Why was that speech on so late last night? Well,
he spoke so long. He spoke for ninety three minutes,
and I'm with you. I was like all right, well,
you know, first I seen hul Colgan and I'm like okay.
Then it just kept going. Then Eric Trump spoke, Donald
Trump's son spoke for like an hour.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
I even I walked out of the room in that well. No,
I went to go pick my daughter up when that happened.
I saw howg Holgan.
Speaker 8 (02:18):
No.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
I thought Trump's speech was was pretty mid. Haw Cogan
was pretty haw Cogan was pretty good. Yeah, but I
mean it's hawg Holgan, Like, I mean, you know, like
all he had to do was go out there.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
And be a hunk lady. Act what you could, dude.
When the hukster.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
He got it Like you know, when you come up

Speaker 1 (03:23):
They were they were tie in too, man man, man Man.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
And the Trump's speak.
Speaker 6 (03:28):
Trump speech is just long because he's so slow when
he speaks, because he takes a long time to say well.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
I mean the first the first probably thirty forty minutes
of it was just him spiking the football. I did
enjoy him breaking down the assassination attempt, though, Why that
was hilarious because he started it off like it was.
It was a beautiful day out, one of the those
beautifullest days you've ever seen. It was just one of
(03:55):
the most beautifulest, warmest, happiest stage you've ever seen. People
were happy, people happy. They were happy. They were the happy,
they were the happiest. That the wind was blowing.
Speaker 8 (04:06):

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Good morning, y'all. Happy Friday. So did y'all watch the dress?
Last night?
Speaker 10 (05:04):
Trump addressed the RNC so he formally accepted the Republican
nomination for president at the RNC in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
It was the final day of the Convention and the.
Speaker 10 (05:14):
First time he spoke publicly since the assassination attempt on
his life. On Saturday, at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Now,
Trump took to the stage and addressed the crowd in
a noticeably softer tone. His aide said he rewrote his
speech following the assassination attempt, and of course his theme
was make America great again.
Speaker 5 (05:33):
Now.
Speaker 10 (05:33):
Trump slammed President Biden and the current administration, calling them
a failure.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Let's hear more for more from President Trump at the
r n C.
Speaker 11 (05:43):
I am running to be president for all of America,
not half of America, because there is no victory in
winning for half of America the current administration. We are
indeed a nation in decline with this administration. The damage
(06:03):
that this administration has done, and I say it often,
if you took the ten worst presidents in the history
of the United States, think of it, the ten worst,
added them up, they will not have done the damage
that Biden has done.
Speaker 5 (06:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (06:18):
So, Trump pushed back against Democrats claiming he was a
threat to democracy, saying I'm the only one saving democracy now.
Trump laid out what the campaign says is his plan
for a new Golden Age for America. He promised to
bring down inflation and in what he called the illegal
immigration crisis by closing the border. He also reiterated his
(06:39):
claim that the wars in Ukraine and Gaza would have
never happened under his watch. He spoke about inflation, saying
high taxes are fueling the inflation crisis, along with what
he calls the new green scam, saying he will end
electric vehicle mandates, and promised his policies will help the
American auto worker and strengthen the military again. He's plans
(07:02):
to close the border and catch and release policy and
finish the building the border wall. He also added that
he will reignite drilling in the US and make the
country less energy dependent.
Speaker 4 (07:13):
Let's hear more drill, baby, drill.
Speaker 11 (07:16):
We must get economic relief to our citizens. Starting on
day one. We will drive down prices and make America
affordable again.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
We have to make it affordable. It's not affordable.
Speaker 11 (07:27):
And I think everybody as a Republican, as a patriot
in this room, and most Democrats. We want people to
come into our country, but they have to come into
our country legally. I will end every single international crisis
that the current administration has created, including the horrible war
(07:48):
with Russia and Ukraine, which would have never happened if
I was president.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
I actually believe him when he says that, though, I mean,
just because of how buddy buddy he is with you know,
Putin and you know, the president of China and the
president of North Korea.
Speaker 4 (08:03):
There's a there's a part of me that believes that.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
But then there's also a part of me that feels like,
you know, he would have he would let countries like Russia.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
Have day way, you know, speaking of you know, tough stuff,
you know.
Speaker 10 (08:15):
He also talked about the assassination attempt on his life,
saying that he was only as he was only going
to tell the story once because it's too painful. Let's
hear more on his account of what happened on Saturday.
Speaker 11 (08:29):
There was blood pouring everywhere, and yet in a certain way,
I felt very safe because I had God on my side.
Speaker 12 (08:38):
I heard a loud.
Speaker 11 (08:39):
Whizzing sound and felt something hit me really, really hard
on my right ear. I said to myself, wow, what
was that. It can only be a bullet, and moved
my right hand to my ear wrote it down. My
hand was covered with blood, just absolutely blood all over
(09:03):
the place.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
Did you know that the that the ear bleeds more
than any part of your body, that's what that's what.
Speaker 4 (09:12):
That's what doctors told Trump. That's what Trump told America
last night.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
That the ear bleeds more than any part of your body,
more than your organs, more than your head, the ear.
Speaker 9 (09:22):
That's what.
Speaker 4 (09:22):
Did y'all know that? That's what he said.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
That's what he said.
Speaker 10 (09:25):
And he also he went on to say that, you know,
he's just a special case in that regard that he
was able to survive something like that. He went on
to honor the victim of the shooting, Corey Compretour, and
did say that he spoke to Helen Comparatour's wife.
Speaker 6 (09:41):
He actually kissed the outfit, kissed the outfit that was
on stage because they had an outfit I guess the
firefighters actual jacket and Conhattan uniform.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
Yes, he actually kissed the uniform when he was on stage.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Yeah, you think that the ear like he could have
died from that.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
He said that the ear bleeds more than any part
of your body. That's what he said last night. Doctors
told him that, and that he lost so much blood.
But you know, again, he's he's an X factor. I
thought Trump's first ten to fifteen minutes when he was
breaking down in the assassination speech, was hilarious.
Speaker 4 (10:14):
I thought it was really dramatic. It was so dramatic.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
I mean, by the way, no, no, I mean it
was an attempted, you know, assassination on his life. So yes,
that would be a traumatic experience. The way he described it.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
The drama, Yeah, it was. He did. He hand it up.
It was a warm and beautiful sunny day.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
The wind was blowing from the north. Everybody, but it
was so happy. We were so we were so happily,
happily happy to be there.
Speaker 4 (10:43):
That's right.
Speaker 10 (10:44):
Yeah, but even still, like you said, it was still
an assassination attempt so on that.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Yeah, so we'll talk about.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
Wait a minute, wait a minute, so holy Field could.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
Have died when Mike.
Speaker 12 (10:56):
Shut up?
Speaker 4 (10:59):
All right? Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. The rest
of his speech was very mid though. I wasn't impressed.
Speaker 1 (11:07):
Like I've seen I've Trump, I've seen Trump be way
more entertaining than that. I've also seen him be more
captivating in that. I wasn't impressed by the rest of
the speech. Hall Colgan way better.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
Yeah, maybe a near death experience will do that to you.
Speaker 1 (11:20):
Though, No, we're not gonna do that either now because
one thing I say, I said this to myself last night.
I was like, damn, I want everybody to give each
other to grace the media gives Donald Trump, because in
one week, it's like the media has forgotten who Donald
Trump is and all of the things that he said. Okay, yes,
I know he said he's not a threat to democracy,
(11:40):
but there is a long list that you can pull
up on chat, GPT if you want to that says otherwise.
And I don't understand why the media, you know, doesn't
reinforce that. Yeah, he can get on stage and say
those things, but you still got to remind people of
of of of of how his action said otherwise.
Speaker 6 (11:57):
Well, we'll talk about it next hour. H Morgan, we'll
see in a little bit. Everybody else, get it off
your chest. Eight hundred five eight five one oh five one.
If you need to vent, hit us up right now.
And I just want to tell you guys, there was
a huge Microsoft outage which is affecting all banks and airlines.
So if you have a flight out today, no matter
where you're from, give your airline a call because it's
(12:18):
saying because of this Microsoft outer as they have grounded
a lot of planes, there's a lot of gladas. So
give yourself a little extra time and make sure you
call your airline to see if your flight is actually
taken off before you leave the crib.
Speaker 4 (12:29):
This morning, right, I give you one word China stupids,
breakfast local board, the breakfast club.
Speaker 8 (12:45):
Man.
Speaker 4 (12:45):
This is your time to get it off your chest,
whether you're mad or blessed.
Speaker 12 (12:48):
I hate the way that you walk, the way that
you talk, I hate the way that you dress.
Speaker 4 (12:52):
Everything when me is best? Call up next eight hundred
five eight one? Not just me, I'm what the coach
of philing?
Speaker 12 (13:00):
Hello? Who's this?
Speaker 11 (13:02):

Speaker 9 (13:02):

Speaker 4 (13:02):

Speaker 11 (13:03):

Speaker 2 (13:03):

Speaker 9 (13:04):

Speaker 5 (13:04):

Speaker 2 (13:08):
I'm not even gonna hold you.
Speaker 5 (13:09):

gonna just come up with a joke on the vert.
Just you can use it if you want. What what
type of call y'all think? Jesus drop?
Speaker 4 (13:18):

Speaker 10 (13:20):

Speaker 4 (13:21):
I don't know, I don't know. Wow, Okay, I like that.
I like, I gotta hang up on you like that.
Speaker 13 (13:30):
I like that.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
That's a good dad joke. I'm gonna use that later.
Speaker 9 (13:33):
Well, let's be metro.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
What's bro eight O three? What's happening? Get it off
your chest?
Speaker 9 (13:40):
What's good? So I'm thinking, like, obviously there's the rumors
of Joe Biden nov to step down, and I think
he should if he does. I think obviously you put
Kamalin Harris where she's at, and you made rich and
whit murder VP. What you think about that?
Speaker 1 (13:54):
Shaw Man, No, that ain't gonna work American voting for
all woman ticket. You gotta go find a is white
man you can find. You got to go find somebody
in the Democratic Party that's mago white. Now, I would
like to see Kamala Harris and Josh Shapiro, but I
don't think America is ready for that either, because you know,
jos Shapiro is Jewish. But I think that is the
most solid ticket. But they got to go find somebody
(14:16):
like like white white. They gotta go find it white white,
like you said, like, they gotta find somebody that's the
most capital riot white in the Democratic Party. All Right,
well to put with Kamala. I heard some names, though
I don't. I saw a guy yesterday. What's his name,
Mark Kelly. He's an astronaut from Arizona. And another guy
(14:36):
that's been floating around. I saw his name was Andy,
butsher from Kentucky. They're gonna have to put her up there.
If Kamala's at the top of the ticket, they gonna
have to put her with a white guy.
Speaker 6 (14:46):
Well, get it off your chest. Eight hundred five eight five,
one oh five one. If you need to vent, hit
us up now. It's the Breakfast Club.

