(00:49):
my friend. It's a salty Tuesday. I'm salty. I'm dragging
people on the Twitter machine because I just I give zero,
you know what's anymore? I just I'm not having it,
just not having it. I voted today, we we had
you know, gubernatorial given to those candidates yeah, I gotta
give it the I'm gonna give it to them candidates
I vote. I'm I'm exercising my duty as American today.

(01:13):
I'm out there voting in those voting streets. What did
you do this morning when you got up?

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Nothing? I screwed up a time of a show. And
now I'm all mad about it, and I'm salty, and
I'm trying to figure out as it's cecil or cecil.
You keep going between them, and I can't figure out
which fielder it is.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
I think it's always said cecil. I think it is cecil.
I like to say cecil because I'm from New York
and it just sounds like I think that's the neat
every now and then you get in New york Ism
out of me and like cecil would be one of those.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Yeah, well it looks like a cecil, but I've always
known it as a cecil, so it is a cecil.
H You know, I'm trying to be mad over here,
but then I'm like, cecil, cecil. I can't figure out
which one's going on here. So now you've got me,
You got me more mad? Now?

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Good? I like angry.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Welch's yeah, angry Welsh is dangerous, salty.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Joe angry Welsh. What could go wrong today? Let's start
at the top here. Roman Anthony made his debut over
four with an RBI on Monday. My goodness, the coverage
of this game, which was a pretty fun baseball game,
but Welsh, the uh, the constant. I almost felt bad
for Roman Anthony at times in this game where it's like,
all right, can we give the kid a break? Can

(02:24):
we not video him like walking up and down the
dugout or you know, going in the locker room to
go take a dump. But he's like, leave the kid
alone a little bit, just a little much.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
It was like Taylor Swift at a Chiefski They're like,
what is Roman Anthony doing? Is he okay? Is he
still here the one hundred percent? But that's like the
time of year. There is that window. It's like it's
really like June through July where they're just trying to
grasp at things or trying to figure out what's going on,
you know, hype up anything for baseball. They just like

(02:54):
top prospects up and you go. But it is also funny,
very funny, because we were just doing the whole like
East Coast bias things I screwed up time that you have,
Like Caglione didn't get the same pub that Roman Anthony did,
Kansas City versus Boston, a definite different feel team wise,
all of that stuff just ridiculous. How much more pub

(03:16):
he got Roman Anthony did than Jack cagleon.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Yeah, and that's fine. I mean it's the Boston Red Sox.
This has been the guy and they've been hyping him forever,
so I get it. It's cool. You know, you know
what's not cool? Welsh and I kind of wanted to
start the show with this, but then we got off
on a tangent. I'm getting a little annoyed about all
of the the constant umpiring softness that's going on, Like
these umpires a getting real soft, Like just because you

(03:41):
don't like a guy making a comment about your call
does not mean you have to throw him out immediately
of game. Nobody comes to see the umpires. Let a
guy yell and screw you and then go walk to
the dugout who cares this whole thing Like you're somehow
special even though you're gonna get replaced by the robots
next year in some ways, like I don't know, if
they're salty about it. But it feels like ever since
that announcement officially over the weekend, there were so many

(04:03):
ejections you know what I'm talking about. There's a couple
big ones where like what's going on here? And then
a couple last night too, what's going on here? Umpires?
Why are you so soft? Like don't throw Manny Machado
out of a game, don't throw this guy at a game.
I've had it like a scream.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Letting them do that is better for your job, like
knowing that you're an UMP that can take a little
bit back after you make horrific calls at the end
of the day. It's just like this is going to
become one of those you know what one's wrong with
modern day kid. There's no accountability. There's no accountability in
that world of umpiring, and it's like very very very

(04:38):
few do you ever hear like, you know, an UMP
just like to acknowledge, like, oh, yeah, that was my bad.
You know, you got the makeup calls and stuff. But
the zones have gotten weird. There's more pressure. It seems
like they've gotten worse than ever, and there's just no
true accountability to like and and what I mean when
I say that, by the way, accountability can be like
let the player have their moment. You know, like obviously

(04:59):
if they're in the okay, they're in the wrong, but
you know they're arguing and screaming at you because of
how bad of a call it is, and percentages are
working in favor of the players right now. Accountability would
just be letting them have a moment. Yeah, them go overboard.
But then it's like you have no moments, and then
the dudes lose their minds, absolutely lose their minds. Maybe
that's what they want, real housewives of bad calls at

