Let's give this you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (00:29):

(00:51):
buying should be. Well, here we are Monday Night football.
At the end of the first half. If you like scoring,
you like the game. Even though it doesn't seem like
there's a lot of field goals, then there was a
lot of touchdowns and to no one's surprised, the Dallas
Cowboys are in charge of this game. Right now over
the Raiders. Raiders get a field goal at the end
of the half. But twenty four to nine is the score.
(01:14):
Three touchdowns for Dak Prescott, including one to George Pickens.
You're heard Monci Belonga's plate and the update where the
Raiders just stopp running out let him cut back and said,
I'm tired. Yeah, that's fine. You guys go in. You
recognize you're two and seven coming into this game. You're terrible.
The holidays are coming. You got other things on your mind. Yeah, yeah, yeah, Hollada,
(01:35):
you wanted to see that Avatar halftime. You were more
worried about making sure you had a good seat for that.
That's what Pete Carroll said on the on field interview too.
You want to get into the locker room right now
and see that Avatar thing. So thanks Lisa, we're gonna
go in. Yeah, we got five minutes because we need
to be back out here so we can see the thing,
the drone they've got flying around the field, because that'll
be really cool as a cross promotional thing. But forty
(01:55):
nine and a half was the total for this one.
We're already at thirty three, so feeling pretty good. If
you had the over now, we do have a fair
bit of drama from the first half in this game.
But oh no, that's not drama. That's that's like, that's
low hanging fruit. The first thing is this right, you know,
we'll get to the Cowboys part of it in a second.
But for the Raiders twenty four to nine and Gino
(02:18):
Smith sixteen out of twenty eight. Yeah, for one hundred
and sixty seven yards, a long first half and a pick,
it was Yes, the second half is just getting set
to kickoff now, sixteen out of twenty eight. He is
having a horrendous game. And not to mention the number,
the countless number of times he has thrown the ball
up for grabs. Dallas can't come up with an interception,
(02:38):
you know, because they're the thirty first ranked defense for
a reason. But I just can't help but feel right today,
we know we saw the end of Justin Fields as
the starting quarterback of the NFL, when Aaron Glenn said, Okay,
we're going to finish this experiment now because he's terrible,
and to Rod Taylor is going to be the starter.
I can't help but feel we're watching that happen now
(02:59):
for Gino Smith. Gino had a great run getting at
the back half of his career. He got into the
right system with Pete Carroll in Seattle was a borderline
top fifteen ish league average quarterback. Made some plays, but
you can see he is clearly at the end now.
He has not been able to put points on the board.
He's had a couple of big games, but outside of that,
the Raiders' offense is terrible. He has not looked good.
(03:22):
He leads the league in interceptions. All his throws are dangerous.
He gets sacked meant much more now than he used
to in the past. And I just can't help but
feel that we're watching the end. And at some point
the next week, maybe it's after this game, you're gonna
see the Raiders will say, Okay, Geno, thanks, Kenny Pickett
will come in and play, Ken Stabler will come in
and play, Jim Plunkett will come in and play. And
(03:44):
obviously they'll be in for a new quarterback next year.
But the era of Gino as a starting quarterback in
the NFL, like that's coming to it. We watched the
end for Justin Fields now today and the end for
Gino is coming real soon. Yeah, we get to that
same point of wondering, you know, how crippling the the
dead cat money is for future runs. But you sign
the deal. You've lived with it as long as you can.
(04:06):
The offensive line is terrible, as we've watched all year long.
They've had some injuries that took even their best players
off the board. But Gino taking what three sacks already.
We've seen him throw the ball in harm's way. We've
seen other plays where he's clearly not on the same
page with the receivers all at all, where it's five
yards out of bounds, you know, fifteen yards from where
(04:28):
the receivers are route broke, and he's just kind of
looking at him and shrugging. Now, one thing that did
come off the broadcast they're not exactly giving him a
whole lot of support here is they're run in play action,
but Ashton genty has two carries at the head. You're
not full of me. You're not full of me. You're
not gonna tell me you're gonna hand the ball to
a running back when you only have two carries. You
(04:49):
even had on the radio broadcast, Kurt Warner turned to
Kevin Harley goes, this is right, right, he's only got
two carries. What are they doing you know that kind
of thing. So where Kurt's raising his hand going wait, wait, wait,
what do we got going on here? You got a
guy that was one of the most heralded running backs
coming out of college in a long time. He's got
two carries. I know you don't like your offensive line,
(05:10):
but hey, we're gonna run play action. It's gonna fool
them and open things up downfield. Sure you know. And
and the thing watching about gino right, it's it's it's
not that every pass is bad, but just think about
this for a second. He just threw on a third
down play. He just threw to brock Bowers in the
flat and Bland is standing right there, gets his hand
up to knock it down. Could have easily been an interception.
