why we're going old school, and what it's about.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
Real quick, Otani, watch Danny g Where are we at?
He doubled his last at bat, so what are we
officially at right now? He's at fifty one steals in
forty eight home runs.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Oooh, he's got this. Forty fifty one, he's got it.
He got it.
Speaker 3 (01:51):
I agree, fifty I think he'll I'm gonna say he'll

Speaker 2 (01:56):
Six, fifty one, fifty Alla Van Halen's style. Hey, oh, Tani,
watch Okay, Jet's gonna whoop ass tonight. We talked about that.
But right now, every Thursday we go old school.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
And it got me thinking today because I just happen
to see that on this day, you know, I.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Love on this day for some reason. I get a
kick at it. I mean, I know the reason. Easy
content to look up, fun facts.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
I mean, aside from doing Fox Sports Radio, which is
our well it's not our bread and butter, it's our
Tortillac on Monteguilla even better, Yeah, tortilla on Montegulla. So
it's it's our favorite thing to do. We also host
music stuff, and I host rock stuff, and Rich hosts
pop stuff, and it's very much pop part of the
pop world culture. Whose birthday is it today? On Wednesday?
Speaker 1 (02:46):
It's a National Cheeseburger Day.
Speaker 3 (02:48):
If anything, it's just stuff to look up and you
know whatnot it gives the day reference. But I noticed
that Doogie Howser MD debut on this day in nineteen
eighty nine. So what a huge day for a little
boy named Neil Patrick Harris playing Duke a doctor.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Hey Doke, Hey doul I'm on Tulsa King Now Dog.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Vinnie del Pino, great next door neighbor, great buddy. So
I'm thinking, oh wow, what a big day for Neil
Patrick Harris. That's when he got the green light that
you got a show on TV.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Young man.
Speaker 4 (03:20):
He's the only little child you'd let take your appendix out.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Yeah, and then.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
Sixteen years later, in two thousand and five, Barney Stinson
it was legend Wait for it.
Speaker 1 (03:33):
Darry Rich was a nerd for this show.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
Legendary How I Met Your Mother debut on CBS, and
that was my favorite sitcom of the two thousands. I'd
say The Office and How I Met Your Mother top
two of the ots.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Rich and I have been doing a radio show together
since two thousand and four. So that show started in
oh five and it ran the course of our friendship
and of our show. We had everybody from that show
on our show multiple time times.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
Every week.
Speaker 2 (04:01):
This guy would come in with a new storyline and
new conversation about How I Met your Mother. Really is
such a part of what we discussed for all those years.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
I thought How I Met Your Mother was better than Friends.
It just came out later.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
Rich loved it was the name of the bar they
hung out, McLaren's. Rich wanted to hang out at McLaren's
with them.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
And you know what, on the show, they were exactly
my age, living in New York, so I felt connected
to exactly. So a big day for Neil Patrick Harris.
But NPH, good dude, I'll say that as well. We've
met him several times. Good dude.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
So based on that, it's not easy to have lightning
strike twice where you hit it big twice, especially child stars, right,
child stars usually write you off. Get out of here, kid,
you're ugly now, So I don't care about you.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
Actors, athletes, musicians, who could you think of that struck
gold twice.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Well, I'm gonna say this, I'm gonna get struck. I'm
getting this one out of the way because when you
said it was an actor TV actor that struck gold
in the eighties and two thousands, my first thought was
Ed O'Neill. So I gotta go with that. Oh, because
the dude struck big. That's the key here. Some people
strike big and then they do something good. This is
lightning striking twice, meaning you had two good runs and
(05:15):
or two great runs. I should say he had a
great run as Al Bundy and a fine woman Give
it to the Shoe Store Today, Peg.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
And he had a great run on your other favorite show, Modern.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
Family and Jay Pritchett, I mean, as Ed O'Neill portrayed
those two characters. By the way, I have another one
what I thought was cool about Ed O'Neil was Al
Bundy might be one of the coolest legendary Yeah, pig,
it's the right, great bowler, great football player. I mean,
can you know what I were joking earlier that there's
(05:43):
never been a more fictional fun fact that every grown
man knows, and that's that Al Bundy had four touchdowns
in one game at Paul Kai.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
Great character. And then he comes back and we all
know the story. I mean, maybe you don't.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
He read the pilot episode of Modern Family and he
said this show's gonna last at least ten years.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
He knew it because it's just so well done.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
I mean, if anyone knows him. But you know what
it made me think of. I'm sorry to steal any answers,
but I'm gonna lightning striking twice.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
It's not easy.
Speaker 2 (06:16):
I have to throw his counterpart from Married with Children
in this conversation, not street rapper, Graham master b not Budbund.
But I know where you're going with this, Katie Cigal,
because she went from Married with Children and then I
never watched it, but everyone raised about sons of anarchy
and she was a part.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Of that shit in Futurama. Yeah, she was the voice
I was seeing a Futurama.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
I mean, but I've always heard she was on Sons
of Anarchy and was great on that.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
I never watched. Perhaps I'm wrong, but Futurama.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
There you go.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
I know Katie Sagal definitely struck twice, if not maybe
three times. There's I think she belongs in the conversation.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
There's someone. I'll throw it out there and then we'll
go to your phone calls us again. I don't want
to steal all the primo answers, but another actress that.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Has the question orrich Yeah, I always sticking to two
times only or could it be the two three times.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
More the better? But it's just so rare, Yeah it is.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
I mean, if you could give me someone that struck
lightning more than twice, I can only think of one
person really successfully, and that is a lane from Sidefeld.