(05:21):
home plate.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Look again, let them vent, let them have their moment,
yell and scream, and then go back to the dugout.
Don't you know? Stop just stop throwing these players out.
And it's annoying. As a fantasy manager, I'm starting to
get annoyed, Like, stop doing this. You're taking out bats
away from my players. I'm gonna gonna lose my mind here,
all right, Chris Salem, lose my mind over eleven strikeouts yesterday,

(05:42):
one run over seven innings. All right, I got some stats,
I got some nuggets. You're ready for the dug out.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Here we go give some nugs.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
Sail hast three ten strikeout games this season, the first
time he's reached eleven this season. He was zero and
two to start the year a six seventeen ERA and
his last five starts here, oh excuse the overs first
five starts, Sale is four and two with a one
point four to one ERA, seventy five strikeouts eighteen walks
over his last fifty seven innings in his last nine starts.

(06:09):
That is dominant. Nobody's gonna remember those first couple of
stars that were rocky in April. Nobody's gonna remember it.
He right now is plus fifteen hundred for Cy Young.
I threw a ten spot on it this morning just
to see, like, hey, ten bucks, whatever makes me one
hundred and fifty. That's a good bet. This is a
guy capable of winning the Cy Young. Zach Wheeler has
n't blown my mind. Paul Skens can't buy a w

(06:29):
And I'm looking at this going why not Chris Sail again?
Why not? And you know what, he's got the Rockies
later this week. And guess what that number after that
rocky start ain't gonna be fifteen hundred anymore. Welsh.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
It's a pretty good bet. I mean, one of the
reasons that works against it. He already has more losses
than he did last year. We only had three losses.
But the Braves have strogued. I know, if they could
pick it up, and it's like, you know, what does
he have? Let's call it.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Yeah, but like, but hold on a second, hold on Skeens.
Is the guy at the top of the board who
can't a win. You want to talk about struggling teams
and bet that nobody cares. So if nobody cares and
all things are equal, Paul Skeans. Eventually, who's gonna have
more wins? Chris Sale or Paul Skeins. My money's on
Krsale at the end of the year.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
I don't disagree with that. I mean, I think what
goes in a lot of people's minds is like Sales
struggling first half. But you know, if he has if
he's done half of his starts, here's the only problem
it like Skeens, and I think it would be difficult.
And that's why I guy like Wheeler could be good
is if he only has four wins and he has
let's say, fifteen more starts, he had twenty nine starts
last year. That would be fifteen more he could get

(07:32):
to this season. You gotta win ten of those to
get to fourteen. But outside and that's still not even.
He had eighteen wins last year. The things that do
work in his favorite there's a lot of similarities to
last year. He's got a similar ish era, similar ish
expected era. Things are up a little bit, giving up
a little bit more, barrel walking a little bit more.
But again, as the season goes on, and if he

(07:53):
keeps on to this, it's actually not the worst bet.
But it just you know, buying back on Chris Sale
early in the year, hopeful people did. But yeah, on
that betting market, I'm not against it. There's just a
lot of guys. There's a lot of these are no
clear winner, and there's just a lot of dudes that
are I think are viable for it. Yamamoto. You didn't
even mention Yamamoto. And he's on the Dodgers. You know,

(08:14):
he could end up being the one with the most
wins and that might be the differentiating factor our wins
and how good your team is. He's got a two
two era with six wins right now, So I would say,
he might, you know, the longevity of the season. If
this continues, he might be the front runner. If he
gets to fifteen sixteen wins and keeps it under two
and a half ERA, he might be the dudes n
they now Paul.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Skeans is minus one eighty five. I have mo Motos
plus five hundred Wheelers, plus one thousand Chrysales plus fifteen hundred.
My point about Sale two is after this Colorado start,
that number is not going to be plus fifteen hundred
and Chrissale he's gonna have another double. They just strikeout
game there probably most likely, and then all of a
sudden we start to roll. Then if Kens gets another
no decision or God for Bed doesn't pitch, well, this

(08:54):
market's going to develop quickly. And I'm Welsh knows this
is This is where I make the cake. Every single
year is in this market. I know when to pounce
on these things, when it's going to make money, and
then when I can cash out of them. This is
the time to make money. Just like the Jack Keglee
on plus thirty five hundred, I'm like put a ten
spot on it. By the time he got caught up
with the weekend it was plus eight fifty. You know,
like it's just there's gonna be spots where you can

(09:16):
get these cash out options where things get a little tighter.
We'll see, but I think now is a good time
to do that if you're in that market. Ronald ac
Cooney also for the Braves yesterday, fifth home run, walk twice.
He's been great. The big story yesterday was the Yuri
Perez return. Now, if you look at the line, you
kind of go, that wasn't great against the Pirates. But
I think we got to look a little deeper than that,
because when he started he retired the six of the