(05:34):
He puts the ball in dangerous harms way. And I
don't mean where Hey, here's a pass that's gonna get
knocked down or incomplete. He puts the ball in harm's
way where ooh, that could have been picked probably once
every three throws, right, That's that's kind of what watching
him tonight like once there like he'll make a good throw, Okay,
(05:54):
then I'll make a bad throw and a throw bey
and then don't put one with Wow, that should have
been picked off again, Cowboys that there again. Their defense
is ranked thirty first for a reason. Uh, but you
can't live that way, and that's kind of mean. He's
got to understand that. Okay, if my guys aren't getting separation,
I can't just throw it there and hope that they're
gonna get it right. There's gotta be you gotta some
(06:16):
find some sort of scheme to figure something out. But
for the most part, for Gino, that's why he's near
the end. He's putting again, He's putting the ball in
harm's way every third pass, and that you know, that's
what I mean. You're gonna see the end of Gene
because you can't keep throwing a guy out there that
keeps turning the ball over like Gino does.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
Right now.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Obviously the defense is not playing well tonight, and the
Cowboys can do whatever they want to, but you can't
have that going forward. And you see the frustration level.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
Like I said, it's very very coincidental that that, but
a lot of allegories and a lot of comparison to
make with Hey, the Jets, like we saw enough of
Justin Field's not turnovers, but we saw enough of you
throwing the ball poorly. We're not gonna have a team
the last seven eight weeks of the season if we
continue to put you out there. The same thing for
the Raiders. We're not gonna have a team if we
continue to put you out there and you continue to
(07:01):
turn the football over. Maybe it's after this game, next game,
but you are seeing the end of the run. And
it's been a great second act. It's just ending really badly.
But this is the end for Gino. Yeah, with most
Hollywood films, I mean, the third act falls apart. I
mean we watched that all the times like that. Wow,
you really had me for that first hour and fifteen
minutes and then I was done. But with Gino Smith
(07:22):
coming into this game, you had more interceptions than touchdowns,
just eleven to twelve. But you know that that is
in today's NFL rarefied air still completing nearly two thirds
of his past attempts. Fine, but the number of potential
chaos throws have been high. And against this Cowboys defense,
now they have reinforcements, you're inspired to a degree getting
(07:45):
on the field. The memory of Kneeland fresh in their
minds and a lot of talk before this game, so
you know, thoughts with them because they're clearly trying to
get back to the business of football after a bye
week and everything that went on there. But you know,
you got some reinforcements, so I thought you'd get a
better effort from the defense. But to this level, I mean,
(08:08):
I also still want to ask Pe Carroll's like, are
you just gonna put genty and bubble rap? At this
point you knew your team wasn't gonna be any He's
setting things up for the next head coach. They probably say, listen,
we're gonna replace you at some point. Just make sure
he doesn't get hurt. Rookie Jean Robinson Arthur Smith had
him in that box, like, you know, he's really explosive.
He can do some things to maybe make life easier,
(08:30):
you know, for your rapidly descending quarterback.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Not the hell with that.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
For the next coach, We'll do it. Don't worry about it.
He's still gonna be great. He'll just be great for
somebody else. That's all it's gonna be. And boy, and
for two guys that I just want to highlight here.
Coming out of the weekend, great game. We'll get into
the Browns in earnest for the offensive side of things,
But for Miles Garrett is what I what I wanted
to say, because he and Max Crosby really great to watch,
(08:56):
and Max Crosby made a big play early in this game.
Do you think they regret it all? I mean, I
know the guaranteed money is all finding good. But every
Sunday or Monday night, when you know you're gonna go
and just get your ass kicked, does it get tired?
Speaker 4 (09:10):
No?
Speaker 1 (09:10):
No, no, Maybe go to the bank the next day
and you feel better. Do you feel bad on the sentence? Yeah,
on a Sunday, and then I feel good the rest
of the week. When you're soaking in the tub, you
feel a little bit better, I guess.
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Now.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
Meanwhile, the drama for the Dallas Cowboys, this is gonna
be one of the more sought after postgame press conferences
from Jerry Jones and Brian Schottenheimer. Ceed Lamb and George
Pickens not on the field for the first drive in
the first few plays the Cowboys had tonight. Was it
an equipment malfunction, was it something that happened, was in
(09:45):
an injury situation? Nobody knew. And then midway through the
first half, sideline reporter Lisa Salters said, we spoke to
the Cowboys, got a statement from them. It was a
coach's decision that Pickens and Cede Lamb were not on
the field for the first drive. The coach is done,
coincidentally the best drive for the Raiders because they've just
been doing anything they wanted to since they've been on
(10:06):
the field. So a coaching decision for the two best
receivers on the Cowboys to not be out their beginning
of the game. So we're gonna get that post game.
