(00:23):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Greetings, Welcome inside, Happy Wednesday,
The Jason Smith Show with my big friend Mike Harmon.
I'm I'm I'm not at peace because the Braves are
simply never gonna lose again. And I got to deal
with that. Well, I'm recreating that the song I'll Never

(00:46):
fall in Love Again and rewriting it for the Braves
never losing. I mean, they're they're they're winning by six
and the eight. The Mets are getting smoked by Milwaukee
doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. Albi's breaks, his foot makes
no difference. Now they're gonna win again. And here's the
thing is, they've had a really good run going on
their social media with rip off knockoffs of the Oceans posters,

(01:07):
you know, with eleven twelve and thirteen. Now you got
to create something original else Saturday of the fourteenth with
Richard Benjamin from the seventies. I don't know what's other
movie with Saturday I met you. Most folks didn't know
that existed. No, you know, I remember because I thought
I was excited. I thought it was a horror movie,
like frienday, Saturday the fourteenth, Like is that the next

(01:27):
day he's got It's it's some really bad looking comedy.
I thought it was gonna be like, you know, Jason
warhe's his brother. Will you find out like he had
a brother? You know, you didn't know about that he
was the evil twin. They never did that Friday the thirteenth,
like introducing later later versions of you know, we need
to either introduce the maybe or a long lost family member,

(01:50):
and they never did that, Like, like what what if
Jason Voorhees had to Oh my god, he's got a kid,
you know, or all this long lost brother who was
killing people in another wood somewhere. Oh, look, now he's
come to town. And now they're not only battling over
you know, the teenagers in the camp, but they fight
each other too over territorial right, Yes, I mean I'm

(02:10):
the king. I'm scific nort. That's a great idea. Oh
you have Jason, where is his brother? Right? Like you
find out like like you just they start the movie,
just see, like a letter comes to him and he
opens it up and he reads it, like you know,
Jason vor can read. And he opens up and he
sees a letter saying, hey, you know your brother has
been released from wherever and now he's he like crumples
the letter and they go smash cut to the titles. Friday. Oh,

(02:33):
I like that better if it was a sister though. Okay,
any family just kind of tweaking a bit, but yeah,
that's good. And she wants the family business. She wants
to she wants the money made out a knife manufacturing.
Uh cabin big about the right you would sell these days. Yeah,
that's the official knife of a Jason vorhe Oh there
it is n f t of a Vorhees knife. You'd

(02:53):
want to get that fast though. That's kind of going
down hill. Well, I mean, look, everything goes in psychlos
So one of those dollar cost averaging kind of situations
for many across this great land of ours. So while
that's going on, remember I don't know if you know this,
but I've mentioned this like once or twice. You know,
I picked Darren Judge to win a l m v

(03:15):
P before the season began, and uh tonight is home
run number twenty five for Aaron Judge hitting three. Uh yeah,
Aaron Judge is gonna be your a l m v P.
And I told you he was gonna win before and
here he is. Give me the l m v P two.
I Alonso is having a great year lead the National
League and home runs at RBIs give both to Aaron Judge.
He's gonna at sixty home runs this year. That's pretty good.
I do. I do like what you got going on there.

(03:37):
I have. I picked your Don Alvarez as my guy
who's been no slouch, a tremendous, tremendous slouch. So he's
having himself a fine season as well. Not judging, but
you know what, plenty of baseball to be played. A yeah,
but boy, I mean my pick of of Judge Like

(03:59):
that's I mean, come on, man, the guys wanted all
yank with. Every day that goes by, it's like an
extra million dollars the Yankees have to add to whatever
contract they're gonna give him. Oh no, there's no question,
which is why you're don just got paid. I'll take
your money. Let's go. So yeah, good times. You've got
lots of baseball going on. We got a wild NHL

(04:19):
Stanley Cup Final game one, three three in the second intermission.
We got Dodgers Angels coming up. Yeah, there's just so
much going on in Sindergard pitching again, Frostburg is he
I bleep and hope. So I just really need to
see Kimberl like every night now because now we're sweating.

