lead for the Nuggets still with three minutes to go
in the fourth quarter. We'll get to the latest on
this game in a minute, but first, I think I
have to report a murder ad reporter murder because food
tonight from Fat Seals right, and it's you know, we
came in and I gave my credit card to tye
Shirt to order food. We're all getting sandwiches from Fat sALS.
(01:09):
So I walk in, I go, hey, everything good, and
ty Shirt's on the phone with corporate Fat Cells because
apparently the last time we were we ordered fat sALS,
Harmon paid for it. So we ordered the food and
it went right to Harmon's credit card. So now Harmon,
Harmon is paying for all our food tonight. He's going
to get some kind of note, some kind of note
(01:30):
that hey.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
You paid for all the daycap the co host who
is not in the studio, and.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
He's going to have a heart attack and it's going
to be Tyshirt's fault. So ty Shirt's on. I just
walk int here. Tyscher going representative representative, this representative refund representative,
I was trying representative refund.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
This is hearing you hearing Tears for Fears show. It is,
this is this is this is a revenge on tyschert here.

So you're really struggling up that hill or so I'm
pushing quite well.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
So Harmers or Harmon driving up the four five to
the studio right now is the bus driver and Madison
just charge everything to Harmon's credit card. So now we're
trying to get can I order to sandwiches?
Speaker 1 (02:20):
Yeah? Yeah, Hey, everybody. Whatever else you want, anybody else
you want, put it lunch tomorrow, put it backside. You
have an update and good news.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
Oh okay, what's the good news? Are you ready? Yeah?
Our driver picked up the food. Okay? Is the bed
news still on Harmon's car?
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Now for now? How is it gonna leave Hartman's card?
How's it going to now?
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Tastes better knowing Mike's paying Oh yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Hey, hey, hey, add a couple of shakes on there,
as long as Harmon's paying for me, Hey, add a
couple of shakes on there.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Whatever else. He's gonna see that charge and go what
the hell?
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Man I work that night, or he'll probably yell at
his kids, did you steal my car?
Speaker 4 (03:01):
No?
Speaker 1 (03:01):
No, he's gonna get a phone call from Hi Michael,
this is uh, this is City Bank.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Have you used your credit card? If thattsals tonight? Everybody
has daughter's graduation? Why is that guy in that corner.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
You didn't tell us you were going on vacation, and
yet there's card activity.
Speaker 2 (03:16):

Speaker 1 (03:18):

for yourself at discover dot com. Slash match. Well, we
are series one forty nine away from the series being over.
The Nuggets have a one oh five ninety one lead
(03:47):
over Miami. It has been a big game for Aaron Gordon,
It has been a big game for.
Speaker 2 (03:57):
Bruce Brown. It has been a bit.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
Yeah, all of these things are, yeah, a big game
for Jokic, but a fourteen point lead now with one
forty nine left to go. The Nuggets put a nine
point lead, turn a nine point lead now into a
fourteen point lead. And here's the kicker. And here's where
we talk about the Nuggets being so good. Right, this
is why I pick the Nuggets in a sweep.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
And I'm gonna be.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
Mad that it's not gonna be a sweep because they
gave up the second game. The Nuggets were able to
maintain a nine to ten point lead with Nikola Jokic
out of the game for about five game minutes after
picking up his fifth foal. He came back into the
game just over the four minute mark to go in
the fourth quarter. It was a nine point lead. That
(04:39):
was the time where the Heat needed to cut into
that lead. Because you don't have the best player on
you don't have the best player the last three years
on the floor. This is where you have home court.
You gotta cut into that lead. Scott Foss is going
up and down the floor, going guys, I can only
do so much. It's still a nine point lead. When
he comes back in, they get it back out to fourteen,
and that's going to wind up being it for the
(05:00):
Miami Heat. It's gonna be a three games to one
lead for the Denver Nuggets.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
And Aaron Gordon was playing great, not only the game
in general, but during that stretch. This is a guy
who scored over sixteen points in a playoff game twice
this entire postseason, this near two month long postseason, only twice.
Twenty seven points for Gordon tonight, and he's gonna be
the leading scorer on his team. There's just over a
minute left in the game. It's Nuggets now one oh
(05:25):
eight to ninety one.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
At Miami.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
That is it a three pointer. Now you start having
to pull guys out of the game. Now if you're
the heat, this is an absolute sprown with that three. Yeah,
this is an absolute pull away by the Nuggets. And
again I don't want to say I told you so,
but at the beginning of the show, what did I say, Hey,
close game at halftime doesn't matter. Second half is gonna
be a Nuggets run away because they're that much better.
