You're listening to KPI AM six fortythe Bill Handle Show on demand on the
iHeartRadio apps. Is he would liftup that covering, that little blanket,
look at the genitals and make somecomment like look at the size of that

(00:23):
thing or whatever he was saying, and you can't do that. He worked
on Handle and he lifted it upand he said, hello, madam,
okay, and now Handle on thenews. Ladies and gentlemen. Here's Bill
Handleman. Good morning everybody, BillHandle. Here it is Aday, Wednesday,

(00:43):
April twenty fourth. By the way, if this were television and we
were streaming this on TV or onthe internet, as that promo was being
uttered and broadcast, Neil put histhumb and index finger together very closely,
as in to indicate a diminutive distance. Yeah, yeah, tiny, tiny,

(01:11):
tiny, little wiener. Yeah, pretty much. And you know,
how do I deny that Neil hasseen me naked before in compromising positions when
we were together. He walked intoa hotel rooms, he walked into a
wall, aroused and went out mynose. And Neil and I enjoyed many

(01:34):
nights together in hotel rooms, which, bright the way, is not a
lie. We have shared many ahotel room. I'm the worse for it.
Yeah, and that's because, okay, I am now as opposed to
accusing you of having homo erotic tendencies. It's because we would travel and I

(01:56):
would pay, and I was toocheap to get his two hotel rooms the
tracks. Okay, Good morning,Neil, Good morning, Willie Wolf,
Hey Kono, good morning, goodmorning, all right, and there is
Amy, Good morning, Amy,Good morning, Bill. All right,
what a day, and good morningto you. Good morning, sir,

(02:17):
all right, excellent. As westart the day as always, let me
get the let me get the news. Pile here, Yeah, a stack
of stuff. Hey, I wantto make an announcement which I have not
made many times before, and thatis you notice that when I talk about

(02:38):
buying a new house and I talkabout downsizing, it's always the word I
am downsizing. And for people whoare fairly astute or not even astute.
Is I don't mention Marjorie very muchanymore because several years ago Marjorie and I

(02:58):
separated and we are still enormously greatfriends, and we get together very often
and get together with the kids,so it's become totally amicable. Smartest things
she ever did. Yeah, yeah, absolutely, And so there is another
woman in my life that and thishappened years ago and I just haven't shared

(03:23):
it with you because I thought, yeah, it's done of your business.
But you know what, I havebeen sharing my life with you openly for
a very very long time. Everytime something happens to me, every time
I have a serious case of diarrhea, I share that. No that's not
true, I don't do that, but in any case, so I will

(03:44):
be referring to Lindsey, who isnow part of my life. And I
just wanted to let you go out. And Neil has already talked about Lindsay
and I mentioned her from time totime. You do mention her from time
to time. If you go toevents or whatever, you will see this
this woman, and we're pretty close, and matter of fact, we're very

(04:11):
close with the most basic of things. I'm just glad you identified her as
a woman after you talked about ussharing a room and saying that you and
Marjorie are now you know, filingfor divorce, and and that there's someone
else in your life. I'm justglad that you named it. It wasn't
ye, And you know, Imean, there's certain things about Lindsey that

(04:32):
you know, I was kind ofshocked. For example, we got together
and she said, Bill, I'mstill a virgin, and I actually believed
her. So she's eighty two.Yeah, I know she did say that.
I was just hoping she would saythat, really I'm the first today,

(04:56):
No, she is. Anyway,I'm crazy about her, and I
just wanted to point that out.And again I reiterate that Marjorie and I
are immensely close and we get togetherwith the kids on a regular basis.
Lately it's been once a week. And the other thing I haven't shared is

(05:18):
I have downsized, as you know, and I bought another house and it's
an Orange County so it is adrive up there when I go to the
studio. All right, anything else, okay, okay, how about all
right? EV charging system by Walters, roof Repair by Oh my god,

(05:44):
did I actually forget the roofing system? Here is I'm sorry, Advanced roofing
system. Sorry about that, CarlosSunlux for the solar I'm putting in.
I am dial in, no listen, and I one of the things I
do is when I talk about thestuff that I endorse. It's the stuff

(06:04):
that I endorse. Life source Water. Oh yeah, Life source Water has
already gone in. Sure when youand Lindsay get married, is the first
kiss going to be brought to youby Zelmans? It's probably idea, that's
it. Zelmans is going to sponsorif I can get if I can get

(06:24):
it free. You know, mybest friend Savil, who of course you
know very well, Neo, whenmy girls were bot mitzvad I, I
said that would you pay for thebot mitzvah if I had a Holocaust theme

