we'll get to that in a few minutes. We're gonna
talk about mid level restaurants. It's the mid Level Restaurant
Wars of twenty twenty four and will Applebee's you remember
in the future. According to demolition Man, Taco Bell won
the fast Food Wars right with new canteena menu. I

(01:33):
don't I don't see how that could go wrong. Riches
on the front line. Yeah, now there's a mid level
restaurant Wars, meaning Apple Bee's, Chili's Fridays to come back
of Bennigan's, maybe wool Hands. Yeah, there's a mid level
restaurant war. We're gonna get to the bottom of it.
Let's just see. The NFL is involved too, That's why
we're bringing it up. I was Sam running things today.

(01:54):
Iowa Sam. It's not official our friendship until you and
I do late Night Taco Bell together. What do you think? Oh?
I love it sharing some Gordida crunches. Yes, yeah, I'm
big on that hop on a late West Coast game,
Chris Spanadas. We got to take Dan Bayer to get
Hibachi before we do that. That is true. You're welcome
to come, Iowa Sam. All right, all right, I'll tag along. Okay,

(02:16):
So Dan Byer's got your updates. Iowa Sam on the
Ones and twos, Danny g super producing, feeling good about
his Lakers, Go Lakers, Go Lakers, and of course some
big games tonight Heat seventy six Ers, Hawks, Bulls. We
got lots to get to on the Cavino and Rich
Professional Graham of Ours, Hawks, Boss two teams under five hundred,

(02:38):
No thanks, It's like which team is gonna have a
really quick elimination come Saturday? Game one Saturday, and a
lot of the playoff series. So we're gonna get to
Ryan Garcia, We're gonna get to the NBA restaurant wars.
But before we get to some NBA news, I know

(03:00):
the Joker and Jamal Murray story about them. You want
to get to you stop over promising. If you keep
me happing, We're not going to get to anything. We
might not have time for all that. We only have
two hours of awesome. I'm yapping. Yes, I wanted to ask,
are there places you go where you overlook something sucking?

(03:24):
Because the rest of it's so good. My daughter today,
she's on her way back now. But my wife went
as one of the chaperones. She had a field trip
to medieval times. Oh it's the best and it's so fun.
But you know, I went for the first time within
the past six months. That's why I had never gone
my entire life. I think I only went like once
as a kid and haven't gotten twenty five years. I'd
never gone ever, and I finally went recently with my daughter,

(03:47):
my niece and nephew, and I had a blast. Dude,
it's a lot of fun. The food stinks, but the
experience is great. Ye you know, me and Danny Gee
said the same thing. It's like, it's it's a really
fun time. But I mean, in the corner of the
cob is soggy. You gotta like a chicken leg in
front of you, like I don't know what you're eating
with your hands, which I do anyway. But still it's
pretty great, you know what it is though, it's it's

(04:09):
for the family and for the kids. What little kid
wants to eat slobby, sloppy, soggy chicken off the bone?
None of them. No little kids want to eat you.
I know they didn't have Dino nuggets in the medieval times,
but they gotta make exceptions for these little nose bring

(04:32):
out the Dino nuggets. I reluctantly ate it, but I'm like, well,
if I'm paying for it, I'm eating it. But I
knew that my daughter wasn't gonna eat it. I knew
my little nose picking nephew wasn't gonna eat it. No
little kid wants to eat soggy chicken off the bone. None.
That's where they miss you. It's down the block from
another place. My wife said, she passed, maybe we need
to go here. There's a pirate theme version of this. Yeah, yeah,

(04:53):
they gotta update. They gotta do a Star Wars version,
right like, they gotta update these a little bit because
I think kids are more likely be excited about like
a Star Wars or some sort of I don't know
a modern day version day. I'm not into the whole
Ladies and Lords. But they do a lot of pop
up shops with shows, and you know how, we we
went to the same by the Bell pop up shop.

(05:14):
I took my kids to like Bluie's house. They always
have those type of things. But yeah, medieval times. Just
ask yourself, when was the last time you went? And
have you ever? Because I know they're all over the country.
Have you ever had a sloppy ass chicken leg and
mushy corn on the cob but had a fun time

(05:34):
watching I think it's called the other one you mentioned
that's out here in Anaheim, just the Pirate's Dinner Adventure
renamed the Pirates. I've seen it though. It looks cool.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
It feels like a junior Renaissance fare, but without all
the drugs.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Yeah. By the way, are they are like hot fair
maidens at this thing? Or no at the medieval times?