But man, as you can see, the Cowboys are one
of those teams and you know, we talked about it
with the Eagles last week where you see the numbers,
see what they're doing here in the first f Yes,
it is the Raiders, but Pickens and Cede Lamb didn't start.
(10:27):
Didn't matter. Pickens just caught another passer about fifteen yards
and he made three guys miss. The Cowboys are one
of those teams where you can see this story and
I don't know what it's gonna be, but I'll front
guess this and I'll say I don't think this is
gonna be anything the Cowboys are gonna look at and say, oh,
this is gonna tear our team apart. The Eagles are
great at dealing with adversity and living in dysfunction. Right,
(10:49):
we saw it this week. They lived in dysfunction all
last week and they shut down the Lions on Sunday
night saying, yeah, we're still the big bad guys in
the NFC. The Cowboys know the team that, yeah, controversy
does it. They swim in controversy every day. Now generally
it's not always on the field. It's off the field.
It's Jerry Jones, it's drama. But I don't think there's
(11:10):
anything that happened in this game with Pickens and Ceedee
Lamb that they're gonna be able to move past, because look,
they already have moved past it. Okay, I mean you know,
the two of them tonight combined for one hundred and
eighty two yards receiving. Okay, I mean they got two touchdowns,
eleven catches. There is nothing they're not doing Cowboys. That's
the one thing. Oh there's controversy, there's drama. No, the
(11:31):
Cowboys breathe it. So I have no problem believing that
whatever it is with the two of them, it's gonna
be okay because it already seems like it's okay. They
were late. If it was a real issue, they wouldn't
have played right. I mean, you're down for a couple
of plays. Did you learn your lesson?
Speaker 3 (11:46):
Eh?
Speaker 1 (11:47):
But rules are rules, right, Yeah? You have to hold
folks accountable. It's the old joke with the Cowboys, Jimmy Johnson.
What would you do if Troy Aikman fell asleep, I'd
wake him up. What would you do if it was,
you know, the last man on the roster, I'd kick
him out and make an examp love them, you know,
It's it's that kind of thing. Hey, Troy, do we
need to go through that again because you were napping.
But for Lamb and for Pickens, we see what this
(12:09):
offense can do. I mean they bring destruction. Javonta Williams
has had a fantastic gear, but Troy Aikman in the
broadcast is like, well, they've got a three wide receiver set.
And it was an ISO shot of Lamb and Dickens
on the sideline to where he's like, wait, what the
hell this is interesting? Bold strategy Cotton kind of thing
(12:29):
coming out of dodgeball, and then Lisa Salters came back
with the coach will address it later. So I don't
know that I've ever wanted to hear from Schottenheimer more
surely on his first day. Do you think Jerry Jones
lets him talk about it? Do you think Jerry just
takes over when they said when Lisa Salters said the
coaching decision, that meant my decision. So to ask me,
(12:51):
I'm the guy to talk to now. So they went
to one of the last remaining buffets, so they miss curfew.
You know, I'm the coach, right, I mean, it's one
everybody knows. I'm the head coach. And Brian's that I like,
and uh he's there wearing the headset. But you know,
coaching decision that that that's me. Now, if we could
sync that up to where we have, you know, Jerry
Jones lips moving calling off the play sheet, that would
(13:11):
be something spectacular. We're gonna run red rot Rocket four
to six, toss power Trap, go ahead, I'll run it,
and oh take CD and George off Jason for that
first way too early for Red Rocket. What we got
we got no Red Rock. Geta can't run right, Okay,
I got Steven, Steve No, I mean it's ten o'clock east.
Got Steven's got to tell me. Can't run that play.
Can't run that play. I don't know what that was.
Got to run that run, run that play, maybe orange rocket,
(13:33):
but not red. We got to run the nnexation. You
want to go full red annexation of Puerto Rico. Let's
run that one too. I saw that work in the
Giants game earlier, but they all seem really small and
wearing different jerseys. But they ran that play for a
big touchdowns. We're gonna run that one too. They kept
calling them little giants. Don't know why, the regular giants,
But okay, little giants. It's kind of u a position,
little like like jumbo shrimp. You got little giants like well,
(13:55):
I mean, we saw little giants getting in a fight
with the judgment. Damn Dominic stereo a little bit at
raw and I too, so everybody in the news. There
was a great completion just now to George Pickens, and
it was one of those teetering things as he was
being tackled. I really thought he was gonna flip the
fall in the ball to Ferguson and instead he's down
inside the five twenty four to nine Cowboys with the
(14:17):
lead knocking on the door. Pete Carroll just looks puzzled
on the sideline every time they cut away to him.
We'll have more on this game coming up. Next, we
have NFL insider Jason lock and four. All the latest
on the Cowboys drama, on the sudden Browns quarterback drama.
