Speaker 1 (04:44):
I want to be down or something in there. Period.
Speaker 5 (04:46):
Let's do it.
Speaker 7 (04:47):
It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning everybody.
Speaker 4 (04:48):
It's DJ NV, Jess Hilary and Charlamagna.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
Guy.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get in some front
page news. Let's start off for some quick sports and
Thursday night football of Houston, Texas beat the Bills twenty
three nineteen.
Speaker 5 (05:02):
What's that MEMI?
Speaker 11 (05:04):
Good morning, Envy, Charlamagne Gef's how y'all doing PC around?
Speaker 12 (05:08):
Good morning y'all?
Speaker 11 (05:09):
All right, well, we start this morning on Capitol Hill
where six Democratic lawmakers, all former military or intelligence officers.
Speaker 12 (05:16):
They are issuing a stark warning. So in a video
posted on x.
Speaker 11 (05:20):
They are urging service members and intelligence officials to reject
any unlawful orders that could come from the Trump administration.
They say the threats to our constitution are now coming
from right here at home, and are calling on the
military and the intelligence community to stand firm and refuse
illegal commands.
Speaker 12 (05:37):
Let's listen to some of that video.
Speaker 5 (05:39):
Our laws are clear, you can refuse illegal orders.
Speaker 13 (05:43):
No one has to carry out orders that violate the
law or our constitution.
Speaker 14 (05:47):
We know this is hard and that it's a difficult
time to be a public servant.
Speaker 15 (05:51):
But whether you're serving in the CIA.
Speaker 5 (05:53):
The Army or Navy Air Force. Your vigilance is critical.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
And know that we have your back, because now more
than ever.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
The American people need you.
Speaker 14 (06:02):
We need you to stand up for our laws, our constitution,
and who we are as Americans.
Speaker 15 (06:07):
Don't give up the ship.
Speaker 11 (06:10):
Now they don't specify what illegal orders they're referring to,
but under military law, troops are required to disobey unlawful
orders and can even be prosecuted for following one.
Speaker 12 (06:20):
Now, this message comes at a tense moment.
Speaker 11 (06:22):
US military leaders and even some of America's closest allies.
They have questioned the legality of a series of Trump
ordered strikes on suspected drug traffickers in the Caribbean.
Speaker 12 (06:33):
Now those strikes.
Speaker 11 (06:34):
They have killed about eighty three people since September. Now,
Trump he fired back almost immediately, blasting the lawmakers on
true social calling them traders, saying an example must be set,
and reposting supporters calling for violence, including one post that
said they should be hanged.
Speaker 12 (06:51):
Now at the.
Speaker 11 (06:51):
White House, Press Secretary Caroline Levitt is offending the President's actions,
insisting those lawmakers should be held accountable. Let's listen to
that exchange.
Speaker 13 (07:01):
Both the President and the Vice President for that matter,
have accused the other side of encouraging political violence. Isn't
that exactly what the president is doing when he says
that members of Congress should be killed.
Speaker 16 (07:12):
Why aren't you talking about what these members of Congress
are doing to encourage it? In cite violence, they are
literally saying to one point three million active duty service
members not to defy the chain of command, not to
follow lawful orders.
Speaker 5 (07:27):
Everything is an illegal order, which they are.
Speaker 16 (07:30):
But they're suggesting, they're suggesting, Nancy, that the President has
given illegal orders, which he has not. Every single order
that is given to this United States Military by this
Commander in chief and through this command chain of command,
through the Secretary of War is lawful. And the courts
have proven that this administration has an unparalleled record at
the Supreme Court because we are following the laws.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
We don't defy court orders. We do things by the books.
Speaker 16 (07:57):
And to suggest and encourage that active duty service members
to find the chain of command is a very dangerous
thing for sitting members of Congress to do, and they
should be held accountable.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
And that's what the President wants to see.
Speaker 6 (08:09):
Yeah, that video had Republicans Tripp and yesterday I was
flipping back and forth between news networks, you know, because
I love hearing how everyone is addressing a single topic.
Speaker 5 (08:16):
And on Fox, the problem.
Speaker 6 (08:17):
They had was they wanted to know what was in
a legal order, like you just said to me, me,
And then you had other Republicans lines saying dims told
people not to follow lawful orders.
Speaker 5 (08:26):
No, they said illegal, But I do think we do
need to know what what illegal is.
Speaker 11 (08:31):
Yeah, they didn't specify, but several Democratic lawmakers said that
they've received threats since the President posted that, and Democratic
leaders confirm they're now working with Capitol Police to increase
protection for the members that were targeted. So a lot
of different reactions and viewpoints there, for sure, Charlamagne, it.
Speaker 6 (08:49):
Was crazy if people You know, what Trump did is
clearly wrong, right, But is it criminal because of the
presidential immunity that he's been granted from the Supreme Coup? Like,
I don't know, Yeah, it would be. It should be,
because I feel like it should be criminal. But because
of what he's been granted.
Speaker 11 (09:05):
Is it he has a broad range of things he
can say and do because of ye, what the Supreme
Court granted him. So that's a very you know, intriguing question.
To be continued.
Speaker 12 (09:17):
We have what time for one more envy?
Speaker 5 (09:19):
No?
Speaker 11 (09:19):
Uh huh, all right, all right, next hour we're coming
up at seven really quickly. If you're headed to the
airport with holiday food. TSA just dropped his annual reminder
of what will get you through security and what will
get you stop.
Speaker 12 (09:29):
So we'll talk about travels do and don't coming up
the next hour.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
All right, everybody else, get it off your chest eight
hundred five five one oh five one. If you need
to vent, phone lines wide open again. Eight hundred five
eight five one oh five one.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
It's the Breakfast Club.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
Go morning, wake up, wake up.
Speaker 1 (09:44):
As if you're time to get it off your chest.
Speaker 5 (09:49):
For your matter blessed. We want to hear from you
on the Breakfast blog. Hello, who's this heavy? What's up?
Speaker 3 (09:56):
Chat?
Speaker 17 (09:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (09:58):
Heybo Solome he since what's happening?
Speaker 18 (10:01):
Uh? I called him? Tell people to keep J cole
name out.
Speaker 5 (10:07):
Ain't nobody talking about Jacob? What is just coming? Ain't
nobody talking about Jacole?
Speaker 19 (10:13):
That?
Speaker 18 (10:13):
This is coming from Charlamare and y Lee up there
talking about my man and that song. False propt is
that J Cole Ben addressed. Ben said who he was
talking about and Joey bad As. Ben said that he
heard the song before. Wiley up there, complaining, y'all need
to do y'all research.
Speaker 6 (10:32):
How you gonna tell, How you gonna tell how he'sien?
How everybody know that other verses about it was about
and said.
Speaker 18 (10:40):
It was about bond. It was about bonds. He Ben
said this, said he heard the song before, while someone
he dropped it the next day, do y'all research.
Speaker 5 (10:49):
I don't believe that's well.
Speaker 6 (10:51):
While they think it was about him, and while they
said he confided in j Cole.
Speaker 18 (10:54):
And sensitive, everybody knows why they sensitive.
Speaker 6 (10:57):
And then while they said the next day of false problems, dry,
you gonna tell that man about his experience?
Speaker 5 (11:01):
Do we complain?
Speaker 6 (11:02):
Do we tell you how to feel about when somebody
pumped you in and then the bleed all over your.
Speaker 4 (11:07):
Happened?
Speaker 5 (11:08):
Everybody you got poked that.
Speaker 6 (11:13):
Don't know where you just got pokeing.
Speaker 5 (11:16):
You just got there your face.
Speaker 18 (11:19):
That's the only place like the poke that face.
Speaker 5 (11:21):
That's not true. You just got poked recently you was
in the hospital.
Speaker 7 (11:24):
Wow, I'm sorry.
Speaker 18 (11:26):
Anyway, Yeah, a great weekend. I'm going to Virginia to
go see my mother and my father this weekend. Yes,
what are you coming in next week?
Speaker 1 (11:35):
Or no?
Speaker 5 (11:35):
Yes, yes, Monday and Tuesday will be here.
Speaker 18 (11:38):
We are okay, all right, I'll talk to y'all.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
Body.
Speaker 5 (11:44):
Hello, who's this?
Speaker 1 (11:45):
Good morning?
Speaker 3 (11:46):
This is lady Collins from the point that Virginia.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
You know it.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
Good morning and be good morning, charlom Man.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
Good morning, Jess.
Speaker 3 (11:57):
Okay. So what I wanted to get off my chest
was I found just saw that video of what happened
to that mother and her kids in Chicago, getting somebody
those children. And what was even worse than that was
that up that mother of the child that was doing
the jumping, putting her child online and giving that phony
apology and making excuses for her child doing what she did.
Speaker 17 (12:18):
That's disgusting.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
Your child is wrong, and just because it's your child
don't make it right. I got kids too, and if
my children did something like that, they would have hell
to pay with me.
Speaker 17 (12:26):
Because it's wrong.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
So that's what.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
I wanted to get out of my chest. Hold your
kids accountable, Raise these kids right, teach them to keep
their hands, say stuff, use they word. There's no reason
to do nothing like that. That lady was a sick
woman with her kids, like I couldn't believe what I
saw it was.
Speaker 17 (12:42):
It was it literally.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
Broke my heart to see children behave in that way.
Speaker 17 (12:46):
It's disgusting.
Speaker 6 (12:47):
I agree, And I don't understand how the police ain't
made no rush yet when you got people out there
with videos apologizing like that's a confession right there.
Speaker 5 (12:54):
If you're gonna a lot apologizing.
Speaker 17 (12:56):
It don't make no sense.
Speaker 7 (12:58):
Get it off your chest eight hundred one. If you
need to vin hit us up now, it's the Breakfast Club.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
Good morning.
Speaker 9 (13:06):
I'm telling you, I'm telling what's doing.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
This is your time to get it off your chest,
whether you're mad or blessed.
Speaker 5 (13:15):
Eight hundred five eight five one five one.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
We want to hear from you on the breakfast class.
Speaker 5 (13:20):
Hello. Who's this yo?
Speaker 19 (13:22):
Good morning, Good morning. It's Yogi calling it from Northbrook City.
Speaker 5 (13:26):
Yogi, Yogy, Salute the north.
Speaker 19 (13:29):
Hey Charlotte, what's up?
Speaker 5 (13:30):
Man?
Speaker 19 (13:30):
I came out to your Mental Health XPO you had
out there.
Speaker 5 (13:34):
Brother, I have my son with me. Thank you man.
Speaker 19 (13:37):
All right, shout out also, Jess, it's up. Shout out
to you. Still the envy broma. Catch one of your uh,
your car shows, yo, But I just wanted to get
it out of my chest. I ain't got nothing much
going on this morning. I'm looking up a truck driver.
But I was listening at the Uncle Charlotte big enough
this jig. Paul and Anthony Joshua will fight. I just
(13:58):
don't really feel like it's gonna be a real fight
because I'm gonna.
Speaker 5 (14:01):
All though his fights.