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (05:57):
Food and it's fun. Benches. You guys to go. I mean,
your kids are a little once, so you gotta go
go back. I'm glad she had a great time and
even check out that Pirate one. But your question based
on this is something that kind of sucks but it's fun,
so you overlook the sucky part. Yeah. I mean I
didn't mentally prepare for this because my wife just hit

(06:18):
me up with pictures and I'm thinking that's definitely one
of those places to be like, Eh, I'd imagine like
like that minor league baseball experience, simply because I mean,
I'm not trying to tie it to sports, but you
know how many people just go there for the atmosphere,
like not necessarily the game or the team or who's winning.

(06:38):
It's like for the atmosphere. You had a ball game,
the tickets are cheap, you're bringing the kids. They're excited,
but you're going there to have a few beers and
you know, high five your buddies. You don't know most
of the players, you don't know, you're not invested in them,
so you're just going strictly for the fun. And at
that point, the game's to backdrop. You know in medieval times,
you're you're there for the entertainment, but the food stinks

(06:58):
for our whole life. Talk about our whole life until
maybe the last decade that was ball games, and then
stadiums decided, you know, we're gonna do We're gonna up
our food and beverage options. Because when you were a kid,
that was a great example of like, no they got
a gross like cheeseburger that's been sitting on the grill

(07:19):
for five hours, or a hot dog or cracker jacks.
They stepped up. They got real creative. You go to
any stadium, they have sushi, they have fresh pizza, they
got they got some grilling, enough steaks and all types
of stuff. So hey, enjoy your stadium food, enjoy all
that stuff. But if you haven't been to Medieval Times,
didn't you go with the cable guy years ago? Cable guy?
Didn't you go with your random cable guy who wanted

(07:40):
to be your best friend? I remember that story. No,
I think it's underrated. I had never gone until recently.
I had a good time, so I could see why
your daughter liked it. Yeah, now let's get into this.
NBA last night, what was the big takeaway? Lakers won
a close one. Zion the bummer is that he is
what Big ruled out for Friday. That the Lakers are

(08:03):
three and zero play ins right, Golden State Warriors are
zero to three. Draymond Green is sort of torn on
how to feel about the whole thing. I saw on
his podcast. He's like, he hates the play ins, but
at the same time he thinks it's great for basketball.
I love it, but I hate it. Yeah, but I
hate kind of like Medieval Times. I love it, but

(08:23):
I hate it because the food sucks. I love it,
but I hate it, is what he said, And I
think the takeaway is, yeah, the Lakers move on, but
we might have seen might have seen the end of
a dynasty, end of an era, the end of the
core group of the Olden State Warriors. But if you
listen to what Steph said at the press conference, it

(08:43):
didn't necessarily seem like he thought it was over or
that he wanted it to be over. It seemed like
he wanted to, you know, run it back with the
same guys. He didn't make it clear and concise that
that's what he wanted, but that's what I got from it.
That was my takeaway. The takeaway according to social media is, hey,
Klay Thompson should get ready to play in China. He's done.

(09:04):
He was oh for ten, oh for six when it
came to three point shots, and he's not the same
clay that we knew, So he's done. That was the
sentiment on social media. But again according to Curry and
the press conference and everything else, it seems like he
wants to go back with his guys, but they appear

(09:26):
to be sort of done unless they rebuild around them,
like we discussed yesterday.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Yeah, he was over ten overall, zero points, and Charles
Barkley said sports is not for old people, as he
was grilling them.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
It's it's a young guys game. Much like the rap game.
We always say, you know, you sort of play yourself out.
Everybody has an expiration date in sports, it's a little
sooner than everywhere else. Now, the crazy part is Zion.
They're saying hamstring, Yeah, he's out on Friday. Not only
out on Friday, they're saying around two weeks. But because

(09:59):
they stend and really stretch the hell out of these playoffs,
could be back for a game five. I'm looking May
second is a Thursday, May first, the first of the
month is two weeks from today, and it looks like
whoever gets that final seed would be playing the Thunder
in a possible game five. Danny G, How pump were

(10:22):
you last night watching that game?