(06:44):
where every table was like the hellis a different campaign, and the waiters
all never mind? I know,is a script that I have in front
of me in the rundown is completelydifferent than what's any of this? Yeah,
okay, anyway, just wondered whatthey called going off page. Yeah,
no, I wanted. I wantedto bring that up, you know,

(07:05):
because it's I do not like actuallykeeping secrets from you, because I
haven't you, I mean those ofyou in radio land. Hey, this
is going smoothly, keep going. This is great now, that's it.
Oh, this is great. No, let me ask you to slide into
a horrible joke because of your discomfort. Now this is great, keep going,

(07:30):
yeah, because it's so new forme. Uh, it's uh,
you know, people have midlife crisis. I never did. Very early on,
I was a fan of crossco,so I slid right through any potential
midlife crisis because I would just goto therapy on a regular basis three times
a week to costco. I've beendoing that for years and years and years.
Well, yesterday, technically you gota new set of wheels because Lindsey

(07:55):
us that's chair. Oh well,oh and what I did get us a
new set of wheels and what else? Oh? Okay, on my ev
that I got from Sterling bmwh inthe in the driveway at the new house.
Oh yeah, well no, it'snot parked in the driveway. It's

(08:16):
parked in the garage because my chargeris in the garage. I thought you
said, ed, Hey, it'stime to go to break. It is
time to go to break, andthen we'll come back. So just a
personal sharing and thank you Neil fortaking all of my news and making it
miserable. Now we continue or actuallystart handle on the news with Amy and

(08:37):
Neil and me. Lead story ison and the Senate passed that ninety five
billion dollar package that the House passsending a to Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan
plus the TikTok bill forcing Byte Danceto sell TikTok. We're going to talk
about that. Uh. And itwas overwhelming in terms of the vote.

(09:00):
And once again Marjorie Taylor Green anda couple of other hardline Republicans are now
saying Mike Johnson, who manipulated ordrove the bill through Congress, now he
has to resign and we're going todo what we did to Kevin McCarthy.
Ain't gonna happen. Just is notgoing to happen, even though she's screaming.
She's on a desert island screaming, and clearly there's no power there because

(09:24):
the House doesn't have the stomach todo it. Again, she says that
she'd only be happy if Charlie McCarthywas in there. That's very good,
and she would do the talking yes, yes, and Mike Johnson would move
the lips. Yes. So shootinga deputy was just one of this guy's
horrible choices. There's also the drinkingand driving that ultimately got him caught.

(09:48):
Ramondo Duran was arrested on Monday onsuspicion of DUI and a weapons possession charge
that happened in San Diego, andsheriff said that based on the statements that
the guy made to officers and surveillancevideos of the area where that La County
Sheriff's deputy motorcycle cop was shot, they believe that that was the sub the

(10:15):
guy who did the shooting. Yeah, that's a bad guy. You're absolutely
righty, And he got a seventyyears old Yeah. And the cop,
the deputy, Samuel Samuel Aesputro,is sitting on his motorbike at at a
stop sign or a red light, just sitting there with everybody else ready to
go, and this guy shoots himin the back. And thank goodness for

(10:37):
that vest. We talked about thatyesterday, which cops are required to wear,
and it saved his life and he'sgoing to recover. It's just a
real good, hard punch, iswhat ends up happening when you're wearing that
kevlar vest. Hey, we shoulddo that. Put you in a vest.
I'm a great shot. It's terrific. Yeah, you'd shoot me in

(11:01):
the head, No, by accidentally, by accident, trust me, your
head is much harder than kevlar vest. I think you'll be fine. Ricochet
right off, all right. Accordingto DA George Gascone and I used DA
in quotes Getty house, intruder wastargeting Mayor bass there at her home and

(11:24):
she was there. Yeah, andapparently they're saying that the intruder knew that
she was there at the time.Yeah, and there's security there. I'm
wondering about that story. Well, they got there very quickly, I mean
within minutes, So I think there'ssecurity at the house, security personnel or
security systems. I think both. You would imagine there was. But the

(11:45):
damage they say is they broke througha window door and maybe it's in the
back. Maybe it's the back ofthe house. I don't know what kind
of security. And I'm guessing,by the way, I don't know for
a fact that there's Okay, Yeah, I don't know. And if there
is security, maybe it's only inthe front yard area. I don't know
if they have armed security, ifthe LAPV was secure armed no, no,

(12:07):
no, no, they Yeah. You got to imagine that the response
was quick, and I'm sure they'renot going to go into details to what
her security. Of course, thetiame is like, yeah, inmates running
the asylum scenario. Officials at ColumbiaUniversity say they are extending negotiations with the
students who've taken over the campus andset up a camp they're at the pro

