Man, the Power Hour is live. Kfan dot com. Slash Watch is
where you can find it. It'sall brought to you by Quantum Fiber.
And while you're there, be sureto subscribe to the fan on YouTube.
Quantum Fiber Your World Unleashed. Allright, Parker Fox is in the building.

(00:27):
He'll be up here in a second. Until then, should we start
Fan five? Yeah? Man,things that discuss? Shall we? It's
time for Fan five, brought toyou by Builders and Remodelers. Hey,
thanks Builders and Remodelers. Ben,you weren't here earlier when we talked about
Caitlin Clark. Not only is shegetting an eight figure deal from Nike,
she also had a really weird questionfrom Greg Doyle a press conference. I

(00:51):
went viral because she was up theregetting introduced as a member of the Indiana
Fever and then Greg Doyle got allweird and created maybe you saw it.
I did not see it. Ijust heard you guys describe it with great
detail, Zach. Maybe we canpull up that audio. By the way,
we can get Parker in on thisas well. Rick Doyle, Indie
star here. It is real quick. I let me do this. You

(01:15):
like you like that? I likethat you're here. I like you're I
do that in my family after everygame. So okay, well we'll start
doing it to me and we'll getalong. Your fine. So the question
is you so people think the endof it's cringe race is uh, start
doing that to me. We'll getalong. Just find I still think an
adult man doing the heart symbol toa twenty two year old girl is bizarre.

(01:40):
What a weirdo. I like thatyou're here. I like that.
That's buffalo Parker Fox the Golden Gopherbasketball team joints. I'm Parker. I
just wanted to do this to you, if you don't mind. I like
the I like this a little bit. Actually, Dawson our coho that video
to me yesterday in the locker roomwas a little little creepy. Creepy,
right, yeah, a little bit. Nice to meet you. By the
way. I wasn't here the firsttime you were in, but I heard

(02:00):
raver reviews about your first appearance onthe show, like but five months ago
whenever you were on it. We'reback. We're better right on, man,
Good to see love it. Yeah, were did you meet Parker yet
or not? No? Yeah, gonna meet you Fox. We go right
on, it's just creepy and creepy. Yeah, that's a weird bit.
Well, apparently if you kind ofscroll some of the comments too, he's

(02:22):
kind of a creepy dude in thenot creepy, but just kind of one
of these guys in the indie marketthat's always doing just ridiculous things and always
thinking that he's funnier than what heis. So it seems like it's on
par if you follow him and knowhim. I think, on the outside
looking him, this is my firstintroduction to him, i'd be like,
all right, I don't know ifit's creepy, it's just a guy.

(02:45):
He's a try hard Like, oh, you're just trying way too hard,
like swinging a miss. I don'tthink you need to get canceled. I
don't think that it's like, Idon't think it's like super super weird.
But how about this, But Ithink he's so aware that he's on the
brink and getting canceled that thirteen hoursago, he tweeted today in my uniquely
o fish way, while welcoming KaitlynClark to Indy, I formed my hand

(03:05):
into her signature heart. My commentafterward was clumsy and awkward. I sincerely
apologized. Please know my heart literallyand figuratively was well intentioned. I will
do better well. Ten hours ago, he posted a column and his headline
on Twitter to link to the story, just says Kaitlyn Clark, I'm so
sorry today I was part of theproblem. Yeah. So I saw that,

(03:29):
that second apology, and I thinkit's interesting that and maybe I don't
know. I guess I don't followCaitlin on X, but like I'm assuming
she's on X. She he doesn't, He doesn't tag her at all,
doesn't do at Caitlin Clark just putsher name, Like, well, that's
kind of interesting, Like wouldn't shejust like direct directly? Yeah, she

(03:49):
is on Kayln Clark twenty two, three hundred and thirty thousand people that fellt
Why wouldn't you if you are sincereabout what you're doing, why don't you
just just tag her so you makeyou know she's going to see it and
her representatives will see it. Likethat's like I think more of a true
public apology. But they can't evendo that, right, Yeah, it

(04:09):
was weird. You just as wetalked about this morning, you know,
Patrick Roycey is not going to dothat. The Parker fox in a press
conference to see that Parker, I'mjust happier here. That's a really good
but you're not. I just lovethat you're here. But it's just weird,

(04:33):
like I'm working on that. Thatwas really it's a little bit just
like my Brian Johnson from a CDCjust holding one note saying Parker's name.
That might be worse than the heart. I don't know. Yeah, it
is your thoughts. You're a collegeathlete. I don't know. We talked
about the locker, and like Ithink so often with the media, it's
like they try to relate, youknow, to you, and they want

(04:54):
to they want to kind of getthat inside kind of side to you,
so they have that relationship with you. But sometimes when it's a guy in
that position, it's like, dude, you're kind of just doing a little
too much and and stay away fromthat. I mean, in a way,
it's a it's like these local broadcastersand the guys are on the sports

(05:15):
beat. Let's just say for thissituation, we're talking about Indiana, and
in Indianapolis, you get introduced towhether it's the Colts first round draft pick
that's coming up, Caitlin Clark, whatever it is, you're sort of starting
a relationship, like you're dating alittle bit, and for him to come
out on date one and act likethat, yeah, it's like you're never

(05:40):
you're never getting she's never going totrust him ever again. Like if he
thinks that this is his way oflike you know, mill bro Banter,
like we're just kind of like hangingout. We're buds, you know,
and you can trust me, andI'm just kind of a cool guy.
You are who you are. Andthat's the other thing. It's like,
all right, Parker, right now, you're on our show, right,
this is our turf. We're gladto have you here. Right, But