What's next for Kansas City after they got beat on Sunday?
What about the team's making big quarterback changes? Jason Lock
(14:37):
and four always a must listen. It's next right here.
Jason to Mike.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
Did you bet that Pickens and Ceedee Lamb wouldn't start
the game? Did you get did you cash out on
that one?
Speaker 3 (17:06):
I did not but I mean, I'm laying points for Dallas.
I'm on Dallas money line. I'm going Doc to throw
at least two passing touchdowns, Gino to throw a pick,
and at least twenty four points for Dallas. So yeah,
watching them on the sidelines and watching them go free
and out, it's had me wonder. But I don't know
(17:28):
how much we'll find out after the game, how much
shot and Himer will say, obviously it didn't effect the
way they took this game over, and really it looked
like anybody could be the star for Dak Prescott tonight.
You know, Ferguson got his Lamb got his Pickens got his.
I think if they wanted to just run it down
(17:49):
their throat all night, they probably could have done that too.
The Rangers defense, you study it and you look at
the numbers, and then you watch them playing. They're like,
I really don't think they're that good, But the numbers
don't look that horrendous. But they've been blown out some
of these games, and teams have just you know, galved
it back a little bit. Teams have been willing to
just sort of grind it on the ground against them,
(18:09):
and they haven't faced that many good quarterbacks and when
they faced good quarterbacks, they've been exposed. And tonight's another example.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
You know, I want to go back something you said
a couple minutes ago. You said you had a Gino
Smith to throw a pick, like they'd actually take bets
on that, Like isn't that like a certainty? Like I
can't believe that's still up there for you'd actually bet on.
Speaker 3 (18:27):
Dude. It was like an opening like minus one twenty five.
I kept like, I kept looking at the app like
sitting it, like looking back at it and like trying
to hit refresh, and I'm like, oh, it's an half,
you can't refresh it. I'm like, is this real? And
even today I glanced at it and it was like
(18:47):
I want to say, I saw those like around minus
one fifty. I thought it'd be like more like minus
one eighty five twenty didn't this This one wasn't egregious
and it wasn't like entire on him. But it's now
happened twenty two times in fourteen home starts since the
Starry last year, and that's with two different teams. I mean,
I think this is now I've picking thirteen of his
(19:11):
last fourteen. Overall, he's played a nineteen career primetime games.
He's saw nineteen picks, So yeah, it caught my attention.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
Yeah, some good holiday generosity. And if you parlayed all
those things you laid out, you might retire.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
I did. I wish I'd have the ball to do that.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
That would be some next level stuff. All right, let's
go to the game closest to you, the Baltimore Ravens
and the Cleveland Browns.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Now.
Speaker 1 (19:34):
First off, the Mark Andrews play to seal. It might
have been one of the greatest little reverse wheel moves
that we've seen. But where's lamar at? Physically? It don't
look right.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
Not good, No, not good. I mean, look, he called
his own number first play the game, and while he
didn't break away, just watching him out on the edge,
his lateral movement, his hips, his twitch. I'm sitting there thinking,
all right, he's letting you know that he's back. And
then we never saw it was, you know, maybe two
more runs in the rest of the game, and there
(20:07):
was nothing special about him, and he looked to deteriorate
pretty rapidly mentally unphysically in that game. It's clear he's
frustrated by his horrific offensive lines. It's clear he's frustrated
by some of the red zone play calling and all
the run round pass that's become predictable. And I'm a
big Todd Monky guy, but they've gone out of their
way to try to re establish Derrick Henry's this battering ramp.
(20:28):
And the bottom line is he's the least efficient shortyard
he's runner in the NFL this year. Keep it looking
up and they keep leaning into it every time they
get in the red zone because it's like, well, now
is the time we're going to show you, and no,
you end up in third and eight in the red
zone in a constricted space, and then you're running gadget
plays and weird stuff, and like Lamar is also his
(20:49):
part of the reason he might be running all the
time in the red zone. He's being glitched more than
anybody else in the red zone, and he's being pressured
on twenty four percent of his dropbacks in the red
zone winning place. The league average is seven point one.
So like they've got yeah, they've got issues. The defense
(21:10):
has gotten much better, only three offensive touchdowns allow it's
Week seven that's best in the NFL. We do a
buy in there, but uh I they haven't faced greight teams.
But the defense has got its mojo back a little bit.
The offense, though, has major issues again the offensive line stakes.
So I don't think they're going to go very far
in the playoffs because if you can't get pressure against
(21:32):
decent offensive lines and you can't eat Miles Garrett from
getting a hat trick before halftime, it might not be
your year to hoist to Lombardi.
