This is KFE in News with ChrisHockey, presented by the Saint Paul Saints.
Good morning, as Zach Calversonior andfor Chris Hockey, this is the
news thanks to the Saint Paul Saints, who are on the road this week,
but return home to cchs Field nextweek on Tuesday the twenty third,

(00:25):
and you should get your tickets SaintsBaseball dot com. It's going to be
a fun summer over there at cchsField. It's also going to be a
fun summer in Minneapolis, as CaitlinClark's moved to the w NBA is generating
massive interest, which is also drivingup ticket prices. For her first game
in Minnesota, the Indiana Fever willplay the Minnesota Links at Target Center on

(00:49):
July fourteenth. The average ticket pricefor most Links games is under fifty dollars,
but all remaining tickets for the gameagainst the Fever started over two one
hundred dollars. A courtside seats arecurrently priceding more than fourteen hundred dollars,
and those who miss the first gamebetween the Fever and Links will get a
second opportunity when Indiana returns to theTarget Center on August twenty fourth big year

(01:18):
for the WNBA and Kaitlin Clark forsure. Yeah, that's great. It's
gonna be a phenomenon. I hopeit holds. I hope it lasts,
all right, that's the test here. Everybody knows it's going to start off
as an absolute whirlwin. But canthey sustain it and keep some momentum going,
I'd be awesome. What would benice is if there's a couple more
stars that come up and then reallydo. It's tough with just the one

(01:40):
because I believe that WNBA has notyet been profitable. So if we want
them to start getting more money, the league has to make money, and
that starts with having star power suchas her. But you get a couple
more that it really will take off. We shall see as Minnesota gears up
for him. As mosquito season, the Metropolitan Mosquito Control District has called in

(02:04):
seasonal workers three weeks ahead of scheduledue to a mild winter. Around one
hundred and ninety staff, including fieldworkers and lab technicians, have been hired
to manage mosquitoes in the Twin CitiesMetro. The MMCD uses granular pellets to
treat Mosquito Larva, aiming to reducethe mosquito population this summer compared to the

(02:25):
previous year. However, whether conditionscould influence the impact, with rain potentially
altering these situations. So do youguys ever you know, I don't know,
maybe have some driveway drinks or somethingwith the neighborhood. And there's fifteen
twenty people hanging out talking and aboutthree people are getting obliterated by mosquitos and
everybody else like, I don't feelanything. I'm almost always the one who

(02:50):
gets obliterated. My blood must bedelicious, right thermosel core. But here's
my point. So guess what Ido. Because I'm one of those people
that just as a mosquito magnet, you know what I do? Guess go
for it? Do you stay inside? Go inside? Ah? Yeah,
mosquitos freaking love me. I wouldmy own family does. There's this fascinating

(03:13):
experiment, and it's not even anexperiment because it's been worked on for years
in the Florida Keys. Because ofall of the diseases that have been carried
by mosquitoes. They came up witha way to genetically modify some of them,
release them, and so during themating. It basically implants something in
the genetic code that kills off thefemales, which are the ones that are

(03:38):
the ones that bite and carry thedisease. Because apparently they've done studies and
there is no value to mosquitoes inthe grand scheme of nature. So this
had been done in like Brazil,I believe in other places. So there
was opposition because people were worried aboutunintended consequences. But it's very interesting to
see and it's worked. It's beentwo or three years since they've done this,

(04:00):
so I'm eager to see because wehave them so bad in Minnesota,
and it's not just the annoyance, but there is danger with it. So
this could be something that maybe theytake them out. Mosquitoes, I agree.
Top two worst thing in Minnesota besidesleft lane drivers. Yes, in
the poleads and the pole AADs.Jo, Who do you like more mosquitoes?

(04:20):
Are the poleads? Well, mosquitoesonly suck blood out of you.
The pole ads sucked money out ofyou. Yes, I'm just teening up.
Is worse than mosquitoes? Oh man, I hate mosquitos. I don't
get bit a lot music, butyour blood's disgusting. It was last summer

(04:43):
where you were in here and I'mlike, what is wrong with your feet?
You're like mosquitoes. Man, Igot destroyed. You've got destroyed by
them. Look, you know youcan blame my poker failures on a lot
of things. Bad play, rightin, bad impulses, instincts. I
got obliterated by mosquitoes the day beforeI went to the main event last year.

(05:05):
I could not stop itching and scratching. It lasted weeks. I saw
it. I thought three weeks Icouldn't get rid of the freaking bug bites.
I got obliterated one day before Ileft, and it was hell on
earth for the two days that Iwas Yeah, are you alert? This
is the same way abated and theyget swollen, And it was the same

(05:28):
way too. It looks like hadchicken pockets. He's like, what's wrong
with your legs? I'm like, none of your business. The other day
it looked like a rash or adisease. It was just for sure.
And I wasn't even outside very long. And of course when I got that
badly bitten, I go this isthe one thousandth reminder to stay inside.

(05:54):
Thermosel thermosel. Put one of thoseby you up. When I had a
lake haul, I would You're sorich, I told it. But the
unmlaxed the mosquitoes are horrendous, horriI would be shirtless playing bags, and
I'd have the thermo cell near meand would have no bites. Those things

(06:15):
are if you drunk, playing bagsand drinking in the summer, very few
things, yes, having like anice Siga cigar, cigar, nice American
spirit. No, But if you'redrunk enough, you don't feel you don't
feel mosquitoes until the next day whenyour leg looks like you have chicken pox.