(05:49):
This is how the game's gonna go. And Game two
is gonna go down as being the game that it
got the Nuggets attention that we had to start playing better, right,
we have this is what we gotta do. We gotta
start playing better now because we gave away Game two
and we can't have that happen. And they go win
with two incredible blistering efforts in Game three. In Game
four to move one win away from the NBA title,
(06:12):
they were this close.
Speaker 3 (06:13):
To a two games lead on Sunday Nights. In Nuggets history,
every time they've led a series two games, they've won
that series, including all three rounds this postseason, they were
this close to going up two zero in literally every
round on the way to the title, which would have
been notable, but you're playing an eight seed. Let's be honest.
In the Heat, congrats on a great run, but I
think post mortems are appropriate, even though there's another game
(06:36):
to play in Denver with Game five on Monday night.
The Miami Heat have so often played like an eight seed,
not for full games, but in falling behind by double digits.
Tonight's the fifteenth playoff game in this run where they've
been down double digits, and the Nuggets are just showing
you what we thought all year long. They're the best
(06:56):
team in the NBA. They have been.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Of all the other teams that we could say, hey,
who's the top of the league over the course of
the season, right, the Celtics were there a little bit,
they fell off. The Bucks were there for a little.
Bucks weren't there for a bit. They played well at
the rest of most of the season, the last half
of the season, but then they get knocked out in
the first round. All these other teams that we thought
they could be the best, they're all gone. And the
(07:18):
one team that was left at the end that you
could say who did not have any real peaks and valleys. Right,
the Nuggets lost a couple of games late but the
Grizzlies went in the tanky, but then they wound up
winning some games at the end. But nobody was the Nuggets.
Nobody was as in vulnerable as the Nuggets were. Nobody
was as good front to back, nobody's been as good
in the playoffs. Sometimes it's that easy. A team is
(07:39):
just that much better. They're going to win the NBA title, that.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
Much better than the collection of opponents. This year, I
think that's for sure. The Nuggets earned the number one
seed in the West, and I would say for the
regular season they were better than the Celtics. Denver was
so good. I think they just kind of lost it
the last few weeks. They didn't have a lot to
play for. They lost five of six late in the season.
So when they finally they won their regular season finale,
that gave them fifty three wins less than Boston. If
(08:05):
Boston had been able to win the East and not
get beaten by Miami, Boston would have had home court
in this series the NBA Finals. Because it was a
fifty three and twenty nine regular season record for Denver
doesn't matter. They're up three games to one now. In
an NBA history, only one team has ever come back
from a three games to one deficit, that with Lebron
(08:25):
and Kyrie a few years ago with Cleveland.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
That's at least it was a few years ago. And
that's what the NBA is going to sell everybody saying,
there's a chance to watch on Monday. Remember it just
happened a few years ago. You don't have to. Lebron's
going back to the Heat for Game five.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
Jamie's gonna suit up in and Dwayne Wade, they're both
gonna play.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
The first two rounds of this postseason were more exciting,
frankly than some of the other season's first two rounds.
I think the ratings proved that out half the games
in these NBA Finals.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
I don't know. I'm a fan. I'm gonna watch them,
but I didn't really get tied to.
Speaker 3 (08:55):
The NBA Finals this year. And that said, congrats Nuggets.
You know, it's not four games to one yet, but
I think the whole country realistically believes that's it even
before Monday's game.
Speaker 5 (09:06):
You know.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
And that's the one thing to realize about this. Jason Smith,
Mike Harmen Steve to say, you're in for Harmon tonight. Look,
there's a lot of players we're gonna talk about tonight. Look,
Jamal Murray was fifteen and twelve, but yeah, Gordon with
twenty seven points tonight. Bruce Brown off the bench, he
had twenty one, had eleven in the fourth quarter as
the Nuggets pulled away that fourth quarter where Jokic was
(09:29):
on the bench and the series was there for the heat.