Speaker 1 (21:41):
Jason locking forward with us Jason Smith Mike Harmon, live
from the Fox Sports Radio studios. All right, now, it's
not often that the quarterback on the opposite side of
the field, for Lamar gets a lot of attention and
more than he does. But that's where we're at. Chadora
Sanders makes his NFL debut yesterday, a little roughle. You
should have had more reps with the ones. Now it
looks like we're going to get your door Sanders this week.
It doesn't like Dylan Gabriel is gonna play Uh what what?
(22:04):
What's your take on this unfolding? And now we're going
to get the Schudora Sanders experience.
Speaker 3 (22:08):
Oh look, it's clear to me that Kevin's the fancy
want nothing to do with this, and he made it.
Anybody knows anything about football can just tell that he's
in every single way from from the way he references
him or refuses the reference him at press conferences like
Kevin's a smart guy, Kevin's really sharp. I think Kevin's
done with him. He has and if this is the
wedge that he can use to get his ass out
(22:28):
of that in a year where he would be the
most coveted head coach, and I don't even think it'd
be that close, Like, yeah, I think he's got enough.
So it's pretty clear the owner wanted them to take
this kid. They already took a kid who's worse than
him two rounds higher. Uh, and that was their guy.
And so he's he hasn't prepared him to play, And
(22:49):
I would I would have thought that to the scenario
where he still would have been the third guy and
it would have been zappy like even the way he
ends up making his debut. It seems to me everything's
been done this advatage. And I mean, whether it's really
the kids called the middle and it's really again just
his way to get out of there and force the
owners to make a decision. But yeah, I mean it's
(23:12):
it's bad. But the idea that Joan Gabriel is even
an NFL backup let alone deserve this look, and they
were going to stick with him until he got hurt.
I mean, based on what it's not an NFL body,
it's not an NFL arm. He's behind a bad offensive
line with no real weapons, Like I don't I don't know, man,
(23:35):
But at least chadroll get, you know, at least this,
you know, the center should know what his staden sounds
like by the time he gets the first start. So
that'd be good. That'd be that'd be progress.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
A little bit of progress there. Look, if Stefanski, if
they want any kind of titles, he could just do
the Costanza, tie it to the back of a car
and drive around begging to be fired. But uh, here
we we have it. Uh Denver and Kansas City a thriller,
paint drying out a wall at time, but Denver wins again.
Do we buy the Sean Payton formula or are we
(24:06):
still on the wait and see?
Speaker 3 (24:09):
I mean I think I buy it. I mean, look,
I thought Amy reid off a bye with a chance
to get back in the division race with the team
as healthy as it's going to be, with Denver looking
a little bit wounded, so next looking vulnerable. That was
a chance, man, that was a playoff game. And for
(24:32):
them to have laid that egg in Buffalo and followed
it up with this, And I know the rest of
the schedule, the road games don't look that daunting and whatever.
But no, they've got issues. Then they've they've got issues.
You start getting punts like this, you know, Superman, all
of a sudden, there's some kryptonite out there. I don't know, man,
(24:56):
I don't think they're used to this, and I don't
think they're handling it very well. And to be the
team that nobody could beat in a one score game
last year and now they can't win a one score
game to save their life, Like, I don't know, I
think that's not just like natural regression in football. Gods,
Like something's off better. The offensive line hasn't gotten better,
(25:19):
and Mahomes is not having a good year, and Rice
came back and he teaches ten balls for one hundred yards,
Like there's no it's still no explosion. There's nothing dynamic. Yeah,
And the thing is it's not even like a few
years ago where this started to happen. But they were
an elite run team with Pacheco and they could get in.
(25:39):
You know, Andy was willing to sell out to run
the ball, and they'd put the extra they'd be out
there in jumbo formations, the sixth offensive lineman, and they'd
be they would be committed to being a physical team.
But that's not them this year, and they're caught in between.
And they don't get enough volume in the run game
or enough productivity in the run game to protect that defense.
And there's too many empty drives and the red zone
(26:00):
offense hasn't looked the same since Jerrett McKinney got hurt,
and that's a long time ago. So no, I think
things have caught up to them, and they're that division
has gotten a lot tougher, and the Chargers are probably
cooked with the state of their offensive line and Herbert
beat up. But Denver's not gonna wilt. They're not going
to fall apart. And while the quarterback has his warts,
he shows up in the fourth quarter man and every
(26:20):
time he had to step up, even in that playoff game,
he's he's done. It doesn't mean, he's to start digging
his own hole at times, but he finds a way
to dig his way out of it. So with Sean
Payton pulling the strains in that defense and a chance
at home field advantage in the year in the AFC
where it looks as wide open as ever, you know,
Lamar doesn't have a usual Lamar thing going on. Josh
(26:42):
Allen is, that's not the Bills teams that everybody thought
were known as the Bills teams got all kinds of issues.