Speaker 4 (20:27):
I'm servicing. Britney every said, you know, it's sad, very
very very sad.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
It is heartbreaking.
Speaker 4 (20:41):
It is.
Speaker 7 (20:42):
I don't know how it was heartbreaking to see some
hyped dance, but I know he sounded like just like
Keith Robinson. But Britney Spiz shared opposed to her Instagram
addressing the criticism towards her and UH and people in general,
and she said, every single day on my ig number one,
I hardly ever did dance number two. I'm not poor
(21:03):
at all. I have more ligature in my left toe
than any grown man or woman on earth. If you
don't believe me, how long do you think I should
keep going for? In my transparent opinion, Wealth and Health
isn't relied solely on cash in your bank account, which
I have.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
Lots of that too.
Speaker 7 (21:18):
It relies on my quest and my own effing interest
in how I demonstrate and serve back these wise a holes,
just as Kate did. I taught dance class last week.
The post was pretty long, That's why I just stopped it.
But the biggest highlight is when she directly addressed the
Osborne family. She said, I'm gonna do a photo shoot
(21:38):
with Kate and tell the Osborne family, who is the
most boring family known to mankind? To kindly f off?
So do you know when white people get to beefani
Not really that interesting.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
But I'm tired of people talking about Brittany dancing too.
Speaker 7 (21:53):
She's doing something that she's like, all right, maybe i'll underwear,
don't ever come all the way up.
Speaker 4 (21:57):
But she happy. She seems like you happy with she does, right.
Speaker 1 (22:01):
But also to Brittany's been around long enough to know,
because she's an artist, when you put stuff out there,
people are going to have a critique about it. So
if you're gonna get online and publicly dance, you know,
people can say it looks sad or you know, they
think she's terrible at dancing, and they're gonna have critiques.
Speaker 7 (22:17):
Right they be, Well, you can always unfollow somebody, like
a guy's going to come on because for real, like
you don't have to watch her dance. And people have
said this for years and years and years, and it's
the first time she had a classic. She never said
anything about it. You know, that's CLI's girl. So he
(22:38):
should be coming sciences. No, he cause he'd be getting
mad when people being the comments, playing with her, ripping
her pieces, talking about oh, it's mental health and all that.
Speaker 4 (22:47):
She's just doing.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
I think she's just doing what she likes to do.
White people a lot of white people are kind of
awkward like that. Maybe that's like she looks happy.
Speaker 4 (22:55):
Man, when you said white people are awkward, like they
can't adapt, is that what you're saying? Yeah, I think,
I think. I think Brittany has proven throughout the years
that she can dads when she has the right choreography.
You don't remember I'm a Slave video? What and why
are you talking like that? You don't remember that video?
Speaker 2 (23:11):
I am a slave?
Speaker 4 (23:13):
Yeah, I'm a slave. I'm a slave.
Speaker 2 (23:17):
For you and then for real producer, Yeah he did,
But she could never come out with that song today.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
You know, you're right right? Think about can you imagine?
Can you imagine if a white woman came out with
that song in twenty twenty four? Oh my god, Twitter
would lose their mind. I'm a broadly ain't pull that
video up to cancel it now?
Speaker 4 (23:37):
Yeah? Please?
Speaker 2 (23:37):
Yeah, well you're giving people I did your chill? Just
leave her?
Speaker 4 (23:40):
No, nobody care, canceled, coaches being canceled, nobody cares, and.
Speaker 12 (23:44):
More white news.
Speaker 7 (23:45):
Rain Dissic calls out Courtney Kardashian and Travis Barker. So
that is Scott Dissick and Courtney Kardashian, Kardashian's nine year
old son. On Wednesday, the episode of The Kardashians, Courtney
and her son rained they had an he had an
issue with her kissing her husband, Travis balk That he