(09:38):
first seven batters he faced was terrific. He looked really sharp,
and then he showed that, you know, he's not quite
up to stamina wise. As things went on a little bit,
he had given up. Andrew McCutcheon had a run scoring single,
then Brian Reynolds cleared the bases with a triple. So
that was the big kind of knife in the hard
in that game. He threw seventy pitches. But the other
good news Welsh take away from the start ninety eight

(10:01):
and a half miles an hour. That was the average
of the fastball. That is excellent news if you have
your peers here. That's the probably the most important number
I would argue from yesterday.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Yeah, and that was that's up a mile per hour
from twenty twenty three. So that's like the really big positive. Yeah.
I think this might have been like a safety start,
one of those things where you're playing it really safe,
because his pitch mix was super weird. He was heavier
fastball than he was in twenty twenty three fifty percent fastball.
Slider was his second most used pitch, but that was

(10:31):
down almost ten percent, and then he added in a
sinker this year. He didn't throw a sinker in twenty
twenty three. What that ended up doing is that made
him not throw a change up almost whatsoever. And his
curveball usage was down a tiny bit. Why these things
are important. Sinkers are not traditionally like strikeout pitches. You know,
they're gonna be set up for like ground balls. You know,

(10:52):
maybe you're throwing it to I guess it would be
left hander, you know, something like that. So it'd be
really interesting to watch like what happens with the strikeout number,
because you're gonna need that curveball that change up had
a forty six percent wiff rate last season and he
just scrapped that. So we're just gonna have to see
he induced a lot of weak contact. I was just
looking at this. My eyes were popping. If anybody was
watching and looking at me. When you look at the

(11:14):
box score, he gave up two hard hit balls through
seventy pitches three innings, and you know that's not too bad.
But Jason Junko came in pitched four innings after him
gave up thirteen hard hit balls. It was just like
all these little fire emojis. It was just so many
hard hit balls. So he induced some weak contact. His
fastball looks as powerful as ever. I think there's a

(11:34):
lot of encouraging things here. They did only let him
go seventy so this is that really slow ramp up.

Speaker 1 (11:39):
Yeah, I was I was hoping for eighty five, Like
that's what I was being, you know, I know, whether
it's a little.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
Bit worse A week thought. We were kind of talking
like if you could go five, give up one or
two earned runs, go like eighty pitches, Like he just
got kind of stuck into innings. So we just I
want to monitor how the pitch mix and usage kind
of ends up working. But the fastball's up, that slider
looks good. He needs one other secondary to really take
over besides the sinker. But I think for all intentsive purposes,

(12:07):
like you should be pretty happy about that one.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Here you go, Chief Knockahoma, rest of Seasons, Strider or Perez.
Who would you rather have? Well, she.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
I'm gonna sayer too, but like I'm just let's just
say it, one, two, three, Strider, Like I don't, I'm
not sure how confident I feel about this. I need
like two or three more starts with Strider to see, like,
is this velo thing gonna keep going? Is he getting
He threw the second worst fastball velocity wise of his career,
and the note I saw was the slowest fastball he

(12:38):
ever threw was because he slipped. And then his last
start he threw the second slowest fastball. So not only
has the stuff of it not been good, but the
velos down, He's just I don't love it.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
Shout out to debast Node first time chatter here. We
love seeing the first time people here on the channel.
If you've got some questions to you could drop him
in later in the show. We'll try to get to
a couple tomorrow on YouTube on Wednesday four Cloalk Eastern Joe,
Rico and this Joe. We're gonna take your questions while
she has a day off. He's got a dentist appointment.
I believe that's what's going well.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
I didn't have the day off, but I think I
might also be off leading off tomorrow too because of
my scheduling snaffoo. But yes they do.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Oh no oh. Who will tune in tomorrow? Who will
be with the Welsh and Joe will.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
Be the Joe and Joe show?

Speaker 1 (13:22):
Lots of Joe and Joe, but also a sidebar note too,
Denzel Clark want to catch? Can we just stay that?
That was right there?

Speaker 2 (13:31):
Like there's a lot of like verbose conversation around it.
It was incredible, and I think he missed an opportunity
if you didn't see so Denzel Clark times jumps up,
comes over the wall, catches it, goes on his back.
The opportunity he missed he should have fallen over because

(13:51):
I think it's into the water or something that would
have it would have been everywhere for all time. I'm
just saying little missed opportunity was like, I.