(06:01):
if Caitlin Clark had come into thisshow, The Power Chip Morning Show,
that's kind of the point. It'slet's be friendly, let's all get to
know each other, right, It'sit's our moment. You're on our show,
this is our turf. But we'resuper pumped that you're here. That
press conference is her moment. It'snot Greg's chance to go. I'm Kaitlyn
and I need to bond, right, No, it's not your moment at

(06:23):
all. You can meet her overthe next handful of years while you're covering
the fever. This is her moment. Let's play it a little bit.
Just ask her questions. This shouldhave nothing to do with Greg Doyle.
And now, of course the lasttwenty four hours it is Paul, your
hands up. Now on the flipside. How much money do we have
to give Zach for if the Vikingsdraft JJ McCarthy, Oh god, I

(06:44):
would love that. Just do thehard o. My god, I'm glad
that is your best idea. Thatmight be your one idea for the year.
Like it's on NFL network and Zachjust goes, I'm glad, glad
you're here, and just the hearthands the whole time. I'm glad you're
what here? Oh? And thenif if JJ says do you have a

(07:04):
question, he doesn't even have tosay I love him. I'm just glad
you're here. So that's your onegood idea for the year. Now,
if they don't draft JJ McCarthy, though, then you don't have a good
idea yet. That's okay. Thenyou have eight months to come up with
a good idea for you come upwith another one, will you by Christmas?
Then you were going to say, well, I was just going to
try to bring this back to Parkerand the fact that you know, I

(07:26):
think in basketball, you guys areyou guys are in the spotlight from such
a young age. At what pointin time did you obviously, even just
sitting here for just five minutes,I can tell you're very comfortable in front
of a microphone and all this thiswhole medium, But like, when did
you feel comfortable getting being in frontof the camera talking to media. Did

(07:46):
you have training? You guys haveongoing training with the Gophers house that all
handled. How did it work foryou? Yeah? I mean I think
it's different for everybody, you know. I think for me, I'm kind
of an outgoing guy that enjoys thiskind of stuff. I think this is
like the most fun because it's likejust sitting around with a bunch of guys
talking sports and having fun. Andthen when it comes like media, you
know, they're asking you questions andthat's easy for me, But it doesn't

(08:07):
come easy for everybody, which isweird to me because I think, you
know, you're talking about your game, you're talking about yourself, like this
should be this should come easy, you know, But that some guys,
it doesn't. I never had anyspecific training or anything like that. I
think it's just like it's something thatI enjoy. I've always enjoyed talking.
I always enjoy dialogue. This isbasically the same thing as sitting around on
the couch at night and just youknow, having a conversation about the latest

(08:30):
you know, news, but youknow you're just doing it to a microphone.
So I think it's just something thatI've always enjoyed. Do you ever
have an awkward line of questioning?I'm not saying somebody made a pass at
you or made a hand gestures.Would you ever have somebody try to put
you in the corner or some kindof awkward you know question or two?
Usually it comes from like an oppositeteam media member for the most point,

(08:50):
you know, whether they like sawsomething during the game that they didn't like,
or maybe they saw something on yourTwitter that they didn't like and they
it's I would say, it's moreon like Twitter when you when you get
somebody to tweet at you. Ithink some people are kind of sometimes afraid
to actually ask in person and theI'm go and tweeted after the interview or
something like that. So nothing tooawkward. I think other guys have had
more awkward situations, But I don'tknow. I just try to, like,

(09:13):
if there's something awkward, just divertit, and you know the classic
media pr resp Yeah for sure. You know. All right, Well it's
two fan five because one thing thatwe haven't really discussed at all is Gopher
basketball related, shall we You alreadyhit it right? Yeah, I forget
in. That was like five minutesago when he was walking in nine minutes
ago. Time flies when you're havingfun, go for basketball. Got a

(09:33):
transfer? Now, are you allowedto talk about this stuff or not?
I don't know how this works. You comment on the new player or do
you have to stay? I thinkI think I can say that we recruited
him. Okay, I don't knowif I want to. I don't want
to put you in a bad spotanyway, The the Gopher basketball team got
Frank Mitchell from Canisius six eight toforty. That's a huge bitch. Twelve

(10:00):
point one points a game, elevenpoint six rebounds a game, that's fourth
in the country. Obviously a PharrellPain leaving with the portal. So,
man, if this is the case, and you can comment on it.
I don't know if you can onpaper, that's a pretty big spot to
fill a double double machine. Thisguy, Frank Mitchell, Yeah, I
mean Farrell is a you know,a guy that does a lot of things

(10:24):
for us. He's huge obviously aswell. So you need to replace size
in the big ten. And Ithink is what I can say is that
we're recruiting the kids. So yeah, got it, well said, well,
do you guys, do you guystalk portal at all as a team?
Yeah? Oh yeah, I meanespecially now, like three years ago
now, but now it's like it'sall we it's all the conversation and it's

(10:46):
more honestly about the money. Tothe money side of it is how much
you think this guy's getting, howmuch you think And we're a pretty we're
a pretty close group, you knowunder our table and and we you know,
we're not afraid to tell each otherand you know, discuss it with
each other just because we're an open, close group. But you know,
when you talk about a new kidcoming in, it's like you're not really
comfortable with him yet. So it'sa little weird to be sure. How

(11:07):
much money did you get? Youknow, did you like, did you
have any sense that Pharrell was thinkingabout going Yeah, I did. Yeah,
I think you know that whole sophomoreclass for l Brandon and Josh we
kind of we kind of knew towardsthe end of the year that you know,
they they definitely were thinking about it. And then you know, obviously
some things take you blindside of andthey all just kind of up and do
it. But it's definitely something thatyou can sense. I think for me

(11:31):
too, as as you know, one of the leaders and captains, it's
like, you know, you tryto rein it in for the last you
know, a couple of weeks, but sometimes guys have their mind made up
and it's you know, you gotto hope that they're doing what's best for
them. I'm not trying to comparethe the go first to the national champion
Connecticut to Huskies, but I heardDan Hurley on with with Dan Patrick,
Yeah, and he basically said hehad to sell the entire team, like,