Speaker 2 (24:14):
He back on shore.
Speaker 7 (24:15):
That's actually one of my favorite bands growing up, Like
I Ain't Gonna hold You. I was a Blink one
eighty tour for real. But anyway, yeah, so the little
boy had a problem with him kissing and showing affection
and all that, and this is what he said.
Speaker 9 (24:26):
So it was my.
Speaker 4 (24:28):
Shock, Travis throwing you like, can't you just have a baby?
Speaker 2 (24:33):
Don't get another one? Miss quick.
Speaker 16 (24:36):
I think it's a beautiful thing to see parents, especially
ones that just had a new baby. You know, be
affectionate and loving. There's nothing wrong with that.
Speaker 4 (24:46):
Are you giving her a hickey?
Speaker 9 (24:47):
Now?
Speaker 4 (24:48):
No, it's a gentle kiss on my neck. Right, they
just missed him.
Speaker 2 (24:56):
No, we gotta play it over here.
Speaker 4 (24:59):
We all are right, you ask me on here? So
why why can't I hear you whispering the red tape
about you can't turn her, Mica.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
You can't turn I didn't hear the audio.
Speaker 4 (25:07):
When you hear the audio, what you thought you said?
Not try to throw you like, can you just on
the baby?
Speaker 2 (25:15):
Don't get another one? This click.
Speaker 16 (25:18):
I think it's a beautiful thing to see parents, especially
ones that just had a new baby. You know, be
affectionate and loving. There's nothing wrong with that.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
Are you giving her hickey?
Speaker 9 (25:30):
Now?
Speaker 4 (25:31):
No, it's a gentle kiss on my neck. I got
a couple of those. You can't say that, but yeah,
there's a bunch of holds out there.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
Slip all the fire out of Ashton. Excuse me, ain't
you nine? I don't.
Speaker 4 (25:46):
Why little kids be liking to do that. Little kids
be the biggest player. Haters. Get out of here.
Speaker 7 (25:51):
Because that's not his daddy. That's yeah, yeah, that's I
was really saying. That's Scott's son.
Speaker 3 (25:57):
Yo.
Speaker 7 (25:57):
Rain behaved noise mother for a long time, like he
always got something smart to say to her.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
But the biological kids act like that too, Like my
two youngest, they see you hugging their mom, kissing their
mom and mom hugging you to be like, get off
my daddy, get off my mom and pushing us apart,
getting in between between.
Speaker 4 (26:17):
That's different, but.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
Not didn't y'all just have a baby? God damn chill
y'all want another one?
Speaker 3 (26:22):
Excuse me?
Speaker 4 (26:24):
He got a point, she got a point.
Speaker 2 (26:28):
No, No, Rain is a boy, but no, don't ever
talk to me.
Speaker 4 (26:31):
Like that like, oh, rainy boy. Okay, the young man
got a little point.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
Are you giving her a hickey? E?
Speaker 4 (26:37):
Like, come on, chill out, my kids. My kids do
that too.
Speaker 6 (26:40):
If I'm kissing my wife to be like eh all
the time, jumping between us all the time.
Speaker 4 (26:45):
He kind of got a point. I'm like mad at
the little young man.
Speaker 7 (26:48):
It's the difference between the black kids doing it and
the white kids doing it. They you gotta know how
to say it in the black house, because I wish Ashton.
Speaker 2 (26:58):
Are you giving him a hickey?
Speaker 4 (26:59):
Excuse?
Speaker 7 (27:00):
Okay, but anyway, that's all the stories I got for
right now. But that's just what the mess fast, Uh,
the first hours, all right, thank you, Jess.
Speaker 6 (27:08):
Now when we come back, we got front page news,
and then Ratman will be joining us.
Speaker 4 (27:12):
Of course, he's the creator of Supercell on Netflix. You
don't move. It's to Breakfast Club. Good morning, the breakfast Club.
Your morning's will never be the same morning.
Speaker 6 (27:21):
Everybody is dj Envy, Jess, Hilaria Charlamage the guy. We
are the Breakfast Club. Let's get back in some front
page news. Good morning to Morgan, good morning, good morning.
Speaker 5 (27:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
So we have breaking news that could impact millions.
Speaker 10 (27:33):
Microsoft is reporting widespread outages this morning at airlines, airports, banks,
and media companies.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
Hope that doesn't affect us.
Speaker 10 (27:40):
American airlines, United and Delta are asking the FAA for
a global groundstop on all flights.
Speaker 2 (27:47):
According to an alert from the FAA.
Speaker 10 (27:49):
Computer outages have been reported in many countries across the globe,
including the airport in Berlin, Germany, and the London Stock Exchange,
Google Cloud and Gatwick Airport in London. Now the issue
is reportedly tied to a cybersecurity firm named cloud Strike,
and they say a defect in a content update for
Windows is behind the IT outage that is affecting millions.
(28:11):
And they did confirm that the outage is not a
cyber attack. So this is a developing story and I'll
keep you guys posted on that.
Speaker 4 (28:18):
China, China, China. I'm telling you right now.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
The Republicans been talking spicy about China all week, and
China decided to tap on Joe. This is a little
bit of cyber warfare. I'm it's just a little bit,
just to let them know you need to sim of
that down. Okay, y'all talking week Watch this.
Speaker 10 (28:39):
Fake news okay, new fake news here, okay, and other
news on the other side of the Aisle. Democrats report
says that Barack Obama is telling his allies President Biden
needs to possibly step down. The Washington Post says that
former President Obama has told associates Biden's path the victory
is significantly shrunk and serious, and he needs to seriously
(29:00):
consider the viability of his candidacy. The Post ads that
Obama has been working behind the scenes taking calls from
Democrats who feel anxious about Biden's political future, including one
with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who is said to
be one of Biden's closest allies.
Speaker 4 (29:15):
Now.
Speaker 10 (29:15):
The Post reports that Pelosi has been talking with Biden's
inner circle about low poll numbers, and The New York
Times also reported that Biden has begun to accept the
idea that he may not be able to win the
election in November and may have to drop out.
Speaker 12 (29:28):
Of the race.
Speaker 1 (29:29):
That's the only question that I've been asking for the past.
You answer some change. Is Biden the Biden Harris ticket
a winnable ticket. And if President Obama is saying that
he doesn't believe it is, If Nancy Pelosi is saying
she doesn't believe it is, if Chuck Suoma is saying
he doesn't believe it is, then we should believe them,
because we clearly don't believe our own eyes and is.
We haven't believed our own eyes and years over the
(29:51):
last year and a half. So I'm going to believe them.
And if Biden drops out, I think it will simply
give the parties something it doesn't have right now, and
that's energy.
Speaker 4 (29:59):
It has to he has to drop out.
Speaker 6 (30:00):
I mean, but you think about it like this, The
people that were behind him show that we're not united,
so that we lack trust in him, so he can't.
It's fat It's better that he does it asap now
because now is to the point where his own people
ain't trusting him.
Speaker 1 (30:14):
I don't even think it's a lack of trust people have. Yeah,
I don't even I don't even know if it's a
lack of trust that people have. People have a lack
of trust that he can win. That's what it is.
I don't think anybody has a problem with the job
that he's doing. It's the fact that can he win.
They don't think he can win.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
Well.
Speaker 10 (30:33):
Switching gears a little bit in NFL Hall of Famer
Torell Davis. He's demanding accountability after being removed from a
United Airlines flight in handcuffs in front of his family
last week. According to Davis, six FBI and law enforcement
officials boarded a plane for what the FBI said was
a report of a violent assault. The Denver Broncos legend
was traveling from Denver to California with his wife and children,
(30:57):
and he says he was he simply tapped the flight
tendant on the shoulder after a man failed to acknowledge
his son asking for a cup of ice. Davis and
his wife talked about the incident. Let's hear more from them.
Speaker 13 (31:08):
They come right towards me, and at that point my
mind is like, what the heck is going on? I'm
in shock that this guy is actually putting handcuffs on me.
I was powerless. I couldn't do anything. I would want
to know why, why would.
Speaker 4 (31:21):
You want to ruin a man's life like that?
Speaker 13 (31:24):
And I didn't want him to answer those questions in
front of my children, like look them in the eyes
and tell them why they tried to harm.
Speaker 4 (31:32):
Destroy their dad.
Speaker 8 (31:33):
Unfortunately, because of the beautiful color of your skin, your
experiences in this world are going to be different. And unfortunately,
at thirteen eleven and nine, you've had an experience.
Speaker 10 (31:47):
That'sterrell's wife to me because she said it was the
worst experience of her life. And now they're left trying
to help their kids process what happened to their dad. Now,
a lawyer for Davis says United Airlines has apologized for
the incident, but it's not enough. The United has apologized
to the athlete ell athlete and said it removed the
flight attendant from duty while they closely review this matter.
(32:07):
Of course, Davis is black, and he feels like race
played a part in this role. He says he was
humiliated by the incident.
Speaker 4 (32:14):
I'm sorry him and his family had to go through that.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
Man.
Speaker 10 (32:16):
Let's say his name, Eric Garner. He's being remembered on
the tenth anniversary of his choke hold death at the
hands of a NYPD cop. Garner's mother, Green car Let
a march on Wednesday in Staten Island in honor of
her son. She was joined by Garner's daughter and cousin
in marching to the site where her son was killed
as police were trying to arrest him for selling Lucy's
(32:37):
some cigarettes. Now former officer Daniel Pensaleo was fired, but
he was not charged after authorities said he used a
banned choke hold on Garner. A video of Garner's final moments,
claiming he couldn't Breathe went viral and trigger and triggered
widespread outrage and calls for accountability within the NYPD and
(32:59):
of course uh with police across the nation. So this
is one of those things we got to say. Continue
to say his.
Speaker 4 (33:06):
Name, Eric as R.
Speaker 1 (33:08):
Peter Eric Gana send sending his family positive energy, love
and light always rest in peace to his daughter, you know,
Erica Gana. Just just salute to the whole family. Man,
sending the whole family healing energy always. Ten years well,
ten years go by like that.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
Shut right with God, and look where we are now.
We've grown so much. Right, that's your front page news.
Speaker 10 (33:28):
You can follow me on socials at Morgan Media and
for more news coverage. Continue to follow the Black Information
Network at Black Information Network and bi in news dot com.
Speaker 2 (33:38):
I'd be Friday, y'all.
Speaker 6 (33:41):
Now when we come back, rat Man will be joining us.
He's the creator of Supercell, the series on Netflix, and
we're gonna talk to him next.
Speaker 4 (33:48):
So don't move. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning, the
Breakfast Club, Good morning.
Speaker 6 (33:55):
Everybody is dj NV just hilarious, Charlamagne the God.
Speaker 4 (33:58):
We are the Breakfast Club. We got a special guest
in the building. That's right, you got rap Man. Welcome.
Speaker 12 (34:03):
I appreciate that, big Man.
Speaker 4 (34:05):
Thank you for man.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
Ratman is the creator and director of a Netflix show
that had me in a choke hold during vacation, called Supercell.
From July eighth to July fourteenth, he was the number
one No, you're the most watched show on Netflix's been
two weeks at number one.
Speaker 12 (34:21):
Two weeks not number one?
Speaker 4 (34:23):
Yeah, seven one million views. How I feel, my brother,
I know, I felt.
Speaker 12 (34:26):
It felt humbling, man, it felt good. Ain't gonna lie
to put a big smile on my face.
Speaker 6 (34:31):
Let's startin who is Ratman? Where the rat Men come from?
Because you started off as a rapper. Let's let's go
through the career for people that don't know who rat
Man is.
Speaker 12 (34:38):
All right, Well, I was just just like every other
guy in South London trying to rap them days. Our
UK rap scene was it wasn't where it's now. So
we're trying to sound a lot big, We're trying to
sound lot jay and packs. So we're rapping with the
accent them days. And there was another form of music
called garbage and crime. But I love rap so much.
I was always rapping with the American accents, so I
(34:59):
got the nickname man from a young age. So my
thing is though, I was the type of person that
would love give me the lute on the album and
expect to see the music video to that, but the
video will never come out. I would listen to Jay's
album Inspector here, see the video for a week ago,
and it will never come out. I was like, why
they never do the music video to the story video?
Speaker 4 (35:17):
Every day?
Speaker 12 (35:17):
I like the story. That was my thing, but yeah,
it's never the visual. When I start rapping, I'm going
to do the visuals to them, make them that short films.
So when I started doing music, I started doing these
short films. They were like musically narrated short videos. Man,
just doing it for years for fun for people in
my neighborhood, and it just started growing and growing and
(35:37):
growing into I've done one called Sharyl Story that went
viral all through the UK, landed in my boy James
Samuel's hands. Would then put it in Jay Z's hands,
entire tires hands, and the next thing you know, I'm
meeting jay Z entire time. They saw me to that
nation and they said, what do you want to do
now that you're with us.
Speaker 4 (35:52):
I sell your rag nations as a rapper at the time.
Speaker 12 (35:55):
Now they saw they saw the vision as a filmmaker something.
I'm with them as I'm a filmmaker. So and they
just said, what do you want to do? So I've
got a TV show man. I got idea for a
TV show. The whole pitch it wasn't super so it's
another show. So they took me out to LA and
they pitched. I pitched it everywhere every studio you can
think of, FX, who you Amazon? No one wanted it,
(36:16):
but Netflix said, yeah, we love it. But because they're
sitting in the UK, you got to go back to
the UK and pitch it down there. So I went
back to the UK pitched the show. She didn't want it,
but she says she's a big fan. Let's keep in touch.
That's like that didn't mean that to me. I felt
like okay, I felt it didn't work. So anyway, I've
moved on with my life and I wrote a movie
called Blue Story. I'm really well in the UK. But
before it came out, there was a big marketing campaign
(36:38):
campaign on it. So Netflix said, look, we want to