So yeah, by Denver, all right.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
Jay, let's get to a couple of quarterbacks that are
either losing their jobs due to injure you or ineffectiveness,
and we're going to get the Kirk Cousins experience back
in Atlanta, Michael pay Junior gets hurt, he's expected to
miss the rest of the season. You know, I just
look back at this and I go eighteen months ago,
the Falcons just made such a huge issue with the
quarterback room. We're giving Cousins the money. Okay, that's great
(27:13):
because other teams would have done that. But then you
don't go and draft Michael Pennix or you don't give
Cousins the money, and you draft Michael Penick, and now
they didn't have Pennix, who was alternately good and you know,
frustrating a little bit this season. So now here comes
Kirk Cousins for the rest of the way.
Speaker 3 (27:31):
Yeah, I mean, look, it's that offensive coordinator stinks and
he doesn't like Cousins, and Cousins doesn't like him. But
I don't know how this is going to work. But
I mean, I don't think there's anything Zach Robinson going
to do to keep his job at this point, because
I think that whole coaching staff is you haven't fired now,
but I shouldn't be. I'm gonna be kind of fascinating
to see how this plays out, Like they're going to
(27:53):
keep making any stupid pistol sets when nobody has to
defend his legs like last year. I mean, the worst,
the least I think version of Cousins every would say something.
I don't know, man, I don't know how this is
going to go down. But Cousins just go rogue and
just do his own thing. And if he does, I mean,
even with London beat up, there's still a decent amount
(28:13):
of talent that, you know, hats off to Zach Robinson.
He put the ball in Dejon's hands last week at least,
So there's that. Yeah, the whole thing is bad and ugly,
and they needed to get Cousins out of their building,
but the owner wouldn't commit to eating the money that
it would have taken to do it. So that's a
weird place, man. Like, that's one of those openings that
(28:34):
I'm sure they'll they try to get a McVeigh offensive
guy this time instead of a mcveay defensive guy. But like,
I don't know that those guys are constantly available, Like
I don't know if he's producing them this quickly. So
it'll be a quarterback guy, and it'll be all about,
you know, restoring Pennants that I would say, they're the
ones who didn't build Pennix up the proper way from
the gidea up, including that quarterback room they thrust them
(28:57):
into and pairing him with an offensive coordinator who clearly
was not ready for that job. He's still not ready
for that job. Almost two full years.
Speaker 1 (29:04):
In and the Rams have their first round pick next
year and they fired Ike Hilliard. It was all his.
Speaker 3 (29:09):
Fault, yeah, right, Yeah, putting the wide receiver coach out
in on in late September early October. That's usually a
sign that the coordinator is a fraud.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
He's on Twitter at Jason lock and four. That is
at Jason Locke and four Odyssey one oh five seven
the fan in Baltimore, Washington Post Jay, thanks as much,
and oh hey, and enjoy since he was bench to
enjoy next year when Justin Field signs to back up
Lamar Jackson for the next five years.
Speaker 3 (29:35):
What they could do, That's what they could do. It
would be awesome. I'm rooting for that.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
Yeah, until you see him have to play.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
Hey, if I'm a Ravens fan, I'm glad it's it's
talked to Tyron whatever he goes by these days and
not just Juffield could have ran for one hundred and
thirty yards on each guy.
Speaker 1 (29:53):
See you money, We'll talk to you next. Does it
have a good one? Jason Locking for a lot more
optimistic about the Jets cham just a little bit. Yeah, man,
I'll tell you. Look, Justin Field's getting replaced as Jets
quarterback today. You know the thing is about the guy
(30:14):
if he could just he lost his job because he
simply can't hit wide open receivers like three four times
a game, if he would just complete the passes he
needs to win. Garrett Wilson is wide open in the
flat and not overthrow a guy on a big third
and six and put your defense back out there. Because
that's all it is. It's not that he's not incredibly great.
(30:35):
It's that he can't hit wide open guys at least
four times a game. It's you got to hit that
if you're in the NFL. And look, and I've told
you about him. If he throws the ball in the
middle of the field, he's good. But anytime he's got
to go outside the hash marks, forget it. It's an
airmailed baller. I haven't seen this act. I don't know
how he's still in the NFL when after all this
(30:56):
time he still can't make those throws. Figure out how
to unlock the physical guy we remember from Ohio State
and glimpses that's the aage of his stops. That's the
bar that said, is that all you have to do
is three or four times a game, hit the wide
open guys when there's no pressure on you and there's
five yards between that that wide receiver and the defensive back,
(31:18):
and instead the balls in the stands like, Remember we're
also going into week twelve. We're already into the mid
fifties in terms of quarterbacks. Who started a game exit
about a Fresca exit, swollen dome. Time to find out, now,
what's trending in the wide world of sports. From someone
who is now going over every single frame of the
final minute of the Clippers game with a fine tooth comb,
(31:41):
it's Mancy Belanos.