(12:33):
Palestinian demonstrators. Just a few hoursago, Columbia's president had said, you
guys have till midnight to come upwith an agreement with us and clear that
camp out. And then just shortlyafter that they go, oh, you
know what, We're going to extendthose negotiations. So they have another forty
eight hours. Yeah, and there'sa whole story to that, and one

(12:54):
big, big hole that I thinkthe demonstrators are missing, and I'm going
to talk more about that. Andthese pro Palestinian demonstrations across schools are growing
and growing like crazy. There's oneup been in Humbled right now where they've
barricaded themselves inside one of the buildings. Yeah, taking over an administration building
isn't that special. This is whenthe school expels any student and the cops

(13:18):
go in and arrest them for doingthat. I know this might not be
the right term, but tortious interferenceor something of them being able to do
business. I think so or wide. It's one I want. Yeah,
student against students saying I can't,I can't. Yeah, that's not well,

(13:39):
that's interference with it's not so muchbusiness. No, but I'm doing
it. But you're right, you'reright, And I don't know the answer
to that is because it's a FirstAmendment issue versus a student having the right
to be in class. Although theargument is they can do it online.
Can they have designated but that's notYeah, they do it, of course

(14:01):
they should designated places. And whenyou talk about demonstrations on the street,
that's exactly what happens. The policeset up areas where you demonstrate your brains
out, and it's it's that simple. I'll tell you what what else goes
crazy? When demonstrators not only shutdown schools. Don't you love the one
the demonstrations to the shutdown freeways andyou're stuck on the freeway for four hours?

(14:24):
Boy? That really I really thinkthese guys are right. I'm really
on your side. Now at thatpoint, that's criminal activityh yeah, well
trespassing is criminal activity. All right, let's h oh, we can do
one more because I'm going to talkmore about this by the way as so.
The woman who was attacked by atransient later died. Do you remember
the stab wounds in her neck onthe metro train there was identified by family

(14:50):
members as sixty six year old MyrnaSusa. What just a sad, sad
story. She unprovoked, no altercationbefore she he actually was going to hurt
job. She was a security guard. Yep. He is a known perpetrator,

(15:11):
has been in trouble before for attackingMetro passengers and harassing them. Clearly,
the guy is kind of nuts.Homeless, crazy, that's my guess.
Certainly homeless, and there's no defenseto that. There is no defense
to that whatsoever. When it's arbitrary, you don't know it's coming, No

(15:33):
one is targeted. A knife justcomes out from a pocket or under a
coat, and you just can't doit. This is why, this is
why security guards on the Metro shouldhave automatic weapons. Where someone does that,
just start spraying the area and granteda few people are going to get
hurt, but that's a small priceto pay to make sure the perpetrator money.

(15:58):
The homeless issue handle right, Yes, that's my answer. Will do
it, Yeah, that'll do it. Don't take a deep breath. Nearly
forty percent of US are living inplaces with unhealthy levels of polluted air,
according to a new report from theAmerican lun Association. It's their State of
the Air. Report says that thenumber of people living with air pollution levels

(16:21):
that can significantly affect their health isup from one hundred nineteen million dollar last
year to one hundred and thirty onemillion this year. And they're saying extreme
heat, drought, and wildfires arethree of the big factors that are contributing
to the rise in deadly air pollution. Yeah, you don't know from air
pollution. Let me tell you aboutair pollution. When I was a kid

(16:41):
going to grammar school here in LosAngeles, in addition to walking four miles
in the snow uphill both ways, the air pollution was well. Let me
explain what actually did happen. Therewere days close to the summer before a
school let out that are so pollutedthat they wouldn't let the kids out of

(17:03):
the class for recess outside. Outsideit looked like a fog. Literally,
it looked fogged in There was somuch air pollution and when you breathe,
kids would get stuck in it.Yeah, if well close and if you
took a deep breath and actually hurtit hurt to breathe, that was air
pollution. And of course we're farfar away from that. Yeah, you

(17:27):
look at old photos it San FernandoValley and the like, and you could
see it. But you know what, those with COPD, those pasthma,
now they are affected by this prettyintensely. So all right, it is
it okay for people to skip securitylines at an airport if you've got a

(17:48):
little extra money, Well, twolawmakers say no. They're proposing a bill
to change the way third party securityscreening companies like clear which I've used in
the past, how they work. And they say it's all because people with
money shouldn't be able to skip lines. Yeah they should. People with money
should and people who have a problemwith that, who don't have money,

