Speaker 1 (00:01):
The toys.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
I'm the homegirl that knows a little bit about everything
and everybody.
Speaker 3 (00:06):
You don't know if you don't lie about that, right Lauren, Hey, y'all.
Speaker 1 (00:09):
What's up.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
It's Laura l Rosa and this is the latest with
Laura la Rosa. This is your Deli dig on all
things pop culture, entertainment, news, and all of the conversations
that shake the room. Baby Now, Miss Jennifer Lopez has
been on a press tour of sorts. J Lo has
been running around presenting her or presenting it. Has been
(00:33):
running around having conversations about a new movie that she
is starring in, A Kiss of a Spider Woman. And
during these press tours, you know, there's a lot of
conversations that are being had about her dating, her marriages
and all the things.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
You know.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
She recently real recently it has been divorced from Ben Affleck.
They got divorced back in February, and this was their
second time trying to do this whole thing.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
This was ben a for two point oh.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
This was supposed to be the one, This was supposed
to be Okay, she finally got it together.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
They doing the things. It was so beautiful. The love
story we kindled and Dune Dundune it did not work.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
So as she's on this tour, of course these conversations
are coming up now. She sat down with Howard Stern,
and Howard Stern began talking to her about dating and
her dating life, and Howard Stern acts as Jlo. You know,
how are you even doing this at this point because
you're Jaelo, Like what does love look like for you?
And how do you even you know, y'all know that
(01:31):
conversation because you're.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Super famous, like how are you dating? What is that vibe? Like,
let's take a listen.
Speaker 4 (01:36):
As soon as you hook up with a guy. Yeah,
I don't know how a relationship could survive.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
It's difficult to be under that, you know microscope.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
Yeah, does it seem like everything is doomed from the beginning?
You know what?
Speaker 1 (01:48):
I no, No, I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:49):
I don't feel that. I feel that I lived my
life very out loud, even though I was in the
public eye, and I wanted to share my life with someone.
I want someone to be there when I'm having my
big important moments on the red carpet. I want someone
to be there, you know, when I'm doing whatever, or
when I'm going to the store. Whatever it is, like,
I wanted to share that, and so I didn't hide
(02:11):
from it, and I spoke about it. And I think now,
after what's happened in the past few years to me
and to my children, I just feel like I want
to keep that part so much more quiet in my life.
And it's hard because these are big moments in your life.
You want to share them with everybody, right, and you
think that's okay. But the truth is, when you're in
(02:31):
this type of career and you have the type of
level of fame that we're talking about, there is a
compromise you have. There are adjustments that you do need
to make because it is a very blessed life.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
But then, and this is what got one of j
Lo's exes pretty pretty upset. Her first husband, Oh, Johnny, no, no, Haii.
I'm probably saying this last thing wrong. I say names
wrong a lot.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
She was married to him in ninety seven. They divorced
in ninety eight.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
They were only together for about eleven months, and then
she started dating Diddy, So that ex husband was pissed
about these comments. She says she's never been truly loved.
Let's take a listen.
Speaker 4 (03:08):
Do you think you've truly been loved?
Speaker 3 (03:11):
No?
Speaker 4 (03:12):
No? And do you think you really have experienced loving someone?
Yes you have? Yeah, And when you can't get that
love back.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
What I learned it's not that I'm not lovable, is
that they're not capable. They can't love, they don't have
it in them. They need to appreciate the little person
inside of them. They able to give them relationships, and
they gave me what they had, but they gave me
all of it every time.
Speaker 4 (03:35):
But it's this much.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
All the rings, all the things I could ever want
try to give me, the houses, the rings, the marriage,
all of it.
Speaker 4 (03:43):
But they didn't love you.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
They didn't and didn't know you, and I didn't love myself.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
Right, It's tough. This is just some journey, right it is.