(06:38):
Yeah, that's actually how this timethermic thermoseel, I'll show you which
one to get. Yep about howabout this time? It is? How
bad it was? There was aguy I was playing with in Vegas.
It was like no offense. Butwhat happened to dinner? First? I
mean some rando, right, somerando even asked like what happened to your
legs? And like mosquitoes? Man? Actually, oh yeah, it was

(06:59):
that bad work well so even againsausage, Like what why just your feet?
I don't get It's just because Iwas wearing shorts the day before I
left, and it was the RexRyan of Mosquitos. I was wearing Mesha
leggings. Yeah, and they bitright through them. The attacked another job.
You had an outdoor pit I had, I had a performance, I
did my routine and I got attacked. Anyway, Mosquitoes are the worst sus

(07:24):
It's really awesome marijuana. Oh here, well, god, here's pop day
is tomorrow. Chad Abbitt loves pottalk on uh well, the eve of
the eve of four twenty Minnesota lawmakers, I was a step closer to setting
up a framework for state wide cannabismarketplace. The Minnesota House footed sixty nine

(07:47):
to sixty two yesterday to allow theOffice of Cannabis Management to begin issuing dispensary
licenses as soon as this summer.A lottery would be used if there are
more applicants than licenses available, there'sgoing to be a million applicants. The
Senate still needs to approve a similarcannabis bill before the proposal can be sent

(08:11):
to you, all, Governor Walls, But as soon as this summer,
you could be buying some legal wit. Crazy. If you would have told
me twenty five years ago that whathappens first. Can I bet ten dollars
on Max Homa to win the Mastersor smoke weed in my backyard? Legally,
I would have bet every dime Ihad that legalized sports betting was going

(08:35):
to be first. And that's whysports betting should be illegal, because look
at you would have lost and yourfamily would suffer you. Son of a
bet almost got me there last way, what I had a pretty big ticket
on home of that small though. This is classic Minnesota, putting the cart
so freaking far ahead of the horse. These morons in the process of trying

(08:58):
to be like, let's be awesome, let's get weed legal, and it
has to be grown here and all, and then they didn't allow licensing,
so where you're gonna get the weed, you need to grow weed to sell
weed, morons, And so nowas soon as this summer there's still gonna
be a shortage. And then guesswhat they're gonna do. They're gonna buy
it from their body that they've beenbuying from since high school. So this

(09:22):
classic Minnesota not thinking it through. So everyone excited for next year it's gonna
be it will be legal next year. Good luck finding it. You'll have
to go to one of the reservationsbecause they've been able to set up those
but and even they were struggling, right, and they still have been struggling
keeping up with the demand because againthat was right, and those businesses have

(09:43):
enough money. So it's the Ithis is just classic. So hopefully some
people get to grow in. ButI would think, how about those licenses
start like now, summer is acouple months away. What why is this
taking so damn long? Because ofthe way they have set up. They
had it set up to favor asmall group to say, let's give them
a chance. That group didn't getinvolved as much as they had expected.

(10:07):
So then they're going, we areso far behind the eight ball. We
have to get this moving now.And so they're doing. It needs to
pass the Senate, needs to besigned by the governor, and then they
can start moving forward with it.And there's still going to be a shortage.
If only there was like a freemarket that we could just, you
know, if one let people justdo what they want to, you know,

(10:28):
do to make money and make theproduct and serve the public. You
far, if only, all right, do one more? And then we
got to do dot com. Tomhere in a second. All right,
I mean yeah, we got firstLady Joe Biden come into town to speak
to state educators today. She'll makean appearance at Education Minnesota and their conference

(10:50):
this evening. She traveled to thestate last June for a fundraiser and an
appearance at the Twin Cities Priparade, but today's event well as part of a
weekend trip to would stop stops inColorado and Tennessee. So welcome to town.
First Lady Jill Biden. Okay,John criesel Man, thanks for your
time. Thank you to somebody.I appreciate it. I love you guys

(11:13):
very much. Thanks for having mein. And if your business could use
an uplifting presentation, get up mywebsite. John creesel dot com. Let's
get it on the calendar. Thanksagain for having me in. I love
you Dad. Cheers. Teo.Appreciate the special appearance as well. Did
you see you, buddy? Youhaving me? Yeah, it was great.

(11:33):
Next Thursday'll be back and fantastic.Drafted perish in a second, Marty
in a second. Well call dotcom Tom in a minute as well to
talk NFL draft. Brian O'Neal inabout thirty minutes. Or so he's playing
initials in an hour. Crees to see you later. Power Do you
want to chow back after this?Huh not? Fan your Minnesota Remember Rolls

(12:15):
tip off their twenty twenty four NBAplayoff run tomorrow afternoon against the Phoenix Suns.
Pregame starts at two pm. Rightyere an FM one hundred point three
k fan and anywhere you go onthe free iHeartRadio app. It's time for
Fan five on the Power Trip, presented by All Around Property Preservation so sauce.

(12:39):
Normally we do sports right now herewith you right your bit. This
is Fan five thanks to our friendsit all around, but this is still
kind of your bit because you bookeddot com Tom. Tom Pelisarow of the
NFL Network. Yes, shock you. I'm if somebody do else, somebody
else do the work. But youlike the NFL Draft, so you can
ask Tom questions and it's still kindof about you because this is your favorite

(13:01):
thing. Hi, Tom, howare we doing for those? We're doing
fine? I think even Saws yesterdaysaid he was burnt out of NFL draft
talking. Then him and Lieber talkedfor a thirty straight minute forty five it's
that time. And I would saythis too. The amount of uncertainty in
this draft is also something that peoplewithin the league, you know, have

(13:24):
a lot of questions about. Imean, every conversation I have is basically
going round and round on what's goingto happen in terms of the trades up
at the top and how the quarterbackfall, because you could have anywhere from
four to six quarterbacks go in thefirst Washington had been putting out word for
a while, even before Adam Peterssaid at publicly yesterday that they're not moving.

