Speaker 1 (00:09):
Welcome to calvs HQ presented by that Way. Thank you
for joining us on the Cavaliers Audio Verse. Now here
your host Tim Alcorn and Jim Chelles prob the Cavaliers
production studios, That Rocket, Mortgage, Field House, Hi and everybody,
and welcome to Cavs HQ presented by vet Wave. Great

(00:31):
to have you with us and Jim. We're gonna have
to terrific guests this week. Guys that know Calves Basketball
inside and out. Joe G. Joe Gabriel from Calves dot
Com is going to pay us a visit, as is
Brad Sellers from Cabs Audio Verse. He works with Mike
Snyder on road games. Yeah, and we don't want you
to miss it. Please don't miss it because the commentary

(00:53):
and the insight is really refreshing and right on point, boy,
no doubt about it. So we'll take a quick time out.
When we come back, Joe G will get things started.
We'll talk to Joe Gabriel after this on the Cavaliers
audio Verse, hopefully packing down. Clark said, hatty land up

(01:16):
just stopped it on George. That's what's just supposed to, biggin,
That's what's just supposed to do Garland into the four courts,
back to Alan Powell with two hands. Oh by et
to the four court e G. Behind him dotting in
wide open three. That's right, they're playing together. Oh my goodness,

(01:36):
just think how sweet will be by the last twenty
gave stim welcome back Cav's HQ, presented by Bet Way
on the Cavaliers audio verse. Great to have you with us.
As we continue on with Cav's HQ, Boy, it has
been fun so far this season. Why not Cavaliers coming
off there win over Utah last night, now aunty one

(02:00):
and eleven overall, one of only three teams in the
NBA with twenty or more wins and the NBA's best
home record at fifteen and two. It has been a
lot of fun so far. Not only four years Julie
Tim l Cornan my co host Jim Jones, but a
guy who certainly covers the Calves just as much, if

(02:22):
not more than Jim and I do. One Joe Gabriel
Joe G. As he's better known from CALVS dot Com.
Joe G. Once again, great to have you with us
on CALVS HQ. Guys. Great to be here man, And
as I said, how much fun are we having. I mean,
Jim and I get to sit in the Joe Ted
Purge night in a night out and call those games,

(02:42):
but you also get to watch them up close and personal.
What has really been the most enjoyable part of this
for you? Well, I mean they just have you know,
it's quote the old Keep Jackson quote. They have so
many weapons and that you don't know. I mean, they
can kill you in any number of different ways. And
last night you saw the bench do it. Last night

(03:05):
was one of my favorite games because the bench hasn't
kind of come alive yet. I think Ricky Ruby is
gonna change all that. I'll talk about that in a second,
but watching the bench come alive last night was really fun.
You already know the other guys are doing it, but
you know, uh what did JB called it last night?
A phenomenon of Jetty. When Jetty goes nuts, the rest

(03:26):
of the team in the arena goes nuts. And that's
kind of fun to watch. But it's all been fun.
It's all been fun. You know, Joe, G just want
to thank you for spending this time with us. But
you know, there's three parts to this team. It's the backcourt,
starting tandem, the twin towers, and of course the bench,
and we all, you know, we've been a little concerned
about the bench. But think about this. I'd like your

(03:49):
thoughts on with Rubio plant with Lavert and Osmond in
the backcourt coming off the bench. Yeah. Yeah. The analogy
I kind of used for Ricky coming ac is, say
you're driving in a car. You mean, you guys are
old guys like me, you've driven stick shift before, driven
a five speed? Yeah, You're You're in fourth gear and

(04:09):
you're moving pretty good. You know, you're cruising along and
they the car is going fast and everything like that.
When you hit that fifth gear and of a sudden,
you're going just as faster, faster, and you're not working
as hard. The car is not working as hard. When
Ricky comes back, I think this team is going to
hit a completely different gear, a fifth gear, and the
bench is gonna come alive. Kevin is gonna come alive.

