Man, Good morning, lady, gentlemen, and welcome to video message number
twenty nine. Peer pennies. Thejuice is loose, doesn't matter, nothing
matters. No the Beezer. Maybeyou got off on the wrong foot,
because what were you doing in theproduce section. I was trying fruid on.
Listen up. The ratings just camein for last month. We are

(00:21):
number one. We just grabbed everykey Democrat, super duper. That's nice.
Might a gondo gay? Yes,boy, that is good news.
It is the twenty sixth day ofApril twenty twenty four. We got us
a quarterback. Welcome to the PatrickMorning Show. My name is Chris Hockey.
Yeah, quarterback and a big timedefensive player drafted in the first round.

(00:41):
All of that covered today plus theinitials game. Let's get right to
some comedy and get the show started. So much to get to. Here's
Mike Burt Bigley on The Patrick MorningShow. Now you come on it.
It's Friday morning and I'm glad you'rehere. So in that the usop,
we bought a pretzel. H itwas really for five twenty five. They
really mark up the prices at thesporting event. It's like they were selling
peanuts for six dollars a bag, which peanuts is like the universal symbol for

(01:07):
like nothing, you know, payingme peanuts around it. You know,
the price of peanuts went up,I guess, and they're six dollars a
bag. That's like Armageddon prices.Like if the sky was black and there's
like, you know, unicorns likeflying around shooting lasers out of their hooves.

(01:27):
You know, peanuts would be sixdollars a bag, and they'd be
like one guy who was trying tosell them for eight, and everyone'd be
like that guy's crazy, sweet pawho wanted to be a catcher. You

(02:02):
the distance those party, Hi me, Welcome to the Pirates in the morning.
Till Friday, April twenty six totwenty twenty four. I thought yesterday
was gonna be Sauces Christmas. Itturned out to be Zach Alferson's. J.

(02:23):
J. McCarthy is a Minnesota Viking. Merry Christmas, Christmas, Zachary,
congratulations. It is Friday. Sothe gentleman John criesols here. Hi
John, good morning. Lost todiscuss. After months and months and months
and months and months, I'm talkingand talking and talking and talking. We
have two big time players, andit's pretty unlikely scenario. I think a

(02:46):
scenario that nobody saw coming, whichwas getting the guy we wanted, still
having twenty three and then moving upagain. What a bunch of psychos last
night. That was fun. Itwas weird, It was bad ass.
It might go work, but forat least one night, it feels like
on paper, they just crushed it. You have to shoot as you have
to shoot your shot. It feelsa little weird because and I would never

(03:08):
pretend I watch a lot of collegefootball. I don't, so I'm sure
JJ McCarthy's awesome. Excuse me,but it was so abundantly clear they were
trying to get to three. JJMcCarthy could still be awesome and then we'll
forget about all this. But wedid have to settle, and I'm fine
with it. If New England absolutelywas like, we want this guy,

(03:30):
we're taking them, or we'll moveout of the spot, but you have
to give us two more first roundpicks, I'm cool with this. I'm
cool with this because they got aguy that they clearly loved and then Dallas
Turner let's go. Yeah, whata weird way for the board to fall,
right, fourteen straight offensive players. So the Vikings are sitting there at

(03:53):
twenty three, going we just haveto jump up a handful of spots and
we can have almost our pick ofanybody on the defensive side of the ball.
So this defense Dallas Turner at whatseventeen were the seventeenth pick in the
twenty twenty four NFL Draft, theMinnesota Vikings select Dallas Turner. Yeah,

(04:15):
yeah, I mean, nobody sawthat coming because everybody thought I did Dallas
Turner did. Did you see thosesunglasses he was wearing? He could see
him too the future. Yeah.He everybody thought he'd be a top ten
pick. Everybody thought he'd go toAtlanta. That's another story we can talk
about. It's no sense, itmakes no sense. No, I love
it. I love it too well. It was all Maddie is. That's
such a huge boost to us,right, We needed that was to get

(04:39):
McCarthy to ten or eleven? Isit being ten? That was kind of
gigantic for that not to be Whatthe hell are they? I have no
more? The Giants not taking aquarterback. We had to dodge that bowl
and I could pick six. Imean, but they were in kind about
that. They just spend fifty milliondollars on the quarterback. I don't understand
it for because and you say whatyou want, Kirk Cousins. The Vikings

(05:02):
never drafted a first round quarterback. They kept Sean Manion as the backup so
no one would push him for thestarting job. And he doesn't even take
a training camp practice, and they'vethey've not only drafted his replacement, this
is somebody that in a year ortwo might be the starting quarterback. It's

(05:24):
so odd. The only team thatyou maybe have to ask that you would
be more shocked about taking a quarterbackis the Chiefs. This is the most
shocking pick I think in a longtime. What are they doing? But
if they loved the guy that much, go get him. Yeah, But
you also, you're building a superbowl roster. That's what their goal is.

(05:45):
He doesn't help you win a superBowl. That's what Aaron Rodgers always
got pissed about, is Jordan, you gotta get me a weapon. Right
when you're Kirk Cousins and you goto Atlanta because you think they're super Bowl
ready, they're just a quarterback awayfrom a super Bowl. And then they
draft a twenty three year old MichaelPenox is gonna be twenty four. In
about a week and a half,he'll be twenty four. He's had about

(06:05):
nineteen season ending surgeries. That's theother so by the time he even gets
in there. Because Kirk Cousins dealis really a two year deal, right,
not four, it's really two.But so you're talking about twenty six,
right, maybe if Cousins plays thenext two years, you're talking Penis
doesn't take over until twenty six yearsold, right. If I think the

(06:26):
third deal, they'll year three. They have to decide right away. Otherwise
a chunk, a good chunk ofhis year three contract is guaranteed. I
think so it is. It isessentially they could get out after two years,
but they can't have it. HawSo if this, if they love
this guy this much and grabbed him, more teams should do that. And

(06:46):
I know Aaron Rodgers had said hewould be annoyed because he wanted more role
players around him and that he feltthat was a wasted pick. But a
lot of it was too I'm theguy. I don't want another one in
the room staring at me wanting totake my job. That's what it was
about. He would say, theother stuff. He would say all the
right things. But I think moreteams should do this and say, all

(07:10):
right, Kirk, it doesn't work, and it doesn't matter if they go
and win a super Bowl and Kirkis awesome. No one's gonna really look
at this and say, you idiots, why did you do this? Yeah,
but but it might be a goodbackup. Even but if Roma Doonzay,
the guy that was picked later asa monster, a guy they could
have used, then people will saythat it just on a team. Unless

(07:30):
you're picking like in the top threeand you're just a barren team and you
need a quarterback. That makes sense. But at the eighth pick, that's
a luxury pick. You take thebest player available. You take Dallas Turner,
you take Terry and Arnold, youtake Roma Doonzay, you take any
one of the other defensive linemen ordefensive ends, and you take a quarterback.
What is this Falcons family? Ijust don't just going on. I

(07:50):
don't get it. But I lovewith the Vikings did. And maybe the
Achilles isn't healing the way. That'sanother thing that they brought that up a
lot. Even if it's going totake him a month or so to be
ready. You don't draft a quarterbackeighth just to delay Kirk a month,
you take one in. This justmakes no sense. Again, advantage Vikings
because it was a pick that madeno sense ahead of the Minnesota Vikings.

(08:13):
But one of the you know, when we first hit the off season one
of the first things we all talkedabout was I would argue we did need
a two hour podcast about the secondYeah, well, nam about Buttholes.
I'm so tired of talking about Buttholes. Zack, why are you smoking?
Are you that excited about McCarthy? That was speaking of Buttholes? Was a

(08:39):
lot of us, myself included Iwanted, let's re sign Kirk Cousins.
Let's draft the future. Yes,right. If you had said Cousins for
two or three year extension and wecan get our hands on JJ McCarthy or
Drake may or whoever, I'd pickeleven, I'd say, home run,
let's go, let's keep it going. Uh, that's exactly what the Falcons
are doing. And Kirk didn't wantthat, right, which is unbelievable.

(09:01):
What was the reaction at the draftparty when when Pennix was selected. I
mean there there was a shock andyeah, yeah, because that was the
most affected. I mean that iswhen I started watching after the brief run
on quarterbacks every pick, I waslike, who's going to jump up?