(18:11):
The answer is, get some money. Oh boy, it does. It's
not just money, though, youget No, No, it's not money,
because it's really minor, I thinkto apply. It's going through these
it's like a TSA preferred you know, you got a preferred customer list or
whatever the hell they call it,and you just have to take the time

(18:33):
to do it and you bypass. You don't have to take your shoes off,
which, by the way, Idon't understand the shoes business. The
rest of the world doesn't understand it. One guy, one guy getting on
an airplane where there were explosives inthe shoe and he had matches all the
way around the bottom of his shoethat he was trying to light and it

(18:53):
didn't work. It looked like awiley coyote trying to light a match.
And because of that, you haveto take your shoes off. Wasn't there
a guy who had bomb materials inhis underwear? Yeah, and that's the
other thing. You can't wear gollaranymore. Yeah, you have to not
be able to wear underwear. Ifyou're going to do that, let's go

(19:14):
full blast on that. Wow,let's go balls to the wall on that.
Good night, don't shoot. TheLa County Board of Supervisors has unanimously
voted their opposition to the plan toget rid of the mule deer population on

(19:34):
Catalina Island. Remember they had talkedabout they're going to use helicopter mounted sharpshooters
to eradicate the population. They saythat the mule deer have become invasive on
the island, and they have, they were brought in, they've taken over
the island and there, as yousaid, invasive. You have to get

(19:55):
rid of them somehow. You know, you can't shoot them, which incidentally
takes just a nothing up the helicopterand shoot them down. No, they
want to either sterilize them or relocatethem. Oh, that's not gonna cost
very much money at all, wouldit. Why don't we ever put a
mortain lion on there? Uh,I'm sorry, why don't we just put
a mountain lion on? Yeah,we could do that, as if they're

(20:18):
easily catch Yeah. You ever seethat Far side cartoon and it's a hunter
you looking at the sites and they'retoo deer that you can see in the
cross in one of them or inthe h the target in the middle of
the target, and one of thedeer is pointing to the other one.

(20:38):
You know what they should do.They should just take knives to their little
hoofs and then people can shoot themand say that it was self defense.
You guys all suck. No,you have to do and it's you know,
it's wow, can't you can't dothat? They're invasive? They're wiping
out habitat. M Yeah, it'shabitat for human No, it's habitat for

(21:00):
the other it's habitat for the vegetation. It's habitat for the other animal species.
The problem is they don't have apredator, right, Lets do it
humanly, okay, yeah, byshooting them. It's that shot and lays
are suffering. Oh, then youshoot them again. No, it says
they're sharpshooters. An they're not goingto write they are, although from a

(21:22):
helicopter it may not be so easy. Back we go helicopter gunships with machine
guns. Just that gets them.Of course, the people who live on
the island, well yeah that mightbe okay, a small price to pay,
but to get rid of the mulesall right. State legislators in Tennessee

(21:45):
passed bill yesterday allowing teachers at speakingof and school staff in the state to
be armed. They just can't shootdeer. Oh that's funny. No,
that's not on here. That's verystrong. So I hope that there's you
know, training, and they, yeah, well there is, there's a
men's training. The requirements if youlook at it, and that makes so

(22:07):
much sense, because what do youdo with a what do you do with
an armed bad guy coming in activeshooter situation? The cops get there in
three minutes and that and a guycan take out a lot of kids.
Oh, what really happened? I'veshared the story with Steve Gregory. Took
me to the sheriff's department and wedid active shooter training. And there was

(22:30):
this big screen, one hundred andeighty degree screen in front of you,
and there you are showing up inan active shooter situation in mine. They
put me into a kindergarten class withan active shooter and where do you do
which? How do you aim? When do you shoot? By the way,
and I'm not exaggerating, as Iwas trying to go after the shooter.

(22:52):
I took out the entire kindergarten class, but I got the shooter.
Wow, Anakin Skywalker, Ladies andgentlemen, nice job. I think we
can do one more. Why tobuy pasteurized? Because the FDA came out
yesterday and said it had found viralparticles of H five N one avian influenza

(23:15):
bird flu in milk purchased at grocerystores. But the agency says it still
believes the milk is safe to drink. This was all part of an update
about the outbreak of bird flu incattle. The FDA says it believes the
viral particles were detected by highly sensitivelab tests and likely are remnants of viruses

(23:36):
killed during the pasteurization. Yeah, little bits and pieces and what else can
they be able to find in pasturization. I'll bet you if they look carefully,
they'd find all kinds of stuff, bug legs. Yeah, yeah,
I'm sure they what little bits ofpieces of evidence that the stuff was in
there? Yeah, now this isof everything. Yeah, I think the