(13:45):
But until we know what Washington isdoing for sure, New England's not
going to move. And so youknow, everybody's talking. The Patriots definitely
have had conversations. There's a bunchof teams, including the Vikings, we've
had conversations about moving up. Butit's a matter of what does Washington do
at number two. I would say, coming off of the group visit that

(14:05):
they did the other day, thefeeling would be Jaden Daniels is the most
likely number two overall pick. Butcertainly, you know Washington has thoroughly investigated
Drake May as well as JJ McCarthy. So we'll see in any action in
terms of trades may well happen onthe clock, which should be great for
our ratings. TOM. Earlier thisweek, we saw the Washington Commanders invite

(14:31):
five or excuse me, four outof the top six quarterbacks, obviously not
Caleb Williams, and a lot ofpeople question that, saying why are they
having all these guys together, includingJade and Daniels agent reportedly on Twitter was
pissed about it. What do youmake of them inviting all those quarterbacks together
for one event? I try notto read into Amoji's too much sauce,

(14:54):
which I think you responded with likethat one with like the raised eyebrow one
which me taking in multiple different ways. Maybe it was the thinker right the
tand on the chin, I can'tremember. All the emojis looked the same
to me. I did not getthe sense that that was a point of
frustration. Now you know Jaden Daniels, everybody knows as a relationship with Antonio
Pierce, who's now the Raiders headcoach, going back to their days in

(15:16):
Arizona State. You know, ina perfect world to give everybody for sure
seerum. I think Paul Sides wouldsay they'd love Jayden Daniels to be a
Raider, but you know, ifWashington decides to make that pick, then
Jayden's going to be headed to theCommanders. I think that, you know,
I know that the theory on thegroup visit was something Adam Peters brought
with him from the forty nine ers. Where you get all these guys together,

(15:37):
you see how they interact as agroup. You see how you know
they interact with other players. Youknow, they took them to top Golf
on the first day, which that'sa new one for me in terms of
the top thirty visits. But everybody'sgot different ways that they do this.
Some teams like to do them allat once. The Vikings have done that,
certainly. You know when Rich Fielmanwas the GM, they did that

(16:00):
every year. They did a lotof their top thirties at once. Other
teams like to spread them out andhave a lot of individual time with everybody.
I don't know if there's a rightor wrong way, but yeah,
I mean having four of the topsix quarterbacks all together at once, that
I think that's fair to say thatthat's a new one. The other pick,
of course that Vikings fans are lookingat is the third overall picking that
is owned by the Patriots, Andyesterday or the other day, Elliott Wolf

(16:22):
mentioned that that pick is for saleand they are open for business. What
do you make of that, Well, they've been open for business to the
extent that they've listened, they've hadconversations. But again, until we know
Washington does, the Patriots aren't goingto move because Okay, we can sit
here and say, let's say inthe world where you know, we all

(16:44):
know, Caleb Williams, barring somethingcompletely unforeseen, is going to go number
one to Chicago. Let's say JaydenDaniels goes number two. New England is
the team that when I talk toother teams, because everybody's projecting what you
know their opponents are going to do. That's the team that people think makes
the most sense for Drake May becauseyou could fit him for a year behind
Jacoby Brissett. May comes out ofa really overly simple North Carolina offense.

(17:08):
He's going to need some time todevelop. He probably shouldn't be on the
field in the short term, soyou sit him for a year. He's
a big body quarterback playing in badweather in the AFC East that would make
a lot of sense. So thenthe question becomes, do they stand in
and take a guy right there whocan be their quarterback moving forward, or
do you wait and see if youget the godfather type of an offer where

(17:29):
you can build out the rest ofyour roster. I think that the Patriots
at this point have a pretty goodidea the framework on what they might be
able to get for that number threepick, But depending what happens to number
two, their quarterback might be sittingthere. And so again I think that,
you know, there's a lot ofdifferent ways this can go. There's
a lot of different things that canhappen. If they get called tomorrow and
offered three entire drafts, maybe thingsare different, But I would anticipate if

(17:52):
the Patriots move, it's probably somethingthat happens on the clock on Thursday night,
once the card is turned in andwe know for c who goes number
two. So obviously, the mainthing that we would love to talk about
is what do you think the Vikingsplan is? Because you just said,
you know, you think the Patriotsare going to stay at three and take
Drake May, So what do youthink the Vikings plan is going forward?

(18:15):
With all the subtributes that happens thistime of year. I think that what
Chucy and o Famnsa said whenever hehad his press conference, think that was
last week or earlier this week.I think that was a pretty decent lens
into how they're thinking, which isthey've got several quarterbacks they like up at
the top, and they've got otherquarterbacks they like at a certain value point.

(18:37):
I mean, just you know, the Vikings are one of the best
places if you're a quarterback or you'rea quarterbacks agent. A lot of people
would say Minnesota is the best spotfor any of these guys because you're walking
into a really good situation with JustinJefferson and Jordan Addison and Kevin O'Connell calling
the plays, a good defense ora defense that certainly has potential. They're
going to need add on that sideof the ball as well, with Bryan

(18:59):
fluor Is calling the shots. It'sa really good type of situation, and
you can argue, you know, there are there are reasons to believe each
of these guys would fit into whatthey do. I mean, sure,
if Caleb Williams were available, Yeah, the Vikings would be all over that.
Almost every team in the league unlessyou have Patrick Mahomes would be all
over that. But with you know, Jayden Daniels for instant, that one's

(19:21):
a little bit different. But he'sa really talented passer. He does play
on time. He's got some youknow, run threat as well to him.
You know Drake May big, tallpocket passer, but also can get
out and move. He's a goodathlete. You can see that working out.
You know, Michael Pennix is aninteresting once you're getting a little bit
further down the line because you knowthe knocks on Michael Pennix's he okay,