(09:22):
And when I would say the pickis in instead of it's been traded,
I'm like, yeah, just waitingand waiting and waiting and waiting, and
then the giant and watching and takea quarterback check this out. Oh so
weird. Listen, this is agreat, This is a great and he
might not even be just covering hisbutt. This is a really good point
on his point a part. RaheemMorris, the Falcons head coach, said

(09:45):
this about why they picked pinnicks. We don't want to be picking on anymore.
And Terry's done a nice job ofgetting some really good players, some
quality players, but we don't beback in that position. So let's move
forward. Think about the future.I addressed that right now. He said,
basically, we're going to be sogood next year. We're not going
to have a low draft pick likethis again. So we got to get
our future quarterback while we still havea number eight draft pick, because we're

(10:07):
gonna have the number thirty two draftpick from here on out and the Vikings
might end up with one of theirpicks or something. Well, that's the
other rummers. Somebody said yesterday thatthey might lose a first round pick next
year, that that might be thepunishment. Yeah, that was why they
did it. Here's a Rushears commentingon whether or not they did it because
of Kirk Cousins' injury. It hasnothing to do with the injury. I

(10:28):
think if we were fortunate enough wetalked about it to have Kirk for his
twelve year career with us, westill be in that position thinking about potentially
going to get our quarterback. We'regoing to get the quarterback for the future.
I have a quick question, andI know you can't see the future,
and I know I can. Iknow it looks like Dallas turner Ken.

(10:50):
It looks like Dallas turner Ken.He didn't if you started the draft
process, probably you started with youknow, in January, with all the
bowl games right December and all that, with all the bowl games, right
they played on two National TV Bowlgames Washington Huskies did. Why did you
sign Kirk? You knew you couldget him at the eighth overall ball for

(11:13):
sure. Why did you even signhim then? That's the other thing.
You could have taken Dallas. Youcould have taken Pennix at eight, and
then you had even more money tobuild a team around him. Why even
sign Kirk Cousins, that's my question. I don't know. But like I
said, the beauty, when Penixgoes off the board at eight and the
Vikings are three picks away, you'relike, well, now, if you

(11:35):
really want McCarthy, you probably gotto get up and get him. You
know, the threat of the Raidersand the Broncos, all those teams that
were right behind the Vikings. Iknow Quazy said that he had a confirmation
that other teams were interested in theJets pick, and that's why he had
to move up one spot and giveit a fourth in a fifth. Who
cares whatever, take more, Idon't care. Correct, Take as many

(11:56):
as you want. Correct. TheBroncos in the race must not have wanted
it too badly, because that's notlike a here's an offer you can't refuse,
right if it's Oh, they hadto move up otherwise Sean Payton was
going to do it. John Paytoncan't offer more than that to get his
guy, which means he was contentwith bon X correct. I don't think

(12:18):
the Vikings were content with bon Xor they were worried that the Vikings had
that additional ammunition if necessary, sosort of just putting the feelers out and
then saying we absolutely if the Vikingsso badly want to move up, they're
going to be able to offer moreno matter what. So maybe that was
enough to kind of keep them atbay. But another reason why I'm excited

(12:41):
they have JJ McCarthy. This isthe first time in a long time because
I didn't feel this way about ChristianPonder hindsight aside. When they drafted him,
I was like, who is this? I didn't even know who it
was. We all know who JJMcCarthy is. We're excited about it,
but it does feel weird because A, it wasn't our first option. It
wasn't the guy we absolutely wanted, and B what are we missing? Why

(13:07):
didn't Atlanta take him? If theywere set on taking another quarterback there?
Why didn't they take him? Whydidn't the other teams want to jump up?
Obviously they could have traded with theGiants or someone else. So do
we know something others don't? Idon't know, but it's gonna be fun
to watch. Here is our newquarterback on how excited he is to be

(13:28):
in the state of hockey. Hockeywas my first love. No. I
started with I was five and thatwas my first four and I just loved
everything about it, the toughness toit, the you know, work ethic
to it. Everything about hockey issomething that helped elevate my game in football
because that's a quarterback. You're welcome. No, there's very little opportunities to

(13:48):
display to toughness and being around guysthat have gotten their face split open with
one hundred and ten stitches coming infollowing like two days after that, and
then screaming at the coach for takingthem out of the game while they're bleeding
uncontrollably out of their face. Likeit's little stuff like that where you get
a sprained ankle in a game andyou're just not gonna sit there and be

(14:11):
like, oh, I can't,I can't do this because I've seen people
overcome and want to overcome way worseobstacles. So being able to you know,
draw back to those experiences have beeninvaluable and you know, it's definitely
gonna pay dividends along the line. Here sounds like he needs to go to
John Creesel dot com. Yeah right, sounds like, uh, I'm gonna

(14:33):
be cutting that audio up. Yeah, yeah, for sure. He loves
you, he loves me, Yeahhe does. Yeah, that's good,
Zach. He likes the sport ofhockey, THC Gummies and the band Shine
Down. Is he really? Man? That's awesome? Yeah, I don't
I don't mean I didn't need anyof that. But you go to the
press conference today? Uh yeah, what time is it at where? I

(14:56):
don't know. I'm gonna guess thenI would guess at noon. Yeah,
and I bet it's a at Vikingsheadquarters? Yeah, Hey, Pa and
Norda are there? Are we onTV in a minute about twenty minutes?
If you want to see us onbecome big television stars, you might want
to tune into watch how Care elevenSunrise, caroleven Sunrise and about a little

(15:16):
after six here? Yeah? Yeah, how do I look? You look?
You look at? Should I puta hat on? Do I have
the Uncle Fester look going here? On? JJ McCarthy just said he would
look amazing. Yeah, he did, credits me and he's right. Hey,
I don't know if this is true? But did you guys hear the
story about JJ McCarthy and the BenMallor show like forty minutes ago. No,

(15:39):
I can't verify this. If they'retrolling us, I'm going to walk
right into the trap. Ben Mallertold the story that JJ McCarthy, when
the Vikings sent him a playbook togo over right, that they put one
hundred dollars bill at the end ofit to test to see if he'd gone
all the way through it, whichagain the cutest little test ever to see
if these college kids are actually likedoing their work right. The JaMarcus russell

(16:00):
One's super famous the Blank Tape orwhatever, he said he'd watch film and
they were like, there's nothing onthat film, dude, God dang it.
Anyway, according to Ben Maller, there was one hundred dollars bill at
the end of JJ McCarthy's Vikings playbook, and he mailed the one hundred dollars
back to Quasy and said, youbasically, you can give me this when
I win you a Super Bowl, which wow, a hundred bucks. Yeah,

(16:23):
I know you wouldn't bend over topick up one hundred dollars. If
that's true, I just I lovethe little rabbit hole tests. Let's see,
let's put one hundred dollars Bill,Yeah, let's see if he notices
Zach does he passed the rabbit holetest? Yeah? He yeah. I
don't know. I'm want to findout today. I'm want to ask.
Wasn't there something I think? Wasit when Seattle signed t J. Hutchman

(16:45):
Zada the poison bad? But therewas something where with his watch where I
think Seattle they took his watch andthey're like you're gonna come back and get
this or something stupid like that, where you're like, come on, these
are professional athletes, like some ofthese dumb things they do. But yeah,

(17:06):
first day of a new era onthat day, man, that's the
day was perfect. Due Ben Webtweeted that that mock draft that had JJ
McCarthy going eleven and then whoever thehell else it was some defensive player going
twenty three, and he was like, this is a dream scenario, and
we're like, yeah, but that'sa man happening. It's like a zero
point one percent chance. It basicallyhappened, right, McCarthy at ten,

(17:27):
Dallas Turner at seventeen. According tomel Kiper, who's been doing this for
a while. Dallas Turner is thebest defensive player in the draft, right
They got him with the seventeenth overallpick. Did they give up a lot?
Sure? But if he's a stud, who cares? And they still
have next year's first round pick andthey still found their way to their quarterback
LG. Last night was a homerun? Really really yeah, I'll lof

(17:51):
g. We got a break.Yah. The Vikings don't have another draft
pick though until twenty thirty two now, but that's okay. More than the
Power to Morning Jail after this onthe Vane two three. The Power Hour
is live at eight am. Atweekdays at eight am, thanks to Quantum