Speaker 1 (14:00):
Don't know, baby doesn't like to swim.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
I don't know, so I don't know.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
I wouldn't want to get wet if I was playing,
If I was a baseball player in my full uniform,
the last thing I want to do is fall into
a pool. I can tell you that.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
Well, I don't know to your point, if you saw
Josh Naylor last night walked off for the Diamondbacks after
they I mean, I don't know. If you have this
in here, you might. I haven't looked, but last night
bad news, by the way, could be for Justin Martinez.

Speaker 1 (14:24):
Justin Martin, it's in there. Nice to know that you
look at the show sheet that I well, I just
didn't see that slave over every morning for an hour
six am.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
The crap out of the game go into extra innings.
Josh Naylor walked off with a grand slam, and then
Perdomo came over, dumped him with water and kept doing it.
I've never seen someone more not into it and unhappy.
Did not look like he enjoys this.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
Like the Adrian Beltray head tap when people used to
tap his head knees again, Josh.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
Naleer did not look not even like jokingly upset, shamuinely upset.
But what I wanted to ask you real quick was
a in the catch world, like where do you think
that lands on you? I know it's a big like like.

Speaker 1 (15:05):
The Jim Edmunds on. The Jim Edmunds one going backwards
is still the diving backwards one is the one that
because I just the perspective of that. It's one thing
to climb the wall, it's another thing. The Gary Matthews
junior catch when he was with the Texas Rangers, when
he climbed up the wall and went way over. The
nd Chavez catch against the Cardinals and the playoffs, that's

(15:26):
one of the all time great catches because that's also
again to me, sometimes it matters to like what's the circumstance,
Like that was a catch. It saved that game temporarily
before the Mets chose circumstance. Also, that was an incredible catch.
But I think the Edmunds ones, the Edmunds catch is
so stunning because I don't think people realize how difficult
it is to do what he did. It's one thing
to track a ball, go up a wall, catch it

(15:47):
and time it. It's another thing to run straight backwards
and catch it like you're catching a football. That's nuts,
Like that is nuts.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
Okay, So then how about of this year? Because you
also had that var show one where he fell down and.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
He caught the Clark's better, I think, okay, what does
the chat say? Put it to the chat, Huck Finn fourteen.
Thanks for re subbing here with Pram. We appreciate you.
What's the best catch of the year? Is a Denzel Clark?
Is it a different one? Is it Varshow let us
know we know what one comes to my.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
Mind too, is one of the best, and I think
you absolutely nailed it. By the way, circumstance is important.
I think of that Adam Jones catch in the WBC.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
That it just now was a good one.

Speaker 2 (16:25):
Sure, it's just like I don't know that was one
that came to my mind, but somebody.

Speaker 1 (16:29):
Said the bo Jackson won. But the Bo Jackson one
isn't the catch. It's what he does after the catch,
which is run up the wall in Yankee Stadium and
then back down it. Because he's running so fast that's
the only way to slow down is to run up
a wall and back down it like it was nothing.
Like it was just BoJack Bo Jackson is the most
incredible athlete I have ever seen, probably will ever see
any of us who got the privilege to watch him

(16:49):
play any sport. My god, Bo Jackson was special. Like
that was the arm, the power of the strength, the determination,
everything off the charts. Let's get the transactions. Nick Kurtz
got activated. Yay, that's good rookie. Lookie, Ian Seymour, we
just talked about yesterday. Well allowed one run, a zero
earn though over two innings on Monday and got his
first win in relief. Congratulations in your major league debut,

(17:12):
Ian Seymour. We love that. We love to see it. Also,
fun fact here I was talking about the Pirates before Welsh.
The Pirates are undefeated since the Steelers signed Aaron Rodgers
over the weekend. So I don't know if you want
to take anything out of that, and he don't, but yeah,
I know he said that to Bogman. You like that
one ers. Oh god, I'm trying to think of other

(17:35):
great catches though, Which one comes to your mind first?
What someone is great catch?

Speaker 2 (17:41):
Well, you kind of like sparked them. The first was
Jim Edmonds was like the number one when I think
of like really greats catches that come to mind. Adam
Jones and the WBC came to my mind when you
said the Indie Chavis. I remember the Indie Chavis one,
being like.