Oh yeah, Julia, Richard, Louis Dreyfuss, Yeah, uh Seinfeld. New
Adventures of Old Christine, Old Adventures of New Christine whatever.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
By the way, and viep that was That was actually
a pretty good show. It didn't last long, but it
was a good show. But Veep definitely slayed it. So
I didn't watch it, but I know it did well,
So prop.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
Julia Louis Dreyfus.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
Now we go to you athletes musicians. Would you say,
are there any rock stars that come to mind for you?
Cove where they were in a band and then they
actually went to another band and both bands were successful.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
Audio Slave maybe Chris Cornell. Yeah, I thought Audioca was great.
I mean, it wasn't Sound Garden, but they were both
great bands. You know, there's a few of those, for sure.
A few of those come to mine, and I'll definitely
tell you about them. So let's go to the phones
at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox Striking lightning
or lightning striking twice.
Speaker 1 (08:08):
There it is, we're finding gold Eric and Sioux Falls,
what's up?
Speaker 5 (08:13):
And Rich So right on the musical end of things,
Dressed in Peace, Scott Wiland goes from son Teple Pilot
the Velve Revolver and the other thing too is Volve Revolver.
There's a lot of guys in that band that that
was their second major lightning strike.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Remaining members of Guns n' Roses. Yeah, hence the Revolver.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
Would you would you say lightning could strike twice when
someone goes solo.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
I was just gonna ask because I think that applies.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
Because if you say justin Timberlake or like Lionel Richie
Commodores and then solo Linel Richie or.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
I think so because everybody people try to do it,
but not everyone has that.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
You could say no Doubt and then Gwen Stefani on
her own.
Speaker 4 (08:55):
Then hip hop you could say Leaders of the New
School and then bust A Ross.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
You gotta have greatness twice, Let's do it. Eight seven
ninety nine on five.
Speaker 3 (09:02):
Mike and Alaska. You're on with Cavino and Rich Lightning
striking twice. Music, Sports, entertainment, you name it, go ahead.
Speaker 6 (09:10):
Yeah, I could actually do three on this one. Johnny
d I can never pronounce his last name, but he
was the son on Roseanne. Plus he played the Sun
in National and Boons Cris Vacation and then comes back
as Leonard Hofs that are in Big Banks, Erry Gow.
Speaker 1 (09:25):
Johnny Glckyucky yeas movies.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
You gotta take the movie out, but I'll give you
the double Doozy on The Big Bang and Roseanne.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
So yeah, Johnny Glucky is on this list. Good one
per perfect good one. Thank you, Mike. Let's go to
Rob and Tatos Texas.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
Rob it was man.
Speaker 6 (09:41):
Then you stole both my hands. So I got to
do an audible here because I was going to say
add On Neil and Katie Segal, but now I'm going
to have to say John Trabotha and Paul McCartney.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
You know what, Paul mccartty is a great answer because
Wings was successful.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
It really was. Wings was a great project for him.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
You know, I saw another podcast I can't remember who,
because I mean, everybody has one, right. They were saying
what celebrity could you say? Really never had a downside
of their career. They just maintained and remained an awesome
celebrity throughout their whole career. Paul McCartney was one of
those answers. But he did it with the Beatles, he
did his solo, he did it with Wings. He did it,
you know, on every stage of his career for sure.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
What's up? Dan Byer?
Speaker 7 (10:18):
You mentioned Julia Luis Dreyfuss, also from the Seinfeld world,
but maybe a step a little lower, but to me,
a bigger deal. Jerry Stiller to go from Frank Costanza
to Arthur Spooner on The King of Queens. Yeah, kind
of the same character, but not close to the same character.
(10:39):
But to knock him both out of the park, Like
if you call him Frank Costanza or you call him
Arthur Spooner, you're like, Yep, that's who it is.
Speaker 1 (10:46):
Yep, what's on it?
Speaker 3 (10:47):
From that local Italian place Deminos, I've already got braces.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
Oh, it's just the best.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
It's very tricky to strike it once and to rocker ryme,
that's run on time.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Well, you know, let me think.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
About this, are because this is very tricky and coaching.
Can you think of a manager or a coach that
was a championship caliber guy took a little break, came
back and was a championship caliber guy again.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Well, Joe Madden did it pretty well, right, did he
do it with HM? Maybe Jim Leland, Yeah, Jim Leland.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
That's a good one. Tony LaRussa, I mean his whole
career was good. But I don't know.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
If Tony two different teams, that's a tough.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
Yeah. You could say Peyton Manning.