This shows you that, boy, the Nuggets really are that
good because their second unit, i mean not playing with
Jokic and him under they were able to keep and
maintain that nine point lead. It's almost like when you
would watch the Warriors in their heyday, right when the
(09:50):
first time around, when the Warriors had had a team
that was winning final after final, they had a great bench,
right Livingston and Igwadala, guys like that would come off
the bench and it was a situation where Okay, Stephan
Klay go out of the game and it's a twelve
point lead, and they come back in and it's a
fourteen point lead. It's not like the bench loses the lead.
(10:11):
They actually add to it by a couple of points.
And that's really disheartening because you think, Okay, when the
stars are on the bench, we're gonna have a we're
gonna we're to get the better end of the play.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
Good team.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Yeah, that's kind of what you saw tonight. Jokic is
on the bench and that he couldn't cut into the lead.
So you're wondering, Hey, this Nuggets team is really bleeping
good man, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
And they're still not.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Even getting hardly anything from Michael Porter Junior, who was
supposed to be the number three guy on this team.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
And horrendous shooting in these finals all the game. It
was that undred thirty percent coming into tonight. But early
fourth quarter, Miami at Home got within five points. It
was eighty six, eighty one, and Jimmy Butler is starting
to score. But then, as we mentioned at the time
a few minutes ago on the show when that happened,
Jamal Murray hits a three and Aaron Gordon scores again.
Gordon winds up eleven of fifteen from the floor for
(10:57):
his twenty seven points.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
Every NBA Finals, you can point to a game, a
backbreaking game for the opposition and say this is what
did us in and it's not a case of a
star player. It's not a case well, look, this game
did us in? Jokic was forty five and twenty rebounds
and thirteen assists. It's always a game where you look
(11:19):
and go the X factor that nobody expected to come
through came through, and it's Bruce Brown with twenty one
and Gordon with twenty seven. This is the game you
look and go, yeah, Jokich every game, every game, but
there's that one game in the finals where the superstar
doesn't do it all the way, and it's really about
the supporting cast. And it's a supporting cast player you
(11:41):
don't expect because if the Nuggets had won this game
tonight by thirteen and Jokic has a game like this
and he's out for a lot in the fourth quarter
and the end of the game, it's Jamal Murray with
thirty eight and third. Okay, Jamal Murray's a great player.
But you look back and see Gordon and Brown with
the big games. I mean, every NBA Finals go back
to a back breaking game and it's somebody that really,
(12:01):
this guy that hasn't scored in three months, banking games
off the.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Bench and does it. It happens all the time.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
Luke Walton had a game like that for the Lakers
in the finals, Greg Kite for the Celtics.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
I mean, you could go back decades. Saream rush with
games like that. Sure, it's that the reason, you know,
that's how it goes.
Speaker 3 (12:18):
But if you mentioned you gave the Yokich example, Hey,
if he had forty five points, and as soon as
I heard that, we'll wait awute, if he scored forty points,
they wouldn't have won the game, because, of course, as
we now know this postseason, they are zero and three
when he scores forty, including last Sunday when they gaged
that home game. If they hadn't gagged that game, series
would have been over tonight.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
I'm upset, man, I really because Nuggets in four was
such a great gutsy call that nobody else wanted to say. Oh,
I'll say Nuggets in five. Nuggers that No, Nuggets and four.
They're the best team. They're gonna wipe up the floor
at the heat just looking for a hot take. And
they just gave away games like like they did it
to me, Like they perpetrated that fraud on me, because
I'm the only one that said Nuggets and four outside
(12:56):
of whatever Homers and Denver are saying, we're gonna sweep
them because we're so good and Russell Wilson's going to
be great. I'm the only guy, I only national person
who said, hey, they're gonna win four, and the Nuggets
really let me down.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
And they had a chance to go undefeated at home
for an entire postseason because they were nine and zer
at home in these playoffs. At that point, the league
record is still ten and oh at home here, they're
gonna be back home and have a chance to clinch
it on Monday night. What I regret is not you you,
it's your pick me. It's the we're gonna hear that phrase. Oh,
it'll be a gentleman's sweep. We're gonna hear that all
(13:28):
the time between now and Monday. Gentlemen hate that phrase.
Don't know where it started. It's not a sweep. You
can call it whatever you want. It's not a sweep. Okay,
I know, four games to one.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
I always thought the gentlemen's sweep had to be the
other team gets game one and then the other team
sweeps the rest of the game.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
Gentlemen, that sounds sweep, kindness, like got winning one game on.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
Purpose, and I was nice.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
Look, look, Adam Silver called me and said, we got
to make sure people watch the finals. We'll give you
one game and that will make the next three while.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
Watch frendous expression.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
But I thought that's what it was you had, because
a sweep as you gotta win four in a row. Right,
You can't sweep without losing a game in the middle.
