birthday party. He'll be coming up, on the
fourteenth, but we'll be celebrating
this, Saturday. We're gonna take him down there
to Legends and and have a little birthday
party for them there. So we're gonna have

schedule. Weekly events, Tuesdays, 10:30AM.
They got story time, story songs and games
for young children.
5PM, they have got tween club. That's youth
ages 10 to 13. They're welcome to hang
out after school and explore new interests and
activities every week.
Wednesdays at 01:30PM,

after school activities, homework help, a creation station,
and snacks for school aged kids.
Thursdays, it's four at 4PM, after school activities,
homework,
STEM projects, and games and snacks for school
aged kids.

it's easy flow yoga. That's a free class
for this class. It is recommended that you
participants be able to comfortably get up and

down from the floor. That'll work better for
everybody.
Hey. On Saturdays, 1PM,
a Saturday shuffle, the Magic the Gathering, and
more. Players can bring their favorite deck and
play Magic the Gathering. Gamers of all kinds

or board games from their own collections or
browse the library's games and find a crew
to play with.

On the second and fourth Saturdays at 1PM,
they've got the team
teach tech. This is what drop by the
library, annex with your device or tech questions,
and get help from a trained cyber senior
technology
mentor. Our their mentors are young people who
have been trained to teach technology to to
older adults and standing by to help with
your smartphone, iPad, or computer.

This free service is presented in partnership with
Harmony and Me Music. Hey. They got some
monthly events going on too. On the seventh,
they've got,
oh, let's see. At 12PM, they've got the
lifestyles medicine brown bag lunch. Joint OSU professor
Stephanie Polizzi for a free wellness and nutrition
class. This month's talk week is foods that

fight cancer, and you can bring a brown
bag lunch and a friend. And then on
the twelfth,
this is happening all day. They got the
Spice World bags, take a culinary journey around
the world. Their spice bags feature unique monthly
spice from a different part of the world.
Each bag comes with a tester sample, trivia,
and recipe suggestions.

Supplies are limited, so first come, first serve.
And then on the fourteenth at 1PM, we've
got the craft,
and connect with Kim. Join local craft guru
Kim for a step by step workshop on
creating your own miniature terrarium.
Due to limited space and supplies, registration for
these monthly workshops are required.

plus.
And we got a little bit one a
little bit more here on the book clubs.
On the seventh, '4 PM, they got the
voyagers book club. This is a fresh, fun
book club for tweens and young teens who
love diving into stories and exploring new worlds.
Meetings include fun, creative activities related to the
book of the month. In April, the book

we'll have to figure out what the May
1 is next time we catch back. We'll

And then on the thirteenth at 5PM, they've
got Club de Lectura,
a monthly book club for Spanish speakers. Parents

weird history or real history I do myself
with Bushwacker Bruce.

welcome to this week's bit of weird real
history for your knowledge pleasure.
Did you know
that a unexplained laughter epidemic
broke out in Tanzania? It's true, and here's
a tour story. In 1962,

(13:55):
Tanganyika, now Tanzania,
experienced a unique epidemic,
uncontrolled but prolonged laughter among the school children.
While outbreak, which began on a mission run
girls boarding school in Kashasha,
spread to the other schools and villages within
a hundred mile radius of Bukoba.
The laughter attacks, which could last from a
few hours to sixteen days, were accompanied by

symptoms like breathing problems, fainting, and skin rashes.
All the epidemic started in Kinshasa,
a boarding school for girls with three girls
experienced uncontrollable laughter on January thirty of nineteen
sixty two.
The laughter spread rapidly throughout the school, affecting
ninety five of the 59 pupils,
and then to nearby villages
with the Samba Village being particularly affected. The

school was closed on 03/18/1962
due to the outbreak, and the epidemic continued
to spread to all the other schools and
villages.
The first outbreak in Kishasa lasted approximately forty
eight days with second phase affecting additional pupils
when the school reopened on May 21.
The ten tonight Tanzania laughter epidemic is often

described as a case of mass psychogenic
illness or mass air hysteria,
suggesting a psychological rather than a physical cause.
Well, the epidemic eventually subsided on its own
with no specific intervention or treatment being required.

to those who are home ridden, you're not

only helping someone who is hungry, but you
also bring a bit of kindness into their
lives, a friendly face for them to see
every day, and social contact they may not
have otherwise.
There are three routes that deliver hot meals
to about 60 seniors on a daily basis.
Each route takes about one and a half
hours.
You can volunteer by the day, the week,
biweekly, bimonthly, even if it's just one day

a week. One day a month, whatever works
for you. Every little bit helps. And if
you're in helping interested in helping in this
great cause for the community,

Checo activity center.

Boy Scouts of America are always scouting for
new troop members. Boys and girls are invited.
Troop thirty two and troop forty thirty two
are now accepting new scouts as well as
adults interested in volunteer.
Scouts are able to join the troops from
fifth grade to age 17.
Adults are able to volunteer as long as
they are over 21 years old and able

to pass a background check and willing to
spend about an hour and a half completing
a youth protection training course. They meet at
Scout Hall from seven to 08:30PM
every Monday night, except on holidays. You can
meet the troops and learn more about what
the scouts can help you achieve by going

County blood drives. The need for blood is

constant, and sometimes that need becomes critical.
Since the beginning of the year, hundreds of
blood drives have been canceled, and more than
16,000
blood and platelet donations have gone uncollected
due to severe winter
weather and wildfires.
And you know what? Even when the summer
here, we still got a need for the
blood. So that's why the American Red Cross
needs you to make an appointment to give

In our local library, we participate in it.

for older adults living with memory loss and

relax and socialize with others in their same
situation.
Memory Cafe will be staffed by qualified social
service provider,

Queers and Allies Brookings get together at the
ChatCo Library Forest Room every third Saturday of

Coast Pride.
The Brookings recorder ensemble

the exploration
and enjoyment of playing music