Speaker 3 (11:31):
People thought he was done and while the defense did
carry him, he was the quarterback that won Super Bowls.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
With two teams, Sparky Anderson.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
Are there any athlete red friends to mine too, that
had the same success, if not more, with the second team, right, Like,
you can't say that even though he did well, you
can't see Joe Montana had the same success with the
Chiefs that he did with the forty nine ers. He
did well, respectable, but not the same. Right, he's clearly
(11:59):
a forty niner. So we're saying that, you know, greatness Twice.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
I was answering the phones that anyone mentioned who he
was handing the ball to Marcus Allen? Marcus Allen because
he definitely had success in Kansas City, tote in the rock.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
You know what about what about people that change industries
and their success like we I mean before things went
bad for him, like O. J. Simpson was a super
successful football player, then he became an actor in the
broadcast booth and then we know how that's oriented. But
you know, I would say that's you know, if you
(12:35):
could succeed in multiple industries, like because you're seeing guys
like Magic and Chevy Chase.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
OJ killed it three times?
Speaker 3 (12:41):
Yeah boy, all right, Uh, let's go to Let's start
with Scott and Florida. Scott Cavino and rich.
Speaker 5 (12:50):
Hey there, I missed a very very beginning.
Speaker 8 (12:52):
And I'm sure if you said this TV personality, but
Bob Newhart just passed away recently.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
Rest in peace.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
Yeah, yeah, you know Don Nutts when you think of
old school like you know, mister Furley and of course, yeah,
it's tough.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
It's tough two times, you know.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
Keeps coming to my mind though, Uh, Manny Ramirez because
he was great with the Indians and he was great
with the Red Sox. I wouldn't say he was great
with the Dodgers by any means, but I think he
had like equal I'd have to look it up, but
he was still great with both of those teams for sure.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
And I'm not saying it just because he was on
my team and Danny's Ye, there's a guy that very
few people you could argue had equal success for two
franchises because you're there's always a downtime, like you're like, well,
he was way better on my team and then went downhill,
like oh he came to my team, but he wasn't
the same as he used to be.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
Mike Piazza might be one of.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
The few guys like Piazza was all la.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
Debate is he a Dodger or is he a Met?
I mean, he's a Dodger, but he had so many
big Mets moments.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
I think Piazza to me slightly better as a Dodger,
but his biggest moments came as a Met because of
what it meant. Around nine to eleven, he had that
big home run and went on a World Series run.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
At least for the Mess.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
You know, this is just off the top of the dome,
like Harry Mack, the freestyle rapper. I said, many Ramirez right,
And of course he played for several teams, but he
played eight years with Cleveland and eight years with Boston.
He hit two hundred and thirty seven home runs with Cleveland,
two hundred and fifty six home runs with Boston right there,
(14:29):
and he average the same, dude, three thirteen and three twelve. Wow,
So he was equally great with both teams. That's rare
because you usually see the downside, like like I'm watching
a Yankee highlight in the background. Yeah, John Carlow, as
much as you like him, he's a Marlins were his
best years right out.
Speaker 1 (14:44):
Yeah, without a doubt. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:47):
One show that came to mind because when we were kids.
There were a couple of shows where we're like, man
to be a cop, it must be exciting, chips and
then TJ. Hooker so made me think of William Shatner
because then before that obviously Star Trek. So he's hit
a couple of times.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
That's a great one man. Yeah, because he totally reinvented himself.
You know, when you think about it, from space to
the streets of la When you.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
Think about shows from our childhood, a guy that it
makes me so sad that we lost him too soon,
and he would have continued to do great things. Jack Tripper,
John Ritter eight simple rules, eight simple rules. While I
didn't watch it a lot, that show had a lot
of buzz and hype, and then he passed away.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
I thought when you were talking about katie' siggo, I
forgot she was on that show too, dude, superstar.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
Yeah, I think we're sleeping on how many times she's
I'm going to do it all right now, your phone calls.
It doesn't have to be on TV, could be in entertainment,
could be in sports. We do a little crossfire, rapid fire,
get to your phone calls next, let's do it all right.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
Randy Scott, Matt Jimmy len Less, Everyone hang on rapid fire.
We're talking about lightning striking twice because today is the
day that Doogie Houser and How I Met Your Mother started,
So Doogie Howser and Barney Stintson a pretty cool day

other athletes, other musicians will take your feedback. Then we'll

Speaker 3 (17:20):
Hey, we're Cavino and Rich Fox Sports Radio every day
five to.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
Seven pm Eastern.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
But here's the thing, we never have enough time to
get to everything we want to get to.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
And that's why we have a brand new podcast called
over Promised. You see, we're having so much fun in
our two hour show. We never get to everything, honestly,
because this guy is over promising things we never have
time for.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
Yeah, you blubber list jam in me.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
Well, you know what it's called over promise. You should
be good at it because you've been over promising women
for years.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
Well, it's a Cavino and Rich after show, and we
want you to be a part of it. We're gonna
be talking sports, of course, but we're also gonna talk
life and relationships. And if Rich and I are arguing
about something or we didn't have enough time, it will
continue on our after show called over Promised. Well, if
you don't get enough Covino and Rich, make sure you
check out over Promised and also Uncensored, by the way,
so maybe we'll go at it even a little harder.
(18:08):
It's gonna be the best after show podcast of all time.
There you go, over promising, and remember you could see
it on YouTube, but definitely join us. Listen Over Promised
with Cavino and Rich on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts
or wherever you get your podcasts. Throwing it back on
a Thursday? Is it back to life? Back to reality
(18:30):
for the Patriots tonight? Rich says absolutely, just by twenty
thirty points. Ooh, that might be my lock. I don't know,
Lock and Key coming up.
