You're listening the Fox Sports on everybody.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Hope you're enjoying your Sunday.
Speaker 3 (00:06):
Man, this guy was a dud the last two games,
but he is a stud right now we will get
into that. We are broadcasting live from the tirack dot
com studios. Tierrack dot com will help get you there.
An unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free road hazard protection,
and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tirack dot com the
way tire buying should be. The Beard George James Harden.
(00:31):
He was fantastic in game one with forty five points,
struggled badly in the next two games, five for twenty
eight collectively from the field. But today twenty one points,
five assists in the first half, zero turnovers, as the
Sixers still have.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
A lead the early going in the third quarter.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
They're only up by nine in the first half, George,
and they played like they would have had a fifteen
point lead, maybe around.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Twenty only up by nine. So the Celtics sticking around
right now, just.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
Sticking around, but the Sixers in control as we speak,
early going in the third quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
How you doing, my friend, everything good, bro.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
I am about eighty percent recovered from the last two days.
Uh huh at Disneyland.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
Oh man, it's funny you said that because I just
went to Disney World on Monday.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
So and I'm recovering as well.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
Like it'll it'll beat the stuffing out of you, basically
is how unfold.
Speaker 4 (01:32):
I got a question for you. So I officially became
a pin trader.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
A pin trader? Yes, what's that?
Speaker 4 (01:45):
Have you not been to Disney and see the people
with the pins on? Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:50):
No, well I know what you're talking about, but no,
I'm not a pin trader myself.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
Yes, I'm I officially just I was, uh, how do
you call it? Indoctrinated into the pen trading? I embraced it.
Speaker 3 (02:07):
I yeah, I'm in okay, So UH break it down
for me. What'd you trade like Mickey for I didn't.
Speaker 4 (02:17):
I didn't trade any yet. I just bought some, so
I can't trade, okay. And of course I cannot just
get regular pins like I have to find a way
to find limited edition pins. Okay.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
So what's the collection looking like right now?
Speaker 4 (02:33):
We're looking solid right now? Like I have eight I
have eight pins, and uh and I found a way
to find a one of one fifty.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
One of one fifty. That's rare.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
Yes, what is it? It's of Mickey. So there's these
mystery sets and you pull like you don't know what's
in them except for like, you know that there are
ten total possibilities, right, but you like, you know that
(03:08):
there are ten total possibilities. But if you pull one
that's not in the possibilities, then you know that it's
a one of one fifty.
Speaker 2 (03:18):
You know what.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Now here's the thing. I like where you're coming from
here with the pin trading and all of that. I
just have one question for you is if if let
me pick a Laker, if Lebron, if Lebron was going
off the same way that James Harden is right now,
would we be talking about pin trading.
Speaker 2 (03:39):
I just want to know that.
Speaker 4 (03:44):
I don't even know what James Harden is doing.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
I just saw me get at three, got twenty nine. Man,
he's five for six from three from the field. The
man is eleven of fifteen.
Speaker 4 (03:57):
Fine, I mean that's I mean, it's about it's about time.
He took the last two games off, so he should
be rested now now. But the thing is I called this, bro.
I called this I was like, he will he will
have a good game and then he will vanish again
in five, six and seven if it gets that far.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
So what's the deal with your man, Anthony Davis. We'll
do a two pronged attack over here, little Sixers, little Lakers,
because your man Anthony Davis has had the roller coaster
ride going on as well.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
He was fantastic last night. No show in game two.
Speaker 3 (04:33):
I don't know what it is with the even numbered games,
but not good in the previous season series either against Memphis.
But up and down with the Brow over there? What's
up with the Beard and the brow lack of consistency?
Speaker 4 (04:45):
No, no, those are those are two different people because
James James Harden has a this is his This is
not even his reputation. This is who who he has
shown us. He is like that, like we've seen this
for a decade, where he'll give you some good playoff
(05:07):
games and then he will vanish. Dude, he will go ghost.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
Well, that's true.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
You don't know what you're getting, which version of a
d or which version of Harden you're getting, but it
is the good Harden today and they need it because
if Philly goes down three to one, it's a rap.
If there was a huge win for the Lakers last night.
Anthony Davis had a big role in that one, as
the Lakers won by thirty points. So I would I
(05:36):
would expect energy Cloud nine like what happened at Disneyland
for you.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
Anything crazy, no, bro, I mean it was just it
was a good day. Well, actually it was a Friday
and a Saturday. I walked like almost twenty miles in
two days, I believe him. Near walked a mirror thigh,
I believe it. And my body was aching. I had
(06:04):
to come home. When I got home, I had to
get on the Norma Tech, which are those black sleeve
things that you see like the the players wearing after
after the games, where it goes from their thigh from
their basically from their waist all the way down to
their feet.
Speaker 2 (06:22):
From the waist to the feet.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
Yeah, I'm trying to think of it's kind of like
a what like the it's sort of like a sleeve
for your legs type of thing.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
Yes, except for it inflates and it squeezes all the
lactic as it out and it helps you recover nice.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
So you did a little squeeze that helped, and now
it's just a calm Sunday.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
For you here at your reister household? Is that what
we're working with?
Speaker 4 (06:49):
Absolutely? Hey, do you know how funny did this is?
I know that when I when I tell you this,
you are gonna absolutely laugh, right because when when I
first came on and we were talking right until about
a minute ago, when I looked at the clock, I
was like, damn, how long before the show starts? And
(07:13):
I totally forgot we were working right now. I was like, Oh,
we're just we're just over.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
Here, just we're just catching up.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
Yeah, yeah, just catching up.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
No, there are other people that can hear this, George,
other people are in on this conversation here, buddy. Yeah,
But I'm glad that everything's well. Disney World was fun.
So we were on the opposite coasts and you were
at the pin trading. I'm recovering health wise, but all
is good. All is good over here. Your Lakers are
(07:45):
up to one. That's nice.
Speaker 4 (07:47):
Yes, dude, this, honestly, this series has been like my
son playing my nephew.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
Your son playing your net That's what it's been like.
Speaker 4 (08:01):
Yes, yes, dude, it has been. It's been so painful
for me to watch because I love the Warriors right,
love the Warriors. However, the Lakers are my squad. H
so like so like, I love my nephew, but I
but but if it comes down to my son or
my nephew, unfortunately, you know.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
Yeah, I know, it's it's closer blood, you know, with
the sun. You shouldn't be conflicted at all. If you're
a diehard Laker fan. Man, screw the Warriors. I don't
care if you've enjoyed watching them while the Lakers have
done nothing for the better part of the last decade.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
You know, except for except for a championship.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
Except for the fake Bubble championship.
Speaker 3 (08:44):
I know, I know it, but yeah, but for the
better part of the last decade, they've done nothing. So
I can see how you have grown a fondness for
the Warriors. You got to leave that at the door. Man,
Your squad's in this thing.
Speaker 4 (08:55):
Yeah, yeah, dude. And I have said, the team that
wins this series is hoisting the Larry O'Brien Trophy.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
I don't know about that.
Speaker 4 (09:07):
Yes, the winner of this series will have a championship.
I would like.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
Today, I'd like to put a steak on that immediately,
put a sta on it, put it on that stake
bet yep. Okay, So putting it in a stone right here,
I am saying the winner of this series will not
go on to win a championship this season.
Speaker 4 (09:29):
Yeah yes, actually actually I should. I should get odds
on that because because you get the entire field, so
so this should be a two to one steak bet.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
Hey man, the bets already set. I don't know what
to tell you.
Speaker 4 (09:45):
You know, I would like to amend the terms of
the up the deal.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
Wait a minute, how many times if you go to
Vegas and you lock in a bet, how many times
do you think if you said, you know what, let
me let me switch things up here just a little bit,
and they're like, oh yeah, sure, switch you know, they're.
Speaker 2 (10:02):
Like no, no, no, no, no no.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
Well as soon as you put it, put it in,
they immediately. If if you're like no, no, no, no, no no no,
that's not what I said, then then they definitely will.
But but are you cool with the mending that bet? Uh?
Speaker 3 (10:18):
Yes, I will. For you, my good friend, George Reister,
I will amend that bet. Fair is fair. I'm getting
more teams. I don't think the Warriors in good faith.
I don't think the Warriors have a shot.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
Really here.
Speaker 2 (10:29):
They can't win on the road. Their defense stinks.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
They can't they wait, hold on, how can you say
they cannot win on the road when they literally beat
the Kings twice on the road.
Speaker 2 (10:40):
They beat a King's team that plays zero.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
Yeah, but I thought the Kings were just so young
and and just it was there. I do. I do
remember somebody being all excited. I know they were.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
You put my feet to the fire, you put my
feet to the iron, said who's winning this first round series?
And I said, you know what, the Warriors might squeak by.
And You're like, I need a prediction. No, And I'm like, yeah,
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
Could go either way. It's a close one.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
The Warriors pulled it out, but goodness, that was a
seven game you know, fistfight over there.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
That was not any decisive win by the Warriors.
Speaker 3 (11:22):
Now in the Lakers, look, man, they've played a lot better,
but they're gonna run out of gas.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
I think know that's the case.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
No, I don't. This is a team do they or
do they not play good defense?
Speaker 3 (11:35):
They do play good defense at times when Anthony Davis
is having a good game, you know, yeah, when Anthony
Davis is on. He is flat out nasty.
Speaker 4 (11:46):
Hey, hey, hey, I think people for the last month
have really been getting getting a taste because they forgot,
apparently that Anthony Davis was that guy, you know. I
mean that that they were like, oh, he's on the
seventy five greatest all time. And mind you, I did
think for what they have done so far in their
(12:06):
career that Dwight Howard deserved to be in over Anthony Davis. Okay, However,
when you look at Anthony Davis's talent and the stuff
that he does, when this dude is on, good God, bro,
I mean, how many players in the history of basketball
are better than that? I mean, if we're being honest, Well.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
That's the thing is when it's good Davis, there are
not many that are better. But when it's inconsistent Davis
and he's given you eleven points like he did in
Game two, and you're like, bro, what is going on here? Like,
that's the thing. It's no one's knocking his talent. He's
one of the most talented players in the league. It's
his lack of consistency that's the deal with him.
Speaker 4 (12:50):
I mean, it's a guy who's averaging like like twenty
five and twelve. You know that that sounds pretty consistent
to me.
Speaker 3 (12:58):
Well, but it isn't like his But the thing is
good Dad, it's up down. It's as wide ranging as it.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
Expectations, though, are different than like the like the bar
is different for him. Prime example Lebron James. He's had
twenty one points, he had twenty one points in game one,
twenty one points in game two, and people are like, oh, listen,
(13:25):
he's not He's just playing though He's has had like
twenty one and eleven and twenty one and twelve, and
everybody's like, ah ah man, he's he's falling off right now.
He's he's not the same guy, hear me. Well, yeah, yeah,
it's because the expectation for him is different.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
Well, I just think with ad if he's giving you
somewhere near whatever his average is what you said there
twenty five and twelve.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
If he's given you one game.
Speaker 3 (13:54):
You know, I don't know, twenty six and eleven, and
then the next game is twenty four and you know
what I mean, like it's okay, then he would be consistent.
He's not like his first game he was outstanding. What
do you have thirty and twenty three, Like that's insane,
and then the next game it's eleven and seven, and
(14:14):
then last night he's back up twenty five and thirteen.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
It's just up down. He's the seesaw. He's the teeter
titter of the NBA playoffs.
Speaker 4 (14:22):
Anthony See. Now, I would disagree with that only because Okay,
so like, yes, some of the actual stat things. But
if you go back to the first round of the playoffs,
he had twenty two and twelve in Game one against
the Memphis Grizzies, which was a win. Then they and
(14:43):
then he lost in Game two, and then they lost
in Game two, and then in Game three he came
back with thirty one and seventeen in a win. Now,
I don't believe that you can count these games and wins,
where like he had twelve an eleven against Memphis in
an overtime win, and then he had thirty one in
(15:06):
a loss, and then he came back way at thirty
one and nineteen and a loss. Then he came back
with sixteen and fourteen and five blocks in in a win.
So it's not always the number of points, it is
his literal impact on the game that is not always
you know, big, because the Lakers have gotten wins when
he scored twenty two, when he scored twelve, when he
(15:28):
scored sixteen, and lost when he scored thirty. So it's
not just indicative of the points, it's literally his energy
and impact on the game, which is more important than
the actual sheer volume of points.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
That sounds like a Laker perspective. Breakdown right there is
what it sounds like to me.
Speaker 4 (15:47):
No, that sounds like a common sense perspective.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
I understand what you're saying. I get it.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
But look, well, wax poetic can compare notes on Ad
around the corner because there are some things I would
like to say about Ad that are positive, some things
that he does, especially on the defensive end, that do
not show up on the stat sheet, which I do
think he should get more credit for. So it's not
all negative with Ad here, but he's definitely been up down,
(16:16):
up down in terms of his production. Coming up next,
we got to turn our attention to this guy. Do
you buy his reasons or are they just excuses? I'm

(17:42):
Man Jason Tatum is finally woken up over here, George.