(04:31):
He saw that last year. Ricky changes a lot of things,
and when he comes back, I think the team is
gonna hit a fifth gear. Ricky seems to be that
classic player that makes everybody around him better because he
knows where they want the ball, he finds them, and
all of a sudden they become better basketball players because

(04:51):
Ricky knows what makes them tick. Yeah, and I mean
and on top of on top of all that, he
has experience with Donovan, you know, and and he knows
you know, it wouldn't take him long to figure out
Donovan sweet spots to be had never played with him
and having experience with him. Now all of a sudden,
you're gonna see, you know, if it's possible for Diamond

(05:12):
they hit another gear, you know that's going to happen.
So I just think as good as they've been, they
can still get better, which is kind of crazy because
considering the record. You know, when you watch the guard
play and you see how courteous I like to call
Mitchell and and Garland are with each other. Now you

(05:33):
throw a Ricky Rubio in there when one of them
sits down, Now you know they can get more what
I call scoring threat touches because Rubio is such a
great distributor of the basketball. Just to quote you, Tim,
you know, it's such a great distributor of the ball.
But another thing, Joe g this would have to be

(05:54):
maybe the second smartest team I've ever seen in a
Cavalier uniform our championship team, this team and then the
team that with Doherty played on. But I think this
team is a lot smarter. Yeah, I think, And I
think that's one of the most underrated things about Donovan
Mitchell is what an intelligent ballplayer he is and the

(06:15):
fact that he can somehow get forty points and and
look like he's not dominating the ball or you know,
or hogging the ball. You know, he can he can
get and still get other guys involved. And uh, that's
that's a great point, Jim. There, they're a smart team.
And Darius is obviously, you know, very savvy and he's

(06:35):
intelligent ball players. So you're right, Jim, they're they're a
smart team in Jared's a smart individual just overall, and
Evan is a very instinctive, very intelligent ball player too,
so they do have that as well. Again, we're talking
with Joe Gabrielle, our guest on Cav's HQ, presented by
that Way you read and follow Joe g on calvs

(06:56):
dot com. His contents on Cavs dot com is simply terrific,
and Joe, I want to follow up your thoughts about
Jared Allen and Evan Mobley, as Jim referred to them earlier,
are are twin towers in that low block. Let's start
with Evan because, as j B says, uh, he always
seems to make the winning play, the correct play at

(07:18):
the exact right moment. Uh boy, It's been fun just
to watch him blossom from last year to this year
and how uh still he has unbelievable potential. But just
talk from what you've seen about the development of Evan Mobley. Well,
I think the only thing left for Evan, I mean,
experience obviously, is gonna get more experienced. He just plays
hundredth game as a pro. I think physicality is the

(07:42):
only thing that that he lacks, and he's plenty physical enough,
but I think once he just matures as a man,
once he puts on ten fifteen pounds of muscle, puts
on a couple of pounds in his lower body. Once
that comes, he's gonna be on stoppable because I think
right now he's realizing guys can't stop him. And you know,

(08:05):
now he's putting the ball on the floor a little more.
He's hitting at three pointer and he looks very natural
shooting it and hitting it. So you know, he keeps
saying the sky's the limit for Evan Evans, the golden
child of this franchise. In my opinion, I mean he is.
I keep saying it, and I think Jim has agreed.
He's a He's a Hall of Fame talent. He really is. He.

