we're taking a step back to
hopefully take a big step forward. I mean like the
tanking the NBA. This is I mean this again. He
had a six hundred thousand dollars fine a few years ago,
Mark Cuban. Now it's time for something a little bit deeper.
At him Silver, have some guts, step up and get
(33:18):
it done. Well, your guy Porzingis is in the middle
of this, sure Borsings Porsanus. Is he the Lavian Shan
or Lad? Is he the what the Latvian dirk or
Latvian Sean? It's the lad, that's all good. But he
(33:46):
went to the hamburger. The thing but it is, you know,
part of the trade, right, it's protected as a if
they're in the top ten, where they keep that pick
or it can go away. Yeah, I don't know, you
want to be Look, it's ridiculous, it's ridiculous, But there
is an opportunity for somebody who needs a big bit
of advice, and that's Luca Donsitch because this decision by
(34:11):
the Mavericks has because of the the attention on this
and how ridiculous it was. This takes the attention off
of Luca in a season that for him was all
about his image being in the toilet, because this year
he went from he's next, He's unbelievable to a guy
that winds that can't be motivated to be in shape,
(34:34):
or to play hard or to play well with other
talented teammates. Is the guy a teammate killer? What kind
of guy? His image is in the toilet? But he's
given a gift now by the Mavericks saying you're not
even gonna try to stay in the playoff hunt here,
and now Luca looks like, oh, well, why didn't I play?
He should have just went crazy. I'm staying in the game.
(34:56):
I'm staying in this game. I'm not coming out. I'm
gonna play all the way through because I want to
out of the playoffs. He has an opportunity to revamp
his image and he's got to rebuild that because he's
got a chance because of all the bad publicity going
the Mavericks way, and you're gonna hear people the next
couple of days Lucas should just leave. He should leave
the Mavericks. He should say you're getting I should demand
(35:16):
a trade. Nobody would blame all these things. He has
a chance to revamp his image and get it back
to where it was a year ago. He's got to
be somebody who works hard. He's got to come to
camp back in the best shape that he's been in
coming into the NBA. He's got to be vocal. He's
got to be somebody who has his teammates backs with, hey,
(35:38):
we should have done this, and I got your back.
Whether it's Kyrie staying or somebody else, he has a chance.
But he's got to do it because right now he's
the beneficiary of this this boomerang plot line that's going
on that was, Hey, everybody was anti Luca. Now because
of what's going on with with Mark Cuban everybody else boom,
Now it's anti Mark Cuban, and boy, if you're Luca,
(36:00):
you want to put up with this for another year.
So yeah, he's got a chance right now to redo
and revamp the storyline and the narrative around him, and
he can do it this offseason. But he's got to
concentrate on he's got to come in and about whine
about calls all the time. He's got to be motivated,
he's got to be a leader. He's gotta be able
to show I can play with other teammates and set
them up so they want to come play with me.
Because right now, if you're a teammate, do you want
(36:21):
to go play with him? Hey, we've got porzingis Nope,
push porzingis out? Okay, great, what about Kyrie every Nope,
that didn't work. Okay, So what do we do now?
Maybe you guys can't play with Luca. You have to
flip that narrative and you have the chance right now
to do it. Yeah. I think that's the biggest biggest
thing is it's not gonna be down overnight. It's gonna
require a lot of trust and conversations and a lot
(36:43):
of work and sweat equity in the gym, right, because
part of the equation that you didn't mention. There was
also the quote that he had earlier in the week
about playing hard all the time, trying to defend why
he doesn't play defense, which that was I mean, it
was a genius. It's hard to play. Defense's hard to play.
(37:04):
Look look what I did. Look what I'd have to
do on the offensive end. I'm a wizard. Damn it,
I got nothing left. I'm a wizard. They don't pay
me to play defense. Come on. The crowd comes in
to see offense. Come on. So that's kind of what
he's saying. So it's it's a lot of Hey, I want,
I want to bring guys in, but there's there's a
(37:26):
lot that needs to go into this if you're trying
to sell other free agents for Zenas or keep Kyrie around. Right,
they were asked, Hey Kyrie, Yeah, he's a priority. What
about this guy. I'm not going player by player. It's like,
oh no, what about this guy and this guy and
this guy and one of all these guys could be gone. No, No,
(37:46):
it's a lot of them, a lot of them. But
he now you have to go from being a player
that hey, you were once the future the league and
now it does anybody want to go play with you? Really?
You can't if you give Lebron flak for he can't
get the Lakers in the playoffs by himself. What about
Luka dontage Man, you couldn't get him in. You couldn't
get him when you had Kyrie. Yeah. I think one
(38:06):
of the big things Jason is, you know, people want
to give him a pass because he's still young, like
he'd been in the league five years now. Yeah, he
should know. He should know Twitter at how about a
Fresca Mike and Swollen do him more on this story
more in another big story out of the NBA, coming
up next right here, Jason and Mike. Happy Friday, Happy
Live drop Friday. This is Fox Barsings Barsinger