Speaker 19 (14:02):
He throw his rig basically, Bro, like you gonna tell
me you think he can step in the ring with
Anthony Joshua and not get put to sleep in the
first ride.
Speaker 5 (14:10):
No, No, I think. I think.
Speaker 6 (14:11):
I think AJ go on toy with his food the
first round and AJ gonna knock him out in the
second round. Anything else other than a complete go to
sleep that night, then I'm gonna start having to be like,
all right, these fights is a little bit of range,
because ain't no way.
Speaker 5 (14:23):
Bro.
Speaker 19 (14:24):
Let me ask you one question, though, you remember he
saw Tyson right when he for Mike Yep. Before that fight,
Mike Is posted videos to him far and hitting the
heavy bag, hitting the mix, and it looked like he
can like take down like a car. He ain't throwing
out one of those shots that Jake Faul and tire fight.
He ain't throw nothing hard. Might he falls, he ain't
throw nothing at him? Freezy the way he but hitting
(14:47):
the bag.
Speaker 6 (14:48):
But the difference between Mike Tyson and Anthony Joshua and
Anthony Joshua is still an active fighter now, who's relatively young,
who has a lot of plans for twenty twenty six.
Speaker 5 (14:56):
AJ ain't gonna go in there and play itself.
Speaker 19 (14:58):
Bro.
Speaker 5 (14:58):
I think Jay, I think Jake Paul going to see it.
Speaker 19 (15:00):
But don't forget. Don't forget, y'all, despite means nothing. Don't
put a blimits on his record. Whether he wouldn't lose
your life don't matter that.
Speaker 6 (15:07):
No, we need the streets, need a body. Jake Paul
going to sleep. I'm telling you, I don't think a
j and Eddie Hearns are going to play the fixed
arrange game.
Speaker 5 (15:16):
I don't think they're gonna do that, man. But we're
gonna see.
Speaker 19 (15:19):
We're gonna see. Man. Y'all have a good weekend, y'all say.
Speaker 4 (15:21):
Safe, get it off your chest. Eight hundred five A
five one oh five one straight from the Brandy Monica.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
To Hey, good morning, y'all.
Speaker 5 (15:33):
Did you go back to No, we were supposed.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
To, but it didn't happen. They never came on and
got me.
Speaker 5 (15:38):
Ok.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
Yeah, but where was ray J?
Speaker 5 (15:43):
Will last night?
Speaker 1 (15:44):
That y J was not.
Speaker 20 (15:47):
I waited to the very last moment til the lights
came on because I was looking for him. The show
was It started at eight, and it was very long time.
But I mean, I've been reaching out for some man
since I even called ray J. So we're gonna have
a conversation as bomb.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
No, he didn't. I thought he would be up there.
Speaker 5 (16:02):
Me and ray was talking all day yesterday night.
Speaker 20 (16:04):
He was still here in New York. I was literally
watching him on stream. He was supposed to pop up.
But the concert was great. We're gonna break it down,
get into some of the there's been so much new
circulating out of this concert.
Speaker 5 (16:12):
Y'all be crazy.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
Where is ray J? What's happening with y'avrol. We're gonna
talk about it.
Speaker 4 (16:16):
All right, we'll get into that. Next to the Breakfast
Club in the morning morning everybody's DJ, v Jess Hilirie
and Charlamagne the Guy.
Speaker 7 (16:22):
We are the Breakfast Club. Let's get to the latest
with Lauren. Lauren be coming a straight fast man.
Speaker 1 (16:29):
She gets them, somebody that knows, somebody to detail. I'm
a home girl that knows a little bit about everything, and.
Speaker 5 (16:35):
She'd be having the latest on you. The latest with
Lauren la Rosa. Sometimes you have fact, sometimes you have details.
Sometimes you have a little bit of everything. It's the
latest on the Breakfast Club.
Speaker 20 (16:48):
Yes, so last night we got to go to the
Brandy and monicatur Jess, you left before they did.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
The boys mind. I know I was looking for you,
but I should have jumped up there with jobs mine
with you.
Speaker 9 (17:00):
I know, No, I know I would do that. What
if we wouldn't have disrespected them legends like that?
Speaker 20 (17:04):
What if they would have stopped and been like, Lauren, yes,
we need y'all up here for this?
Speaker 1 (17:09):
What I ran up there? Yeah?
Speaker 20 (17:12):
So the concert was fire last night. Brandy and Monica
sold out the Barclay. Let's take a listen to them
celebrating that.
Speaker 8 (17:19):
Thank you for joining us for sold out, Like, yes.
Speaker 5 (17:32):
You tell me that's Brandy.
Speaker 21 (17:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 20 (17:42):
I think a lot of people don't realize because I
saw people reacting in the stadium or the arena when
Brandy like she has personality. Yeah, I think people don't
know that she's funny very much so yeah, very much
so so. Yeah, that was them celebrating the fact that
they sold out. The Barclay's capacity is nineteen thousand people.
There were so many people there. Brandy did Full Moon
(18:03):
sitting up in my room almost doesn't count.
Speaker 1 (18:05):
Have you ever just brand what about us?
Speaker 6 (18:07):
Yes?
Speaker 9 (18:08):
And I was I was like, look, I bet you
don't know the song? Like yo, I knew every song,
every lyric, everything.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
Yeah, that's my girl.
Speaker 20 (18:15):
I think it's it's amazing to see, uh, like like
real fans of people come out the shows because every
singer from Kelly Rolling to Brandy to Monica could literally
stop the music and they were singing word real word.
Monica did so gone just one of them days. Angel,
Angel of Mine, like of course she ran through all
of her hits and.
Speaker 5 (18:34):
Of course we didn't bring out Uh.
Speaker 20 (18:35):
They brought out a ton of people. So they brought
out Sierra. We have Sierra.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
It was so wild.
Speaker 9 (18:44):
She would have thought that we was in Atlanta because
you know, she from Atlanta. So the way Brooklyn had
went up for her, the whole Barclays was was like wow.
Speaker 20 (18:51):
And that was Monica's thing. She was bringing out people
from her hometown. But Monica also brought out Max B.
Let's say a listen to Max B.
Speaker 5 (19:00):
I didn't see them really react to Max B like that,
but I think it's because.
Speaker 6 (19:03):
You know, just a new generation and you know, he
don't have huge records.
Speaker 5 (19:07):
Nobody know he had dope underground records.
Speaker 4 (19:10):
Not only that, but that's not the same era like
Brandy Monica's nineties to early two thousands.
Speaker 5 (19:15):
He was a little.
Speaker 9 (19:17):
Monica love a jail, you know what I mean. She
had to bring him out like, hey, be home, y'all
on a.
Speaker 6 (19:23):
Celebrity and you need like big crossover records to come
out on the show like that. Yeah, I was come
out with big tape underground.
Speaker 20 (19:29):
I was like, he should have did a different song
because the crowd wasn't reacting to him much.
Speaker 5 (19:32):
He could.
Speaker 20 (19:33):
They were as much as they could, but that they
didn't know. But I'm like, what song would he have
done that that crowd would have known.
Speaker 1 (19:38):
I don't know.
Speaker 9 (19:38):
He just came upside like, Yo, I'm home, make some
noise y'all with that, and then went back.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
That would have been cool to you.
Speaker 20 (19:43):
Well, they brought out our guy Tyree Let's take he
was so r and B last night.
Speaker 5 (19:48):
He was Tyree was so R and B last night.
What else was he supposed to be?
Speaker 22 (19:51):
Right?
Speaker 1 (19:51):
Because when I see him and I see.
Speaker 20 (19:54):
Him, when I see Tyree up here, he's like, I
don't know, he's like in this like mode of like
he's like funny, he's so serious.
Speaker 7 (20:01):
It's like.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
I know that.
Speaker 20 (20:04):
But that was my first time seeing him in concert,
so to see him he had like fly he threw
Jess a flower when he saw us, he stopped and yeah,
gave Jesse a flower.
Speaker 1 (20:12):
But I don't know, to see him.
Speaker 20 (20:14):
Actually in his like Tyres' singer bag versus being up
here and crying and stuff, it was a different experience.
Speaker 5 (20:21):
That's crazy.
Speaker 20 (20:23):
One time, I'm just saying it being emotional. What I'm
trying to thats no, that's not true. I didn't forget
he could sing. What I'm saying is is it was
nice to just see him being celebrated and actually been
in his showmanship back versus being up here and having
to explained everything.
Speaker 7 (20:38):
He performs every weekend.
Speaker 20 (20:39):
I don't know if you know that I've never seen
I've never seen him in show. So it's great to
see him in his element.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
Know that he was Brittany. I mean Brittany. He was
Brandy's best friend. I didn't know that he did. Yeah,
he's my best friend. Y'all over than ray J.
Speaker 9 (20:50):
Indian brot him ou because Nember, everybody thought that he
was gonna bring out J. What she said because this
was the song right after she performed whenever I'm that, Yeah.
Speaker 20 (20:57):
She said, I'm bringing up my friend, bring my best
friend exactly.
Speaker 5 (21:02):
Wait a minute with Little Kim.
Speaker 20 (21:04):
And I was told yesterday that ray J was supposed
to be there with Little Kim, and I know for
a fact that it was in conversation, it was in play.
I don't know why ray J didn't come to the stage.
I called ray J to see why he didn't come.
I reached out to where I can just.
Speaker 1 (21:18):
Call anybody, because why yo, that's what you should have called.
Speaker 8 (21:26):
There.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
She was at the back desk.
Speaker 20 (21:27):
Okay, yeah, your saw that she was selling full Moon
T shirt.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
Yeah, I was looking for ray J.
Speaker 20 (21:38):
I literally stayed until the lights turned throne because I'm like, no,
ray J, Like I really wanted to see y J
perform as well.
Speaker 1 (21:42):
Too, but it didn't happen.
Speaker 20 (21:44):
But from what I was told, they've been having conversations
about this for almost like two weeks now, so I
don't know exactly what happened, but maybe this will happen
when people see them at the tonight at the Prudential
Center in Newark. I'm told that that's less than two percent.
There's less than two percent tickets left, so that's almost.
Speaker 4 (22:01):
I'm sure to set out. Yeah, everybody was asking me
for tickets for this weekend. When I say, I got
so many calls, you got tickets? You got any tickets? Caul,
you give me tickets for this whole Weekendah yeah, So
I think that tonight, then Prudential in Saturday.
Speaker 7 (22:12):
They in Atlantic City.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
When I say, I just want to just give these
ladies big ups, big shatouts.
Speaker 9 (22:18):
Right, Monica and Brandy, they were sexy, all covered up
like they ain't show no skin. I ain't show not
a piece of her neck. But she was still sexy,
multiple airs.
Speaker 5 (22:28):
Still, what about the good diver of chocolate? Godess, Kelly roll.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
What that's lifting? That's all the skin we needed?
Speaker 5 (22:33):
Baby?
Speaker 20 (22:34):
She let me tell y'all something, show how we got
some Kelly Brolan, Let's play and then I'll talk about
walking into Kelly Brolan, go.
Speaker 5 (22:40):
Ahead, Kelly, be out there catching bodies. No.