Speaker 1 (17:53):
Indy Chavi was really awesome. It was unbelievable because of
the moment, because that's the ballgame there, and he goes
up and he his arm goes all the way, like
his arm is so deep over the wall to bring
that back, and the timing of that jump, and he
had such long arms too, so it was just an
incredible extension and timing and everything. Only to have Carlos
beltram that bum strikeout looking to Adam Wainwright, God, just

(18:20):
swing the bat. It's three two baitses loded. Swing the bat.
I'm still bitter about that. It's like two thousand and five,
I'm still.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
Bitter about it.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
Two thousand and six, two thousand and six, I'm still
bitter about it. In two thousand and six, I'm still bitter.
I can't remember what year with three up and three down,
Aleandro Kirk four for five with a homer, two doubles
for him. Jose Burrios didn't get a lot of strikeouts,
but six and two thirds of shutout baseball against the Cardinals.
Jake Mengem four for six with two ribbies the Downs,
though Pete Fairbanks gave up two runs hitting a third

(18:51):
in that Red Sox game. Blue a Sa Brian Beayo
in that same game, charged with four runs in that one.
And Reyes Hoskins. Let's talk about it, Welsh. We said
he's a streaky play. We put him on the trade
video a couple of weeks ago. We said trade Reese Hoskins.
Hope you lissen. This was I think three weeks ago.
Ree Hoskins struck out all four times. Yesterday against the
Braves was Chris sale. But whatever. He's also four for

(19:13):
twenty six with no extra base hits this month, as
ops has fallen from eight forty nine to sevent eighty nine.
That span. Your thoughts on the Reese Hoskins implosion, We
kind of saw it coming, Welsh.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
Well, I mean, i'd say you not me like I,
but it's always who wanted to sell him up. But yeah,
I know what. We both agreed that he's streaky, but
we took different paths. You were the one that wanted
to sell off. I haven't really wanted to. I'll be
honest with you. I still don't think I like really
want Like, I'm okay if someone wants to buy him,
But why would someone want to buy him for a
decent price when he's performing bad in June? He hit

(19:48):
three hundred in April. He hit two seventy in May,
which is still encouraging. His strikeout rate is still lower.
What I really love is he's hitting solidly against both
rightis and lefties even in some of these early struggles
that are going on. But he is streaky, Like you know,
it's the thing that we kept talking about if you
can't stomach it. But first base is weird. You said
it on the show yesterday. You're like, well, you know,

(20:10):
like who else is there out there? As you're losing
first baseman and you're losing corner infielders. I still think
Hoskins is like, okay, he's still hitting two sixty one,
even though he's you know, absolutely abysmal this month. But
I haven't been the selloff one. You know, you look
right right now because he's definitely like and.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
I would buy right now. I'll turn it around because
he will turn it around. This is the Reese Hoskins
experience where it goes. We talked about the Burials experience Sep. Five.
This is the Hoskins experience. He will have a red
hot week or two and then be stone cold silent,
and you just have to either again season long rodo

(20:50):
you just sit and hope that the end of the
year everything is fine. But you also have the option
of benching him in the meantime, playing a guy like
Nick Kurtz, if you have him on your roster or
somebody like that until he gets right, or if you're
in these situations where you know now you're looking for
a bat, right, like now's the time to buy Hoskins
when he goes out four for twenty six stretches, Because
that's as good as he looks sometimes as bad as

(21:11):
he looks others. He's never going to be what you
wanted to be, which is a guy that you look
up and you go, what a great overall season he had.
There's always something where like, man, it's a little disappointing.
Why was it a little disappointing? Oh, I know why?
Because there's two or three stretches in the year where
he just goes ice cold.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
Yeah, if you just come to terms of like he's
a two if he can be a two fifty hitter,
like there's gonna be ups and down. So IF's hitting
three hundred and two seventy h you're gonna come back
down to earth. And I think it just balances like that.
By the way, one other just extra down I want
to throw in here because you don't have it on
here is I believe Ryan Helsley blew his third save,
so straight.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
Save, so he's not losing the job. That's why I
didn't put it in there, because like he ain't losing
that gig, He's just not There's still there's.

Speaker 2 (21:56):
I mean, they need to trade him if if they're
not going to compete, but.

Speaker 1 (21:59):
They are constraint saves, they are competing. I don't know
they're competing and they have no alternative. That's I thought
about putting it in there, but again, they're not.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
Going to be competing if he keeps staying in the
closer role. Right now, he can't do it here. There
are these hoskins of June for save.

Speaker 1 (22:14):
So I can't read this and see you do it
at the same time. But I would love for you today.
I think it will put you in a chipper mood,
I want you to act out to the best of
your abilities. This Kaisa treks read all the way through

Speaker 2 (24:42):
I loved micromachines when I grew up. Poo, who's the microm.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
John micheetah, useless information for a thousand, that's the name
of the don't ember got a commercial microchines? They're gonna
lit just talk really fast.