He's got fifteen points, twelve rebounds. Rough early going, he
had two points in the first half. That would be
it two points as he could not really make it anything.
But as we look up, Celtics on an eight oher run.
(18:04):
They're only down by seven here, So down down by
nine as the third quarter comes.
Speaker 2 (18:09):
To an end.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
Yeah, Tatum two points, one of nine from the field
in the first half, but uh put together a nice
third quarter drop thirteen points. So it still is anybody's
game here. Philly with a nine point lead, must have
game for Philly. Uh, they're in, They're they're in the
They're a nice spot to even the series here, but
(18:35):
uh still gonna make you a little uneasy with the
Celtics cheest hanging around, hanging around.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
Maybe they hit a couple of threes and make a
run in the front.
Speaker 4 (18:43):
They just went on an eight oh run. They just
went on an eight oh run, and and and all
an eight oh run is is is make a bucket team,
hit a three miss a shot team, hit a three
turnover team. Get a fouled and hit two free throws,
(19:05):
and now your ten point lead is now two, or
here nine point lead is now one. It happens that quickly.
I mean that's three trips down the floor. So and
I know that people are always like, oh, yeah, this
game's over, bro, this is an NBA game. There's the
reason why they keep their stars in when it's twenty
(19:27):
minutes to when it's twenty point game in a quarter. Oh,
because it happens.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
Yeah, no doubt, except for last night when the Lakers
were up by twenty super late. But I'm not disagreeing
with you. I'm just saying the Lakers were leading by
so much that it was white flag time for the Warriors.
That's how much the game got out of control. But
how about Draymond Green after the game here, George, do
you buy what he was saying or selling here? He
(19:55):
was selling that man, the refs, we got a raw deal.
Look at the free throw disparity. In his own words,
here's a little bit of what Draymond had to say
after the game last night.
Speaker 4 (20:07):
Guys had a pretty good lead in this early in
the second quarter.
Speaker 1 (20:10):
Then everything just seemed to stop.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
What do you think happened the.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
Line every time, all right, Lakers on the free throw
line every time? George a little more from Draymond.
Speaker 8 (20:20):
They switched up the matchups a little bit to put
Reeves on staff.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
Yeah, we was getting to what we wanted to get
to in the game.
Speaker 3 (20:25):
Stop, game stopped, you know, whistle happy refs over it
and not spin it forward. Here he's channeling his inner
Phil Jackson, you know, sending messages to the officiating crew
through the media, see if it works out.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Here's another one from Draymond Gray.
Speaker 4 (20:40):
Is there a way you can get considering how they're
calling it, that you guys can get more free throws ourselves?
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
I think we're going to the realm, so I don't know.
Speaker 4 (20:53):
Maybe we can, Maybe we can.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
We'll see George the way I see it.
Speaker 3 (20:57):
I'm curious what you think, too, is if if you
want to talk about the series going forward and you're
trying to campaign for the whistle. Okay, I get that
he's not the first player to do so, he won't
be the last player or coach to do so.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
I get all of that.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
But if we're just dissecting Game three and making it
all about the officiating. The Warriors lost by thirty man Like,
it can't be all about the officiating if you get
blown out like that.
Speaker 4 (21:25):
Okay, here's the reality of situation. For two straight games
one and a win one and the loss, the worst
shot the lights out. In game one they made Clay
step and Jordan Poole all made sixty three pointers and
(21:45):
shot over fifty percent, and the Lakers as a team
made six three pointers. So and then in game two
they made everything they threw up again, shot fifty percent
as a team. From yeah, so at some point in
time the math stars mathing, right is that is that
(22:07):
even if you shoot well, because there's a difference between
a series and an entire you know, and an entire season,
because because you can get hot for an entire series,
but a team's not gonna shoot fifty percent on a series.
If they get hot, if they get hot for a series,
they'll finish this series maybe forty two percent if they
(22:28):
shot the lights out the entire series, Okay, forty two percent.
The Warriors could in fact go on a five game
series and shoot forty two percent. Do you believe that's possible?
Speaker 2 (22:40):
It'd be tough, I mean, yeah, capable yeah, yeah, be
very tough.
Speaker 4 (22:44):
Yeah, but it is. I mean, if that happened, you
wouldn't You wouldn't be like that's impossible. You you'd be like, damn,
they were hot as hell. But if they did that
for an entire playoffs, you'd be like, there's no possible
way because the math starts mathing. So you can do
it in a short term, but you can't do in
the long term. So so the Warriors at some point
(23:04):
in time were going to cool off just to get
to a reasonable absurd level of shooting. Okay, so this
was bound to happen. But when Draymond is talking about
these free throws, like, people aren't being honest about this,
So d the people who are complaining about it, Because
(23:26):
guess which team was dead last in the NBA in
free throws attempted in the regular season.
Speaker 3 (23:31):
I'm guessing it would be your Lakers. No, it would
be the Golden State who interesting. Okay, and guess.
Speaker 4 (23:37):
Which team attempted the most free throws in the entire year.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Well, I would guess it would be your Lakers.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
Now yep, yeah, yep, So the math starts mathing, So
you're telling me my first guess was as bad as
it could possibly be correct.
Speaker 4 (23:52):
Correct. So the Warriors, who were a team that went
when they were on their you know, dynastic run, would
be one of the leaders in the league in points
in the paint. They aren't going to the paint with
(24:13):
as much force as they used to. And you're dealing
with little guys who Anthony Davis is good at defending
without fouling, so they can so he can contest shots
without fouling and block shots without fouling. So that creates
a problem for the Golden State Warriors. They have to
(24:36):
defend without fouling.
Speaker 3 (24:38):
Well, that's the thing is Draymond makes it sound like
every foul was illegitimate, correct, and that's just not the case.
There are plenty of times that the Warriors are fouling
the Lakers who are driving to the rim. There was
a call that was reviewed and it was clearly a
blocking foul on Draymond.
Speaker 2 (24:58):
You know what I mean. So I get it.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
Draymond is gonna campaign for the next game or games
in this series, but you can't buy what he's selling here.
He's gonna make it sound like the officials it was.
Speaker 4 (25:10):
Some yeah, like it's egregious and man, the Warriors don't
get to the free throw line very much. It's a
it's a it's not even a question, it's a fact. Right,
If you are the worst team in the NBA in
terms of the amount of free throws that you shoot
over the course of a season, is it is it
(25:31):
you or is it the refs?
Speaker 2 (25:33):
Right, it's you, It's clearly you.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
So yeah, it can't be all about the refs if
the stats of the entire regular season don't back you up, right, Like,
it has to be that.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
And you mentioned it too.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
With Anthony Davis changing as many shots and really owning
the paint, the Warriors are gonna stick to what they
do best, which is shoot from the outside, right, And
they did a great job of that games one and two.
They did a terrible job of that in Game three,
but they took forty four threes.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
That's not a.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
Team that's just attacking the paint and not getting the whistle.
So the argument just doesn't make a whole lot of sense.
Speaker 4 (26:12):
Not even a little bit, dude. And I know that
people would just look at the raw numbers and like,
look at the amount of free throws. It's so wrong.
You're like, yeah, like you would you you would say
this if this were two teams that typically shoot a
lot of free throws or one doesn't shoot a lot
(26:32):
of free throws. But the reality the Lake the Warrior shot,
like you said, forty four to three pointers. The Lakers
shot thirty one, right. I wonder why because instead of
taking three pointers, do you know what they did?
Speaker 3 (26:47):
They attacked the rim and they took up They took
higher percentage twos for them, you.
Speaker 4 (26:52):
Know, yep, yeah, and then they just kept jamming it
inside with the lebron Jared Vanderbilt, Anthony Davis. They just
give it like okay, look, And that's the problem with
the Warriors playing so small in terms of their lineup
(27:13):
is small, and when you are trying to defend people
and you're smaller, what do you usually have to do?
You have to be more physical, And the reps are like,
that's a foul. Right.
Speaker 3 (27:31):
It's not the eighties or nineties where you could just
hand check. It's a different era in the NBA. So yeah,
I just think that to make it all about the
officiating last night, which Draymond did, it's silly for Game three, yeah,
but a little grace if he's campaigning for game.
Speaker 4 (27:46):
But it is what he's supposed to do that it
is what.
Speaker 2 (27:49):
He's supposed to do for sure.
Speaker 3 (27:50):
But it's just if you're buying this, and this is
what fan bases do, George. There isn't a league that's
synonymous with conspiracy theories more than the NBA. And it
just takes Draymond went off to three minutes.
Speaker 4 (28:03):
Think think about that. Whose fault is that about the theories? Yeah,
it's Tim Donneghe's fault.
Speaker 3 (28:11):
This was long before Donaghie too. These NBA conspiracy theories.
Oh gosh, it was non stop. But I'm just saying
it only takes Draymond to go on in a press
conference for three minutes for an entire fan base to
be like, that's right, we want to go.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
And it just got worse this week in Alabama it did.
Speaker 2 (28:31):
We'll get to that vetting scandal. We got to get
to one.
Speaker 3 (28:34):
Monzy Belanos, who's with us this evening flash afternoon?
Speaker 4 (28:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (28:39):
Is your back? I missed you last week?
Speaker 4 (28:42):
Monzi. Hey, you enjoyed watching the LA team play?
Speaker 9 (28:47):
Sometimes? Yeah? Sometimes not?
Speaker 4 (28:51):
Hey, Hey, there's plenty of room for you over your hea.
Speaker 9 (28:54):
No, I can't do that.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
Do that does George, just his endless trolling you on
Twitter or even the.
Speaker 6 (29:01):
Text at eleven pm at night. It's not even like
a hey, how are you? And I know did you like?
Speaker 2 (29:07):
Also, it could be the first thing you see on
your phone. Does it make you hate the Lakers more?
Speaker 9 (29:12):
Honestly? No?
Speaker 6 (29:13):
No, no, you know I get a lot of Laker
fans coming at me over the years, so it doesn't.
Speaker 9 (29:21):
I'm used to it, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
I laughing.
Speaker 9 (29:24):
Yeah, George makes me laugh.
Speaker 6 (29:27):
Like there's some people who don't make me laugh.
Speaker 9 (29:29):
He actually makes me laugh, so that helps. No, No,
it's all it's all funny and games. But I do
have a story about the Lakers.
Speaker 6 (29:37):
I read this today on Bleacher Report from Chris Haynes,
and it's really about social media because you know, A
d has been like hot and cold, hot and cold,
and like he's been criticized a lot, especially before Yesterday's
gamed so about social media. He's actually been off social
media for about four months. He said he doesn't go
on it, that it's all just click bait to draw attention.
Speaker 9 (29:58):
That he doesn't give up poop about anything.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
That's why I love it. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (30:02):
He also he's like says that basically he only listens
to the efforts in the locker room and the coaching staff.
Outside of that, he's not listening to anything. And I
guess while Chris Hanes was talking to a d Lebron
James was listening and jumped in on this conversation. And
he also said that he tells everybody to stay off
social media and that when you watch other playoff games,
(30:24):
to watch it on mute, play music in the background,
and that's how he does it.
Speaker 9 (30:29):
Interesting.
Speaker 4 (30:30):
I don't know if I could do that. Look, Lebron,
remember he used to pay too much attention to what
was going on on social media and then he had
to go zero dark whatever. He's yes, yeah, yeah, and
now look it has worked.
Speaker 9 (30:45):
Yeah for sure.
Speaker 6 (30:46):
I don't know if I could watch a game with
other background music and I could watch it in silence
sports bar.
Speaker 9 (30:52):
Yeah, okay, yeah, I guess you're right. I didn't think
of it like that. But when I went a sports but.
Speaker 6 (30:56):
I I got food, I got drinks, I got a
lot of things that I'm paying attention to.
Speaker 9 (31:00):
But I guess you're right, you got You're right, You're right.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
This is music. Would you choose heavy metal? Like George does.
Speaker 9 (31:04):
No, I'm gonna pick my Luma. That's what I'm gonna pick.
Speaker 6 (31:07):
Oo. Guy's gonna be like who he's a Colombian artist.
Speaker 9 (31:11):
Columbian artist. Yeah, yeah, he's awesome. Anyway. Anyway, guys, this
game is closer, but it's still kind of boring. I
was talking to Bow and Sam. I was like, why
is this game a little bit boring? It kind of
is the bote.
Speaker 3 (31:23):
We need one more Jalen Brown rebound to cash here. Okay,
so maybe that adds some pizzad does.