And you know, I was thinking about your music. Most
of your songs are about love. They really are.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
They're all about love.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
I'm not gonna hold all.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
When I saw the clip like the not never been
truly loved clip, I knew I'm like, of all of
the relationships we've watched with j Lo and the ex husbands,
somebody is gonna come out and be like girl, what
because to me, there isn't a lot of accountability in
(04:19):
her answer, and we don't know the inside details of
the marriages. We don't, so I mean, who's to say
that she was the one in the right and they
were in the wrong every single time. It just doesn't
seem realistic, Like as a human being, as a person
who you know, relationships, they're always fifty to fifty. You
got sometimes somebody's right, sometimes somebody's wrong, all the things right.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
And granted it.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
Is totally her choice to say I feel like I
was not loved correctly, and I'm standing on that, and
that is why I am choosing to, you know, do
me and focus on me and love me right now.
I totally love that for her. But it just didn't
seem realistic. I don't think that there is ever in
my opinion, I've never heard someone talk about a divorce
(05:04):
or a marriage in general where one thing didn't like
not one thing didn't.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Cause the other.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
But we're you know, there just wasn't things on both sides,
like when you're with somebody. I mean, in eleven months
is not a long time, you know, but it's still
some time. But there's been multiple different marriages following oh, Johnny,
you know she was married to Chris Judd in two
thousand and one, Mark Anthony in two thousand and four,
Ben Affleck in twenty twenty two, and then dating and
stuff in between that. I thought that there would be
(05:32):
a little bit more and I think a lot of
us were waiting to see. You know, where does she
come into play in this at all? People have always wondered, like,
what's the issue and is it jaylove? We've always wondered that.
But he came out and he had a lot to say.
So in response to that, oh Johnny says, stop putting
us down. Stop putting me down with your victim card.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
The problem. It's not us, not me, the problem. It's you.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
You're the only one who could who couldn't keep it
in your pants. You have been loved, and he put
loved in quotation marks a few times. You've been married
four times and have had countless relationships in between. You
have had good relationships dot dot dot me. For example,
I was in love with you. I was even moving
out of state, leaving my job. So when they were dating,
(06:18):
they were in different places. So he was in one state.
He was a waiter at the time that him and
Jlo met. Jalo was like on her way up and
figuring it out. But the start it wasn't like Jlo,
so she I mean, she was Jlo, but she was
still on her way up. So she had just godcast
at Selena. And then you guys know around the time
of selenas when she started working on her first album,
(06:39):
you know, she got the big record deal and all
the things. So they were kind of in the beginning
stages of their career. His dream was to open up
a restaurant. She was doing the entertainment thing and they
were going to do it together. So they were in
various states at the time, so he's saying, I was
going to move out of state, lead my job, my family,
my friends behind and support you, to love you, protect you,
and to care for you.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
I'm an amaze.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
He's in loving person, a great human being, honest, faithful
to you. I'd never lied, never misbehaved, never cheated, and
he put cheated in all caps on you.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
I was too good for you.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
I'm too good of a man for you, and I
will say around the time of their separation and even
years after, Oh, Johnny has always spoke out and when
he spoke out. He's always said, I might be saying
his wrong name. I believe it's O Honey, not Oh Johnny. Yeah,
it's oh Honey. Dang, I'm saying oh Johnny, it's oh Honey.
(07:31):
But even around that time, he was always saying that,
you know, when he alleges that when j Lo got
the big record deal and Diddy was brought in to
produce some of her songs, that's when everything kind of split.
So it sounds to me, and I think he's actually
said this before that Diddy was the reason for them,
because at that point, now she becomes j Lo and
(07:51):
and the fame hits and all the things, and she
decides to move on. And I've also seen reports too
that there were some like, you know, paperwork sent to
him so that he could stop talking about the relationship
in the past with them and all the things.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
But he talking now.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
That was supposed to be via his Instagram story, and
of course you know, the people picked it up could
not wait.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
Now.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
In other relationship news, Nli Choppa, So y'all remember we
talked about Nli Choppa and he did to sit down
on Kirk Franklin's Den of Kings.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
He was with ray J keV on stage.