(11:52):
look, I know the portal's outthere, I know there's nil money
out there. I don't even careif you guys leave, but we have
a chance to run this back andgo back to back for the first time.
You know, no one's done itsince Florida almost what fifteen, sixteen,
seventeen years ago, So if youcan just swallow your pride for a
year, we can really do thisagain and be historic. And he said,
they got everybody on the same pageand they did it. Does it

(12:13):
suck a little bit that, Likeyou have the Izzos of the world saying,
man, this Gopher team, ifthey can stay together. They got
some experience, they got depth, they got some skills, they got some
NBA talents, right like Cam Christy. You got some people here that are
legit. They just got to staytogether. And then as soon as the
season and you have three or fourof you hit the portal and leave and
you're like, oh, man,why can't they just keep this team together?

(12:35):
It's frustrating. Yeah, I knowyou're right, and I think it's
it's cool when tom Mezzo says it, but ultimately, when you truly believe
it and then it happens it,you know, it sucks even more.
So. Yeah, we definitely wereat a spot where like, hey,
man, like I try to relaythat message, like you know, yeah,
we you know, we lost MichiganState the first rond the Big Ten
tournament, but we bring everybody back, we get a couple of kids in,
we find a transfer here or there, like, there's no reason why

(12:56):
we're not on top of this conference, especially with the way things move nowadays.
So I tried to relay that messageas much as I could. That
was kind of you know, Ben'smain message is, Hey, let's let's
let's run this thing back. Butyou know, guys, guys make their
own personal decisions, and you knowthey're they're still family, so you hope
that they make the right ones, you know. So I I've never really

(13:16):
like dove into the whole transfer portalprocess and how how does it actually work
these days? Because I feel likethe NCAA has just kind of lost control
of this thing. If you're ifyou're if so, if you are a
player and you're thinking, Okay,I don't know, maybe I should just
go elsewhere and I need to transferseasy as walking into I don't know,

(13:39):
the compliance office or whatever and saylike, I want to transfer, here's
my application, and you just gois it just that open? Yeah,
there's not even an application. Youjust go into compliance and say put me
in the transfer portal. You don'teven have to tell your coach, which
is the craziest thing. And Ithink that's more of like a respect thing
and I think all of the guyson our team obviously did that. But
yeah, you can just walk upto compliance and say, hey, put
me in the try answer portal andthen you'll get an email because I did

(14:01):
it when I was leaving Northern State. And you'll get an email about an
hour later, and then your phonestarts to ring and it's you know,
NDOM numbers calling you and school's callingyou, and but it's yeah, it's
so it really is just an openmarket, free agency. It's literally yeah
for agency. Can you explain thetimeline because this is something that Dan Patrick
and Dan Hurley were talking about aswell. Hurly compared it to the draft

(14:22):
and the way that the analogy hewas trying to use is that the longer
you stay in the tournament, otherteams that are dropping off, those are
the players that enter the portal. So it's almost like the teams that are
out of the tournament get the firstcrack at the available players. Is that
no, you're exactly right close aswell, you know you're exactly right,
but now with this nil money alot of the teams that are out early

(14:45):
probably don't have the same NIL budgetas the teams that are still competing.
So yeah, you can start recruitingkids, but if it's like a if
it's like a big time name, then it's it's going to be hard to
recruit him with your NIL budget comparedto now Arkansas has got a six million
dollar NIL budget or whatever it is. So yeah, you're right, And
if teams are playing, like,I think that kid still can enter the

(15:05):
portal if he's on a if he'son a team, but you're probably not
because you're making a you know,a championship run. You're like, maybe
I got a chance to win achampionship here, So can I Can I
follow up real quick on the nilbecause again it's cloudy to me and how
it all works. Do you doyou, as an individual player get a
check from the collective? Is itput into your student account? Is it
paid weekly? Bi weekly, monthly? Like when you secure an NIL deal,

(15:30):
who are you talking to? Howdoes the payments get made and how
ultimately is the money transferred back andforth? Yeah, obviously I can.
You know, I could do anNIL deal with let's say Al's breakfast.
That great that I was there.I was there, I was there yesterday
morning. Man, if I knewyou could get money in college, I
would have gone to college. Whowas going to give you money? Now,

(15:52):
breakfast? You've got to do somethingthough, rated doing things is over
right. You're not getting nil moneyfor playing MLB this ship. Oh but
I'm good at it. Yeah, you can get away. Sorry anyway you
were saying no, But I meanlike als can say, hey, we'll
give you a let's say, athousand dollars to do an Instagram post and
a TikTok once a month or somethinglike that. That's like your nil deal

(16:14):
you with OL's. There's no middleman. Now you've got collectives. You got
for us dinky Ton athletes and theyraise all their money and kind of work
with coach and say, hey,how much does it take to get Dustin
or see A back, how muchit does it take to get Elijah Hawkins
back, Mike Mitchell, Parker Fox, whatever it may be, And they
can work with you and then onceyou kind of solve a number that that

(16:36):
you like. Each school does itdifferently, probably, but at the U
we do fifty percent is paid outright away and then there's basically a payment
plan through the rest of the year. I think it's a smart way to
do it because one, yeah, you get to see that money. It's
like, okay, that's real. And then also it's you know, a
nineteen year old sees whatever it is, one hundred thousand dollars, they're probably
gonna, you know, start spendinga little bit. So it's smart to

(16:56):
kind of do that little payment planthroughout the throughout the Is it just during
the season, because I guess ifyou transfer then it's just gone. So
it's only paid out during the season. Yeah, that's that's what for ours
was at least. Yeah, sowe'll have like, you know, an
April deal and then get that moneyand then when the season starts you go
down the line. So but ifyou but if you as an individual walked