take you out. I'm like heo, I'm gonna rink this.
I picked the most expensive restaurant I can find and
I went there and I was just eating that free
food man, and in between the food they told me
it was a general So I'm just there eating, but
they kept on asking me questions like what do you
want to do next? And I don't know. I want
to see what the film does. But have you got
any ideas for a show? So I got one idea?
And who was this with Netflix?
Speaker 4 (36:58):
Right now?
Speaker 12 (36:59):
This is Netflix?
Speaker 4 (37:00):
Okay?
Speaker 12 (37:01):
So I gave them some idea and they said that's
all right. I said, we've got anything else? I was like,
this is one of those meetings.
Speaker 15 (37:06):
I thought.
Speaker 12 (37:07):
I just came to eat food and a catch up.
So with the food, the mouth still in my mouth, said, look,
I've got this idea about people from my part of London,
South London, and they get powers. It ain't like your capes,
band decks. These these people are getting for real things.
And they went quiet, and I looked up. It looked
like it's like that there was dollar signs in that
as so that's okay. So he's like that one and
they just want me to develop it from there and
(37:28):
then fast forward four years.
Speaker 1 (37:30):
I don't believe that You're not gonna make me believe
that you sat down with somebody and told them you
wanted to make an all black show which people with
sickle celles superpowers and it's science fiction.
Speaker 12 (37:41):
And they got it. I don't think anyone else would
have made it. I don't think it might have helped
that the head if the UK Netflix does look like
me and you, Okay, okay, that might be that might
have helped. But I think it was such a point
that the UK's never had anything like it, so it
was just like it could really go left, or this
could really work, and I think she was ready to.
Speaker 5 (38:00):
Now.
Speaker 1 (38:00):
I don't want to give too much away from supercell
but I do got a lot of questions because I
really did enjoy this show, you know, you know, it
was so crazy.
Speaker 4 (38:08):
My wife turned it on and like we was a vacation.
So I'm laying in bed.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
My wife goes, oh, look at Cuffy and so I
opened my eyes, big up comfany and I go, oh,
that's Cuffy.
Speaker 4 (38:17):
I said, Coupy's on this show. So that's what That's
what really made me.
Speaker 12 (38:21):
That's good big coffee on that that's notice. Yeah, she
she reached out years ago and that's said she wants
to work with me. And I said, look, she's not
our actress, I'm signing for you.
Speaker 4 (38:30):
And she was.
Speaker 12 (38:31):
She came off the plane from where she was out
of the contentry just to do that. Sim Man.
Speaker 4 (38:34):
You know, it's so funny.
Speaker 1 (38:35):
I text her right and I go yo, I said,
were sitting there, were on vacation, were watching this show.
Speaker 4 (38:40):
I just saw you on it.
Speaker 1 (38:41):
And she texted back and she was like, oh, that's love.
She was like, man, rat Man is amazing. And I'm like,
that's not the name of the show. And so when
the show's over and then it goes Ratman, I'm like, oh, okay,
the show. But where did the concept of super Cell
come from? Because I read in the Hollywood Reporter the
death of George Floyd was an inspiration.
Speaker 8 (39:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (39:00):
So it was twenty twenty when the pandemic just kicked
in and jordge Flair got murdered. Obviously as no and
obviously know how it felt over here, obviously, but that
user weren't alone in that feeling. In the UK and
probably the rest of the world, we just felt like
it's just one step too far now, it's just too much.
And a lot of people like artists and prayers were
gutting into central London to protest. People protest and that
(39:22):
is this the best way I can use what my
platform to make this to uplift black people because it
was just a sad time in London at that time, Like,
and I didn't know how long TV takes. I think,
you know what, if I write this TV show now,
it could probably be out by the end of the
year and no blacks will feel like we're superpower. So
that's when I started writing it. So I started writing it.
Started writing it motivated by Jorycee Flair and then I
(39:43):
wanted a superpower that came from something real, and sickle
Cell to me, was always signed. I never understood that, like,
why is there disease that genuinely puts dark skin tones
in a weak position of weakness? Never, I never understood that.
I said, nah, man, I need to spin this on
his head. Because another thing, you walk into a room
with ten people and if you ask them about sickle Cell,
if more than three people put their hand up, you're
(40:04):
in a great room. Because most people don't know nothing
about it, and that's even our own community. They would
tend that they do, but a lot of people don't
know nothing about it. I said, I can I make
this a thing of power? How can I raise awareness?
And I was thinking, you know, if there's something that
can make us weak, it must be something that can
make us strong. And as a parent, if I was
having to live with sickle cell, that would make me
(40:24):
weak and tired and hurt in pain, but it would
make my kid extraordinary. I'll take that deal.
Speaker 4 (40:28):
Why sickle cell in particular, though I.
Speaker 12 (40:31):
Knew I knew one girl and every time that she
wouldn't come into college, and I was like, why are
you never turning up? Why are you never turning out?
She's like, oh, I got sickle cell. And she was all,
every two weeks she'll be in hospital. And she showed
me like a whole bag of her blood transfusion and
this was like a massive, massive You said, you're taking
this amount of blood every two weeks, And it was
crazy to me. And I ended up going down the
rabbit hole about it, trying to figure out where it
(40:53):
came from. And there's no real answers, but it was
the only factor. Is it predominantly affects darker skin. I
was like, nah, I want to go to give me
as we're gonna have to get people tool kids man.
So it always start in the back of my head.
So soon as I've got the opportunity, I just opened
the door in it.
Speaker 4 (41:08):
You a hip hop head, so it's like, you know
all of us first well, I'm not gonna say first
heard of ciinga Celle, but Prodigy and I'm gonna say
strategy was the first thing.
Speaker 14 (41:15):
That's time.
Speaker 4 (41:16):
Look made me look into it when I heard Prodigy
had it.
Speaker 12 (41:18):
First time I ever heard it was when Pac said,
ain't one of y'all got sickle cell cell. That's the
first time I ever heard the word. And then I
started realizing that t Bus had it.
Speaker 6 (41:28):
All right, We got more with rap Man when we
come back is the creator of super Cell. That's the
series on Netflix. We're gonna talk to them tomorrow when
we come back.
Speaker 4 (41:36):
It's the Breakfast Club.
Speaker 6 (41:36):
Good Morning, but Morning everybody is DJ MV Jess Hilarious,
Charlamage the guy. We are the Breakfast Club. We're still
kicking it with rat Man, the creator of super Cell,
the series on Netflix. And I was watching you on
the Winter's Talking podcast, and and you was talking about
how sometimes, especially when they do films in London, it
doesn't translate to the US, and you really wanted something
(41:57):
to translate to the US.
Speaker 12 (41:58):
Why was that so important to you? It's the biggest
playing field, like it's it's I love the UK. I
must sleep propried London now. But you know you're not
really You can't really fly if you're only doing it
in the smallest stage, you know, and US is the
biggest stage, you know. So I'm thinking if I can
get it to connect outside of the UK and the US,
I can keep on telling stories, you know. And I
(42:20):
didn't water it down so the slang's harsh. I didn't
I didn't try to make it feasible for your airs.
I kind of want to use that to learn the
language that when I used to watch the YR, I
learned their language. So I didn't want to worry down
even though I fit Netflix, thinking that you're going to
get as a hope. So that's why I because it
wasn't I didn't even try to make it appealing to
the States, like I could have given all the gug
(42:40):
members guns all the time, like how it it's not
really like that. Let me just do it exactly how
it is a hole that they learned. So yeah, man,
I feel like I want to fly and I want
to swim in the biggest pun in it.
Speaker 1 (42:51):
That's that's what I love about it, right, because you know,
I want to know your world. I know the street
world over here, the same reason I like that boy. Yeah,
I want to ask you, you know about something like
Top Boy. It was a great show, but it didn't
really get success until later. You think super Cell popped
off so fast. I think Top Boy done well. I
think the reason I think it was just I think
it's because the Top Boy is super Cell done well.
I think by the time you've seen top where you
(43:12):
understand our language a bit more, our dialect, and you know,
you see our artists coming through, artists that central seed.
Speaker 12 (43:19):
I think the culture from the UK starting to seep
in a bit more. It's starting to blend in. So
the time super Cell comes out, you're used to the
voice a bit more of the accent. And I think
it was just timing.
Speaker 5 (43:28):
Man.
Speaker 12 (43:28):
You know, I believe everything's timing in life, and for that,
this was the perfect time.
Speaker 6 (43:32):
I definitely I love the concept. So you basically came
up with the concept eating, So it wasn't something that
you pre thought.
Speaker 12 (43:37):
This was like you just eating. Weren't that deep? Before
before that conversation with Netflix, I was doing promotion from
my movie and one of the cast members asked me
on camera, were you're gonna do next? You're just gonna
keep on doing the hood stuff. I said, yeah, maybe,
but I want to flip on this head and about
people with powers. And that's the first time I ever
(43:58):
spoke it, but I had no concept of what it
would be. So it's stuck in my head. So when
Netflix asked me like a month later, it was just
still there and I just gave to them what I
said to them, and they they actually could make it.
Someone asking me who's your friends, like you's asking me, Now,
that's dope, but someone who actually does that for the
living presses the Green Bottom and TV show asked me.
I was probably a bit more eloquent with how I
was delivering it, and it just sold the man.
Speaker 6 (44:19):
The dope thing about it is the investment that they
put right, because it's not like a movie that that Okay,
you just film in London and go. You got special effects,
you got people doing their own stunts and you got
greet Is talk about some of that because I've seen
some of that behind the scenes.
Speaker 4 (44:35):
For of all the stuff that it took to make
the movie and it make the flick.
Speaker 1 (44:38):
Yeah, you know what.
Speaker 12 (44:39):
And for London that was a big budget show, like
it's not. Don't get to they ain't no Game of
Thrones budget, but for the UK, they don't normally put
that type of money in show, especially when the cast
looks like that. So that's what I got to do
with it is a black cast exactly what I'm in.
So what I'm saying, so I think I remember saying
to them, if I'm going to do this, you have
to let me do it right. Let me just swing
as high as I came with this, as hard as
(44:59):
I can, and let me just try with it. Don't
give me the half body and it gives me enough
I can least do it. And I think she when
she made the decision to do it, she does agreed.
She said, cool, whatever it is, do what you want
to do with it. Let's just see what happens.
Speaker 1 (45:11):
Yeah, don't want to do spoilers. But when I think
about Michael and how he kept trying to change the future.
Do you believe that your fate has already said I
don't want get to money. But do you believe your
fate is already said.
Speaker 12 (45:20):
Yeah, And if you've seen it to the end and
you've seen how it ends, And that's the reason why
I feel like it ends like that. I feel like,
no matter what you might be able to, I don't
say too much, but I do believe that. Yeah, to
ask your question to make with that spur, and the
answer is yes, I do believe that what's meant to
be will be. But I still feel like you have
to push for the direction you want to go. Like
I believe one day I'll be sitting here with people
(45:43):
like yourself and doing what I'm doing with Netflix. But
it wouldn't have been if I decided just to hang
on the block with my people and not stay in
to write and not go here to learn. So I
feel like you have to go seventy percent of the way.
I believe in hold you said the end. Now, you
gotta have these seasons mapped out, right, I can't. I've
got I've got free season story in my head. Okay, yes,
(46:04):
I've got three season story in the head, not saying
it can't go further, but I've got three seasons where
I know where it goes.
Speaker 1 (46:09):
Because I need to know why this is happening. Why
are these people getting snatched up. I'm trying not to
give it away.
Speaker 4 (46:15):
I'm just trying to figure out what's.
Speaker 12 (46:17):
The overall goal. If Netflix, if Netflix pressed the button
on it, I will promise you all your questions will
be answered.
Speaker 6 (46:23):
The one time there was a conversation about British actors
taking over the US and some of the US actors
were upset. You just some of the actors, So what
is your thoughts on that and would you use American
actors one hundred percent.
Speaker 12 (46:36):
I would use American actors if they fit the wrong
I don't think people should be mad at the youth.
We grew up with nothing on TV screens except for
American accent TV shows and movie so all we took
in was your accent. That's why we can do it.
So when we get these roles and they study acting
a lot in the UK, I don't say they're not
doing the US, but it's a big thing in the
UK to go to drama school, like you have to
do your three years and then your masters. So the
(46:57):
actors can come over like Idris and Damn Sir and
all these other actors can come over and do this
because they can. But Bro, I was chating to someone
the other day. She was doing an American girl. She
was doing the UK accent, justin watching Top Boy in Supersar,
so I was I was saying, ten years from now,
maybe five, they're gonna be coming to steal our jobs.
You know, we're just a bit ahead because we've had
(47:19):
you on our screen for longer. Give it ten year,
every more years, ten more seasons of Super Sol. You're
gonna be a people coming to take hard jobs.
Speaker 1 (47:25):
Man.
Speaker 4 (47:25):
I go from but that's my eleven year old's thing.
My eleven year old for the learning accent.
Speaker 6 (47:30):
And every time she orders something from Uber eat, so
somebody picks up she uses that accent and she thinks
she from London, like her name is London, which is And.
Speaker 12 (47:38):
I think they're starting, it's starting to happen. So you're
doing it first of award as a joke, but imagine
if you actually are your little one wants to act.
If your little one comes in and can kill the accent,
and I'm giving her the role. I don't care if
she lives over here, well she is over there. I
want the best person for this role, so it's gonna happen.
