American small businesses are facing an unprecedented economic disruption due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. Cities and states have implemented mandatory closures of public spaces to ensure social distancing to prevent the spread of the virus. The fallout of this pandemic has increased our already stress-filled lives. BUT, there is good news! Congress has reached a bipartisan compromise on a $2 trillion economic stimulus package to address the economic impact caused by the COVID-19 outbreak titled the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. Division A of the bill provides more than $377 billion in support to small businesses. Paul Taylor, Director of Baltimore Mayor's Office of Small and Women-Owned Businesses will discuss the small business provisions in the CARES Act as well as take questions to assist you in navigating the process to seek assistance and relief for your business and employees.