Speaker 20 (22:42):
When I was walking in, she was doing Dilemma and
she stopped and she was like, I'm gonna let y'all
sing it. When I say everybody, and I thought I
was recorded. Maybe I was just so amazed I wasn't
even recorded. That was a number one record, and oh
my god, another that was.
Speaker 5 (22:57):
The number one record in the world.
Speaker 20 (22:59):
You know how you always say to us, y'all don't
even understand real celebrity, y'all don't.
Speaker 1 (23:02):
Last night, I was like, right.
Speaker 5 (23:04):
That's a hit record.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
Yes, oh my god. The found of arena was crazy.
Speaker 20 (23:09):
And to close out real quick, I do want to
play Brandy and Monica doing the Boy is Mine because
another thing that I was not amazed by because it's
Brandy and Monica, But I'm like, wow, I ain't never
seen this in person, like this.
Speaker 9 (23:19):
They really be saying and singing, no backtrack, no nothing.
Let's take a listen to Brandy and Monica, like come on.
Speaker 20 (23:25):
Brandy posted us on her Instagram story, yes, or the
picture when her.
Speaker 1 (23:30):
Daughter and Rey J were ago.
Speaker 6 (23:34):
I'm glad that y'all got the witness a night of
real talent, people with actual God given gifts, and they
even making money off their God given gifts for almost
three decades.
Speaker 1 (23:44):
Yes, and I think it's so fire too, because did
you see.
Speaker 19 (23:50):
That?
Speaker 20 (23:50):
Means I'm one step closer to playing Brandy in whatever
series about her life.
Speaker 1 (23:55):
Oh, yes, three doesn't matter. She goes through ages in
her life. Yeah, don't do that.
Speaker 7 (24:01):
But yes, I was growing.
Speaker 20 (24:04):
She has to be grown at some point in the movie.
But yes, the concept was fired. It was amazing to
see them in person and see everybody in our.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
Clost right, Oh my god. Yeah, it's the best seat.
Speaker 20 (24:13):
Shout out to everybody that took care of us. List night,
everybody that we saw too. Yeah, we had a good time.
Speaker 5 (24:17):
All right.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
Well, last the latest with Lauren. We're gonna get on
to Kelly Rowland dilemma.
Speaker 5 (24:22):
Why not? What is Nelly? Nelly?
Speaker 1 (24:23):
Yeah, Nelly and Kelly. It's the Breakfastlubve come on morning.
Speaker 4 (24:26):
Everybody's DJ, Envy, Jess, Hilarry, Charlamagne the Guy. We are
to Breakfast Club. Let's get back in some front page
news now. On Thursday night football, the Texas beat the
Buffalo Bills twenty three nineteen.
Speaker 5 (24:38):
What's up?
Speaker 22 (24:38):
To me.
Speaker 12 (24:39):
Good morning, MV Jess Charlamage. How y'all doing this morning?
Speaker 19 (24:41):
Hey?
Speaker 12 (24:42):
Maybe good morning?
Speaker 5 (24:43):
Okay.
Speaker 11 (24:43):
So we start this hour in New York City where
Mayor alegs Aron Mondomnie he is headed to the White
House this morning for a meeting with President Trump. At
a press conference yesterday, he said the conversation will focus
on both issues, on an issue that both men campaigned on,
making life.
Speaker 12 (24:58):
More affordable for New Yorkers. Let's listen to that.
Speaker 14 (25:01):
I know that for tens of thousands of New Yorkers,
this meeting is between two very different candidates who they
voted for for the same reason. They wanted a leader
who would take on the cost of living crisis that
makes it impossible for working people to afford living in
the city. My team reached out to the White House
to set up this meeting because I will work with
anyone to make life more affordable for the more than
(25:24):
eight and a half million people who call the city home.
I have many disagreements with the President. I believe that
we should be relentless and pursue all avenues and all
meetings that could make our city affordable for every single
New Yorker. I intend to make it clear to President
Trump that I will work with him on any agenda
that benefits New Yorkers. If an agenda hurts New Yorkers,
(25:46):
I will also be the first to say something.
Speaker 6 (25:48):
Anyone who thought Zorn wasn't going to attempt to work
with President Trump, then they don't understand politics. But it's
also nuts that Zoron Mundani thinks that he can work
with President Trump. I don't know why Democrats continue to
make this miss take in regards to Republicas. I get
that you're supposed to do this, but this isn't the
Republican party that your grandparents grew up on.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
OK.
Speaker 7 (26:07):
Crazy Trump be like, Hey, that communist wants to come
sit with me. I don't know.
Speaker 6 (26:12):
But just going back to the same thing what I'm
saying with the government shut down, it's just like, Yo,
you're really going to try to hold out knowing that
these people are not going to negotiate with you, knowing
that they're not going to work with you in good
faith in any way, shape or form. For Zoran to
even talk like he believes Donald Trump is going to
work with him in good faith is insanity. It's just insane.
But whatever, it's politics as usual. Zoran Mandani is a politician. Okay,
(26:33):
He's not your savior. He's a politician, and you know,
hopefully he gets some stuff done well.
Speaker 12 (26:38):
To your point.
Speaker 11 (26:39):
In the about the word communists, the White House says
that this meeting is proof that the President will sit
down with anyone.
Speaker 12 (26:45):
Caroline Lovitt, she had some choice words about this meeting.
Let's listen to a little bit of that.
Speaker 16 (26:49):
It speaks volumes that we have a communist coming to
the White House, because that's who the Democrat Party elected
as the mayor of the largest city in the country.
I think it's very telling, But I also think it's
speaks to the fact that President Trump is willing to
meet with anyone and talk to anyone and to try
to do what's right on behalf of the American people,
whether they live in Blue states or red states.
Speaker 6 (27:11):
Listen how they talking about him calling them communists, calling
them a communists with Zorron is like, I will work
on the President with any agenda. Black like, why do
they still have faith in these people.
Speaker 5 (27:20):
If I was in by to the Zoran, I.
Speaker 6 (27:22):
Would say, I think it's pointless for you to meet
with President Trump at this time he's going to use
you for photo ops and he just wants you to
kiss the ring. You have a ground swell of grassroots
supporters that will be extremely disappointed if you meet with him,
and there's absolutely nothing to gain from such a move
right now.
Speaker 11 (27:35):
Well, in Todas Charlamayne, he is expected to push for
key projects like that sixty million gateway tunnel in the
Second Avenue subway. He's going to argue that New York's
economy is crucial to the country as a whole. But
also to your point, Trump has also threatened to deport
him even though he is a United States right and
he's also said that he.
Speaker 12 (27:55):
Will cut federal funding if he won.
Speaker 5 (27:57):
So you know, so that's.
Speaker 6 (27:59):
Why politicians can't be doing all the tough talk, because
you know, you still got to go through the White House.
I just I don't get it. Man's just like democrats
learn nothing during the government shutdown. The one thing that
they should have learned is you don't and can't negotiate
with this administration. You only end up hurting yourself in
your constituents. Because I saw mad people mad that Zoran
(28:21):
is going to meet with the President of the day.
But I'm like, clearly all don't understand politics then, but
this is just politics as usual. He has no choice.
Speaker 11 (28:28):
Yeah, So we expect to see more headlines coming from
that meeting later on today, and this weekend is expected
to be one of the biggest Thanksgiving travel weekends of
the year.
Speaker 12 (28:39):
Nearly thirty million people are expected to fly.
Speaker 11 (28:42):
So if you are bringing food through TSA, I didn't
know this was a thing, but people are bringing food
through TSA, prompting TSA to put out its annual holiday
guidance to help you get through security a little faster.
So here are a few Thanksgiving dudes, and don't if
you're traveling. They're saying that you do. You can bring
your pie, so if you whatever pie you like, pumpkin
(29:02):
sweet potato pie, they're solid, so you can bring those
on same for like mac and cheese, stuffing.
Speaker 12 (29:08):
And things like that. But don't bring your gravy through security.
Speaker 11 (29:11):
Because it counts as a liquid, so does cranberry sauce,
both the gelled kind and the canned kind. They said
that you can bring frozen items because it's rock solid.
Frozen foods can go through security, but they must be
totally frozen. If they're melting TSA, we'll treat them like
a liquid. And they said that don't fight TSA about
what counts as a liquid.
Speaker 12 (29:31):
Their will is simple.
Speaker 11 (29:31):
If you can spill it, spread it, spray it, pump it,
or pour it, it needs to go in your checked bag.
Speaker 12 (29:37):
They said, to be smart about traveling with food.
Speaker 11 (29:39):
They said that messy bags and loose containers they do
slow down the line.
Speaker 12 (29:44):
Do show up early.
Speaker 11 (29:45):
Because Thanksgiving is one of their busiest travel days. They're
expecting record breaking travel volumes between now and Sunday, so
apparently this is an annual list if they do put out,
because people tend to bring so many different items through
the TSA security line that it backs it up. I
didn't know that people traveled with pre made food, But
(30:06):
did you guys know this?
Speaker 6 (30:07):
Did you hear this before? I've seen people travel with
like the roster. One time when I was in South Carolina,
and this was about two thousand and twenty, maybe twenty nineteen,
twenty and twenty, and I was down there with Madame
Vice President Kamala Harris because she had unveiled her mental
health plan and she had got some Calli Greens from
(30:27):
South Carolina, and she flew back.
Speaker 5 (30:29):
She flew through the airport with and I was there with.
Speaker 23 (30:32):
Jay Moore and Charlemagne God and I was about to
head out of town to meet my family and cook
for Thanksgiving. But where I was going, I knew I
was not going to be able to find the kind of.
Speaker 1 (30:45):
Greens there that I could get here.
Speaker 23 (30:48):
And so yes, that was me in my suit and
heels walking through Charleston International Airport carrying two big plastic
bags full of fresh South.
Speaker 5 (31:01):
Carolina collar greens.
Speaker 24 (31:03):
True story.
Speaker 23 (31:05):
And yes, as I walked on the plane, there were
a few people who gave me the look and the nod.
Speaker 6 (31:14):
And she asked me when she looked crazy walking through
the airport with the would you tell her no, Mike
keV No, you be good.
Speaker 4 (31:22):
Yeah, I wouldn't want cook food that was traveling, not
that that's X ray machine.
Speaker 9 (31:28):
Yeah, And then they got a tested know that they
don't change their gloves. And if you hear that early,
if you get there that early, you could get to
my house and cook it.
Speaker 5 (31:35):
But that's the only thing I would say.
Speaker 6 (31:36):
That's why I brought up that story, because like you know,
she was going back to where California. So if you're
in the South. Yeah, you know what I'm saying. You're
gonna get you some fresh greens. They ain't got no
fresh greens in California, so like stuff like that makes sense.
But don't travel with nothing that we can get right here. Now,
if I could go right.
Speaker 5 (31:53):
Up the street to the grocery store to get it,
we get it when you get here. You don't got
to do all.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
That, right, that's crazy.
Speaker 12 (31:58):
Yeah, Well, there you have it.
Speaker 11 (31:59):
Those are your travel news and don't so if you're
headed to the airport, save yourself some time and listen
to some of those, and that is your front page news.