Speaker 2 (10:25):
No, it was a very interesting game because it almost
looked like the Lakers started to get bored towards the
end of the third quarter. They had an eighteen point lead.
It's like they were playing with their food a little bit.
Then Zion got super hot and obviously dropped the forty
before he got hurt, and so then the Lakers had
to scramble there at the end, and that big three
pointer from d lo uh that was beautiful to watch,

(10:46):
but yeah, the Lakers have had the Pelicans number, and
there there was some questionable coaching on the Pelican side
that I've seen some people shouting about on social media.
But now your reward is, hey, you get to fly
to Denver.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
And by the way, you should have saw it earlier today.
You know, Rich and I do a Patreon Before we
come here. On Fox Sports Radio, Rich was wearing a
Lakers T shirt like a front.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Runner Today's defense. I've never never heard him chair on
New York Knicks before.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
We were just messing with him though. Yeah, no, listen,
I'm not claiming to be a Lakers fan, but I
don't really. It's odd. I make fun of Cavino for
not having an NFL team, because I think that's more peculiar.
But I never liked the Knicks. When my friends were
all like, yeah, you Ing and Starks and Anthony Mason,
I just didn't love that team. I was I was

(11:39):
watching Barkley or you know, you were in a big
latrell spree. Well, guy, there were guys I liked.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
Know.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Those nineties Knicks teams were so fun to watch too
that that's surprising.

Speaker 1 (11:50):
Some badass teams.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
Yeah, over here on the west Side. We were admiring
the Knicks back then. They were cool for sure, tough,
tough team.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
Yeah, not just that. I never gravitated towards the Knicks.
Anthony Mason and Grandmama. Oh yeah, Anthony Mason. I was
rocking a Laker shirt earlier. And yeah, they were busting
by chops a little bit. I think you could say
you're pulling for someone and be like, well, I'm not
a fan fan. I mean, I think that's fair.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Yeah, it was nice that the Pelicans turned it into
an exciting game there at the end. And then of
course the Sacramento Kings did the same thing in their
game as the Lakers did in the first half. They
pulled away and the Warriors could never quite get back in,
and they went away from a couple of their shooters,
which I thought was interesting. And they did a great

(12:36):
job defending well, Clay couldn't hit anything, but they did
a great job defending Curry.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Yeah, and I think that's the takeaway. Richie asked, what
was the takeaway Lakers move on? Pelicans made it closer
than it should have been at the end, and the
Warriors are done and there's a lot of question marks
there Are they really done or are they just done
right now? And it's wild to see how players could
so quickly fall off if they're not healthy. You know. Yeah,
that's also the takeaway k Thompson walk off like that.

(13:06):
It's just it's sort of sad. But there's a party
that wonders. I wondered listening to stuff talk. Does he
is he saying all the right things right now? Or
does he really believe that if they're all healthy they
could run it back? And how cool would it be
if you have no team in the race. How would
it be to see a team come back like that
healthy and win again? You know, are they done? Are

(13:27):
they really done? I don't know.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
It was fun watching Kaminga and it was Jackson Davis.
I was thinking about him, like the Warriors need to
go back to him.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
Man. You know what it's like if the Pelicans win
the playing game on Friday, Like the Pelicans without Zion,
I mean, yeah, Ingram and McCollum. They got other you know,
they have other, a couple other fun guys to watch,
but them winning would be like you know, when your
team is in the postseason but then they lose their
star and it's like well, it'sn't even worth it anymore. Yeah, no,

(14:00):
the worst. But if he comes back, like you said,
in a few weeks, I thought they were going to
revaluate him. That's what I thought that in two weeks
a little real. But you know what, do you think
he's trying to get back acef. I mean, that's why
I wouldn't count him out. Yeah, they might even make
it a game five. But two weeks from today, just
for the record, would be whoever wins the playing game
on Friday, the eight seed would be playing the Thunder. Yeah,

(14:23):
two weeks from today Wednesday, May first. So if you're
saying two weeks he's being reevaluated, then that's just in
time for a game five. Maybe they're hanging in there
and the excitement continues tonight, or you may say the
lack of excitement based on the teams that are that
are competing. He's a good game with the other one, Sixers, Hawks, Bulls,
some good stuff to look forward to, and of course

(14:47):
there's some baseball that excites me as well. The Yankees.
If they lose today four in a row, which is
leame is Anabolis and your Mets have completely turned it around.
They're flipping the script. Yeah, playing really well. So you
got some great basketball, you got baseball. You were the one.
You got a great fight this weekend. It's a good
time for sports. You were the one that told me,
don't panic, it's still early. And since you said that,

(15:09):
your team started stinking of mine started winning. Now, I
do want to tell you I have a baseball thought
for you a little bit. But you want to talk
about this duo thing that you and Danny g sent me, Well,
I like the confidence. It's not confidence, there's some truth
to it. I mean, we're talking about ultimate competitors. Jamal

(15:32):
Murray believes that when it comes to duos, that he
and the Joker are the best pair in the league,
better than Damian Lillard and Giannis, better than Lebron and
Anthony Davis, better than Luca and Kyrie. I think we're
the best duo, is what he says. I think they're