(04:40):
We are sweating Kimberl every single night. Now you sweat
you how much we did you sweat Kimberl last? That's good?
I mean when it was water weight. You know, he's
like McKay Beckton, like every day, you know, he loses
his weight, just fluctuates. That's a whole other thing that
we need. We need to get into at some point here.
Actually we don't. It's the jets and then before we're

(05:02):
eaving at training camp, way too much jet stick. But
again we go back to the Dodge just to finish
the point. They are thirty eight and twenty three and
you'd swear it was flipped from most Dodger fans that
you talked to, the injuries they've had, I mean, the
expectations of year after year, and then recognizing once and

(05:23):
for all that there's never going to be peace in
the bullpen ever. Finish the job right. The final final
stats are gonna look great if you look at it
in toal and it's kind of like your fantasy football team.
You look at the stats and go, wait, that guy
finished with what its like week the week he was terrible.
It's like he played every week. So it ended up

(05:45):
being right. Because all you gotta do to get to
a thousand yards you're under sixty yards a week with
the seventeen game season, right, you just need to get
out of field. I mean, this is the era of
Frank gore st Your best ability is your available Twitter

Slash match limitations they do apply. So as we have
a big night in baseball ago at night, UH off,

(06:28):
another one off for the NBA Finals, which we'll get
into coming up in another. The big controversy that doesn't
seem to go anywhere the last couple of days and
there's no solving of it, has been the live controversy.
Right is we're on the cusp and the eve of
the US Open. UH. Golf has been ripped apart at
the seams with so many star golfers going to the

(06:48):
live tournament because they've got all kinds of money, whether
they're guaranteed a hundred million dollars or fifty million dollars.
Everybody is mad, right. Golf Fans are mad because some
of the stars are going to go play on this
tour that gets zero row coverage. Golfers are mad who
didn't get invited to go. Golfers are mad who decided
to stay and saw the other golfers go. Golfers are

(07:08):
mad who went for the big money grabbed to this
new tour, and they're mad that people don't understand that
everybody is just mad. Right. This is a big controversy.
But I'll be honest with you, I really don't have
any sympathy for anyone in this situation, in this time.
I have no sympathy for people who wanted to leave.

(07:28):
I have no because this is golf living up to
its stereotype as an elitist sport. Right, Because this is
about stars, superstars, not the average PGA Tour player, not
the guy that's trying to make money on it and
is trunk slamming every Saturday or every other Saturday, is
hoping that hey, this one tournament, I made twenty five dollars.
It's the first cash check I've been able to cash

(07:49):
in the last six months. This is about stars, the
richest of the rich, right. This is Brooks kept going
Bryson D. Shambo and Phil Mickelson and Greg Norriton. This
is about obscenely stars listening to them bicker and fight
over how I can even make more money and how
right it is for me to make an obscenely larger
amount of money than I've been making so far on

(08:11):
the PGA Tour. Right. I mean brooks keptcause quote where
he says, yeah, you know, I golf, but you know
it's it's you know, it's not what I do. It's
just kind of who I you know, it's not everything.
Sometimes I like to do other things, right, like something,
I had a birthday, uh that I had to celebrate,
and you know, I wasn't really into playing golf around
that time. This is the elitest of the elite, because
this is a money grab by millionaires, by multimillionaires who

(08:34):
were saying, hey, we need to make a little bit
more money. Right. This is not about the average PG.
If it was, it would be a different thing. But
I have no sympathy for anyone here. If I do,
I have sympathy for the for the guys on the
tour that hopefully there is a tour that continues on
and there's not some kind of fracturing and the PGA
tour can offer as much money and the guys at
the bottom don't do it because the guys at the

