O Fronteiras no Tempo: Giro Histórico em seu 37º episódio traz, na voz de Anderson Couto, a história de uma revolta popular do século XIX que possui muitos paralelos com o nosso tempo, mas que é pouco conhecida: a Revolta do Quebra-Quilos. O governo imperial promulgou uma lei que alterava as unidades de pesos e medidas no país, mudando os padrões do modelo inglês para o modelo francês (que usamos até hoje). Este processo foi marcado pela disseminação de desinformação que levou a insurreições populares em diferentes cidades brasileiras contra as medidas imperiais.