Speaker 6 (31:29):
Oh my gosh, I hope he gets it. I'm I'm
rooting for you. But Philly is up on Boston. Ninety
two to eighty six is a score with less than
nine minutes to go.
Speaker 9 (31:38):
In the game.
Speaker 6 (31:38):
James Harden has really come to life in this game.
He's eleven of sixteen to five of six from the
three point line.
Speaker 9 (31:44):
Specifically, he leads all scores.
Speaker 6 (31:45):
With twenty nine points, but MVP Joel and beat us
twenty eight points.
Speaker 9 (31:49):
This is Game four. Boston does lead the series two
to one.
Speaker 6 (31:52):
On the ice, It's Game three between the Hurricanes and
the Devils for the Stanley Cup Playoffs sixteen minutes to
go in the third period, and the Devils are beating
the Hurricane six to two.
Speaker 9 (32:00):
Carolina leads this series two to one.
Speaker 6 (32:03):
In Major League Baseball, the White Sox are all over
the Reds fourteen to four is the score. Bottom of
the fourth inning. Marin is shutting out the Astros to
zero bottom of the fifth. Nationals and Diamondbacks tied at
three apiece bottom of the fifth as well with the Rangers.
They took the lead over the Angels eleven to sixth
bottom of the fourth, Birds beating the Giants five to
(32:23):
two top of the sixth, and the Marlins and the
Cubs are about to start the bottom of the thirteenth
inning in Chicago. Marlins are up four to three. Blue
Jays all over the Pirates seven to one. Top of
the ninth inning. They are playing in Pittsburgh. Back to
you guys, Thank.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
You, Manti.
Speaker 3 (32:40):
I would love to know what the longest game is
since we've had the ghost runner on second base to
start extra.
Speaker 6 (32:47):
Innings and today we've had a lot of extra inning games.
Speaker 9 (32:50):
Actually, yeah, because.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
You don't see him going to the thirteenth not very often.
Speaker 4 (32:55):
No, it's called the California tiebreaker and I love it.
Speaker 2 (32:59):
The tiebreaker.
Speaker 4 (33:01):
Yes, man, if yes, where do you where do you
think this came from? Slick? It came from Little League.
It came from Little Little League because when you're because
when you're playing in tournaments and they're starting to go long, huh.
They they don't want kids having to play so many innings,
(33:22):
especially when you are, you know, in a tournament setting.
So so that's how they came up with the California
tie breaker. I like it. Yeah, you know what.
Speaker 3 (33:32):
Baseball purists hate it. I'd be lying to you if
I said it wasn't entertaining, because it is. It is entertaining.
I don't know how many times when they first started
doing it, we'd go to the tenth inning and I'm like,
oh man, it might take forever now, and they start
the tenth and there's a guy on second base. I'm like, oh,
hold on, hold on, we got to stead up. Yeah,
let's see how this unfolds. We got a lot to
(33:52):
do here. We need Jalen Brown with one more rebound here, George,
He's not gonna end with three rebounds today, right No.
Speaker 2 (34:00):
No, no, okay, good. I like the confidence right there.
Speaker 3 (34:03):
Uh, we're coming to you live from the Tirerack dot
Com studios coming up next. According to Monsey, we'll have
some fun with that segment. It's one of my favorites.
I'm Brian know, he's George Reister. Keep it locked right
here on Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian, No, he's George
Reister here on Fox Sports Radio. Oh man, we've got
a close one over here is Philly clinging to a
(34:26):
two point lead against the Celtics.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
Weird guide. Uh it is all yeah, baby, yes, ge.
Speaker 4 (34:39):
There's nothing I love more to watch it.
Speaker 3 (34:40):
James Hard lose bro Jason Tatum has sixteen rebounds. All
I need is for Jayalen Brown to have four.
Speaker 2 (34:49):
He's three. Can Tatum just stop rebounding one time? And
one to Jalen Brown.
Speaker 4 (34:56):
After he can get him a cheap one at the
very end of the game.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
Man, oh man, all right, we got to dive headfirst
into this thing. It's according to Monzie, let's do.
Speaker 1 (35:05):
It correct and now it's time.
Speaker 9 (35:09):
For absolutely that's break.
Speaker 1 (35:12):
According to Monsie, I love it all right.
Speaker 3 (35:15):
According to Monzie, Jimmy Butler has been the best player
in these.
Speaker 9 (35:22):
NBA playoffs, no question about it. And nobody's even really
talking about him, and I don't understand.
Speaker 6 (35:29):
I'm wearing my Jimmy Butler's shirt today that Bo already loved.
Speaker 9 (35:32):
And jumped on the train because it's so awesome. But
Jimmy Butler not only.
Speaker 6 (35:36):
Has been so consistently good for the Heat, because we've
seen a lot of stars during these NBA playoffs have
a good game, been a bad game, a good game,
been a bad game.
Speaker 9 (35:46):
Butler has not done that.
Speaker 6 (35:47):
He is single single handedly carried the Heat past the
best team during the regular season, the Bucks, and now
he's gonna get them past the next And I say
single handedly because Jimmy Butler, to me, plays as the
only superstar on the Heat.
Speaker 4 (36:01):
Bam superstar.
Speaker 9 (36:03):
Fine, fine, all right, don't even find you don't think
he's a superstar.
Speaker 6 (36:06):
Okay, he is the best player and he has no
other superstar around him to help him. Bam Madibayo is great,
he is a star, but he doesn't have another player
that let's say Bam got traded to a different team
that wouldn't shift the odds that bad.
Speaker 9 (36:18):
You know what I'm saying.
Speaker 6 (36:19):
He has no other player while we have like or
Kevin Durant hasn't.
Speaker 9 (36:23):
Been that great.
Speaker 6 (36:23):
But Devin Booker has been really good for the Suns.
He's been consistent. But he has k d right next
to him. He had Chris Paul, he had DeAndre Aid.
Jimmy Butler is literally doing it alone. He's playing against
great defensive players. Giannis was hurt, but come on, brook Lopez,
he wasn't your runner up for the best defensive player
this year. Drew Holliday know he's to be a good defender.
He's doing it against good defenders. He got hurt, he
(36:46):
stayed in the game. He is shooting fifty six percent
from the field throughout these playoffs, forty percent from the
three point line. He has been the only consistent.
Speaker 9 (36:54):
Superstar because I think he's a superstar.
Speaker 6 (36:57):
That we have seen during these NBA playoffs is literally
carrying them.
Speaker 9 (37:01):
I love him.
Speaker 1 (37:02):
Go Jimmy Buckett, according to Monsey.
Speaker 4 (37:07):
According to Manzi, she doesn't know who was more tacky,
the San Diego Padres or Jared Vanderbilt.
Speaker 9 (37:16):
Oh yeah, both so tacky.
Speaker 6 (37:19):
Jared Vanderbilt has a salary of more than four million
a year and he's being called out by an employer
at sas employee I think is the right word.
Speaker 9 (37:27):
At Sacks for buying two thousand dollars.
Speaker 6 (37:30):
Worth of clothes that he wore for Tuesday's game against
the Warriors, pictures taken posted on social media. La la la,
and then four days later returned the clothes. Absolutely not.
Speaker 9 (37:41):
I don't care.
Speaker 6 (37:42):
Don't tell me that you did this with your prom dress.
Speaker 9 (37:44):
That is fine.
Speaker 6 (37:45):
Are you making four million a year? Probably not. Also, Jared,
nobody's telling you to spend two thousand dollars. If you
think that's too much money, go to Target you could
look nice.
Speaker 9 (37:53):
Nobody's asking you to spend money. Super tacky. But the
Padres posting a crying meme.
Speaker 6 (37:58):
Of Clayton Kershaw after they beat the Dodgers on their
jumbo trons absolutely tacky. Should the Dodgers post on their
jumbo trons every single time for Nando tattoos junior bats
that he was suspended for PDS? Is that what we're
supposed to do in return? That was so tacky on
the San Diego Padres organization. If fans did it, that's fine,
But you did it on your jumbo trons.
Speaker 9 (38:19):
Sit down, Padres?
Speaker 2 (38:20):
What have you done?
Speaker 4 (38:21):
Super tech?
Speaker 10 (38:22):
Super According to Moncy, that is that exactly what the
Dodgers should actually do. To be honest with you, I know. Yeah.
According to Manci, let wander Franco field the ball with style.
Speaker 9 (38:33):
Listen.
Speaker 6 (38:34):
The backlash that he got for fielding that ball, tossing
it up in the air, and throwing the runner out
at first base was ridiculous. If you can't play in style,
don't get men that somebody else can. I told something
to Jason Smith and he was like, oh, I would
hate because now I have to tell my kids that
I'm a coach of that. You know, don't do that. Yeah,
tell them you're not good enough.
Speaker 1 (38:54):
You cannot do that.
Speaker 9 (38:55):
I don't understand what the problem is.
Speaker 6 (38:56):
Tell teens, tell college players listen. I know you saw
wonder Franco do that. You are not good enough, but
don't take it away from somebody that has the skill
to make the game so fun and so slick.
Speaker 9 (39:08):
You go, wander Franco most that ball up.
Speaker 4 (39:11):
Yes, yes, you nailed it, Mazi.
Speaker 10 (39:14):
That was That was one of the coolest things I've
seen anybody.
Speaker 4 (39:18):
So awesome.
Speaker 6 (39:18):
Yes, I loved it, And people were like, no, this
is bad.
Speaker 1 (39:22):
Down Crawd.
Speaker 10 (39:24):
Yeah, you knew that was gonna be the reaction as
soon as you saw it, which sucks.
Speaker 9 (39:27):
It was so silly.
Speaker 1 (39:29):
Oh well, I have.
Speaker 9 (39:29):
To now tell my kids that I coach. Don't do that. Yeah,
you're not good at it.
Speaker 4 (39:33):
You know what somebody said to me. They were like
all the baseball periods. I was like, ah, that's fine,
they're all dying anyway. Looks fine.
Speaker 2 (39:43):
Let me one thing. If the guy was safe, right.
Speaker 9 (39:47):
Thing right, and then his next step bat he hit
a home run. So tell me exactly where the problem
was here.
Speaker 3 (39:51):
Yeah, now I'm with you on that one. We might
have to circle back on that whole Jimmy Buckets thing. Yeah,
it didn't sound like you were. You were a seal
of approve on that way. Also, coming up next, this
story is flat out awesome.
Speaker 2 (40:05):
We'll have details for you.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
Keep it locked.
Speaker 2 (40:08):
Boy, oh boy, do we have drama down the stretch
in this Celtics sixers game.
Speaker 3 (40:14):
Oh baby, it's a close. One hunder thirty seconds to play.
Celtics up by two. We are broadcasting live from the
ti rack dot Com studios. Tire rack dot com will
help get you there an unmatched selection, fast free shipping,
free road hazard protection, and over ten thousand recommended installers.
Tirack dot com The way tire buying should be. So
(40:36):
to get bring you up to date here, how about
this George PJ. Tucker, He had a big put back
and got fouled. Who was a three point play to
tie it up at one oh five apiece?
Speaker 2 (40:49):
Then uh PJ. Tucker giveth and taketh.
Speaker 3 (40:52):
Away a careless foul uh filed Marcus Smart who was
setting a screen. Smart goes to the free throw line.
They were in the bonus. He cans two of them,
Celtics up by two. We're in review mode right here,
so we're seeing what happened with embid. Looked like the
shot touched the rim. So it's gonna be the sixers,
ball twelve on the shot clock with about twenty eight
(41:16):
seconds left here and this is this is Doc Rivers'
job on the line right here.
Speaker 4 (41:21):
God yes, God yes, I mean, but but somebody else
will will hire him next anyway. He's he is like
he is the exception to all rules like that. You know,
it doesn't matter how many three three ones happened, It
doesn't matter what the hell is going on? Doc Rivers
(41:43):
getting another job? That is GARYL.
Speaker 2 (41:45):
Garonteed, Yeah, which year was it?
Speaker 7 (41:49):
Was it?
Speaker 3 (41:49):
The eight Celtics who want it all. I always get
it confused if it's eighth nine. But that was oh
nice little runner by Harden to tie it up. We're
deadlocked at one O seven with fifteen seconds remaining. Okay,
now here's the game plan, George. I don't care what
(42:09):
happens as long as Jalen Brown gets a rebound. All right,
So that means Jalen Brown gets a butt back and
the Celtics win. Great, whats going overtime and.
Speaker 2 (42:19):
The Sixers went?
Speaker 4 (42:20):
Fine?
Speaker 2 (42:21):
What happened?
Speaker 3 (42:21):
Jalen Brown needs a rebound. Okay, that's what we need
over here.
Speaker 4 (42:25):
Of course, God, of course Marcus Smart doesn't make that
shot good.
Speaker 2 (42:32):
We need five.
Speaker 11 (42:34):
Rebound good, come break Philly's heart.
