Continuing “The Month of the Man” is speaker, author, and certified life and relationship coach and “Reality Expert” Troy Spry.  Troy stopped by Enough Factor Podcast to have a no holds barred conversation about what it’s like to be a Black Man in Corporate America.  What he shared was surprising even for me!  We started the conversation with a thought-provoking question:  what is your soul crying for?

An avid blogger Troy invites the world to share in the many interesting thoughts and conversations he has about life, love and the lessons they’ve taught him. His popular blog, books, conversation parties, webinars and seminars, inspirational morning messages, lunchtime discussions, and personal one-on-one relationship and life coaching helped Troy grow from a blog, to a brand, to movement. He holds a position as an official staff writer for the award winning website BlackAndMarriedWithKids.com where he was recently the recipient of the “WRITER OF THE YEAR” and “WRITERS CHOICE AWARD.” Troy also has had the pleasure of writing for celebrity matchmaker Paul C. Brunson, has had his work featured in JET Magazine Online, and was chosen to be a guest blogger for the Steve Harvey Act like a Success Conference. He is a dating expert and contributor for DatingAdvice.com, DigitalRomance.Com, VixenDaily.com, and RealBlackLove.com. Troy has been listed as a premier coach by BlackMenRock.net, has had the honor of being a featured guest on HuffPost Live, and WBTV Bounce TV in Charlotte, NC and FOX 46’s Good Morning Charlotte!

Nevertheless, Troy divested himself of all of his accomplishments to take me inside the struggles he faces every day as a Black Man.

Troy talks about:

--The pebbles that pile up for Black Men every time they have to nip and tuck their Blackness so White America won’t get offended or scared
--Why he crosses the street when he approaches White Women so he won’t have to suffer the disappointment of seeing their nervousness or clasping their purse as he approaches them
--The weight of the entire Black race that Black Men carry when they are the “exception” to the rule
--The futility of getting mental health support only to go out and get broken over and over again
--The exhaustion of having to explain this and teach White people over and over again
…and much more.

Our depth of conversation was honest and uncensored.  If you wonder what it’s like to be a Black Man in this country, this is an episode you don’t want to miss.
