(00:02):
Using everyday life to help you increaseyour confidence in your self esteem and have
a bit more motivation and really processyour thoughts and your opinions and be conscious
of perception and what you believe inwhat you don't. Just cut walked out
(00:26):
of. It's twenty past seven ona Tuesday morning. Just walked out of
Tesco's are large supermarket in our tankand I, I don't know whether it's
just a marketing ploy or whether peopleactually strongly believe this, but it's having
(00:51):
a load of renovation work done. And I saw something on the back of
one of the staff's sort of jacketsthat just says happy to help providing top
levels of customer service even when thisrenovation works going on, or something like
(01:14):
that, right, And I'm thinking, no, you don't, because if
you really cared about your customer experience, you would just shop the store.
You would just shop the store. You would just shut the store for like
two weeks, get the work outof the way, and then reopen again.
But you don't want to do thatbecause you're gonna lose business during that
(01:34):
time. So instead you're going tokeep the store open and try and do
try and still serve customers mediocre, stroke badly, whilst at the same time
trying to do these renovations. Soyou've got all these shirts where people are
(01:57):
saying happy to help, and they'rejust guiding customers around because like the stuff
that's normally in you know, oneas always is now at the other end
of the store, et cetera,et cetera. And you know that's that's
probably just the the the branding departmentor the marketing department of the company who
are printing those T shirts, etcetera, et cetera. But you then
(02:21):
get these sometimes I can't even getto the product I want to get,
Like this morning, I want tosome bananas. There's three like are they
home shoppers? Three home shoppers whoare picking four online deliveries and I cannot
(02:42):
even get to the product I wantto get to because there's three of them
there. And I heard something onlinethe other day. They're saying, oh,
yeah, no, it's far betterfor the environment, and I'm like,
it's it may be better for theenvironment, But you've got something on
your shirt that says providing great levelsof customer service. Well, you're not
(03:05):
your reality or your perception with whatyou believe is happening is completely skewed.
And then I had this woman theother day, I probably about a month
ago. Now serve me at thecheckout, and in the UK, we
load ourselves. There's no one thereto load your shopping for you, right,
(03:25):
you have to load your own backs, and you've also got to pay
for your carrier bags, your plasticbacks by law. So I think picked
up a third one. I wasputting my shopping into two and decided to
take a third one, and shesaid, you don't need a third one.
(03:46):
I went, yeh, yes,I do. I want a third
bag, and she went, wasbetter for the environment if you could squeeze
it into two. And I hadto say to her, what you Tescos
don't care for environment? And shesays, oh, yes, we do,
yeah, we And I literally hadto show her in my packaging that
of the products I've just bought, which is all double wrapped, triple wrapped,
(04:10):
that they've got rid of the delicounter in which I could buy,
you know, enough meat to feedthe whole family and it'd be wrapped once
and instead now I have to buyfour individually wrapped products. And it's just
the reality of I don't know whetherthe company whitewashed their employees to think that
(04:32):
way, or whether they just drumit into them that this is ultimately the
best thing for the environment, orwhether it's staff generally thinking that this really
is the right thing, but theperception of their reality or their perception is
(04:56):
completely not in touch with their reality. And in the UK, we've got
a general election coming up soon, and you know the same in the US
there will be the elections coming upin the near future. And online nowadays,
it's very easy for misinformation to beput out there, especially on social
(05:21):
media, and also selected information, and this is probably more relevant to the
majority of us in the world listeningto selected information, where we get fed
just the information that somebody wants usto hear without giving us a balanced view,
(05:48):
and it skews our reality. Itskews our opinions of what is true
and what is partly true and whatis completely not true. But we somehow
thought it was because we've our biasesonly allow us to listen to certain parts
(06:15):
of that information, or we wereonly privy to certain parts of that information,
so we don't get to make informeddecisions. And if you're looking to
increase your confidence in your self esteemand have high levels of motivation. You
really need you not really need to. You most certainly have to start thinking
to yourself, do I have allthis information? Do I have all the
(06:39):
information required to make an informed decision? Do I have all the information required
that allows me to as an individual, process that information and be satis side
(07:00):
that I can digest that information ina way that allows me to, you
know, just just be better informed. And I'll tell you now, in
most instances, there's two sides toevery story, and you're going to be
(07:23):
somewhere in the middle. And that'sokay. You're allowed to be somewhere in
the middle. And you don't needto be opinions of one way or another.
You're happy, you should be happyjust being I can see it from
this point of view, and Ican see it from that point of view,
and I personally think option A,but I can see that people would
(07:46):
argue for Option B. You don'tneed you don't need to get stressed about
that. You don't need to feelthat you're you need to be in Team
A or Team BE. You don'tneed to specifically vote for one political party
(08:11):
or another. You are allowed tohave pinions good and bad, for the
one you want to vote for andthe one that you're probably not. The
same rules apply for shopping in asupermarket. The same rules apply if you
work in that supermarket. You're allowedto have opinions about that company which are
(08:33):
both plus and minuses. Because doyou know what, when you do,
you have a balanced outlook on lifeand you can view the world view via
via glasses that are giving you bothperspectives, and that ultimately is fantastic.
(09:03):
Trust me for your confidence and yourself esteem, for your motivation, for
your outlook on life, for understandingwhat you should be working on today,
for understanding how you help and supportthose people around you. So all I'm
(09:24):
saying is having never not recorded anepisode for I don't know three months or
something, is how are you?By the way, hope you're well?
Is just think about this? Whatis what are those things happening around you
that are influencing your decisions and arethey balanced or do you just need to
(09:46):
take a little step back, maybeask an extra couple of questions and just
realize that it's quite often two sidesto every story. Let me know your
thoughts. Have a fantastic day,on a different subject. By the way,
(10:07):
I listened to a couple of episodesof my podcast yesterday for no other
reason than it came up because somebodyhad commented on it. So I saw
an email notification on that, andI realized that you can't get hold of