Speaker 2 (42:40):
I worried when you said that.
Speaker 3 (42:42):
I didn't know what you were rooting for in that
moment when Marcus Smart tossed up the three, I'm like,
based on your reaction, I didn't know if he hit
it or missed it.
Speaker 2 (42:51):
So this is good news.
Speaker 4 (42:52):
God, Jason Tatum, I don't care what happened. You must
take that shot. You must take that shot, oh God,
even though it was wide ass open. Dude, yeah, he
like he could, like he was as they as they say,
he was naked out there like it was nobody was
anywhere close to him. How close was the closest it
(43:15):
defended him far? Fifteen feet?
Speaker 2 (43:17):
It was far. He was wide open.
Speaker 4 (43:19):
Like yeah, they were like, Jason Tatum will not shoot
this ball. I would have rather Jason Tatum had taken
that floater over embad than than to pat kick it
out because he was so much closer. And I just
don't feel like that that's a shot that that he makes.
I feel like that's a shot that Jalen Brown makes.
(43:41):
I feel like, you know, you know what. I feel like,
that's a shot Malcolm Brock died mixed.
Speaker 2 (43:46):
Just no faith in Mark is Smart.
Speaker 4 (43:47):
Huh, it's not. I'm just in that particular moment that much.
No our Horford makes that shot or can so I
should say he doesn't for sure make it, but he
can make it. Brock did and can make it. Jalen
Brown can for sure make it, but and of course Tatum.
(44:10):
But that's not a shot. That's not a shot that
you get out of out of Marcus Smart.
Speaker 3 (44:16):
Been a weird game for Jason Tatum. Nineteen points, eighteen rebounds,
and six assists. But he hasn't made a three. Yeah,
it's been strange. You only had two points in the
first half. It's been an all around odd game. Manzi
was just saying this last hour where she's like, man,
this this game doesn't have a whole lot of juice
(44:38):
right now, and man, they just maybe they heard that,
and all of a sudden, it's just juice city right now.
Where it got crazy dramatic. In the fourth quarter, Celtics
had it they were trailing by nine.
Speaker 4 (44:49):
Loses this game. Oh, they're gonna lose by twenty twenty
five in the next game.
Speaker 3 (44:54):
Oh, so Boston was trailing by nine entering the fourth quarter.
They all of a sudden, they go, they're out scoring
Philly something like twenty two to eight somewhere around there
in the fourth They've got the lead.
Speaker 2 (45:06):
Philly's got a scratching claw just.
Speaker 3 (45:09):
To get to even and they avoid a Marcus Smart
made three and we're in overtime over here. This has
got really good, man, really good. Can we get Jalen
Brown one rebound?
Speaker 4 (45:22):
Bruh, I thought that was a shoe in. Yeah, he's
not getting anywhere near.
Speaker 3 (45:27):
Dude, how many times do you see him just parked
in the corner. It's like, Jalen, you don't have five fouls,
you know.
Speaker 4 (45:35):
And I'll tell you this overtime actually favors the Celtics
in terms of the series because Joe Joel Embiid he's
tired as hell right now, tired, and we know Harden
ain't in the best shape in the entire universe. So yeah, yeah,
So the longer that these games go to, deeper that
(45:56):
they go this definitely favors the Boss's Celtics.
Speaker 3 (46:01):
I'll tell you one guy who's fresh is Maxi, and
he goes in for a layup and the Celtics up
by two. That's a guy that never seems to get
tired is Tyrese Maxi. Yep, but I want to see
what the stars do. You're right, Jason Tatum ties it
up here. But uh yeah, Embiid, these are the moments here.
He's the MVP.
Speaker 4 (46:21):
If you've noticed, he hadn't he wasn't able to score
at the end, and in the fourth quarter they kept
trying to give him the ball. He's got no lift, nothing.
Speaker 3 (46:31):
Well, I just want the same standards and expectations that
are applied to Jokic to be applied to Embiid.
Speaker 2 (46:38):
That's only fair.
Speaker 3 (46:39):
I mean, I get it where it's like, hey, Jokic,
back to back MVP, it's go time, let's see it.
Last game it wasn't a loss, but he was the
first NBA player in postseason history to give you at
least twenty five fifteen and fifteen. He went for thirty,
seventeen and seventeen. That's absurd. So these are the moments.
Philly's down to one and Beid's gotta cook, just has to.
(47:03):
He's the MVP, though, should be the expectations.
Speaker 4 (47:07):
Now, you are right about that. However, however, though the
only difference though is is that is that yo Ki
is getting this heat after winning two MVPs already. You
see what I'm saying, Yeah, Whereas whereas this is in
Bead's first one and so next year he would be
(47:30):
deserving of all of that heat and all that smoke.
Speaker 2 (47:33):
But think about the heat that Jokic got with no
Jamal Murray, and it's like, oh okay, cool.
Speaker 4 (47:39):
It wasn't getting any any heat, dude. That was like
cupcake time. That was cupcake time compared to the heat
that a lot of the other NBA players get.
Speaker 2 (47:52):
Bro, this is what he is embiid gotten.
Speaker 4 (47:56):
None none, zero, because I'm not an MVP either.
Speaker 2 (48:01):
He's not, and he just want it and b just
yes and.
Speaker 4 (48:04):
You get the heat the next year. I would not
this year, I would a microwaveable heat. Hey hey, he
said micro I want instant heat. I want all the
smoke immediately. It's that's the way it turn it up
from turn it up from one to inferno.
Speaker 3 (48:25):
Hey man, remember when Dirk Novitski won m v P
and they got bounced in the first round and they
had to give him the m v P and like
the closet somewhere.
Speaker 4 (48:34):
Yeah, and then the next year he was on and
he was on an absolute inferno. Bro he was and
the and they won the championship.
Speaker 3 (48:44):
But my point is that was microwaveable heat. That was instant.
Speaker 4 (48:49):
It wasn't. I mean it is to It is bad
optics for the m v P to get the award
while he's sitting at at a home though.
Speaker 2 (48:58):
Oh man, that's brutal.
Speaker 3 (48:59):
I do love that they brought back the the commissioner
giving the MVP trophy to the MVP during the postseason.
That's way better than the stupid award shows at least
for that. It doesn't work for the NBA. No, And
it's like, there's no secret who's.
Speaker 2 (49:14):
Gonna be named MVP, and and then you have this
award show way after the playoffs. It's just stupid. So
I like that they went back to the old form.
Speaker 3 (49:23):
Oh, Tatum, you it was Brown's rebound and he's sting.
Speaker 9 (49:30):
Hey, he's hating the rebuilt.
Speaker 4 (49:33):
I love it.
Speaker 3 (49:34):
My goodness, Jason Tatum has gotten greedy with these rebounds.
Speaker 4 (49:39):
Here.
Speaker 3 (49:39):
He wants a he wants a twenty twenty game over here.
Good lord, can we get Jalen Brown to four rebounds?
Speaker 2 (49:46):
Can that happen?
Speaker 4 (49:48):
Maybe he's down? He had that was there.
Speaker 2 (49:58):
I love it, dude, watching you sweat?
Speaker 4 (50:01):
Is this rebound for the last two thirty is hilarious?
All right? How much is on this rebound?
Speaker 3 (50:09):
Oh, it's not gonna make me rich or anything. I
would say, it's uh, it's the it's about a steak
difference right here, roughly, you know, nothing major, but yeah,
it's the cost about it.
Speaker 4 (50:21):
He hasn't gotten a rebound in the last oh my god,
twelve minutes in an entire quarter.
Speaker 3 (50:29):
It was going into the fourth. He's been stuck on three,
since I can't remember, like midway through the third something
like that.
Speaker 2 (50:36):
Wow, that's been rough.
Speaker 4 (50:39):
That means he ain't even trying to get to the rebound.
Speaker 3 (50:41):
And meanwhile, the vacuum cleaner that is Tatum in this
game is just eating up rebounds. He's doing a shock impression.
So yeah, this is pretty wild. Celtics do have a
one point lead two minutes to go. Man, we got
high drama over here. I love this. This is what
the playoffs are all about, man, Embiid Yeah, blocking Fox.
(51:06):
Oh they called offense.
Speaker 2 (51:07):
Yes, we have a review here, get a review it
they have.
Speaker 4 (51:11):
It is absolutely a charge, bro.
Speaker 3 (51:14):
Yeah, oh no, they called it and one they gave
him the end one. That was a weird uh signal
from the official right there because it looked like he
initially called a charge.
Speaker 2 (51:29):
So that was strange that.
Speaker 4 (51:32):
That should absolutely be a block, I gotta admit, because
he came up underneath them.
Speaker 3 (51:37):
Yeah, and he looked like he was moving to the
right just a little bit also, so.
Speaker 2 (51:42):
Yeah, embiid.
Speaker 3 (51:43):
So the last two buckets from Embiid, I would have
been nice if he missed the first one because Brown
was right there for the rebound. But in any case,
he made the last two shots go to the free
throw line, have a chance to have the Sixers up
by two. So man, he got high drama over here.
How about this too in a game that Jalen Brown.
I'm sorry that Jason Tatum has struggled so much in
(52:07):
for Philly to be scratching and clawing here is it's
pretty wild.
Speaker 4 (52:10):
Oh wait, hold on, they called it a charge. They
called it a charge, and now they're so.
Speaker 3 (52:17):
Maybe it was just the Philly fans were because I
was so confused. They were high fiving. They gave him
the bucket. On the graphic, he's moving to the right
on that. That should be overturned. If they called it
a charge, it should be overturned. That should be And
one that how you see it?
Speaker 4 (52:34):
George, ooh, I don't that's tough. Now. I see he
was outside the restricted area.
Speaker 3 (52:40):
But look at smart he's moving. He's moving to his right,
he's not there. I think that's an end.
Speaker 4 (52:49):
One. Yeah, it's that's good D. Bro like, that's just
good D. Like that he's moving.
Speaker 2 (52:57):
Look at his left foot is completely moving.
Speaker 4 (53:00):
Where we're watching it in micro second time, there's not
enough to over this is not clear and definitive evidence
over turn it one, no way down down with Philly.
Speaker 2 (53:17):
You are just a Philly hater over here, That's.
Speaker 4 (53:19):
All I'm not. I just know I'm committed to my
stance of Harden not being a a a championship player.
Speaker 10 (53:29):
I might have to take away your Laker fandom. If
you're going to sit here rooting for the Celtics, have
a positive outcome on home, then.
Speaker 4 (53:34):
Hold hold on, hold on, bo Benson, I am not
rooting for Boston as much as I'm rooting against Philly,
and and then and then we will go for the
Miami Heat in the next series. Actually, actually no, no,
I would rather Boston play the Lakers in the finals
(53:55):
and the Lakers win because, uh that a championship beating
the Uh beating the Celtics is just more sweeter. Yeah,
I like to rip people's hearts out, bo. I want
them to like, I want Celtics fans to be like, yeah,
we're gonna win, We're playing oh Lebron, and they'd be sad,
(54:15):
crying in the car again, just like they were last year.
They win though too.
Speaker 2 (54:20):
Call up hell, Oh.
Speaker 4 (54:21):
My gosh, call up hell.
Speaker 2 (54:22):
There was a charge love it. According to the officials.
Speaker 4 (54:25):
Good job, refs way to have some scruples, buddy. Don't like,
as Bill Rafferty would say onions.
Speaker 3 (54:33):
I don't like it. His left foot was moving, his
body was moving to the right. Don't like the call
being overturned like that. But what I do like is
hopefully Jaylen Brown getting a rebound over here?
Speaker 11 (54:44):
You know, can we get him hard for him to
the balls in the bottom.
Speaker 4 (54:48):
Of the rim? Oh? It was absolutely was hey, hey,
but can we talk about uh out or for putting
Joel and Bead in jail?
Speaker 3 (55:02):
Though I mean sometimes he has you can't exactly say
he's been putting him in jail when and Bead's going
for thirty.
Speaker 10 (55:12):
Oh, what.
Speaker 4 (55:16):
Are you serious?
Speaker 3 (55:18):
Did you just see what happened? Let me explain it
to everybody listening over here. So the ball was tipped
to Jalen Brown, who would have had his fourth rebound
on a hardened miss three, and they called al Horford
for just tying up Joel embiid, is that what you
mean by putting him in jail, which is just like
(55:39):
giving him the naked uh the what do they call it?
The rear naked choke hold? Is essentially what he just didaked.
Speaker 2 (55:49):
The last rebound I needed. J Brown stole it.
Speaker 4 (55:54):
You had a foul, you had a repound, and then
it got just and then you got d ah.
Speaker 2 (56:01):
This is just this painful over here. Okay, here's what
we're gonna do it. Can I do take you so quick?
Speaker 4 (56:05):
Time of watching Joel and be following the ground on
jump shots, bro it is.