Speaker 6 (31:42):
I could have done that too for the next game.
Speaker 2 (31:45):
You mean the same boat here?
Speaker 1 (31:46):
Yeah, yeah, it was not goaltending.
Speaker 2 (31:50):
It was not.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
That was a weird call there.
Speaker 2 (31:53):
Yeah, No, we'll start with the Clippers.
Speaker 1 (31:55):
Why not.
Speaker 6 (31:56):
The Clippers were kind of cruising through the seventiess for
most of the game until Tyrese Maxi. He really turned
it on and brought the Sixers back to life, outscoring
LA in just the fourth quarter thirty seven to twenty five,
and that was enough. Philly won it one, ten to one.
Oa Tyrese Maxi thirty nine points in the win. Paul
George also made his debut today, which makes this even
(32:19):
more annoying that the Clippers lost.
Speaker 1 (32:21):
He had nine points and seven.
Speaker 6 (32:23):
Rebounds in his debut.
Speaker 2 (32:25):
James Hardy had twenty eight points.
Speaker 6 (32:27):
He has actually reached twenty eight thousand career points. Not
too shabby there. The Heat held on to defeat the
next one fifteen to one thirteen. It got close there, but.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
The Heat made it out.
Speaker 6 (32:38):
Norman Powell had nineteen points, leading Miami Raptors over the
Hornets won ten to one.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
OA.
Speaker 6 (32:43):
Timberwolves defeated the MAVs won twenty to ninety six. Thunder
rolled past the Pelicans one twenty six to one oh nine.
Say Gil just Alexander twenty three points in that one.
The Pistons of one ten in a row against the Pacers,
this one one twenty seven to one twelve, and the
Cavaliers took down the Bucks onent eighteen to one oh six.
Johannisnt To Takoopal left the game in the second half
with a groin strain. For Milwaukee, Donovan Mitchell ended with
(33:05):
thirty seven points. One game is still going on, and
it's the Bulls who have taken the lead from the
Nuggets in Denver. What altitude Ray harmon? What altitude I
can breathe? Bulls are up ninety seven to eighty five
two minutes to go in the third quarter of that one. Also,
Lebron James is listed as questionable to make his season
debut Tuesday against the Jazz. The Victor one Bayama's gonna
(33:26):
miss a few weeks of action because of a capstrain
for the Spurs. In the NFL, the Raiders got in
the end zone, but the Cowboys are still up right now,
thirty one to sixteen. It's still early in the fourth quarter.
Dak Prescott has thrown for two hundred and forty six
yards and four touchdowns. Ashton Gent, let's just see how
my fantasy team's doing. Real quick, guys, Ashton Gent five
carries and eight yards. Great, Thank you so much. Other
(33:48):
NFL news Yeah, yeah, yeah, no.
Speaker 1 (33:53):
Is it no desperate running? No, no, no.
Speaker 6 (33:59):
And I actually think this one is like super standard,
like the most basic of them all.
Speaker 2 (34:04):
So I'm doing great there.
Speaker 6 (34:05):
Texans quarterback CJ. Strout remains in concussion protocol, didn't practice day,
and you're probably not gonna see Michael Pennix Junior for
the rest of the season. The Falcons quarterback is headed
to injured reserve after aggravating a bone bruise in his knee,
and ESPN says he won't play again this season. Lastly,
James Franklin has a new home. Virginia Tech has hired
him as their new head football coach.
Speaker 2 (34:27):
Woo back to you guys.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
Thank you very much, Monsi, Jason Smith, Mike Harmon live
from the Fox Sports Radio Studios. Coming up next, we

Show with Mike Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven

Speaker 1 (34:55):
Fox Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Harmon. Early in the fourth quarter, a Cowboys safety, yeah,
has given them a thirty three to sixteen lead. We'll
have more on this in a few minutes because this
was a typical Raiders play. Bud Cowboys getting the football
back now with just under twelve minutes left to go,
(35:16):
they lead at thirty three to sixteen, but time off four.

your last appearance at Madison Square Garden after an unbelievable career,
you get to be the play of the.
Speaker 2 (35:46):
Day shune sing up. Last time is right now at
MSG on.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
The roof, just lifted off this place shuffle and his
(36:18):
name is John c WWE Monday nightra It's beautiful. We
got a fifteen knuckle shuffle.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
Come on.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
Great end, great end of the match for John Cena.
Who is Scario my guy Shamus. It was fighting in
the middle of his retirement career, the middle of the
retirement tour going on. All I saw him, It was
I saw him until I couldn't see him. Then I
couldn't see him. You know who I did see though
you know I didn't see which.
Speaker 2 (36:49):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (36:50):
If you're the New York Giants, you gotta call Cam
Scattaboo and go Cam. We gotta have a conversation. So
Scataboo is at WW. Today's tonight, huge wrestling fan and
obviously recovering from a very recent ankle injury that it
was ugly that is keeping him out for the season.