(17:17):
into OWLS and Owls is like, hey man, we want to do a
deal separately that's completely separated on yourown. You don't have to report that
or go to no. Yeah, you just have to make sure compliance is
cool. It's it's like some rulesthat you can't do a deal with like
you know, fan duel or draftkings or whatever whatever. It is you
can't do gambling, can't do alcohol, and now you know with cannabis you
can't do that kind of stuff. But yeah, strip clubs, I don't

(17:40):
know. I don't know about stripclubs. Sausage sauce. You would have
wanted that nil deal today, Jay, Hell yeah, I mean, I'm
just thinking about going to El's breakfast. I wasn't. That's all. You
know, you're getting older, butyou just want to I'd rather go to
breakfast same, not even closeted, undred percent wasted time breakfast. I want
a waffle doing that? What isyour als order? I get the I

(18:03):
get one blueberry pancake. Says it'selite. Oh, it's the best pancake.
Even Gavin case On, who Iripped one time, said it's the
maybe the best item in the state. It's that good. I get the
spike with two eggs and garlic andall that, and then I get some
toast and a cup of coffee.Oh, gust sneak out save some of
them for late that elite. Jesus, you go hard? Oh I do?

(18:25):
I go hard on the paint.Yeah, you look out. If
I'm ever in there with you,I'm not gonna out rebound you for a
stool, as long as I getthe one at the end where there's a
little extra legroom. Yeah, that'smy that's my go to. But no,
yeah, you can do you cando whatever, and that's the best
way to do it right. Soyou can if you feel confident enough to
you know, look at contracts andyou know, bargain with somebody about how

(18:45):
much you should make off of TikTokor whatever. And now guys have agents
too, where it's like you knowthat they can help them out. But
now your agents taken usually twenty whichis yeah, way too high. Fifteen
it's crazy, but that's that's thesort of a standard standard marketing commission is
twenty percent. It's just too high. It's like it's a way too high,

(19:06):
especially with guys like myself. Nowthere's some elite guys where it's like,
yeah, you probably need like CaitlynClark needed an agent, you know,
Angel Reese, those kind of thosekind of people need an agent.
But for me, when it's I'mdealing with local you know, a little
deals here and there, why givesomebody twenty percent? You know, I
think man and our coaches, ourcoach is pushed for that too, where
it's like, dude, you're theone that's making this, why give twenty
percent to somebody else? So,all right, more with Parker Fox after

(19:29):
this, More with Ben Lieber afterthis. In about ten minutes, we'll
talk to Mike and Norri, assistantcoach of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Game one
of these Suns Wolves series Saturday, twot thirty right here on the fan.
But more with Parker and Ben afterthis on the fan. Join us tomorrow

(19:53):

Wild Wings in Savage doors open ateight am. I had of a live
nine to Dude broadcast with Pa andCharge. Join us for football wings and

(20:15):
in like a minute and a half, we're gonna call Mike and nor
assistant coach in the Minnesota Timberwolves, ask him about the Sun's Wolves series.
But before that, Ben Leber isstill here. Ben, we got like
fifteen minutes with you. Parker Foxis here of the go for basketball team.
Good to meet you, dude. You're coming back. I am coming
back. It's gonna be an eighthyear, senior next year, eighth year
senior year. A lot of peoplego to school for eight years. Do

(20:38):
we still have that sound bite ornot? Let me see if I can
find that. Tommy boy, whatwere you done with eight years? The
Oh dear god god, I wouldhave smoked so much. Oh here it
is here, gone down here.I finally graduated. Yeah, just a
shade under a decade too, allright. You know a lot of people
go to college for seven years.I know they're called doctors. You have

(21:03):
a master's though, don't you.I do. It's not like you're eight
years in and you're still taking Thatwould be brutal. That would be brutal.
That would be brutal. No.I got the masters in six and
then last year, I h Islowed down. Did some non degree seeking.
I took h it's an interesting phrase, Yeah, some non degree seeking
graduate level classes. I took SexualPleasures and Intimacy Naturistic Healing. Could you

(21:30):
give the cliff notes to sauce theuniversity. I don't do that. Yeah,
they do learn a lot. WasGreg Doyle from the Indie Star in
that class, they should have beenwhat's the ratio of guys to girls in
that class? How many trench coatsare one? I was the only guy
in that class. Yeah, Ithink I was the only guy in that

(21:51):
class. It was advantage you though, Yeah, but I mean it was
also online and it was you know, you met one time, so it
wasn't anything you know that, Butcan you imagine that outside of Parker?
Can you imagine the dudes that signedup for an online sex class? Rosie,
Rosie, I'm you were graduating?Okay, Mark, Yeah, calm
down, Rose, what a weirdo? God? All right, guys,

(22:15):
your assignment this week is to goon the scene called porn Hub and some
research finish that class. Yes,interesting, Yeah, the nature class it
was, that was an interesting onetoo. There was one assignment where I
had to go find a river andI had to report what I saw in
the river and any species that movedand how they moved. And uh,

(22:38):
I didn't really see a whole lotof fish swimming down the river, So
I kind of kind of struggled inthat class. But uh, yeah,
that was an interesting one. Look, I hate doing this because you're here
and you're nice and you're from theUniversity of Minnesota. I went to the
University of Minnesota. Man, thiscollege thing is a scam. You yeah,
when you're in your tenth years onscholarship. But if you're if you're
pained, couldn't imagine you're paying.Go look at a river and go write

(23:00):
down what you see. If youdon't see any fish, just report back
to me. Do you guys geta paper mache out there? Yeah?
And by the way, this classis forty five hundred dollars. Not insane.
Oh, look at the river forfree, right right water? All
right, let's transition. Look,we don't we don't get a lot of
deep runs in the NBA in thistown, but we're looking at one this