So a gentleman's sweep would be you lose game one,
but then you win the next four, or you lose
game two. You lose the first two games and then
you sweep the rest of the way, Like that's how
it would go.
Speaker 3 (14:13):
Just add that to the phrases that are ridiculous that
keep getting like ed NASCAR, it's hold Daytona, that's our
super Bowl. Okay, that's the first race of your season.
You have a concept of what the super Bowl is.
It decides the champion. It's Opening Day, it's more. It's
more opening day.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
It's not the opening day.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
It's a big deal. It's clearly a big deal. It's
not the super Bowl, so please stop calling it.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
Then.
Speaker 5 (14:38):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven

So the nuggets with the wind we'll get tomorrow on
that in a second.
Speaker 1 (15:15):
We all need to say thank you, Mike Harmon, as
when we ordered food tonight with fat sALS, I was
buying for everybody because you know I'm that kind of guy.
Thank you and uh oh yeah, because the effort was there. Yeah,
except uh what more could you want? That's all we're
asking for. Somehow, when Tyshirt ordered the food, it got
(15:36):
charged to Harmon's credit card. He could not change it.
The food has arrived. It's the greatest thing I've ever eaten.
So Harmon bought us all dinner tonight. He's not going
to be happy. I just want to say that right now.
I want to say it's.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
Not my fault.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
You're gonna vendmo him for Christmas or har It's this
is tis Shirt's fault, man.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
You know what, Ty Shirt, if you weren't worried about
so often playing tears for fears, you would have taken
care of this and they wouldn't have charged Harmon's credit card. Yeah,
finished chewing, Finished chewing that great sub you got there,
that big great up.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
Yeah, finished chewing.
Speaker 6 (16:13):
This is on the door dash app. And how shameful
is it that they don't have an option to change
a card if somehow you enter a wrong one?
Speaker 2 (16:20):
Like what? How is that not even a thing?
Speaker 1 (16:23):
I think that's how people steal identities? I mean that
that's exactly how it goes.
Speaker 2 (16:26):
What do you mean.
Speaker 6 (16:28):
Do I get an identity from door Dash? I'm trying
to pay for food?
Speaker 1 (16:31):
Yeah, well, actually Harmon's paying for food. He's not, I mean,
he's not gonna be happy.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
Just ven one will we get?
Speaker 1 (16:38):
Why?
Speaker 2 (16:39):
Why am I? Then it's your mistake? So because I
messed up, I pay now?
Speaker 6 (16:43):
Really?
Speaker 2 (16:43):
Oh yeah, yeah, it's your fault.
Speaker 6 (16:45):
Interesting, Well, you're gonna have to stop eating that food
because I want my food back.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
Then I've already eaten, hang On, I've already eaten, like
like eleven dollars worth of my foe.
Speaker 2 (16:54):
We'll be good. So two bites is what you're saying.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
So yeah, now Harmon's out money. Now, Harmor's out money
because it's your fault, because you're going to be able
to work now, and you and you and you know
I really, I mean if you were so intent, oh,
I got to make sure we play these tears for
Fear songs, which nobody else wants to listen to except
for me. Had you been focusing on your job, I'm
not well say that's not your job. Had you not
been focusing on that, you might not have made that
(17:20):
mistake with the door.
Speaker 6 (17:21):
What you're saying is somebody else should have ordered it,
since I was focusing on a more important job.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
Right, But we got a memo that says interns don't
do that sort of thing.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
No, no, no, you can't trust them to do it.
So now you have to and you have to ven
will Harmon for punitive damages. So it's like fifty dollars
over whatever the final price was, or you just call
his credit card and say it was stolen. You know
that could work too. That's true, because yeah, people that
they can't find They can't find any proof on the air,
they can't find any.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
Proof at all. They don't listen to this not good.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
But hey, listen, we ate pretty good for Game four
of the NBA to pretty good.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
Literally the greatest sandwiche I've ever read. Mike's paying for.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
It ty shirts out so much money.
Speaker 6 (18:02):
I mean, wow, I'm just gonna send the money for mine.