(08:27):
I don't know what's going to stop him. I hope nothing,
but he's got Hall of fame potential. Well, there's no
doubt we're gonna take a very quick time out and
when we come back, we'll continue our conversation with Joe
g Joe Gabriel from Calves dot com nice enough to
stop by and pay us a visit on this week's
edition of cavs HQ presented by Betway. We'll add more
with Joe after this. On the Cavalier's Audio Verse, this

(09:01):
is Carris LeVert. You're listening to cavs HQ on the
Cavaliers Audio Verse. Here's Tim Alcorn and Jim Chose. Well,
thank you very much, burn As we welcome you back. Indeed,
cabs HQ presented by Bett Way, and not only Jim
and I, but on the other side of the window
are Dynamic Duo Cavalier senior producer Kurt McLoughlin along with

(09:24):
technical director Marty Allen and great to have with us
from Calves dot com Joe Gabriel. Boy, if you're on
Calves dot com, Joe G with just incredible coverage and
content as far as this Cavalier basketball team is concerned. Jim,
I'll let you get things rolling with Joe G here
in segment too. Thank you too. I want to talk
a little bit about Garland because from time to time,

(09:46):
Joe G he reminds us how how good he is
and how good he will be once he acclimates himself
with playing with this new style of bass. But this
style of play is so definitively to me different than
the style that they've played in the last two years.
Talk a little bit about Garla, Yeah, I mean he's
just you talk about just a smart Davvy. You know,

(10:10):
he's got a natural feel for the game. You can
see a Jim. I mean, he's he just he feels
the game out, you know. I mean again, he can score,
he can you know, he can do just about anything.
And I think he's at his best when he's in
the eighteen to twenty two point range and the nine
to twelve assists range, you know what I mean. But

(10:32):
like you said, Jim, he's got to figure out this
new team, this new uh I guess system. When when
you add Donovan to the back court, I think you're
seeing a little less of the I don't know how
you'd say the aloop where you kind of drove into
the lane and kind of I think teams are starting
to sag on that a little bit and taking that
away a little bit. So I think to your point,

(10:53):
he's he's just adjusting right now. I think I think
he's in an adjustment period more than any other player
on the team as far as Donovan coming in. So
he's doing a great job, but I think he's more
than any other guy he's having to figure it out.
We started our first segment with Joe running a little
montage of highlights there and one of those was d

(11:15):
g And and Donovan playing off one another, and Jim,
you made the comment in that highlight, well just wait
until there's twenty games to go. As of tonight, that
we're sitting at fifty games to go. But Jim and
Joe g I want you guys to kind of follow
up on that how much better and where will they
get better. As far as the backcourt is concerned, well,

(11:37):
you know, again, you gotta kind of factor in Ricky
because that is a big part of it. And you
also got to think about those three and who's closing games.
So once you get to the games left in the season,
you've got to figure out how to close games because
that's what you're gonna be doing in the playoffs. So

(11:58):
I think you have to think of it. There's the
three of them, and I just think, you know, the
one thing that was kind of concerning was that Sacramento
game where nobody wanted to make a shot, nobody hit
a shot. They kind of we're looking for Donovan Mitchell.
So that that kind of concerns me a little bit.
But hey, in the playoffs, if you have Donovan Mitchell

(12:21):
on top of everything else, they'll figure it out. They'll
figure it out. Jim. Sometimes we are so tight with
our comments and certainly your color commentary, because we get
right to that next play. So follow up on what
you said last night as far as where they will
be another thirty forty games from now, go a little
deeper into that if you could. I think what's gonna happen.

(12:44):
Is we see glimpses of it quite a bit where
they hit streaks where they'll score six to eight to
twelve points and you'll look around and you said, boy,
that's an eight old run or ten old run. I
think there's going to be more of that, Joe, because
I think it's all predicated. It down their defense and
the way they're rotating, Joe. I thought last night and

(13:04):
the game before that, the way they were rotating with
every ball movement. I hadn't seen that from a Cavalier team,
not even in the championship year. They were rotating, getting
to the shooters, forcing the opposition to make another pass.
Now they might have made the shot, but how many
teams in our league are gonna make five six passes
before they take a shot. But I just think, Joe,

(13:26):
I just think it's all about their defense. It really is. Yeah,
when you see them, and you've seen it over the
over the weekend, and specifically last ed against Utah when
they turned their defense up. And I mean, it's such
a cliche anymore in basketball that defensive least offense, and
when you play good defense and charged you know, you've
heard that so many times, but it's the absolute truth.

