Speaker 1 (00:00):
Damn he hogged. It's time for donkey to day. I
mean trying to beat donkey today. No more. They should
be embarrassed by what they already did. I'm not making
these people do these days called donkey of the day,
and it really caught me off guard. Damn Charlomagne, who
got the donkey of the day today, wolles hilarious donkey
(00:20):
today for Monday, June third goes to the Honorable Judge
Cedric Simpson. It also goes to the Director of Saginaw's
Friend of the Court, and it goes to the Secretary
of stateon Michigan. Okay, the clerks, everybody who was behind
the injustice that happened to Corey Harris. Now last Thursday,
on May thirtieth, I gave out a double donkey, and
I gave it to Corey Harris and Judge Cedric Simpson
(00:41):
because Corey was caught driving during a virtual court hearing
for a suspended license. Y'all remember that story, right?
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Okay, if not, let me refresh your memory. Let's go
to local Ford News for the report.
Speaker 3 (00:50):
Police.
Speaker 4 (00:51):
Ever since some court proceedings went on zoom, you really
never know what to expect and This judge did not
see this coming.
Speaker 5 (00:59):
Mister Harris, are you driving, Ashley, I'm pulling into my
doctor's office. Actually, just give me one second.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
You can see the shock on his face. Judge Cedric
Simpson nearly speechless. The defendant, Corey Harris, had a suspended license,
yet joined the court proceeding from behind the wheel. The
judge needed to get something straight.
Speaker 6 (01:18):
I'm looking at his record. He doesn't have a license,
he's suspended, and he's just driving.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
That is correct, yourn.
Speaker 6 (01:24):
I don't even know why he would do that. So
defendant's bond is revoked in this manner, turned himself into
the Washington County jail by six pm to day failure
to turn himself in. While we resulting the bench weren't
with no bond.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
The judge told Paul Corey to go to jail. Directly
to jail, do not pass go because he was caught
driving during a virtual court hearing for a suspended license.
Turns out, though Corey should have never been charged with
driving on a suspended license, Okay, he should have never
been charged, and he blames the mix up on saging.
Friend of the court. Let's go to seven News Detroit
(02:02):
to listen.
Speaker 5 (02:03):
I was thinking about getting my own wife medical help.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
Corey Harris said that's why he was behind the wheel
earlier this month when he appeared before District Court Judge
Cedric Simpson, who knew Harris was appearing on a charge
of driving while licensed suspended. We spoke to Harris by
phone today and he said the doctor wanted to see
his wife for some ongoing medical issues that had worsened,
and he didn't think about anything but getting her there.
(02:27):
Corey Harris was cited for driving while license suspended in
Pittsfield Township back in October. He said it was suspended
for unpaid child support. Secretary of State records show his
license was first suspended for child support back in twenty ten,
but Harris told us he thought his license had been reinstated.
Speaker 5 (02:46):
They was supposed to been lifted in two years ago,
but they.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Didn't, and according to the Saganaw County Court records, we
found Harris is right. In January twenty twenty two, a
judge rect sended that suspension on his license, but for
some reason, that information never got to the Secretary of State,
where even as of today, his license is still listed
as suspended. The same records the judge was going by.
Speaker 5 (03:14):
Is very embarrassing, and with the type of ties that
I have with the church and the community, is very embarrassing.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
I've told you all on this radio before there are
certain jobs you can't afford to make mistakes in, Okay, doctors, surgeons,
police officers, and now we got to add the clerical
people who work in the court to the list. Because
this man, Corey had to report to jail embarrassed all
over the internet. He's a meme now. I said that
man looked like beetlejuice brother. I even gave the judge
donkey to day last week for not having sympathy towards
(03:44):
Corey because he said he would going to the doctor.
I diagnosed him with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and
maybe even a little diabetes because he looked a little
swollen in the cheeks. Come to find out, he wasn't
going to the doctor for himself. He was taking his wife, Corey.
I apologized, and you donkey today, I gotta take that
he haled back, give him that he haw and reversed
one time. Read that's right, Oti. This is what I
(04:09):
don't understand. How come the public defender wasn't aware that
Corey's license wasn't really suspended. The public definders should have
been doing some type of research on the case. This
is why public defenders get a bad rap. The judge
don't have this kind of information. That's what lawyers and
public defenders are supposed to do, present the proper information
to the judge. Or maybe the public defender didn't know,
because in twenty twenty two, as you just heard, court
(04:29):
records showed that a judge rescinded the suspension, allowing Corey
to drive again. But that information never got to the
Secretary of State because even as of last Thursday afternoon,
Harris's license is still listed as suspended, and that's the
same records the police and the judge were going by.
Paul Corey had to spend two days in jail, and
you heard Corey say, what the type of ties that
(04:50):
I have with the church in the community is very embarrassing.
And you know, there's nobody more judgmental than church folks.
It's a damn shame you had to deal with this.
Corey mentioned everybody in there. Mama went in on Corey.
Speaker 7 (05:02):
Listen, given the judges specials, that's Michigan courtroom. There a
man facing, yes, a suspended license charge in court appearance
while driving he still doesn't have a license, and now
he's got an appointment at the jail cell.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
I mean it's the judge's reaction as well. Wait, do
I just right are you talking to me?
Speaker 2 (05:25):
Ladies and gentleman, That man right there might be one
of the dumbest individuals that we've seen.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
I mean, when you.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
Talk about bloopers or or straight dummies, okay, and you
think about a top ten category, that dude is on it.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
So once again, I want to take back the donkey
of the day I gave you last week, Corey, and
I'm sorry that your five to six bottom teeth have
been broadcast in the world. I studied this meme this morning, okay,
because when I think of that meme, I think of
glasses and teeth. So I went to count his bottom teeth,
and he's got between five and six pastes the jets
Hillarity Jesus you and if you look at that, just
(06:03):
just count count how many thief you got at the bottle?
Just count them up, wonderful six six, because I can't
tell if his two teeth really close to each other
that looked like one big tooth. So it's six six, okay, okay, anyway,
please give Judge Cedric Simpson and the friend of the
Friend of the Court and Sagon of the sweet sounds
(06:25):
of the Hamilton's you.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Oh the day, oh the day.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
Ye come on now you gotta make sure y'all measured
twice to cut once. Man, humans make mistakes, but damn,
that is crazy. That's crazy.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
And you even say that this man is dying.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
I said he had high blood pressure. I was, and
maybe high cholesterol, a little bit of diabetes. You said
just a little bit. Is he is dying? And y'all
don't have no sense Like Jesus was pretending to be
his lawyer, That's what I would have said in court.
Look at this man, Joanna Corey cour five to six
in his mouth. You're not making it better. They're not
(07:17):
making it better. I'm just saying. So that's why he
was looking like, oh my god, yes, my god, Yes,
that would make sense. He couldn't believe it because he
knew it better. You should set him your book. Yeah no,
those reading glasses and I have to make sure. I
wanted to make That's why I look at the picture.
I want to make sure he was reading glasses. You're right,
(07:39):
we sent him. He sent him a copy. Corey Carr