Speaker 12 (32:07):

B Money podcast, and we're gonna talk to them next.
Speaker 7 (32:24):
You don't go anywhere.
Speaker 5 (32:25):
It's the Breakfast Club.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
Good morning morning everybody.
Speaker 4 (32:27):
It's DJ n V, Jess Hilarious, Charlamagne the Guy.
Speaker 7 (32:30):
We are the Breakfast Club.
Speaker 4 (32:32):
Laurla Rose is here with us as well, we got

Speaker 7 (32:34):
Guests in the Belty.
Speaker 4 (32:35):
Yes, indeed you have Jane Valentine and Alicia Keys, Pops,
ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 5 (32:42):
Ladies and gentlemen. I David, but I'm it's you know
what I'm saying, Dad on Broadway.
Speaker 2 (32:56):
Yeah, I play a twenty twenty something, almost thirty year old.
Speaker 9 (33:00):
But it's phenomenal job. By the way, if you see that,
you've got to go see him. Now you're back on
Broadway for how long? I actually took the whole family
to go see it. But how long are you back?
Speaker 2 (33:08):
It was originally two weeks, but then I added a weekend,
so it was what like twenty two shows?
Speaker 5 (33:15):
So I'm here to the thirty.
Speaker 4 (33:17):
It's a perfect Christmas gift if you want to take
something for Christmas, specially your parents or definitely.
Speaker 7 (33:22):
A phenomenal job. He does a phenomenal job.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
I love the show.
Speaker 5 (33:27):
That's that's when walked in Charlamagne. You getting old? You
should use my product, my kit, my kid. Yeah, and
I'm like, rewind the time, wind the time. Then you
say you got yeah, let me go. You got to
have hair? Oh you want to you want to do?
Speaker 2 (33:44):
You want to see my hand crazy, that's crazy.
Speaker 5 (33:50):
No hell on your face.
Speaker 1 (33:50):
I don't know what you're talking.
Speaker 5 (33:51):
About it, let's keep it.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
Oh, that's a stocking cat for all those I used
to cutting off the foot of the stock.
Speaker 5 (34:01):
And I'm a school.
Speaker 1 (34:05):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
One day I was asking to change my picture because
the picture on the box looks like they put a
crackhead filter on me. And I said, I said, Joe,
that's not how I look. I never looked like that.
Somebody hated on me. Can you please change the picture.
I'm gonna change the picture for you fans. I promise,
I'm gonna change the picture. We went through months and
(34:29):
months and months of please.
Speaker 5 (34:31):
Change the picture.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
Finally I'm like, Joe, this is getting disrespect he's getting disrespectful,
and that next thing I know, I'm getting the letter
in the mail you will not be renewed.
Speaker 5 (34:47):
And never changed the picture. Look the.
Speaker 1 (34:56):
Inventory.
Speaker 5 (34:58):
So I think they kicked me out out and brought
Norie in.
Speaker 7 (35:03):
You and already got the same.
Speaker 5 (35:04):
I guess color. We don't have to say nothing. On
the next episode of Joe and Jada, we find out
why Tank actually got.
Speaker 1 (35:14):
You ain't called him back and said.
Speaker 5 (35:16):
No, no, Joe ain't hitting me back.
Speaker 4 (35:19):
Damn damn tank New York, New York, right, Papa pull
up on him?
Speaker 5 (35:27):
You know who else in New York? Ray J and
Rage said he won't smoke. Man, can't mess with me. Train.
It's gonna take me nine months.
Speaker 6 (35:37):
What do you think begins?
Speaker 5 (35:44):
That's a fact.
Speaker 9 (35:46):
Yes, he can be in the way singing him pool
out doing pool.
Speaker 5 (35:55):
He said, you can't mess with him if he trained,
but it's gonna take him nine months. Only didn't spec.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
I guess, but guess what he said? I love you,
he loves He don't love about I said, I'm J
can do no wrong.
Speaker 6 (36:16):
So funny because he said it, but then he thought
about it like it's gonna take me not much.
Speaker 5 (36:20):
I love.
Speaker 2 (36:21):
Here's the thing about ray J is that nobody's really
paying attention to He's smart. He's smart, and he has
a diversified portfolio.
Speaker 5 (36:32):
I get it. You.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
Some people may be able to sing better than him,
some people may may be able to outperform him, whatever,
but you're not going to beat him in terms of
lasting and being in a relevant conversation.
Speaker 5 (36:46):
As long as he's been in period.
Speaker 6 (36:48):
It's connected to everything, everything from music, everything to making
social life.
Speaker 5 (36:55):
Social I said that this morning. He's what I call
an anchor being. In comic book they call it an
anchor being. He's an anchor bean to tech. He's in tech.
That didn't break.
Speaker 19 (37:10):
They did.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
So speak if he.
Speaker 20 (37:19):
If J stopped like doing all the things he's doing
and really focus on his voice, we would hear a
better singer of a ray J.
Speaker 1 (37:26):
Yeah, Braandy.
Speaker 5 (37:32):
Something. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
But that was a conversation. It was him versus Mario,
and people are like he.
Speaker 2 (37:38):
In the beginning of Y J was going there and
then I just think that he just I think he
was just happier doing more like to be a singer.
Singer like you really got a hyper focus on singing,
and other things suffer as a result.
Speaker 5 (37:53):
Of that, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (37:58):
A lot of those guys are good listen good singers,
got it, but they're not. They can't out entertain ray J.
That's true. They can't the crowd.
Speaker 5 (38:10):
You know.
Speaker 2 (38:13):
I don't know what, what's what's the what's the one?
Speaker 5 (38:17):
I don't know what's going on, But it felt like
it was a panther on the inside of that.
Speaker 2 (38:23):
I don't know what and guess what we were talking about.
I don't care who performed well at that one music festival.
Guess who we were talking about.
Speaker 6 (38:34):
I wanted to ask both of you all a question,
y'all aught the host of the R and B Money podcast,
And I was thinking about this with the conversation that
Mario and Cam Newton was having. Is there a proper
R and B etiquette? Should other R and B singers
talk about who can and can't sing?
Speaker 5 (38:50):
I believe you can. You can say what you feel.
That's you know.
Speaker 25 (38:54):
I don't tell nobody what they can say or how
they can feel about anyone else.
Speaker 6 (38:58):
And music is subject, you know what I'm saying. Like
and Tankles tell you I'm the guy who calls him, I'm.
Speaker 25 (39:04):
Like, have you heard this song? And it might be
the whole song might be off key. I'm like, Jamino, Right,
it's about how music make you feel. If we're gonna
go back into who's the greatest singers, then we just
got to go to church. And we all know, outside
of Kurt Franklin and the ORLANDA Adams, it ain't a
whole bunch of money.
Speaker 5 (39:25):
On that side of it.
Speaker 25 (39:26):
So if we're talking about making money and making popular music,
the voice is subjective and can can people really get
what they're trying to get out of the song we're
talking about?
Speaker 5 (39:38):
What's the song we were just listening to in the back.
Speaker 25 (39:44):
If that would have been like a gospel style, if
that had been a gospel.
Speaker 5 (39:49):
Sound singer, would it wouldn't have worked?
Speaker 2 (39:51):
Mark Morrison return to Mac. No, no good singer could.
It's no elevated singer could have sag that it had
to be that.
Speaker 5 (39:58):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 25 (39:58):
It's like it's a when we talk about in popular music,
it's it's stylized. So when you have the Okay, who's
gonna come out here and flat foot sing for each other?
Speaker 5 (40:09):
We don't. We don't really have it.
Speaker 25 (40:10):
So I mean you can you can say it and
oh this person is better singer and that person better singer.
Speaker 5 (40:15):
But then it's like who sells the most records?
Speaker 6 (40:18):
So I put a list right now and I said, Tank,
who can really sing? You would play that game? I
already see where this is going.
Speaker 5 (40:25):
I don't. I can't.
Speaker 2 (40:27):
You know what I'm saying because my voice means so
much more. When when when these guys hear me say
something like if if if I didn't matter, if we
weren't the authority on all things R and B if
I wasn't a guy who's written and produced and sat
down and had conversations with all these guys about music
(40:48):
and life and how you know this is what you
need to do to do this and do that. Like,
I'm in a place where I can't even I can't
even do that. I gotta encourage all of them, because
I inspire all of them, you know what I mean.
So I gotta tell you. I gotta tell you either
whatever you have, this is how. This is how you
frame that, do that, put that there, and then put
(41:08):
that sonic by this and then do That's the guy
I can be. So you know when you say, is
Mario allowed to do that?
Speaker 5 (41:14):
Mario can? He can't. Every right, I can't.
Speaker 4 (41:19):
So now let me ask you, when you have a
computer that can make that voice perfect, right I'm talking
about the AI young man, How does that make you
feel when somebody could type in the lyrics into a program,
push into and it comes out with this amazing song
with this amazing voice, and this person gets paid a
lot of money.
Speaker 25 (41:38):
I'm not mad at it. Why I'm not mad at
it because I just believe that we are constantly evolving
into something right if it's and it's just another form
of business. And I'm happy for a young girl out
of Memphis, Mississippi, where somewhere out there where she's from,
that was able to make a living off of it.
I'm never knocking anybody who figures out a way to
make a living.
Speaker 2 (41:57):
Does that hurt the craft, though, because but let's take it.
But let's take it back though, because we've got to
got to go back to the beginning. Because me, I
have albums, many albums, many songs with no auto tune. Now,
all of a sudden, I'm competing against singers who aren't
singers who can't necessarily hold that note, that can't necessarily
(42:20):
do that run that they can. They're not as technical
as I am, but the autotune is holding them up
and helping them almost sound as good as I sound. Technically.
We've been fighting against AI for a long time, Grammy
for absolutely absolutely And guess what I said, I don't
(42:45):
care what the playing field is.
Speaker 5 (42:47):
Let's play find out.
Speaker 6 (42:50):
I don't and I think it's a time and place
for autoto. I don't think all the two works in
the bedroom.
Speaker 2 (42:56):
I just I disagree with you because all you have.
It's not just I don't I don't t paying my
auto tune right, but I understand how to use the tool.
Speaker 1 (43:09):
And I also think, have you seen Tank perform life? Yes,
so I think once.
Speaker 20 (43:13):
We've seen you, I'm a live performer, we wouldn't even
think there would be.
Speaker 2 (43:17):
Anything because I don't need it, right, But I understand
the sonic behind it. I understand why it cuts through
and why what it does on radio and what it
does when it comes through your head, and I understand
sonically what that is. That's just me being an engineering
time rewind d.
Speaker 6 (43:39):
But I think it's something to being able to grab
a microphone anytime, anywhere.
Speaker 2 (43:43):
And it's just like and that's why it doesn't matter.
It's just another player in the game that we are
competing against. And it's enough space for everything.
Speaker 5 (43:52):
It's enough space.
Speaker 6 (43:53):
You had, Whitney Houston, you had what's what's uh American idol?
Jennifer No no, no, no, no no no, the one that
we be the Laker Dancer like you are acting like
people are acting like this is new where you don't
have one end to the other end.
