Speaker 1 (00:02):
Major League Baseball fans, get ready for a close-up
look from the top step of thedugout.
Welcome to the BaseballClassics Podcast.
Covering any season from 1901to the present, We'll explore
exciting pennant races, diveheadfirst, analyzing and even
doing some comparisons that arebound to settle an argument or

(00:24):
start one up.
And now here's your host, DeanPitino.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Hello again everybody .
Thanks so much for tuning in tothis Baseball Classics
Diamondcast.
Always great to be with you and, as you know, we cover any
topic on this Diamondcast from1901 to present, regarding Major
League Baseball.
But today this is going to beabout you.
We're going to flip the scriptand it's going to be about you
as a Major League Baseball fanand how you can have a much

(00:55):
better experience of staying onthe pulse of what's happening
inside Major League Baseballevery day, any time that you
want it inside Major LeagueBaseball, every day, any time
that you want it.
So, of course, today, intoday's world with the internet,
there's all kinds of sites outthere and places you can get
information on what's happeningin Major League Baseball.
The challenge is that youcannot find it all in one place,

(01:20):
and I guarantee you cannot, because we have looked for a
long time and we cannot find itin one place.
It's scattered all over theinternet, us that's happening in

(01:44):
Major League Baseball, onewebsite and that's what we call
Baseball Classics Real-TimeDiamond View, and we decided to
make it a free service.
So it's a free, all-in-oneservice, and I'll tell you what
we mean by all-in-one Everysingle day.
So updates, fresh content everysingle day, and I can tell you
that is not happening.
Even on some of the big-namewebsites, some of their websites
.
I see the same stuff everysingle day, not fresh stuff

(02:07):
every single day, and, as aMajor League Baseball fan myself
, I would want to know what thelatest is and see fresh content
every day.
That's what Baseball ClassicsReal Time Diamond View is all
about and why it's calledRealtime.
So, as a Major League Baseballfan, we thought this would be

(02:28):
very valuable for you.
Now here's just to step back fora moment and give you a little
perspective of how we're doingthis, why we're doing this that
Baseball Classics is a boardgame that I founded and started
selling in 1987.
Game that I founded and startedselling in 1987.

(02:49):
And to date we have probablyagain we create Major League
Baseball, a Major LeagueBaseball board game that has any
teams and seasons from 1901 topresent.
That's been our thing from thevery beginning and it's nearly
impossible today to find that ina baseball board game.
You could probably find it,maybe somewhere, but we've been
known to do this longer thananybody Any teams, any seasons,
1901 to present.
So, anyway, the reason I'mbringing that up is we've, of

(03:12):
course, in order to be able toprovide that for our customers,
major League Baseball board gamefans, we've had to collect all
the data from 1901 to presentall the stats, all the players,
all the teams.
So we have all that and we callthat diamond data.
So we have offered diamond datato our DiamondLink members from

(03:34):
1901 to present.
They could sort it, filter it,so on and so forth.
We took the 2024 season versionof diamond data and now we've
offered that free for MajorLeague Baseball fans, so you can
sort it, filter it as well, andgroup it and search through it
and all that good stuff.
The thing is now is that we'veincluded the lefty-righty stats

(03:58):
in their all-in-one database.
Again, you can't find thisanywhere for free.
We're the only ones to do this.
We're the first ones to do thisLefty righty player stats and
the overall stats, includingsome team stats in there as well
, free In this free service wecall Baseball Classics Real-Time
Diamond View.
So we're collecting all of thestats and again, there's dozens

(04:21):
of stats and we're using allthese stats, of course, to
generate what we call our nextgeneration real-time baseball
game cards.
That is called Legends of theDiamond, so that's called
Legends on the Diamond, butthat's a whole other episode for
another day at some point aboutthe baseball board game called

(04:42):
Legends on the Diamond.
The main point is that I wantto make is that we're collecting
all of this stuff.
We also have been writingBaseball Classics Magazine for
quite some time, so we'reresearching just about every day
topics ranging from 1901 topresent.
That's what Baseball ClassicsMagazine has, just like the
board game has 1901 to present.
So Baseball Classics Magazinehas been free as well.