(23:22):
year. It looks like it's possible. The Wolves just have their second best
regular season in history, fifty sixor so wins, almost had a shot
at the number one seed. Weend up falling to number three, and
we're facing the Phoenix Suns. They'refavored. The Suns are favored on DraftKings
to win the series. It's gonnabe a tough test. Let's talk to
Mike and Norri about the matchup.Mike and nor is the assistant coach for

(23:45):
the Minnesota Timberwolves and kind of akind of a cult icon. Micah,
you are beloved because if you're inbetween quarters interviews on Bally's Sports North,
everybody seems to love you. Ithink that. Like I said, I
tell people, it must be aslow day in sports if that's what gets
everybody going of those halftime interviews. But now they're fun and try to keep

(24:07):
it light a little bit and keepsome people entertained. All right, this
is a tough matchup. I knowyou guys are ready for the Suns.
But what did you see on Sundaythat you can change by Saturday. What
are the Suns bring to the tablethat give this team specific problems? I
think number one just matchups in general. And what I mean by that is
we played big and we've been verygood at it all year with Karl Anthony

(24:30):
Towns and Rudy Gay both starting, and then they played Kevin Durant at the
four, so that makes them somewhatsmall with his skill set. So I
think we can move around some ofthe matchups, look at different matchups and
different people on those guys. That'shelped us immensely. The other thing,
too, is we have to makesure that we know that Booker and Durant
are going to do what they do. It's very interesting. They both average

(24:52):
twenty seven points a piece, andthey both average twenty seven points and wins
and losses. So basically what thattells you is they're going to score and
they're going to do what they do. So that means we have to pay
more attention to those guys such asthe Grayson Allens, who led the NBA
in three point shooting, and BradleyBeal who's averaged twenty five points against us
in the two games that he's playedin the three games that we've played over

(25:15):
all this season, So looking atsome of those matchups, that's the first
thing they present. The second thingthat they do a great job of is
they're a very fast starting team andthey've outscored us over the course of three
games by an average of fourteen pointsin the first quarter, including the forty
four to twenty two that you sawat the end of the regular season here
just last Sunday. So we gotto make sure that out of the gate,

(25:36):
we got to be ready to meettheir push that they try to do,
and we should be ready for allthat. Coach, what do you
guys do about it? It seemsto be that the Sons are the one
team that kind of boxes up AnthonyEdwards when he so he can't drive to
the basket and dominate like he hasall year. What do they do differently
than a lot of teams don't doto him? Basically, they just sell
out for forty eight minutes. Andthat sounds like a very blanket statement,

(26:00):
but basically what they do is whenanytime he's in pick and roll, they
put two people on him. Sothe man who's ever defending, the guy
that sets the screen, they'll justbasically blitz or trap and put two on
him there. So that's what forceshim to get off it, which is
the right play, and then weshould be able to get open shots behind
it. And the other thing theydo is when he catches on the wing
and in isolation, they basically justeverybody calls it boxes and elbow. So

(26:23):
you know, write the paint, there's gonna be two guys there on either
side of the free throw line andtwo guys on either side of the lane
down on the blocks, and sohe's looking at a crowd. So what
that means that we have to dois we have to help ant as far
as get him in space, somaybe it's off of a pass pass combination
where he can go and catch thosetype of things where you can get him
downhill and he can attack before thatdefense is set. The other thing that

(26:47):
we can look to do is andwe haven't been great at it this year,
but we need to run more intransition because then if they're getting back
and trying to get matched up,there's some gaps there that he can attack.
But to do all that, NumberOne, you got to get stops,
and that's what's been our problem againstthem Phoenix in two of the three
games. But we can do somethings to get him into space so that
he's always not looking at two guyson the ball and then another three in

(27:11):
a triangle behind him. You talkedearlier about how these Suns get off to
a fast start. How can youslow that down? What did you see
on tape and you're scouting this weekthat you guys can attack them with and
slow them down. I think it'sa very good question. I think it's
a two part. Number One,we got to take care of the basketball.
We had eleven turnovers in the firstquarter that Sunday game, and anytime

(27:32):
you turn it over, especially whatthey call live ball turnovers, where it's
not a ball that's going out ofbounds or a charge and they have to
take it out of bounds. It'swhere bad pass or you get stripped on
a drive and now it ends upto like an hot man rush, so
it's a three on one or twoon one or just an empty layup.
So Number one, they thrive onthose type of opportunities. And then the
thing that we can do is,I mean it sounds silly, but we've

(27:53):
got to be able to make shots. And when you make shots, now
they're taking the ball out of bounds, so that's slow them up. And
then the last thing would be whenthe shot goes up, if you're not
in a position to go to theoffensive glass and you're above the break or
above that three point line out towardsthe middle of the floor, you've got
to get back so we can setour half court defense. And that's where
they've really hurt us. In thosefirst quarters. I think they had I

(28:17):
don't know, eight or nine fastbreak points in the first court and they
ended up with like thirteen for thegame. And so even when you look
at Sunday's we chip it down toabout you know, nine or ten,
an opportunity to cut it down belowthose single digits, and you spend so
much time and energy doing that.We could just never get over the hump.
But we got to make sure numberone, we take care of the
ball. Number two we get backon missus. And then obviously anytime we

(28:37):
can score the basketball, that helpsus as well. So coach get you
guys basically have a full week toget ready for this game. And this
is a team that has had yourguys's number. How do you, guys
and what do you guys do psychologicallywith the players to get their minds right
to sort of flush everything everything thathappened in the regular season and get ready
for this first playoff game. Youcan go about it in different ways.