(15:55):
in a bigger market and people have more interest in
Lebron and aDNA La or what Dame and Giannis could be,
or what Luca and Kyrie could do. If we're talking
about the best duos getting the job done and how
they play for each other and with each other. I
think me and Jokich are undoubtedly number one. And you

(16:15):
say confidence, I say the proof is in the pudding,
proof is in the playoffs, proof is in the championships.
Proof is in the results, special teams, special play, special players. Yes, brother,
So I think the proof is there. I don't think
he's talking just out of confidence. I think he's talking

(16:36):
out of facts. But there's something really or less exciting
about them. And like Danny g pointed out, it's like
we talked about last year. I was like, what the
jokers boring? And you know what a real comes down.
You know, a real NBA fan would be like, you're
just stupid, and uh, you know you don't appreciate good basketball.

(16:58):
I'm just saying, like, does okay flash flash Boring is
the wrong word. It's it's they don't really play. I'll
take fundamentals over flash any day if the results mean,
you know, a championship, of course. But I think that's why,
if you're going to try to figure out why, it's
everything he said, he reminds me of Tim Duncan. I

(17:18):
thought Duncan was a boring player. What do they call it? Fundamental?
There's no fun in funda.

Speaker 2 (17:25):
But it's like I wasn't excited to go turn the
game on when he was playing, right.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
The contrary to what you might think, you're right, there
is no fun in fundamentals unless it's your team and
they're winning. Exactly, But there's again truth to be told.
He makes a point when he's saying, hey, they're big
market teams, but the one part he left out is
and we're not as exciting to watch for whatever reason. Right,
So based on that, and you could debate that in itself,

(17:53):
you have any thoughts on that, because they are really
underrated when you think about it, when you think of duo's,
you'll name like four or five other duos before you
name the actual ones that win, and Jamal Murray and
the Joker are probably the number one duo that there's
some truth to.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
That, but I mean in basketball circles, they've been getting
their praise and even of course even last night at
the podium, Lebron was just glowing about them. He said
that they're the defending champions. They know how to win. Yeah,
he said, they've been extremely dominant on their home floor.
They've got an MVP on their team, they've got a
closer on their team. They got high level players, high

(18:33):
IQ players, and they've got a hell of a coach.

Speaker 1 (18:35):
But even though rated Danny G still underrated, well, I mean,
jokers about to win another MVP. They did a little little, quick,
little quick poll from some of the voters and they're like,
I'm like, very likely, more than likely that Jokic wins
the MVP again, which would make him a three time winner,

(18:55):
which is putting him again in more and more rare
gap company, elite company. So just remember he should have
won that. You're embiid one god boring. Boring is the
wrong word because I don't want to be the I
don't want to be the bird brain. It's not boring
to dominate. It just not as flashy flash, not as
prime time, not as big time. I don't know that.

(19:17):
It's it's definable, but not because I don't want to
be that dope. That's just not as flashy. They're boring.
That's a that's a lame that's a lame answer. I
think it has to do with the flash, I really do.
I think, like, uh, stick with that. They're just not
as flashy, that's all. And I know, flesh, it's just

(19:37):
an observation, because we could say, hey, flash doesn't matter
as long as they're winning. We get all that. But
based on what Jamal Murray's saying, you got all these
big names, big markets, big duos, and they may be
overlooked and they're the best. Based on that, are there
other underrated duos that come to mind? And by the way,
think of the flash sometimes flesh. We always say about

(20:00):
faheta is you go to a Mexican restaurant. You look up,
someone's some waiters carrying a sizzling plate. That sizzle, that
flash gets all the attention. Everybody's like, I'll be honest,
anytime I've ever ordered fahetas, I'm like, that was all right,
that was mediocre. I'm telling you. Sometimes sometimes it's all flash,
no substance. And you're right. You rather the quote no

(20:24):
flash boring nuggets rather the substance. Right, So we'll get that.
There's no question, especially you know, when we're talking about
winning and competing in sports. But based on that, who
comes to mind as far as underrated duos? A It
could be I don't know, particular radio duo. Oh no,
I have a you're thinking of you? I haven't it
could be anybody. It could be Mongrel and Bart in

(20:46):
the mornings. It could be on TV, it could be
in sports, it could be anywhere. It could be in cartoons.
I don't care. It could be anything. Maybe like I'll
give you one. Like people love to talk about The
Simpsons run people love to talk about Man. South Park
really pushed the envelope. They're the best. I always thought
Beaves and Buttead were funnier than all of them, and
I think we see some of that on Cent. You're