Speaker 2 (08:33):
Doctor J who does the Just Heal podcast on the
Black Effect Network with Doctor J, and they were having
conversations about so many things, relationships, self harm, suicide, just
being black men, being vulnerable, you know, being happy, not
being happy, grief, death and n La Choppa really got
(08:55):
mixture reviews about his role in the conversation. And when
I reported this on the Breakfast Club, I said that
I believe in Nli Choppa.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
Meant well and his input was valued.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
You know, I think the point of the discussions that
Kirk Franklin has is that he brings people from all
different places, all different walks of life, different ages, different experiences,
and it's like come as you are and.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
They get together.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
They eat good, they talk good, and it's a great
interaction to see. You got Ray J in the room,
so you know there's some comedic relief, not even on purpose,
but it was a good interaction.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
It was a good conversation.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
But Nli Choppa got pushed back, even you know, from
Ray J in the actual dinner because a lot of
people felt like Nli Choppa just wasn't listening and you know,
he was only there to rebut what was being said
and not actually take in and you know all of
that stuff. But there were some pretty you know, crazy moments,
(09:54):
not crazy, but there were some moments between Nli Choppa
and Jonathan Majors. One of the ones that picked up
the biggest well when Nlie Chapper began to talk about
reading the Bible and you know, just everybody being able
to walk the same and you know how people look
at God versus you listen, let's list.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
And Christianity.
Speaker 1 (10:16):
It's a thing.
Speaker 6 (10:16):
Where people praise the son more than they praise the Father.
And that's what I don't like, because if we are
man made in the likeness Jesus is our brother. You
get what I'm saying, why would I drop down and
(10:39):
praise my brother instead of praising my father? And it
goes back to honor in your parents.
Speaker 5 (10:46):
I just gotta say, sorry, what, oh, have you read
the Bible?
Speaker 4 (10:52):
Read? I read the Bible.
Speaker 6 (10:54):
I listened to the Bible I received from sources.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
I would say, read it again.
Speaker 2 (11:00):
The mess your question right, chat that go read the
Bible again went crazy online?
Speaker 1 (11:06):
Okay, and I just think that, I mean, listen.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
I watched the full interview when it came out we
broke it down here on The Latest with Lauren le
Rose of the podcast.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
If you guys have not listened to the episode, please go.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Take a listen. It'll give you some more context into
the full conversation. I didn't feel like there was tension
between Jonathan Majors and Nli Choppa. I felt like a
few people in the room were getting to the point
where they were running out of patience for Nlli Choppa
and just how he was responding and you know those things.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
But I didn't feel like there was tension.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
But Nli Choppa said to TMZ they caught him out
at the airport over the weekend, and he says he
believes there was sension because he shot his shot at
Megan Good, who is now married to Jonathan Majors. Let's
take a listen to Nli Chapa on the alleged beef
with him and Jonathan Majors.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
I feel like it's not an issue with Majors.
Speaker 7 (11:57):
I never had one.
Speaker 5 (11:58):
I do feel like it was tension going into the
interview on his behalf because I've publicly said man's compliment
and Meghan Good about how you look, so like during
the interview.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
It was like certain moments to where like I.
Speaker 7 (12:13):
Just felt like he kept trying to use the Meghan
game to like you know how people are as kids,
people waved up in your face like hey I got this,
you ain't got that.
Speaker 5 (12:24):
Yeah, But it wasn't even that, bro, It was like,
you know, I respect whatever you know, union y'all have,
But it was like he kept during the interview, it
was moments where it just felt forced and it felt
unnatural with how he was bringing her into the equation.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
Yeah, so let's not to listen to the you know,
NL E shop of shooting his shot. Now, can I
preface this was saying Meghan Good was single at the time.