Speaker 4 (47:54):
You know, another connection.
Speaker 1 (47:55):
People don't usually make the connection at least I see
between London and like Nigeria.
Speaker 12 (48:01):
This big, a massive I'm Nigeria. A lot of it
is like for my parents the minute over there when
your better life is in the UK. So you had
a lot of people go to America, but a lot
of Nigerians live in London, you know so, And it's
just because my mom and dad would just tell me that.
You know that, my grandparents will tell them. If you
get well, go to London and you can have a
better life for your family. So in the in the UK, Caribbean,
(48:24):
African that's where predominantly most of the way of the
blacks off frum.
Speaker 4 (48:28):
What's the better storytelling outlet for you? Music and TV TV?
Speaker 12 (48:32):
And I'll tell you why other than the fact that
you know, rapping is such a super skill and I
feel like I was okay, but I wasn't jay Z
or Biggie. And it's I don't even think you have
to be there normal. You just needed you just need
a flipping a gimmick or hook or an angle. But
the thing we can do with TV and film, I've
(48:52):
got a bigger platform. I've got a bigger canvas to paint.
Like when I was trying to do a song in
five minutes, it was just like, I've got so much
more I want to say about the story or the
cars are when I get a convias not filming TV,
I can stretch you out, make you feel emotion, get
you connected.
Speaker 2 (49:07):
To the cars.
Speaker 12 (49:08):
And so for me, I'm well, I meant to be mine.
I'm happy here, And I was just wanting to keep
them paying these big convasation.
Speaker 4 (49:13):
All right, well move, we got more of a rat
Man when we come back. It's the Breakfast Club. Good
morning Morning. Everybody's DJ Envy Jesse, Larry Charlamage the guy.
We are the Breakfast Club.
Speaker 6 (49:22):
We're still kicking it with the creator of Supercell Ratman, Charlomagne.
Speaker 1 (49:25):
Another thing about this show, and I know there's probably
some symbolism and this, all of the main characters superpowers,
they come out when they seem like they're under extreme
stress or when they're all near each other. Yes, So
the thing I get from that is black people we
definitely perform well under pressure. We look the best out
of the worst situations, and unity and group operation I
(49:46):
think brings out the best in us as well.
Speaker 12 (49:48):
I agree with that, and my main thing was literally
with the pressure thing. I feel that we only ever
do become our best version when we get to that
peak where we think, but it's that line, it's how
you're gonna fall on the up. But if you over,
that's when the greatness comes. And I think that's why
when it's kind of single swimming or fight or flight
what they say, that's when it comes out. That's why
if you see everyone in theirs when they when they're
(50:09):
at their last string again, boom, that's when it happens.
Speaker 4 (50:12):
I was gonna say, you want to ask you stuff them?
I'm like, am I gonna give it away?
Speaker 12 (50:16):
But you know what, it's been three four weeks in.
Speaker 4 (50:20):
People more and more now I haven't seen the whole thing,
so people are hearing more. Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 12 (50:25):
It's true.
Speaker 9 (50:25):
It's true.
Speaker 6 (50:26):
When I heard somebody else was like, yo, you gotta
watch it, I'm like, I watch it. Some of the
international movies. I'm like, am I gonna be cool with
the accident? First and like now you can get it,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 12 (50:34):
No, that's fair enough, that's fair enough, and it's true
we do want it to carry on a good thing.
With the shows like this, there's like a nighty day
window to get into the top view of all time.
Speaker 4 (50:42):
Now.
Speaker 12 (50:42):
I don't know if we're heading for that or not,
because it's you know, you need to get black ninety
million views. We're on like twenty five, which is crazy
for a UK show, But basically they Netflix do you
money all for three four months, so it's not like
it's not like a music release an album and you've
got the first opening week to really decide if it's
a hit or not. It'll works like that, so I
don't want to spoil too much, but enough to get
(51:03):
people to want to watch.
Speaker 1 (51:03):
There's people with the super cell collecting other people with
the super cell, right, yes, but they're collecting them on
behalf of white people.
Speaker 12 (51:13):
Yep, I knew that you could. It's funny. I saw
big up Vince Staple, I never I don't met him
but I never met him, but I saw him tweet Yo.
Those supercoons had me shocked. That was crazy. I laugh
about lot. I can't believe it. But you know what,
I literally was laughing that line when I saw that tweet.
But the thing with that, it's funny because I've only
ever been asked about this one of an interview. We
(51:35):
are the talent, we are the culture, we are the heart,
We bring the energy, we bring the vibe. But do
we not dance for the people for the other side?
And it's just you can't escape it. I don't know
if it's because where we are based we are not
the majority, but where we are and where we are
shining no matter how great we are, Like I don't
want to start blowing uping cup, but you really do
(51:56):
these there on this place, these are own you know
what I'm saying? Like you you want, I think of this,
I think of you guys. You have the power, But
I don't know how much power you got, But I'm
assuming there's always someone on top who you can't do
that or envy. That's a bit much money in fourteen years,
then you're g A lot of people ain't got there.
Speaker 4 (52:14):
We have, We've been lucky.
Speaker 12 (52:14):
We haven't how much other people do you know who
is just as famous and such as you, who are
still off up.
Speaker 1 (52:21):
And and I've carved out my own entity here called
the Black Effect Podcast Network.
Speaker 12 (52:26):
Let me come on that and we can really up.
Speaker 1 (52:29):
I would love to do a super cell podcast, bro,
like when you're breaking like you're breaking down each episode
for people.
Speaker 4 (52:36):
I would love that.
Speaker 12 (52:37):
When you're already bro, we can really go off on
that lap that's done. Yeah, yeah, let's do that.
Speaker 4 (52:41):
Let's do that.
Speaker 9 (52:42):
Let's do that.
Speaker 4 (52:43):
Let's do that, Let's do that, Let's do that.
Speaker 5 (52:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (52:46):
Now, congratulations, you got one hundred percent critics score on
Rotten Tomatoes.
Speaker 4 (52:49):
That easy. That which is not easy.
Speaker 6 (52:52):
We just seen with Tyler Perry didn't didn't do as well.
So the fact that you got one hundred percent is great.
But I was going to ask it took four years
to do this one, so when season two, it's gonna
be another four years.
Speaker 12 (53:02):
Nah, And it won't because a lot of that is
breaking the world, getting the characters right, because the world
is you know the world, you know the characters. It
won't take as long. How long it will take it
just the preends and how soon they press the button.
They won't take as well.
Speaker 4 (53:15):
Don't take us long.
Speaker 1 (53:16):
This is so ill though, because I thought I was
gonna talk to you, and you was gonna tell me
like your mother, your grandmother or somebody you know, just
the fact that you care about it because it impacts
so many black people.
Speaker 12 (53:26):
Bro, How can there be something that only affects you
because of your black Bros's not crazy that It's like,
I feel like we need to ask more questions now.
Why is no one asking where did this come from?
Why is no one asking why?
Speaker 5 (53:36):
Bro?
Speaker 12 (53:37):
Skinny skin don't get the culture comes with how you're raised,
But how dark your skin is and how light your
skin is shouldn't make a difference to a disease.
Speaker 1 (53:45):
I guess I've never done the knowledge to it to
even know that. I never even darkness Single cell was
just a disease.
Speaker 12 (53:51):
They say it predominantly affects black and there is some
other races, but I personally have never met someone that's
not black with it. So, but I never under stood it.
So I'm hoping now the conversation is out there, maybe
people might do some proper research and they find out
what the answer is.
Speaker 4 (54:07):
More, how can we bring more awareness to the disease?
Speaker 12 (54:10):
You think with what you're doing right now, is already
doing it. Their Sickle cell Convention is pretty often. I
think just mention it like that the thing everyone does
talk about. I have a conversation, maybe get someone who's
living with it on the show. There's a lot of
people in Power or either whatever if who are living
with this.
Speaker 4 (54:26):
We've definitely had a prodigy anty bottle on over the year.
Speaker 12 (54:29):
The conversation just don't happen enough. Like it's funny that
episode of Power came out and they mentioned it this
week and I thought that's weird, right close to super
so the conversation and stick youselves out on two proper shows.
But normally no one talks about it. Man, Like when
I was doing this show in the UK, all of
their execs have to do the research minus my main
exect whose brothers got it, but everybody else they have
to do the research. No one knew what they was making,
(54:50):
you know, So I've just didn't keep the conversation. Guy,
man like you blood drives. It's like someone like you
use yourself turned up to blood Droves. That would be crazy,
you know, that's shinning like man, I have.
Speaker 1 (55:00):
A few questions, but like one question I had for
you is you said that the execu Netflix knew you
in the UK so what level of rapper were you
in the UK?
Speaker 4 (55:09):
Like, who was comparable to you?
Speaker 12 (55:12):
Okay, I wasn't known because I was like, okay, the
biggest rapper in the UK rat nice, But potentially at
that time it wasn't wasn't in Chrstalver. It was probably
storm Zy Gigs Love.
Speaker 4 (55:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 12 (55:26):
So but shyyl Story, what I thought it was this
particular project that was massive. It was the biggest thing
in the UK for years. And this is not sounding
like I'm glowing. It was just it had the whole
world in the UK in a chokehol because everyone's waiting
for the next part because I was releasing parts like
every other month, so everybody was waiting. So, because this
(55:48):
is a quick example before I get pulled out, there
was a show called The Bodyguard that was on BBC.
It came on Netflix after a while, but it was
massive in the UK and it was BBC's biggest show
for years, and it was like there finale. Okay, so
that finale was trending on Twitter in the UK, but
I didn't know about Bodyguard. So I released my final
part of Shadow Story the same day we trended above that.
So all the breakfast shows, the daytime shows. The next
(56:10):
day was like, so you was probably watching this and
it was a clip of The Bodyguard or Whack Past
good show, great show, but your kids were watching this
and it was a clip of Shadow Story that had
every single network in the UK, Netflix, everyone like, who
is this guy who can do something off their own
that no money? Put it on YouTube and trend above
the biggest show that the UK's got. It opened every door. Bro,
(56:32):
It's like a blessing that thing there because it fell
into so much people's hands, which and then that's how
I was massive. So could a shower Story that was
before Shoo Story. I hardly nobody knew me come a
shadow Story. I was probably one of the hottest in
the UK. So if in the UK I could have
been maybe.
Speaker 8 (56:48):
That wole.
Speaker 12 (56:49):
I mean, I could have been call at that time,
I could have been calling that time three, at that time,
at that time. Okay, at that time, I was at
that I'm not going to see and saying I was.
But for that moment where Showerster was out, everyone everyone,
so the older other rappers was reaching out. Everybody reached out.
(57:09):
It was just a big deal, man, It was just
a big deal.
Speaker 4 (57:11):
At the time. Congratulations and everything.
Speaker 1 (57:12):
Man, go watch super Cell and uh, you know, get
prepared for the super Cell podcast on the Black Effect
Podcast Network, hosted by rat Man.
Speaker 12 (57:20):
Big I can bring someone more costing as well. That's
what I'm talking about, my cost man. They want to
roll up, so that would be dope.
Speaker 4 (57:28):
Those podcasts like that are big over here.
Speaker 12 (57:30):
Like I am anything to push the narrative. As I said,
I'm fans of you guys, and what user of achieved
with this. This was like an outlet for the black
culture across the world because there's so many other things now,
but we've been seeing this for the decades.
Speaker 4 (57:46):
Yeah we don't.
Speaker 12 (57:47):
We know that this is the way it began, so bro,
anything can need to be apart of it. I'm honest,
mom it you have it.
Speaker 6 (57:52):
It's rat May. We appreciate you for joining us. It's
the breakfast Club. Good morning, good morning. Everybody is cj
uv jes hilarious schelling me and the guy.
Speaker 4 (58:00):
We are the breakfast Club on this Friday.
Speaker 1 (58:02):
What's happening? Man Sloop the rat Man for pulling up.
Make sure y'all go watch super Cell on Netflix right now.
It was the number one rated show on Netflix, number
one viewed show on Netflix for like two weeks.
Speaker 4 (58:13):
Very good show man, that's right, And let's get to
Jest with the mess a few ness.
Speaker 7 (58:17):
Well weapons hers, Jeff car Robbin Moore, just don't do
no lines, don't do.
Speaker 2 (58:24):
Nobody talk the.
Speaker 4 (58:26):
World why jes worldwise on the Breakfast Club, she's the
coaches Ship.
Speaker 6 (58:32):
She was able to get y'all to see something and
understand something that nobody.
Speaker 12 (58:37):
Could get you to see this time to set it off.
Speaker 2 (58:41):
Okay, so Meg unbothered by Tory fans.
Speaker 7 (58:44):
So video service of Magda Stallion leaving an establishment and
the people outside can be heard shouting at her while
she was walking with one of her friends or somebody
from her entourage.
Speaker 2 (58:59):
Tory nine. She did, I know, very very corny.
Speaker 7 (59:07):
It was like, so that's the only audio that was
like actually clear, but it was like random people shouting
it out to her and everything, and she she didn't
really seem to bothered by it, but she never directly
acknowledged any of the people that screen toy. She just
kind of made a face, like like a gag face,
like uh, whatever, you know, why would you be.
Speaker 4 (59:25):
Yelling at Megan? Megan wants Tory in jail.
Speaker 1 (59:28):
You should go down to the prison, go down to
the prison that Tori in and stand out there and
screen free Toy Go protests out there.
Speaker 7 (59:33):
Remember remember in his she said write them a letter
or something. She's scheduled visit, schedule a conjugal visit.
Speaker 2 (59:41):
That was one of the funniest lines from his.
Speaker 7 (59:44):
The only visible visible reaction she had was putting her
hand to our mouth, like I said, acting like she
was throwing up because she was so disgusted. I would
get disgusted by having somebody name that shot me to.
Meg's Foundation helps elderly in better news for her Magde Stallions,