(21:08):
gonna put Beaves in Buttead I always thought as an
underrated due I think they were properly read epitome of
pushing the envelope at that time. I think when you
said south Park, I thought you were gonna say Trey
Parker and Matt Stone underrated. I think everything they do
is gold. Why do you think SNL went so viral
this past weekend Because there's a specific generation that appreciated

(21:29):
Beaves and butt Head and what they did and what
they brought and how edgy they were at the time.
I'm a big If you ask me who I like
the most, it's my guy Beavis and Butthead. You know,
so anyway, I'm just trying to open it up and
not take anyone else's answer. I'll agree with me, fine,
but you're your most underrated. Again, it's underrated because I
think when it comes to those cartoons, everybody wants to
say South Park. Everybody wants to say the Simpsons. You know,

(21:53):
the Simpsons, no offense haven't been good? Like who are
the duos? We're talking duos. I'm saying the duos Beeves
and butt heead you bozo. Yeah, but there's no duo
on the Simpsons. I'm saying that they get the credit,
you dunce. And my favorite is the duo known as
Beavis and Buthead. So I'm giving them props duos. I'm

(22:16):
not comparing them to duo's. I'm comparing to them to
their contemporaries. If you say big duo, it was like, yeah,
we don't want to hear the Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippin
like that. That's not the obvious ones, right, the underrated ones.
I mean, what comes to mind as far as underrated duos,
I would have to say Jack Tripper and Larry Dallas.
They that's a you know, because who brings that up?

(22:38):
No one brings it up and that is fantastic When
we were kids. I'm like, man, Larry's a hell of
a friend. What knocks on the door, knocks on the door, Jack,
I got some girls down at the Regal Beagle. That's
a friend. What a squad right there? Yeah, what a wingman.
They were always down for each other. They're always down
to go out. Regal Beagle. Let's go. You know what,
that's a great one. Rich, So your thoughts under rated duos,

(23:01):
TV music, sports entertainment? Based on The Joker and Jamal
Murray being the number one duo in the NBA and R,
some would argue underrated Your thoughts next Cavino on Rat
Shredd here on Fox Sports Radio. Now. Whether you're headed

see their goofy kids are doing something together? Yeah, Sean
Lennon and Paul's goofy son. Yeah, I did see that.
They're saying Beatles two point zero. By the way, who
is this Iowa Sam Gary Clark Junior with the cover?

(25:31):
I like it nice. I mean it's already a cool song.
So they just made a cool song, kind of contemporary.
Covino and Rich coming together, wanted to thank you, by
the way, me Yeah for Harrison, for Harrison Bader. Ah, Yeah,
he's good. He's a fun player. He's a fun player
to watch. Yeah, he's definitely fine. By the way, he
had a bomb today that you know those you know

(25:51):
those home runs that like off the bat You're like, oh,
he is the bomb, dude. Oh yeah, I gotta love that.
Mets are playing well. Yankee stinking like Abe Lincoln. They're
going to lose four in a row. This is pathetic
to the Blue Jays. It's good beat baseball. Beat it
for baseball, good baseball, good basketball. We're excited about the
fight this weekend. We're gonna update you on that. It's

(26:12):
a baseball related boxing story with Ryan Garcia. But talking
about the best duos the most underrated, really, it's not
best duos the most underrated, like they don't get enough
credit in your opinion, because even though Jamal Murray and
the Joker have won and he proven they're the best,
they don't get enough credit. By the way, jan so
with the bomb is the bomb? Yeah, it's a solo

(26:38):
shot and it is gone. Still lose by too, but
he's still playing big and so the best again, let
me rephrase most underrated duos based on Jamal Murray's quote
about them being the best, but the bigger market duos
getting more of the props, the Lebron and a Ds,

(27:01):
the Kyries and Luca as well, exactly. Michael runs this place.
Actually hit us up who Mike, and he said, have
you guys ever heard of Electra Woman and Dinah Girl? Underrated?
I looked it up. It's from the seventies. It's ridiculous.
Very funny. But again, who talks about that, right? I
got one. I can't say that I'm a fan, but

(27:22):
I was shocked when I found this out in recent history. Okay,
common knowledge to some, I get it. But you know
the song Surf City, Surf CEA. I've heard that song
for years and so wre it was the Beach Boys,
two Girls for Reveryboy. You know the song? Right? Of course,

(27:44):
it's not the Beach Boys, it's Jan and Dean. Who's Dean?
Who's Janan Dean? I mean, I know who. I've heard
of them, but when you look them up, the half
to half the songs you think are the Beach Boys
are Jan and Dean. And it's wild because when you
read about them, and I've heard of Jenendine obviously, but
I always thought the Beach Boys pioneered that sound. When