(13:48):
The calves when they do it, when they start to run,
you know, one of those runs Jim talked about, the eighth,
the six, twelve or whatever it is. It always starts
on the defensive. Then when they turned their defense pressure up,
that's when their offense heats up. It's it's a cliche,
but it's true. And Donovan is an underrated defender. He's

(14:09):
a tough dude. He's a tough rebounder, a really tough rebounder.
He's kind of an he's an underrated defender. We kind
of said, don't worry about it because he scores so much.
But the more you see him up close, the more
you realize in a system that that is a tough defender. Joe,
we got a couple of minutes left and three more
games on this homestand with Milwaukee on Wednesday, Toronto Friday,

(14:33):
and then of course Brooklyn comes in here the day
after Christmas. When you look at those the Buck game
and and the and the Brooklyn game on Monday, uh,
do those become barometer games? Man? It's it's it's it's
kind of early in the season. Like we all know,
the season didn't start until Christmas. But it's almost here,
so I guess, uh, Monday is the first game of

(14:54):
the season, so but it is early. But but yeah, yeah,
I mean yeah, I think now it's time to see
where where are you? Where are you at this point?
You know the years is about to turn over? Where
are you at this point? It's it's not a full indicator.
But both those teams are playing well. They know we're
playing well. We're tough at home. We want to show it.

(15:16):
Snow Fluke. So they don't mean everything, but they mean
a little more than regular season games. I totally agree.
I mean, as you said, they always say, well, the
season really starts about Christmas, and boy, the the NBA
schedule makers gave Cavalier fans a real Christmas present with

(15:37):
Milwaukee here tomorrow and the Nets on Monday. It's gonna
be a lot of fun. As always a lot of
fun having you on Cavs HQ. My friend Jim and
I always appreciate your stopping by your content on Cavs
dot com is just outstanding. So I know we'll bump
into each other at the arena, but on the radio show,
I wish you a very merry Christmas. I'm still stealing

(16:00):
your stuff and I'm not giving you credit. I love
it well again. You can read his stuff, you don't
have to steal it from cava dot Com. Joe Gabriel
our guest here on Cavs HQ presented by bet Waye.
Always fun to have Joe joining us. Will take a

(16:22):
quick time out. When we come back, we'll hear from
Brad Sellers. He's up next on Cav's HQ, presented by
bet Wade. On the Cavaliers Audio Verse this week, as
part of the season of Getting Delivered by Ups, members

(16:45):
of the Cleveland Cavaliers team will bring some holiday joy
to patients throughout the city during the Cavaliers Annual Hospital Visit.
The team will visit their tiniest fans at Cleveland Clinic
main campus pediatric and oncology units, where each participant will
receive a gift from the Cavaliers and have the time
to chat with a few of the players. Cans in
the Community is brought to you by Discount Drug Mart.

(17:07):
We'll be back with more Calms HQ presented by betway
Right after this on the Cavaliers Audio Verse, gave it
up the fowl line Horton Tucker. He'll drive down the lane,
put it up, no rebound, Osband. Here come the Calves,
fourteen point lead with the ball. Osman shoots it left
side law pre ball, perfect perfect past, perfect shot, perfect execution.