Speaker 14 (01:01:23):
Brodt my baby. I'm not gonna get telling you bro
pull over.
Speaker 7 (01:01:37):
Yeah, that was extremely said. He was one of the
three suspects in an armed robbery in Beverly Hills. He
was later identified as twenty one year old Diane Henderson
or Diane. I'm not sure how she pronounced this young
man's name, but as you heard, she continuously begged him
to pull over. Eventually, he did pull over on the
dead and he hugged the girl and his baby kissed
(01:01:57):
her and got on his knee to surrender. The cops
put my handcuffs, took him, the girlfriend and the baby away.
Speaker 4 (01:02:05):
Handcuffs. No, they ain't putt no baby in handcuffs. Man,
this guy's.
Speaker 6 (01:02:09):
Crazy with the way you said it. Baby, I'm like,
what baby, you'll get out of here?
Speaker 11 (01:02:16):
Yo.
Speaker 2 (01:02:16):
No, they just took all of them away.
Speaker 7 (01:02:19):
They were arrested, but it wasn't reported if the girlfriend
was charged with anything. That they did not say, And
they didn't say where the baby was taken.
Speaker 3 (01:02:26):
Yo.
Speaker 2 (01:02:26):
But the baby wasn't cuffed.
Speaker 4 (01:02:28):
Just ladies, y'all gott to stop letting just any old
person shoot, y'all. Club up.
Speaker 1 (01:02:31):
Man, you got to know who you pro creating with
before you, you know, sit down and pro create with people.
Speaker 4 (01:02:37):
Sound to procreate with people?
Speaker 6 (01:02:39):
It sounds like she didn't know. It sounds like she
had no idea. And when do we get to the
place where we were on a police chase and we livestream?
Speaker 1 (01:02:45):
Oh man, you understand we were born in nineteen hundred
and seventy eight, so he looked like a young man.
Speaker 4 (01:02:50):
You know from a little clipt that I saw was
twenty one twenty one.
Speaker 1 (01:02:55):
That's literally a part of their existence, like that's a
part of their life, Like they don't know how to
do anything without them going live.
Speaker 6 (01:03:03):
But how can you hit away if you're on live
and you're trying to get away but you're on live stream.
And the cops were like, he just made a left
on Charles Street. Oh he just made it right on
Walker Street, Like it's stupid.
Speaker 7 (01:03:11):
But he kept saying he was gonna die his the
live was long. He kept saying, like, I know I'm
gonna die. So he was taping it the same. The
first time I seen somebody down live like one of
the little young guys they know. It was one guy
last year in Baltimore. Actually he was live streaming. The
cops was raady coming in and raid his house and
they was going to kill him on site. And that's
(01:03:34):
exactly what happened.
Speaker 4 (01:03:35):
To have some empathy for your baby, mom and your child, yep,
like damn.
Speaker 7 (01:03:40):
Yeah, And she was begging to get out. But he
kept on saying, I love y'all, but if I stopped here,
gonna kill me.
Speaker 4 (01:03:46):
I hate your baby in the car.
Speaker 2 (01:03:48):
But they they did stop, like.
Speaker 4 (01:03:49):
I said, But I mean, what if they were telling
the baby put their hands up shut up.
Speaker 7 (01:03:55):
So for the last story, he just twenty five greatest
arm be artists of all time. So Forbes released their
list of the twenty five greatest R and B artists
of all time, and I'm just going to name a few.
First Erica by dou tewod DiAngelo three, Mary J Blige four,
saw A five, Scissor six, Frank Ocean seven, Elia eight Usher,
(01:04:19):
nine TolC and ten Mariah Carey.
Speaker 4 (01:04:21):
Now is this in order or is this just twenty
five R? I know they got him in order, not order.
They bugging. I saw this yesterday, right go ahead?
Speaker 2 (01:04:30):
Jee eleven, Jill Scott twelve Jill is too low?
Speaker 8 (01:04:35):
Yo?
Speaker 4 (01:04:36):
What el teen is thirteen Jill supposed to be?
Speaker 1 (01:04:39):
I mean in my generation. I'm only speaking for me
because the R and B is too deep. I don't
even know how you can sit down and try to
do a top twenty five R and B list. It's
too deep, too many decades. But if you talk about
from my personal taste, I got Jail top three, it's Erica,
Jill and Mary J.
Speaker 4 (01:04:55):
Blige for me. There you go, That's what I was saying.
I got Usher, then yeah, they do.
Speaker 2 (01:04:59):
He number eight, he's after Scissor and Frank Ocean.
Speaker 4 (01:05:03):
But where is Marvin Gay?
Speaker 1 (01:05:05):
Where is Stevie Wonder, Where is Patty LaBelle Wared Isley Brothers.
Speaker 4 (01:05:09):
That's what I'm saying, like that, you can't.
Speaker 12 (01:05:11):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:05:12):
I don't even know why somebody would even sit down
in attempt to try to make a top twenty five
R and B list.
Speaker 4 (01:05:17):
It's too much.
Speaker 2 (01:05:19):
These are this is jokes.
Speaker 7 (01:05:20):
Anita Baker's number fourteen, John Legend whom My Love is
number fifteen in Vogue sixteen, Aaron Neville seventeen, swvs eighteen,
dang well, Donnie Hatti teena turn to R and.
Speaker 4 (01:05:33):
B Yeah nineteen, Yeah she's yeah, But what about new addition,
a new edition on that list? What about Jody on
that list?
Speaker 1 (01:05:42):
They got Frank Ocean at number six? Get come on, man,
cut it out, y'all gotta cut it out like Kno
getting off. And I don't think Marvin Gay is on
this list. That also, if you ain't got Marvin Gay
on the on the top R and B list and
you just bugging who does these lists?
Speaker 4 (01:05:56):
I have no idea.
Speaker 1 (01:05:57):
I'm not mad at number one though, because from my
own personal taste, though me that's that's my personal tastebo
Eric about do Jill Scott, Marry J.
Speaker 4 (01:06:06):
Blige, that's my mind. But I'm born in nineteen hundred
and seventy eight.
Speaker 2 (01:06:09):
The Angelo too.
Speaker 4 (01:06:10):
I do like that number one. I know number two
and be artist of all that before Mary J. Blige.
Speaker 2 (01:06:16):
Yeah, no, no, no, no, he's right after, he's right
before Murray married.
Speaker 4 (01:06:20):
Number three.
Speaker 2 (01:06:20):
That's crazy. Yeah, they got they got fluatry on here.
Number twenty two.
Speaker 4 (01:06:25):
I'm gonna be honest, man, it's this kind of trash,
kind of trash, and it's not because of who's on it.
It's just that R and B is just too deep.
Speaker 1 (01:06:35):
I don't even know how you could even sit down
and begin to do a top twenty five R and B.
I know there's trash because of who's on it and
who's not on it, absolutely positively absolutely, And you would
have to have like seventy year old eighty year old
people in the room along with some you know, you'd
have twenty somethings, like every demographic would have to be
represented to put together a proper list, and you still
(01:06:56):
wouldn't get it right.
Speaker 2 (01:06:58):
Instead of all time, So.
Speaker 4 (01:07:01):
It ain't no Marvin Gaye on here, just got number eleven.
Speaker 2 (01:07:05):
They got al green, but no Marvin it out cut
it out.
Speaker 1 (01:07:09):
Well, that's just with the mess, all right, we'll dropping
the clues bonds Peraco Badu though, Yeah, okay, all right,
I'm never gonna dispute that at number one.
Speaker 4 (01:07:18):
All right, Well, Charlumann, who you give me a donkey too? Man?
Speaker 1 (01:07:21):
For after the hour, we got another dummy who decided
to post something on social media to help the police.
Speaker 4 (01:07:27):
Okay, his name is Hassan something. He needs to come
to the front of the congregation.
Speaker 6 (01:07:30):
We like to have a word with him, all right,
all right, we'll get to that next and then Angela
Simmons will be joining us.
Speaker 4 (01:07:35):
You got some Mary, thank you. Let's play some Mary
right now. It's the breakfast cloak. Come on, let's go.
You're checking out the breakfast club. Damn, but he hogged.
It's time for donkey, I mean, trying to beat donkey today.
Speaker 1 (01:07:51):
No more.
Speaker 4 (01:07:51):
They should be embarrassed by what they already did. I'm
not making these people do these things called donkey of
the day. And it really caught me off guard.
Speaker 2 (01:07:58):
Damn, Charlamagne, he's out the donkey.
Speaker 4 (01:08:01):
Out to day today.
Speaker 1 (01:08:03):
Wow, old donkey here today for Friday, July nineteenth, goes
to Hassan Flew. He is a North Carolina man who
has helped put himself in prison. What do you mean,
Uncle Charlotte helped put himself in prison? Well, let me
tell you this. Twenty three year old Charlotte, North Carolina
man committed two armed robberies in twenty twenty three. He
robbed the Sam's Mark in Charlotte. He had the lower
(01:08:24):
part of his face concealed by a red bandana. He's
clearly watched too many movies and rap videos, and of
course he was armed with a pistol. Then when he
entered the Sam's Mark, he put the pistol to the
employee and told a shut up, I'll shoot you. He
also told the employee that he just got out of prison.
I don't need your backstory, sir, okay, And you telling
me that you just got out of prison does nothing
(01:08:46):
to make this situation any less traumatic for me. And
if you tell me that you just got out of
prison while you robbing me, in my mind, I'm thinking, well,
I can't wait for you to go back.
Speaker 4 (01:08:55):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (01:08:56):
He got all the money out the register, probably one
hundred and seventy three dollars and then he bound. So
the next month he was back at it. This time
he hit a seven to eleven. Okay, he wore the
same red bandana. You didn't even switch it up.
Speaker 4 (01:09:08):
Okay, didn't even switch it up, same red bandana, same outfit.
Speaker 1 (01:09:12):
Might be a blood. Okay, he might be a blood
and not allowed to wear any other color. I don't know,
because there's no way you're repeating outfits to commit robberies.
Speaker 4 (01:09:20):
That's just lazy.
Speaker 1 (01:09:21):
I can understand if it's a robbery in the same day,
but this robbery was a month later, so he had
the same part of his face covered and the same
pistol he used.
Speaker 4 (01:09:28):
In the previous robbery.
Speaker 1 (01:09:29):
Once again, he told the employee of seven eleven to
give him the money out the register, but the employees
fight of flight instincts kicked in and they flew. Okay,
that employee ran right out the back door after seeing
the gun. Dropping the clues. Boond to that employee. I'm
not mad at him, okay, cause you just never know.
So now, Hassan stuck, all right, he's stuck. So he
(01:09:51):
goes behind the counter and tries to open the register himself.
His big dumb ass didn't know how to open the register.
So when he couldn't get the money out the register,
he just he took the employees purse. Okay, Yes, the
employee who ran out the back door, she left her
purse behind, so he just took that.
Speaker 4 (01:10:08):
Boy, what makes you think she got any money?
Speaker 1 (01:10:10):
Okay, you could have left her purse right there, she
working at the seven eleven, you trying to rob It's
only eighty three dollars in the register and probably thirteen
in her purse, twenty three at the most. So you
just running around Charlotte, wasting time when you could be
using that energy to go look for a damn job. Okay,
you a twenty three year old, able bodied man who
just got got out of prison. There's plenty of black
(01:10:32):
jobs you could find. And furthermore, I have a serious question,
how come you individuals like Hassan just don't become police officers,
become detectives private investigators, because clearly you like putting away criminals.
And I appreciate self aware people, and they are nothing
more self aware than knowing you have indeed committed a crime, okay,
(01:10:53):
and want to be caught that's the only explanation for
situations like this. You must have wanted to turn yourself in,
and the FBI and divisions of law enforcement thank you
for your service and for making their jobs easier because
police were able to find Hassan Flow a week later
after he showed himself on social media holding the same
(01:11:13):
pistol wearing the same red bandana he used in the
robbery and attempted robbery.
Speaker 4 (01:11:19):
You can't make this kind of stuff up.
Speaker 1 (01:11:20):
When police arrested him, they found the same gun that
he used in the robbery. Cops don't even have investigators
anymore because y'all do the work for them. Okay, imagine
if at the end of power to reput up a
post like just took my dad out, he goes for real. Now,
in today's world, regular internet trolls on Hollywood Unlocked can
(01:11:42):
find your location just by looking at.
Speaker 4 (01:11:44):
The trees in the background.
Speaker 1 (01:11:46):
So why would you think trained professional law enforce law
enforcement officials cannot They didn't watch the surveillance video of
all of these robberies, these two attempted robberies, and then
you're going to post on social media with the same outfit,
same and Danna in same gun.
Speaker 4 (01:12:01):
You think they're not gonna be like, that's the guy.
Speaker 9 (01:12:04):
You know.
Speaker 1 (01:12:05):
If he would have robbed these stores and got some
real money out of them, he'd have been online flashing
that cash. Since he didn't get no real money, he
decided to go online and show off his robbery outfit
and the accessory gun that comes with it. He wanted
to be Angela Simmons so bad, showing off your little
pistol like it's a purse. Now, you're not coming home
until you thirty six, because yes, Hassan will send us
(01:12:26):
to one hundred and seventeen months over nine years in prison,
nine years of your life gone because you want to
rob convenience stores, I promise you, Okay, all the time
and gas money. Hassan wasted going to rob Sam's and
seven eleven. He could have easily walked in Sam's mart
and seven eleven and filled out a job application. Okay,
there's another timeline where instead of you getting dressed wearing
(01:12:48):
the same outfit to go rob these places, you got
dressed in with the same outfit to go try to
get a job at these places.
Speaker 4 (01:12:54):
But no, you opted to commit a crime.
Speaker 1 (01:12:58):
Didn't get online and tell the world, you did said crime,
and now you got to go to prison where you
might get some bananas putting your fruit salad. This not
even dry snitching anymore. This snitching is soaking wet. And
to be wearing the same outfit and the picture that
you wore during the robbery. Do you understand there are
people that won't post the picture of themselves because they
were already seen wearing that outfit outfit before. I repeat
(01:13:21):
clothes all the time, and personally, if it's a shirt
or a fit I want to promote, I'll keep wearing
it until my dumb ass remembers to take a picture
in it.
Speaker 4 (01:13:30):
Maybe Hassan felt the same way.
Speaker 1 (01:13:31):
The only difference between myself and the san is that
Hassan repeating outfits like he's a Simpson while he committed crimes,
has his ass in prison. Please give Hassan flow the
sweet sounds of the Hamiltons.
Speaker 4 (01:13:43):
Oh no, you are of the day, dog gee all
the day.
Speaker 1 (01:13:57):
Ye, he got a boyfriend in prison. That's that's really
the only logical explanation. He had to get back to Bay.
Speaker 4 (01:14:06):
He had to get back.
Speaker 1 (01:14:07):
Yeah, he had to get back to Bey. That's why
somebody he's missing somebody. That's the only explanation. That's why
he posted the picture of him in the same outfits,
just to let bey know I'm coming home now.
Speaker 2 (01:14:18):
He wanted to be Angela Simmons, so big, yo, you're
a clown.
Speaker 4 (01:14:23):
Well, thank you for that.
Speaker 6 (01:14:24):
Don get a day and up next is Angela Simmons.
That's right, and we're gonna kick it with her next.
Speaker 4 (01:14:28):
It don't move. It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning, the
Breakfast Club. Everybody, stej Envy, Jesse, Larry Charlamage the guy.
Speaker 6 (01:14:39):
We are the Breakfast Club. You got a special guest
in the building. We have Angela Simmons.
Speaker 4 (01:14:43):
Welcome. Thank you, big entrepreneur, energy entrepreneur. You're always doing something.
Speaker 1 (01:14:48):
I mean it was Paystreet back in the day, shoe sneaker, shoes, sneakers.
Now you got clothing line, funnel cake, mixed oreos with slutty.
Speaker 15 (01:14:56):
Veganan cakes, waffles. It does it all.
Speaker 6 (01:14:58):
Damn there they were mad you by laying in the
better Oreoles and the tuble orioles.
Speaker 4 (01:15:02):
Though why, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:15:04):
I have was my I thought it was nice.
Speaker 5 (01:15:06):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (01:15:07):
The internet is just weird.
Speaker 4 (01:15:09):
It's a weird place. It's oreoles, First of all, how
are you?
Speaker 15 (01:15:12):
I'm great? How are you?
Speaker 1 (01:15:12):
I have blessed black and Holly Pavid. The only person
that should have been mad was your daddy, though. Did
you get upset because you stole this whole top floor?
Speaker 15 (01:15:21):
My dad is my biggest supporter.
Speaker 4 (01:15:22):
But you you brought some oreos. The reason I'm jumping
right into it because they're still warm right now.
Speaker 15 (01:15:26):
You gotta try it right, okay?
Speaker 1 (01:15:27):
Tell me about these first of all, now, because they're
they're they're plant based orioles.
Speaker 15 (01:15:30):
How so orioles are vegan, and we have a mix
that's vegan, and that's our batter. So there you go.
Speaker 4 (01:15:37):
How the oo? Since when an orioles vegan? Freak it down?
Speaker 15 (01:15:40):
The oreo's always been vegan?
Speaker 4 (01:15:41):
Really yeah? But don't they have cream?
Speaker 9 (01:15:44):
Give you?
Speaker 15 (01:15:44):
The cream is vegan? The whole thing is vegan.
Speaker 4 (01:15:46):
I never knew that.
Speaker 15 (01:15:47):
Yes, I learned that when I became vegan.
Speaker 2 (01:15:49):
I was like, oh cool, okay, so you are actually vegan?