(28:07):
you look them up, it's just Jenendine pioneered that California
signature sound. The Beach Boys just took it and ran
with it and became monsters with that that genre, within
that within that time. But Jannandine, I'm gonna say it,
because who brings them up? Nobody? Nobody to our generation,
if you're older, it might be common knowlogy, You're like, yeah,

(28:28):
of course, but nobody talks about them because they talk
about the Beach Boys. Well, let's see bo knows hit
us up. He said, Hubs and Crockett. That's a good one.
They got. They got some love from the eighties. And
the word we might be looking for not boring is
This is from Jonathan Campbell on Twitter, methodical thought out.
Did they just play in a like a yeah and

(28:50):
and that I don't want to use a word.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
Well, some really good shooters on their team, though, so
I don't.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
Yeah, that doesn't mean you stink like dude. You know
what Floyd Meyweather, all the criticism about about being a
little boring at times, be guess what, he was fifty
and oh and arguably one of the greatest fighters of
all time. I think. So it's not necessarily a knock.
It's just it doesn't provide for the most exciting games,
exciting style.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
In for casual basketball fans like I had the Nuggets
on TV LIKEO, I guess it was a week and
a half or so ago, and my wife was watching
with me, And whenever Joker had the ball, whether he
was dribbling or he was under the basket. She's like this,
this guy is the MVP. He looks like he's like
half trying. It looks like he's half running. And it's true.

(29:37):
He just looks like he's playing with no effort, which
is no knock against him. But he also looks kind
of clumsy, like heavy footed.

Speaker 1 (29:44):
Almost and if any's playing with flippers on his feet.
If anything, someone said, if anything, it's a compliment because
you know, he plays at such an elite level and
it doesn't look like it. Yeah, and again the quote was,
I think we're the best duo. I think these other
cats Lillard, Giannis lebron ad people have more interest in

(30:07):
them because of the bigger markets, Luca Kyrie. If we're
talking about the best duos getting the job done, it's
it's them. They're undoubtedly number one according to Jamal Murray.
So based on that underrated duos. Your calls eight seven
seven ninety nine on Fox's Cavino and Rich Let's go
to Vegas. What's up? True? True?

Speaker 4 (30:27):
On?

Speaker 1 (30:27):
What's up?

Speaker 6 (30:29):
How you guys are doing? Man, it's my first time call,
and I just want to say I love you guys
the show.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
Hey, thanks man. Hold on your calling from Vegas. Let
me get sick and bro Now, next free is Roy.

Speaker 6 (30:40):
But I am not a Raiders fan. Sorry, I am
a giant fan from New York. Original cool. Sorry to
hear that, so.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
Is your favorite duo? Is your favorite duo the mullets
of Mark Bavarro and film McConkie's hair. Yeah, that was
a good duo.

Speaker 6 (30:56):
No, But my my pick is since your show is
spending around pop culture, I'm gonna say Batman and Robin
because I think that they were a crucial part of
pop culture. In sports when you have what was especially basketball,
when you have like two solid players, they're always referenced
as would.

Speaker 1 (31:15):
You say they're underrated? Not under Batman takes the lead
and people forget about Robin otherwise. I don't think they're
really that underrated. They're pretty rated. But I appreciate you. True.
Let's go to John and Ay Carolina. John, you're all
with C and R. They got thank you? Man. What's up?
What's your duo?

Speaker 6 (31:32):
Abbitt?

Speaker 1 (31:36):
That? I mean your parents? That's your parents answer that? Yeah,
but you know what, I also think that they're pretty
Y's like a top rated duo. Answer, Like I feel
like if you google the top or most popular duos
of all time. Abbott and Costello might be the number one.
I'll give you one. How about this, Larry and Belkie,

(31:58):
Kate and Ally. Let's go to job in Ohio.

Speaker 5 (32:00):
Hey, Josh, Hey, thanks for taking my call, first time
calling in.

Speaker 1 (32:05):
How about w W the Rockers? The Rockers? Dude, I
like the Rockers, So I like that answer. Yes, didn't
Marty Janette on a podcast like Admit to Murder? Then
he's like, just kidding. I think something like that happened.
I used to like the Rockers. I did. That's see,
that's a good answer, because when you talk about tag teams,
you know, it's always the same answer. It's always the
same people. I used to like Strike Force back in

(32:27):
the day. Yeah, it's because you look like Tito Santana. Yeah,
I like them. Let's go to Dan Bayer for an update.
And by the way, do you remember how the Rockers
broke up and wrestling? Remember seaw Michael Stay felt the
need to see other Rockers. Remember he threw Shawn Michaels
through Jeannetti through the glass window. Yeah at the barbershops,
Prudence's barber shop. Yes, you remember, What's Up.