(17:31):
Cams by seventeen lane put it up off the glass.
Now well in there to follow. It almost looked like
a past by Donovan Mitchell. It really did that. Comes
Garland streaks to the four court stops at the fall

(17:52):
line and HiT's the jumper. I like it. Do you
know what he's doing. He's finding his spots. You know
what I'm saying to one, two Kasman left wing. Three,
He's got four here at quarter number four. Book of
Bad Captain's HQ presented by Betway. On the Cavaliers audio verse,
tim elk Corn a long with Jim Jones again great

(18:15):
job by the guys on the other side of the window.
Senior producer Kurt McLaughlin, Technical director Marty Allen. Those highlights
from the Cavaliers big win over Utah last night one.
Cavaliers now twenty one and eleven on the year, and
again the best home record in the NBA at fifteen

(18:36):
and two at Rocket Mortgage Field, house and a guy
who follows the Calves just as closely as Jim Jones,
and yours truly is Brad Sellers, the mayor. Of course
you hear Brad halftime in post game when the Cavaliers
are on the road. So you'll hear Brad next week
when we go out to Indiana and take on Chicago

(18:57):
to close out two. But a few more home games
between now and then, So we thought we'd get Brad
onto talk about this season so far and what he
has seen from this Cavalier basketball team. Brad, as always,
we appreciate the time. Thank you, sir. Well, you know,
I like being with you, Tim and Jim, and I
love Cavaliers and she has to get a chance. Well,

(19:17):
there are three teams in the NBA that have twenty
or more wins, one of those being the Cavaliers, and uh,
you two are the basketball gurus. I just called the action.
But Brad, from your perspective, how have they done this?
What has been the recipe for success? I think the
rest of the sickly than this, they've been just getting
at the people right. The resiliency is one thing that

(19:40):
stands out to meet him. You know, cases games where
they've been down. I was just thinking that we're going
down in the fourth quarters, not looking good. They found
a way to ignite themselves down the stretch, and they've
done it collectively together with a defensive effort. And then
I think the chair on the top is really that
you've got a guy like Dot in the midst of
that can be a closet for you, and that through very,

(20:01):
very effective for the cavaliers. Are you surprised that they're
playing this well so consistently, No, Jimmy, to be honest
with you, I'm not right because I like what they
did last year, right, and I like the way we played,
but they were missing that one piece, and one piece
was just a go to guys out of stress that
you could depend on to be able to weather the storm.

(20:23):
Not that the other young players we had Moldy and
Garla weren't going to get there. But I need something
now at this moment, Jimmy, I can't go the starhouse.
I gotta go with one and started spitting the submurb
or somewhere so I wouldn't found one even then, you talk, right,
we plugged that young player into this mix, and then
when we did that, it really should elevate, and it
has elevated the others right, because it's taking that load

(20:46):
off of them. And if they just learned from the
circumstances that they're in, this is only gonna get better.
The other day, I'm watching this team, I'm saying, man,
his team is light years better than last year just
because we added the correct piece. Well, I want to
follow up on that, Brad, because obviously Donovan is the
type of guy. He makes everybody around him better as

(21:07):
far as basketball play is concerned. But how does a
guy like Donovan Mitchell also accelerate maturity? I think one
thing you see Timan if you cut to him doing
the time out, he's always in somebody's ear right, even
in the game he wasn't playing. He talking Garland on
the side. I hate leaving a bit. You know, vessels, Jimmy,

(21:29):
they won't get up right right. You come over here
to be right. Let me tell you what. Let me
tell you what I see here, and not in a
not in I mean or a rude way, but let
me tell you what I see. My experience shows this.
I want you to take this simple consideration. Now you
do what you do, But this is why I see

(21:50):
from the sideline. I think that that has been something
that that looks to be very appreciative, appreciated by the players.
You know, it looks like coach j B has three
things to work from. Brad, He's got the great dynamic
young backcourt tandom you know, the two kids, Garland and
of course Mitchell, but he also has the twin Towers
who are defending. We're talking about Evan Mowbley and of

(22:12):
course Jared Allen. But the key that I think is
gonna be holovert the return of Rubio and then Osmond
who seems to pick up some slack, and then Love
probably can't wait till Rubio comes back. Talk a little
bit about that third feature. Well, I think that the
third group is very important to where we're going because

(22:33):
we gotta have some and there was a stretch with
Lebert was down a bit, but he's come back over
the last week. We can have Song playing very well.
When he does that, that that helps us. And I
think that you can't win any games in his league,
and if you're not have a defensive president, so having
a guy like Mowbley and Geared at the top of