(18:15):
Fiber, you can watch a KFEdot com slash watch Quantum Fiber your World
Unleash. Thanks Zacho. What aday, What a world? What a
world, Ladies and Gentlemen Hour generalmanager crazy about moo Menza talking about trading.
Did you get up to the tenthpick and get our quarterback? You
know, I always talk about minimizingregret, and you know, if you're

(18:37):
sitting on your couch one day andyou're like that extra fifth or whatever it
was, then it could have hada chance that a guy that you think
has trades and could be special, you're never going to care about that fifth
round pick. And there's ways ofgetting it back. Yeah, correct,
Correct, quality over quantity. Iknow they don't have a lot of picks
as of right now. The restof it, of this draft and maybe

(18:57):
even next year, is with thetrades they've made. But except for the
Falcons, who cares. Yeah, they have three picks next year one yeah,
and then they have let's see,I have it written down here.
They have one fourth, two sixth, and two seventh round picks the rest
of the way, so they won'tpick again though tomorrow. It felt weird

(19:19):
though, because I had zero faithin this. Yes, the Crabs two
in this front office, they haveswung and missed on all but one player.
In that player, it sounds likeHois he did not want he wanted
to trade back, and Koc said, let's take Addison. So I'm all
for getting as close to the can'tmiss people as possible because we cannot afford

(19:44):
the swing and miss anymore. Youswing and miss two full seasons, basically
you're already behind the eight ball alittle bit. Well. The other big
story from yesterday is the Justin Herbertstory, which the Vikings are adamantly denying.
Kraazy is denying it. But Ithink everybody realized the Vikings were trying
to get up to three, probablyto take Drake May looks like whatever they

(20:07):
were asked to give up was toomuch, so they said, let's gamble
and see if we get McCarthy ateleven or ten. But then the story
came out that the Patriots and inthe Vikings had both reached out to the
Chargers about the availability of Justin Herbert, and according to the sources, were
quickly dismissed that the Chargers weren't interested, And then the Vikings were asked about

(20:30):
it, and Quaysy said, quote, I don't know where this stuff comes
from. I wish I could tellyou how much joy we get from seeing
this stuff that gets written. Idon't know what to tell you. I
don't know where this stuff comes from. Sometimes it works out in our favor.
I can't even respond. So hebasically is saying I is made up.
But there's other sources saying the Patriotsand the Vikings asked about Herbert.

(20:52):
Now I wouldn't you though? Yeah, Now, to be fair, the
one of the main reasons you dothat is you just have to do your
due diligence. That maybe the Chargersare going to take McCarthy right because of
Harbaught that that's probably just a youguys taking McCarthy. But you know,
you'd be silly to not attempt forit because we'd heard rumors for a while
that maybe they're interested in moving awayfrom them, which is insane because if

(21:15):
you have your your franchise quarterback, why would you get rid of him.
It's a known commodity. Even thesegreat prospects, they don't always work out
most of the time. In fact, they don't work out. So what's
the longest river in Cambodia? Denial? Yeah, I like it, I
get it. Like it, that'sright, that's right. This is a

(21:38):
this is a great day to bea Vikings fan. It's a great day.
Yeah, it's a great day becausewe have hope and we never have
hope, and for at least oneday, it looks like Quasi absolutely just
crushed it right, not out ofthe park, but like like Crisoa said,
he has not had a good startwhen it comes to the drafts.
He's basically over too. He's donegreat. However, this on paper looks

(22:00):
fantastic. Now, if six monthsfrom now, JJ McCarthy can't crack the
lineup, or he gets in becauseDarnold can't play and he looks terrible,
I still think Koycy is going tobe make or break with this draft.
Yeah, his drafting of JJ McCarthymight be his fate either way towards greatness
or to be to be done. But that's why you pay the guy.

(22:21):
That's if you're sitting at home going, man, I don't like JJ McCarthy,
I don't trust him, I lovewell. Then if Coayzy's wrong,
then he's out the door. That'sthat's the job of a general manager.
So they scouted him, they likehim. If he's wrong, he's gone.
And as you said yesterday, Cor, there was a situation where we
thought they would Their a topic wasto get all the way up to three
to take Drake May and then thebackup B plan was to get JJ McCarthy.

(22:47):
If we're sitting here right now andthey take Michael Pennix or bon Nicks,
it's settling. Yeah, this isn'tsettling. This was their second plan.
Settling would have been bon Nicks orMichael Pennix. They didn't do that.
They get the Falcons pick. Ifif we had gone defense at eleven
and Penis at twenty three, I'dhave been like a right right. They
took him at eight, They tookhim before McCary. Yeah, how about

(23:11):
how about the guy? How aboutthe guy yesterday that hit He bet two
hundred dollars at plus two thousand thatthe that a quarterback would go with the
tenth pick because he thought the Jetswould take Rogers backup and it's still hit
because the Vikings moved up to pickten. Well, gambling is the best,
right Corey, very much. Here'sDallas did it? The best defensive

(23:33):
stud on being a Viking was myfirst love. That's brilliant. Everybody likes
cool. Yeah. Cool. Itwas definitely a surreal moment of seeing the
area code and then you know, seeing where the phone call was coming from.
But you know, I was arguehaving having a visit over there with
coach O'Connell, you know, questionCoach Floyes as well. Well, you

(23:56):
know, I just want to geta thanks to those dudes, and thanks
for the wilfinger, you know, just for taking a chance on me.
You know, just picking me upand it's seventeen and actually training up all
right? Defense? Yeah what exactlywhat they needed probably their two biggest needs,
and they got both of them withouthaving to move that twenty twenty five

(24:18):
or twenty twenty five first round pick. Did you guys see what I just
did? No, I'm changing hatsevery time they come to us to a
different sponsor. That's funny. Wethrow me the seventh Avenue pizza hat or
do you have it on? Whatdo you say? Can you throw me
the seventh Avenue pizza hat? Ordo you have it on? Zach?
I can throw through a window.Yeah good, I'm a theater of the

(24:41):
mind metal. And that's the otherthing he does is he wears our sponsors.
He doesn't acknowledge his own. Youown my Zeros hat? Yeah?
Yeah, sure you want to.Zach's wearing an Isis hat? Oh,
Zach, Zach? Come on allright? I think we're supposed to be
on that show at like six,Now break Sports and the power returns.

(25:02):
That's right, Welcome back to thePatrick Morning Show. We are live post
Minnesota Vikings Draft. Big things area foot for your squad, not one,
but two great players. Have joinedour squad and we're about to be
on careleven to show everybody our facesfor radio. Oh yeah, it's happening.
Hawk. I love your visor,man, I'm advisor. I'm glad

(25:25):
you're wearing a visor. It's notjust advisor, it's a bell Bak advisor.
You know you gotta. I'm gladyou're rocking advisors now. I rid
it's a good look. I liketo I like to rod, you know,
That's what I do. So whenwe do this cross talk here with
Carolevin to talk about the NFL draftSauce, this is going to be your
time to shine. That was yourChristmas. Yeah, they're going to rely

(25:47):
on you. That's okay for information. Yeah, I have plenty of morning
show on Cavan are excited they arejoining us. Now. Good morning,
everybody's so happy morning. Hi,Hi, Hi, Good morning, Paul
Corey, everyone the gags all hearHawk? Hey, first round? Over,
what draft grade are you giving theVikings still far we look into a

(26:07):
B D plus. I would goin a I think it's one of the
best drafts the Vikings have ever had. You got your quarterback, you got
a defensive player, and you didn'thave to give up your first round pick
next year. They gave up somepicks all around the fourth, third,
and fifth round this year and nextyear. That doesn't really matter. They
got two very, very good players. I think it's one of the best

(26:27):
drafts they've had in a long time, and nationally a lot of people are
saying it was the best draft lastnight. You know, you could give
an a plus ball's you're not usedto I'll go a plus hawksday love the
visor Hawk. Thank you very muchee. It beautiful, thank you very much.
Yeah, now we're very excited.I think the fans are even more
excited. If we come out oflast night and not had a quarterback,