Speaker 5 (44:13):
You're always going to have. But it's still a person.
Speaker 6 (44:15):
This ain't a person, but it was still assisted in
a video with a cat, a cartoon cat.
Speaker 2 (44:21):
Yeah it's different, and he was keep saying it's different,
but it's just today's version of it. And you gotta
understand we're not going back. So does that figure out
your prompts?
Speaker 4 (44:35):
You're an executive, right, yes? Would you either sign an
artist that you got to deal with makeup, hair, manager, security,
all that, or ai person that you ain't got to
deal with nothing.
Speaker 7 (44:45):
You cut a check and just let the money come.
Speaker 6 (44:47):
If you tell me that person you just said it's Kayline,
I'm taking Kaylane work. Tell me that person his scissor,
Simmon Walker, I'm taking.
Speaker 4 (44:57):
Most people want to invest that money to get to
where a scissor is.
Speaker 1 (45:00):
Won't take that.
Speaker 6 (45:01):
The real executive is going to see that. They're going
to see Victoria Monday. They're going to see her drive,
They're going to see how hard she goes in and oh,
this is going to connect.
Speaker 5 (45:12):
Because that's the other thing.
Speaker 6 (45:13):
Now, you also have to talk about how an artist
feels to people. An ar artist, you know, you're just like, Okay,
that's a video game. You like to play it a
little bit, But are you in love.
Speaker 5 (45:24):
With it like that? You know what I'm saying. So
the human aspect still kicks in when it comes to that.
Speaker 6 (45:30):
Oh I love this artist. These people love the artists
that I just named. They love Chris Brown, love Mario,
they love Ray J. You can't replace that.
Speaker 5 (45:41):
But I ain't matter if somebody getting they bread in
another way, you know, I mean, I'm not You know that.
Don't bother me.
Speaker 2 (45:48):
The labels are going to they're gonna sign AI, Yes
they are, and then they're gonna use some of that
AI money to take a chance on humans.
Speaker 7 (45:59):
How do you patent it?
Speaker 4 (46:00):
Because you're putting it into a system so yours could
sound exactly like hers.
Speaker 2 (46:04):
Well not, the're not gonna be able to do that.
So that's where it gets true everybody. Because the little
Barney thing that almost kind of sound like me and
and Sam Smith and and somebody else had a baby,
the little Bernie. I'm thinking about it. I'm thinking about
going to see that, you know what I'm saying, Like.
Speaker 5 (46:22):
Little Barnie.
Speaker 2 (46:23):
You ain't seen the Barney guys singing R and B
in the rain. Yeah, it's going around. Everybody can tagging
me and I'll show tell you. But I mean, once
you start trying to sound like people that already exist
and that that's when we start having in this ship.
Speaker 25 (46:37):
And I think that's that's probably in the works as well.
I mean, I got some homies that's trying to figure
out how to copyright all of that. And you know
what culture cultural, you know, cultural, I P and that
those type of things. So as in anything, they got
to figure it out, you know what I'm saying. You know,
we're all old enough to realize napster and and and
(46:58):
know what we went through during that time and seeing
the music business change, and they figured it out.
Speaker 5 (47:03):
I mean, they figured out another way to rob us again.
Speaker 6 (47:06):
But then you also figured out a way to give
opportunities to people who would have never had them.
Speaker 5 (47:11):
Yeah. Well, let's stay here for a saying.
Speaker 6 (47:12):
Y'all too have seen damn near every evolution of the
industry for the most part. What's the biggest lie the
industry ever sold?
Speaker 5 (47:19):
R and b artists.
Speaker 2 (47:20):
I don't think that there's a lot that they sold.
I think the truth about what happened to us was
never told. And I think we've had that conversation in
terms of what we ended up having to compete against
as male artists, against you know, rappers singing melody and
kind of replacing us in the chart space. Like we
weren't arnest about that conversation. It's like R and B died. No,
(47:42):
R and B didn't die. We're still here. But you're
just you're not giving us our spots. You're giving our spots.
You're letting bad singers sing songs, but you're penalizing good singers.
We're doing too much. Well, you singing Jen and Juice
on the podcast.
Speaker 5 (48:00):
Was nobody nobody? So you blame it on the rappers. No, no, no, no, no,
I blame it on economics. It was just math.
Speaker 8 (48:17):
Right.
Speaker 2 (48:17):
You know how much it took to make you know
what I'm saying, a Boys Too Men album? But you
know how much it took to make a Michael Jackson album. Yeah,
but then when you had that first hit, Come Come,
Come out of the basement of the Bronx or Harlem.
Speaker 5 (48:34):
You know what I'm saying, For two hundred.
Speaker 2 (48:36):
Dollars and some chicken and you sold two million of them,
there's a whoo, how do we get more of that?
Speaker 6 (48:45):
But I think with him and I figured out early
on too, was we could make R and B cost
effective and that like, we had a conversation with Atlantic Records,
I don't know, fifteen years ago and we and you know,
we were trying to figure out how to make it
makes sense.
Speaker 25 (49:01):
And him and I were like, yo, we got home studios.
We can write and produce it ourselves. If we want
to bring in our friends, we can, and we'll set
a certain number that we go up to so that
when we turn in this album, he makes.
Speaker 5 (49:13):
Money week one ye.
Speaker 6 (49:16):
And we went in Atlantic Records and we restructured our
deal and we was like, now we don't we don't
want that upfront.
Speaker 5 (49:22):
We're trying to make back end money.
Speaker 25 (49:24):
Now, we're trying to make, you know, money that's going
to last for our kids, for us later on in
our lives. So that upfront that you've been selling people
on which you know everybody knows, that's debate.
Speaker 5 (49:35):
You know what I mean? If I give you a dollar,
I gave you a dollar, so you owe me.
Speaker 6 (49:40):
We're saying, you know, we're saying, okay, well this is
what this is what it's gonna take for us to
make it. And then we proved that the business model
worked and we saw a lot of other people in
R and B start doing the same thing because before
it was very expensive to make R and B music.
Speaker 25 (49:54):
You need a studio for a month, two months that
you know the artist is on up to two three
days out of that time. We're like, no, no, we're
going to do this right, and we're gonna cut the
fat and we're going to really do real business. And
I think R and B had to figure out how
to do real business, and so we.
Speaker 5 (50:11):
Just we just bet on the back end. We just
created a different type of business so that we could
do we could do rapper business.
Speaker 7 (50:16):
Now, you said online that you believe that Usher is
a better singer than R.
Speaker 5 (50:20):
Kelly and people they did it a little bit. Ushers
technically a better vocalist than R. Kelly, way more tools.
Speaker 1 (50:29):
I thought you said you can't say that type of
stuff though.
Speaker 5 (50:37):
You growing up over there, like.
Speaker 2 (50:41):
These guys are these are my actual fears? Got these guys?
Are you know what I'm saying? R Kelly is O G.
Speaker 5 (50:49):
This is a different conversations like Jordan Lebron.
Speaker 2 (50:52):
It's like Jordan Lebron, Jordan's we're talking about guys at
the top of the stratosphere, Like we're having a different
conversation this boys.
Speaker 5 (51:00):
Man, I know you didn't say he was bad. You
wouldn't say he was bad technically technically okay, technically don't.
I don't even know what that means. Technically okay.
Speaker 2 (51:11):
Like like like I said, for instance, Climax mm hmm,
or Kelly couldn't have sayen Climax m not many people could.
Speaker 5 (51:19):
Have stayed climate.
Speaker 2 (51:21):
But where usher went from from false to natural without
hearing the transfer? Like that type of things special incredible.
It's like watching gymnastics. Everybody lands with some people stick,
you know what I'm saying. I'm singing everybody don't always stick.
Like if you listen to Climax, every note that he
(51:44):
sings on that record, he sticks.
Speaker 25 (51:45):
Like it's like this period, no move, ain't no step back,
you know what I mean. That's it's flawless.
Speaker 5 (51:55):
So I mean, but you know sticks sticks. Everything she's
singing on there, it just sticks. I mean, which why
you have so many singers trying to emulate it? Right?
Speaker 2 (52:07):
They're trying to because because now now certain certain singers
or certain songs are study material, it becomes that like R.
Kelly is a product of so many things when it
comes to study material. It was swag, it was content.
It was actually him, excuse me, him turning R and
(52:30):
B into this rap thing that was like wha, what
what what is this? The first R and B thug,
like what are we looking at? And not that R
and B cats ain't been tough, but he framed it
in a way to whereas like R and B singer
was like, I gotta get a chain.
Speaker 5 (52:50):
Our cass of corral. R Kelly made it so you
had to get as tims.
Speaker 2 (52:55):
Then he gave you balance with you know, half on
the baby with the silk pajamas on, you know, embar for.
Speaker 5 (53:00):
A wise man, and so I can do both.
Speaker 2 (53:02):
So when you talk about R Kelly, you talk about
it's so much that goes into that, but when you
just break it down to one thing vocally, that's just
that's just an elite.
Speaker 6 (53:11):
He's an elite vocalist from from from y'all vantage points?
Where is R and B right now? Are we in
a renaissance, a rebuild or some type of.
Speaker 5 (53:20):
Red're taking over? We're taking over?
Speaker 25 (53:23):
Ain't no reading nothing, Yes, we are taking over and
we are fully behind it. We're fully behind it. And
part of it mean he's still put our music, you
know what I mean. He got a great record control.
It's available now everywhere.
Speaker 20 (53:37):
R and B money by, so y'all are behind the
business of the record too.
Speaker 5 (53:44):
Yeah, they're the distributor. We're not playing you know what
I mean. And we got the R and B Awards coming.
If this man ever.
Speaker 25 (53:53):
Believe we believe it, we're you know, we're doing the
first awards at his backyard in one of his estates.
Speaker 5 (54:02):
Looking yeah, and I love this RBS taking over. We
started with J. He is there. Come on, J has
to acting like ray J.
Speaker 2 (54:13):
It can't last in the verses. I don't understand what's
going on. Wait a minute, you could be. I didn't
say over anybody. I said, let's not act like he
can't last any versus. He's a problem in the versus.
Speaker 5 (54:27):
And he is the problem versus. Did you know you
notice walked across the stage like eighty two times for
no reason because he can today can begins and that's listening.
(54:48):
You said, that's the truth. R and B is R
and B is here here heavy and to stay. We
are killing so many dope R and B artists.
Speaker 6 (54:57):
Yes, think about the tours that I can go out
man boys to men in new auditions, Tony Braxton shout
out to the b PC, they don't see listen, we
got black from everything.
Speaker 5 (55:08):
Out money, Kelly, Kelly Rolling, Kelly. You gotta say Kelly
Rolling one twelve, the young boy that just won American
Idol Roberts a singing face off. He on the boys
(55:32):
face off the B two K boys? Is that right now?
Speaker 22 (55:42):
Eric?
Speaker 5 (55:42):
And come on now cooking. They can't mess with us
cooking the mess. We're gonna figure out a way to
get these young boys on the road together.
Speaker 6 (55:50):
The two B y g S, the Jade Wars, the
Papa Jays.