Speaker 4 (18:40):
Slaughter's gonna happen, Hey, Cove, this is one of our
eight for a penny CDs back in the day.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
Oh yeah, sold soul Little Columbia House Action. Danny G
still owes Columbia House eight thousand dollars.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
He bought this and CNC Music Factory for Penny and
Bobby Brown. Danny G's on the phones at eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox at Covino and Rich. Always
post the new videos at Covino and Rich if you
want to play along at home, and thank you again
for hanging out with us. So wrapping this up. Yeah,
lightning striking twice. Allah, Neil Patrick Harris. I think Wes
(19:15):
and Vegas hit the nail on the head too. Wes
hit us up and he goes, dude, Phil Jackson, Yo,
Phil Jackson, coach, I mean, listen, I mean he's had
levels of his career, but coaching he struck twice.
Speaker 3 (19:27):
Phil Jackson. You know, luck, timing, talent, all these things
play a factor. But the fact that he had Michael
Jordan and Scottie Pippen in their prime and then finds
himself with Kobe and Shack.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
He actually said, Phil Jackson, Jesus. I don't know if
he met Phil Jackson and Jesus or Jesus did resurrect.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
So I don't know a TV powerhouse came to mind.
I'll give you guys a clue. She almost hit one
hundred years old Betty Why dude, she hit on the
Betty White Show way before our time. Yeah, yeah, and
then some of Elizabeth's show that ran for seasons after
that Mary Tyler Moore show our parents or grandparents watched,
of course, Golden Girls and then Hot in Cleveland.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
Well, let's say, if you want to talk about Golden Girls.
Be Arthur did have Maud, which was before my time,
but that was a big network hit. So be Arthur
had a couple doozies in there. Let's go Rapid Fire
and then we'll play lock and Key. We'll get to
Dan Buyer's update talks some NFL. Let's start with Philip
on the anniversary of Doogie Howser and How I Met
your Mother. It got us thinking that Neil Patrick Harris
(20:30):
had two hit shows debut on this day, So today's
so like Neil Patrick Harris.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
Dat which is more remarkable too, Rich, because you know
you and I discussed off the air on our Patreon today.
In fact, how hard it is for child stars again
to find that glory and he was able to do
it to me.
Speaker 3 (20:44):
Have you watching any of that Gary Coleman documentary, it's
sort of sad.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
Yeah, you know. Let's go to Philip in Ogden. What's
up Phil?
Speaker 10 (20:51):
Hey, guys, so I got one Chuck. Guys that started
out on the same show, We're Lightning hit three times
and they did it in the same way. Line is
anyways with Drew Carry and Wayne Brady. Then they both
went on to have the Wayne Brady Show and Drew
Carrey Show, and now they both each host the game show.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
You know What, and and those game shows are back
to back. That's pretty cool when you think about it, right, Yeah,
wait did show?
Speaker 1 (21:15):
Hey, just Otani just hit a two run dinger.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
I thought you were celebrating that guy's phone calls, Like man, second,
I was like, I didn't know Danny Jew was that
into that.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
Danny loves Drew Carry. Yeah, I thought that.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
I was like, I didn't know he was such a
Drew Carry guy. And now I see Otani celebrate when
the guy said and then they both host their own show.
Danny pumped his.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
Fist like man, Big game show guy, Randy in Vegas,
what's your answer?
Speaker 3 (21:41):
As we watched the Otani highlight. Hold on one second,
go ahead, you could talk. Look at this low inside hanger.
Speaker 4 (21:49):
Oh crushed, Randy, Otani just crushed that one.
Speaker 11 (21:53):
What's up, Randy, Let's go watch highlight of that one.
But two more of you guys, probably before your time
landing starting with Bonanza onto Little House and Highway to Heaven.
And then it's coming a part from that kill to
kind of put it in a sports name, Merlin Olsen.
Also going from the football field to little house and
(22:14):
father Murphy.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
You know, I love that. That's like almost like two
separate lives, Merlin Olson. And you know he went and
did all the other stuff. Same with George Forman. You
could say he had like great success in the ring
and outside and then went to the broadcast booth.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
Yep, yep.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
Oh by the way, something also, Juan Soto almost his
knee buckled and he's down and everyone's surrounding him in
the outfit.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
I hate this, I know. He look away. Cavino, he
dove into.
Speaker 3 (22:39):
The wall standing he's getting getting up. Oh man, you
don't need that. I just asked Kavino right before this danding.
I don't want to derail, but I go when your
team clinches, Like, what are you hoping for this last week?
Speaker 1 (22:51):
Do you want to just keep momentum? You rest? Guys,
what do you do? I'll tell you what you don't want?
You know, want your best player in geez want a
should not play into the playoffs? All right, let's go
to Albert in Texas? What's up Albert.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
Many.
Speaker 11 (23:08):
I don't know if this has been said or not,
but Mark Wahlberg, what's a good one?
Speaker 1 (23:13):
Marky?
Speaker 9 (23:13):
Mark?
Speaker 3 (23:13):
And then the actor? You're right, it's like two worlds.
He left, Yeah, and he did well in both. That's
pretty cool and it's a great answer, and you know
what you say? The same for Will Smith? Yeah, Will Smith,
he did it music, TV and movies. Wow, Hey he
has the triple crown there. Yeah, yeah, props to him.