Speaker 3 (56:11):
We're gonna regroup and then when we get back, we'll
have a group celebration following Jalen Brown's fourth rebound of
the game. That sound like a plan. Sounds like a
bland to me. Also, an absolutely awesome story. No matter
who you root for, I don't know how you don't
find this story to be beyond cool.
Speaker 2 (56:32):
That's on the way.
Speaker 3 (56:33):
I'm Brian though, he's George Reister, coming to you live
from the tire rack dot Com studios.
Speaker 2 (56:38):
It is Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian.
Speaker 3 (56:40):
No, he's George Reister here on Fox Sports Radio, coming
to you live from the tire rack dot Com studios.
Speaker 1 (56:47):
Holy cow.
Speaker 3 (56:48):
So it's over in Philly as the Sixers somehow, some
way pull it out one sixteen to one fifteen. So
the drama at the end, Jason Tatum, he hit a
three to give the Celtics a two point lead in
the final minute. Little push off on Tyrese Maxi, no call,
(57:13):
Tatum drains the three. What happens next trip down the court?
James Harden, who was just sensational. He hits a three
with eighteen seconds left, great challenge by Jalen Brown, Harden
still drains the shot. So now Philly's up by one,
eighteen seconds to play, no time out for Boston. Joe
(57:36):
Mizula says, play it on out, Fellas, and what happens.
Marcus Smart ends up with the rock at the very end,
tosses it up, nails the three. And I don't know
how you felt, George, but Live, I'm like, I think
that's good. And then they showed the replay It's like
it wasn't even close to being out of his hand
on time, no bucket. Philly wins by one and no
(58:06):
rebound for Jalen Brown if you were scoring at home.
Speaker 4 (58:09):
So god, how did they find? First of all, I'm
mad at Joe Missoula. He should have called time out
when they didn't get started in the action early enough.
And that was the second time, so you let that
happen at the end of regulation. And then Jason Tatum,
(58:33):
instead of creating his own shot, tried to find a
way to create a shot for a teammate. You did
that last time, pal, Now it's time for you to
go be the dude. Yeah, that was my issue with it.
I just can't, dude. I had to turn off the television.
Speaker 2 (58:50):
But how about James Harden forty two.
Speaker 4 (58:53):
He was fabulous. He was fabulous, he was good, he
was clutched, he made the game winning shot. It was
great after two stinkers, he better had come back with
a game like this after he no showed back to
back games. But we'll see what happens when when he
goes back to Boston he might disappear again.
Speaker 3 (59:17):
Well, you know, I'm telling you it's similar to the Brow,
the Beard and the Brow, a little up and down,
a little inconsistent. But when James Harden has been on
in this series, he's had two masterpieces.
Speaker 4 (59:29):
But was in his history though I know he's good
for the first four games, like he's typically pretty good,
and then five, especially six and seven, Oh oh, it
is a he might as well. You might as well
call him David Copperfield.
Speaker 3 (59:46):
After that, Well, it's been the wild swings for Harden.
Game one, no embiid right and Beid was out with
the knee injury. Harden goes off on the road for
forty five, including the game winning three with about ten
seconds to go in the Garden, and then, like you said, George,
he's nowhere to be found in games two or three.
He shot two for fourteen in game two, three for
(01:00:10):
fourteen in game three.
Speaker 2 (01:00:12):
Not good.
Speaker 3 (01:00:13):
But then today forty two points, nine assists, eight rebounds
and hits the three with eighteen seconds to go. The
two wins that the Sixers have in this series, James
Harden has hit the winning three both of them. So
that's huge. And the other part of this is the
(01:00:34):
story that's flat out awesome. So what James Harden did.
This goes back months ago. There was a die hard,
hardened fan, a guy named John Howe, and he was
a victim of the mass shooting on the Michigan State
campus and he got paralyzed from the waist down. And
so at the time, James Harden he facetimed this kid.
(01:00:58):
He gave him some game warn shoes and he said,
when you're healthy enough, I'm gonna get you to a
Sixers game, and so he made good on that. Today, George,
Game four, John Howe was there to watch Harden, and
then after the game, they brought him down.
Speaker 2 (01:01:12):
To the court.
Speaker 3 (01:01:13):
He took off his shoes, he signed him for the kid,
but he vowed to be part of John Howe's recovery.
And that is just that's an awesome story, man. There's
no you know, there's no critical I when it comes
to something like that. That is just cool and that's
being there for somebody else. And I think even if
you're not a hardened fan or a Sixers fan, you
(01:01:34):
can at least appreciate that Harden went through the trouble
to show some love to this kid. And then it
just so happens that he breaks out of a five
for twenty eight skid from the field the last two
games and he goes off for forty two on sixteen
of twenty three shooting and the Sixers get the win.
(01:01:55):
Like that's That's the thing about sports, George, is sometimes
if you went to the movie and saw that script,
you'd walk out like, this is stupid, man, this is
so over the top.
Speaker 2 (01:02:05):
That is literally what just happened today.
Speaker 4 (01:02:07):
No, no, no, it's not. We're in the same movie.
But you know what's next though, This is where you
figure out what the movie's really about, because either this
dude is going to come out and play well or
he's gonna melt down.
Speaker 3 (01:02:30):
Well, that's where it goes. That's the question, is where
it goes from here. It's great that Philly won this game.
They even the series up, but now it's the best
of three and Philly doesn't have home court sot at
worst or at best, they have to win one game
on the road, you know, so whether it's Game five
or seven, provided that they win their game at home
(01:02:55):
in game six, they gotta win one of those two
on the road. So it's it's all great today and
the storyline, especially coupled with John Howell and James Harden's
sensational performance, it's a great, great story. But spinning it forward,
Philly's got a lot of work to do and they
don't have home court against the team that was very
(01:03:16):
close to winning it all last season against the Warriors.
Speaker 4 (01:03:20):
Yep, definitely were definitely, definitely were, And so now you
can't like the Warriors last year were just too long
in the tooth, too much experience. Yeah, they were just
a good basketball team, youear mean, and it was just
(01:03:41):
hard for them to win and they were just too experienced.
And now the Celtics are a team that actually has
some experience. They're a team that has some experience. So yeah,
so there it is.
Speaker 3 (01:03:59):
Well, And that's the thing, man, is a lot of
these playoff games come down to these clutch moments. George
and Boston had two cracks at it. They had a
crack at the end of regulation where it was tied
and Marcus Smart had a great look from three, it
was short, they couldn't cash in, they couldn't take a
stranglehold three to one series lead. And then at the
(01:04:20):
very end, eighteen seconds no time out to start. I
thought you made a great point where they're late getting
into their actions, still don't call time out, and Marcus
Smart makes the three, but he didn't get the shot
off on time. And in both of those instances, Jason
Tatum is not the guy taking the shot.
Speaker 4 (01:04:41):
Yeah, And that was the part that actually bothered me. Now,
is that is that? Why on earth? Why on earth
would you be if you are Jason Tatum? Kay, the
first time passed the ball, the second time, you gotta
(01:05:03):
take that shot, bro, you have to take that shot well.
Speaker 3 (01:05:07):
And that's the thing is think about these series just
in clutch moments. You could say what you want about
James Harden. He's had a lot of stinkers in the
playoffs where it's just like bro that the season's on
the line, this is a do or die Game seven,
and he's nowhere to be found, you know what I mean,
Like it's happened before, But Harden has been absolutely clutch
(01:05:28):
in two games.
Speaker 2 (01:05:30):
He's hit the game winning shot.
Speaker 3 (01:05:32):
And look, Jason Tatum has had his moments, don't get
me wrong, where he's had strong, strong performances, but just
in terms of being clutch hitting the shot in the moment,
Boston has come up short.
Speaker 2 (01:05:45):
That's why we're deadlocked at two.
Speaker 4 (01:05:49):
And yes, so and so who do you think no
is going to win the rest of this series? The
last three three games?
Speaker 3 (01:05:59):
I still like Boss Boston has home court. I think
that overall they're the better team. But again, if it
comes down to these are the final few seconds you
got to make a shot. Philly has shown that they're
better at doing that than Boston is. So if the
series comes down to that, I wouldn't be stunned if
(01:06:19):
Philly ends up winning, But I think that Boston is
the better team, and I think with home court, they
will find a way to get it done. But there's
no doubt Philly's been better in those bigger moments though.
Speaker 4 (01:06:32):
Yeah yep, and but maybe it won't come down to
those moments.
Speaker 2 (01:06:37):
Am I not very well?
Speaker 4 (01:06:38):
Lay up and James James Harden, We'll see if he
can make those shots in Game five, Game six, in
game seven.
Speaker 2 (01:06:47):
I love it, Man Island.
Speaker 3 (01:06:49):
This dude just goes off for forty two and you're like,
let's see about the next couple of.
Speaker 2 (01:06:53):
Games over here? You know.
Speaker 4 (01:06:54):
I like that. I like it.
Speaker 3 (01:06:56):
It's uh, what you remember like the Muppets, Remember the
the old guys that were kind of like the haters
and the balcony. I feel like you're that guy when
it comes to James Harden going forward in this series?
Speaker 2 (01:07:09):
Is that fair? George? You know what I'm talking about?
You know the old guys on the Muppets that you
know what I'm talking about there?
Speaker 4 (01:07:15):
No? Oh yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes yes. Those
those two old dudes Statler and Wohldorf apparently are their
names over there.
Speaker 3 (01:07:25):
I could never remember that. Iowa Sam just told me
that our technical producer. Yeah, oh, Chris Purfett, little assist
right there.
Speaker 2 (01:07:32):
Very nice. Oh we got Mazzi belanyos Matzi?
Speaker 4 (01:07:35):
Are you? Are you.
Speaker 2 (01:07:38):
Aware of the the haters like the Hecklers on the Muppets.
Speaker 6 (01:07:43):
Yeah, I know who they are. But I didn't watch
a lot of Muppets growing up.
Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
No, not a lot of Yeah.
Speaker 9 (01:07:49):
I don't know. I don't know if Latinos were watching that.
Speaker 2 (01:07:52):
You know, I think I think in the yeah community there, you.
Speaker 9 (01:07:57):
Know, I don't think we were. I really I I
know that are.
Speaker 6 (01:08:00):
And you know, I know some of the characters and stuff,
but I truly do not remember that being part of
my childhood in any any way, shape and form. My
brothers were a lot older, so I was like listening
and growing up to things I probably.
Speaker 9 (01:08:10):
Shouldn't have been watching.
Speaker 4 (01:08:12):
Oh yeah, you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (01:08:13):
So I didn't.
Speaker 9 (01:08:13):
I didn't get the whole Muppets thing growing up. But
maybe it was Latinos just not watching that. I'm not sure.
I'm not sure. Uh, your boy Brown did not get
that fourth rebound? Oh, Jalen bron.
Speaker 2 (01:08:27):
Seat third rebounds.
Speaker 3 (01:08:29):
This is not me being greedy, you know, if I'm like, okay,
I'm gonna have Jalen Brown. He's gonna get eleven rebounds.
Now you're just being greedy. I needed four rebounds.
Speaker 6 (01:08:40):
I know, and then Jason Tatum has eighty a rebounds.
Speaker 2 (01:08:46):
I'm sorry, Brian, but the sad tag betting stag betting
betting will just troll you from time to time. It
was my day to be trolled by betting.
Speaker 9 (01:08:55):
Definitely, that's what it is. The seventy six Ers held on.
Speaker 6 (01:08:58):
I mean, at one point they were beating the Celtics
by sixteen.
Speaker 9 (01:09:01):
Boston tied the game.
Speaker 6 (01:09:03):
They went into overtime, but it was James Harden that
drains that go ahead three pointer and the seventy six
Ers take Game four to tie the series against the Celtics.
One sixteen to one point fifteen was the final score.
Harden ended with forty two points, eight rebounds, and nine assists.
Joel and beat MVP ended with thirty four points and
thirteen rebounds. So we'll see how this one ends, as
(01:09:25):
you guys say, in best of three. Now, from this
point on in Major League Baseball, this sucks.
Speaker 9 (01:09:31):
I just looked at the plane and I was like,
what did he do?
Speaker 6 (01:09:34):
The Marlins beat the Cubs five to four in fourteen innings.
At the top of the fourteenth inning, the Marlins scored
because they called a bock on the pitcher and that's
how they scored.