If that's the case, you're gonna have.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
To do, You're gonna have to some kind of make
money on some kind of anime podcast to make money
be able to pay.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
Dude for dis order. I'm gonna have to work two
months here. You're gonna have to stay and do the dishes.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
Dude, four sandwiches. It's like I was like one hundred dollars.
I'm because I got a shake too. It's so good.
It's like one hundred dollars man, or make an armor pay.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
It's not my fault. APP sucks.
Speaker 6 (18:23):
Oh boy, over door dash, I said it, it's the
apps fault.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
It is gonna shake you Harmity Harp is gonna show
up here.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
It's gonna be like one of those WW matches where
a guy is getting beat up in the center of
the ring and the hero comes out from the locker room,
and then everybody starts going crazy.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
And it turns out to be a hero sandwich.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
He just starts clear cleaning house, like knocking everybody out.
That's gonna be Harmon. He's gonna be with a two
by four and just start beating the crap out of
all of us.
Speaker 3 (18:50):
We know it's not gonna be Tyler hero because he
doesn't come out on the court for anything.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
Oh wow, I see him on there.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
Look for the guy in the bucket had its tile Hero,
it's there.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
I still think it's Gilligan. I was Ronnie cyclic dude, dude.
So the Jason Smiths with Mike Carmen.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
I've got one more three hour tour and that will
do it in Denver on Monday night.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
Uh No, I'll ven m Harmon money like ten bucks.
What is that gonna do? No, No, No, I'll ven mo
Harmon like a quarter of a sandwich. Yeah, Jason.
Speaker 6 (19:25):
Do you know how many people I talked to on
support to even have them tell me in different ways,
I'm sorry we can't help you that.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
I mean, I heard you say a hundred times representative
representative of them in the United States. Cancel order, cancel order.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
Please state your words more clearly, cancel order, cancel order.
I'm going to start answering the hotline ving forward. Hate
your representative, representative. We're sorry, we don't have those functions anymore.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
That's my dad, because you know, he fights with people
on the phone all the time about stop about stuff.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
Why did you j he always what's I need a manager?
I need a manager. I need a manager. Pressing zero?
How do I talk to somebody? Zero? Days are over?
How do I talk to somebody?
Speaker 5 (20:07):
No?
Speaker 3 (20:07):
It actually worked for me once this past week. Yes,
oh really, pressing zero?
Speaker 2 (20:11):
Yeah, I got a human ticket.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
Man, I think it's worked for me sometimes when you
press zero a lot, like I think sometimes that will
get you to somebody.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
Not press zero once President terrophone itself and it will
go ahead and put your call through.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
Fine, you jerk. Let me put you through to somebody
who is live and not AI. Congratulations. Please wait.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
So it's like that Jimmy Kimmel skit where he actually
they they talked like that, except they could actually say
anything they wanted live.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
It was a real person. Please wait. That would be
quite an eight hour shift.
Speaker 3 (20:43):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
The Nuggets beat the Heat one eight ninety five, and
they take a three games to one lead in the
NBA Finals. They can close it out three weeks from
Monday with a Game five victory. But that should give
Tyler Hero a chance to get back into the game.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
It may get shocked back into shape. Yeah, Shack can
get back, can play a little bit, Jamar n Ashford.
It's a go for Game five.
Speaker 1 (21:11):
But let's put to rest now the myth of playoff
Jimmy Jimmy Butler tonight twenty five points for the Heat,
nine out of seventeen from the floor. We told you
in the third quarter when Butler was just having a
very pedestrian like game, he had fifteen points. Butler has
a big game now and again, and everybody wants to
(21:34):
go crazy, right, I get that. Everybody loves Jimmy Butler
and certain players have a better image when it comes
to how they're viewed by the media or the fans.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
And it is more points per game in postseason. We're
not saying there's nothing there.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
It is.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
But Butler's a guy who scores twenty two a game.
And there's thirty guys, sixty guys in the NBA they
can score twenty to a game. And he has a
big game in the playoffs once in a while, and
it's playoff Jimmy, Well.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
It was a stunner first round. They were beating one
seed fifty. He had he had a couple of big games, right,
He had a couple of big close and even in
the in the.
Speaker 1 (22:11):
In game seven of the of the round against the Celtics,
Jimmy Butler was Okay, I mean, Jimmy Butler is not
This is not watching Kobe heat up. This is not
watching Steph Curry heat up with Jimmy Butler because A
it doesn't happen as often and B he's not as dynamic.