Let's go to Jimmy and Texas. What's up Yimmy?
Speaker 12 (23:33):
Yo?
Speaker 8 (23:33):
What's up?
Speaker 1 (23:36):
Hey buddy? What do you think? What you got?
Speaker 11 (23:39):
Hey? Guys?
Speaker 13 (23:39):
I was gonna say real quick, I think, uh, maybe
on the same track as y'all. If so, I haven't
good answers.
Speaker 4 (23:45):
If not, they're bad.
Speaker 8 (23:46):
But I was gonna go with like Selena Gomez at
jenn Ortega like he said, Marky Mark, you know t
I guys like that that all that like dominated one
scene and we're.
Speaker 13 (23:54):
Able to get into a whole other scene and dominate
as well.
Speaker 8 (23:57):
Ludacris, you know people like that as it blows my
mind that they're multiall Mi.
Speaker 2 (24:01):
Chris started in radio, so he was a popular radio host,
popular rapper and in movies. But oh man, I thought
of somebody else, Drake, Oh Drake, And how about Jared Leto?
You made me think of him, Yemmy, Because there's a
lot of guys who they find their way maybe enacting
(24:21):
or whatever. Right, they're in a few movies, they do
their thing, and then they try to start a band,
but that band's never really that good.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
Thirty Seconds to.
Speaker 3 (24:27):
Mars was a pretty legitimate band, definitely, So you know,
I think Jared Leto's done pretty well.
Speaker 4 (24:33):
No Mickey Mouse Club, Britney Spears and in that case
just in.
Speaker 1 (24:36):
Uh Timberlake Timberlake three times three times, so lightning striking
twice more than once.
Speaker 3 (24:42):
Not to be pop guy, but all the most of
the dudes from one direction, like Harry Styles was a
boy band reality guy. He was on What X Factor
last year before the Taylor Swift rage. Everyone's kids were
going to see Harry Styles selling out stadiums. Let's go
to lenin Syracuse, my old stomping grounds.
Speaker 8 (25:00):
What's up, hey, guys, I think I may have the
definitive cross industry winner. How about Miami Steve Little Steve
van Zant fifty year guitarist for Bruce Springsteen and then
transitions into the COI for Tony Soprano was out.
Speaker 1 (25:21):
They pulled me back in. That's a great answer. I
love dude.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
I'm watching the Sopranos now and I'm reliving the whole thing.
And by the way, if you were a fan, you
should watch the David Chase documentary on HBO max Is
behind the scenes of that whole story and everything else.
Speaker 4 (25:35):
There's also a documentary on Little Steven that's out.
Speaker 1 (25:38):
Oh that's awesome.
Speaker 2 (25:39):
Yeah, that is pretty cool when you think about it,
because David Chase saw him as the story was that
guy Stevie van zandt from the E Street Band.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
Yep, that guy.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
He looks like al Pacino to me, and Steve van
Zana's like, I'm not an actor.
Speaker 1 (25:52):
He's like, you are, you just don't know it yet.
Speaker 4 (25:54):
And prior to that is music totally evolved because he
went to be like an activist.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
That's so cool, man. And you know what, that's a
good answer, Len, great answer.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
You deserve some dinosaur barbecue, which, by the way, is
Len still on the phone?
Speaker 1 (26:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (26:06):
I think he's there still, Len, Lenn, some dinosaur barbecue
for you, my friend. Awesome, best barbecue outside if you're
if you're an upstate New York that's the that's the
stuff right there.
Speaker 1 (26:19):
All right, let's close with lesson Florida. What's up? Less?
Speaker 12 (26:23):
What's up?
Speaker 6 (26:24):
Boys?
Speaker 13 (26:24):
I'll make it quick, just one for acting, and a
couple from music from Kelsey Grammar and Danny Debato from
Cheers to Always Sonny in Philadelphia and Fraser Yeah yeah,
and then from music. I can't believe no one said it,
Tate Roll from Nirvana to.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
That's a great answer, me so obvious. You're right.
Speaker 13 (26:45):
You give us good one, lady, Probably to put a
bone in this thing. Eric Clapton, because he's the only
person I know that won Song of the Year the
same song twice.
Speaker 2 (26:56):
With that's very cool, good one. Now you ain't. Yeah
that Dave Grohlan is such a great answer too, because
think about it. It's so hard to make it. You
make it, then you lose it, and then you gotta
make it again.
Speaker 1 (27:07):
And he did it.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
Yeah, that's incredible. So hey, thanks for sharing, Thanks for Karen,
and if you want to add more to this, hit
us at Covino and Red.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
Dan Bayer for an update. dB.
Speaker 7 (27:20):
Yeah, as you guys said, show Hey, Otani home run
number forty nine, add on the two stolen bases. Dodgers
lead the Marlins nine to three. In the sixth inning.
The stolen base total for Otani now up to fifty one, so,
as he said, one home run away from fifty to fifty.
Speaker 9 (27:35):
Wow.
Speaker 7 (27:35):
Yankees continued to trail the Mariners three too. That came
now on the seventh inning in Seattle. Earlier today, the
Braves right of the Reds fifteen to three, so they
inched a bit closer to the final wild card spot
in the NL held by Rich's Mats. In the Arizona Diamondbacks,
I don't know if I should say that they are
a game and a half back of the second wild card.