Speaker 9 (01:09:47):
And I just looked at the plane. I was like,
he isn't even flinch. She hasn't even moved. I don't,
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:09:52):
And the Cubs in the bottom of the fourteen fourteenth
inning couldn't do anything. So the Marlins won on that
win with the go ahead balk. That's so so weird,
just a weird way to end. The White Sox have
scored seventeen runs against the Reds Seventeen to four is
the score top of the eighth inning. The Rangers have
(01:10:12):
scored sixteen runs against the Angels sixteen to seven, top
of the seventh, Vers beating the Giant six to two
top of the ninth, marin As still up on the
Astros three to one, top of the eighth, and the
Diamondbacks are beating the National seven to five, top of
the seventh. On the ice, it was Game three between
the Devils and the Hurricanes and the Stanley Cup Playoffs
(01:10:33):
and the Devils one eight to four, but Carolina still
leads that series two to one.
Speaker 9 (01:10:38):
Back to you guys, thank you very much.
Speaker 2 (01:10:40):
Mata, Brian No and George Reister with you here on
Fox Sports Radio, coming to you live from the tire
Rack dot Com studios. You over there, whispering, George will Yes,
that's what I.
Speaker 4 (01:10:53):
Thought I heard.
Speaker 2 (01:10:54):
Yeah, yeah, the personal cheering section that was going.
Speaker 4 (01:10:57):
On over there.
Speaker 9 (01:10:58):
Yeah, yes, sometimes he's nice to me.
Speaker 3 (01:11:02):
He's gotta be nice to you sometimes. Otherwise if it
was just constant trolling, you would hate him.
Speaker 2 (01:11:07):
Yeah, you would absolutely like Salon just constant.
Speaker 4 (01:11:13):
So so, I don't know if you know, I've known
Ephraim for a long time because we played together.
Speaker 3 (01:11:17):
Yeah, you guys played for the Ravens for a second,
but no, you were literally he was left tackle your
tight end. You're block, You're like like combo blocking at
the same time.
Speaker 4 (01:11:28):
Yes, yeah, there there are some off or off air
stories that I have to share with you guys. They
are they are not for they are not for the Ray.
Otherwise me and probably gonna fight.
Speaker 2 (01:11:41):
Oh that's great.
Speaker 3 (01:11:43):
Do you have any like suitable four air stories of
I don't know, some some combo block you had and
you decleted some big name players something like that that
comes to mind.
Speaker 4 (01:11:54):
No, nothing, no, not not not with me and eat
from combined like they're like, I don't remember anything that.
I was like, damn, yo, do you remember when that happened?
He from Nope, nope.
Speaker 2 (01:12:08):
Uh. What's one of those moments for you in your
NFL career, George?
Speaker 4 (01:12:14):
I mean I didn't particularly love blocking, so yes, more.
Oh this touchdown pass I called on Monday night against
the Bengals, it was actually pretty epic jumped over a
dude because I'm and I noted that. You guys are like,
what the hell are you talking about, George? But if
you go back, so in college, I started jumping over
(01:12:35):
people and I was one of the first people that
that you would see jumping over people, like the hurdle thing. Yes, yes,
and all my team is George, stop jumping. My coaches
stopped jumping. You're gonna get killed, You're gonna get flipped over.
And no, I was just ahead of the curve. Bro
It was just ahead of the curve.
Speaker 2 (01:12:53):
It's common now you see that all the time.
Speaker 4 (01:12:55):
Yeah, yeah, it takes it.
Speaker 3 (01:12:58):
It takes is that what happened on that touchdown against
the Bengals you hurdled the.
Speaker 4 (01:13:01):
Guy, Yes, hurdled him then ran in for a touchdown?
Speaker 2 (01:13:05):
Who was the guy?
Speaker 4 (01:13:06):
Do you know? I got don't remember what year. Oh
and I did get in a fight on Monday night
against Joey Porter.
Speaker 2 (01:13:14):
How did that go?
Speaker 4 (01:13:15):
It was fun?
Speaker 2 (01:13:17):
D So was it a ten eight round advantage? Reister?
What happened in the fight there? I gotta know?
Speaker 4 (01:13:24):
It was just it was just some It was just
a fight inside the game. I don't think there are
any penalties. But but I did have a run in
with the SAP pregame, and I'll tell you guys about
that a little bit because we got bills to pay.
Speaker 2 (01:13:39):
Okay, I like that, all right.
Speaker 3 (01:13:40):
George just got a Warren Sap story and we got
a couple of responses here. Both are pretty cool. We'll
give you details on that on the way as well.
I'm Brian No. He's George Reister. Keep it locked right
here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:13:53):
I'm Brian No.
Speaker 3 (01:13:54):
He's George Reister here on Fox Sports Radio, coming to
you live from the tire rack dot Com study. Okay,
I want to hear about you and big Warren Sap
fisticuffs on the field here, George, what happened.
Speaker 4 (01:14:06):
It was actually in pregame. We were playing in Tampa
Bay and Warren Sap had this thing that he used
to do where he would run through the opposing team stretch. Uh,
and I decided that that wasn't gonna happen. So when
when he ran through and he would run through with
(01:14:27):
it without his helmet on, so I side swiped it
in and decleted.
Speaker 3 (01:14:32):
Him a decleating by George Reister before the game has
even started.
Speaker 4 (01:14:38):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (01:14:39):
So what happened from there?
Speaker 4 (01:14:41):
Oh he tried to get up and fight, but but
then it got broken up. But uh, yeah, yeah, it
was just a simple you ain't gonna run through our
our stretch line like you like you do everybody else,
and everybody else is just gonna be like oh okay,
I guess And I was like, nah, not not today, Pelle.
Speaker 2 (01:15:01):
You just chose violence that day.
Speaker 4 (01:15:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:15:04):
Apparently were there any words like you're mine eight seven
your mind or anything like that? Remember doctor Trey in
training days? Oh for sure, you're U been dead?
Speaker 4 (01:15:14):
You hear me?
Speaker 2 (01:15:14):
Is that what he said to you?
Speaker 4 (01:15:18):
Like, I'll put cases on you have you playing basketball
in Pelican Bait?
Speaker 3 (01:15:25):
I thought, Uh, doctor dre The one line was you're
you're a long way from Starbucks, homie. That was the
one good thing that Doctor Drey did in Training Day.
Otherwise it was awful. It was a snoop. Dogg did
a great job in Training Day. But yeah, Doctor Dre
outside of the Starbucks line was not not good.
Speaker 4 (01:15:43):
I want to see that damn one.
Speaker 3 (01:15:46):
Macy Gray was fantastic. There are a lot of good
performances in Training Day. Yeah, okay, how about this. So
a couple of great responses here, George. One was from
Clayton Kershaw. This was on Thursday night. So the Dodgers
lost to the Padres five to two, and Fernando Tatis
Junior he hit a couple of home runs and as
(01:16:07):
the game was ending, on the scoreboard Z in San Diego,
so they put Padres win and then they show like
this cutout of Clayton Kershaw crying. And so Kershaw was
asked about this after the game he pitched that night
and he said, Uh, if you don't like it, pitch better.
Speaker 1 (01:16:27):
Amen.
Speaker 2 (01:16:28):
Amen. I love that response, met Clayton Kersher.
Speaker 4 (01:16:31):
Oh yeah, see see, I loved that response. So I
believe two things at one time. That it was Bush
league and super weak from the Padres right, But at
the same time, I live by the Kershaw rule that
I live by that, especially when it comes to baseball.
If you don't want people to pimp home runs, you
(01:16:53):
don't want them to, you know, to bat flip and celebrate,
even though they have the right to because it because
baseball is hard, then then don't let them do it.
So so I lived by that rule. But also at
the same time, really really, Padres, I mean, it would
(01:17:14):
be different if the Giants had done that like five
seven years ago when they when they were when they
had Madison Bumgardner and they were beating the Dodgers and
you know, and and all of that stuff and won
three championships. Then yes, okay, fine, But but you people
(01:17:35):
who have never won anything have the audacity to throw
rocks at the throne. That's a damn shame.
Speaker 3 (01:17:43):
I mean, it's an interesting place you come from on
this one, George, because you are a former Oregon Duck
and you know as well as I do, your college
football team and the fan base gets awfully chesty and
chatty as if they've won anything before in terms of
a national championship, which both of us know they have not,
(01:18:03):
and so I fight it interesting. I hear what you're
saying about the Padres, but it's hard to remain quiet
until you do win it all, you know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (01:18:13):
No, I don't think that you should remain quiet because
you can be relevant, like Oregon Ducks are relevant in
college football. They're they're relevant, they matter. However, like you
can't get to being like, oh you see, there's such
asmens they're losers. What let's let's let's put up crying,
(01:18:34):
Pete Carroll. You're like, bro, what what now?
Speaker 2 (01:18:39):
That is a go ahead, George.
Speaker 4 (01:18:40):
Yeah, it's two separate things in like, you don't have
to stay silent, but you also you don't have to
act like the Clippers either. At like like Clippers fans
and they're like, how we're better than the Lakers. We
beat them eleven straight times, but but guess who's at
home and guess who has a championship.
Speaker 3 (01:19:02):
Listen, I'm just saying, I hear you. There's a line
that is what you're saying. There is an absolute line
right there.
Speaker 4 (01:19:08):
No, I got it.
Speaker 2 (01:19:09):
I understand what you're saying.
Speaker 3 (01:19:10):
But uh handled very well by Clayton Kershaw, because look, man,
I don't make it too philosophical over here, don't but
I think I think a lot of times in this
day and age, it's easier to just be like, oh,
it shouldn't be like that.
Speaker 2 (01:19:24):
Let's say the fans are booing you.
Speaker 3 (01:19:26):
It's easy to be like they shouldn't do that, instead
of just owning it, like, yeah, we got to be better. Yeah,
that's that's all it has to be. So Clayton Kershaw
is like, I need to pitch better. I'll get you
some fantastic audio around the corner. Another great response also
this You can't say what have you done for us lately?
Any louder than this? Ah, Yes, welcome in Happy Sunday too.
(01:19:49):
You We'll get to a team who says what have
you done for us lately?
Speaker 2 (01:19:54):
Very very loudly.
Speaker 3 (01:19:56):
We are broadcasting live from the tirec dot com studios.
Iraq dot com will help get you there an unmatched selection,
fast free shipping, free road hazard protection, and over ten
thousand recommended installers. Tirack dot com the way tied buying
should be. How about these Milwaukee Bucks over here firing
Mike Budenholzer, George. They fire the guy after the bucks.
(01:20:21):
They are one and done in the playoffs. Would you
say you love it?
Speaker 4 (01:20:25):
Love it?
Speaker 2 (01:20:26):
You love it?
Speaker 4 (01:20:27):
Love love it?
Speaker 2 (01:20:29):
Why do you love love love it?
Speaker 4 (01:20:31):
Over there? George? Why? First of all, I want to
congratulate Giannis because there was no way that they do
this without Yannis's blessing. Right, that's absolutely right? So is
Jannis understands that he finally needed to run over his
coach like he runs over did defenders.
Speaker 2 (01:20:52):
But I thought there was no failure in sports, George.
Speaker 4 (01:20:55):
No, no, no, no, no, there is failure in an individual season.
Oh you yourself are only a failure if you quit.
And and this dude was, I mean, think about it,
just like he's a really good regular season coach, his
system works everything, but when he comes to the playoffs, Brian, Brian, no,
(01:21:21):
how many coaches would you rather have than than?
Speaker 2 (01:21:28):
Well, they're a handful, no more more.
Speaker 4 (01:21:31):
Than a handful, Okay, would you rather have? Because and
remember Steve Kerr is a wizard in terms of adjustments? Right,
so would you rather have Mike Budenholzer in the in
the playoffs? I'm not talking about the regular season or
Steve Kerr.
Speaker 2 (01:21:48):
I'd rather have Steve.
Speaker 4 (01:21:49):
Would you rather have e? Ma Udoka or or Mike boonhold.
Speaker 2 (01:21:56):
Does he may have a ring because Buddy does.
Speaker 4 (01:22:00):
Bud has a ring. Hold On he got a ring
because because Kyrie Irving sprained an ankle. And then Chris
Paul and Devin Booker were both heard in that finals
and Yanni's went god mode. It didn't matter who you
(01:22:20):
put out there. Yanni's overcame coaching. So you would tacticianally,
as a tactician, you would rather have Emai Udoka. You
would rather have Eric Sposter, you would rather have Listen.
Speaker 3 (01:22:34):
The lack of adjustments from Email Udoka in last year's
finals was staggering.
Speaker 2 (01:22:40):
No, it was not. What is about, dude.
Speaker 4 (01:22:42):
He just was in a position to where he got
out coached by one of the greatest coaches of all time.
And Jason Tatum admitted he got overwhelmed prior to the finals.
Even starting you had.
Speaker 2 (01:23:00):
Steve Kerr running circles around you.
Speaker 4 (01:23:02):
Steve Kerr runs Steve's run circles around anybody. Okay, I'm
gonna tell you this. In the playoffs, I would rather
have Doc Rivers. Oh, Mike Budenholz.
Speaker 2 (01:23:15):
Wow, now you've done it.
