We stand at the crossroads of ambition and hesitation, where the path forward is often clouded by the fog of uncertainty and fear. It's easy to find ourselves paralyzed, caught in the headlights of indecision, wondering if any step we take will be the right one.

But let me share a simple truth with you—a truth that has the power to illuminate the darkness and guide us through: Doing something is always better than doing nothing. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, not with standing still. Every great achievement in history, every monument, every breakthrough, started as a mere action, a decision to move from inertia to motion.

The fear of failure, while natural, is a poor compass for navigating the vast possibilities that life offers. It is through action, through the courage to embrace the unknown, that we discover our potential, learn from our mistakes, and carve out our destiny.Remember, it's not about the grandeur of the action but the decision to act.

A small step forward is infinitely more valuable than the largest intention left dormant. It's in the act of doing that we find direction, gain momentum, and build the resilience necessary to face challenges head-on.Let's not fall into the trap of waiting for the perfect moment, for perfection is an illusion that leads to stagnation. Instead, let's embrace the beauty of progress, however imperfect.

Each action you take, no matter how small, is a victory against the inertia that seeks to hold you back. It's a statement to the world and to yourself that you are moving, growing, and alive. So, I urge you today, don't let the fear of imperfection, the dread of criticism, or the shadow of doubt stop you from taking that step. Embrace the possibility that lies in action. Remember, doing something, anything, is the first step towards achieving the extraordinary. Let's not be content with what is comfortable and safe. Let's venture into the unknown, for it is there that we find the true measure of what we can achieve. In the end, we will not regret the things we did, but the things we did not do.

So, let's choose action over inaction, progress over stagnation, and courage over fear. Let's do something, because indeed, doing something is always better than doing nothing.

I know I said every episode fromnow on would not be about roller blading,
So let's try and not make thisepisode about rollerblading. But at the
same time, I want to usea roller blading analogy. It's kind of

(00:25):
sorry. I'm kind of sorry.I'm kind of not. I kind of
I am kind of not. Hey, how are you doing? Feels like
it's been a long time since we'velast spoken. How are you doing?
What have you been up to?It's twenty twenty four. What's going on
in your life? What are youdoing to make it the best year ever?

(00:51):
And I mean properly, what areyou doing in your mind creating those
thoughts, those targets, dreams, and then what are you doing to make
it happen? I have not beendoing a lot for the last couple of
weeks. Been feeling under the weather. I don't think I've been out rollerblading

(01:12):
for probably two weeks. And Ihad like a cold and a bit of
a flu. I can't remember whatday it was, but I sort of
woke up and just thought I hada really bad headache. Just no,
this is silly. Went back tobed, pretty much slept all day,

(01:34):
and the following day I think Iwent to work, or for the following
few days went to work, andthen another day I just went into work,
lasted a couple of hours, andso it's kind of been going on
for like two weeks and I haven'tbeen just haven't had the energy to do
a lot, to be honest,So just focus on the bear essentials of

(02:00):
doing things like the work that needsto be done at work and getting food
in for the family. And literallywe've got to the stage when I haven't
been giving my children good night kisses, and they've been going, why why
are you not giving us good nightkisses and cuddles? And then like,
daddy's a bit poorly, So nowthey keep asking me, Daddy, are

(02:23):
you poorly or are you now better? Because they want their kisses, which
is lovely. And yeah, Sunday, the third Sunday, the third of
March, I thought, you knowwhat, I'm going to get out.
I was going to get out yesterdayactually, and we woke up to snow,

(02:44):
the snow everywhere around us. SoI said to Carrie, come on,
I don't think this snow is goingto be You could see on the
patio it was already sort of fallingout a bit, so I said,
come on, we need to getup, we need to get out,
We need to go and build asnowman a bit quick. So I don't

(03:06):
think this is going to be hereat lunch time. And we were from
You know, that analysis was prettyspot on. As I left the house
this morning, everything is back tobeing green. Other than a very small
what wasn't a snowman in the end, it was a flamingo because Tobias loves
flamingos, so we had to builda flamingo, not a snowman. Couldn't

(03:30):
find anything to paint it pink. But you know there are white flamingos out
there, aren't there are there?Who knows? So yeah, that was
good fun. And you know,if that's my excuse for not going roll
the blade in yesterday and getting someexercise, I'm happy with that. But

(03:50):
whatever it is. Carter past day, on a Sunday morning, I said
to Carry I'm going to get inthe car. I'm going to go and
drive somewhere, come back to themulti story car park again. And it's
been a struggle. So I haven'tbeen out for as I said, I've
for at least two weeks. Ireckon and within ten minutes my legs and

(04:12):
sort of joints you could really feelthe pressures from the skating on there.
And I was only going backwards andforwards in front of the car. And
then I just thought, well, let's just sort of go a little bit
more further, which I did,but it was hard work. I'm still

(04:33):
slightly out of breath now. Andthis is my question for you. I
set myself a target of thirty minutes, and I did about twenty two or
twenty three before I went, doyou know what I'm going to stop now?
I haven't fallen over this morning.I'm just going to go back to
the car, get back home andget on with my day. So I

(04:57):
haven't achieved my target. Does thatmake today a successful failure? The correct
answer be interested to know your thoughts, by the way, But the correct
answer in my mind is this becomesa success because this is twenty five minutes

(05:20):
of skating, which is today. But why am I beating myself up over
another sort of ten minutes? Whatam I beating myself up because I didn't
achieve my target. I've got outthat house, I've got my skates on,
and I've gone for it. Andso often with our targets and motivations,

(05:44):
we beat ourselves up over it.We slip up slightly. Dieting is
the classic with this. You havea bad day and you eat something you
shouldn't oh, and then you justthink, oh, this is can't be
bothered with this. You know,I've messed it up. And then you
have another bad day, and thenanother bad day and another bad day.
That's not what this is about. We all have bad days. Don't beat

(06:05):
yourself up over it. The importantthing is it's not you know what's happened
to make it a bad day. It's your mindset and your attitude to what
you're going to do about it tomake sure that you learn from it and
you move on from it and youhave a better day tomorrow. So whatever

(06:30):
you're up to, wherever you arewith your New Year's resolutions, remember them.
This is now two months ago theywere set. Still got yours going
on. I'm not I've never beena big one for New Year's resolutions,
but you know, no matter whereyou are with this sort of targets for
twenty twenty four, if it isn'tquite going the way you planned, it's

(06:55):
okay. It doesn't matter. Butwhat does matter, it's what you're going
to do about it. What areyou going to do today to move you
that little bit more step closer? What are you going to do today to
say, do you know what? What's happened in the past has happened,
and I can't do anything about that. But what I can do is take

(07:20):
one decent action today to move meone step closer to where I want to
be. And as long as you'regoing to do that, you're on the
right track. You are a winner. I got belief in you. I

(07:42):
know you can do this. Iknow I can do this as well.
Come on, let's do it together. Let's make it happen. Have a
fantastic day, make it happen,Make it happen, make it happen now.
No, no, no, no, no, do it. Let
me know how you get on.Have a good day. Goodbye.