Speaker 8 (01:15:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:15:53):
How long vegan?
Speaker 15 (01:15:54):
Why was vegetarian?
Speaker 2 (01:15:55):
First?
Speaker 15 (01:15:56):
Vegan? So had to be over fifteen sixteen years long?
Speaker 4 (01:16:00):
And what got you into being a vegetarian and vegan?
Speaker 15 (01:16:02):
My uncle started a long time ago when I was
really really young, showed me some videos of some animals
and I was like, I had to be like twelve,
I want to say. And then I was like, I'm
not gonna eat no more. And I was like, I
can't do that. And then I became vegan when I
moved to La.
Speaker 4 (01:16:15):
Did he push it on you?
Speaker 5 (01:16:16):
Did he not?
Speaker 1 (01:16:17):
Really?
Speaker 15 (01:16:17):
He was like, look at these videos and I was like, oh,
I feel bad, like for the animals, and I like
became That's kind of how it started.
Speaker 4 (01:16:23):
He didn't do it cold turkey, No, I didn't.
Speaker 15 (01:16:25):
I waited until I got into health and fitness and
then I changed it up.
Speaker 6 (01:16:29):
Okay, now, how did you come up with Pinky? Because
you were Pinky hooked up with Slutdy Veganto. I guess
you sell these at her restaurants or a spot. So
how did y'all hook up?
Speaker 15 (01:16:36):
So Pinky and I have known each other for quite
some time. We sat down, we talked, we had this
idea on this, this whole idea with this business, and
then that was really it. We that was history from
there and then we just launched right now as you know,
in Sludd Vegan in Harlem, Brooklyn and all the locations.
Speaker 1 (01:16:52):
They talked to us about Angela's cakes, And how does
your guy feel about this name?
Speaker 4 (01:16:56):
It's fine everybody. Daddy got it, Yeah, sure everybody.
Speaker 15 (01:17:03):
I got the approval. I got the approval.
Speaker 12 (01:17:04):
He likes it.
Speaker 15 (01:17:05):
Yeah, he's supportive as well. But yeah, I'm vegan. We
came up with the mix. We actually really sat in
the kitchen like and like figured out the ingredients. Did
it like we didn't just like find it like we
did it. I have a lot of funds that.
Speaker 4 (01:17:18):
Too, so it's made in the facility that also produced it.
Speaker 1 (01:17:21):
Okay, never mind, I like to read the ingredients cause
I really don't know the difference between what's vegan and
what's not.
Speaker 15 (01:17:30):
So it's no like dairy, you know what I mean.
So there's no milk, there's no eggs. It's strictly vegan,
like you good and you use like oat milk and
vegan butter.
Speaker 5 (01:17:38):
Well.
Speaker 1 (01:17:38):
One thing I love about you and Angela is that
throughout your whole career we've seen you, it's like you're
always trying to redefine yourself or reinvent yourself with that
intentional because you didn't want to just get boxing into
the reality TV not really.
Speaker 15 (01:17:52):
I just do what I like to do, what I
love to do, and like I stick to it. So
to me, like when I have a passion for something,
I just go for it. I don't really allow anyone
else to define that. So that's what I do.
Speaker 4 (01:18:02):
Do you have a deal with Orioles?
Speaker 6 (01:18:03):
Because I know when you posted a picture in the
tub with all the Orioles, people were going at you,
oh my gosh. But then Orioles left the messages like
we love it. So I was like, I wonder if
she has a deal with Orioles.
Speaker 7 (01:18:11):
No, I don't currently have one, not yet. No, Because
they said they had a crush on Angela Semmonthnies.
Speaker 15 (01:18:16):
I like that they should have a crush. She's good.
Speaker 4 (01:18:18):
I just don't understand why people got upset at that picture.
Speaker 15 (01:18:21):
It's weird.
Speaker 2 (01:18:22):
It's strange. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:18:23):
Are you and Keiky Palmer like y'all real tight in
real life and she came to your defense.
Speaker 15 (01:18:27):
I've known her actually for some time too. She's been
super cool, super supportive, really nice person. So we coolm hmm.
Speaker 4 (01:18:34):
I saw you walking your dog and people got mad,
But what do you mean cringe?
Speaker 15 (01:18:44):
I was just walking the dog.
Speaker 2 (01:18:46):
The dog putting up a middle finger. She was chilling
the dog. Nothing, she was just walking. And it wasn't
even a long video.
Speaker 15 (01:18:51):
It was a couple of seconds, probably twenty five.
Speaker 1 (01:18:54):
It was so cute.
Speaker 2 (01:18:54):
I would say, keeping cute.
Speaker 1 (01:18:56):
Yeah, why don't you just start trolling people on perfect
Maybe get with somebody like Jess, She's good as stuff
like that, and y'all.
Speaker 7 (01:19:00):
Just come up with ways to just throw people they're
they really hate it. She started doing anything with me
is now it'll be a skit.
Speaker 15 (01:19:09):
We could make a skin of what we're doing.
Speaker 1 (01:19:10):
But even the bag at the BET Awards, you had
the gun bag. People were mad about that, but that
was considered fashion. Most people people do that all the time.
Speaker 4 (01:19:18):
Yeah. I mean for me to apologize for that one.
Speaker 15 (01:19:20):
Why yeah, well, I only apologize because I felt like,
you know, it offended some people, and for me, I
mean people were offended. People were in their feelings about it,
and for me, I just like the bag. I thought
it was nice. It's a green bag. I'm on the carpet.
I'm gonna explain it exactly what happened. I'm on the carpet.
I take some photos the pop Arzi like all of
the camera. You know, they see in the bag. They
(01:19:40):
said they like it. I'm at the end of the carpet.
They're like pointing here, we want to see it. I'm
clearly smiling. I mean, personally, I am affected by gun violence.
So I'm not no shape or form promoting that, you
know what I mean. Like I deal with that every
day with my son, you know what I mean. So
that's not something I'm promoting.
Speaker 1 (01:19:54):
But I liked it.
Speaker 15 (01:19:55):
I thought it was cool. I liked the bag. It
was green, it went with my dress. It was different.
It's not classic.
Speaker 1 (01:20:00):
It's being with Gotti and like, I don't know, going
to Memphis, what inspire you to have the gun shape?
Speaker 4 (01:20:04):
Person Maybe?
Speaker 15 (01:20:05):
No, I literally, just I literally just like the purse.
I thought the purse was like cool and different, you know,
Like for me, I don't want to do what everybody
else doing. I just do what I like to do.
When I thought that it matched the dress and it
was different than a classic clutch, I.
Speaker 4 (01:20:20):
Didn't like that. You apologize though, because I'm like, what
are you apologizing for?
Speaker 15 (01:20:23):
Just I didn't because I don't like to upset anyone,
you know what I mean. Like, if you're offended or
think I was trying to promote gun violence. I'm not,
you know what I mean. So I'm just like true
to that and true to who I am. So that's
the only reason you.
Speaker 1 (01:20:34):
Could have been promoting Second Amendment rights though, like I'm
I'm I'm too ay all day.
Speaker 4 (01:20:38):
I believe my second memory right. So it's like, who knows.
Speaker 15 (01:20:41):
I mean, they read it wrong. I feel like the
media just painted a picture that they wanted to and
it's not true. It's not even who I am.
Speaker 2 (01:20:47):
You know, that's just how I am. Would you wear
it again? I don't think it's necessary.
Speaker 15 (01:20:53):
You know, they've seen it. I mean, I thought it
was cool in the moment. I liked the person that
was it. It was really simple, like I didn't mean
nothing else.
Speaker 1 (01:20:59):
But all of these rappers that be in music videos
with guns and promoting guns, and they gonna get mad
at Angela Simmons and Angela Simmons have to apologize.
Speaker 15 (01:21:09):
Come on, it's different.
Speaker 1 (01:21:11):
Is different.
Speaker 2 (01:21:12):
It is different. They're rappers.
Speaker 7 (01:21:14):
They rap about shooting guns and everything. Even if they don't,
that's a different life. She's you know, I get why.
Speaker 15 (01:21:20):
I'm just I'm not about that life. That's just not me,
Like I literally just thought it was a nice purse
at the time, and it matched the dress. It was green,
it wasn't the regular person you would wear with it.
I don't know that was mine. That's all I got
for that.
Speaker 9 (01:21:32):
I'm much.
Speaker 1 (01:21:33):
Does social media impact you in moments like that, because
you know, people like you just said, people were online saying, oh,
you know, she lost her ex fiance the gun violence,
so she should be more cautious like that. Did that
really get to you?
Speaker 15 (01:21:43):
To me, It's like I'm living that right, Like that's
my everyday thing. My son's asking what happened to his dad,
my son's looking it up, like I go through that,
so it's like that's my real life. And then like
whatever people like paint online is on them. I normally
don't even like I just don't talk in the dress.
Whatever people say, it doesn't affect me because I've been
around on it so long, Like I'm used to people
having their own opinion, Like I know who I am,
(01:22:04):
so I don't it don't affect me. I only said
cause I was like all right side of controls out
of hand, like let me just say what it is,
you know what I mean? But that to me, it
doesn't affect me in that way.
Speaker 4 (01:22:13):
We got more with Angela Simmons when we come backs
and don't move. It's the Breakfast Club.
Speaker 6 (01:22:17):
Good morning morning everybody. It's dj n V Jess Hilarious, Charlamage.
The guy we are the Breakfast Club was still chopping
it up with Angela Simmons, Angela Cakes. It's out right
now with Slutty Vegan, so you can go to any
slutty Vegan store and check it out.
Speaker 4 (01:22:30):
Chell them.
Speaker 1 (01:22:31):
I was joking before, but did you did you ask
your pops about the tough thing or was that just
you paying homage or did.
Speaker 4 (01:22:37):
He say anything to you?
Speaker 15 (01:22:39):
No, I actually just did it. It was the idea
of mine and Khaliland, my partner who's actually in here,
and I just we thought it was cool. Like we
were like, we're putting out fried orioles. What else would
you do? It said bathing orioles, you know what I mean, Like,
it's a cool idea. So I didn't think nothing else
of it. And then obviously it came up with people
like your dad and I'm like, well it is true.
I mean my dad did, hasn't done sit in the tub.
(01:23:02):
So I mean, but no, I didn't like even think
about it like that. I just thought it was.
Speaker 6 (01:23:05):
Cool people forget your age because people keep saying it,
you know, like what about your dad? But they don't
know that you're in your thirties, you know, like do
they think that you're still a teenager? Like he said,
did your dad?
Speaker 15 (01:23:15):
Like I feel like, you know, being on Runs House
and growing up on Runs House in seventeen, it's like
they stuck somewhere over there, like I'm not eighteen, I'm
not seventeen, like I'm grown, grown, but they do, like
I think, they forget. And then on top of I
think a lot of times people because of where I
come from, they prejudge before like knowing me. I mean
obviously no one really truly knows me, said my people,
but like on social they think they know me, Like
(01:23:37):
you shouldn't be doing that, why, Like that's me, I'm grown,
That's what I do.
Speaker 9 (01:23:41):
You know.
Speaker 4 (01:23:42):
I'm gonna thought he's been in the South because I
hear accents. Got definitely got that, definitely got that accent music,
like that music, a real stuff accent, Like what's going on?
Speaker 15 (01:23:57):
It's probably my man? Probably it's probably the influence man got.
Speaker 7 (01:24:02):
Young man or you wasn't the only people to have
like a crush on you. He's had a crush on me.
He said that in a song. How did it go
from a bar in a song to a full blown relationship.
Speaker 15 (01:24:11):
I don't know. We got here that was years ago
and then just cut too like we're together, like it's
pretty real.
Speaker 2 (01:24:20):
Was it like did you were you? Was you crushing
on him too? Or was it just like did he
try to hit you up?
Speaker 4 (01:24:25):
Keep on hitting you up?
Speaker 15 (01:24:26):
No, I wasn't like that. He wasn't like that. We
had no like you seen each other. He was, oh
my god, you can't take my past. But now he
wasn't like hitting me up all the time and nothing
like that, Like we had seen each other previously, went
(01:24:48):
to dinner like, which is cool, you know what I mean.
And then after we hung like whenever that was like
two years ago, almost like we just never stopped hanging
and then like we was together.
Speaker 4 (01:24:58):
Got either one. Yeah for sure, you want to get
married and all of that.
Speaker 15 (01:25:02):
Yeah, definitely, I'm too old playing games.
Speaker 4 (01:25:05):
I'm inny and that is that is the thing.
Speaker 9 (01:25:07):
You know.
Speaker 4 (01:25:07):
When we had him up here, we was talking to
him about it.
Speaker 1 (01:25:10):
He said he hadn't uh, he hadn't really sat down
and had a conversation with your with your father yet.
Speaker 4 (01:25:15):
So you feel men have to get dad's approval.
Speaker 15 (01:25:18):
For sure, my dad likes him, No, he does, so,
I mean, for sure, I think a man should always
go to a father. And I'm Daddy's girl, So for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:25:25):
I'm gonna tell you something. He looked like a part
of the family. He got the he got the head
shape he does like kids, yok, like you.
Speaker 5 (01:25:43):
Don't look like.
Speaker 4 (01:25:45):
He doesn't shape.
Speaker 2 (01:25:47):
Is in the league of his own.
Speaker 8 (01:25:48):
He do not have.
Speaker 4 (01:25:53):
You know, he got his own shape.
Speaker 2 (01:25:54):
Going on, how you try to put no, none, no, no,
don't look related.
Speaker 4 (01:26:00):
Why was it important for you to make your son
CEO if his father's company.
Speaker 15 (01:26:04):
Well, first of all, my son likes business already, he's
already liked a little mini hustler. He wants to know
how to make money, get his own like he's just
that's just who he is. But his father actually left
that company in his name, and when his father was here,
he helped build up that company. So I want him
to know what his father left for him. And so
and he's ready, he's like only go to work. I'm
trying to go every day. I got ideas all the
(01:26:25):
T shirts. He's seven, Wow, but he just likes that
stuff like he's into it, into the sneakers, He's into
the things that his father was into. But his dad
left it for him. So I wanted him to know
that this is available for you. And they're still building
it up. His partner Ivan actively runs it, but you know,
I want him to know that that's an option.
Speaker 6 (01:26:43):
I was got he with him because got he has
a great business line, and that's somebody that definitely I'm
sure I could teach him a couple of things about
a couple of hundred bands and stuff.
Speaker 15 (01:26:50):
Yeah, he's great with him. Like he sat him down
because actually likes like he wants to do game and YouTube.
He just has ideas. Like he sat him down before
and showed him his plaques with the YouTube stuff and
he was like, okay, you know, like my son just
processes information. But he's good with him. He's really good
with him.
Speaker 2 (01:27:05):
Speaking of your baby, boy, do you want more kids Eventually?
Speaker 15 (01:27:08):
I think yeah, when the time makes sense. But for now,
I'm like, I'm cool.
Speaker 4 (01:27:13):
God sign absolutely Yeah, Man, you and God are gonna
do a t L too. This is like the new
new News.
Speaker 15 (01:27:19):
I'll yeah, everybody does. I don't even even hear you,
even hear myself, but I think, I literally think once
I started dating him like.
Speaker 2 (01:27:35):
It just I don't know.
Speaker 4 (01:27:36):
If anybody closed their eyes, they would swear you from
the South.
Speaker 15 (01:27:41):
Say that because I used to say my accent from
New York was so strong. You can't tell me you.
Speaker 2 (01:27:46):
Don't hear it.
Speaker 15 (01:27:50):
I can't hear it, say heard heard, Yeah, I said.
Speaker 4 (01:27:56):
It's almost there. It's almost deaf. What's next for Angela
and her entrepreneur efforts.
Speaker 15 (01:28:02):
Angela is pushing Angela's Cakes. That's my main thing is
getting them, you know, in the stores, which I'm working
on and putting them where it got to go, and
just growing it, growing the brand, continuing on my wellness path.
Always got some other stuff up my citat.
Speaker 4 (01:28:17):
Ain't no hold.
Speaker 15 (01:28:19):
Did you hear it then?
Speaker 11 (01:28:22):
Was it?
Speaker 4 (01:28:23):
Everything?
Speaker 11 (01:28:24):
Wow?
Speaker 15 (01:28:24):
It's heavy like that?
Speaker 1 (01:28:26):
Yes, who's the first person that pointed out you? Because
it can't be us now you're not.
Speaker 15 (01:28:30):
It's I've heard. I keep hearing it now and I'm
they're like the South, what happened? It's just my man
he is just.
Speaker 4 (01:28:40):
You don't really.
Speaker 6 (01:28:41):
Sound Memphis though it sounds like a Landa like down South,
MISSISSIPTND like Alan.
Speaker 4 (01:28:46):
That don't sound like Memphis like that.
Speaker 15 (01:28:49):
I'm just not picking up the words like you think,
like the words the world like you think. I almost
like that's not.
Speaker 2 (01:28:54):
Gonna fully happen. They say, Yo dead ass be Yo.
Speaker 15 (01:28:58):
Dead ass be. No, No, that wasn't it dead ass b.
Speaker 4 (01:29:08):
That was that was he sounds like something that trying
to sound like it sounds like Drake trying to sound
like he's from New York.
Speaker 12 (01:29:15):
That was New York.
Speaker 15 (01:29:20):
You can't say like I'm from somewhere else. I'm from
New York.
Speaker 4 (01:29:25):
Angelous Simmons, Ladies and gentlemen, listen, what can we get
Angela's cakes?
Speaker 15 (01:29:29):