(19:44):
he plays great when he's in rhythmand it's a clean pocket. But the
moment that things you know, breakdown, the moment that you know the
things are not on schedule, thenyou don't know what's gonna happen. Well,
it's a little bit like Kirk Cousins, excuse me, and so so
you know, you could potentially workwith that, but you're probably not taking
that guy up at the top.You know, Bo Nicks, he's played

(20:07):
started sixty one college games, likehe's full on Tommy boy, he's been
in college forever. But he's comingout as a coach's kid. He's really
smart. You know, he's accurate. But the entire Oregon offense basically was
just short passes, you know, but you could see where as a caretaker
type of a guy who's going todo what you're asking him to do,
there'd be value in that. Butyou know you're gonna get different opinions on

(20:30):
that. There's a lot of peoplesin the league who think Nix is really
a two with like mid level starterupside. And all that brings us to
JJ McCarthy, who, of coursehas been talked about a lot as a
potential Vikings did here. I stillcan't one hundred percent rule him out.
In Washington, he was part ofthat big group that they brought in.
He killed it at as Pro Day. And I know that some people are

(20:52):
going to laugh about that because like, you got all this tape, Why
why, you know, do wecare about them throwing seventy routes on air?
And I think in a lot ofcases I agree with that with McCarthy
though. Number one, he threwthe ball so little on tape that there
were a lot of questions about kindof what throws can he make, and
people wanted to see him be youknow, more accurate and evaluate all those

(21:14):
things. But number two, Ican't remember another pro day where so many
people who were there came away andtold me like that was unbelievable, Like
ad one head coach to say tome, I didn't know he could roll
like that. This is a guywho maybe there's a little bit more all
the questions. Everybody is like, well, you know, why didn't they
throw the ball more? Why doyou throw the ball one time in the

(21:34):
second half again Penn State, Well, Jim Harbaugh's kind of done a lot
of that, and Michigan's done thatfor a long time, just running the
crap out of the ball. Butalso, you know, yeah, there
least some unknown. It's really aboutwhat are you actually getting with JJ McCarthy.
But I think, again, asmart guy who's going to get the
ball to the right places and hasbeen a winner, and it's a plus

(21:56):
in terms of his interviews and allthat. You can see value in that
as well. I know it's areally long answer, but the point is
everybody's talked so much about the vikingstrading up, and one hundred percent they've
evaluated all those things. They've madethe calls they were in Baton Rouge last
night having dinner with Jade and Daniels. Not because they think Jayden Daniels is
going to slide to eleven. It'swell, if he does get into a
position where we can trade up forhim, we want to have all the

(22:18):
information. I think that. Ithink it is safe to say that outside
of Caleb Williams, who is goingto go to Chicago, something goes completely
sideways here. Those other five guys, I don't think you can rule out
any of them. It's just amatter of at what point between round one
and round two would it makes sensefor the Minnesota Vikings. Lastly, do
you think the Vikings and the Vikingsfans have to worry about the New York

(22:42):
Giants taking a quarterback? And doyou buy that steam it's possible the Giants
to get another team that has certainlymade calls and understand the marketplace here,
You've had to different people. Somebelieve that it's you know, real and
they really want to move up.Others think that it's you know, there's
a little bit of smoke screen aspectto it. I know this the lockdown

(23:04):
to Daniel Jones for thirty five millionand change this year and that after that
they're out of the guarantees. BrianDabole Joe Shane coming off a rough year
two after you know, a surprisingyear one, and they're gonna need to
get their own quarterback at some point, unless Daniel Jones can stay healthy and
become the guy that you know theywere projecting the upside on when they did
that contract. You know, Iwould say the team's are threats to take

(23:26):
quarterbacks beyond the top three. It'sthe Giants at six, it is the
Vikings at eleven. It's the Broncosat twelve, although again I think that
they are probably more likely to tradedown than up. We'll see how that
plays out. And then it's theRaiders at thirteen. There's obviously some teams
lurking later in round one, likethe Rams. They could come up before

(23:47):
the Vikings second pick. If guyslike Pennis and Knicks are still on the
board and you're trying to figure thatout. This is the gamesmanship in all
this, which is, you know, the Vikings may think, okay,
we're just gonna let it fall tous at eleven, but if somebody leap
frogs you for that guy, youknow, now you might be missing out
on the fourth or fifth quarterbacks inthis draft as well. It's gonna be
fascinating. I would just say Iknow this. You know, Quacy and

(24:10):
Kevin and those guys, they've doneall the homework. They've gone through every
scenario they have in mind, whatthey would be willing to do to get
the certain points. They've had thoseconversations, and now there's not a whole
lot more you can do than gatherthe final information, wait and see,
and be ready to pounce on thebest opportunity for the organization. You're the
best, Tom, Thank you so, Tom appreciate it. Dude, thanks

(24:32):
for talking during that segment. Corey, good talking to you. But this
is this is Sauce's super Bowl.If I had you on for the World
Series of Poker and that dumb sonof a bitch asked a question, I
go get out of here. Thisis my time to shine. He's so
geeked about this, man, sohe was super pumped to have you on.
Dude, we'll have you on againsoon. Man, I can't blame

(25:00):
him. Man. Hi, Hi, Marnie Marning, Marnie Parish Parish,
Marny him the doc. I'm notgonna touch the lights because if you touch

(25:23):
him, they start flickering and thenthey get headaches. Are you okay?
I'm doing great? How are yougreat? Great job with darm by the
way, Oh thank you? Ithought they were wonderful questions. Wait to
let me ask a question. Forgod sake, she can monopolize that entire
interview. Harry asked one question, what pick the Vikings have? No,