Although it's technically true because they're tied, it just sounds
(27:57):
better when you say that.
Speaker 1 (27:59):
The year a game and a half back of the
final wildcard. No doubt.
Speaker 7 (28:02):
The Orioles are four and a half back of the
Yankees as we speak after this happened in Baltimore, deep
brightfield that goes Kanda at the track at defense.
Speaker 1 (28:12):
Does it have it up?
Speaker 5 (28:13):
Yes? It does?
Speaker 1 (28:14):
Baby? Then what's gone?
Speaker 12 (28:16):
What up?
Speaker 1 (28:17):
Hoover Anthony Sun tunder the Orioles, winning five to three.
Speaker 7 (28:22):
Wbal and the Orioles radio networkers. They top the Giants.
Guardians clinched a playoff birth beating the Twins in ten
to three to two. Minnesota now tied with the Tigers
for the final wildcard spot in the American League. Some
NFL injury news. Jordan Love of the Packers limited in
practice again today. He's considered a game time decision, according
to his head coach Matt Lafleur, for their matchup in
Tennessee against the Titans on Sunday. Chargers are in Pittsburgh
(28:44):
to face the Steelers. Quarterback Justin Herbert limited in practice
with his ankle injury. No practice for forty nine Ers
tight end George Kittle today. He's dealing with some hamstring tightness.
Bengals wide receiver T Higgins officially listed as limited.
Speaker 1 (28:57):
They don't play.
Speaker 7 (28:58):
Until Monday night in that doubleheader against the Washington Commanders.
No practice for Texans running back Joe Mixon. Two college
football notes. Number one, Texas will start Arch Manning at
quarterback in Saturday's home tilt against Louisiana Monroe. That's because
Quinn Youewers will not play because of an oblique injury.
And Metallica announced future dates on their tour that will
(29:19):
stretch into the spring of twenty twenty five. That includes
the stop at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, Virginia, home of
the Virginia Tech Hokies and Virginia Virginia text football program
known to come out to enter Sandman every football game. Yes,
they will be playing at that stadium a one night
only show on May seventh.
Speaker 1 (29:40):
That's awesome. Yes, actually I say ooh yeah, back to
you guys, thank you.
Speaker 9 (29:47):
Hey.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
You know we got to do next.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
We got to do our Survivor pool, our spin on
a Survivor pool lock and key. What is your lock
of the week as we get into Thursday night football tonight.
And I just saw a prop. Bet, let me just
throw this out here because we are doing our DraftKings
code see our show. If George Kittle is banged up
and there's no debo and there's no McCaffrey. How do
(30:13):
you not bet your mortgage on Brandon Ayuk over sixty
eight yards? Some places have it at sixty five yards.
Who's party? Who, by the way, leads the league in
passing yards? Who will party throw the ball to? If
there's no Kittle, no McCaffrey, no debou.
Speaker 2 (30:33):
It's not official, but all right, well, hey, speaking of
throwing some money out there, TD Tuddy taking it to
the house. Whatever you call a touchdown, they matter more
at DraftKings Sportsbook, no dignity an official sports betting the
partner of the NFL.
Speaker 3 (30:48):
Hey try betting something simple like players to score a
touchdown now tonight? You might say, oh, Brice Hall, I
feel like the Jets are gonna put up a lot
of points. I don't know about you score big. DraftKings

Speaker 13 (31:56):
There.
Speaker 2 (31:56):
He is the greatest dad ever, James Hetfield, because he
never says no.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
That was a stellar queue up, by the way, Yeah,
hey Dad, can I have ice cream?
Speaker 9 (32:06):
Yeah? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (32:08):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (32:09):
Cavino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio. I'll be playing
Metallica tonight every night, Hey Dad? On three six Turbo
forty one, can.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
Get Can I get a toyot Target? Oh yeah, he's
the best. Can I have candy after dinner? Before dinner?
Actually yeah?
Speaker 2 (32:26):
Cavino and Rich live from the tire right from studio.
You got on Steve Cavino, that is Rich Davis and Man,
it's getting later early. I want to talk about dancing
and dance moves. Derek Carr was fine, Jason Kelsey's dancing.
I don't know if we're gonna have time because we
got to do lock and key. Okay, there, Travolta, all right,
let's do this.
Speaker 1 (32:47):
The Survivor locks, like the locks on your doors, unbreakable.
Speaker 9 (32:55):
See it, rs lock and key.
Speaker 1 (32:57):
You can't be locked out if you have the key.
Speaker 9 (33:00):
The key is making great picks. Only a lifeline can
save you.
Speaker 4 (33:04):
Come on, all right, it is our spin on Survivor
pools Buyers hosting the Gottlieb.
Speaker 1 (33:10):
Show with Monsey tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (33:12):
So we're doing our picks today so that everybody's involved
and everyone on the crew who is still alive is
gonna pick today. All right, I'll talk about that in
a second.
Speaker 1 (33:23):
You go get a couple of coffee, can leave.