(08:54):
top of all made money. They're all rich, they're you know,
they're all doing these you know, they're all playing these tournaments.
But for for this back and forth with Michelson and
I really I have no sympathy for them. Yeah, okay,
you're going to make money and now you're arguing about
what what it should be. Who gets to make more
money than the money that we're making so far? People
with networks and the hundreds of millions of dollars say

(09:15):
I need more, Right when dam I gotta go for
my facult is from my family? Um no, no, uh,
Dustin Johnson, I do this for my family. Dude. The
Gretzkys don't have enough money. You don't have enough money
from your career as a golfer. I gotta take care
of my family. Yeah, you gotta take care of your family.
If you say, hey, I'm gonna buy you a football
team one day, that's when you want to go take
care of your family. I really I have no sympathy

(09:37):
for anybody in this. Yeah, and look at it is
the as we talked about, you know, no competition all
these years, plenty of stains when it comes to the
PGA tour and how they've treated people through the years.
So you know, the wholier than thou routine that many
have taken with this is I mean hypocritical and really disingenuous.

(10:00):
Is at at times related to Dustin Johnson and company.
I mean, look at least he's being honest, I'm taking
a bunch of cash, right, I mean, he's just calling
it what it is. I'm looking out for my family
and this is generational wealth. Whatever the Gretzky money obviously
well noted, but just looking at it from a all
right I economically, I've got an opportunity to do great things.

(10:22):
And so what I talked about last week that started
to become the popular talking point of right as soon
as folks start going into all of their four oh
one case And maybe you don't even want to look
at the market place right now, but if you did,
and you went and looked at what everything's invested in
in which companies or what's in your pantry and started
to do your due diligence and break it all down,

(10:43):
would you would you feel as good about the stuff
that you're buying? Maybe maybe not, I don't know. And
you go into a lot of multinational companies and there's
money in places you would you know put in in
line with the arguments being had over the live tour
right now in terms of the people you're doing business

(11:04):
with and giving your money to and in this case
investing right when you open a new brokerage account, if
you do it online. Uh, you go through your bank whatever.
They're gonna ask you a bunch of questions about, you know,
your philosophy on investing, socially conscious, political consciousness, where do
you align you know this with your values here there
or whatever, and trying to get a profile of you

(11:26):
and most folks, I guarantee it just like any other survey,
it's the last answer says, make me as much money
as I can and they check that they moved next.
So with the Look tour, you have that now what
it's curious as you know, you've had a monopoly all
this time, right, shorts of wins, that's more money than
he's won on the tour and forever we can go

(11:46):
through a lot of those guys like you've you mention
you ripped off a few of the household names. There's
a lot of seat fillers in there that made more
money in that weekend than they've made years on the tour. Right,
and Schwortz was a great example of that. Coming way
with the victory, there's gonna be more guys coming up.
Obviously you've got the next round of guys coming out

(12:07):
of college, the up and comers. But on the tour. Yeah,
they've they've gotta pivot, they've got to figure out financially,
they've got to work with their sponsors, with their television deals.
It's uncomfortable, but you know what, disruptors helped push things forward.
And as much as this may be on savory your
political views and your worldviews, you may not like where

(12:30):
this is coming from, the reality is that maybe it's
forcing the p G A tour and the golfers themselves
into some uncomfortable truths about the way they've always done business.
It is if it was a different kind of controversy
or something that that average people could sink their teeth into.
Because it's not even about winning. If it was about winning,

(12:50):
fans and say, okay, I get it, what No, this
is strictly about money. This is where can I go?
Winning is not a big thing because what what? What's
been one of the big uh phrases for this turn.
Even if you finished dead last, you can make like
a uh for your seven weeks of work, and absolutely,

(13:11):
like Hudson Swafford, you got at least a hundred twenty grand.
You don't have no idea who that guy is, so
you go down in the list you've got your who's who's.
You got a bunch of guys that are just filling
out the teams and the event. But now it's the
the question going forward of what does it mean to
golf when you talk about world rankings, when you talk