(25:45):
isn't a number picked the mikeys?I bet you a kaneyak he doesn't.
You might have even said it inthat segment. There's no way he was
listening because Mark was waiting for meto ask a question. But you monopolized.
I bet you Kaneyaky doesn't. Ithink? Can what any one of
them? Go forward? Parish? What pick do they have? Trying to

(26:07):
think of which one might be right? In my head? Uh, I'm
gonna go eleven. Yeah, Ididn't get to ask a question, and
I lost chicken. Yes, it'sgonna be a good day. Not my
day, Brian o'neilo. The MinnicotaVikings should be here, surely Marti Gelder
is here, Mark Parrish is here. Power Trip returns after this. Huh
on the pan it's time for Vikingsus on the Power Trip presented by Joe

(26:37):
Truck Excess series. All right, not a lot of news thanks to our
friends at Radcobe because we just hadTom on last segment to break down the
Vikings draft. The Vikings Draft eleventhparish knew that. Yeah, next Thursday
and twenty third. Unless they're wheelingand dealing, which everybody expects them to
do, we'll see if they moveup, we'll see if they stay put.
That's next Thursday night, Round oneof the NFL Draft. Sauce,

(27:00):
I can't wait. It's going tobe very very excited. I'm very excited.
It's six days away. My wifeand I well, I have a
tradition that every draft day I getyang Ze Chinese food, and I set
a reminder of a week out lastweek and my wife texts me and goes,
did you think you were going toforget? And so yeah, I'm

(27:21):
overly excited. I can't wait.I don't want time to fly by.
But I hope I can wake uptomorrow and it's Monday, because let's make
it happen. Zah, can youturn my button bar down just a little
bit because it sounded is very loudfor whatever reason. But if you want
to go back a year ago,the Vikings drafted Jordan Addison in round one
and sausted this whow wow wow wow. I wow wow wow aven Sor and

(27:55):
I don't know why I reacted likethat, but I was pumped. I
love the draft. I can't wait. If you can't tell, what is
your Yang draft night order? We'llprobably get a couple orders of steam dumplings,
because steam dumplings are a plus. We'll probably get some beef and broccoli,
some pork fried rice, maybe acouple other of goodies. Yeah,

(28:17):
a couple other of goodiesple other ofgoodies. Yeah. So that was last
year when the Vikings drafted Jordan AddisonMarnie. Yesterday, I had the second
pick in the Program Password Invitational Draft, and here it was Sauce's reaction after
I made my selection. Whoa, whoa, you are going to be a

(28:37):
tough team. Did you think Iwas picking you? Uh? Yeah you
did? Yeah? Because I saidI would only play I'm not kidding.
I may have played for Marnie becauseI love Marnie. But if like who
else had picks? Uh guards guards, I like Donaldson, You're fine,
with almost every fine with all ofthem. Yeah, but I only wanted

(29:00):
to play for your team because it'sthe only chance I have to win the
entire thing. Why would you saythat? Because he's the Randy Moss.
All you gotta do is chuck itup and he'll catch it. Well,
you're a great, great catcher,Corey. I guess you and I would
do very well. I just likewhen he picks me, it makes me
feel good inside. Whoa marn youwere struggling about the first pick. I

(29:26):
would not want the first pick.I I. I attempted to make a
draft board. I really did thenight before. I kind of looked at
the selections and Matt and I weretalking about it, and it was actually
I'm like, can you help me, Like, let's break this down.
I mean, we spent like allof ten minutes on it, but there

(29:47):
was no clear cut choice. Andthen when I got in the room and
I sat by Barb and we werekind of talking about it in the commercial
break, she brought up a coupleof names and then I looked at the
board and I was like, yeah, dang, that guy's really good.
That guy, And then all ofa sudden, I was like Oh shoot,
I have no idea who I'm gonnapick. I thought it was pretty
easy I had. I had basicallythe groups. They eight people split into

(30:08):
two groups. It was people thatI think I can win with and people
who do the Vikings pregame show.Oh right, gosh, that poor man.
I'm on both sides of that.I do the pregame show. I
meant the whole thing. Oh yeah, yeah, they do not let me
do that. No, no,yeah, you had a pretty good segment

(30:29):
though. He got thank you,so did you. He got thrown down
a flight of stairs. Every timehe got back up, he was just
kicked back down the stairs. Muscotabused yesterday. What a good sport though.
Yeah, he was there. Hetook like a cham Yeah he was
in her jokes. He was laughingat himself. Yeahs and Gary just told
me the like week of his lifeat the Masters. He had a great

(30:51):
time. We'll hear about it onMonday when he's back to to talk about
it. But he had a greattime. He doesn't care. That game
is that password game is is great. It's a great bit the tournament with
this format, with the chimes beforeyou could make your pick like the little
details. I thought it was greatradio. I'm very excited for the tournament.
I can't believe my draw in roundone and my side of the bracket.

(31:12):
It's real tough, real tough. You got the worst matchup, correct,
Yeah, yeah, it's gonna beright. Basically, are playing the
Cyborgs. You have no Arch andSweedburg out of the gates. That's there.
They should be the favorite. Ifyou can beat them, we're gonna
smoke you in round two. Yeah, well, why not just start with
the best. We gotta play thebest. Eventually, if we're gonna win,

(31:32):
we gotta beat everybody, So gottabeat them all. Why not start
with the Phoenix Suns? Wait? What, Oh, well play it.
They aren't the best. The Wolvesare the best, Marty. Oh,
that's a good point. Yeah, for the best round they're gone them.
Well, let's kind of go aroundthe room here because Brian O'Neil should be
here in a minute. Just youand Zacho can run down and grab him.
It sounds like Sam's already downstairs fromthe Vikings bit. Let's let's kind

(31:55):
of go around the room because Paris, your squad is done now. The
while wrapped it up last night, they lost an ec I'll crack him.
You want to give us a quickrecap of what you thought of this year?
What went right? What went wrong? Oh boy, this might take
a while, you know, justbuzz kill all the morning's time. What
is this Tuesday? It was not? You know, I can't God,
he takes the dramatic sense brilliant ata hydrate. My eyes leaking like crazy?