She wasn't with Jonathan Majors that we knew of. She
was recently you know, divorced from Devon Franklin, who you know,
she had a very public relationship with a lot of
people were shooting their shot, even if just on social
(13:00):
media because it's Meghan Good, She's gorgeous. Let's listen to
Lli Chopper though he was sitting down with Jason Lee,
shout out to Jason Lee.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
Hey, Jason and Jason Lee actually called Meghan Good for
NLL because he had been shooting his shot so much.
Speaker 8 (13:14):
It's next was she's recently single? Megan Good Way on
her yes, like yes, man, like, listen, let me call Meghan.
Speaker 5 (13:24):
We got Meganova.
Speaker 8 (13:26):
Come on, Jason Lee.
Speaker 3 (13:27):
Oh, she gottaut.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
I could be appreciate all that.
Speaker 3 (13:30):
What else you want me to be?
Speaker 8 (13:33):
Meghan? Hey, this is Jason Lee. This is my other phone.
But I'm literally sitting here filming my show right now.
I'm filming right now with a rapper who just said
your We're playing a game called smash her pass. I
put up Megan Good and he almost fell out his chair.
Everybody else has been getting passes? What say hello to
(13:54):
NLLI Chopper. He hasn't given me this minch energy the
whole interview, but now I see every tooth in his mouth.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Hi, Hey, how you doing?
Speaker 4 (14:03):
Meg?
Speaker 8 (14:05):
I'm good?
Speaker 1 (14:05):
How are you doing?
Speaker 3 (14:06):
I'm extremely blessed.
Speaker 7 (14:08):
Oh I was just telling she hung up, let me
say it.
Speaker 1 (14:13):
Phone die now.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
The phone got disconnected, you know. And of course that
was that went viral as well. But NL Chopper says
that Meghan Good called back, and Meccan Goood actually talked
about calling back as well, but I don't think she
was interested. She said, you know Nli Chopper was a baby,
he's a little young for her. I don't think she
was really interested. I think she was just being polite. Now,
let's also a preface. This was saying the whole NLL
(14:35):
shooting is shot and Megan Good phone call thing. That
was back in March of twenty twenty three. It's October
twenty twenty five. I don't think Donavan Majors would still
be upset. But let's take a listen to Megan Good
because back you know, in twenty twenty three, she did
address the phone call and the phone called, you know,
dropping or her hanging up and her calling back, and
I guests she was interested.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
I mean, so he kind of shot his shot.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
So what happened in that congress?
Speaker 1 (15:00):
Oh, I'm just I'm very old. I'm just kidding.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
Okay, he's a little okay, but I mean it was
still still flattered, you.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Know, No, always definitely flatter. So y'all, let me know
what y'all think.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
Is it real beef in these streets with Jonathan Major's
and Nli Choppa. I never thought I'd be putting those
two names together and asking is there beef? You know,
take it to the streets and the tweets. Let me
know what y'all think. Outside, We outside.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
Outside, outside, every other page.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
I really think that Nli Choppa misread the energy from
Jonathan Majors. I don't think that it was intentional from
Jonathan Majors, but we have not heard from him on this.
But I watched the full interview and there were points
where I think everybody was kind of, you know, growing
a bit impatient with Nellie, even Kirk Franklin. There was
(15:52):
a moment where Kirk Franklin had to ask an Lli
chopping himself like hey, you know, and.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
Elie hold on for a second.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
And it wasn't impatient where they it was like in
discuss It was brotherly, it was out of love. It
was we love you. We want you to hear us, y'all.
Let me know what y'all think. Okay, I'm Laura la Rosa.
Everywhere I want to hear from you guys. At the
end of the day, there's always a lot to talk about,
and y'all, I love it and I appreciate it every
single time you guys are here with me to talk
(16:19):
about it.
Speaker 1 (16:20):
I'm Laura l Rosa. This is the latest with Laura L.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
Rosa, and I will catch you guys in my next episode.