Speaker 7 (32:48):
Was it Bobby Heenan that then said, like, why did
the window get in the way?

Speaker 1 (32:55):
Jeannetti tried to jump through the the best dumb moments
in wrestling history. So great, get out of there, you
guys touched on the play.

Speaker 7 (33:06):
In games happening tonight, there's more news in the NBA
Raptor Center. John Day Porter band for life for violating
the league's rules on gambling, while Pelicans forward Zion Williamson's
been ruled out of their play in Game Friday against
the Kings because.

Speaker 1 (33:20):
Of his hamstring strain.

Speaker 7 (33:21):
If they advance, don't expect Zion to shoot up for
the Pelicans anytime soon. Reports say it's at least a
two week injury for the pal Star. If you don't
mention it is Yankees trailing the Blue Jays right now
four to two in the eighth inning. In other action,
the Cubs are up on the Diamondbacks four to two
in the eighth Oakland's doubling up the Cardinals in the
seventh right now six to three, while Seattle has a

(33:42):
two to one lead on Cincinnati. That's in the sixth inning.
White Sox and Royals just getting underway in Game two
of their doubleheader earlier today, the Royals took game one
four to two. Brave sweep the Astros. Houston remains in
the last place in the AL West. Atlanta wins it
today five to four. Orioles walk off against the Twins
four to two to complete the sweep. There, brewerspeat the

(34:03):
Padres one nothing, Giants over the Marlins three to one,
Rangers dropped the Tigers five to four, Nationals blank the
Dodgers do nothing, while Riches Mets victorious over the Pirates
today nine to one, and one other note to pass along.
Champions League action going on right now. Man City and
Real Madrid in penalty kicks in their quarterfinal match after

(34:24):
being tied out and tied at for a piece on
Anger get after their first two legs, so now onto
penalty kicks. Bayron Munich advanced earlier today topping Arsenal three
to two on Anger Get guys back to you.

Speaker 1 (34:35):
Thank you, d me going over the most underrated duos.
I'll give a shout out here at fox Port Tray.
You know who I enjoyed the odd couple I do. Yeah,
I mean very rated, but still underrated in my opinion.
I love listening to those giges love, Dude, I just
love listening to Rob Parker. And then just like here

(34:57):
in Chris's reactions, you got some fis arguments sail in
the kitchen, you'll Rob, you can't be serious about that.
I'm serious. Cracks me up. Man, He's a Dodger stadium today.
I just I know, Hey, I got one for you,
Danny g two for you, because you're a hip hop guru.
One you're gonna be like, hell yeah, You're gonna say
epmd no, and then the other one you'll be like

(35:19):
hell no. But for me personally, they're underrated. Okay now
growing up on the East Coast, and I know hip
hop guys like you will be like, no, they're very rated,
but if you ask the casual dude, they don't know
who have it? And Prodigy for Mob Deep Bar and
I thought they were so cool back then, so good,
So I'm gonna throw them into the conversation, probably to
this day the best beat in all of hip hop. Dude,

(35:41):
Mob Deep so underrated, and you're like, if you heard
their songs, you'd be like, oh, I know that song
Mob Deep was great. And then me personally, I always
thought that dress dries dress and missed the Long Black Sheep.
We're so underrated. That first album, you know, only sold
five hundred thousand copies and the choice of choices yours

(36:02):
was a smash And I always loved them, and I
loved that album and I've been listening to it recently,
so I've been on that kick off. Man, they were
so underrated. Of those were ahead of their time. Yeah,
they were part of the whole you know, Jungle Brothers
and tribe called Quest sort of vibe. I you were
gonna say, Chris Cross, they'll make you jump, but I
don't know an jump. I don't hate on them, man
and Jojo. A lot of underrated duos for sure. Now, well,

(36:26):
if you have any thoughts at coviin on Rich and

Speaker 3 (37:21):
Be engine engine number nine on the New York Transit line.

Speaker 1 (37:32):
Come on, everybody, pick it up, Pick it up, Pick
it up. How do you have? One of the biggest
hip hop songs in the nineties in my opinion, and
only go gold.

Speaker 2 (37:42):
I was explaining to Iowa Sam off the air that
when this song first came out, there were actually some
stations playing the wrong version of it. Yeah, well, the
album version is different than this version, Like I don't know,
I said, yeah, the album version, and then there was
this version like at the end of the CD.