Speaker 2 (24:53):
I don't at all. But I remember micromachines.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
How do you remember micro machines? But not the commercials?
Like you know what you are a little young.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
I was like, hey, mom, before you get them micro machines,
could you break down who this was? Who did the voice?

Speaker 1 (25:03):
No? But like you know the commercial? Do you not
know the commercial for micro The.

Speaker 2 (25:06):
Guy was a member of Micro Machines. No.

Speaker 1 (25:08):
Yes, the fact that I know his name so quick
is impressive and sad. I don't know why it suck
in my head because I thought it was really cool
that that guy could talk so fast, and then I
figured out who he was.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
No.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Mom before I played with my Ninja Turtles, could you
please break down who created Ninja Turtles.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
The voiceover he Man, g I Joe Transformers. By the
time Ninja Turtles were a thing, I was a teenager
already and that was it.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
Like, yeah, you're much older than me, exactly because I
I was like, I love micro Machines, Ninja Turtles, and
then like X Men figure like that was my thing.
I wasn't really a g I. Joe or he Man
anything like.

Speaker 1 (25:44):
He Man while I was very young.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
Big, You've got a long history. You really love your
toys to just like be almost naked with just a
little bit of shorts. You like your hen like your
huge muscle, you like your toys.

Speaker 1 (25:56):
Yeah, Big, clearly, clearly I have a type. Yeah, all right,
let's go to the injuries. Bryce Miller back on the il.
Uh So there you go, Logan Evans are gonna come
back three and one with a two way, three e
RA and six starts. So look, Logan Evans been okay.
He's not gonna light up the radar gun or the
statlog but Era has been pretty good and he's pitched okay.

(26:17):
What do you think about this? Bryce Miller though, well
that could are bad.

Speaker 2 (26:21):
Yeah, good pointe not great.

Speaker 1 (26:24):
I am happy about Corbyn. Carrol though he did it
a home run for me yesterday, So you did get
a momb did get a bomb from him. Ryan Weathers
goes on the I l with a left flat strain
and so that was fun while it lasted. Was that
like three starts that he have?

Speaker 2 (26:36):
I thought it was his head he got the catcher
threw it at his head and he got that.

Speaker 1 (26:40):
I saw it too, But that's called a bad day
at the office. He got vacation. Is that? I think
it was ramirous, wasn't it who threw the ball back?
He was throwing the ball to second base. It hit
weather hard. No, he was throwing down a second, I know,
And it wasn't just like he just threw down the
second and it hit Weathers square in the head and
it was just aful and then he got.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
I was so sad about it was like, there's something
to me. If you ever see someone get hurt but
then they're like in a really it would be like
if I got hurt right now, like really good mood.
Weather's like was walking off he threw it. He had
that swagger like he's like got through my pitch and
he just for whatever he's walked that way. He's just
like little almost like Rick Flair. He's like whoa and
then just bam right in the head and fell over

(27:23):
and you were just like, oh, he was so happy
like two seconds ago, and then you just got bang
bang by Ramirez. It was brutal.

Speaker 1 (27:30):
Yeah, I thought it was, though I don't think he
called that the latch chain because of that. Did he?

Speaker 2 (27:36):
I don't know, I did.

Speaker 1 (27:37):
I just saw that clip on the internet and then
I saw the Weather's news. I didn't connect anything necessarily,
so I don't. I don't know. Maybe I doubt that's
the case. I'm sure it's something else. But the worst
part is it goes right to the sixty day. You know,
he's done, Like.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
They didn't even wait.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
They will right to the sixties. So that means all
of June, all of July into August. Maybe comes back
and make a couple starts in September. Maybe. So. Justin
Martinez exited yesterday with right elbow tightness. A question is
can the Diamondbacks get a two for one special on
the Tommy John surgeries.

Speaker 2 (28:12):
Welsh elbow soren is not good. He had to come
out and then it was Jeff Bingham who immediately blew
the game. This isn't great at all. His velo went down.
He's already been he's already missed some time. I think
this could be another devastating injury for the Diamondbacks.

Speaker 1 (28:30):
Yeah, they just keep getting kicked in the nuts over
and over again. All right. The Dodger Boys, the boys
in Blue. Blake Snell schedule throw a bullpen session today.
So is Tyler Glass now. So we'll get you information
on that tomorrow. And Mitchihan I tried to stash him
in my home league, but somebody beat me to it,
targeting four innings in his next minor league rehab start
for Triple A. So that's an interesting one. Michael King,

(28:52):
who's been out with a shoulder issue, remains shut down.
So it's a nervesh on his shoulder. There's still gathering
medical information on it. That does sound very good. If
you have Michael King, I think it's time to panic
here officially.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
A doctor, Why do you not they don't know anything.
They're just like, yeah, I'm not really sure.