He's the best player on the heat he's their best score.
When he has a big game, people go nuts. But
(22:33):
it's a little bit where we go a little bit
too crazy just to say all this guy's here, this
guy's a hero. No, Jimmy Butler, if he was really
that good, he'd be a better player more than than
he is. And you're seeing now in the last couple
of rounds, Butler's been able to be I don't want
to say stop, but slowed down enough to wear He's
(22:54):
not controlling the game.
Speaker 3 (22:55):
Well, look how they had the three to zero series
lead against Boston last round and they only won the
Eastern Conference Final because they won at Boston in Game seven.
He did have a good game, as you mentioned, twenty
eight points, but the game before that he was five
for twenty one from the floor and they had lost
three straight and nearly gag the big lead.
Speaker 1 (23:12):
Yeah, he's not someone that can single handedly take over
a game or a series. But we talk about him
in the same breath as someone like Jokich, who can
control every single game that he plays in. He's just
not that guy, and I get that. We want to
look and have a hook into some kind of storyline
with Hey, here's the heat megan a run through the playoffs,
and it's not the Knicks, it's not the Celtics, it's
(23:33):
not EMBIID, it's not a big Superstars US. Jimmy Butler
has been a good player for a while. He's had
some big nights, he's had some big moments. He's had
a good career. But now suddenly it's all, yeah, watch Butler,
he's doing it. No, he's not doing everything, and he's
someone that you can keep down as the Nuggets are
showing you we are able to win games at home
or on the road. And Jimmy Butler can be someone
(23:54):
who we don't allow him to control the game, unlike
a guy like Jokic, who when he's out there, control
the game, whether he's scoring, whether he's pulling down boards,
whether he's setting up teammates. Guys like that are much better.
And Jimmy Butler, the playoff Jimmy thing is a bit
of a myth.
Speaker 3 (24:09):
Yeah, it's play He's still good Jimmy Butler. We're not
saying he's not a good player, but playoff Jimmy to
earn that nick name, you know, you're coming through more
often than he has. How Come, it's not like playoff Jamal,
because Jamal Murray's has had as many good playoff games, right,
and they're not thought of equally, at least have not
been thought of equally recently. And yet in the first
(24:31):
round this year, Jamal Murray had a forty point game
at a thirty five that he had a couple thirty
point games.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
The next round.
Speaker 3 (24:37):
He had back to back thirty seven point games against
the Lakers in a four game sweep. He had a
very very good game when they started at Miami this
past week. How come Jamal Murray's not playoff?
Speaker 2 (24:49):
Jamal? Look, Jamal Murray.
Speaker 1 (24:51):
We talked about him the beginning of the playoff and
I'll find a tweet and I tell you, this is
the guy we're not talking about enough, because this is
someone that's gonna the Nuggets the title. Because it's been
a long time since he's had a run in the playoffs. Right,
it's been a long times. It's bubble Jamal right twenty Yeah,
you know, he got hurt, He hasn't been the same player.
He finally comes back this year and he is a
(25:13):
phenomenal one a to Jokic has won. And to think
that suddenly this era of the Nuggets, like this is
gonna be it they win this year, you still have
these guys are really young, and Jamal Murray is healthy
after being hurt for a.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
Couple of seasons. We're not talking about him enough.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
This is a guy that's just his dynamic, if not
more dynamic than Jimmy Butler. And yeah, tonight was it
a big game, No, but he still dished out twelve assists.
He didn't score thirty five, but he was able to
control the game, and he has games where he goes
for thirty four when Joki scores thirty eight and it's
here's seventy two points and that's it for them. We
don't talk about we talk too much about about Jimmy Butler.
We don't talk enough about Jamal Murray and the impact
(25:49):
he had. I knew he was gonna be the X
factor if he was back to being Jamal Murray, the
Nuggets were going to win the title if he was
just gonna be okay and maybe not the player he
was a couple of years ago. Yeah, good luck, because
a guy like will get eventually will get surrounded as
you get deeper in the playoffs when it's one guy
trying to do it.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
But but you you have watched Jamal Murray be absolutely
fantastic these entire playoffs.