Speaker 5 (55:56):
Papa Ja.
Speaker 25 (55:57):
It's time people don't want to have a sexy good time,
that's right, without feeling like it's gonna get violent.
Speaker 5 (56:03):
That's right.
Speaker 25 (56:04):
You sing what Leon Thomas said. I don't have a
song that would make y'all want to do this.
Speaker 5 (56:11):
Over the years, the R and B has been the
ones putting beats on people way more than rappers. I'm
just saying, when you come then, well there's no nobody
knew but Charlotte Man.
Speaker 6 (56:22):
Nobody was talking about it because we we handled ourselves
in a certain way, hey man, come back here real quick.
Speaker 5 (56:28):
Let's get this done, and then we're gonna walk out
there and sing my songs. That's it. We're gonna sing
our songs. You know what I'm saying. You know now
it's a little different. You know that you're pulling out
here and I don't have a song that requires a
fighting audience. I don't have a song.
Speaker 25 (56:43):
Yeah, like, but it's it's time for this, this good feeling,
you know what I mean. And everybody wants that especially,
It's just it happens with with society. When it is
wild in the world. You gotta have something that.
Speaker 5 (56:58):
Keep you calm. They're looking for refuge.
Speaker 1 (57:00):
Shout out the rote me to.
Speaker 5 (57:03):
That's the family this record and I got him on my.
Speaker 1 (57:08):
Yes y'all got a song? You featured him on R
and B Money that song, Oh my god Lojah?
Speaker 5 (57:13):
What is it?
Speaker 9 (57:14):
No is Lousia, y'all? Why can't I upload a video
to that song? You y'all hit on the country or
something like.
Speaker 1 (57:24):
I put I try to put that song, that's one
of my favorite songs on.
Speaker 5 (57:27):
I'm gonna fix that for you. Put on it.
Speaker 9 (57:29):
Yeah, y'all in this scene, I know you want to
do something to what you're gonna do to Romania service
put that on.
Speaker 2 (57:36):
You tried to and she tried to throw the globals.
They blocked me in Romania, one of my biggest markets.
Speaker 1 (57:44):
That yeah, shout out the rotin man.
Speaker 5 (57:46):
He's another We're back money podcast. We've got period black Heart.
Speaker 1 (57:51):
Appreciate you brothers for joining us.
Speaker 4 (57:53):
And if you haven't seen Tank on Broadway, go see
Kitchen on Broadway. Amazing show. If you look at for
something to get your your mama, your.
Speaker 9 (58:00):
Daddy or any Alicia Keys fan for Christmas, the holidays
for Christmas.
Speaker 5 (58:04):
Yes, yeah, tell the candles an R and B money
shot about.
Speaker 6 (58:08):
You know what I mean, We about to start putting
more merch on there and everything, you know, I mean,
we got to crack it.
Speaker 5 (58:12):
It's for marbles. You know what they be saying it
is so and organic and all that other stuff. Yeah, yeah,
all that stuff whatever they say, you know, doesn't smell good.
Speaker 1 (58:22):
My periodsme like you need to be in my house.
Thank you.
Speaker 5 (58:25):
I'm sending them to the to the show. Y'all will
all have them, you know, I mean that we.
Speaker 7 (58:30):
Can't burn it up here up now.
Speaker 1 (58:32):
Y'all got a lot of other candles up here, you're
gonna send it up.
Speaker 5 (58:35):
Where's the where's the envy water man in the back?
Speaker 11 (58:40):
You know what? D I?
Speaker 5 (58:43):
I got fired. We get fired.
Speaker 4 (58:47):
But when Walmart to stop doing the de I business
and they start doing the business, they took the black
a lot of the owners of black businesses out of
their stores, which makes it more difficult.
Speaker 1 (58:55):
So how did you get fired? They get They took
my water out.
Speaker 7 (58:59):
So all the war that we have now goes to
the other momm and pop stores.
Speaker 5 (59:02):
To make sure we were supported all things black. You
know what I'm saying?
Speaker 22 (59:11):
Did you have it?
Speaker 19 (59:12):
Ja?
Speaker 1 (59:12):

Speaker 4 (59:13):

little bit about everything.
Speaker 5 (59:24):
And she'd be having the latest on the big, the largest,
the latest with Lauren la Rossa.
Speaker 6 (59:30):
Sometimes you have facts, sometimes you have details, sometimes you
have a little bit everything.
Speaker 5 (59:34):
It's the latest on the Breakfast Club.
Speaker 20 (59:38):
Okay, So going back to the Brandy and Monica concert,
there were reports last night that Jarrul got into uh
that he got jumped.
Speaker 7 (59:46):
So got on You were there, so you didn't see
that though.
Speaker 20 (59:49):
Well, first of all, the reports weren't even that it
happened at the Brandy Monica concert. Jarrul cleared it up,
and then I found out more information and found out
that it happened at the concert. But the reports were
that he got jumped outside of a restaurant in New York.
But jah Rul got on X and cleared it up.
He said something. He said somebody did try to jump him.
It wasn't at the restaurant that was mentioned.
Speaker 1 (01:00:09):
Say less.
Speaker 20 (01:00:09):
He says he's currently or a few hours ago, he
was chilling smoking a joint, watching s VP with not
a scratch on him, with the laughing emoji. So from
what I was told, Uh, there was a scuffle that
went down backstage at the Brandon and Monica concer. Jah
Rul was actually supposed to come out and perform. They
would have went crazy, that crowd would Yeah, he was
supposed to come out and perform. On his way to
(01:00:30):
the stage is where this little scuffle went down. And
from what I understand, his camp isn't even really for
sure what caused the scuffle, like what where it came
from but it happened and he didn't perform, but he's okay,
we don't like to come outside.
Speaker 5 (01:00:44):
Like what exactly who the hell trying to scuffle with
growing as Jo?
Speaker 1 (01:00:48):
I don't know in the context, it was such a
good vibe. Surprised that.
Speaker 5 (01:00:54):
Yeah, I was so gone, come on and you pop off?
What the hell?
Speaker 1 (01:00:59):
Yeah, that's crazy, am I don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:01:01):
Sitting up in my room, comes on and you decided
you want to switch. That's weird, that's what you wanted.
Speaker 1 (01:01:06):
That was not the energy at the contet. But he
said he is fine, he's home and chilling.
Speaker 4 (01:01:11):
You can go to hospital, went straight home and all
that because they were saying he got beat up bad.
Speaker 1 (01:01:14):
That's false.
Speaker 20 (01:01:14):
No, And I did see a video, a short video
that is believed to be video of the scuffle. I
saw some blocks posting that. But you can't even really
see anything in that video, so literally just like shoving
and looks like security, Like you literally can't see much.
So it seems like whatever it was didn't even fully
get to happen, Thank God, so blown whatever.
Speaker 4 (01:01:31):
You know, Yeah, Jove wat like if that Joe would
have caught the weather for them, it would have been
a problem that would have been on it.
Speaker 1 (01:01:36):
I'm just like, why are you bringing that energy for
Brandy and Monica? Like that was energy?
Speaker 5 (01:01:41):
Another grown ass man over here with the wrong competition
his business.
Speaker 1 (01:01:45):
He wanted to make home.
Speaker 5 (01:01:49):
D Why did they fight? Why is anybody fighting at
forty one years old? Somebody business? That's my point. That's
we should be discouraging, not y'all y'all.
Speaker 1 (01:01:58):
I'm just saying he lived wight.
Speaker 7 (01:02:01):
Yeah, he ain't gonna just fall on the floor and
roll over.
Speaker 1 (01:02:03):
Like he's not fight back. Yeah yeah, yeah yeah.
Speaker 12 (01:02:07):
Well.
Speaker 20 (01:02:07):
In other news, Prize, so yesterday a federal judge sentenced
Prize to fourteen years in prison. So back in April
twenty twenty three, Prize was convicted of conspiracy, money laundering,
and illegal lobbying. This was after oh and then after
he does those fourteen years, he'll have to do three
years of probation.
Speaker 1 (01:02:26):
Now, this happened in the DC federal court.
Speaker 20 (01:02:29):
Now, the prosecutors wanted a hint, They wanted a couple
decades thrown at him, but his attorneys were asking for
three years. So his attorney said that they do plan
on appealing his convention, his conviction, and his sentence, and
he's supposed to turn himself in on January twenty seventh.
Now you also remember back in twenty nineteen, Prize was
indicted on four criminal counts for making illegal contributions to
(01:02:52):
Barack Obama's twenty twelve re election campaign, and then two
years after that, defense added more charges in relation to
the guy from Malaysia that they said sold all that
it was like four point five billion dollars. So he's
been going through some legal things, but here is where
it's landed. And he's been saying for a while that
this is not true. Doing anything illegal like this will
serve him no purpose.
Speaker 1 (01:03:11):
Why would he do this? So they plan on appealing.
Speaker 6 (01:03:13):
That's why be in the house away from people, because
I don't know why all these bad decisions being made.
Speaker 5 (01:03:18):
Is fifty three years old, he'll be sixty seven when
he comes home with.
Speaker 4 (01:03:22):
Good behavior by like sixty five, which is crazy.
Speaker 5 (01:03:26):
Them two stories. Just let me know why I be
in the house. It ain't nobody gonna make me feel
bad about being in that.
Speaker 1 (01:03:30):
You would have actually enjoyed Brandy and Monica. You would
have been like this, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:03:36):
You never think you get into an altercation of fighting
an R and B concert.
Speaker 1 (01:03:39):
It really wasn't that bad.
Speaker 5 (01:03:41):
Life, Like, all I had to do is look around
the room and count. It's more than fun. It's a
potential for anything. Okay, that's all I'm saying now.
Speaker 1 (01:03:55):
I was in there doing the Butterflies on the top
of my life.
Speaker 5 (01:03:58):

Speaker 1 (01:04:23):
I was in there with my man and playing with him.
Why do you mean playing with him?
Speaker 20 (01:04:26):
Tell you what, Man from the fifth Floor and were
not even that's not even the energy he's ever given
at all. Okay, it's a grown man with a grown
career and a lot of grown other things.
Speaker 1 (01:04:36):
All right, elated? Yeah, and a good one. You know
what great one posted? It's crazy.

because it does take a village to raise a child.
Speaker 5 (01:10:36):
And you know, I don't like that be fathers. I
don't know how any man can you know, have a
child and just ignore that child.
Speaker 21 (01:10:43):

she's a great kid.
Speaker 5 (01:10:56):

Speaker 5 (01:13:30):
Oh he practiced. Did I get it right?
Speaker 16 (01:13:32):
Nough?
Speaker 5 (01:13:33):
Good?
Speaker 22 (01:13:33):
But you emphasized the mond and I felt like it
was a little Italian coming out of here.
Speaker 5 (01:13:39):
Nice. There was no Italian in me. Were welcome?
Speaker 22 (01:13:42):
How are you feeling, brother, I'm good, I'm good. I
just got to New York City yesterday and I'm bouncing
around the city and talking to everybody about my special
coming out this week.