(13:32):
about the majors, Because until that's what I mean, I
don't care if these stars that want to go, and
they want to go make all this money and even
more money and then say, hey, but I don't want
to be questioned about my reputation. Now you decided to
go take shady money to go just make me even
more than you could. So, yeah, I'm sorry, but you
have to take what's coming your way. That's how people

(13:54):
are sorry. You can't have everything. Yeah, but most of
these guys such as Hudston Swofford, he got his hundred
twenty No he asked him a damn right. He doesn't care.
No one's asking me anything. It's it's all those guys,
all the stars with great power. I want everything, paychecks.
I want to be able to go and make hundreds
of millions of dollars and not get criticized for it.
That I'm walking out on the tour that helped make

(14:15):
me my fortune, and I might hurt other people coming
up because of it. I don't want to be questioned
about that. I mean, let's said, no sympathy for those guys.

He's done. I'm done. I'm done. I counted all that. Now,
before we get to the NBA Finals, let me just
say this. On the eve of the U s Open,
we just talked about the the live controversy. The worst
nightmare for the p G A Tour is if one

(15:46):
of these live guys wins the US Open. Can you imagine?
Can you imagine how catastrophic that would be for the
p g A Tour to have to the guys winning,
to talk about them all weekend, and to have to
hand him a trophy at the end. Here, congratulations Phil
on your US congratulation being a major and not a

(16:10):
p g A event. Here, here's a big check, Phil,
And Phil's got the check there, and he's got a
live check in the other hand. Oh look, the lift
check is even bigger than this one. Feels gotta be
one after the way he performed. But any of those
guys anyway, But it doesn't matter. This is a separate
event from the PGA Tour. This is golf on display,

(16:30):
the first big event following the split and other golfers
are gonna go because they're gonna see that there's money
to be made, they'll go for the quick money grab.
Worst nightmare for the PG is to watch one of
these guys being handed a trophy, handed that big giant
check here. You gonna go ahead catch it and I
can go cash some some other money in a couple
of weeks. Got great. I know you're leaving right here

(16:50):
because you got your next event somewhere in the in
the Western and the Southern hemisphere. Go ahead, go wherever
it is, right, I mean, this is gonna be. That
would be the worst thing PGA to right now, going
just one of our guys win. I don't care, any
of our guys anyone, it doesn't matter who, anybody who
was on our tour. That we can celebrate and they'll
be popping champagne on the eighteenth all after someone taps

(17:11):
out for Bernie did I did I? Did I want? Oh?
They'll be so happy because seriously, you think about what
the flip side of that PR is gonna look like
with guys winning who are playing on the live tour,
forget it. That would just be awful. But it makes
me really want to pay attention this weekend. Well, but
then the p g A officials all get to say,
you know, it's a really tremendous win, but you know

(17:32):
what all of those other events. I mean, you're still
falling in the world rankings this week regardless of this. Uh,
Phil is one I just kind of throwing out there, Well,
I guess we can start going through the list. Uh,
you don't have many of the heavyweights, uh anywhere near
the you know, favorites, right, But like it's four days

(17:57):
and potential chaos and nothing else open, anything can happen. Phil,
as we've seen, has had his success. Now last week
we were concerned for him and some of the press
availability some of the photos Phil didn't look well. So
hopefully is okay and the stress isn't getting onto him
too badly because obviously he's wearing it more than anybody

(18:20):
because Greg Norman just looks like he hates everybody, so
it doesn't matter for him, It doesn't seem like it matters. Look,
this is this is this is the case of some
of the guys know what they're in for and then
like Greg Norman knows, Okay, I have sold my soul
for this, and this is what it's going to be.
He understands, right, he but as some of the other