He's wearing a Ranger jersey and he's sitting near the front,
(37:13):
and obviously he was in on a bit that they
were doing before one of the bouts. So Scataboo's there
in front, and you know, there's the back and forth
about how bad a place that New York City is.
It's him and Dirty Dom get after it. So Dirty
Dom says, oh, you know, oh, it's the last time
this city's won a championship. And he looks and he
says to Cam and he goes, you know, Cam, can
(37:34):
you count? Right a Camp Scataboo can you count? And
Scataboo of course gets upset, and there's a big wwe
Donnybrook and Camp Scataboo is in the middle of it.
Speaker 7 (37:45):
Yeah, and I'm like, oh my god, if you're the Giants,
you're Joe Shane, you're the Mars, You're going hey, you're.
Speaker 1 (37:49):
Calling hey Cam Ah, Look, yeah, we were okay with
you being involved in this. That's great, but.
Speaker 7 (37:56):
Wow, stay away from the physical confrontations you're in the
middle of a scrum man.
Speaker 1 (38:02):
You mean a lot to this frand it's great. You
got all the giants sitting in the front row. They
get into it with the judgment day and Dirty Dom
on the mic, who's done a fantastic job as one
of the great antagonists fighting his old man as part
of this six man tag match. But then on the
other side, you got the Eagles at attendance too. You
got Cooper Dejen and Big Dom are there too, so
(38:23):
you got all sorts of potential cash. You could have
just thrown them in the ring and gotten after it.
But so to Scamo got in, I'm like, yeah, that
got a little too physical. Now, he didn't take too
much wear and tear here, but just the potential I'm
sure has folks a little bit nervous. I'm curious what
the conversation was before and after. Hey, we're gonna be
(38:44):
front row. They took care of us down at the garden. Great.
I don't do anything stupid, Yea. I feel it's one
of those Hey, listen, it's not gonna be It's just
gonna be me. They're gonna reference it, I'm gonna say something,
and then there's gonna be a thing. Oh yeah, yeah, no,
that's fine. Maybe Scato is going well. I mean, Shane's
not gonna be here next year anyway, when I'm back,
(39:04):
So let's go.
Speaker 3 (39:06):
Cam.
Speaker 1 (39:07):
Can you count? I mean, come on, it's a good
bit this well, wearing the Rangers sweater in the whole
nine years the last time the city's won a championship
and Camp's got it's in a Rangers chersey, Cam, can
you count? I mean that it's awesome, but like seriously,
like I'm not being a fun hitter, but I'm like,
if I'm the Giants, I'm like, oh my, oh my.
Speaker 7 (39:26):
God, be okay, oh my god, oh my god, what's happening.
I can't even see Cam. There's just a bunch of
people standing over him. He's everything. He and Jackson Darter
are entire franchise. Just be okay, that's gonna be some
kind of phone call.
Speaker 1 (39:41):
Yeah, but he knows how to take a bump and
he's got plenty of time to recover. Okay, And yeah,
the last I know, you were a little nervous as
you saw it. I was like, no, well, what's what's
his name? Got hurt out out of having dinner the
other night, Jack Hughes is out for like eight months, right,
He's you're here at you know ww that's great blessing
(40:01):
you want is hey after a you know, a twisted
and fell the wrong way and Monday Night raw, my
recovery is now set back for a few months after
coming Dominic Mysterios becomes a super villain. Like I really
I'm watching that going oh this is cool. Oh my goodness,
this just it passed over from cool to oh now
see And I'm even a Giants fan, I'm like and
(40:22):
I felt bad for him, going, oh, this is this
is not what any Giants fan wants to see. That's
great because this is totally upstages Seena's final match be
coming right. This takes into a whole other world, right
because just the largesse of Sina right, all the acting
jobs and and we talk about him in the DC
universe and a show that I love, uh he and
(40:44):
Robert Patrick getting after it and everything, which is great.
But now you have this taken to a whole other level.
The the explosion as he enters the ring, and now
it becomes about camp scat this is this is gonna
be where where the Giants call and they're like Duke
in Rocky four, Like when when when Drago starry spoilless,
(41:04):
when Drago kills Apollo and and and Duke goes.
Speaker 2 (41:07):
This is supposed to be an exhibition.
Speaker 1 (41:09):
An exhibition, that's what she's gonna say.
Speaker 7 (41:12):
This is supposed to be just mute and saying something
and not tackling him.
Speaker 1 (41:17):
This is supposed to be that's this whole thing. Well,
he had his offensive mind surrounding him, so that should
have helped exit out bout a Fresco exit Swallen Dome.
We get back into a big developing NFL story coming
up next right here Chasing and Mike Fox Sports Radio