(26:48):
I think it would have been amajor disappointment for the fans. So we
got both the best of both worlds. We get a quarterback in the future
and a great defensive player. Twogreat players in one night. What more
do you want? Man? Itall worked out so perfectly. So they
made a big splash here in thefirst round. Obviously, what's the game
plan for the rest of the drafthere? Well, today, there's nothing
unless Quasy moves again, right saucethey have no picks today in rounds two

(27:11):
or three, so they could moveback up, but they don't have a
lot of draft capital to do that, so likely they're just out until tomorrow.
Sauce. Yeah, they have wellwell sorry, they have a fourth
round pick two sixth and two seven, So as Corey said, they aren't
going to pick until tomorrow, ifthey even pick at all. Maybe they
move around the board tomorrow and tryand get some of those guys, but

(27:33):
yeah, they'll it'll be a easynight tonight for the Vikings because they all
knew we had to get ready forthe Wolves game. Yeah that's true too,
man. I'll tell you what we'vegot to do today then, is
what don't have any picks, isget to get to know our new quarterback.
We have a franchise quarterback. Wehave a kid we're going to be
watching play for the longest time andfor at least the next eight months.
We got something very very exciting todream about. We might have our quarterback

(27:53):
for the next eight years on theroster right now, who knows. So
that's what we do today. Welook forward to the possible future and it
will make the will It will makesome of the preseason games exciting as well
too. They're always exciting. They'realways exciting. Don't make me argue with
you preseason football. You listen tothe We love you guys, Hi John,

(28:18):
Sorry Marty, there is no longerwith us. She was drinking all
night. Sorry, she's downstairs drinking. All right, love you, Alicia,
love you, Love you guys. All right, thank you. We

a question. What you just satthere? No, I didn't know.

(28:41):
I don't know how to do TV. I thought they would go back and
then counterpoint, you know how todo the English? OKAYH mean to me
when Corey said, sauce, they'renot picking today because of this right,
nobody knows and then you're just likeand then I kind of explained it,
but I was I was throwing itto you. I was lobbing it up
to you, like clarify for theor Caro eleven listeners, and you just

(29:04):
go yeah, yeah when somebody says, sauce, question, didn't you answer?
Okay? I'm sorry? It waslike we wacked it, hey,
but I love the visor. Itwas like the nine NFC title game when
Farv held the ball out to handit to Adrian and he just dropped it.

(29:25):
Yeah, you didn't even take thehand off. Potato, hot potato.
Yeah, that was not good.I'm sorry. I rd Yeah,
what were you thinking? You what? We looked good? You were looking
nice. Well I said we wouldn'tyou weren't one of us? And you
look great? Baby, I lookfat? No, you didn't look fat,
silly. She's so nice too.She was like, I'm sorry I

(29:45):
didn't say hi to you. Yeah, it's okay. Yeah, I know.
She wasn't wear her glasses. Yousee. You know last year when
Jordan Addison was in Pick Your LovelyWife, kel videotaped you or recorded you
on her phone and you just gowow wow. Right to sum up to
twenty twenty three draft, Sauce wouldjust say oh wow wow. Based on

(30:07):
the videos she tweeted last night, the only phrase you used all night was
let's go yeah, Yeah, let'sgo. Yeah. I'm sorry it can't
be excited, Let's go yeah, let's go. Yeah. You guys aren't
fun today. We didn't blow ourappearance on Caro level lor JJ McCarthy.

(30:30):
Let's go call it down, ZachWell, speak for yourself, call him
down. Well, let's not scarehim away. Yeah, I was exciting.
I'm sorry, we're so many Whyyou're so upset? I thought you
did great. No, Captain Grinchover here is being a How do you
know. I'm just congratulations recapping yournight. I'm not even I'm not judging

(30:52):
it. I'm just saying I loveyour cereal. Let's go. Thank you,
brilliant, brilliant. He was excited. I'm sorry. I won't be
excited. I'll just sit there insilence like you do, hey, down
in my basement, all alone wherenobody wants to be with me, and
I'll just vikings make a good pick. I'll just go call back CAROLEVI and
tell him give us one more chance. Yeah, I don't think up.

(31:15):
I don't want to be on TV. Thanks, spice girl. I just
scap. No, you said Idon't want to be. Oh, I
just clicked on any links. Sorry, Yeah, sorry I sent you that.
No, thank you for that link. Yeah, well another Now they're
talking about the Wolves, Sun comeback to us. We have hot takes,

(31:36):
saus They played a night at ninethirty right. That was when I
looked over though he was looking tothe hills, so it clearly was like
he wasn't listening to anything you hadsaid, even though most of the time,
and my wife will do it ifI'm zoned out, she'll be like
John Honey in the middle of it, and it will get my attention.

(31:59):
You said Paul or Sauce at leasttwo times. May I don't know.
It was like, hey, Ididn't hear that. I nearly I'm not
I heard. That's why I waskind of like, hey, sometimes I
hope, I hope I die nexttime. On the way here when you
four here, you guys are mean. I'm not having fun today, specifically

(32:20):
four of us are here. Yeah, I'm not showing up anymore. Well,
listen, unless we want him dead, one of us has got to
stay at home up. But Saucy, I'm sorry. I thought this was
a comedy show. I didn't know. I didn't know it was my ur
gumb was loaded. I didn't know. I thought they were going to be
like cool counterpoints, Sauce your thoughts. I didn't know that's my ideas,

(32:45):
have Caro Lebanon right now, No, Skinny Jay Cutler does weather for them,
right Yeah. I like that guy. He's good looking dude right there,
right there, especially it looks likeskinny J. Cutler. What's about
the rain. There's a lot ofmoisture Minnesota right now. We we're just
on TV. Yeah, I knowyou Redwood Falls, Marshall, you're getting

(33:07):
some Rainsbornda. What about New armMankato. It's about to hit your brother.
It's fixing to get me. Ilike the name Slayton, I should
name you should name your kids.At that low pressure system right there,
just in that point, what anl right over Abaska and Nebraska taking We're
gonna be some big storms in Nebraska. Thank you. Sue Falls get severe

(33:28):
stuff tomorrow in Milwaukee, in Rochestertomorrow as well. By the way,
look at all that stuff going thatway. We're gonna get some rain two
about an hour and a half.Oh yeah, it's gonna be a rainy
all day today. I'm sorry.Spin funny how you fixed could have got
with Barlow or Belinda? Who Garloe? He's your cousin, that's your miss

(33:53):
time Now for front it looks likewe're stuck in the stage. That's my
fault. That right. You gavehim an A. They deserve an A
plus. Yeah, okay, theydeserve an A plus. I'm not hard
today. No, you're not notfine. I'm not fine to them.
Being advisor hockey sucks. It's don'tlike miser hockey. I was hoping they'd

(34:19):
ask us about the twins. WhatI was ready for the twins talk?
No, you got those fired friendby sports. You guys are fans on
holiday station stories, right? Ye? Yah? I love it? Do
you want to go to holiday?Yeah? I can't. What's good?
Cool? You can get the redball off? Why? Yeah? Why

(34:43):
would that in any ways speedy youradvantage? I'm not talking to anyone specifically.
That would suck. Are you justsaying that random by to get one
free your red bulls that holiday?Go check that out? All of those
those seventy nine cents what are thosecalled? Like, uh, the XL
cups or whatever you can get likea soda versus. And then the Fosters.

(35:05):
Yeah, the Frosters are seventy ninecents. Pretty sweet man. Thank
your holiday, and thank you buildingfor Marlerslers dot Com. Yeah, I'm
sorry, I'm so watching care loveit? Are you on TV? You're
on there more than j Cutler is. I know last night I went to
anw Core. Oh yes, wewere on. I played in Fergus Falls

(35:27):
last night, so I think Istopped and you Fergus. Jesus, you
Fergus, You Fergus. That's afar away the Fergus. I go to
the University of Fergus fallsise Fergus.Anybody. I had an ANW root beer
freeze? Man? Oh, what'sthat? It's a frozen root beer.
Oh it's like ice cream and rootbeer mixed together. And it ain't nothing

(35:50):
better than an W rutber Anyway,it's so good. Correct? How far
is it ANW from here? Aboutan hour and a half. I'm gonna
guess. Let's who would you gradeit? I would have given it an
A plus that's available, but youwere on TV, so gave it a
name. That's exactly right. Thefirst pick in the draft last night was
the Chicago Bears. They took quarterbackCaleb Williams out of Chicago. Jade and

(36:14):
Daniels goes second to Washington. DrakeMay. A lot of people think was
the target of the Vikings, thatthey wanted to get all the way up
to number three to get him.But whatever they were offering, New England
would have rather stayed put. That'sexactly what they did. Remember We heard
that twenty four hours before the draftthat the heavy favorite was that New England
was comfortable staying there and taking thequarterback in the future. We thought maybe

(36:37):
it was a last second smoke screen, but it wasn't. They stayed put
a pick three. They take quarterbackDrake May out in North Carolina. Chris
your hand. I wish I hadthought of this when we were on television,
because this is a real sports radiokind of thing. Sauce right here,
right now as we sit here.Yeah, what was that last quarterback?
Okay, Drake May? Thank you? Would you rather have Drake May
or JJ McCarthy and Dallas Turner. That's a very good question. I know.