(18:40):
guys that just don't that. They think they can go
here and play and make money. And then when this
drives up, when the Saudis lose interest and they don't
want to fund this anymore, they go, hey, p g
y you we're ready to come back, and PGS going, Okay,
let's see how we figure things out. That's how it's
going to go. And because eventually they're all gonna want
to come back. Everyone's gonna want to come back because

(19:02):
this is not a league that's gonna stay. We're not
gonna be in year twenty of the Live Golf League.
And here's where it's not happening. Well, I would say this.
You talk about losing interest, that's the only way it
goes away, because otherwise it's not like money is gonna stop, right,
I mean, what are we talking? Seven hundred billion dollars
estimate it's going to be. Do they want to keep

(19:22):
doing it because they want to get into something else,
or hey, you know what, yeah, we have money, but
this hasn't given us the bank for the buck anymore.
Let's do something else. Yeah, lift Tour has done everybody
O N and at the end of the year. No,
today we're pulling the plug. It's all the follow funding
is gone. We'll get your plane tickets back home. Well,
if you got your guaranteed appearance fees up front. Look
for a lot of guys even if you finished last

(19:44):
and I've mentioned a few of the guys that were
towards the bottom eight hundred forty k in one year
minus your taxes and whatever your fees are and everything
that you pay everybody out, I don't know you handle
that responsibly. That's more money then the motion will see,
even if they're drawing out a pension for years. Right,

(20:04):
So I mean it's it's a pretty big deal. Phil.
We paid you in bitcoin. I'm sorry that that's really
worth nothing now. But how we paid you, well, it's
it's you know, at a low so, Phil, we got
you at a value proposition. I feel bad for those
and how many of those NFL draft picks that said
I want my entire signing bonus in bitcoin? Okay, as
everything in bitcoin, And maybe if they did bitcoin, if

(20:29):
they were looking at it as a long play, you're
not dead now. If they tried to cash out today, right,
if they decided today they needed to go buy an
extra home and extra car, a home for a family
member or loved one. Yeah, it'll be a little tougher
because of the depression of the market. But if you're
in the long play, maybe that's not the case. Maybe

(20:51):
there's a turnaround, Maybe there's an upswing to be had.
I'm trying to be perry. I know you are. You
have to be Yeah, listen, Jim Cramer, just tell me everything,
bye bye bye. Just tell me saying that at all.
I have very little in my money in any of
that stuff. What was that Clooney movie where he played
the Jim He've been playing that a lot of that.
It's the box He's got the Boxing Gloves show. I

(21:13):
tried to do that as a fantasy years ago, like no,
we're not gonna touch it, and then like nine nineteen
different networks did it later on. It's like, you guys
really do a terrible JOm. It could have been fun
bing it's it's well, it's again a guy that loses
all loses in the market, like you know ship, Yeah,

(21:35):
you told me, well, it's like fantasy football. Yeah, I
told you. How was it was right to start, uh,
Frank Gore this week. I'm sorry, but you know that's
how it goes, right, But I give you the analysis,
and once they actually get on the field to play,
I don't know. I don't know that an executive suddenly
get caught up in a huge scandal and they are
most of the institutional knowledge or product knowledge, so everything

(21:58):
goes to hell. I don't know that Twitter it out
about a fresca Mike and Swollen don The Jason Smith
Show with Mike Carbon live from the Fox Sports Radio studios.
So while everybody's out watching money Monster, um, we're getting
on a lunch of late for Game six of the
NBA Finals tomorrow night. And I admit I picked Boston
to win the series. Not much has filled me with confidence.

(22:21):
They're ready for this game. Here's Jayson Tatum from the
shoot Around today talking about Boston state of mind going
into tomorrow night's game. Losing games six against the Heat
was extremely tough. But you know, in those moments, we
just responded. I don't know exactly you know what it is,
but you know, I think just our will to want
to win, you know, just trying to figure it out.