Speaker 3 (26:12):
Now, I mentioned earlier in the show that the Miami
Heat head coach is going to be Team USA and
assistant for Team USA at the end of the summer
the Basketball World Cup happens. Steve Kerr is the USA
head coach and yes spolsters on the staff. Jamal Murray,
I assume is going to play for Canada, right, and
they have Shay Gilders, Alexander and RJ. Barrett and fill
(26:34):
in a couple other NBA Nash Sure, I was thinking
more like Kelly Olyntock. But okay, I would love to
see a team with Jamal Murray and Shay Gilders Alexander
on together in this summer. Brian Orser and Brian Boitano.
Speaker 2 (26:51):
Maybe they'll go up.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Kristan Thompson, Dylan Brooks, Right, they're both Canadian? Sure, why
not Dyl throw that in there? Yeah? Fake to watch
out man? Watch out?
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Hey? Is it Rick Fox's Canadian? Right?
Speaker 4 (27:02):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (27:02):
At Rick Fox can play on this team? Here you go, Leah.
I'm kind of out of great great Canadian basketball players.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
I think we stopped actually with the Steve Nash refforts. Yeah, really, Steve,
Now you gotta any chance.
Speaker 2 (27:12):
At coaching, really can.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
At this point, guys are forgetting the greatest one of
all time, James Nasmith Justin Bieber. True, true, true, that's true,
That's true. All right, beebs can ball man, he can, No,

fat sALS sandwiches that are pretty expensive, you know, cause
I'm that kind of guy. Harmon's off ty shirt screwed up,
and somehow instead of putting in my credit card, they
charged to Harmon's credit card. I blame door Dash. So
who needs to pay Harmon back me or Tyshirt? So
far it is pretty close. It is fifty two to
(28:50):
forty eight percent right now. I can't believe it's I mean, really,
I did nothing for this ty shirts. Every day I said,
I'll pay you. Screw it up, you owe Harmon.
Speaker 2 (29:01):
That's not how this was. That is exactly how think
about it this way.
Speaker 6 (29:04):
If I was trying to focus on my job from
the technical astributes, you could have totally let Steve do.
Speaker 2 (29:09):
A rift and put the order in yourself. What a rift?
You rift on something? No, that's riff.
Speaker 6 (29:15):
I like him when he rifts riff rift. I was
hoping he opened to portal and went through it.
Speaker 7 (29:20):
No.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
A rift is a is a no no, no, that's
a remove my arms in a circle like doctor whoever.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
Okay, that's strange.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
But a rift is a is a battle of fight
or a disagreement. A rift, that's a rift. Yes, what
if I'm rifting. Then you are fighting with somebody and
you fight with yourself. You can riff is reading is fundamental,
That's that's a rift. Commercials riff raff, Hey, riff, how
do you Okay? I'm sorry, I can't do that one.
So again, please vote who should pay Harmon back again
(29:49):
Twitter at how about a fresca or a vote via
Fox Sports Radio on Twitter. Votes are coming in again,
very close right now, fifty three percent for me. Come on,
you guys realize, Yeah, if you can't one of you
guys can't afford to pay mic back, you guys are
gonna be on like Beckett duty, looking up card.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
Prices and putting cards in the protectors. You know.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
It's the equivalent of watching dishes if you can't pay
a restaurant, right right. So we'll update this because there's
a lot of great thoughts on this on social media
for tonight about who should pay. But speaking of paying, well,
the Heat are paying right now. They go down to
the Denver Nuggets one O six eighty three. It was
a big fourth quarter for Aaron Gordon, big fourth quarter
(30:30):
for Bruce Brown, and.
Speaker 3 (30:31):
They didn't make them pay exactly when you talked about
when Yokiic got his fifth foul, he sat down and
they were wet down ten and by the time he
comes back there it's still nine.
Speaker 1 (30:40):
That was when what that one O eight ninety five
is the fire? Sor I said, one O three three,
one O eight ninety five. That was the time. That
was when the Heat we're gonna get back in this game.
Yo kitch on the bench with his fifth foul for
five minutes and the Heat couldn't cut into the lead
at all.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
That was the game.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
It was Hey, they pulled, they they pulled away in
the end even more. But you can't into a nine
point lead when yokach is on the bench, You're going
to lose.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
That was the game.
Speaker 3 (31:04):
And so yet again Nuggets dominance over the Heat. The
Denver Nuggets have won nine of the last ten regular
season meetings between these two teams. It's looking like they're
going to win four out of five in the NBA Finals.
And a Nuggets team that has literally never been in
the NBA Finals until now since they came in with
the ABA merger back in the nineteen seventies, they're staring
(31:26):
at their first ever NBA crown.