(37:01):
I wish i'd thought about it.It's a very my ugly ass face
was on television. We're my advisor. I don't like advisor hockey. Yeah,
why did you just get mad atme? I was after you?
A great question. I think thisis an easy one, by the way.
You take McCarthy and and I've seenDrake May play one game. It
was the one against the Gophers, and I looked fine. I mean,

(37:21):
he looked like a little bit manamongst boys. He didn't look like,
oh, my god, we gotto give up the you know, the
entire world to get I thought helooked like a good quarterback. Good,
not great, but right. Iget it. Obviously with the title game
and the Semis and stuff. I'veseen J McCarthy maybe play parts of five
games right, four or five times, and he's always looked solid. But

(37:43):
as a lot of his detractors havepointed out, not asked to do a
lot because that team was a machineand Blake Korum was running up and down
the field. But on just onpaper. To Chris's question, if you
say the unknown of Drake May versusthe unknown of JJ McCarthy and we get
Dallas Turner, I like this planbetter. Yeah, and your question too,

(38:05):
Hawk, you probably don't have nextyear's first round pick that I wasn't
I didn't even have to do thatin Yeah, yeah, isn't he a
closer prototype to Kirk Cousins, whowe know worked in this system. Well,
it was built around him more thanDrake May. Now I was.
I was disappointed when they didn't getDrake May. Obviously they wanted to move

(38:30):
up, so clearly they thought hewas worth it to an extent. But
I feel like this, he seemsto be a better fit for what we
currently have right now. Dan Orlovskyon ESPN thinks he'll win the Rookie of
the Year, that this is thebest system for any quarterback drafted last night.
So but that is saying I mean, ideally Donald will play the majority

(38:53):
of the season, and it justsaddle. I agree with what if Donald
Jason tickets and they're not cheap? What is better that they get to training
camp in JJ's That's that would beawesome. But what I don't want now
this team. This isn't like throwinghim to the Wolves on one of these
really bad teams like New England orsomething like that. I just hope that

(39:15):
there isn't they don't listen to outsidepressure and put them in a situation that
they don't need to because in mymind, this team this year, I'm
not optimistic that they're going to doanything. There's if they somehow made the
playoffs, it's going to be aone and done situation. I'm I'm set
up more for all right, We'lljust get through this year and set ourselves

(39:38):
up for the future, right,That's my hope. I mean, Chris,
I guess the easiest way to answeryour question is if we knew the
gap between Drake May and JJ McCarthywas just epic, right, like the
difference between Kerrie Russell and baseball prospectMarla Hoo. Yeah, I like then
I would then I would say whatare we doing now? Ultimately, here

(40:00):
comes the stating of the obvious. Two three years from now, we might
look back and go, God,we should have given up nine first rounders
for Drake Make because he's unbelievable andJJ McCarthy was an absolute bust. All
we can do is live in themoment right now. I like this deal
better than gambling for Drake May,because we're still gambling on JJ McCarthy.
But this is gambling with very littlerisk tons of reward. Getting all the

(40:22):
way up to May and missing isa giant risk, giant reward. I
like this plan better, and itseems like it is a pretty safe you
can recover quickly or in this situationbecause you have next years first and going
on exactly lower risk, lower risk, maybe maybe just as high of a
rewards. A comment on something, but you're already mad at me. I'm

(40:44):
not mad at you. Go ahead, I love you with all. I'm
not mad at anybody what you saidquickly or I did, I don't.
I'm gonna let you do this likeit's time to go to break. What
should we do? Let's skull. We've got a JJ to JJ connection Minnesota.

(41:13):
Your Viking star J J. McCarthyin the NFL dropped and you can
up the same. Up the newJJ to Justin Jefferson connection with our new
shirt. Head over to KFE dotcom slash store to nag yours today.
That's KFE dot com slash store.Good morning everybody. Doug did for local

(41:37):
artist. I just said his namewrong. But apologic man? What Nelly's
here? And he brought wings?Oh did he bring some wings? Boy?
Yeah? Wings? Yeah? Becausehe is a patriotic sent he is.
He actually hates America. He's abeautiful butter. He only eats wings.

(42:02):
What happened to glennon Fry? Whothe eagle? It's not a good
show. It's okay you got thrownoff since you only gave us an a
on care eleven. Yeah, shouldwe do what early matters? Because there's
stuff to talk about, like therest of the first round. Should that's
it really matters, right, scoresand stats around the world of sports.
In between Chris changes your life.So we went through the top three picks
obviously, then Marvin Harrison Junior wentfourth to the Arizona Cardinals. I would

(42:27):
argue the first surprise, even thoughit still makes sense. Joe alt,
Minnesota's very owned Joe Halt ot aNotre Dame goes fifth to the Los Angeles
Chargers. I think everybody assumed withhow they have this exodus at wide receiver
with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, that was the no brainer to take my
league neighbors. But they go offensiveline with picked five Sauce. Were you
surprised, Yes, because now he'sgoing to have to play right tackle because

(42:50):
they the kid that they got outof Northwestern a couple of years ago.
I forgot his name, That istheir left tackle. He will play right
tackle for the Chargers. But Ithought they'd maybe take ja See Latham,
the actual right tackle who played atAlabama. Because they love running the ball.
They want to establish the line ofscrimmage. I thought it would be
an offensive linement. I did notthink it would be Joe Old and that

(43:12):
it looked like his party was atDellwood Country Club. Yeah. Oh really,
yeah, that place is great.Bangs nice. Pick six Molik Neighbors
wide receiver Lsu goes to the NewYork Giants. Now we saw in a
couple of picks here the Atlanta Falconstake the quarterback in the future with Michael
Pennix, even though they just signedKirk Cousins. Everybody talks about, Oh,

(43:34):
the Giants have Daniel Jones on thebooks and he's expensive. But he's
only on the books I think forlike another year. So picking Pennix or
McCarthy or Knicks or whoever for theGiants would have made sense because then it's
just one year to wait. They'renot interested the Neighbors with pick six,
I thought they were either going totrade or take him. And again that's

(43:55):
why, initially, before I hadtime to really think about it, when
the when the Vikings got JJ McCarthyan, what are we missing here?
Because there were so many opportunities forother teams to jump ahead, it's weird.
Well, I think two things.A. I think the Giants were
always going to take a wide receiveron whatever draft website, on DraftKings,
they were minus like two hundred minusto two seventy five. It fluctuated between

(44:20):
that all week. I thought theywere going to take a wide receiver the
whole time, except if they couldget up for Drake May And I just
think that the Broncos really had theirsite set on bow Nicks, and it
just kind of fell perfectly for theMinnesota Vikings. I just think that's the
way it works. As she goes. Pick seven was the Tennessee Titans and
JC Latham h Pick eight was theone that shocked everybody. Michael Pennix Junior

(44:45):
of Washington goes to the Atlanta Falcons. It makes absolutely no sense, but
best of luck to him. Iread an article on the Four Letter Network
saying that Cousin's agent told ESPN thatthe Falcons only notified the quarterback that they
would pick Penis while the team wason the clock. McCartney said that there
is frustration and confusion coming from Cousinscamp because Atlanta did not use its first

(45:06):
round pick to make the team betterthis season. Yeah, I can try
to win a Super Bowl. It'sa horrible pick. It makes no sense.
No, you take Rama Dune's ahell. You take Dallas Turner,
You take one of the cornerbacks.Taking a backup quarterback with the eighth overall
pick is a horrible, horrible wasteof a draft. How about the concept
of just well, we told himwhen we were on the clock. It's