(22:42):
Nothing I have heard from the Celtics following Game five.
Today in Game six, hearing Jayson Tatum saying, hey, we
gotta figure it out. Nothing has filled me with confidence
that they know what they need to do to be
able to get past the Warriors. Nothing. They all sound lost.
They all sound like they're banging their heads against the
wall trying to figure out a solution. Emaodoka keeps saying

(23:02):
the same thing in his postgame press conference. I keep
telling the guys, we have to do X and y,
we have to do this, we have to do this.
And I can tell his frustration as a coach, because
when you have to say the same thing to professionals
as often as he does, that gets frustrating. I get
frustrated saying that thirteen year old girls the same time. Hey,
I told when we talked about this for like the
last six months, okay, but when it's a professional, Hey,

(23:25):
this is what we have to do. This is how
we have to adjust to win. And they won't make
the adjustments. They don't sound confident. They sound like they're
just gonna be grabbing its straws for answers. Right. They
can't solve the Warriors defense, which didn't get enough credit
coming into the NBA Finals. It was all about the
Celtics defense. But their defense is really good. Jayson Tatum
keeps turning the ball over. I think he's on pace
for the most turnovers in an NBA playoff. NBA, he's

(23:47):
got all that. Hey, congratulations, Jayson Tatum. Uh, nothing I've
heard tells me we're gonna bounce back in Boston, right,
Nothing I've heard tells me that. But if it's say
a very fat this is this is the one thing
that makes me think this series can get to seven games.
If it is a favorable officiating crew for the Celtics

(24:09):
and there's early foul trouble for the Warriors and that
opens up passing lanes and opens up things for Boston's offense,
then we got something. Then Boston can because we've seen
this before with Boston getting hot against the Warriors defense
taking the ball to the hoop. We've seen them do
it a couple of times in this series. But that's
the only thing that tells me maybe Boston can pull
out Game six because if it's straight up them against

(24:32):
the war Warriors are smelling a championship. The Celtics have no, uh,
no way to solve their defense. Jayson Tatum has been
up and down the entire playoff. But if you start
getting those calls and Draymond gets a quick two on them,
and you see another couple of guys with with a
quick too, and suddenly they have to sit. They can't
be as aggressive as they want to be. Draymond side
of the floor with Clay uh, that's gonna open things up,

(24:53):
and Nat is gonna be what can get Boston to
win and get them to Game seven. That's the only
thing I look at right now saying, yeah, if that happened,
Boston gets too Game seven home game. I think if
you could match a bunch of things you did the
last two games, both games you lost, then you're feeling
like you're in a pretty good spot. Right Steph Curry
in game five, you know, for all of the presence

(25:16):
talk and flowers being thrown at him and great player,
take nothing from him. You know he did some other
things well, but the amount of love and gushing for him,
it's just over the top. Other guys made plays. Andrew
Wiggins should have gotten more love than he did coming
off a Game five. He got some and some recognition,
but still, you know, you look at what he's done

(25:38):
this entire series. Now, at last I saw he was
either fifteen or sixteen to one to win the m
v P third best odds going on out there, but
or fourth, I guess. But when we look now, because
you could right now where you're at through five games,
it's Steph Curry is first, Andrew Wiggins should be second.
Who else is gonna win it besides the two of them? Well,
you got more, Jayson Tatum more, know more, Jalen Brown

(26:01):
love I don't know man again, because they're not giving
it to Andrew Wiggins if they lose, so we we
still have games to be played. But for for the Celtics,
as we talked with Dan Woiki yesterday, you noticed the
tired legs and it goes back to the Miami series,
and it goes back to some of those really frantic
games coming down late and deep into series to where eventually,

(26:25):
even if you're a young team, it starts to show.
Now we would expect it a bit more of that
from the Warriors that we haven't seen that, right, We've
actually seen them at times other times have been absolutely
catastrophically bad in the fourth quarter, but other times you've
actually seen energy, and that's what we saw in game five, uh,
and certainly game four when they had step on the