(05:05):
Another service that we offer.
It's a free magazine.
So also we have, of course nowwe've rejuvenated Baseball
Classics, this podcast we callDiamondcast, so that covers any
topic from 1901 to present.
And so we have let's kind ofrecap real quick the board game

(05:26):
covering.
You know we offer every team tobe able to play again based on
the major league stats, totallyrealistic.
We've again are the onlycompany to simulate the last six
world series before they wereplayed and nailed it every
single year who the worldchampion is going to be.
So we have Baseball ClassicsLegends on the Diamond game, any

(05:48):
teams or seasons from 1901 topresent for our customers to buy
.
So we have the board game, wehave the Diamond data, now 1901
to present Again, our DiamondLink members Baseball Classics
Diamond Link they get access toall that data they can sort and
filter through.
So that's the 1901 to Present.
We have Baseball ClassicsMagazine, which is free Again,

(06:09):
1901 to Present.
Then we have our blog calledDiamond Buzz.
That's our blog.
That's just coveringpresent-day topics only.
So you can imagine, at BaseballClassics, as a baseball company,
we are generating a tremendousvolume of content every single

(06:31):
day.
When you include now thisreal-time Diamond View service
that we offer to give you allthe latest and greatest in one
website every single day, Iguarantee because we've been
looking for it you won't findthis anywhere else to have all
of this information curated foryou simply in one website.

(06:53):
So I want to walk you throughwhat you get Again.
The key here is that it's freeand there's no login, so it's
simple to get to.
I mean, if you get to mlbcom, you can get to this, and when
you see the information that wehave in here, compare it to
MLBcom, compare it to the otherones out there and you'll see we

(07:14):
have more than anybody else, but it's very simple to consume.
We knew that was going to be akey here, to make it simple for
you to be able to navigatethrough, find what you're
looking for and then move onwith your day.
But this keeps you on the pulsewithout taking up a lot of your
time.
So, within Baseball ClassicsReal-Time Diamond View, which

(07:35):
you can get to anytime again, nologin baseballclassicscom slash
diamond view, you get rumors, news, trades, free agency, uh
tracking, transactions and somuch more, which I'm going to
walk you through in just amoment.
But anyway, it's all there foryou.
Plus, we update things.
We have scrolling headlinesthat go uh on the uh.

(07:57):
Within diamond real-timediamond view as well.
And then during the baseballseason, we also are scrolling
the scores, the schedules forthe teams.
Again, we have the standingsand all that good stuff as well
during the regular season.
But let's walk you throughwhat's in there today and I
think you'll be very surprisedat all of the activity that's

(08:19):
taking place every single day.
So just because you're onlyhearing about a free agent
signing like a big Blake Snellsigning once in a while, there's
things going on every singleday in Major League Baseball.
Thanksgiving Day it's going tohappen on Christmas Day there's
something.
Now, granted, those holidaysnot as much as other days, but

(08:41):
every single day there'ssomething going on, so that's
why we wanted to provide theservice for you and update it
with fresh content every singleday.
I'll tell you the problem withall these other websites is that
you're getting some freshcontent.
Sometimes you're not gettingany fresh content, we know.
We are looking at them, but inbaseballclassicscom slash
diamondview, we are guaranteeingyou're getting fresh content

(09:03):
and you can't get this anywhereelse.
Now I'm not suggesting that youdon't go to any of the other
websites and only go toDiamondview, but I do guarantee
that you won't find all of thisin one place except for
baseballclassescom slashdiamondview.
So when you go over to thatwebsite, you'll see the

(09:24):
navigation buttons at the toppart of the screen Very simple,
simply laid out and, again, itlooks great on a mobile device
or your desktop laptop tablet, all that.
So at the very top we have ascrolling update of the
headlines that are taking place.
So we'll get to that.
We'll come back to that in justa bit.
Then we have the navigationbuttons there.

(09:45):
It's the menu, if you will.
So we have rumors, news, trades, free agent tracking,
transactions, videos for you towatch, diamondcast, of course.
This podcast, if you will, isthere called Diamondcast,
diamond Buzz.
You can access that, get to allthe articles and we release a

(10:12):
new article there about everysecond or third day or so.
Sometimes it's every day.
Then we have the Diamond datathere for you the 2024 season.
So we'll talk about that.
We give you a flashback ofwhat's happened in Major League
Baseball on this day, we giveyou a quote of the day and now
you can see all the awards aswell that have happened for 2024
, and still some more comingwhen it comes to the Hall of

(10:32):
Fame.
So again, everything is righthere in one place.
So let's walk through it.
So when you come over tobaseballclassicscom slash
Diamond View, you're greeted bywhat daily?
What we call the daily diamond.
Think of it like a newspaperback in the old day, where you
get the newspaper delivered toyou.
Now, this is something you haveto go to.
We aren't sending out an emailabout it.

(10:54):
We could at some point We'llsee Depends on the demand.
But again, it's very simple.
You can go tobaseballclassicscom slash
diamondview, bookmark it, go toit whenever you want.
You get the latest and greatest.
So you're greeted by the dailydiamond at the very top.
Um, again with the navigation, with the very top again you're
going to get the scrolling news, sports headlines, updates from

(11:15):
major league baseball, and thenyou get the navigation.
Then there's a if you're new,you know, click here on a button
and you can see again.
We walk you through what'sinside of Baseball Classics,
real-time Diamond View.
But again you'll see the DailyDiamond front and center.
You'll also see the date, soyou'll always know it's updated
when you see the date for thatday and we work hard to make

(11:36):
sure we update this everymorning early in the morning for
Major League Baseball fans.
Now the first section that wehave if you will in this, you
know, we'll kind of refer to ithere kind of as a newspaper the
first section we know is thesection that really everybody
wants to know about right away.
What are the rumors that aregoing on.
We call it the Major LeagueBaseball, the Diamond Whisperer.