(22:53):
the ticket challenging thing. Playing big underneath. You know what,
I like, Jimmy about those things when they finish on
that rim, jim Yeah, in a week stuff coming up
in here, they're gonna try to finish it, right. I
was like, I'm surprised the way Mowbley gets up so quick.
You you know, you know that have a chance to
block this, You're not. But I think the fact that

(23:17):
they lead the front sport it allowed I mean they
leave the front point allowed the backcourt to be a
little bit more iggressive about it. Because you've got two
guys in the back end of it. They can clean
it up for you. Again, we're talking with Brad Sellers,
the mayor, joining us on this week's edition of calvs HQ,
presented by Bett Way. Of course, you hear Brad right
here on the Cavalier's audio verse when the Calves are

(23:38):
on the road. He joins Mike Snyder at halftime and
during the post game, and Brad, I want to keep
the conversation going a little bit about the maturation and
the development of Evan Mowbley. You're a guy that that
played in the front court. To talk about how long
it just takes to get comfortable and and really get
into the flow of NBA basketball all coming out of college,

(24:01):
and how quickly he's been able to adapt. Well, he's
done a great job. And I would just say that
it takes there some years. Here's something a little bit sooner,
but it takes some years to really get it honed in.
I'll just say this that I remind pe of this
all the time, and I think Mike and I was
talking about on our show, this kid is still be
in college. To really be in college and to see

(24:22):
what he's doing on this level going to a second
the second season, it's unbelievable with the development between last
year this year. Now. He's still got pieces and pieces
to put together in his game. But that that's gonna
come with time. That's gonna come with repetition. That's gonna
come with skill development. But the pieces and the bones
of the of what's necessary are embedded in this young

(24:44):
man and you can see it. And then I don't
know if he comes across always to the public. He
just has a knack to be in the right place
at the right time right and you don't have It's
not like you have to learn him up. He understands
the game, so you know, you gotta go back to
the bringing up both the boys. They understand how to
play the game, so we don't have to go to
the i Q class here. He's already the lead, bounded

(25:07):
head of people. Brad. You know, let's talk a little
bit about JB and the way he's developed this team
and when he and Kobe first sat down a few
years ago when JB got the job. Remember they talked
a lot about the culture. But these kids have all
bought in. Are you surprised that JB has gone this
far and things have happened this quickly for him? No, Daby,

(25:32):
you mean little Bernie? Like this little Bernie, because you
know I played with Bernie. I follows. The follow was
all about the collective and if follow was about I'm
gonna give you enough band with the hang yourself right,
and you have seen this is what I like. It's

(25:53):
like I can appreciate people like that, Yeah, because you
know what, at least I know where I am right, Yeah,
and it's all me to get it done. And I
will tell you he has on occasions people are not
delivering with the goods that they're capable of delivering. He
has taken him and said, you know what. You go
over the stood out. You stood out, and then uh,

(26:14):
you watch a couple of games and then maybe you'll
understand what I'm saying to you. And you have seen
people respond to that. He gives enough people around him.
He tells what he wants. You listen to him. It's no,
it's not sugarcoat, and he's like, Okay, here's the stories.
That's what we need to do. And I think that
this young team like that type of leadership. It has

(26:35):
been responsive to that type of leadership because we just
have those solid type of people. We don't have any
guys that are just like hanging and hanging on the
edge or hanging from the edge. And these are guys
that want to win. They understand what's capable because here
they look at the collegiate programs where they came from.
I mean they want the blue blood. None of these

(26:56):
were the blue blood. These were always they were all
stuff musil money regular. So you think about the core
nucleus and this team, Yeah, they're all like mighty people
and that's why I think there was good. Well that's
a great, great point, and again he always has great insights.