(26:45):
bench to start the fourth Draymond and Jordan Pool with
the offensive defensive substitution masterclass as we talked about. But
for this one, I need the intensity. The referee thing
would be nice, but the careless turn overs, like it's
one thing if it's a forced turnover, right, Hey, you
know guy gets a hand on a ball or you

(27:05):
know you have that, it's the other all right. I
picked up my dribble, and now that I see the
shot clocks winding down, I try to force a pass
down low, or I try to do a cross court
pass with no recognition of where any of the defenders
are and it's just picked off like a free safety
hanging out in his own coverage. Okay, So like those
things have to be cleaned up. I mean, you're not

(27:27):
winning a game if you're the turnover ratio is three
to one, right, and that's what it was last game.
It was eighteen to six overall. So that's the thing
A dooka in in the locker room. And for Jayson Tatum,
he's had some brilliant moments. He's had a great playoffs.
He's not been terribly efficient in great spots because people like, oh,

(27:48):
look he was lights out for three I'm like, yeah,
for about a four minute burst. The other side, he
couldn't hit the broad side of the game five. He's
awful in the first quarter. R It doesn't take a
shot till two minutes ago in the first quarter, and
then is awful in the fourth quarter. But those second
and third quarters, Hey, Jason Tative was good. Yeah, I
mean that parage was great. Four three pointers, right, they
hit what nine of ten during That's great. The rest

(28:10):
of the game, you got a guy. I mean he
had a couple of air balls in the fourth quarter
back to back two air balls. He only took five shots.

The only thing I can see them doing it. The
only way is if they get those good calls early
and you see the Warriors in foul trouble as started
games six now, they usually make him, make him known, tomorrow,

(28:56):
tomorrow more find out. Yeah, Well, especially if it's Scott Foster,
they're gonna they're gonna keep it under control until the
actually have the tip off. Like he's gonna be walking
onto the court with like a towel over his head.
Who's the referee? Now, I'm not gonna tell anybody that
he's gonna take his take the towel of on it.
Scott Foster's here for him, and and I do we
circle back to Udoka one last time. It's like he's
got to get guys to stuff complaining to the referees

This tells you how lost they are. I told you

Fox Sports Radio, The Jason Smith Show with my best
friend Mike Harmon. Game one of the Stanley Cup Final,
looks like it is headed to overtime. Just over a
minute left to go in the third Tampa Bay overcoming

(30:26):
a two goal deficit, uh to tie it up. And
it's been three three for a while and it looks
like we could be going to overtime. Tied at three
apiece again, just over a minute left to go in
the third period, Game one in Colorado. Uh So. With
the NFL News today involving Kyler Murray, second day in

(30:50):
a row, he's had a big headline today, we find
out ESPN reporting that Kyler Murray is the only starting
quarterback in the NFL to not meet with the media
during O T A S and minicamp. I'll take the
physical challenge. The others did at least once, and Lamar
Jackson is scheduled to talk tomorrow. Per NFL rules, you

(31:10):
have to do this. You have to meet with the
media during a mini camp. But if I don't, what's
the fine? Head coaching? Quarterback has to well, but what
if I don't, then you get fined. Then you get fined.
But this is part of what keeps the NFL going around.
It also doesn't like my guy as a mystery, especially
when I've seen him in interviews in the past or

(31:31):
he's been terrible. So what I think they're doing is
a very nice job of He's ill prepared to answer
questions about what's been going on to social media whatever else.
He has not hired the right advisory team. Thereby he
is not standing in front of him. He's a mystery.
He's an absolute uh. Look at this point, Kyler Murray

(31:53):
needs a football intervention. This just doesn't mean that suddenly
he's tanking his career. He's not going to get a
big contract, but he needs an intervention for a couple
of different reasons. Right, he's not been happy with the Cardinals,
but he's they're doing things when they're doing seven on seven's,
sometimes he's sometimes we hear about what he's doing. Sometimes

