(00:02):
Using every day like to help youincrease your confidence in your self esteem.
I think it was Albert Einstein, and I could be not doing somebody else
justice by crediting them, but Ithink it was about Einstein who said everybody

(00:23):
has the ability to be a genius, but if you ask a fish to
climb a tree, they would thinkthey're stupid. It's a good saying.
I think they're right. I justhad a couple of scenarios, not scenarios,
a couple of incidences. No,that's not the word. Just a

(00:44):
couple of things happen this week whichmade me think of that saying. One
was in the work context about peopleattending meetings and what they contribute and what
they out of it and how theyformulate a set of actions. And another

(01:10):
one was with our seven year olddaughter at work or at school, sorry,
a seven year old daughter at school. There was something that happened this
week in which the teacher felt theneed to contact us. And yeah,
I mean, let's give it thisnot disclaimer less, let's qualify this statement.

(01:38):
I really like the attitude and thework rate and the way our seven
year old daughter's teacher goes about her, her her duties. I think she's
great at a job. Don't havemuch experience, by the way of that,

(02:01):
because I certainly can't remember how goodor bad my teacher was when I
was seven years old, and asour seven year old daughter is our oldest,
don't really have much experience with teachersother than that. But she seems
to be a good egg. Sheseems to do well. But something happened

(02:21):
this week where she just basically justsaid this ain't good enough, this needs
to be done differently. And thenwhen you quiz our daughter about it,
she's like, I didn't understand thequestion and it won't explained very well,
and then you know, she's transpiresshe was just asked to write something about
the experience she had, like sixdays earlier or five days earlier, and

(02:44):
she's just like, I forgot evenwhat we did five days earlier, and
yeah, and it just escalated fromthat, and it just made me think
of that saying we all have theability to succeed, we all like,

(03:09):
don't get me wrong, We've allgot our own challenges. We're not all
coming from the same place. Someof us are more privileged than others,
some of us have more opportunities aroundus than others. But we've all got
that ability to succeed, to grow, to progress quicker in certain areas of

(03:36):
our life than we do in others. And I think it's important that you're
not comparing your inner your inner brain, with what you observe from everyone's outer
you know, because somebody else isout there, I don't know, lifting

(04:00):
certain weights at the gym. Thatdoesn't mean you're rubbish at the gym.
It just means you can't lift asmuch as them. But maybe you're better
at reading books than they are.Or you know, because you're seeing somebody
who's achieved their ideal weight and you'restruggling with the discipline to stay on track.

(04:30):
That doesn't mean that you're should havelack of self esteem in identifying what
clothes you should wear, or whoyou date, or how well you do
your job. A lot of thisconfidence in self esteem overlaps, and I

(04:56):
get that, but we need tobe careful when we're looking at high levels
of confidence and self esteem and motivationthat we don't mix the two. We
need to make sure that we understandthat because we haven't got the right outcome

(05:17):
in one part of what we do, we don't let that spill over to
everything. We don't become demoralized. We don't just end up going, oh,
it was a rubbish day. Iwish today hadn't started. No,
you probably just wish one very specificaspect of that day hadn't started. Think

(05:39):
about it. A lot of peopleI speak to it's just sort of can't
catch a break. Everything goes onis not you know what it should be.
Yeah, I think if you analyzethat in a bit more detail,
that's probably not the case. It'sprobably just a couple of things that have
led you to think in that way. Let me know your thoughts. Contact

(06:05):
me on Twitter at Blundell. That'sb l U N D E l L
Underscore James. Tell me what youthink if we all have the ability to
be geniuses, but if you aska fish to climb a tree, they

(06:30):
would think they're stupid. Have afantastic day, goodbye,