(28:59):
It's funny because I think it remindsyou a little bit of a I don't
know if I'm sure you all rememberLou Hoholt two as a Minnesota football coach
up here, but I always laughedwith him, like by they'd always talked
about on Monday, you were gettingready to play the greatest team that ever
was assembled. By Tuesday it wasa really good team. And then by
Thursday, Friday Saturday, there's noway you could lose to that team.
So in other words, I thinkthere is some psychological to it because of
the fact that number one, weshowed them what we did and what they

(29:22):
did to us excuse me, andthen you know, and why they beat
us. Number two. You know, then we start showing them what we
can do to counteract that and makesure we slow them down. And then
the last thing is just to showthem why we are going to win the
series because we are going to dothese things to exploit what they've done to
us. The one advantage that Ifeel we do have is they're not going

(29:45):
to make many adjustments, nor shouldthey. I mean, they've beat the
heck out of us, for lackof a better term, these first three
games, so there's some lot ofadjustments that we can do. The other
thing is going into Sunday win orlose that game. I mean, it
was kind of written that, youknow, Dallas was not to beat Oklahoma
City, so we were going tobe either the two or three seed,
and if we would have won thatgame, were the two Phoenix most likely

(30:07):
the seven because New Orleans would havebeen six. And then if we lose
like we did. We know it'sa three to six point being Phoenix was
going to be the matchup, sowe didn't want to show an awful lot
if that type of makes sense. So there's some things that we can do
that they haven't seen that hopefully willhelp us. And as you know,
just a game wanill be very veryimportant to get that one at home and

(30:27):
then and be off and running inthe series. Coach obviously looking forward to
the playoffs. But we've been talkingsome NIL transfer portal up here. I'm
kind of curious to get your take. You know, now these guys are
making all this money in college andNIL, how do you think that kind
of transfers over to almost the rookieduties that you know, guys have to
kind of serve as they're coming intothe NBA now that you know they've maybe

(30:49):
made six seven hundred thousand dollars andnow you kind of got to take a
step back and be that rookie again. How do you think guys kind of
comprehend that and do you think it'llimpact relationships on NBA rosters? Good question.
I think it will impact the onlyreason why I say that will impact
is because a lot of times. It's I mean, you see it across
even the NBA. We've seen itin our daily lives. To me,

(31:10):
when guys get money, and evenin college, they get a little bit
more money, you become more yourpersonality shows even more. You come bigger
you what you are. So mypoint is if you're a generous person,
you're a good kid, and yougot a little bit more money, then
you become more geners passing out more. If you if you got a chip
on your shoulder you're a little bitmore arrogant, then you become more arrogant,
like you're untouchable. So that willnot bode well the latter for those

(31:33):
kids that come in with that chipon their shoulder, because you're walking into
a team and there's usually only oneor two rookies, and you walking into
a team of where there's going tobe fifteen to sixteen veterans who've been through
it and done it, and there'sa whole lot of alphas in that room
that has been exactly where this youngkid coming into is. It's not like
he's the head dog anymore. Soit will be a rude awaking if they're

(31:55):
not. If they don't try tofit in. As you know, it's
trying to oppose there will or bedisrespectful, arrogant. It's not a hazing
thing. I mean, that's kindof gone down quite a bit in the
NBA. But it's just different thingslike hey, you know, grab some
a veteran shoes, or make sureyou have donuts, or you're carrying a

(32:15):
I don't know, a door theexplore a backpack or something. So those
type of things. I'm sure there'llbe a little bit of pushback in the
NIL obviously is not going to it'snot going to help that at all.
So there's definitely going to be someone or two for Dagon sure that don't
fit in as well because of theNIL. All right, final question for
Mike and nor Wolves assistant coach. Thanks for joining. By the way,

(32:36):
of course, the game is twothirty this Saturday. Outside of maybe like
a random MLK day or maybe aChristmas Day game, a two thirty start
is obviously an oddity. Give methe pros and cons of playing a game
at two thirty as opposed to anevening game for a playoff series. Yeah,
another good question. I think thebiggest one that I'm making on is

(32:59):
that's twelve thirty Phoenix time, somaybe they're not all awake yet when we
roll the ball out. But theone thing that it does do for sure
is you're not sitting around and waitingall day, you know, until seven
o'clock, so you know, andjust basically at that point, if we
have a seven o'clock game, we'llhave a walk through at around ten o'clock
to about eleven, and the guyswill go home, get their rest,

(33:21):
and come back, so there won'tbe a walk through per se. We
won't get them up in the morningbefore the two thirty. There'll be more
of a meet at the arena, which is not as big a deal because
we do have the four days toprepare, so everything will be in game
plan wise. I think it's kindof an advantage, I do. I
just think that the energy the freshwill be the first Western Conference playoff game.
I think we'll land on Cleveland orbefore us at noon, but just

(33:43):
with all the energy not only withthe city but the fans and the players,
they'll be chomping at the bit toget going. And I actually like
the two thirty start, especially withthe week that we've had to prepare.
It's not like we need the extrarest. We're coming off of a you
know, a game the night beforeor even too to go, so guys
will be ready. We don't reallypractice around eleven or twelve anyway, so

(34:04):
their bodies are used to getting upand going at that time. So I
do think that's the positive. Theone negative then, would just be that
again, eighty five to ninety percentof your games are at seven o'clock at
night, and those guys have thoseroutines, but it's affecting both teams.
I must rather be at home thantraveling and losing the two hours you know,
getting to the city here that Phoenixwill have to on Friday night.