Speaker 1 (29:07):
We don't we don't even know what's going on here.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
You should probably know.

Speaker 1 (29:10):
Oh, I know, I'm not really sure. I'm not really
a doctor.

Speaker 2 (29:13):
I just think I'm very concerned about that with Michael King,
because it's one of those where it feels like they're
just waiting for him to wake up and feel good.
Like you don't have any type of like process going
to like an infrared sauna or something like figure something out.
Like they don't know what's going on. And I would
be very concerned as a fantasy owner because you have
absolutely no timetable, because this could be worse.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
I think this is very bad, very bad. I'm just
telling you right now. The fact that there is no plan,
the fact that there's no information, the fact that it
it's not like, oh I feel really good, let's get
like none of that. There's no Whenever there's radio silence,
it's bad. Typically, So just saying make plays.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
I just don't think there's going to be any future
costicating of it. It's just gonna be like one day
they're gonna be like, oh, he's feeling good now in
isser and throw session, he's gonna go out and that's
gonna be it. Like we're not gonna have a ramp
up of like all right, here is the timetable. This
is how it's going to work. They're just gonna be like, nope,
he's good now. Now we'll start the rehab process.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
Speaking of rehab, Max Scherzer is going to make a
rehab assignment on Friday, or so, he says. We'll see
how that goes. Hopefully he'll buy everybody snacks like he
always does in an iPod or something. Chowta in Monaka
is rehab getting moved up and Welsh. That brings us
to today's best bets of the day with Joey p
and the Welsh. Yesterday obviously did not do well with

(30:37):
the Marlins bets, so I got to bounce back here.
The other ones are okay, but let's go with Tampa
on the money line. Pepio against Lucas Gilido, who has
been an absolute gas can. Pepio has been pretty solid,
so I know his numbers against the Red Sox. It's
arguingly haven't been great, but Pepio has been really good
over the last six starts or so. I think you
can get a quality start, get them to the w

(30:57):
I have faith minus one sixteen is that money line
right now? Also give me Cincinnati on the money line too.
The whole Terry Francona returning to Cleveland storyline was fun yesterday.
I want to double down on it. I think the
Reds are starting to click a little bit. Find something here.
Abbott on the mound two agains CHACONI I like Abbot
this one. You're getting plus money two plus one hundred,
so I like that one. And give me the Yankees

(31:18):
to dominate the Royals of the money line with Max
Freed minus one and a half on the run line.
I'll take that at minus one twenty five. That's the
best way to make money on the Yankees today against
Noah Cameron on the other side for the Kansas City
of Royals. So Welsh, where are you going for your
bets for today?

Speaker 2 (31:33):
But right before I do, you just blew past it.
I just wanted to mention not only did Showta throw
throwing session rehab whatever got moved up. He pitched yesterday.
That's what I was meant to be talked about. I
just want to point out he went two innings, struck
out four, gave up no hits. But he threw yesterday.
It was supposed to be today. That moves up the
timeline and it was a really good outing for everybody

(31:54):
if you care about Shota. All right, my best bets
of the day, Let's go with the Houston ash We're
going with a run line minus one point five. Two
reasons we like it. We like going up against the
White Sox. Really at any time, that's gonna be the
big happy place. But also Lance McCullers. Lance mculors has
been pretty dang good high strikeouts. I think he's gonna
maintain this offense. I think the Astros offense, even though

(32:16):
Shane Smith has had a really good two point four
to five ERA, they're gonna get to him. Astros win
by two runs and that's plus money. We're gonna go
with our next bet, Tampa Bay first five money line
is the play here. So if we if there are
you know, no runs at the end of five or whatever,
we're gonna push. This is purely a going against Lucas Gielito.

