This week on Something Ain’t Right, we take a deep dive into the latest batch of "Wait, what?!" headlines, starting with the month-old city of Starbase, Texas—Elon Musk’s personal sci-fi experiment, home to SpaceX, and now the site of a zoning ordinance that could strip residents of their property rights. Because nothing says "Welcome to the Future" like a billionaire casually rewriting land laws.
Then, in a plot twist no one saw coming, the Taliban—yes, that Taliban—has slammed Trump’s executive orders for being too oppressive. That’s right, the group known for banning music, education, and basic human rights is now calling out Trump for imposing restrictions on people. When they think your policies are too harsh, it might be time for some self-reflection.
Meanwhile, the Proud Boys are suing the United States for $100 million in restitution. Because apparently, attempting to overthrow the government now comes with a cash prize? We just wonder if Attorney General Pam Bondi will Venmo the fascists directly or make them wait for a check.
And in her never-ending quest to be the worst person, Representative Mary Miller (R-IL)—who once said "Hitler was right about one thing"—is now losing it on social media over a Muslim speaking in Congress. Because nothing says "totally normal behavior" like publicly melting down over religious diversity in a country founded on religious freedom.
Finally, something seems really wrong when a federal prosecutor resigns over concerns that the DOJ was pursuing a criminal case against Kilmar Abrego Garcia for political reasons. When even the people inside the system are waving red flags, you know we’ve entered deeply unsettling territory.
If it makes you pause, shake your head, or scream into the void, it belongs on Something Ain’t Right. Tune in—we’ll unpack the nonsense so you don’t have to.