(34:25):
But I think that'll be more vantagesfor us if you just you may look
at it all cut and drive. All right, Michael, we need this,
We need this series, We needthis win. You guys got to
figure this one out. You gottado this. Appreciate the time, man,
good luck on Saturday and beyond.Dude, Hey, thank you so
much for having me. I reallyappreciate it. You got it. There's
Mike and Nori. Assistant head coachwould be a Minnesota Tembroles, maybe not

(34:49):
assistant head coach. Is that whatit's called assistant coach? I think it's
just assistant coach. I like thoseguys that are assistant head coaches. Yeah,
we're associate head coaches. We're breakingNBA news, Is that right?
Jimmy Butler is expected to be outseveral weeks with a right knee mc L
Yeah, it doesn't really matter. It's it's like Zion, right. I
mean, whoever wins that game plays, it's all gets smoked by the Celtics

(35:12):
anyway. So it would have beena better series if Butler was in it,
but it doesn't really he had achance if Jimmy Butler was healthy because
the Celtics are so unreliable and theheat they have. They've been there and
done that before as the eight toone matchup, but not with no Jimmy
Butler. It's it's all right now, it's time for headline. Headline's brought
to you by our friends at WolfRiver Electric. You can go solar with

(35:37):
Wolf River Electric, go sol.I get those panels, all right,
here we go, Parker. Idon't know if you know this bit.
I just read headlines and you react. You can say whatever the hell you
want. Just don't say the Fword ready, like me. An eight
year old was found driving a carin downtown Saint Louis on Monday with his
mother sleeping in the backseat. Geez, Saint Louis, it was responsible.

(35:59):
She was tired. Eight Kia boyseight years old? Would you rather have
the eight year old in the backseat and the mom sleeping while driving?
Think about it? Yeah, that'snot bad, Zach. How many eight
year olds have long enough legs toget to the pedals? I mean Parker
probably did. Yeah, you're likenine feet tall. Pastabologies, pastobologies,

(36:20):
definitely did. Yeah. A womanin Indiana was arrested after calling nine to
one one to complain that her drugdealer sold her a bad batch of meth.
I mean, a reasonable complaint. We heard these all the time,
Like that's the that's the negotiation. What's the word I'm looking for? Leverage
the drug dealer has. What areyou gonna do? Call the police,

(36:40):
file a complain that the Better BusinessBureau? Correct, this woman did,
which is what I do. That'sthe person that's doing mess. Yeah.
Correct. Most people want to liveto be ninety years old or longer.
But two thirds of people out theresurveyed would take a shorter, healthier life
over a longer one with more healthissues. Correct, it's pretty obvious,

(37:00):
right, would you rather live toeighty but healthy than ninety five? But
you were just falling apart the entiretime. Correct, I don't know.
Out, Keep me on here aslong as I can, bro, I'm
not trying to die, even ifI'm just like a head in a jar
like futurama. Yeah, baby ina jar in a futurama. I thought

(37:22):
you were talking about a product.A high school student in Ohio is going
to miss out on her senior promafter she got suspended for bringing a bag
of blank to school. A highschool student in Ohio will miss out on
her senior prom after getting suspended overbringing a bag of blank cocaine to school.

(37:45):
NERF guns, Dookie, Matt,we're going meth crap NERF guns And
what did you say? Cocaine?Yeah, you guys were close. Corn
chips. Wait wait, the snackwas not permitted because a teacher was severely
allergic to them, and there aresigns detailing the rule in parents and students

(38:07):
did sign a form acknowledging it.So the student signed the forum and still
brought corn ships to the school andthey are suspending her that damn form.
Yeah what almost like was she tryingto like plant them and the teacher's lunch
or something. Who cares cornships?Way? You got to say this about
twice a year on the show.We do, Yeah, we do.

(38:29):
But if you haven't had FreeDOS inabout nine months, you crack open a
bag and you're like, why don'tI get these all the time? Then
your breath smells terrible, right, you get cornship breath and you're going,
God, dang it. And thenit's about a calendar year and you go,
I haven't had fredos in a year. Yeah, they haven't met the
spot downstairs. They're so good andI almost got them, but I'm like,
eh, you flip that thing over, And I mean not that it

(38:52):
looks like I've looked at a lotof nutritional facts, but they are horrific
for you who cares. They're likefour hundred calories for a small bag worth
every so good. And the chilicheese ones are great, ye elite or
if you put him on top ofsome chili cheese songs, are beans in

(39:14):
it? Parker, You're you're froma different generation, but I hope and
I'm gonna cross my fingers. You'veseen the original Willy Wonka, the one
for the second Okay, gotcha, that's the og. It's the best one
in this not even close. CharlieChalamey was solid, but he's not my
Wanka. The only won The kidwho played will Charlie in the original Willy

(39:36):
Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. PeterOstrom was his name. He never did
a movie before or after Crazy One, one hit Wonder nailed it, ended
up being a veterinarian in New York. He's sixty six and retired. Oh.
He says he gets a royalty checkevery three months for Willy Wonka and
the Chocolate Factory. How much doesCharlie Peter Ostrom get every three months?

(40:00):
Or Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory? What does he make every three months?
Sauce you go first. Well,it's weird because it's one of these
bits that we've been that every timewe do one of these, someone will
say, and now I'm gonna bethe guy to say it, it's either
like sixteen cents or thirty grand I'mgonna say he gets fifteen dollars fifteen bucks

(40:24):
every three months, Parker, let'sgo I was the same deal. I
don't know, you got feel likeyou guys got the leg up on me
here, you got some background knowledgeof this. I'll go with the sixteen
cents option. You're gonna go sixteencents, Zacho, We're gonna go thirty
grand and sixteen cents. Thirty grandand sixteen cents. Kind of piggybacking sauce,
and he piggybacked you. That's allright, oh man, you love

(40:45):
piggybacking. Max. I'll go withlike somewhere kind of in the middle.
Let's say like three hundred, threehundred bucks sauce. You guessed fifteen dollars.
Yeah, you were off by fiftypercent. He makes thirty dollars ten

(41:05):
he makes ten bucks. Ten percentof or fifty percent of ten is five,
So you missed it by five bucks. Ten dollars. Ten bucks every
three months he gets for Wily Wonkaand the chocolate factory. I mean,
ayah Wonka bar. Yeah, justone, you only need one. I
had a substitute teacher who was inI guess one of the more popular episodes

(41:29):
of mash and he would get afifty dollar check like every three months and
would take his wife out to dinner. Well, our guy Dave Ryan is
in jingle all the way his voices, right, I don't know. I
think they turned. You know,I've never seen either, but I think
in one of the scenes, KatieWB is on, well, they're driving

(41:50):
to get the Lightning Man or whateverit's called, and he posts it.
But he gets like seventeen cents ayear. That's pretty hot. Yeah,
Tarantino is ditching the movie Critic thatwas supposed to be his tenth and final
film, So, according to sources, he's not skipping his last film.
He's still gonna do one more, but it's not gonna be this one.