(45:29):
that's the same as not telling himat all. Correct, Right, if
you tell him when you when theday you sign him and he's in the
building for the first time, you'relike, look, obviously, we're thrilled
you're here. That's why we justgave you a buttload of money. Just
so you know we have PICKA.One of our theories is is we're not
going to be in the top tenas often as we want. You know,
this is pretty rare. We mighttake a quarterback if the right guy

(45:51):
falls. Just want to give youa heads up the whole all right,
the falcons around the clock. HeyKirk, by the way, in about
thirteen seconds, we're going to MichaelPennix. But we're going to do the
right thing and let you know, right, it's not like they did.
If you asked any of us ifPennix would be available at eight, everyone
would say, yes, right, you will be. So this isn't a

(46:14):
situation where like Drake May was slidingand they're like, hey, Kirk,
sorry, man, we have tomake right now. We have to do
it. So it's weird. Now, the other thing that needs to be
considered there is a lot of medicalresearch that has said if you tear one
achilles, there is an increased chancethat you can tear your other one or

(46:35):
have other injuries that you're compensating. So this is also an insurance policy.
But why Pix Penix is a medicaldisaster. Well, he's like the dude
from operation, he's had what twoborn as. You're going to make one
great quarterback. Combine the Frankenstein. You know that that might be the best

(46:55):
thing you've said all day? Thanksare you talking about? Oh you have
Kirk Cousins. You have Kirk Cousinsunder center like that show that he had
with Rosen. But then you havePennix on the field somewhere and then maybe
like Kirk immediately throws the ball toMichael once in a while and then he
throws it again. Yeah, it'sjust two quarterbacks. A you must right,

(47:16):
it's a really really, really badpick and they can spin it any
way they want. As I saidearlier, just take him at eight.
Don't even sign Kirk Cousins, that'swhat you should have done. Roman Djay,
the wide receiver out of Washington wentninth to the Chicago Bears. So
they get a wide receiver and aquarterback in the top nine. And then,
of course, the Vikings traded upfrom eleven to ten just in case

(47:38):
the broncoser Raiders got dicey. Theyswat picks with the Jets from ten to
eleven. They give up a fourthand a fifth. Who cares again take
forty picks, doesn't matter, Andthe Vikings drafted quarterback JJ McCarthy out of
Michigan. But what really matters isthis. In nineteen seventy six, grounds
keeper Richard Aren't caught Hank Aarons sevenfifty fifth home run ball home run ball.

(48:01):
He tried to return it to Aaron, it was told that he was
not available. The next day,the Brewers fired him for stealing team property
the ball, and then deducted fivedollars from his final paycheck. In nineteen
ninety ninety sold that ball at auctionfor six hundred and twenty five thousand dollars.
Some more than five dollars. Yeah, both inflation and inflation, it's

(48:22):
probably close. Wow. Well,I don't think he regrets it. No,
no, no good retirement plan. With pick seventeen, the Minnesota Vikings
took Dallas Turner, edge rusher outof Alabama. They trade up from twenty
three to seventeen. Yeah, he'sa SEC defensive player of the year.

(48:45):
He had ten sacks, ten anda half. I think it was last
year without Will Anderson, who wentin front of who was the third overall
pick in the twenty twenty three draft. A lot of people thought he'd be
a top ten pick. A lotof people have missed the best defensive player
in the draft. They gave upa lot, but they kept that first
round pick from next year, anotheron paper home run pick. Alec Lewis,

(49:07):
who joins the Paul Allen Project fromtime to time Nine to Noon,
made this point last night on Twitter, and I kind of like this when
you're talking about Dallas Turner. Now, the Vikings got the phone call from
the Houston Texans a couple of monthsago. Right, everybody says the Texans
are the one who initiated the callabout pick twenty three, and the Vikings
said, sure, we'll take it. Right. That gives us more high
powered ammunition. If we want totry to truly move up, and looks

(49:30):
like they tried to. But AlecLewis says, if you're super pumped about
Dallas Turner, just for perspective,if you factor in the Vikings trade to
acquire number twenty three from the Texans, Minnesota essentially gave up a twenty twenty
four second rounder and sixth rounder andfifth rounder. I don't know why has
it in that order. That's fine. Then a second rounder in twenty five

(49:51):
and a fourth rounder in twenty five. So two seconds, a fifth,
a sixth, and a fourth.It's a lot. Yeah, that's a
lot. But late round picks,Yeah, the fourth, fifth, and
six whatever, basically two seconds toget to get up and get him.
I have a zero problem with that. The old man you would have hated
that, right, as you alwayssay, Corey, give me three picks

(50:13):
in the top fifty other than tenin the top two seventy five. You
gotta be right, you gotta beyou got to be right more often,
right, your your win percentage hasto increase. But quality over quantity,
right, all right? More ofthe power, Tie want to show more
of what really matters after it ison the fan. The fan, this
is tight Whips. No, no, I'm sorry. This is the band

(50:34):
Nuclei and they're playing a song. No, I'd say everyone else for it.
This is tight Whips and a songcalled Nucleari. Sorry, some of
them are loaded differently by our lovelyunpaid interns, but thank you. If
you have a local song, alocal band you'd like to have us play
hockey cape dot com, send itto us right now. Ladies and gentlemen,
we continue to celebrate the missile ofVikings have a new quarterback of the

(50:54):
future. Is this year the future? We don't know. Yeah, we'll
find that out, but Koc isreal excited. JJ was a guy,
you know, very very early inthe process, obviously coming off of a
national championship, guys won at everylevel he's been at. And then when
you really dive into the tape andsome of the things that I really look
for and really emphasizing my evaluation process, there was a lot to really like

(51:15):
about JJ's tape, and that wasbefore you know, he absolutely crushed the
process postseason, which is which ishard to do when you've won a national
championship and done some of the thingsthat he did as a college quarterback coy
Before we dive back into what reallymatters, Can I ask Meat Sauce,
our resident NFL draft expert, aquestion, Sauce, Yes, saus We've

(51:39):
been talking for months about JJ McCarthyon and off. Yeah, and sometimes
I feel like you love him.Sometimes I think you're luke warm on him.
I know you're happy we picked himwhere we did and we didn't give
up the entire future of the franchiseto do it. That's a great thing.
Is JJ McCarthy good enough in youropinion that even if he's an average

(52:00):
to good quarterback, he could begreat in this offense? Your your thoughts?
Uh, Yes, one thousand percent. He can be very good in
this offense. Is a very similaroffense to what they ran in Michigan.
They ran a lot of play action. They ran a lot of stuff with
you know, putting wide receivers pushingthem down the field. But they also
ran a lot which the Vikings shouldprobably try and do. He's a very,

(52:22):
very, very good quarterback for thissystem. And I think if you
could have hand picked the quarterback thatwould fit best in this system, it's
JJ McCarthy. I love it.See do you see what he did there,
Corey, he was succinct, hehad a point, he made it,
he got out and he was listening. If only he'd done that when
we were on Caro Levin, Oh, put your advisor back. Now.

(52:45):
I just love it because they wentto us and said, you know,
they're talking Vikings down there. Iwas doing a Winsl's Farms flat when they
came to be. Now this thisyear is gonna be funny because, uh,
every year, always and for longtime, anytime the starting quarterback would
have a bad game except when itwas Kirk, everyone's calling for the backup.