Speaker 4 (33:25):
The ones the last one NFL team that we think
is a lock to win straight up. We all picked
a number earlier for the order, and the order is
important because no team can be picked twice for the
week before the crew all get their turn, we have
a listener pick first. If our caller wins their bet
the next week, they'll have the power to resurrect one
person on the show who was knocked out. So you listening,
(33:48):
are the key, the last one of us left standing
the season is going to win a badass locking key trophy,
and we're gonna go out to a nice show dinner
where we all celebrate the victory the victor and treat
them to a nice steak dinner.
Speaker 1 (33:59):
All right.
Speaker 4 (34:00):
Last Friday, Wes in Vegas picked the Ravens to beat
my Raiders.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
In your face, Wes, what do you have to say
for yourself?
Speaker 11 (34:09):
So we're calling the twist the knife.
Speaker 10 (34:11):
I see how it is.
Speaker 13 (34:12):
I feel bad.
Speaker 10 (34:13):
I'm embarrassed at the Ravens lost, and congratulate you, dangy.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
Now what a good sport West.
Speaker 4 (34:20):
I know, hypothetically, had your bet one would you have
resurrected rich Or Sam.
Speaker 13 (34:25):
Oh Sam all the way anybody that picked the Cowboys
that deserves.
Speaker 1 (34:32):
I did pick the Cowboy.
Speaker 4 (34:33):
Yeah, just so you know, last week Rich lost with
the Cowboys, Sam lost with the Niners, but Buyer one
with the Texans, Covino one with the Chiefs, Spot one
with the Jeffs the Jets, and I won with us,
and I one with the Commander.
Speaker 1 (34:48):
I was just say, go blimps the quarterback, by the way,
just because I'll make fun of myself, I so arrogantly
said the Cowboys, Oh yeah, you have sas trashed, I
quote much so much hate for the Saints. I'm pretty sure.
Speaker 3 (35:02):
I was like, guys, I can't believe you left the Cowboys.
Speaker 4 (35:06):
For me, Like I was, so, all right, Well, this
week we'll pull this out our potential key you could
bring one crew member back next week is Sean and Sacramento?
Speaker 1 (35:17):
What up? Shown Hey Sean?
Speaker 12 (35:18):
Yeah, my graduate ould.
Speaker 4 (35:20):
Tell alum, I was going on brothers sew this week's
order Sean than me, Spot Buyer and Coveno.
Speaker 1 (35:26):
Sean, who's your luck? Hold on? Sam low with this
a little bit. I'm I'm not in a rave here
as last year.
Speaker 4 (35:33):
Danny g Yeah yeah, wow the number you pulled was
last That sucks.
Speaker 1 (35:38):
That changes everything better? Number all right? Hate Sean all right, brother.
Speaker 5 (35:43):
Man, my lock this week traveling from the Rocky Mountain.
Speaker 11 (35:47):
To the beaches of Florida, give me the Tapa Bay
Buccaneer to defeat those.
Speaker 5 (35:51):
Lowly Denver Broncos.
Speaker 8 (35:53):
The biggest thread right now.
Speaker 1 (35:55):
Yeah, he took my picu. That's a good call.
Speaker 4 (35:58):
That was the one number one my board too, number
two on my board.
Speaker 1 (36:01):
This is my pick.
Speaker 4 (36:03):
My Las Vegas Raiders are hosting the Panthers Red Rifle.
It doesn't matter who's behind that god awful O line.
The Raiders, I think, have some momentum right now and
can pile a couple of w's at home and now
up next.
Speaker 12 (36:17):
Body boy, you know, my gut tells me to stick
with my peak pick last week, but I actually want
to switch it up a little bit.
Speaker 1 (36:22):
Just have some fun.
Speaker 12 (36:23):
Your gut tells you want a cheeseburger that too, but
I did have a cheezburger yesterday Cheezburgerday. Also, my gut's
telling me there's no way the Giants could go oh
and three, But my gut's also telling me the Giants
are going to go oh and three. I'm taking the
Browns this week to beat the Giants, all right, and
now dan Byer.
Speaker 7 (36:41):
Gosh, that was one of the top ones on my list.
Since I'm near the end of this list, I'm going
to go to the end of the schedule. Give me
the last game on the schedule. Bengals ge a win
beating the Commanders and that's good. One Monday night doubleheader.
Speaker 1 (36:52):
Goodness all.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
Wow, you guys left Coveno with the easiest thinking last
but not least, Steve Covino.
Speaker 2 (37:00):
I'm I'm you know what Rich keeps saying, doing the
do the opposite of what he's picking. But he really
sold me on tonight's game. I'm going for it tonight.
I'm leaning in. We have a Thursday night opportunity because
we're doing it a day early.
Speaker 1 (37:12):
I'm going Jets. They're called the Jeff Sniff. Okay, the
Jeffs to win at home. Big game for Aaron Rodgers.
Speaker 2 (37:20):
As we discussed the peer the Patriots, like Rich said,
I agree, back to life, back to reality for the Patriots.
Speaker 1 (37:27):
It's a turning point for the Jets.
Speaker 15 (37:29):
Tonight, firemanhead, get everybody fired up. Let's go Jet And
by the way, some great picks because you took you know,
you took mind.
Speaker 2 (37:40):
Danny g after Sean took mind, so you left me
with that when I'm going with it jets.
Speaker 4 (37:45):
All right, And this is also a way to celebrate
the pe ones, the regular listeners. If you'd like to
be one of our potential keys, just email me at
Crprizes at gmail dot com. That's cur Prizes at gmail
dot com.