(32:20):
Yeah that is weird yet because yetsorry, quickly I thought, and
it's probably a little bit of this, but when John gave his wonderful emotional
message about his dad who just passedaway, I looked over at you and
you I looked like you were tearingup, and I think it might have
hit you a little. But nowI'm like, you got you got to
remember that like even a car leaksoil, right, So as much as

(32:44):
I was touched by John's speech,a robot more than likely just leaks oil
then feels emotion. Yeah, goodpoint. So I feel bad for John,
But these tears are based on somethingelse. Mark, you were saying,
uh no that, uh it wasa tough year. They're just the
coaching change to slow start to slowstart for capriz of and still finished with

(33:05):
forty six. Literally, it's onlya maunter of time until we have our
first fifty goal scorer here. It'sa while. It's just pretty amazing to
think about. Boldi had a goodyear when he got when Joehnson came back,
got him going. Unfortunately Johansson kindof shut it down after that.
But uh, you know, Boldie, obviously faber Rossi, there was there
was a lot of good ch alot of good in there that that kind

(33:29):
of rose to the top. Butit was just a tough year. They
really couldn't just find ascride the coachingchange, the trip to Europe that kind
of delayed the coaching change. Yeah, the injuries were just it seemed like
every injury was someone absolutely major andwe just got bit by the injury bug
big time this year. And andthere's a couple guys that that that should

(33:52):
be a little bit nervous on eitherif they're gonna have a spot next year,
even if they're on the team nextyear, that that definitely have to
either pick it up or need tofind a young guy that maybe come replace
them. That being said, it'sa good season to go home with a
horrible, horrible feeling in your stomachto work out even harder and be ready

(34:13):
to go even harder than next year. And that's especially the core guys,
and I guarantee you they are thethe Felinos, Hartman's, you know,
Caprizov's ex Brodeine's spurge in favor thatyou know, these kind of years are
tough, tough, tough to swallow. It sucks when you go through one
of these. They happen where agood team just just kind of struggles.

(34:36):
I've been on these teams and maybesometimes there's not really a one reason,
it's just kind of a bunch ofreasons, a bunch of little things that
just added up, in my opinion, and yeah, work out even harder
and come back. And obviously theyrealized that they learned a hard lesson this
year that a slow start can reallycome back and bite you. So so
hopefully next year they come back evenharder. They're ready to go. I

(34:59):
can imagine capriz Off will be becauseif he gets forty six and he pretty
much took the first twenty games up, I shouldn't say that he's always works
hard, just co just couldn't findthe back of the net. You know,
literally, I would put some moneyin capriz Off getting fifty next year.
What a story. Mark Marns.Your squad starts tomorrow, though in
a big way. At two thirtyGame one against the Phoenix Suns. The

(35:21):
Wolves on DraftKings are still slight favoritesfor the game, but they are underdogs
for the series. Oh interesting.I think it's going to be a great
series, and I do honestly thinkthe Wolves are going to win this series.
They had a great regular season thatwas not a fluke. I know
they struggled against the Suns, butI think the first quarter is very important.

(35:42):
Game one obviously is very important, but even the first quarter, I
think we'll see the Wolves look alittle different. I think we'll see the
different matchup strategies, whatever, becausethat's what playoffs are about. The game.
The last game that we played inthe regular season against the Suns that
did not go well, Anthony Edwardshad seven shot attempts, seven field goal

(36:05):
attempts. He averages nineteen just shots. Nobody on the Wolves team, not
one single player, had double digitfield goal attempts. That has only happened
one other time in entire team history. So we're going to change a few
things and We got a chance andI can't wait for tomorrow. Two thirty.
What a great star time too,What a good bit for you,

(36:28):
Marns two thirty. That's ideal perfection. Yeah, that is perfection. When
we played on Sunday afternoon, therewas a great energy in the building.
We don't need a nine pm everybodyrecord up atmosphere to be a great atmosphere
at Target Center a Saturday afternoon. It was buzzin' last week. It was
a Sunday, but it was atwo thirty start and it was buzzin'.

(36:50):
Marni Gelner, Brian O'Neill, BrianO'Neil, Marny Gilner, Brian, what's
up man? How are you?Zach? Will get your mic in a
second Year's Ax, getting all situated? Mark Parrish back there in the dark
form hu all Star in the Dark, Brian O'Neil, Brian, Mark Corey,
that's polic Thanks for thanks for joiningthe power your morning, chow man.
We appreciate it. Yeah, thanksfor having me. I'm excited.
Are you familiar with the initials gameyet? Do you know what you're about

(37:10):
to walk into in thirty minutes?Yes, you got it. I watched
a couple episodes in the last coupleof days, and then our equipment managers
was giving me the rundown. Gotit, How do you think you're gonna
do? I don't know. Ididn't do well playing a long watching the
videos, I'll tell you that. But our equipment manager Adam was like,

(37:30):
dude, good luck tomorrow. I'mso pumped. He was giving me tips.
He says he watches every week andplays along. I like him already.
He seems like a smart guy.Adam. Are you going to the
Wolves game tomorrow? I am?Yeah? Oh really? Yeah? Where
sitting? Uh? Sam Newton fromthe Vikings got me and Josh Mantellus to
sit court side. Sam Newton isthe guy. Yeah. Yeah, have