Speaker 4 (01:23:16):
Now, you nurse, now giving me yeah, I would rather
have out of I give me Mike Maloney.
Speaker 3 (01:23:25):
Hey, I can hear you on Nick Nurse, especially with
the the tricky defenses or what Steph Curtate said.
Speaker 2 (01:23:33):
Jankie defenses? Is that what he used right there? Yet
he'll do some creative stuff.
Speaker 4 (01:23:38):
So I'd rather have Tomo than Mike Budenholzer.
Speaker 2 (01:23:43):
Okay, I mean I'd rather have.
Speaker 4 (01:23:45):
Monty Williams than Mike. But I'd rather have every one
of the eight coaches left in the playoffs, including Joe Missoula,
rather than Mikeen.
Speaker 3 (01:23:57):
Now, when you said Monty Williams, I thought you were
saying Monsey. I thought you were saying you'd rather have
Monci Bolanos instead of But over there on the sideline,
I thought this would listen.
Speaker 4 (01:24:08):
I'm not gonna insult the man. I mean he is
a professional coach like like I mean it, and I've
said he's good in the regular season. It's the postseason
adjustments that that that have lacked in killed him.
Speaker 3 (01:24:23):
Okay, let's look objectively at him losing in this year's postseason. Okay,
So he loses Yannis for two and a half games
due to a back injury. Then Giannis comes back and
missus thirteen free throw.
Speaker 4 (01:24:39):
Give you thirty nine and twenty.
Speaker 2 (01:24:42):
Okay, then thirteen free throw in a sighting game.
Speaker 4 (01:24:47):
Ship, I've been in a game five with no with
and mind you did you? Did you not remember that
Jimmy Butler got hurt in that series two?
Speaker 2 (01:24:58):
Hey, who's up? Did Jimmy Butler play in Game two
against the Knicks? Who's leading?
Speaker 4 (01:25:05):
Is up?
Speaker 2 (01:25:05):
Miami Knicks series?
Speaker 4 (01:25:06):
By the way, it's still the Miami the Knicks. Where
the Miami Heat were a playing team. No, they they
lost Jimmy Butler. Hold on, They lost Jimmy Butler and
then he was hurt after that, and they lost their
another twenty point scorer in Tyler Hero, and they lost
a rotational player in Victor Oladipo. They were down three
(01:25:27):
dudes in the series, three dudes, and they were and
you had the best record in the NBA. You have
a deep roster full of veterans who have won a championship,
and you can't coach a way out of a paper
bag tacticially as a tactician. I'm sorry Mike Budenholzer. I
(01:25:49):
am not even opposed to him getting another job because
he needs to bring somebody an offensive genius onto his
staff and then think about this, Think about this, Jimmy
Butler was shooting sixty percent in the series, And do
you know who he didn't put on him?
Speaker 2 (01:26:08):
He didn't put him.
Speaker 4 (01:26:10):
So and and when and when you go back to
when when Kevin Durant was cooking him even though the
statistics show that Kevin Durant does not shoot well when
Giannis is guarding him, do you know who he didn't
put on him?
Speaker 2 (01:26:25):
He didn't put Giannis on him? And yes, you're a superstar,
MVP champion, and you're gonna sit there and not be
allowed to guard the guy and then squab by the
game vision, get.
Speaker 4 (01:26:43):
Out of here.
Speaker 3 (01:26:43):
You're a true superstar, you say I'm on him instead.
Speaker 2 (01:26:48):
It just doesn't aggressively saying your things in the post game.
Speaker 4 (01:26:52):
Prescott, how dare you honest?
Speaker 3 (01:26:56):
If you're a true superstar, you demand things happening. They
can about shack okay, Shaq being on the court and
saying give me the ball right now.
Speaker 4 (01:27:07):
Shaq was also toxic to his team at times too okay.
Speaker 3 (01:27:11):
But the point is you demand things as a superstar
at times, and for Yannis to not demand that you
know what the postseasons in a row.
Speaker 4 (01:27:22):
Probably saying, Yannis trusts me, this will work, and y'all
y'all is like, Ay, your coach, all right, cool, I'm
gonna trust you. But in the back of his mind
was thinking, if this don't work, boom boo boo boo boom,
we running you over.
Speaker 3 (01:27:36):
Okay, all right, So I'm just looking at the Miami
Heat being down.
Speaker 4 (01:27:40):
What'd you say?
Speaker 2 (01:27:41):
Three players? Yes, who are these three players? There's Tyler
Hero who Jimmy Jimmy Butler was I'm still looking for
okay in the third.
Speaker 4 (01:27:49):
Player, Victor Oladipo.
Speaker 3 (01:27:52):
Okay, first off, Victor Oladipo doesn't matter. I hate to
be so blunt, but it's true. In terms of contributions
on the court, this is not a big loss for
the Miami Heat that Tyler dep.
Speaker 4 (01:28:06):
Dude, when you get in a playoff when rosters are
super short, you can't tell me that a rotational player
who gets minutes doesn't matter.
Speaker 3 (01:28:16):
Okay, I can. He doesn't matter. He's not gonna give
you a great contribution. Yeah, he's a warm body you
can throw out there for a handful of minutes. He
might score a couple of points. Maybe I'll have a
sister too. That's about it. To lose Tyler Tyler hero, Hey,
he's a sharp shooter. That is a loss right there.
You can't say they lost Jimmy Butler. He played all
(01:28:39):
five games and he gave you in order thirty five,
twenty five, thirty fifty six and forty two.
Speaker 2 (01:28:47):
That's not a loss. Jimmy Butler was there the whole time.
Speaker 4 (01:28:50):
He was also hurt, was he or was he not?
Speaker 3 (01:28:52):
He gutted through it, just like he is right now
and he's still doing.
Speaker 4 (01:28:57):
What should have They should have put Giannis on him,
right or wrong?
Speaker 3 (01:29:01):
Hey man, I think Jimmy Butler would have ran circles
around Yiannis too, the way he was cooking. Yes, absolutely,
I haven't lost anything. I think he absolutely would have
cooked Giannis just like he was cooking everybody else and
continues to cook everybody else in these playoffs over here,
Jimmy Butler.
Speaker 2 (01:29:20):
Is on one.
Speaker 3 (01:29:21):
But the thing is it isn't only on Bud not
putting Yannis on Jimmy. It's also Jannis not demanding that
he's put on Jimmy Butler.
Speaker 2 (01:29:31):
That's partly on the Superstar as well.
Speaker 3 (01:29:33):
And can We back up for a second, because I
know this is an epic failure and there's no two
ways about that. To be the odds on favorite to
win a championship and to be one and done in
a gentleman's sweep at the hands of an eight seed,
that is the definition of a failure right there.
Speaker 2 (01:29:54):
And so it is just so hilarious season, for sure
it is. But it's a hilarry is that.
Speaker 4 (01:30:00):
Yan is a failure of a season.
Speaker 3 (01:30:02):
God is sat up there and said that there's no
failures in sports. This is just steps to success. You
know what's really happenings.
Speaker 4 (01:30:09):
Talking about personally. If he's talking about the team, Yes,
it's a failure. It is undoubtedly a failure.
Speaker 3 (01:30:18):
Well he should have said that when he's asked, was
this season of failure? And that was his answer, There's
no failures in sports and all that.
Speaker 2 (01:30:26):
You know what's happening.
Speaker 3 (01:30:27):
Here is it's easier to evaluate yourself more favorably, and
it's also easy to evaluate somebody else more harshly. And
that's what Yannis has done. He's evaluated himself more favorably.
There are no failures in sports. It steps to success.
And then when management comes here and says, hey, Ganis,
(01:30:48):
we're thinking about canon Bud.
Speaker 2 (01:30:49):
You cool with that? And he says, yeah, that's fine, right,
Like that is guarding.
Speaker 3 (01:30:55):
That is grating Mike Budenholzer more harshly, because the failures
didn't truly exist in sports, Bud would still be the
head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks. He's won seventy percent
of his games, he was the coach of the year
and the champion, and he's run out of town.
Speaker 4 (01:31:13):
Sorry for you, Sorry for you. Not my problem.
Speaker 2 (01:31:19):
It's okay, all right, but I'm just using Giannis's words
against him. If you try to sell me on failures
don't exist, it's just steps to success.
Speaker 3 (01:31:29):
Well, then why wouldn't you still stick with this? Why
wouldn't you stick with the regime that has proven to
be successful at the highest level. You've already won it all,
So why are you okaying that Bud is gone? It's
like it comes back to it can't be both things.
Either failure does exist in sports and Bud is out
of a job, or like, you can't have it both ways, right,
(01:31:54):
You can't tell me one minute failures don't exist, and
then okay, Bud being fired because you have said no, no, no,
let's ride this thing on out. If failures truly didn't
exist in.
Speaker 4 (01:32:04):
Sports, Bro, of course failure exists, brout.
Speaker 3 (01:32:10):
That's that's what Yanna said. Yannis's own words right here.
He said it, and it.
Speaker 2 (01:32:19):
Was a joke at the time, and it's a bigger
joke though that he's cool with Bud being out of
a job.
Speaker 4 (01:32:25):
But Bud had to go Bro like, like, what are
we talking about here?
Speaker 3 (01:32:30):
I mean, did he You could do a whole lot
worse than winning seventy percent of your games and winning
a title in a five year span, and he won
a title just two years ago. Damian Lillard put it
on Twitter, He's like, folks out here.
Speaker 4 (01:32:46):
Tyler doesn't know how to win. Oh that I love Dame.
I'm completely joking. I'm completely joking. No, no, no, no, Dame
it here. Here's the thing is, I appreciate Dame. But
but but Damon is also coming to the realization that
uh that, uh you know it, it ain't all what
(01:33:07):
it cracked up to be. Uhould they would you not
agree with that?
Speaker 3 (01:33:11):
In terms of staying in Portland, Yes, he might be.
I mean, I hope he doesn't come to that realization
and it's too late, you know. But he's Look, man,
he's loyal. Some would argue loyal to a fault, but
he's thicking with his squad right now. But they ain't
put it out there after Budenholzer got fired. Folks out
here firing championship coaches as soon as they don't win
(01:33:32):
the chip.
Speaker 4 (01:33:33):
Yes, what happened. He also is not in that in
that locker room to know what adjustments were and were
not made either. You hear me, okay, man.
Speaker 3 (01:33:44):
Like all this stuff about adjustments, I don't know. Like, look,
when Giannis is out for two and a half games
in a series that matters a ton. Also, Budenholzer's brother
died during that series against the Miami Heat. He was
involved in a tragic car accident.
Speaker 4 (01:34:05):
And that was sad, dude, that.
Speaker 3 (01:34:07):
Happened before game four. Bud doesn't miss a game. He's
there for games four and five and then is out
of a gig. So that's my question. Was it that bad?
Was it that bad with Bud where you just had
to make this move and are you guaranteed for things
to be way better with somebody else? I say no,
(01:34:28):
and no, That's why I'm like, Okay, all right, I'm
not gonna sit here and act.
Speaker 2 (01:34:32):
Like Bud is the greatest coach of all time.
Speaker 4 (01:34:34):
All right. If they can get Nick Nurse, is this
an upgrade?
Speaker 3 (01:34:39):
If they can get Nick Nurse, I think that coach
to coach, I prefer Nick Nurse more. But what Nick
Nurse doesn't have that Bud has is years of experience.
Speaker 2 (01:34:50):
With this squad. And I know, like we always look.
Speaker 3 (01:34:53):
At it one way where it's like your message starts
to you know, get tuned out over time. But the
other side of the coin is you know this team
inside and out. You know rotations, you know tendencies, you
know what buttons to push. Nick Nurse has to learn
all of that from square one. So when it's like that,
(01:35:15):
if you're talking about Nick Nurse replacing Bud in that
that's a different deal. I would rather have Mike Budenholzer
in that situation. Now, if we're talking about some random
other team and saying, hey, this squad has a vacancy,
who would you rather have Nick Nurse or Mike Budenholzer
if both are starting from square one, I would rather
(01:35:36):
have I'd rather have Nick Nurse.
Speaker 2 (01:35:38):
But in the buck situation, I'd rather keep Bud.
Speaker 4 (01:35:43):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (01:35:45):
Wow, tell me that doesn't make sense that I'll listen.
Speaker 4 (01:35:52):
I don't think it does make sense, bro, I think
that you have that you have found a way like it.
It doesn't feel good, And I'm gonna be honest, it
doesn't feel good too, like to like to fire Bud.
It doesn't feel good. But if mind you, this is
(01:36:15):
not just Giannis, this is Drew Holiday, this is Chris Middleton,
who they're trying to re sign this offseason. This is
you know, the runner up for Defensive Player of the year.
They they know good coaching when they see it, and
(01:36:36):
it just means that that man that he just wasn't
doing as good a job as what they needed.