(32:13):
we don't. We don't really hear from him. When it
comes to his contract extension that the Cardinals want to
give him, we get nothing. He scrubs references from his
Instagram page. Here's the football intervention that Kyler Murray needs. Right,
I would sit him down and say, listen, dude, you're
very young in your career and you need to know
a couple of things going forward about what it means
to be a quarterback. One is, you're not as good

(32:36):
as you think you are. Night. You are a guy
that has a lot of talent and you've played pretty well,
but the NFL has kind of told you what they
feel about how good you are as a player by
not calling with f them picks offers when it looked
like you were unhappy with you. You're assuming Steve Kim
was in his office and taking goal So I think

(32:56):
your supposition of that look just torpedoes you're argument. We'll
get all these voicemails I have up Bernice, Why you
know what you do when you know what he did.
He just hit delete, just like you've done in the
past and I've done in the past. Those those calls
are gone. Hi, this is Joe Douglas. Delete delete, delete Uh.

(33:19):
No one called to make crazy offers for Kyler Murray.
That should tell you what people think that he still
is in a proven aspect of his career. When a
head coach communicates with you through the media, like Cliff
Kingsbury did yesterday saying I hope and I pray that
his contract extension is done, he comes and he leads
our as a team, this shows you there is a
disconnect between the two sides. A right, if you think

(33:42):
things are gonna go okay, you want to trade, you
think they're gonna do you a favorite. No, they're gonna
trade you to the NFL equivalent of hof If you
really want they're not gonna do you a favor. And
said you, hey, I want to go here. I want
to go No, Okay, No, they're not there, not anymore.
You're not gonna do it. No. But there's there's destinations

(34:03):
and then there's why I really don't want to go there,
And for many it. It doesn't. It doesn't need to
be a destination like this team specifically is not a destination.
But for different people, different destination. Hey, I'd like to
go to Atlanta, but I don't want to go to Tennessee.
Or I want to go to New York. I don't
want to go to Pittsburgh. Those guys, they're not going
to send you to where you want to go. Be mature,
show you are a leader, and go out and play.

(34:27):
Sign a contract. Don't sign a contract, but show that
you can handle being a quarterback in the NFL. And
all that's gonna do is good things for you throughout
because right now, the image of you throughout the league
is here's a talented guy, he's upset about something. We
know he might not be the greatest leader, and he's
got a maturity issue. That's what we know about Kyler Murray.
So change the narrative about that. Go out and ball sign.

(34:50):
Don't sign right if you want to wait for Okay, great,
you want to get out, but go out and show that, Hey,
you can trust me to be the quarterback, and I
can be the leader and I can be someone that
gets you to the next level. That's the biggest night
in tom because that's not the image, that's not the
narratives surrounding Kyler Murray. Yeah, the leadership and maturity thing
is the thing you triple underscore. Right. As far as
how good a player he is, I think he's just fine.

(35:13):
I think they've had some terrible management. Wait. I've talked
about Steve Kim a bunch, but in terms of roster construction,
but Cliff Kingsbury and his roster management in season, adjusting
the game, and this goes all the way back. This
is well chronicled. We've talked about this often. I know
it's been a talking point on the network of second

(35:33):
half of seasons. He's figured out everybody else you pivot right,
what it's all chess moves? All right, your move? How
do you counter? And he hasn't done a good job
of that For Kyler Murray, Yeah, improvisational skills are great,
but now we we need to push forward. Also, the
leadership maturity, that's something that's been coming out of the
locker room and whispers the last couple of years. So

(35:56):
not getting in front of the podium, that would be
the one thing I'd say, you know, at some point
you got to grow up and take take the hard questions.
Can't just be after wins and losses in season, that's
easy Twitter. And how about a fresca Mike gets swollen
down the Jason Smith's or with Mike Carmen coming up next,
something different surrounding the NBA Finals. This is Fox