(27:18):
Brett Sellers joining us here on Calvin's HQ presented by
bet Way. We're gonna get more great insights with Brad,
but first this time out on the Cavaliers Audio Verse.
You're experiencing Calv's HQ on the Cavaliers Audio Verse once again.

(27:40):
Here's Tim Alcorn and Jim Chus. I feel like I
should have a Christmas cardigan sweater on with my pipe
next to the fireplace with that music party Allett on
the other side of the window along with Kurt McLaughlin
as we welcome you back Cavin's HQ presented by bett Way.
Yours truly, Tim l Corn along with Jim Jones and

(28:02):
again having a great conversation with Brad and seller's Brad
of course part of our audio versus family. As you
hear Brad from the Cavaliers are on the road, he
joins Mike Snyder at halftime and post game and guys,
last night I was with another former NBA basketball player,
a former Cavalier, Brad Doherty. We had a chance to

(28:22):
talk to some of the Cavalier season ticket holders here
at Rocket Mortgage field House, and Brad remarked that this
team reminds him of that Colosseum era with Brad and
Harper and Nance and Elo and so forth, where it
was a young team. And and then you added a
big piece I mentioned Larry Nance. Uh. Whether it's that

(28:44):
team or another team that you can think of, does
this group, this current group of Calves remind you of
a team that you could literally watch mature and blossom
right before your eyes. Well, I can tell you this
that it is very smiling to that team. That was
right ritual of college pm uh. And I just thought
about as you were saying it to him, right, they

(29:04):
were all young. I forgot how young we work, right,
I was read and I got drafted the same year
out and eighty sick Grass and it was in Ron too,
And so it was a very young Price. I can
about Price where a lot of us came out of there,
and it was a very young era, right, a young team.
And then they added the piece. Two pieces they added.

(29:25):
One was h Well, Phil was already on the team,
So that was Phil Harbard was already on the team.
And then they added uh Nad and the last one
of the critical pieces that group was Mike Savings. Right.
And so when they added those pieces with the young
pieces that they took off, it took off. So if
you think about how the Cavada structure, now you got

(29:48):
Kevin love Rubio right now, pair student agree, you get
bestan leadership to just they've become counsel. They're like they
just give good counsel to of the players, to the
other players. And you watch the young people do what
they do because they got more young, more youth, and
more energy than than any thirties and plus year old Lebron. Right,

(30:10):
So you're gonna figure out that the directory for this
team is probably very similar to that great stuff Bred. Really,
you're all you're all over it. One of the point Bred.
Now you're going somewhere, and where are you going? And
what are the circumstances because it sounds like you're driving
that beautiful F one. I'm I'm on my way and

(30:37):
give me as you know. My third old daughter plays
the visitey one basketball for Due four Wayne and the
Rising League. My youngest UH plays UH guard at the
University of Maryland, the sophomore University of Maryland, and Uh,
I'm on my way to pourt Wayne because the University
of Maryland as scheduled a game against to do four

(31:01):
Wayne and typically a big ten team playing a rising
lead school. They'll probably play it at the big ten
schools and the big tends school doesn't want to leave. Now,
Coach Free said, now we're not doing that. We're gonna
take this show over the four Wayne because we're gonna
not just we're gonna see the Sellers girls play against
one another, but were to go to more that we're
gonna help for do four rain and women's basketball. We're
gonna help this coach get out here and uses and

(31:23):
recruiting tools to get better players for that program. So
that's that's where we're going. So we're all headed up
there tonight and then uh, we're all gonna meet up
and have dinner uh tonight. So all my families headed
this way from various parts of the country, and uh,
we are looking forward to seeing the two youngers who
are you should call a c doc because they used

(31:43):
to sleep in the room together that tighter than thieves,
right the first This is the first time they will
ever have teach it up against one another, but dis
a practice, so we're looking forward to it. I've got
a couple of uh pieces of each school, so when
I sit at the game tomorrow with the stone phase,
they can never turn back, and who would you cheering for? Nobody?