(42:12):
He's gonna come up with a differentidea. Really, it's weird because they
just, like within the last couplemonths, announced all the casting and stuff,
like Tom Cruise was supposed to bein it. I guess Brad Pitt
was gonna be his character from Onceupon a Time in Hollywood and all that
stuff seemed like it was pretty faralong for him to just be like,
nah, right, I'm good.I thought the same thing yesterday when I
saw it. I was like isn'tthis in like post production that maybe he's

(42:35):
gonna maybe just going for the moneything and just gonna do kill Bill three
and call it a day. Hasanybody ever seen his teeth? I think
he always just and does the smilehe I've ever seen Quin doesn't make that
face does. That's a good point. Brian Cox from Succession says Joaquin Phoenix
was terrible in Napoleon. He saidit was terrible. Really, yeah,

(42:58):
I've never hell out of it.I don't know. Didn't you see it?
No? Hawk ended up staying it. I didn't. Hawk's review wasn't
that great, which is always uh, you know, an indictment on a
movie. So I didn't end upgoing to see it, but I wanted
to, But yeah I did.It did not get good reviews on uh
Joaquin's part or I believe that wasa Ridley Scott bit, Parker Fox.
Does Conan O'Brien do anything for youor is that just a generational miss?

(43:21):
Yeah? I mean I just Iknow the name. It's yeah. He
turns sixty one today. He's thegoat. I would highly recommend diving into
his new show. Not only ishe sixty one today, his new show
Conan O'Brien Must Go debuts on MaxHBO Max Show Travel show Can't Wait.
Man, did you see him onHot Ones? I saw the clips that
went viral. Yeah, he's viralfor days now. Yeah, so he

(43:44):
has never seen that show. Hegoes on Hot Ones and pretty much kills
it right. He basically says, bring it on. And then this weird
just wave of positive Conan O'Brien storiesjust floods the Internet for like forty eight
hours, everybody just telling stories abouthow great Conan O'Brien is. There was
a guy that said he interned forConan as like a production assistant. He

(44:04):
said, there's like twenty or twentyfive production assistants for the summer, and
he said it's pretty standard for younot to run into Conan, that you
don't work directly with him. Andthe story was basically on day one or
two, when he was introducing himselfto all of them for the summer,
he shook one of their hands andwas like, don't steal anything from me,
sarcastically right, And then four monthslater he hadn't seen Conan, hadn't

(44:28):
talked to him. They didn't forma friendship all that stuff, and at
the goodbye meeting, he's saying goodbyeto all of them and he's shaking all
their hands and he stares the samekid. Right at the end, he
goes, I know you stole fromme. Brilliant. It was a four
month Jokey waited four months to tellthe kid, I know you stole from
me. That's funny. It's likethe Dumb and Dumber one. Yeah.

(44:50):
God, I love Conan O'Brien.I will definitely be checking that out either
today or this weekend. Actually,I'm super busy today. I gotta draft
somebody in program password at one.I got other stuff going on. But
this weekend, maybe let's end onthis last, but not least, A
person pretending to be Aaron Rodgers conda gullible woman in Ohio. She thought

(45:12):
she was talking to Aaron for monthsonline. She was confident with him because
the profile picture had a photo ofAaron Roders wearing a Green Bay Packers hat,
and he was quote talking personally abouthimself, even with details. She
was so sure that he was legitthat she gave Aaron Rodgers her driver's license
number, her social Security number andbank account details. Come on, she

(45:37):
got conned on something called Viber,a messaging app called I'm not familiar with
anybody knows. I don't know that. I'm about the v I b E.
That's hot. That's odd. She'sclearly never heard of it, says
free and secure calls, not sosecure where she's not gonna have to worry

(46:04):
about other people scamming her while she'sgetting scammed. So that's that's a good
point. Point. Yeah, that'sthe bright side of it. Good point,
Zacho, Parker, do you haveclass today? No? I took
eight terms, so I'm just chillingfor the rest of this semess. It's
good to be eight year senior,Parker. Good and go to Al's breakfast.
Yeah, man, I joined hisorder. Yeah, that's not that

(46:25):
toast, Parker. I would Igot that bit with Lieber. Look,
Greg Doyle clearly wants to be friendswith Clark. Why don't you try to
be friends with Parker and take himoff tomorrow? Friends and Parker and I
am to buy It's n I lIf you want to be seen next to
him, you have to use hisname, image and likeness. We can
we can do that. I canthat that'll pay it for Yeah, I

(46:45):
can't go to that. I'm nexttime, we'll go. We'll do.
What do you have to do?I have three meetings today and a password
draft, three meetings out. I'mmoving and shaking. Man, I got
stuff going on. At least theycontact you. Would you just take the
kid to breakfast? Can't you? You're playing MLB the show? Aren't you

(47:07):
got my big one gamer? Yeah? You're picking a video game over Parker
and Breakfast, aren't you? Theonly people I wouldn't pick a video game
over are my wife and Muppet.Okay, it's not the first time.
At some point we're gonna get youinto play Initials. But tomorrow Brian O'Neill,