(32:37):
Lucas Gilito has been absolutely atrocious. He's got an over
almost six and a half ERA. It's an over six ERA.
Pepio's around three right now through the first five. Even
though this is in Boston. I have no trust in
Lucas gi Alito, so I think Tampa Bay can get
some runs scored in there and Pepio can hold him down,
and then finally we're gonna go Washington and Mets. We're

(32:58):
gonna go under three and a half runs through the
first five. The usual is four and a half. The
total run line is seven point five. You've got Gryffin
Canning and mckinzi Gore on the bump. It's plus money
because I think four is that nice, easy, great number.
But I think both of these guys are going to
shut down. Mckinzi Gore has just been an absolute monster

(33:18):
all season in the strikeout market. I think Gryffin Canning
has been really great as well. I think these guys
are going to hold it down through the first five.
So are going under three and a half innings for
plus money, and those three are my bets of the day.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
For the record, I think Welsh's approach to the Gilito
Pepio game is the right one, that's better than mine.
Chare up on the money line, take the first five,
don't let the bullpen screw you in the back end there,
and of course take every other opportunity you can over

home run board. See where we're at right now, Walkee
Penguin's still holding true at twenty one thirty for George
finally got there. I am at Where am i I'm at?

Speaker 2 (34:21):
You're eighteen and I'm at nine.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
You're at nineteen.

Speaker 2 (34:23):
Yesterday catchupell did not hit one, So yeah, I'm at nineteen.

Speaker 1 (34:27):
You're at eighteen two more, two more For me? The
question is can I get it? The Sammy Sosa jersey
up for grabs? You can go call home run yourself
on our discord fantacypros dot com slash chat. That's the
place to be. The jerseys from Pristineauction dot Com. I
am going with Junior Caminaro against Lucas Giolito today. Kevin
Arrow's having a renaissance. Let's go in a little ballpark.
Come on, let's go give me Junior Cameron aarrao to

(34:49):
go yad today in Boston. How about you? They are Welsh?
Where are you going for your home run? Call?

Speaker 2 (34:54):
Oh, let's go Schwarberfest. Well, I don't feel like we've
had Schwarbrofest.

Speaker 1 (34:58):
Lock In he's been terrible in June. And no Harper
on the you know right now with that lineup, no
Harton Harden.

Speaker 2 (35:04):
We'll see Colin Ray three and a half. You already
he's given up some homers. Let's uh, let's hope Kyle
Schwarber is support and make able today and we have
a little bit of Schwarberfest fund. So that's gonna be
my home run call to see. Really my next challenge,
this is my only challenge left. See if I can
get back on the board. Not gonna win, not gonna
hold it. I want to see if I can get
back on that board and one good day, because that's

(35:25):
the challenge you legally.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
I don't think we're allowed to win. I don't want
to like make you upset.

Speaker 2 (35:28):
But yes we can. I'm taking that jersey and holding
you were gonna break the bat last year, you were
gonna I was.

Speaker 1 (35:36):
I was just being a heel. I was looking back
at the Fantasy Pros consensus rankings for pitchers going into
the year. It's fun when you look back at it. Now,
what a disaster it is. So Schoogle Skiing's wheeler okay
at the top, uh, Gilbert Hurt, Crochet Sale okay fine.
Reagan's yeah, been a spotty season for him with health,
Cordin Burns out for the year, Dylan ceeses under perform,

(35:58):
and Blake's now out. Yellamota has been good, Valde has
has been good. Michael King he's on the IO. I
don't if we're gona see him again. Otani hasn't thrown
a pitch yet. De Grama has been pretty good for
the most part. Pablo Lopez out for two months, Imanaga
is still on the IL. Logan Web has been great,
Glass now gone still, Aaron Nola gone still, Bryce Miller gone,
the Spencer Schwellenbach Uh, just like it's kind of crazy

(36:21):
just to go through these ten or Bibey's been disappointing.

Speaker 2 (36:23):
Max Freed to Moore spinning early pitchers is not a
great gee.

Speaker 1 (36:26):
If only a show was screaming that from the rooftops
over and over again. But it's not. Max Free to
twenty four great return on investment. Castillo more on him
with the trade show. We're recording that after the show.
Freddy Parol did twenty six, he's been solid, Spencer Schreider
still figuring it out, Ober Ryan Hunter Green back on
the IL. And then at thirty one was Hunter Brown

(36:47):
the thirty first pitcher, right ahead of Zach gallon Milwaukee.

Speaker 2 (36:51):
Wonkey loved Hunter Brown.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
As did I her and I very very pro and
in the Black Book, I was very pro Hunter Brown
on there. But it's just crazy. And then you get Gallon,
Sazaki justin Steele. What a disaster. Oh my god, guys,
stop drafting pictures early. It's just not no Leno, it's
not good. All right, we're gonna head out. We got
more videos to record. Keep an eye out for the
trade video buy and Sell coming at you later today.

(37:15):
That'll do it for us, but the story of the
game goes on for the Welsh. I'm Joey p. We'll
see you next time. Kids.
