One of the strangest murder sprees in American history occurred across Louisiana and Texas in the early 1910s. Local newspapers called the first crime "the most brutal murder in the history of this section," and there would be many more -- all linked to the same killer. The newspapers of the era, dealing with murder victims that were all African-Americans, claimed the killings were connected to a deranged Voodoo woman and a cult called the "Church of Sacrifice," which used the victims for bloody rituals. The story wasn't true – the real story may have been even stranger – and they remain unsolved.