Speaker 1 (37:59):
Correct. So they were so underrated because I just started
listening to that. You ever get on a kick rich
and you go back and you're like, I'm gonna listen
to that one again just for the heck of it. Like, man,
they were so underrated, those guys DRez and mister Long.
I'd say that engine engine number nine little class so
has has been remixed into every club you've ever been
to in your life in your twenties back in the day.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
That's still to this stake, it's one of the biggest
reactions at clubs.

Speaker 1 (38:24):
Definitely, dude. So again we bring that up specifically because
we're talking underrated duos, although very rated Murray Joker and
the proof is in the championships, they're still kind of underrated.
They're not your go to answer when you think of duos.
You said championships. So you have them winning this year? Yeah,
I think they're gonna. I was just thinking that. I'm like,

(38:46):
I just developed a lisp. Anyway, do you you have
something info? We don't wrapping it stuff with with your
I got the scripts. Did you see they ask some
kid asked Brock party at it like a camp. Hey,
mister Perdy, is the NFL have a script? And everyone
starts laughing. He's like, no, kid, there's not Look. I
mentioned some hip hop underrated duos. I'm gonna throw out

(39:06):
two rock ones that come to mind, because when you
think of nineties rock, everybody leans into like Nirvana and
the Smashing Pumpkins or Pearl Jam. Dude Lane Stanley Jerry
Cantrell one of the greatest duos. They were the Simon
and Garfunkle of nineties grunge. And I'm going and I
bring them up because I'm going to see them not

(39:27):
this weekend, next weekend as Sick New World with their
new lead singer, of course. But Stalley and Cantrell were
a great duo and just a random rock band that
gets no credit from that era. Local H was two dudes.
Local H bound for the Floor, Scott Lucas, Joe Daniels.
They were two dudes in that entire band, so very
underrated because most people don't even know that. But we'll

(39:48):
wrap it up with your phone calls Wayne in Ohio.
What's up? Wayne?

Speaker 3 (39:53):
Hey?

Speaker 2 (39:53):
Wayne?

Speaker 6 (39:55):
Hey, what's up?

Speaker 1 (39:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (39:58):
What's UPR five second blurb. You guys are awesome let
me tell you something. You know everything music is universal.
God bless Black Sheet. That album is one of the
best albums ever.

Speaker 1 (40:11):
Dude, in the meantime, so many good songs, but here's.

Speaker 4 (40:16):
Here's where you go.

Speaker 6 (40:17):
Music is universal.

Speaker 7 (40:18):
Man. You know we are family.

Speaker 4 (40:19):
You know inner saying, Man.

Speaker 1 (40:21):
It's baseball.

Speaker 6 (40:22):
That's what baseball is all about. I just want to
tell you you guys are keeping my road rage down
listening to you on my way home every day.

Speaker 4 (40:30):
You rock.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
Love y'all.

Speaker 6 (40:31):
Hey, most underrated hip hop duo you and Caveno have
a nice day.

Speaker 1 (40:36):
There you go, Thank you, brother. I thought he was
gonna say like nice and small. I mean he's he's
Wayne from Ohio. I was thinking Wayne and Garth underrated.
They underrated? They are Garth. I do. I love Wayne
and Garth. I think they're great. I'm gonna go the
pain Cave. I was Sam all right, Craig in New York,
you're on with Covino and Rich based on Jamal Murray
and Joker being a quote underrated duo. Who do you

(40:59):
think is another under me?

Speaker 2 (41:02):
Personally?

Speaker 4 (41:03):
I mean, I'm I think ste Cortino, Mobley, Steve Francis
number one on the list.

Speaker 1 (41:10):
That's your number one underrated duo, and we appreciate all
the feedback.

Speaker 2 (41:16):
Hey Mobley fills in as a host sometimes here.

Speaker 1 (41:19):
What about SpongeBob and Patrick They're great. Yeah, you know,
people don't consider them a duo as much as they should.
That's a good one. You know who's thinking about is
very rated. You know who's making another movie together. It's
unfortunately not a sequel, but Danny DeVito and Arnold. Yes
it's not twenty twenty two, but they're working together again.
I thought that was one of my favorites of the

(41:39):
You're a great duo. So that's that's why there's a
market for Let's see what they got, all right, so
thank you guys. Again. We're live from the tire rack
dot com studios. If you'd like to add to our
list of underrated duos, hit us up at Coveno and
Rich at Coveno and Rich speaking to duos. All right, Well,
coming up, we are going to get to your dude,
Ryan Garcia. Some people say he's lost his mind. He's

(42:02):
got a huge fight this weekend that Covino's gonna be
watching with his father in law in Idaho, and we'll
talk about why he hates the Mets a very weird beef.
We'll break that down next, plus midweek major coming up