Speaker 1 (31:28):
When Danissel was playing never mind coaching. I think it
was playing when they came into the league. So let's
see what head coach Michael Malone had to say he
met the media a couple of moments ago. Maybe he's
still upset. Worst press room ever in Miami. Let's see,
maybe he's a little bit happier tonight. Here's Nuggets head
coach after taking a three games to one lead.
Speaker 4 (31:46):
And you know we've seen that now in four games
in the finals where Aaron has had moments where he
has carried us offensively. He made threes tonight, obviously, which
is always a good thing. But I could be more
proud of Aaron Gordon and his impact across the board tonight.
Speaker 2 (32:02):
Rash nextro coach, you talked before the game that tonight
was must win.
Speaker 1 (32:06):
Now, with the opportunity to close it out, what's the
message going to be to the guys over the next
couple of days.
Speaker 4 (32:11):
Just understand that we haven't done anything. You know, I
told our guys the first thing I said, We're not celebrating.
It's a good win. We've done our job, but we're
not celebrating if we've done anything yet. We know we're
gonna have to go home and turn off the TV,
the radio, don't read the papers, don't listen to everybody
telling you how great you are, because we haven't done
a damn thing yet. We have to win another.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
Game to be world champions, and we're.
Speaker 4 (32:33):
Going to do that by simply taking it one quarter
at a time and we stay true to our identity,
we'll give ourselves a great chance to do that.
Speaker 1 (32:40):
All right, let's follo, let's art growing second, let's stark
for one second. Yeah, you know this is as much
as I like the guy, he's growing on me because
he definitely says what's on his mind, whether it's a
one off comment or not. This this is the guy
who after beating the Lakers in Game one of the
Western Conference Finals. Why aren't people talking more about us?
People talk the Lakers figuring stuff out. Why are people
(33:02):
talking about the Lakers know how to defend Nikola Jokic?
Why is that the narrative? I'm very upset, But now
it's oh, hey, don't read the pay we're up three
to one. Now, don't read the papers. Like who reads
the paper? I mean, come on, somebody that's old as
a coach and they stay off of the internet. We
haven't done anything yet. So wait, are you upset you're
not getting the narrative or now.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
It's no, don't get the new right, I don't understand
the Denver Nuggets, by the way, they've won five straight
road games in this postseason. The Miami Heat, meanwhile, only
one other team ever in the NBA's history had lost
four straight home games in the same postseason. Make it
too because the Miami Heat have now lost four straight
at home.
Speaker 1 (33:41):
So there's a little bit of Mike Malone. Let's get
a little bit more of him here, get it back
into him talking to the media.
Speaker 7 (33:46):
Third row Om Young so ESPM Michael and now you
talked about how this was a team effort, especially when
Nicola went out, But you've spent much of this season
having Jamal kind of, you know, run.
Speaker 2 (33:55):
The second team at times. I know you couldn't have got.
Speaker 7 (33:58):
Ahead of like this was a moment where you want
to prepare Jamal for this, But what did Jamal show
you kind of running that unit when he was out
there to put you guys one win away from a championship.
Speaker 4 (34:07):
Well, I think Jamal, regardless of what's going on, he's
gonna step up. He's going to find a way to
impact the game. And the most impressive thing for me
own was, you know, he had fifteen points tonight and
he was you know, five or seventeen from the field,
but the twelve assists only and zero turnovers and just
kind of, all right, they're putting two on me. Let
(34:28):
me make the right play. He did not get bored,
but making the right play. He did not say no,
I'm gonna save us and make try to carry the team.
He just read the defense, made the right play and trusted.
You know, that's a big part of our culture. It's
trusting one another. And I thought Jamal's trusting his teammates
tonight was just at such a high level and you know,
really proud of his performance. And again it wasn't just
(34:50):
Nicola and Jamal, Like, we're getting really really big contributions
from a lot of players.
Speaker 1 (34:56):
All right, So there's some of Michael Malub. We're gonna
hear from Eric Spolstra next hour on the show as well.
Is he going to get mad if someone says, hey,
to the untrained eye, it looks like you're out of
this series its performance. Uh, But coming up next we
welcome in one of our biggest, most trusted NBA insiders.
Is there a way out for the heat? Keep it
right here, Jason Smith, Steve Disager. This is Fox Sports Radio,