Speaker 5 (01:13:52):
It ain't right. It ain't right. Oh, Hulu and Hulu, yes,
just just uh. She hilarious.
Speaker 4 (01:13:59):
Larry's sold us that you were a funny comedian. She
loves you, but she couldn't be here. She's actually in La.
Speaker 7 (01:14:03):
She went to Mike App's birthday party.
Speaker 4 (01:14:04):
So she said to tell you to send love, okay,
And she also wanted me to say that why are
some of the best comedians from Chicago? She named a
bunch of them from Bernie Mack, Little Real, Hannibal Burroughs,
d Ray Davis, Airy Spear is God for you, Sherry
sheperd Robin Williams.
Speaker 22 (01:14:17):
What makes Chicago so Chicago? Living in Chicago, there's a
lot of sarcasm. There's a lot of making fun of
one another, but it's in good spirit. So I grew
up with. You know, even even now you go back
to Chicago, I'm getting ripped to shreds.
Speaker 5 (01:14:36):
You know, there's a lot of like.
Speaker 22 (01:14:38):
Uh, oh, were you on the Breakfast Club? What do
you think you're Specially there's a lot of that going
on in Chicago. So uh, I think you have a
tough skin growing up there, and uh and and sarcasm
and making people laugh is just kind of part of
the way we get through the winter.
Speaker 5 (01:14:56):
So uh, you you gotta have a sense of humor
to go through those winners.
Speaker 22 (01:15:02):
So yeah, I mean I've always been around funny people,
funny family. Growing up, just just at the dinner table
was just fun we had. We were either laughing or crying.
There was no in between. So for me, we always
used to kind of laugh to mask anything that was
happening that was getting serious. Even to this day, if
(01:15:23):
I feel somebody's gonna cry, I get uncomfortable and I'm like, okay,
we gotta get out.
Speaker 5 (01:15:28):
It is I that Yeah, So you don't go to
funerals at all. I go to funerals, but I tend
to you don't speak at them home, I don't. I
wouldn't mind that.
Speaker 22 (01:15:38):
Actually I would. If I were to speak at a funeral,
I would. I would definitely go to humor route. I'm
laughing at funerals just because I'm trying to break up
the seriousness of it all in the funeral.
Speaker 20 (01:15:53):
Would you be specifically joking about because your solid comedy
is so like you take like random regular things and
just like make it a joke, like things that I
wouldn't even think twice about because it's just naturally what
people do.
Speaker 22 (01:16:04):
Okay, So the last funeral I went to, I was
with my sister. It was sad, but I started looking
around the room and I said, be nice if there
was like a cocktail service here, something to like like
a like a beverage. You know, you're you're there, you're sad.
Be nice if somebody came up to you and said,
you need you need to you know, guess a wine
(01:16:24):
or something, and we just kind of start riffing off,
like I wanna be nice to have like like a
little food here and just make it a little bit
more of a lounge.
Speaker 5 (01:16:34):
Yeah, like a like all the funerals. If you knew
there was gonna.
Speaker 22 (01:16:39):
Be good food and some cocktails at a funeral once,
you'd be more prone to even attend the damn thing,
the repast.
Speaker 20 (01:16:47):
But by the repast, I mean you kind of are
at the point where you're hungry. So a lot of
the family issues that surround the funeral people don't care
about because they want to eat.
Speaker 5 (01:16:54):
Oh this is after in the actual funeral. Talking about
the wake with the body in the room, you got.
Speaker 1 (01:17:00):
Like three girlfriends that like we're trying to figure out
who was the one.
Speaker 7 (01:17:06):
To be Grandma had passed, she got two boyfriends.
Speaker 5 (01:17:12):
No, I do not.
Speaker 1 (01:17:14):
I don't. I don't.
Speaker 20 (01:17:15):
I've just been to a lot of funerals where there's
a lot of things that questioning you in the funeral,
trying to figure out what's going on.
Speaker 5 (01:17:21):
Okay, okay, I'm going to like a grandmother and uncle.
Speaker 22 (01:17:24):
I was thinking there's there's not like there's not anybody
really wondering what's going on outside of the person that died.
Speaker 4 (01:17:33):
She from Delaware. That's a little different.
Speaker 1 (01:17:38):
So there's anything off the table with jokes with you. Politics,
this is.
Speaker 5 (01:17:41):
I don't do politics.
Speaker 22 (01:17:42):
I don't think people want to hear that, especially when
they're coming out to a show. You're inundated all day
with with the right and the left and this, that
and the other thing. I want to give people a
departure from that. I don't want to be talking about
any politics. And I've always said whatever my fam is
doing is a lot funnier than whatever the president is doing,
(01:18:03):
So I kind of stick to my family. Trump is yeah,
I mean he's a funny. Some of the stuff that's
coming out of his mouth is extremely humorous. But I
just like leave that to people want to talk about politics.
For me, I just I talk about my family. I
talk about I got two kids, I'm going to parent
teacher conferences. It's it's I'm drawing from my own life
(01:18:25):
and I'm not really paying attention to anything else.
Speaker 6 (01:18:28):
I also see a lot of exaggerated like frustration in
your comedy, so like, like, do you could you talk
about being fed up about everybody talking about politics so much?
Speaker 5 (01:18:37):
Yeah?
Speaker 22 (01:18:37):
I mean I could go that route. I mean I
am a little fed up with the whole politic talk
and people, you know, getting separated by that. So I
just tend to.
Speaker 5 (01:18:49):
I don't know.
Speaker 22 (01:18:50):
I just I think what we're all going through on
a daily basis, whether it be you know, two boyfriends
or true we have one okay, relationship problems, parents, you know.
I just feel like everybody would. It's relatable humor, observational humor.
Speaker 5 (01:19:12):
That's that's my length. What's the point of everyday life
that annoys you the most?
Speaker 22 (01:19:16):
I got a problem right now with people wearing in
visi line during the day.
Speaker 1 (01:19:22):
That bothers me too, and then you can see it
and hear it when they talk.
Speaker 5 (01:19:26):
That's all I'm looking at.
Speaker 22 (01:19:27):
If you had a visil line on, I would be
looking at your mouth and how the saliva is in
between the teeth and the so I believe in visil
line should be done at night where nobody could see
it while you're sleeping. That's one of my pet peeves
right now. Another one of my pet peeves right now
is the way people talk these like buzzwords like I
(01:19:49):
am on a journey, a healing.
Speaker 1 (01:19:53):
Journey, healing whatever, Yeah, put whatever you want in front
of journey.
Speaker 5 (01:20:00):
Narcissist not so much. That's not on my hot list
of words that I don't like. Another word. What is it?
That's that's a word that I don't even know really
exactly what that means. I hear it a lot. Another
word I don't like is oh, I'm speaking my truth.
Speaker 22 (01:20:22):
Oh I'm sorry.
Speaker 5 (01:20:28):
It bothers me just these like buzzwords. So yeah, that's
that's another thing that that ain't right.
Speaker 4 (01:20:33):
Are you the popular dad at school? Like, dude, it
does everybody know, like your dad is famous.
Speaker 22 (01:20:37):
I'm hearing a little bit of that. But I'm like
an older father. I'm fifty two, I got a six
year old. So when I go to the school events,
I feel like I'm like an antique you told well
compared to the rest of the dads, like they're in
their early thirties.
Speaker 5 (01:20:52):
So I'm like almost like a you know, like here
comes the great care you know, the only dads that
have gray hair. So that's where I am. But I
feel like I'm.
Speaker 22 (01:21:05):
Bringing a bit of wisdom to the to the school.
Speaker 5 (01:21:08):
Here.
Speaker 22 (01:21:08):
We go to the soccer games and uh, you know,
they're handing out stickers at the end of the game
and the score goes backwards once they reach it. It
was twelve zero and then I went to nine zero
because they want to make the kids feel bad. I
you know, I have problems with that. And I'm like,
and I'm doing something that might be a little out
(01:21:31):
of the box. I want to get your take here
in the breakfast club. If if you agree, you got this.
Speaker 5 (01:21:36):
You have a son. I got six kids.
Speaker 4 (01:21:38):
I got four girls, two boys.
Speaker 22 (01:21:39):
Soccer.
Speaker 5 (01:21:40):
They do all the also okay, and the sons are howled.
He's in college.
Speaker 7 (01:21:49):
He's not demanded house. He thinks he's demanded house.
Speaker 5 (01:21:51):
He plays football, football, them around.
Speaker 7 (01:21:54):
He does not slam me around. The mother side is eleven.
Speaker 5 (01:21:56):
Okay. So I got a six year old.
Speaker 22 (01:21:58):
What I've been doing recently, I'm putting cologne on my
six year old when he goes to school, and I'm
asking him when he comes home, is anybody comment on
how good you smell?
Speaker 11 (01:22:12):
No?
Speaker 5 (01:22:12):
I'm not getting anything.
Speaker 22 (01:22:13):
So I had the parent teacher conference this week and
during the conference, I go, have you noticed how good
my son smells? And they're like, I'm sorry. I go, yeah,
you know, I'm putting a little Colonne on. I was wondering,
you know, She's like, well, we're not really allowed to
comment on.
Speaker 5 (01:22:32):
Kids smells, Like, like even if he smells good, I mean,
there's kids that smell awful.
Speaker 22 (01:22:40):
Growing up in school, there's always that kid that came
to school with you know whatever, booger's hanging out of
his nose or what have you. But I'm like, come on,
this kid's coming to school and you know, we dress
him up nice, we do his hair, And do you
think six years old is a little too young to
be wearing cologne?
Speaker 5 (01:22:57):
What do you think?
Speaker 6 (01:22:58):
Do I think six years old is No, I don't
think that's a young be wearing cologne. But I can
also understand why the teachers don't want to comment on it.
I mean that was since Pizzagate. You can't be too safe.
Speaker 22 (01:23:09):
I mean, I don't know, if it's six year old
walks and smell like John Paul Gutier, you gotta comment
on it.
Speaker 4 (01:23:17):
I don't have a problem, and I don't have a problem,
and I would say not to say that your kids stinks,
But some of these younger kids stink.
Speaker 1 (01:23:23):
Now like you you go and you could tell that
they not washing good enough.
Speaker 5 (01:23:27):
Yeah, well, I mean they just they look like they're
rolling out of bed right into the school. I don't know.
We kind of take our time with our kids, and sure, looks.
Speaker 6 (01:23:35):
Your fatherhood changed the way you approach your comedy because
I know you use your family.
Speaker 5 (01:23:38):
A lot and a lot of you Not really, but
I mean it has.
Speaker 22 (01:23:42):
I'm extracting a lot of humor out of being a parent,
you know, especially in today's day and age. Uh So yeah,
I mean, I'm always talking about what's going on in
my life in my comedy. So if I'm going, uh
to a parent teacher conference, if I'm going to a
soccer game with my kids, I'm talking more about my health.
Speaker 5 (01:24:02):
Now how I seem to be breaking down? I can't
do what's your fifty?
Speaker 1 (01:24:07):
MANHU mean breaking down?
Speaker 11 (01:24:10):
I have?
Speaker 22 (01:24:10):
I have detached biceps, which I don't know how that happened.