(37:52):
you been You've been to Wolves?Yeah? Yeah, they're fun. Yeah,
we have a shot right yeah.Oh yeah, it's gonna be sweet.
It's gonna be people are gonna beIt's going to be an awesome atmosphere
tomorrow. Have you befriended any ofthe Wolves players? A lot of times
athletes, when they start going toother people's games, they start meaning afterwards
or exchanging jerseys, doing that kindof stuff. You know, I haven't

(38:12):
still working on that we'll see,but no, not yet. If I
can help you out just the allright, sounds good? Two thirty Star
time again. The Wolves are oneand a half point favorites on on DraftKings
Nightmare matchup Martins. But all theygot to do is just to weather the
storm in that first game. Ithink you nailed it. Got to change
the change the narrative, fight back. It's felt like we keep getting punched

(38:36):
and we have yet to punch back. And there's I feel like there's one
coming and that the games that theWolves won throughout the season that were like
super impressive wins where they were notintimidated at all and they looked like truly
the better team. There were multiplethroughout the seasons. Throughout the season that

(38:57):
was not a fluke. The Sunsjust they just they just gave us something.
I don't know if we've even figuredout what it was that uh that
flustered us, and we will haveit figured out by the time this series
ends. By the way, Iswear to you, I was listening to
what you were saying, but I'mlooking at Brian O'Neil's sweacher right now.
I just realized that's that's Andrew dePaula's like restaurant or whatever. Right,

(39:17):
Yeah, doesn't he have like ais it a bakery or something? Or
what does he have? It's abagel shop, bagel shop, breakfast.
Uh you know bagels breakfast sandwiches inMaryland? Yeah, Ken Island, Maryland.
Okay, have you been there oryou just had the the sweatshirt pasted
on you. We implemented a roleon the team last year that Andrew de
Paula's uh bagel and brunch. That'snow team issued gear. So you're about

(39:40):
to wear it too, ye walkthrough his meetings, lifts. Anything that
says Andrew de paul on it,you're allowed to wear anywhere in the building.
He's such a good dude. Man. I've met him a couple of
times at that the charity softball bit, right, the theland bit, and
then Harrison Smith took it over thisyear. And all that guy does is
launch home runs. It's unbelievable.He's a freak. It's unbelievable. I
think he played adult league softball whenhe was out of the league for a

(40:00):
year or two back in Maryland, and every time he came to bat,
all of us like why are theyeven pitching to it? Right? He's
gonna go over the fence and itdoes. Watched it. Yeah, that's
a cool logo. Even to adultfrom here, it looks like a donut,
but I know I can see thebagel aspect of it as well.
That's a nice little logo by Andrewand his crew. Hey, smart job.
So last segment, we just hadTom Pellisero from the NFL Network on

(40:22):
to talk of the NFL Draft.I I'm sure you don't really care,
right, you have no saying it, you don't have inside information, but
you were drafted. Right, Let'slet's talk about your draft process. What
was that process like for you interms of where did you think you were
going to go? Had you heardfrom the Vikings ahead of time? Just
give me your twenty four hour draftday story. You know. I hadn't
really heard from the team at all. I had like a five minute meeting

(40:45):
with them at the combine and didn'treally think anything of it. It was
one of those where you meet withtwenty teams over the course of three hours
and you kind of just do adrive by with everybody. So I was
like, Okay, they're not reallythat interested. And then I guess our
quarterbacks coach orr assistant offensive line coachat the time, Andrew Guinoco. He
went to University of Pittsburgh where Iwent, so he was still close with

(41:06):
everybody there, so he kind ofgot the inside scoop or the inside dirt
on me, I guess. Butyeah, I didn't think I was going
to go there. And then youknow Draft day year with your family,
and I thought I was going togo to Chicago actually, and in hindsight,
I'm really happy that I didn't.Where were they drafting and you were
saying first rout or second round?Where did you think you were going to
In the second round? I kindof told us they had picked like thirty

(41:29):
nine or something, and we kindof thought that was going to be it.
And what pick were you? Technicallysixty two? Oh wow, you
went way later than that. Sowhen when when the bears in your mind
or the spot and they pass, then when did you think you were going
to go? Was there a teamin between the two that you thought or
you were just like, now Ihave no idea, Now I have no
idea. Oh So it was thatHow was almost stressful? Was that hour

(41:52):
too? It was pretty stressful. You're just kind of like sitting there and
you feel like everybody's eyes in theroom are just looking at you, and
you're kind of just sitting they're quiet. One of my buddies from like middle
school actually like prank called me duringthe time, like everyone's quiet. My
phone's on the table and it startsbringing and everybody is like, oh my
gosh, and I was just like, I hate this kid. How often

(42:14):
is it thoh sorry marts? Howoften is it where somebody is drafted by
a team that they rarely had anycontact with. Is that something that happens
more than people know? I thinkso. Yeah, a lot of times
you kind of know what teams needwhen you're coming out, and you kind
of follow who's on their roster andkind of what they're looking for. And
but you know a lot of timesteams like to keep it pretty close to

(42:36):
the vest in terms of who theylike or what they're looking for. And
yeah, it's not surprising at allwhen people are just you know, you're
literally sitting there in an area codefrom one of you know, I don't
know how many states there are,but one of thirty two cities pops up
and you're like, I don't knowhow many states NFL teams? Right,
is what I was saying. Isaw, I saw the states. But

(43:00):
it's a good catch catch, butI wasn't gonna say anything. Yeah.
Yeah, but you know, anarea code pops up and you move out
there ten days later. Yeah, when when Chicago did not draft you and
the draft goes on, are anduh and time goes on where you're like,
Okay, that's over, I'm bikinghere we go. Are you like
chip on my shoulder forever because Idid not get drafted where I should have