Speaker 1 (01:30:33):
Getting ready for Certify Vibe tonight, but we'll talk about
that in a second.
Speaker 17 (01:30:36):
Yes, it's only right man, Tonight's gonna be a movie.
But speaking of movies, this.
Speaker 18 (01:30:40):
Week Blast had an album listening party in Brooklyn and
it was crazy. I DJ shout out to Eagle Game,
but his album just dropped. It kind of has like
a house music vibe and Earth Game actually just dropped
the House Music Vibe album too. But my favorite joint
off of Blast one is Blast and Joyce Rice with better.
Speaker 17 (01:30:56):
Off as friend.
Speaker 4 (01:30:57):
Okay, like that.
Speaker 7 (01:30:58):
You can't go wrong with a Blast record. I feel
like he has a unique sound. He can't be played
and you not figure.
Speaker 4 (01:31:03):
Out who he is. He does, he does have a
unique sound.
Speaker 2 (01:31:07):
Love that for him.
Speaker 17 (01:31:08):
Okay, good, we got tens across the board.
Speaker 4 (01:31:10):
I love that.
Speaker 2 (01:31:10):
All right.
Speaker 17 (01:31:11):
Next we're gonna go with Rob nine and Cardi.
Speaker 2 (01:31:13):
B on that money.
Speaker 4 (01:31:16):
Forty nine Cardi B. That's all.
Speaker 1 (01:31:18):
Whatever I hear songs like that, I be thinking to
myself how disgusting money really is? Man Like, like when
somebody give you some cash, ain't no telling what they've
done to that cash?
Speaker 4 (01:31:27):
With that cash is Yeah, how many hands it's touched?
You know what I mean? Some body doesn't sit on
the money. Okay, all right, Jesus, all right.
Speaker 6 (01:31:36):
But the records, they got a video records Odeo.
Speaker 17 (01:31:40):
And they got a video.
Speaker 18 (01:31:41):
I was actually surprised to see them to collabing. But yeah,
I'm happy about it.
Speaker 17 (01:31:47):
Another collab that.
Speaker 4 (01:31:48):
You're surprised to see them collab though. Cardi always connects
with the new the new people, Yeah she do.
Speaker 2 (01:31:54):
I just don't. But just those two, I get what
she's saying. Those like Rod for or not. Yeah, I
didn't see that collab coming. Not mad.
Speaker 18 (01:32:02):
This is not a complaint. This is just a happy surprise.
But the last one is another collab. Y'all know, I'm
a big Mexican ot fan, and I'm a big Dizzel
Curry fan Dinzel courage to drop the project, and they
did a video for this as well.
Speaker 17 (01:32:15):
But I love this record. It's the black Flag free style.
Speaker 7 (01:32:19):
That's a different line that sounds like one of them
down South. It's sound like a like a like a
three six little flow a little bit.
Speaker 4 (01:32:28):
I think I felt like little bit.
Speaker 17 (01:32:32):
You got some futures off this tape too.
Speaker 1 (01:32:35):
And Mexican Ot is hard. Yes, Mexican Ot has no much.
He has no idea how much I enjoy his music.
He's dope, He's dope dope.
Speaker 18 (01:32:43):
His flow is crazy crazy Top two right there, MC's
right now, Denzel and Mexican I mean and j D.
And you know Rhapsody, who's gonna be in the building tonight.

It ain't nothing else on TV right now anyway.
Speaker 5 (01:34:43):
For Power Power.
Speaker 4 (01:34:44):
The only thing on TV Rap Power.
Speaker 3 (01:34:46):
The shots finished.
Speaker 2 (01:34:48):
Y'all can go back and watch The Wire if y'all want.

anybody who is dealing with chickle cell. I have the