(11:57):
So you see the theme here.
We have again the Daily Diamond, we have Diamond View, we have
Diamond Buzz, diamond Data,diamond Castle.
It's called the DiamondWhisperer, where all the rumors
are presented and you'll seerumors every single day, fresh
rumors about something thatsomebody's talking about or
reporting in Major LeagueBaseball.

(12:18):
So that's the first thingyou're greeted with every single
day.
Now, just coming off ofThanksgiving, there's four
rumors that we have that arefresh from that day.
I mean that's Thanksgiving Day,so you can imagine other days
that are just regular old days.
There's always a lot to talkabout.

(12:38):
Sometimes in the DiamondWhisperer we'll have a dozen
different updates for you there, but it's guaranteed to always
be fresh, so you're never goingto see these same things over
and over and over again.
It's going to be updated, it'sgoing to be fresh, it's going to
be new.
So we have the rumors again.
We call the Diamond Whisperer.
Underneath that, we have ourfree agent tracker for you and

(13:00):
we know during the offseason.
This is really important andwhat we decided to do here is
that we have a list of over 130Major League Baseball free
agents so you can see thecurrent signed players' total
contract value and how far outthese deals go, and we put them
into a spreadsheet for you andyou can download the spreadsheet

(13:23):
and you can, of course, sort itand filter through it.
Very simple to use.
But we thought it'd be veryimportant to put this into a
spreadsheet version for you soyou'll get the player their age,
you get what the contract valuewas, of course, the term of the
contract and which team theysigned for.

(13:44):
Also, right up front in the MLBfree agent tracker that we put
right into real-time DiamondView, you'll see it right there.
You don't have to click onanything, you just see it.
We are adding up again theplayer's total contract value
and again how many years and whohas signed the largest total
contract values so far to date.

(14:05):
So, as I record this right now,on Friday November 29th, blake
Snell has signed the biggestdeal for $182 million five years
.
So you see that right here onthe website and then again you
can go ahead and download thatspreadsheet.

(14:25):
Any trades that's the nextsection.
So Major League Baseball tradeactivity.
So trades are reported there.
We put those in Right.
After that is any hot stovenews and of course during the
regular season there'll be anyregular season news that's
happening.
So we have the hot stove newsfor you.
After that are MLB transactions, so you can see the latest

(14:47):
transactions that have takenplace.
I remember as a kid when I'dget the sports section, of
course, looking at the boxscores, but I always looked at
the transactions what kind oftransactions are taking place,
what teams are doing what?
So we have the fulltransactions section for you.
Then after that are the 2024Major League Baseball Awards, so
you'll see who won the goldglove, who was the Major League

(15:10):
Baseball Executive of the Year, the Platinum Glove Awards, the
Silver Slugger Awards, theComeback Player of the Year
Awards, the All-MLB teams, thefirst team, the second team, who
won the Hank Aaron Awards, theRivera-Hoffman Reliever of the
Year Awards, rookie of HoffmanReliever of the Year Awards,
rookie of the Year Awards, manager of the Year Awards, cy
Young Award winners, mostValuable Player Awards.

(15:32):
So all those are there.
And then we also have the Hallof Fame Classic Baseball Era
Ballot there as well.
It's taking place on December8th, so there's a write-up about
each player, just a shortwrite-up, but you get to know
again who these players are thatare on this ballot.
The other thing we did, too,for the first time, is that we
projected who would win Rookieof the Year, cy Young and Most

(15:56):
Valuable Player, based on thediamond data that you get access
to as well.
We got five or six of themcorrect.
The one that we just missedbarely was the American League
Cy Young award, which went toTarek Skubal.
We had the Guardians relievergetting that award, but just
barely edging out Skubal.

(16:17):
So, anyway, we thought it wouldbe kind of fun to use our
diamond data because we havescoring in there as well.
We score each player and thatscoring system again has been
very effective.
Used it to write a book earlierthis year called Baseball
Classics All-Time All-Stars.
You know the single season,all-time all-star.
So we published that book usingall of this data.

