(00:02):
It might be about because I'm anice person. It might just be because
I treat other people as I wouldlike to be treated myself. But two
stories that have happened this week whichhave helped me boost my confidence and self
esteem on another challenging on another otherthan challenging week, it's been a very

(00:25):
challenging week for me with yeah,a couple of positives and how are you?
By the way, thanks for tuningin to another episode. Time is
against me at the moment, soI'm recording this while walking along the high
street. I've just canceled my twocontract. It's been an absolute nightmare.
I lost the phone ages ago.I've got given a company phone around the

(00:47):
same time, and that because ofthat, I didn't bother I didn't need
my O two phone, so Icanceled it. Still been in build every
month, tried to cancel it again, then kept failing security, which was

(01:10):
weird because I'd originally had enough securityclearance to cancel my contracts in the first
place. Then managed to cancel ittoday I think, I hope. And
what's been uncovered is they never canceledit last time because they gave me a
is it a stack code? Orsomething, which means if I should register

(01:34):
my to transfer my number to someoneelse, to another phone provider or something,
and I needed to use it inthirty days otherwise the contract continued.
And because I didn't, because Iobviously explained to them, I don't need
to transfer it to another phone becauseI got a company phone, so I
don't need all a bit of amess. But anyway, that's why apparently

(01:55):
my two contract wasn't canceled and Iwas still being billed three months later.
And they said, then because Ikept failing security, I've got to go
into an O two shop. Twoshop said, yeah, we get this
all the time. We can't help. You need to go to your bank
and get your bank statement reference codewhich starts with a D. So that

(02:21):
was three doors down a road.So I went into D and I just
thought, hang on it and phoneNo. Two again. I thought,
well, my phone and No twoagain. This is ridiculous. I'm going
to go back in the store. So I rang O two from the two
store, went through to their headoffice, got speaking to someone there.
They said, you need someone instore to verify the ID. We went
backwards and forwards and forty five minuteslater hopefully that contract's been canceled. And

(02:46):
she said to me right at theend of the call, thank you so
much for being so polite with allthis and barn and Ainham customer, right,
she said, I can see thatthis whole process has been very frustrating
for you back and forwards, andyou know, thank you very much for
being so polite. It would havebeen very easy to lose your whatever a
temper, she said, and thanks, have a lovely weekend. I thought,

(03:08):
how nice is that? So thatwas one thing. The other thing
is England are playing in the USoccer Euros at the moment. I'm not
doing too well. To be honest, I say we're not doing too well.

(03:28):
Is that typically English thing to say? We finished top of our group,
playing really really really bad. Andyeah, the whole world, the
whole of the UK, not eventhe whole of UK, the whole of
England are against the team at themoment because of that, all the players
or the manager or what have you. And rightly so, I believe,

(03:51):
because they're not performing. But wehave qualified for the knockout stages. Anyway,
the point being I wanted to booka table to watch the game.
The other night, and it wason Tuesday night, I think it was,
and a few mates said we'll begoing down a pub to watch it,
and I said, yeah, sure, So I phoned them up on

(04:12):
the Sunday Sunday evening. No Ididn't. I found them up Monday morning
and spoke to someone there who Ididn't know who they were because I'm not
normally at the pub during the week. It's obviously a week worker, a
weekday worker. And they said,no, sorry, we fully, but
I mean, oh, can yousqueeze me in? I can't squeeze you
in. I can't really do anything. We've sold out. They've got no

(04:36):
seats, no tables available. Isaid, okay, fine, So I
went in on the way home fromwork and saw the landlady and said to
her, any chance you could squeezeme and four others in, me and
my four friends. She said, sure, nowhere, I'll find a way
and I said sure, sho't Yeah, yeah, make it happen. And

(05:01):
she said, look, you're findyour as good as gold. You're always
polite and helpful and you know niceto staff. I want to do my
best for you. What goes aroundcomes around, isn't it? So by
me showing levels of confidence and respectfor other people, it's come back in
reverse to help me, and thathelps me, you know. I mean,

(05:27):
that's nothing to do with confidence,is it. That's just being polite
and being respectful to other people, but by doing that being not a genuine
nice person, being somebody that peopledon't mind having around the place. I
mean, I imagine if I wasin that pub every day of the week
but the moment, always complaining oralways causing you know, increased stress levels

(05:50):
for staff, that answer would havebeen no, sorry, we're fully booked.
It's is it not that simple? Is it not that simple that if
you're doing the nice things in liferegularly, and if you're in a place
where you are treating others as youexpect to be treated yourself, or even

(06:12):
more, treating others better than youexpect to be treated yourself, then good
things will happen. Be that goto person, be that nice person,
and see where it gets you.Because ultimately I'm feeling on top of the
world. Now I've hopefully sorted outmy own two contract. I'd appreciate that

(06:35):
I've been appreciated as a human beingwith my pub or at least by the
landlady of the pub, and thatincreases my confidence levels. This is what
it's about, hope. That makessense. It does make sense, right,
it does make sense. It's youryour product of the people you hang

(06:58):
around the most. Make sure youhang around nice people, be a nice
person yourself, and spread the joyand check out the results. Have a
fantastic day. Goodbye.
