They did become eligible for parole after a judge reduced
their sentence back in May from life in prison without
the possibility of parole to fifty years to life, making
them immediately eligible under California lolls because they were under
the ages of twenty six when they committed their crimes.
Pennel of Parole Hearing officers will evaluate the brothers.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Of individually, with eric hearing.

Taking place later today and lyles being held tomorrow, So
it looks like there's a possibility that the Menindez brothers
could be getting paroles soon. Also, according to wallet Hubb,
there's a new list out the city Americans want to
live in most number one. Nashville, Tennessee and Tampa, Florida

both tied for number one. You know what, Americans, Tennessee's closed.

So apparently the internet had a meltdown yesterday over a
restaurant saw Cracker Barrel was trinning and I was like,
what is happening right now?

Speaker 1 (02:33):
What did Cracker Barrel do?

Speaker 2 (02:35):
It's one O five nine in the Rod, Nashville's classic rock.
It's Battle in the Morning. Well, what they did was
they change their logo and they have a rebrand, and
they're changing the logo for the first time in nearly
five decades now. The previous logo, of course, featured an
old man next to a barrel, got replaced with a
more simple time it just says Cracker Barrel. Of course,
loyal customers feel that the new logo lacks character and

(02:58):
charm of its pre assessor. I was scrolling through some
of the comments on Instagram when they debuted you've been
the best part of our table for fifty five years.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Let's do some more.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
People were like, no, please bring back the old logo,
and then one person says, I have no idea why
companies feel the need to change their logo when the
one they have for decades works so well. At least
leave the barrel in the logo. One person like, huge mistake, Like, look,
a logo is a logo, right. You didn't go to
Cracker Brow because you're like, oh, I'm gonna go to

(03:30):
Cracker Brow because there's a dude sitting next to a barrel. No,
you went to cracker Barrel because you went to cracker barrel.
Changing the logo. I don't think it's gonna make a
big difference of preventing me from going to cracker Barrel,
which I might go to cracker Barrel for lunch today.

Speaker 1 (03:42):

Speaker 1 (06:24):
It's Battle in the Morning.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
So yesterday apparently was National Radio Day, and it really
got me thinking, especially last night as I was sitting
there and I saw like all my radio friends and
former people that I used to work with posting about
you know, how radio meant to them, right and what
it means and all this other stuff. It basically a
glorified day for US radio people to brag about things, right.

(06:48):
But I got to thinking about it last night and
this morning as I was driving in. You know, when
I was a kid, all I ever wanted to do
was be on the radio, like you know when you
were a kid, And they'd ask, hey, what do you
want to be when you grew up? Kids, and'd be like,
I want to be a cop, I want to be
a fireman. I always said that I wanted to be
a DJ. And you know, I would sit in the
car with my dad and we would listen to one

(07:10):
O five nine in the Rock and I would be like, Yeah,
I'm gonna be on.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
That station one day.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
And uh fast forward to many many, many, many many
years later, and.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
Uh, here we are dream come true.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Right. It's kind of wild when you think back to
what little you wanted to be when you grew up. Right.
Some kids wanted to be astronauts, some wanted to be
rock stars, doctors, nurses, And I just wanted to be
right here on the radio playing music and hanging out
with you every day. And I'm very excited to get

(07:41):
to do this as as a job. So I want
to throw this out to you this morning. When you
were a kid, what did you want to be when
you grew up?

Speaker 1 (07:51):
And are you doing that job now?

Speaker 2 (07:53):

Speaker 2 (09:15):
Were talking about what you wanted to be when you
grew up, since yesterday was National Radio Day, I told
you how Little Battle wanted nothing more than to be
on one oh five nine the Rock, And here I
am getting to live out my dream and I wanted
to hear from you. What did you want to be
when you grew up? John hanging out on hold?

Speaker 1 (09:32):
What was that that you wanted to do? Man?

Speaker 6 (09:34):
Hey man, you know, gess about wanting to be what
we wanted to be when we kids.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
I wanted to be in the navy.

Speaker 6 (09:40):
But twenty years in it.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
Oh well, first let me say thank you for your
service and doing that and defending this country.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
If you don't mind me asking what was it that
you did in the navy.

Speaker 6 (09:50):
If you remember the movie Fansy, you Rejima, they called
up doc uh huh take care of the wounded sergeant.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
That's my job.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
I'm not gonna lie that as a way cooler job
than what I do. I mean, you get to save
lives and defend our nation's freedom.

Speaker 6 (10:08):
That was great, you know, so I took a set
of panels, came all the way up here, and somebody
say it was a four and I was state in Tennessee.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
And we're glad to have you here in Tennessee, my friend.

Speaker 6 (10:18):
Man, this is the best state to live. And I've
been all over the country, and I don't care when
anybody says about Tennessee being forty nine or forty seventh
worst state in the country.

Speaker 1 (10:28):
That's wrong, exactly. I whole hardly agree with you. And
we're glad that you're here.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
And I can't say it enough, but again, thank you
for your service.

Speaker 5 (10:37):
Hey, no problem, man, it was great.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
Awesome man, I appreciate you called in this morning.

Speaker 6 (10:40):
All right, man, thank you.

Speaker 5 (10:49):

Speaker 1 (10:49):
How are you sir? I'm just driving down the road.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
How you doing, man, I'm just sitting here in a
room all by myself.

Speaker 5 (10:57):
I hear you, man, I've always wanted it.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
I was younger.

Speaker 5 (11:00):
I always wanted to be a truck driver.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
Now let me ask you this. I mean you said
you wanted to be a truck driver when you're a kid.
Is that what you're doing now? Are you getting to
live out your childhood dreams?

Speaker 5 (11:10):
That's what I'm doing now, I'm driving a truck.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
I will say.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
It has to be a good feeling knowing that you
are getting to live out your childhood dream When you
were a kid, You're like, I'm gonna do this, and
you're getting to do it. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (11:22):
The funny part about it is my dad was a
truck driver, you know, when I was younger, and I'd
go with him every summer so i'd stay out of trouble,
you know. And when I go back to school, I
pretend I was When I was walking down the hallway,
I would pretend that I was driving the truck and
I was shifting gear.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
Something. Some of the kids are like, what is he
doing over there?

Speaker 5 (11:44):
Yeah, yeah, hey, mind your business.