Speaker 3 (37:59):
Yeah, there's a couple games or we're gonna dive into
all these tomorrow, but there's a few games that I'm
gonna sit home tonight and do a little homework. I'm
gonna break out my my little spiral notebook and make
notes because there's a couple games.
Speaker 1 (38:10):
I gotta look at the injury reports. I want to
look at what's doing.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
My instincts are that we're gonna have one hell of
a game when the Cowboys take on the Baltimore Ravens.
Does that not seem like a game that's gonna be
fire in Dallas?
Speaker 1 (38:29):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (38:30):
All right, Now, just think of the ramifications there. Cowboys
are at home. I mean, I think just two teams
not meeting their expectations. Though, right, it's so early, but
if the Cowboys win, they're two to one, and no
one blinks an eye because.
Speaker 1 (38:44):
The Eagles have lost. They lost.
Speaker 3 (38:46):
There's no undefeated team in the NFC East. If the
Cowboys win, they're sort of back on your mental trajectory
of over ten wins. Cowboys are a playoff team. Dak ceedee, lamb.
You know Zeke's back, They got you know, good defense
except for lesser right you you we'd look at the
Cowboys as back where you thought.
Speaker 1 (39:06):
But if the Ravens lose, the Ravens are.
Speaker 3 (39:08):
Oh and three, and I'd have to call up our
friend the Lias at the Sports Bureau and be like, yo,
can you give me an NFL stat have own three
teams made the postseason. There's probably like a San Diego
Chargers team from back in the day that started owing
three and made away.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
That I mean you got, I picked Lamar Jackson as
your potential MVP again, I.
Speaker 1 (39:27):
Mean oh and three.
Speaker 3 (39:30):
You might be able to dig out of that because
maybe that AFC North, the winner of that division will
be ten and seven, so you have a little leeway.
Speaker 1 (39:37):
But if you start ow and three, you're gonna start hope.
You need to.
Speaker 3 (39:41):
Start hoping that the Steelers and the Bengals start dropping
some too, because oh and three, that would mean you'd
have to win three in a row.
Speaker 1 (39:48):
To get right back to five hundred. That's a hole
right there.
Speaker 2 (39:51):
Yeah, that's a big time hole. So yeah, no, that's
a good one. But enjoy your Thursday night football. Root
for the Jets. That's my lock for the week. And again,
if Sean win, he gets to save somebody in this
survivor pool of ours. Thanks for playing long eight seven
to seven ninety nine on Fox. Now Rich another game.
I just want you to fight Fucus tomorrow again. I
want to break that that a little more.
Speaker 3 (40:11):
Let me give you two more games, so the tomorrow
we could focus a little on Cowboys Ravens. Yeah, but
tomorrow we do your solar power parlay, right, Yeah, who's
o's gonna go? The Texans at the Vikings. Vikings play
well at home, as you know, coming off a win
against the Niners. But Houston, as we said yesterday c
J Stroud, the anomaly, not the expectation. So Houston at
(40:34):
Minnesota is a game that I can't wait to watch.
And then you have the Eagles coming off what you
would consider a devastating loss where Nick Siriadi and Saquon
Barkley probably wish they had that minute of their life
back at New Orleans, who I still don't believe in.
But New Orleans is favored in that game. So so
(40:56):
many great games. I can't wait to sit on my
ass and do nothing someday. But watch all this and
it starts tonight Tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (41:02):
We react to tonight's game, Patriots Jets, we give you
Rich's Solar Power parlay, and we'll also be playing Chipotle
worker or NFL player if we have time.
Speaker 1 (41:12):
We're just trying.
Speaker 2 (41:13):
We just go, okay, trying to give away some prizes,
get you involved.
Speaker 1 (41:17):
Maybe some Swiggys.
Speaker 2 (41:18):
Available for tomorrow's Friday spectacular here on the show.
Speaker 3 (41:23):
And since we're running out of time, exce up, Danny,
what about in and out employee or or NFL player? Sure, hey,
we can always improvise.
Speaker 4 (41:31):
I was looking since we got to do Locking Key today,
I was looking for a fun game tomorrow that included
the NFL and gave you a swiggy at home, all right.
Speaker 2 (41:40):
Danny g always thinking about you, guys, And you can
always qualify for a prize by leaving a nice review
wherever you stream your podcast actually on Apple Podcasts, search
Cavino and Rich leave review and Danny g'll email you
now since we're running out of time, Rich, we'll save
the Derek Carr and Jason Kelsey all these dance conversations
for tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (42:00):
On over Promised.
Speaker 2 (42:01):
In seven minutes Fox Sports Radios YouTube page, we'll discuss
family legacy.
Speaker 3 (42:06):
Are the Mannings number one? And there's a family in
the NFL. I'll just give you a hint. I'll save
it for over Promise. Here's a family in the NFL. Grandpa,
kids and grandkids equal seven NFL starters. Okay, so who's
the number one with family legacy in sports? We'll discuss
that on Fox Sports Radios YouTube page in minutes live
(42:28):
so you can chat live on YouTube. And we'll play
old school sports video game trivia. Old school sports video
game trivia mostly Nintendo games that we grew up on.
Speaker 2 (42:40):
How well do you know them? We'll do that on