(23:57):
only big big deal on this oneis the av and flu having gone to
one cow. Former New York RepresentativeGeorge Santos, who was expelled from the
House and is facing federal charges bythe way, announced just yesterday that he's
going to withdraw his bid for Congressin New York's first district. He was

(24:19):
previously representing New York's third district.Yeah, just their district in Long Island.
Yeah. He says that that hedoesn't want to split the vote,
right, See that's the reason. That's the reason, So the Republican splitting
his pants. Yeah, it hasno the the outcome of which he has
about a one and thousand chants tocome even close to winning, is about

(24:42):
it. No, it's I havea bigger chance of becoming Rex the Wonder
Horse in the next ten minutes thanfresh reference. Yes, thank you?
Yes. What what do you calla guy like that? Like he's it's
totally unaware. Is that's some sortof George? No, but I mean
it's that's sort of psychosist that hethinks that delusional, you know, totally

(25:03):
you know, I get yeah, delusional, psychotic, completely out of the
reality. That is not part ofhis life. Gosh, it's like my
Mom the Car, am I right? Yeah? Except my Mother the Car,
one of the better television shows, actually has much more credibility. Just
southern for a horribly horribly stale reference. That's all that's right, Okay.

(25:30):
No competes are no longer legal. The Federal Trade Commission has approved a rule
to ban agreements commonly signed by workersnot to join their employers' rivals or launch
competing businesses. It's not going totake effect until August, but it was
it was passed the Democrats the Commission, and worker advocates who support the rules

(25:51):
say it's needed to reign in theincreasingly common practice of requiring workers to sign
non competes, even in lower payingservice industries fast food and retail. Yeah,
and by the way, California isalready there. This is just FEDS
following California. If you work forsomeone and you quit and you go someplace
else and you have a non competetotally unenforceable unless you share proprietary secrets,

(26:17):
then that's a different story. Butthey can't stop you from actually going to
work. The only way a noncompete actually is enforceable is when you are
selling a business and part of thesale is a non compete for a period
of time, and you are gettingmoney for it. And that happens all
the time. You know, you'dhave to stay out of the business for

(26:37):
two or three years. When Karenand I sold the surrogacy center after thirty
years, she had to sign anon compete and couldn't be in the business
for two years. They didn't evenbother with me because they know any organization
I joined. Actually, they toldme to go out and compete because they
know I would screw up any organizationthat was competing. Wow, by the

(27:02):
way they did Actually, they didn'task me to sign a noncompete. They
had her sign a noncompete. Sothere's a fair amount of truth to that.
She's a smart one. Yes,he is in the money and employment
category again. Millions of salaried workerswill soon qualify for overtime pay under this
new final rule released by the USDepartment of Labor. So they just changed

(27:27):
the rates basically the annual salary fromforty three and change thousand per year and
win and then yeah a week orforty four, all right, forty three
thousand per year, eight forty fourper week, and then it will go
up to fifty eight and change inJanuary of twenty twenty five. Yeah,

(27:48):
it just means more workers qualify forovertime. So if you want some good
beach time, we've got some goodspots for you to go here. Four
beaches in calif Floor have been recognizedas some of the best in the US.
The twenty five Best Beaches in theUSA list is published in Travel and

(28:10):
Leisure magazine. So their Coronado Beachin San Diego, Pope Beach in Lake
Tahoe, Carmel Beach in Carmel bythe Sea, and Santa Monica Beach right
here in La County Travel and Leisuresays, along with those beachy type activities,
nothing screams summer on the pier likefunnel cake and a ferris wheel.
Yeah, nothing screams sounded like whenthey're fine, Like when there is a

(28:30):
massive storm in the hyperion plant sewageplant overflows. Then Santa Monica Pier becomes
Sana Monica Beach becomes e Coli Beachand everybody jumps in the water, step
over the random bodies of the unhousedas you walk towards the brown waves of
the Santa Monica Ocean. All right, the best alibi in the world.

(28:55):
Belgian man was acquitted of drunk drivingjust this week. Why because the suffers
from auto brewery syndrome. It's arare condition where the body produces alcohol and
it's a real thing. Strangely enough, this guy, by the way,
actually works at a brewery, sohe's got like the best situation. Oh,

(29:17):
I'm not drunk from working in abrewery. My body, my temple
is fermenting. Yeah, and theysell alcohol in his temple. Yeah it's
but apparently if you have this veryrare disease, you don't react to alcohol
the same way as other people. You have more tolerance or something. Oh

(29:38):
yeah, because it's in your bodyall the time. I am not a