(43:23):
been drafted. It's more life goeson. You know. You you want
to go to a winning place anda place that wants you. So I
just was ready to go to whoeverwanted me. And it's worked out great
here. And you know, everybodyalways gets drafted later than they think they're
going to or later then people tellthem they're going to But a lot of
guys will carry that with them foryears and it'll be a motivator and it'll

(43:45):
be a I was wronged type ofmotivation for them. Yeah. You see
all this not healthy? Yeah, not healthy. I don't think it's healthy.
You see all the guys that canname every single person at their position
drafted in front of them for liketen years, And I don't know,
that's never been a really big motivatorfor me. I kind of want to
prove the people right that believe tome, not the not prove people wrong
that passed on. I guess Ilook at it. One of the hot

(44:08):
runners, of course, is thatthe Vikings. I know they have Sam
Darnold, but they are probably inthe market a week from yesterday for a
quarterback. What do you say toall the people that say this is one
of the best landing spots because ofyou and Christian Darren's derisaw as the bookend
tackles. But I also think there'sa lot of really good skill positions players
that we have that can get open, and our offensive staff is pretty remarkable,

(44:32):
and I think it's a great landingspot for anybody, even for Sam
Yeah, to come in and havesuccess with the offensive line that we have,
and it's no secret who we haveon the outside making place. Yeah,
that helps a lot. That helpsa lot. Good just to find
to me somewhere down there. ButSaus's point is true about you know,
historically almost every draft Vikings fans areprobably begging for a tackle, but this

(44:55):
is one that we for the firsttime and a handful of years, we
don't have to worry about it withthe two you. That's kind of nice
to not have to worry about who'sprotecting our quarterback, right, that's you.
Guys both have a lot of accolades. You both have a lot of
money either in your pocket or comingyour way. It's nice to not have
to worry about tackle for the foreseeablefuture. Thanks. Yeah, that was

(45:16):
really a question. Yeah facts,Yeah, yeah, thanks. I hope
the quarterback feels the same way.So correct me if I'm wrong, because
I just kind of scrolled through yourinsta. Did you not recently get married?
I did? When? Was thatjust a handful of months ago?
Yeah? March sixteenth? Congratulations?Thank you? How did that go well?

(45:36):
It went great? Yeah? Iboth said yes, you both said
that's the big thing. Yeah, any any wedding day regrets? Did something
go wrong? Do you wish youwould have changed something? Because I have
about fifty on my wedding day thatwent a long way. My wife has
a huge mistake, the massive aregret. Anything you would have changed about
your wedding day or was it prettymuch flawless? It was pretty great.
Yeah. No, I wouldn't havechanged anything for the world. It was

(45:59):
awesome. A lot of family andfriends were there. It was, you
know, all the little details.I really had no idea. We kind
of joked that it was like asurprise party for me. I was removed
from it, or she had aplanner or how did that work? She
and the planner handed all of it? Yeah, your wife? Is it
sounds familiar? Thanks? I thinkso too. Yeah? Did you get

(46:21):
married in a botanical garden of somesort, kind of like a garden at
like a hotel in Miami? Yeah? Wow, I thought it was Tomo
Zoo. I did what's happening?Do you do you have a connection of
Miami or does she have a connectionof Miami? You just found that place,
no real connection other than we gothere pretty much every bye week,
and we wanted to do it inMarch because we wanted to go away for

(46:44):
you know, a little under twoweeks right after and that's not really happened
any other time of year other thanMarch with our schedule. So it was
like, all right, we wantit has to be in March, and
we want to do it somewhere warm, and that's not happening in Minnesota or
where we both grew up in Delaware, so uh, let's do it,
and let's do it in South Florida. Awesome? Is that? So you
met her in Delaware? Where didyou meet her? Yeah? We uh

(47:06):
we dated in high school for twoyears. Oh wow, high school sweethearts.
Yeah, and separated for a littlebit and now we're back about five
years. Wrong. Somebody may haveasked you this. I'm sorry. I
was reading something Ben Lieber wrote onTwitter, so I apologized. Somebody.
Was it draft related? There's somethingabout that. Where did you go on
your honeymoon? South Africa? Wassweet? Yeah? It was really cool.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, itwas sweet. It was like we

(47:29):
did one of the safaris for fourdays where you're out in the car and
you know, you know, rightin front of the animals. It was
like it kind of felt like thefive minutes before right before kickoff, where
like adrenalines through the roof and it'slike one sudden movement and something really bad
could happen. So it was reallycool. Did any animal get uncomfortably close?
Yeah? There was an elephant thatwas like probably like twenty five times

(47:52):
the size of me, that likekind of like, I don't want to
say charged the vehicle, but kindof like came after it and I was
on like the side where it wascoming, and the guy just like peeled
off real quick. Wow. Didyou bring up South Africa? Just so
you can transition to Dave Matthews.No, I didn't. I didn't know
that, but I'm glad you did. No I would know. I had
no idea what just happened. Idon't know, but I didn't know that.

(48:14):
I asked because I wanted to know, because honeymoons are sweet. I
thought maybe you were saying, doyou know who else is from Africa?
But I don't think he knows whothat is? You know, Dave Matthews
is. Yeah. See there yougo from there? Do you think guy
drank beer for the first time ina Dave Matthews concert to our high school
and I can out to her Amphitheater. I'm a huge fan. That's all
I have to say. We'll justmove on from there. The end of

(48:36):
Dave Matthews. Yeah, all right, more with Brian O'Neil and the Power
Trip wanting you. After this,we'll do Fan five and then Brian makes
his initials debut in about fifteen minutes. What is what's the jackpot up to
sixty three five and then when thatgoes sixty three last week? So I'm
trying to think it's either sixty threefive or sixty four thousand, one of
the two. We'll look it upduring the break, but the tons of
money on the line in about fifteenminutes as well, Power Trip moaning Joe