(32:09):
That is just awesome. I in all seriousness, Bread, I
can't imagine the amount of pride that you already have,
but the the amount of pride that you'll be sitting
there with watching your two girls play tomorrow night, that's
just gonna be an incredible feeling. I'd like that one
other thing, Bradley, because I've known you sent you in
junior high school, I know, and I just want to

(32:32):
say we're judged by the fruit that we bring forth
and your family, the quality, the character. It exemplifies everything
I know about you. Tommy. I appreciate it because I
mean I would I was blessed enough to get too
with Jumper and you guys right, you guys don't the way,
and I've got to stay consistent to that, right and
so uh one thing you know about me, I never deviate.

(32:53):
I just stay on the line right now, don't you do.
I don't try to be bored than I am. I
just and I'm not looking to get over on the
people are not who I am, right, and so I
try to pass that on to our kids, and we
see it, we see it coming out and got one
that's in law school at the ball. Uh it's coming
in the full circle here and so today is a
testament to uh their mom and ize work and trying

(33:17):
to raise four girls in this in this different, ever
changing world. I would say, and uh, just to see
them blossom to the people that that they're becoming, right,
it is becoming really strange because I like, man, they
really were listening, right, So as you see it and
you say, oh, you know you've done You've done work

(33:40):
because you want to want your kids to do better
off than you did, go better better people. So my
youngest is always about the one of Maryland is always
about dad. We gotta go to the fool bank, we
gotta help feed from people. We gotta just stay right.
So so it's you know, I like that, and I
give coach Brenda Freeze credit because Maryland is a is

(34:01):
ranked number fifteen. Now they hadn't lost game with two
that they shouldn't have lost. It be the top nine
team in the country and take that show on a
road to a smaller gymnasium. You know, Jimmy, people are
always scared about getting popped by somebody, Like we're not
getting we're going over here just because it's the right
thing to do, and it's it speaks to character, right,

(34:22):
it's just word of collegiate sports, and sometimes people lose
their weight and they lose character along the way. So
how many tickets bread, how many? How many sellers tickets tomorrow? Listen? Listen?
It's a ton So between the two girls, giant sitting

(34:44):
up all the Maryland team and then uh shay sitting
up all the Indiana folks. But you know, since Maryland's
coming in, everybody wants to come to this game, so
like they got it scared away though uh I wasn't
worried about getting there. You go, there, you go. So hey,

(35:07):
before we wrap things up with you, my friend, quite
fifty more games, there's still a lot of basketball to
be played for this Cavalier team. What do you foresee
as this team develops and continues to grow in the
next fifty games? Well, I see, I see continuing dedication
to development of young players. I also see this, I'm

(35:27):
not fools something to believe that you don't stay pat
where you are, you gotta be on this market. See
if there's another pizza that it can make you better? Right,
because before It's one thing if you're up and coming right,
we're knocking on the door. We are. We're in rare
air over here, right, So you have to build up
on that. You have to find out there are a
dozen things that you can do or incorporate into your

(35:49):
team that could make you better. Whether they're materialized or not,
you don't know what. You gotta stay in the game
here because you've gotta figure that the competition around you
is not gonna stay pat They see a young, a
leer team coming, right, how many it's gonna be to
deal with Jared and Evan Mowbley down low and John
Mitchell going off at the top in Garland tilling in
behind them, not a right, So so they've gotta get there.

(36:13):
And so sometimes you have to beat somebody to the
punch on somebody else exactly, you're not gonna have You're
not gonna You're not gonna have him. I'm gonna get
them right. That's the knicks about that business him snooze,
you lose the nicks and sleep at the wheel and

(36:36):
still kicking. And there you go. Well again, Brad, we
cannot thank you enough. We know you're busy. What a
just awesome night you're gonna have tomorrow night, so safe,
be safe in your travels to Indiana. And uh, we'll