(53:06):
It's one of the greatest Minnesota traditions. And now we're back to that.
The minute Sam Donald throws an interception, it's gonna be ja ja.
Yeah. I would argue about whattwelve hours ago that officially started, because
look, when Sam Donald signs aone year deal, he knows his time
is already. The clock's ticking, right. I would argue, best case

(53:29):
scenario, he plays most of theyear, plays well enough where somebody else
gives him a deal. Worst casescenario is JJ just beats him out in
camp and he starts Game one,and I don't think that's impossible. I
know they probably want Sam Donald tostart. I don't know if wants even
the right word. They just maybethey expect, Hey, let's give the
kid as much time as he needs. But when the panel asked Koc that

(53:51):
question last night on the draft partyhere on KFAM, he didn't He wasn't
super you know, he wasn't committedsaying Sam Donald's definitely going to start Game
one. It was just let's getdepth, let's do this, let's do
that. Maybe you have the exactquote, Chris, but yeah, he
seemed to be open to anything.I'm not sure if this's the one you're
talking about. This is KOC andSam Darnold. Sam knows exactly, you
know, how I feel about himand the excitement I have for him being

(54:15):
in Minnesota Viking, and he alsounderstood that with the conversations that I had
with him, that more than likelywe were going to try and to be
trying to add another quarterback to thatroom and a guy that we hope to
build around for the future. Butas far as I'm concerned, those guys
challenges just to work every single dayto be the best version of themselves because

(54:36):
our football team will benefit from that, and the same goes for Nick Mullins
and Jaron Hall. So sauce. You know, for the last couple of
weeks when we've been talking about thePatriots, there's no right answer, but
you've been basically saying, if you'rethe Patriots, you don't take Drake May
because the supporting cast is so badhe's going to get killed. Right,
you would trade back with the Vikings, get a whole bunch more other people
like me and whoever Lieber and stufffor saying, yeah, but this is

(54:58):
your chance to get your franch quarterbackright and then build around him. That's
why, because the Vikings have everythingin place for a quarterback to succeed.
Even if conceptually the Vikings are like, Man, I really like JJ to
just to learn for as long aspossible so we don't have to throw him
right into the fire. If anylike setup is ready for a kid like

(55:19):
him to just get in there andlearn, it's this one, you are
correct. I just hope that theand I think they will be. I
hope Koc is just open to theidea that if JJ wins the camp battle,
he starts week one, not likeDonald starts with a short leash.
If he's the best quarterback. Youdidn't give Sam Donald ninety million dollars,
you gave him ten. Who cares? Put JJ in week one if he's

(55:42):
ready. Yeah, like you said, even if they're even, even if
you look at both, to giveit to the kid, you give it
to the kid. Here's another thing. Joe Reedy, who writes for the
AP and rights about the Chargers, and as a writer, d y,
Yeah, Reedy, right, Redy. It'd be awesome if Joe Ryder was
a proof for Yeah, right,is it Reedy? No, I'm sure
you're right. Okay, go ahead, Paul speaking brilliant, he said last

(56:07):
night, Harmas said he stayed inthe Chargers draft room and saw JJ McCarthy
get picked by the Vikings, andhe said the following that's where he wanted
to go. I was praying andpulling for it to work out the way
he wanted it to work out,and the stars aligned. That's awesome.
So you take that for what youwant. But if anybody knows where he
wants to go, it's his headcoach at Michigan, who he absolutely loved
and called the best quarterback in thedraft. So take that. Drake away.

(56:30):
And look at last year out whenwhen Kirk snapped his achilles, it
was all right, season's over,we're done, and they cobbled together.
They cobbled together. If the ballbounces a couple different ways, that ends
up being a playoff team, whichis so to your point, this team

(56:51):
is very set up for it.But specifically koc is more equipped than I
think any head coach to really putthis guy in a spot to succeed.
He won a game where he wastelling Josh Dobbs who the player he was
going to throw too is and whatthe name was. Right, he had
to basically be like, Hey,when so and so breaks, throw it

(57:12):
on the fly, this is gonnabe This should be great. It's not
guaranteed, but this should be great, right, Corey. I'm gonna play
one more bit of sound because Iwas on stage at the University of Fergus
Falls last name, so I didn'tget to hear the draft party. All.
Here is when the trade happened aswe were broadcasting live. Oh,
we have a trade. Have tradedin comes the Vikings have traded into ten

(57:43):
with the Chicago Bears. That waswhat the Jets. Yeah, thank you,
thank you, so the Vikings goup to ten, the Jets go
back to eleven. We see avery joyous Chicago Bears draft room because their
pick at nine was Rome Adonsday. And now you go to ten US Bank
Stadium. The Minnesota Vikings are onthe clock. They had picked eleven and

(58:09):
twenty three. They now don't haveeleven and twenty three. We don't know
what the compensation is. Man,that's cool, that's ok. To your
guys' point, all week though, that the fans wanted to cock. No,
no, they wanted McCarthy. Canyou imagine if one name would have
been bone Nicks. Yeah, no, it would not have been thunder a.

(58:29):
Suppose that have been like what whatbone Nicks? And it would have
been shocked and confusion. Correct.Yeah, so said everybody had their fingers
crossed. This is ninety nine percentJ. J mccar JJ McCarthy. Don't
do something stupid, don't do somethingcrazy, and they didn't. Basically,
my wife had fallen asleep on thecouch at that point, she would have
woken up to the house on fire. I would have set that bitch on

(58:50):
yez. If they take Bonicks,I'm putting the household for sure. Yeah,
I wouldn't have even worn the familyhappier that your guy, butthole ees,
Bonick, I love it because abotle eyes sucks. The Saints are
terrible, and we still hate bottleeyes, right, Johneah, he's try.
Yeah, I'm glad. I hopeBonicks has a decent career, but
not with the Saints. I hopeour hurricane now. Jesus. Wow,

(59:17):
I know it's unlikely, but sureit's possible. But what really matters is
this, You are correct? Hey. In April twenty eighteen, Robert Pope
completed the Forest Gump Run, inwhich he ran across America five times in
four hundred and twenty two days. It's estimated that he ran fifteen six hundred

(59:40):
and seven miles. How about that, Jesus? How did we not know
that it just happened in twenty eighteen? Did that get news coverage? Did
we talk about it? I'm sure, I'm sure we talked about the three
segments about it. Ye. That'sprobably why Hawk did the walk, as
we were inspired by that bit.Bob Pope. Yeah, Bob Pope,

(01:00:04):
congrats and Bob Pope. That soundsexhausting. Not only does it sound exhausting
if it doesn't get news coverage.I wonder if the second or third time
across the country going no one's evennoticed I'm doing this for no one.
You start calling people, right?I bet he thought people were going to
follow him, like and he neverdid. Yeah, or for like five
seconds, Hey, guess what RobPope's doing. Yeah, we'll catch him

(01:00:30):
up. Oh No, if you'vegone across the country a time or two
and nobody's following you, don't youjust hop in a car and at least
skip a couple of states? Yeah? Right, and say, no one's
gonna notice if I skipped Missouri.I'm tired. I kept I kept driving
by him going, I'm going totell you what happens to Jenny in the
end. Oh my yea, shewas kind of terrible to You don't know

(01:00:52):
why her so much. She's thebad guy in this film, right,
Yeah, Shelly came back when youwas broke and aids, oh she did
no, I mean that's true.Sounded like a harsh joke, but that
was I know. You know what, John, I'm glad you finally told
Forrest Forest. How did that happen? Jenny? How did you that's not

(01:01:15):
how she died, though true shehad Uh, I don't know. You
know, I'm gonna change the subject, Dallas Turner, your thoughts. That's
what she died of. That's exactlywhat she died. Yeah, there was
a sequel to the book, andand the sequel Forrest Junior has aids,
Oh really, what it's dark man? What are we doing? I've read

(01:01:38):
that book and I don't remember that. Yeah, that's the second one.
Yeah, I've read it. I'mnot kidding. The thing I only the
only thing here's my brain, ZachoHalverson. Sure. The only thing I
remember about Forrest Gump two is thathe invented New Coke. I don't remember
the last part. It was abig story because they were gonna they were
gonna do the movie, the sequel, and that was one of the things.