(16:40):
Okay, then we also have for you.
We thought it'd be fun to putin a Major League Baseball quote
of the day and then also MLBflashback on this day that
happened.
So you know, back on this date, that date, so on and so forth.
Right after that we post rightnow it's six different videos
every single day.
Always new videos every singleday, not the same videos over

(17:02):
and over and again.
These are topical typically, and you know we may put some
historical videos in here foryou to view as well that we
think will be of interest Duringthe regular season.
It's typically going to behighlights of the most important
games that are played that day.
So we'll have those in therefor you and we may add more.

(17:25):
Right now we have six in there.
We may add more, we'll kind ofsee.
Then you have the BaseballClassics Diamond Cast there.
So of course you could listento it right within diamond view.
After that is the diamond datasection.
There's a demo of how to use it.
All the data is right therethat you can scroll through.
You'll see everything there.
There's a lot of color codingin it.
Again, it's great.
It's got all the overall leftyrighty, all those stats for

(17:46):
batters and then for pitchersall in one database for you to
be able to sort through.
And and again the demo showsyou how to do it.
But it's really verystraightforward, very simple.
And again, if you find anythinglike this where you have the
overall lefty-righty data thatyou could sort through, you have
to pay for it.
I haven't seen anywhere wherethis is free.

(18:08):
And again we score it on top.
We have our diamond datascoring, we have our five player
scoring and again a bunch of.
Again there's dozens ofstatistical categories we have
in here for you to be able tosearch through based on what
happened in 2024.
So I'll tell you if you're afantasy baseball person, this
alone would be worth coming overto diamond view and checking it

(18:28):
out.
Again, it's free.
Get right into it and thenafter that we again our overview
demo of what's inside ofDiamond View.
So that's everything inside ofBaseball Classics, real-time
Diamond View atbaseballclassicscom slash
diamondview.
But I guarantee like, forexample, in the Whisperer, what
we show there you're not goingto find that all in one site and

(18:54):
also the hot stove news that wehave in that section.
Get a free agent tracker withall that you can download, get
all the transactions, all thoseawards, to get all of this, the
flashback, all this, the videos, all this in one website.
It does not exist today and, again, it's so simple to
navigate through.
So do yourself a favor, go overto baseballclassicscom slash

(19:19):
diamondview and do a favor foryour friends and family members
who you know are Major LeagueBaseball fans.
Again, you could be a littleleaguer, you could be an expert
adult on Major League Baseballthat you've been following for
decades.
It's for everybody.
So remember.
Also there's Diamond Buzz youget access to as well, with all
the articles that we createagain present day.

(19:40):
So let's recap here you get allthe Major League Baseball
rumors that are happening, allthe news that's happening, the
trades, the free agent signings, the transactions, videos to
watch Diamond Cast, to listen todiamond buzz, all those present
day articles that we publish, the 2024 season of diamond data.

(20:01):
You get the flashback, you getthe quote of the day, you get
all the awards everything isright there.
Of course, you get thescrolling updates as well.
So, as things are happeningthroughout the day, you get that
During the regular seasonscores, standings, all that
stuff as well.
So everything all easy tonavigate and get with no login.

(20:23):
Baseballclassicscom slashdiamondviews Free service.
Again, we're doing this for you.
We thought this would be ofgreat benefit for all the Major
League Baseball fans.
So why are we doing this?
Well, again, we have toresearch all these topics about
Major League Baseball from 1901to present, and so, you know,

(20:45):
for Baseball Classics Magazine, for the Diamond Buzz, for this
Diamond Cast, we have to do thatand we thought, as a way to say
thank you to all the MajorLeague Baseball fans that have
supported our company throughoutthe decades, this would be a
very nice way to do it by givingyou the latest and greatest.
One more thing is that Real-TimeDiamond View.

(21:05):
We embedded it via QR code ontoevery Baseball Classics Legends
of the Diamond player card.
So when our customers buyBaseball Classics Legends of the
Diamond player card.
So when our customers buyBaseball Classics Legends on the
Diamond, they can just, on anyplayer card, scan it and it'll
take them, of course, right toBaseballClassicscom slash
DiamondView and they can see thelatest and greatest.

(21:26):
So, again, we've put so manyways to be able to get to this
and get all the latestinformation about Major League
Baseball and condense it, put itinto a really nice format for
you.
We really consider it reallythe cliff notes of what's
happening that day in MajorLeague Baseball.
So take advantage of it.
We are happy to serve this foryou.
And that's a wrap on thisBaseball Classics Diamondcast.

(21:50):
So, again, thanks so much fortuning in.
Next time I'm back, well, we'llhave another episode for you
about Major League BaseballClassics Diamondcast.
So again, thanks so much fortuning in.
Next time I'm back, well, we'llhave another episode for you
about Major League Baseball.
So stay tuned.
Until then, I hope you'rehaving a day that gives you the
best of everything that you'relooking for inside of it, and
we'll see you next time in theBaseball Classics Diamondcast.
So long, everybody.
