(00:02):
Using everyday life to help you increaseyour confidence in your self esteem, how
to overcome those obstacles, whatever theymay be. I'm suffering from a bit
of hay fever today. Apologies, apologies in advance. Just trying to work
out if I could be able toget through a whole episode without sneezing or
(00:27):
coughing or having a really funny soundingvoice because my nose is tickling. I
don't know what it is. Tento seven in the morning, Friday,
the sixteenth of June twenty twenty three. Fabulous weather in the UK. Hope
(00:48):
you're having great weather or the rightweather, the right weather for what you're
looking to achieve, no matter whereyou are in the world. Obstacles.
I've got an obstacle to hay fever. Just thinking about when is the best
time to record this episode? DoI do it first thing in the morning,
when hopefully the pollen count is alittle bit low. I don't really
(01:11):
suffer from hay I mean I didn'tsuffer from hay fever in a bad way,
never used to suffer for it atall. And then one day I
started doing some exercise and getting fitby regularly doing some sort of circuit training
and some sort of running and somesprints in a field. Yeah, I
(01:34):
know, and I've had hay feverever since. So yeah, there's a
lesson for you. Hey, it'san obstacle, but there are bigger ones
in my life. And I wasthinking a bit today about obstacles and overcoming
(01:55):
them, and quite often it's theissue is never about the obstacle. Quite
often it's about our attitude towards it. We all get challenges, and this
(02:21):
thing is quite often not about thechallenge in itself. We shouldn't be seen
as a roadblock. We should beseeing it as an opportunity for growth and
learning. And when those who statisticallytend to be people who see the world
(02:47):
as a positive place, who seethe good, who seem to succeed and
strive and you know, a regularimproving, they see obstacles and challenges as
as an excitement, as a goodthing, as something they should get stuck
(03:12):
into. Those who always seem tohave a problem with the world are people
who you know, who the world'salways against them. They are the ones
who seem to see these obstacles andchallenges as problems and are just another inconvenience
(03:38):
and in both instances. It's nothingto do with the type of issues or
type of challenges people face. It'ssimply, quite simply just a case of
your mindset towards it. It's Iwant you had a saying what is it?
(04:00):
Encourage is not the absence of fear. It's the taking action despite the
fear. It's it's about the embracingthis sort of discomfort and stepping outside your
comfort zone. And growth. Personaldevelopment happens when we challenge ourselves and push
(04:23):
beyond our limits, whatever that limitmay be. No matter where you are
on that scale, if you arein a place where you can be and
I say this time and time again, a better person tomorrow than you are
today. If you can grow justa little bit more, then you you're
(04:49):
on the road to success. Youare going to be in a place where
it will be you know, you'replanting the seeds today. It's very s
all just these challenges that you needto overcome. But the theme of the
podcast using everyday life. These challengesare in everyday life. They are all
(05:15):
stepping stones to success. Each obstacleyou overcome strengthens your resilience, builds you
character, It just brings you onestep closer to achieving your goals and your
targets and your your aims and youryou know, you need to be looking
at these as opportunities for growth andlearning and remembering that ultimately your mindset and
(05:46):
your courage and your ability to try, it's the key to overcoming in the
obstacle. And you know, justlike today, I've got a bit of
hay fever, and I thought I'dtry and get this episode straight out the
door because as soon as I wakeup before the pollen count gets higher,
(06:09):
was that the best strategy? Whoknows? I won't know until later on
today when either my hay fever becomesworse or becomes a bit easier. But
it's a strategy. It's an obstacleI've had to overcome, hardly a big
challenge today, hardly a big obstacle. But I'm a little bit better for
(06:30):
it. I'm a little bit moreresilient, I've grown a little bit more.
I feel a little bit more betterabout myself because one of my twenty
things on my to do list todaycan already be ticked off. So what's
the harm in acknowledging that, identifyingthat, moving on to the next task.
(06:55):
Are you with me? Can youdo this? What obstacles you facing?
More importantly, are you going totake action to do something about it?
I know you are. You gottagive it a go, don't put
it off anymore. Let's go forit. Have a fantastic day. Goodbye,