What is that my biceps have detached? I'll show you.
Speaker 5 (01:24:20):
There's a lot of things going on. We mean, fifty fifty?
How old are you? Forty seven? Okay, another five years?
You're telling me how good you feel? Now here, see
there's like a hole on my bicep here.
Speaker 1 (01:24:32):
Did you play sports? Awesome?
Speaker 5 (01:24:34):
No, this is the I woke up in there, and
this is I woke up out of it. So he
wasn't working out. You thought I was doing bicep curls.
Speaker 22 (01:24:42):
I woke up and I'm like, do I have a
hole in my bicep? So yeah, I don't know how
this happened. So, yeah, this is what I'm talking about
breaking down.
Speaker 5 (01:24:50):
Did you work out like a lot growing up? Yeah?
I used to. Yeah, of course it's working out like
a I used to work out with no shirt on.
I don't believe. Yeah.
Speaker 22 (01:25:04):
No, I used to work out a lot, But now
I can't work out as much as I used to
do to the fact that you know, and I think
this travel has killed my body too, and being so
physical on stage. I'm starting to see the effects of
of uh, of just getting a little bit older, that's all.
I don't want to say that I'm a grandfather, all right,
(01:25:26):
I'm just saying that, Biden, I just can't do things
that I used to do. I played a basketball game
the other day, like a pick up basketball game.
Speaker 5 (01:25:37):
I felt like a hamstring was gonna pop. So I mean,
I you know I can't.
Speaker 1 (01:25:41):
Isn't there a certain age where like you shouldn't do that?
Speaker 5 (01:25:44):
Well, you're just this one's telling me I'm lot older.
Speaker 20 (01:25:48):
Like no, I'm just saying I think you should still
like work out and like be active, but like a
pickup basketball game, they get a little intense and you
didn't like your biceps, And.
Speaker 22 (01:25:58):
Yeah, well I I thought I was going to be
available to do that. But as I was doing it,
and it was only half court, it's not like we're sprinting.
Speaker 5 (01:26:06):
Up and down.
Speaker 1 (01:26:06):
The half court is better.
Speaker 5 (01:26:07):
But how did you feel you can still.
Speaker 4 (01:26:11):
Back?
Speaker 6 (01:26:12):
Obama was playing basketball when he was in the White House.
Speaker 1 (01:26:14):
He was sixty five.
Speaker 20 (01:26:15):
But that's different in his in the White House, it's
just him. It's not a random playing pickup games.
Speaker 1 (01:26:20):
Yeah, it's different. Barack Obama is in the White.
Speaker 5 (01:26:22):
House work at all.
Speaker 1 (01:26:23):
How did you feel?
Speaker 5 (01:26:25):
How did you push it? First?
Speaker 20 (01:26:26):
I did basically seven with Lola. I counted in that video.
Y'all had me f y'all said five. How did you
feel when you were doing it?
Speaker 5 (01:26:33):
I didn't feel good. I didn't remember the basket being
that high. Yeah, I couldn't. I couldn't really get a
good good Uh, A lot of air balls, a lot
of air balls.
Speaker 22 (01:26:43):
But yeah, I mean, listen, I'm trying to keep you know,
in shape, and uh, I'm just having some issues.
Speaker 5 (01:26:49):
With my body right now. We talked about it.
Speaker 1 (01:26:51):
We talked about Coldoscopyes, we talked about everything.
Speaker 5 (01:26:54):
Just did that recently too, Did you get one?
Speaker 1 (01:26:59):
He goes a lot lot like enjoyed.
Speaker 4 (01:27:02):
He went for a check up and adopted said ben no,
but he did it.
Speaker 6 (01:27:05):
You know, I went for a sectomy. I went to
get a a sector me consultation okay, and left ended.
Speaker 20 (01:27:11):
Up with a prop He volunteers himself for it. Like
whenever they need to just like figure new things out
right over figure.
Speaker 1 (01:27:17):
I wouldn't care if I needed to do two things
that one time they went together.
Speaker 5 (01:27:22):
Can we talk about your bath?
Speaker 27 (01:27:24):
You know why?
Speaker 1 (01:27:24):
You just want to make him comfortable, so you can
you know, then dive open up a little bit.
Speaker 5 (01:27:29):
Yeah. So I just went and it was wondering. It
was just wonderful. No, I was. I was shocked. I've
never been put down like that on a front and
all and uh so good it was.
Speaker 6 (01:27:45):
It was we're talking about different things colon. Yeah, yeah
that we had that too. I had that to talk
about the prostate. Oh I was, he was great.
Speaker 5 (01:27:57):
Yeah, it was great. No, it was drugs. It was fantastic. Yeah,
the drugs. I thought I thought the drug was beautiful.
Speaker 22 (01:28:04):
But as I was going under, uh, there was a
nurse there and she goes, oh, I'm a I'm a
big fan, right, And I'm like what and she's like, yeah,
I saw you at the forum in Los Angeles and
I going, now you're going to see up my and
I'm like, you know, it's like, I don't really want
to hear that as I'm going under, but yeah, I
(01:28:26):
thought yeah, and I'm like you, I'm very preventive, you know.
Speaker 5 (01:28:31):
I think a lot of times when it comes.
Speaker 22 (01:28:32):
To health, people react to their health rather than you know,
go through the preventative measures.
Speaker 5 (01:28:38):
So I'm into testing. I like going in for not
I don't like going in for tests, but.
Speaker 22 (01:28:42):
I'd rather know early rather than you know, my biggest
fear is going to the doctor and they're giving me
pamphlets and going you know, you're you're you're gonna.
Speaker 5 (01:28:52):
Die soon, So I'd rather know before it ain't right.
Speaker 1 (01:28:56):

Speaker 5 (01:29:25):

claims to be like the Grand Champ. I don't know
what the title is with like the Grand Champion. He's
like a professional. Now is he a professional paddle?
Speaker 22 (01:29:35):
He's a pro paddle. He's a pronoun. Okay, I didn't
know he was pro.
Speaker 5 (01:29:39):
Now that is pronoun.
Speaker 22 (01:29:40):
Now, yeah, I didn't know he was a professional padel.
Speaker 5 (01:29:46):

You know, they're the host of the R and B
Money podcast on the Black fed Heart Radio podcast Networks.
Speaker 5 (01:30:43):
So it's fitting.
Speaker 9 (01:30:44):

Shut up, all right.
Speaker 10 (01:31:28):
This record is called Baby is from Gabriel Jacoby.
Speaker 1 (01:31:32):
He's actually out of Tampa.
Speaker 19 (01:31:33):
Like that.
Speaker 1 (01:31:35):
That's hard, okay, okay, will use me up, sir.
Speaker 5 (01:31:39):
Yeah. And one of them, one of them delivery. He
might be in the Best New R and B Artists
category of the R and B Money Award.
Speaker 10 (01:31:50):
Shout out the Tampa. He also has a record on
there with Tom g who's a really big Tampa.
Speaker 5 (01:31:55):
Yes, legendary DJ no Tom to produce record.
Speaker 19 (01:32:00):
Just so.
Speaker 1 (01:32:00):
Oh he's a rapper from Tampa.
Speaker 15 (01:32:01):
Remember when we we had this, I didn't know he
produced as well.
Speaker 1 (01:32:07):
Okay, I don't know.
Speaker 15 (01:32:08):
They'll tell us in the comments for sure at this point.
Speaker 18 (01:32:11):
So all right.
Speaker 10 (01:32:12):
Next, this is a little slower, a little jazzier. It's
an artist named grim Lynn and this record is called
lost in.
Speaker 5 (01:32:18):
You fire like can't you?
Speaker 1 (01:32:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 13 (01:32:26):
Yeah, that one.
Speaker 7 (01:32:26):
It was cool melon.
Speaker 15 (01:32:30):
That's how it actually picks up.
Speaker 1 (01:32:32):
It starts off slower. I actually love it. Okay, Yeah, that.
Speaker 5 (01:32:38):
Cool within the fresh field.
Speaker 1 (01:32:39):
Interesting.
Speaker 15 (01:32:40):
Okay, that's a compliment for sure.
Speaker 5 (01:32:42):
Last one, this last one will really show you.
Speaker 15 (01:32:44):
I think I can't fit two more and it got
be one. Let's go Okay.
Speaker 10 (01:32:47):
This other one is from her a girl named Helen.
She's from Atlanta. Actually she's from Texas but based in Atlanta.
Speaker 1 (01:32:54):
Helen.
Speaker 15 (01:32:54):
Yeah, she the open I don't know if that's like
the open name. But she flipped love you hold I
think my age.
Speaker 4 (01:33:04):
I'll wait for that high note, but you don't. Sounds
like when you walk into a restaurant to get to
they take it to your table.
Speaker 7 (01:33:09):
One of them before.
Speaker 6 (01:33:12):
I'm not feeling that me okay either, and God blessed
that young lady. I'm sure that she's time. But when
you cover something like Minie Rippleton Loving, you don't touch
that record if you don't have the vocal, I.
Speaker 15 (01:33:26):
Say, don't the fly part about this record is that?
Speaker 1 (01:33:29):
And don't it got a little fly?
Speaker 15 (01:33:32):
I want to get to this last one.
Speaker 10 (01:33:33):
It's a rap record, But the fly part about that
record is that in the second verse, it's almost like
call Tyrone where she like flips it on like the guy.
Speaker 5 (01:33:41):
So Valentine was here was saying how you can't let
people sing out of their key? Yeah, and that's when
that sounded like she didn't go to that king.
Speaker 15 (01:33:53):
That means it's still a good song because she didn't
go out of key.
Speaker 5 (01:33:56):
Have you heard many?
Speaker 1 (01:33:57):
I have heard it?
Speaker 15 (01:33:59):
You cut not?
Speaker 10 (01:34:00):
In the last one, Chris Patrick and Marco Plus did
a joint with Conductor.
Speaker 1 (01:34:04):
It's called Frankenstein eight miles.
Speaker 15 (01:34:07):
Yeah, it's super aggressive.
Speaker 5 (01:34:08):
That was fire. I hope you don't DJ like that
in the party? How you play three R and B
records left like now? So we got our hoodies on
grinding on each other.
Speaker 10 (01:34:19):
I was like, this is past the this is not
no blend. That was not a transition. I'm just trying
to put y'all on.
Speaker 1 (01:34:25):
To some new joints that I like.
Speaker 5 (01:34:26):
And who told us it was R and B.
Speaker 15 (01:34:28):
Yeah, I said, it's R and B heavy.
Speaker 5 (01:34:30):
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Speaker 1 (01:34:31):
I had the first to the third one not so
much and the fourth was cool. Okay.
Speaker 5 (01:34:35):
Yeah, I like that that.
Speaker 10 (01:34:37):
Machael and Chris Patrick Chris Patrick on a conductor beat.
I loved them working with the O G killed my vibe.
Speaker 4 (01:34:44):
I was R and beat out I would I was
like my nipples and then you came.
Speaker 15 (01:34:50):
I'm just saying, that's up for the mix for the
Friday mix.
Speaker 6 (01:34:53):