(01:02:02):
New Coke was. The other onewas another one of the things.
And then nine to eleven happened, and then they're like, we're not going
to do this anymore because New Cokeaids and then nine to eleven all those
things. I just they said thatthat changed the country, and they didn't
feel like it was I don't know, it was weird, But this whole
segments off are weird. Yeah, this is weird. The way Dallas Turner

(01:02:28):
he was picked seventeen, was norelation to Ted. Can we be sure
you don't know that run super fast? I guess very explosive. I've seen
him play exactly zero times. I'veseen Alabama play, but I wasn't watching
Dallas Turner. Never heard the nameuntil about two months ago. But everybody
loves him. He's very good.It Will thought he'd be a top ten
pick. They got him at seventeen. That's a win. That's a win.
There were a lot of people thatthought he was going to be the

(01:02:50):
first defensive player off the board, right anywhere between eight and twelve or something,
but fourteen straight offensive players. Everybodythought he'd go eight. What did
we give up to get him?I never did read that. I've got
to right, I think a fourthand a fifth, right they gave up?
I thought that was the other one. Jackson Bill got picked twenty three,
a twenty twenty four fifth round pick, a twenty twenty five third round
pick, and a twenty twenty fivefourth round pick. So a fifth,

(01:03:14):
third, and a fourth, Yeahfine, yeah, no, I mean,
if you learn that much, ifhe's that much better than everybody else.
I thought they were made me movingup because at that point no corner
had been taken. I thought theywere going to move up for a corner.
Yeah, it was sad to seethat that corner everybody loves went to
Detroit Terry. Yeah, it's toobad. Yeah, should have made that
illegal. But even if all thisdoesn't like work out, it was all

(01:03:37):
worth it for last night. Thatwas fun. It was pretty f after
decades of trading back and just disappointingdraft nights. No, we've stopped talking
about Forrest Gum. I thought,I'm sorry. Yeah, he just a
they're back, would you very hairy? She did a lot of drugs allergic

(01:03:57):
condom. Yeah, we all are. I don't know. We should have
this should have been on Carol Leven. Yeah, that'd be great. Game
three between the Wolves and the Sunsis tonight. It all comes down to
this kind of to zip the MinnesotaTimberwolves lead for just the second time in
their franchise history. They have atwo nothing series lead. Phoenix slightly favored

(01:04:21):
though, but who cares, notfor the series anymore like they were before
the series started, but slight favoritesin game three, what nine thirty ish
or so, right, so probablya tip at nine forty something. Jesus
is midnight. That's hopeful. That'slate, fine with me, though.
There is a Friday, Friday night. Well, that's the thing. It's
Friday. It's Friday night. Youlove the team staff and watch it or

(01:04:43):
listen to it right here in thefan. What really matters, though,
is this exactly right, Corey,You're exactly right. Thanks. Plans receive
more energy on a cloudy day inthe summer than on a sunny day in
the winter. I did not knowthat, you would think, because more
sun equals more good. But apparentlythey need the warm to or maybe the
sun's brighter. Hell, I don'tknow. I don't get it, Okay,

(01:05:05):
I mean I believe you, Ijust don't understand. Yeah, I'm
with you. The Minnesota Twins yetagain beat the White Sox six to three.
They get the four game sweep againstthe worst team in baseball, maybe
the worst team ever. They're onpace to be the worst team ever.
They're three and twenty two and theyneeded to walk off the other day to

(01:05:25):
beat this awful, awful team thatshould be relegated. Yeah, they're not
even trying. It's a good point. They're really bad. You imagine if
they brought that like the Saints, like finish of the top three. Now
they're in the major leagues, that'dbe funny. Bring it here. Hell
yeah, yep. I love theSaints. They could probably beat the White
Sox, probably beat the Twins. But what really matters is this, You

(01:05:50):
guys, you've done nothing compared togood old William Mitchell. Correct, he's
one of us. He was bornin Raymond, Minnesota. When he was
a teenager, he ran the sugarcrystallization tanks at the American Sugar Beat Company,
slept two hours a night, andthen got up and went to school.

(01:06:12):
Earned himself an undergraduate degree at CottnerCollege in Lincoln, Nebraska, graduated
with a master's degree from the Universityof Nebraska, got himself a job at
General Foods Corporation. Between the yearsof nineteen forty one and nineteen seventy six,
he did the following. He inventedpop rocks, tang cool whip,
and powdered egg whites. What haveyou done today? Not a damn thing,

(01:06:36):
right, Oh, I've done nothing. We just defended half the population,
that's all. Yeah, it doesn'tmatter. Pop rocks your thoughts A
plus tang. Yeah, Tommy hatesit. Oh, I don't get it.
He tried it. He's more ofa Johnsonville guy. Yeah, cool

(01:07:01):
whip your thoughts? Love it?Love it, man, Straight out of
the tub, and I mean thebathtub. I never had sous I get
out of the bathtub. Go forthe fridge, baby, cool whip like
I've had it out of a can. I've never had it out of it.
That's not cool you're talking about. And ready whip also, well,
yeah, but is it better underthe can or in the bowl the tub,

(01:07:25):
out of the It's better out ofthe can. Let me tell you
right now. When you shoot itin your mouth, it's so good,
man. But it's so good. What is ready whip? Is so good?
When's it best? When you shootit into your mouth? I'm telling
you, you know what. Iwould walk and just one more time?

(01:07:45):
Yeah, one more time. I'mnot saying, tell me, buddy,
one more time, right, youshoot it into your mouth. Oh,
I'd have some right now. Ilove ready I tell you guys another one.
Please do baby face Nelson, youremember from from uh uh where far
out there? Yeah? He wasn'tname of that movie. Oh Brother,

(01:08:09):
We're Out though, fantastic, sogood. Baby Face Nelson killed more FBI
agents than any other criminal in thehistory of criminals. Get out of here,
right, so he would just takeout the old Tommy gun and just
let everybody have it. Yeah.Interesting, What an interesting character he was
in that film. Yeah right,he was super happy when they were taking

(01:08:29):
him to do him in. Andremember the money flying out of the back
of the car and he just hadthe sad look on his face. That
may have been one of the greatestacting scenes in history. I gotta know
more about Babyface. Remember he justin the movie at least he just he
just wanted people to know his name. He didn't want to be known as
baby wasn't even about the money though, It was just just make sure you
tell him it was me. He'slike excited because he was getting paraded around

(01:08:50):
in handcuffs. Remember the guy whosaid I thought you wasn't Toad called him
George and that made him happy.Yep. Yeah, that's a good movie.
A plus. Great movie. CoenBrothers. Oh wait, well,
Brother We're Out THO was an aplus. But the Vikings draft was just
an a interesting. I mean,I don't disagree because Old Brother is an

(01:09:11):
A plus film. We all agreea plus, but we think the Vikings
Draft was an A plus as well. A plus. Look at this guy
behind me, Look at you?Look at Mark Parish. How the hell
are you much better that I seehim? My brother? The Denver Nuggets
won one twelve one oh five ofthe the Los Angeles Lakers. That is
a three nothing series lead. Andin the history of the NBA, I

(01:09:32):
think it's one fifty one and ohno team has ever blown a three nothing
series lead in the NBA, somethinglike one hundred and fifty one and nothing.
What was the Warriors? What wasthat a three to one that they
blew it against against the or somethinglike that? And then was it last
year? The year before that,I think it was Boston was in a

(01:09:55):
series where it was three rip andthen it went to a game seven,
but and they won and didn't blowit. I think it was Bob.
Why do I think it was Boston? I think you might be right.
The uh the time the Warriors lostto the Caves. Isn't that where Rosie
paid you? After Game three?Yep? Paid me, said the bets
off and then when they came backand won, he was like, well,
but you and I get the money. It's like that you tapped out,

(01:10:16):
dude, Speaking of that, that'swhat happened last night at like pick
twenty one. I get a venmofrom Tommy paying me for the Tyler Nuban
bit he was. The bet wasone hundred bucks if he was going to
be a first round pick, whywould you just wait? Why are you
waiting? And if he is,I'm not paying you back, I'll I'm
not paying you back. You lost. I don't noticetand tapping out eleven picks
to go like I get it withmaybe one, but like I would argue,

(01:10:41):
that's dumb. How much is waittill the end of the round he
paid me at doesn't matter, butyeah, he paid me yesterday at like
the twenty first pick. His namewasn't going to be called before picked twenty
one. Oh Tommy trying whipped cream? Right, try cool with try pop
rocks, Try pop rocks and readywhip. Hey, they're playing the film

(01:11:09):
More on Sunday. You shoot itin your mouth? Can calm down now?
This is his next Mark Parrish ishere. Hey, we're playing initials
at eight fifteen, and yes,we're gonna be draft heavy the rest of
the way because everybody wants to reactto JJ McCarthy and Dallas Turner by Minnesota
Vikings sixty four thousand dollars on theline at eight fifteen. That is the

(01:11:30):
sixty four thousand dollars question is whatare the initials today? This is the
power triple to show on the fanpleas