Speaker 3 (01:36:41):
Like you know what, like Nick Nurse just got fired too,
you know what I'm saying, Like he's not the greatest
different time.
Speaker 4 (01:36:48):
Means that Nick Nick Nurse. Did you hear what he
told them on the way out? Hey? Good good luck
winning with those guys. I love that.
Speaker 3 (01:36:58):
It's okay, all right, they have nobody sucks, you know,
Van Noy.
Speaker 4 (01:37:05):
The Toronto Raptors are a team full of guys who
are who are the peace away from winning a championship.
For for other teams, all right, like like if you
put like, if you put Scottie Barnes on the Lakers,
bro oh my god, if you put Scottie Barnes on
the Suns championship you put Scottie like if you put
(01:37:29):
you know, uh, come on.
Speaker 3 (01:37:31):
Man, Okay, we got a lot to do here, George.
We got a preview the games to come. We've got
the goat having second thoughts. Reportedly, we got a lot
to do. We got a little time to do it.
So we'll go rapid fire here beginning right around the corner.
Speaker 2 (01:37:48):
I'm Brian No.
Speaker 3 (01:37:49):
He's George Reister. We're live from the Tireck dot com studios.
Keep it locked right here on Fox Sports Radio. I'm
Brian No. He's George Reister. Here on Fox Sports Radio.
We're coming to you live from the tire Rack dot
Com studios. And man, we're not done with hoops here today.
George got a big game four. Philly was able to
get Game four against Boston. That series is deadlocked at
(01:38:14):
two apiece. Can the Suns do the same thing tonight
against the Nuggets.
Speaker 2 (01:38:22):
There's laughter on that where you see the see the
Nuggets waltzing in this one here.
Speaker 4 (01:38:27):
It's not that I see the Nuggets Waltzing. It's just
that did you see what type of effort ish God
came three? What was so?
Speaker 3 (01:38:36):
The stat was I think Devin Booker and Kevin Durant
they scored or assisted on eighty eight.
Speaker 2 (01:38:46):
Percent of the points in that game.
Speaker 3 (01:38:49):
I think it was one oh six out of their
one twenty one roughly.
Speaker 2 (01:38:53):
That was the stat.
Speaker 3 (01:38:53):
It was something ridiculous. So basically, Kevin Durant and Devin
Booker had to move heaven and earth for them to
squeak one.
Speaker 1 (01:39:01):
Out to get to the dead.
Speaker 4 (01:39:02):
Yes, bro, it took every single thing in their power
to win that basketball game, every single thing in their power.
Speaker 3 (01:39:14):
It was, and Devin Booker was sensational with forty seven points.
And that's the question is if you don't get that
same effort tonight, is it gonna be enough?
Speaker 4 (01:39:26):
Not if they both scored thirty five points, is that
gonna be enough?
Speaker 2 (01:39:31):
That's a legitimate question.
Speaker 4 (01:39:33):
On my not shit shooting. Devin Booker was twenty of
twenty five. I know, he almost broken NBA record. He
was almost broken NBA record in.
Speaker 2 (01:39:45):
That Yeah, he was beyond on fire.
Speaker 4 (01:39:48):
Yeah, And in that if he didn't get fire out
fouled at the end of the game, he would have
had the most points ever in an NBA playoff game.
Went out attempting a rethrow.
Speaker 3 (01:40:03):
That's the crazy thing about basketball is there's always a
little bit of give and take. Where let's say Devin
Booker he doesn't go for forty seven tonight. Let's say
Devin Booker doesn't shoot twenty for twenty five, and then
we think, okay, well, how are they gonna win? Well,
Kevin Durant might be a whole lot more efficient than
(01:40:25):
twelve for thirty one, you know, and then you always
look at the role players. Hey, maybe Cameron Payne is
better than one for five from three, or you get
just a random player like Terrence Ross who was one
for six from three year. That's more so, you know,
I don't know if he's gonna have these peak minutes.
But the point is just when you think, hey, if
(01:40:47):
Devin Booker doesn't drop forty seven, how are they gonna win?
You see where like your Lakers look at D'Angelo Russell
where it's like, whoa where did this come from? He's
just raining threes. He had five in the first half.
So basketball that.
Speaker 4 (01:41:03):
He also did it against the in the first round
series as well against the Mphs Grizzlies. Now, now, there's
a difference between a player getting hot, a role player
getting hot occasionally, and what we have seen there. I mean, like, like,
(01:41:25):
because the math always maths, so he will have a
reasonable shooting game and then a bad shooting game. But yeah,
you're not gonna get this on a consistent basis game
in and game out.
Speaker 2 (01:41:39):
What like forty seven from Booker? Yeah, no, I mean
no chance.
Speaker 4 (01:41:43):
Yeah, I mean he can actually see now, book see superstars,
they can repeat these kind of performances, and I think
that that that Devin Booker if they win this series,
with the way it's looking right now, I think he
ends up ends up getting voted into the All Star
(01:42:05):
Game for the first time next year.
Speaker 3 (01:42:08):
Well, the thing is, Devin Booker, he's a sensational offensive player,
but he'd be lucky to get forty seven in any
other game this series. That's the reality of it. We
can't act like forty seven is just like, oh, you know,
like a January regular season game.
Speaker 2 (01:42:23):
These are the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (01:42:24):
Here, correct, now? If he could, I mean, dude, he's
just been freaking good dude, he's just been good.
Speaker 2 (01:42:31):
I mean, hey, no, but think of the margin for error. George,
you said it. He went twenty for twenty five.
Speaker 4 (01:42:40):
I don't expect him to shoot like that again. But
can he get you know, for can he score a
lot of points again? Absolutely?
Speaker 3 (01:42:50):
Oh yeah, sure like he could. I don't know, shoot
a ton more free throws in the game. Or he
was only two for two from the free throw line,
so hey man, maybe he gets to the line a
whole lot more and that's where he stacks up his points.
But you just don't have I mean, just think about
the NBA playoffs in general. Some of the best players ever,
they don't have a whole lot of forty seven point
(01:43:12):
games on their resume, you know, like you could go
with the best of the best, and we just can't
act like forty sevens a walk in the park. That
is extraordinary to put that type of total up on
any team in the playoffs. Would you bet that he
scores forty seven again in the series because I would
bet against that heavily. And mind you, I did miss
my Jalen Brown bet today, so.
Speaker 4 (01:43:34):
Yeah, I would bet against that. But I would not
be surprised if that makes sense.
Speaker 2 (01:43:39):
Yeah, you'd bet against it. This is the same thing.
Speaker 4 (01:43:42):
But I wouldn't be surprised.
Speaker 3 (01:43:44):
I would It sounds like I would be more surprised
than you would be. Is that fair to say we
both both bet against it. I'd be like, wow, forty
seven again, and you sound like you'd be kind of like, yeah, yeah,
that's not stunning.
Speaker 4 (01:43:59):
No, of course it wouldn't be stunning. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
it wouldn't wouldn't be stunning.
Speaker 3 (01:44:05):
But OK, this for fun, give me Devin Booker's highest
scoring game from here on out in this series? What
do you think it ends up being? Forty two drops
forty two? A Lah Harden? Do we call forty two
a Harden.
Speaker 4 (01:44:21):
If you don't get out of here? Absolutely not. Will
we will never refer to a James Harden?
Speaker 2 (01:44:29):
No, how can you not?
Speaker 3 (01:44:30):
James Harden drops forty two, game winning three and a
must have Game four against the Celtics.
Speaker 2 (01:44:37):
How can we not call forty two just dropping a Harden?
Speaker 4 (01:44:42):
Dude? It can't. Will Harden do it next next week?
Is the question?
Speaker 3 (01:44:48):
Hey man, he dropped forty five followed in Game one,
followed by a forty two in Game four. You know
he's got a couple of forty forty pieces under his
belt and that's series.
Speaker 4 (01:45:00):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (01:45:01):
Hey, man, you know what I'll say this, George, we
get so enamored with scorers that we forget about defense.
I mean, you got to take a second in Boston, like,
what the hell are you guys doing? How do you
allow a guy was five for twenty eight in a
two game span, right, five for twenty eight. How do
(01:45:22):
you allow that guy to go off for forty five
in Game one with no EMBIID and then go off
for forty two in today's game? How does that happen defensively, Boston?
I'd like to ask that question. All right, Yeah, that
can't happen. I think we spend a lot of time
(01:45:42):
talking about and there's nothing wrong with it. Tatum not
getting the last shot at the end of regulation or
the end of overtime, that's fine. We spend a lot
of time on the offensive end. I think we got
to spend a lot more time focusing on the defensive
end because if you keep hardened relatively in check in
that game easily today and Boston has a three to
one stranglehold lead, that didn't happen.
Speaker 2 (01:46:05):
Man, you got to bring it defensively.
Speaker 4 (01:46:08):
Yeah, well they they did it in the fourth quarter,
and then they found a way to snatch the defeat
from the jaws of victory, like they they literally had
it in there in their grasp.
Speaker 3 (01:46:21):
And then they selfishly you know when I needed that
rebound from Jalen Brown, then that's where al Horford just
snatched up Joe Ellenbiid for no good reason and that
play got blown dead instead of me cashing George is
how that unfolded.
Speaker 4 (01:46:38):
I'm not a horse a better horse.
Speaker 3 (01:46:42):
Man, Jalen what the game before is? Got's like he'll
watch next game George at home. He'll have at least
seven rebounds guaranteed.
Speaker 4 (01:46:51):
Oh for sure. So you can you can book it, bro,
you can book it.
Speaker 2 (01:46:55):
Hey, we can absolutely book this as well.
Speaker 3 (01:46:57):
Moncey bolanos with us on a happy Sunday Here Monsey's
spin us around the sporting landscape.
Speaker 4 (01:47:04):
Will you please?
Speaker 9 (01:47:05):
Well, first of all, I would be a great coach,
you thought earlier saying you wouldn't be.
Speaker 6 (01:47:10):
Yeah, yeah, time out, Okay, I will call the time out.
Speaker 9 (01:47:13):
So I think I listen, I could do it.
Speaker 2 (01:47:15):
I could do after the Jimmy Butler push off, in
Game five and he got the bucket at the end,
we would have called on.
Speaker 6 (01:47:23):
I would have brought out a stool and stood on
it so I could kind of be a little taller and.
Speaker 9 (01:47:28):
Told him what are we doing?
Speaker 6 (01:47:30):
And I would have just shifted everything, shifted the you know,
the energy.
Speaker 9 (01:47:34):
Because I'd beel like half the time. You just need
to shift the energy.
Speaker 2 (01:47:37):
That was a mistake that didn't call it.
Speaker 9 (01:47:39):
Yeah, a big, big mistake.
Speaker 6 (01:47:41):
And yeah, I don't know what it is with the
Celtics and their defense in certain games, because it's not
every game.
Speaker 9 (01:47:47):
I thought they were going to sweep the Hawks.
Speaker 6 (01:47:49):
I was not expecting the Hawks to win two games,
and yet they did. And here we are now after
Game four, the seventy six Ers and the Celtics are
tied at to apiece. That game went to overtime. The
Celtics were down by sixteen at one point. They came
back with the seventy six Ers held on one. Sixteen
to one to fifteen was the final score. Georgie's favorite player,
James Harden, ended with forty two points, eight rebounds, and
(01:48:10):
nine assists.
Speaker 9 (01:48:11):
He hit the go ahead three pointer in overtime.
Speaker 6 (01:48:13):
MVP Joelmbid with the double double thirty four points thirteen rebounds.
Jason Tatum of the Celtics ended with the double double
twenty four points and eighteen rebounds.
Speaker 9 (01:48:22):
Which is why your boy Brown didn't get more than
three in this game.
Speaker 6 (01:48:26):
I know at a PM Eastern time, which is about
twenty five minutes away, it's gonna be Game four between
the Nuggets and the Suns.
Speaker 9 (01:48:35):
Denver Duzley that series two to one.
Speaker 6 (01:48:37):
On the ice, the Maple Leaves are beating the Panthers
in their Game three, one zero, very early in the
second period.
Speaker 9 (01:48:44):
One game going on in Major.
Speaker 6 (01:48:45):
League Baseball, the Padres have scored first against the Dodgers.
Two zero is the score bottom of the second inning.
Speaker 9 (01:48:51):
The victories for the Nationals.
Speaker 6 (01:48:53):
For the Rangers, who scored sixteen over the Angel.
Speaker 9 (01:48:56):
Sixteen to eight was the final score.
Speaker 6 (01:48:57):
The White Sox dominated the Red seventeen to For the Brewers,
they beat the Giants. The Rays beat the Yankees in
ten innings. The Cardinals they finally won one. They snapped
their eight game losing streak after outscoring the Tigers twelve
to six. Victories for the Marlins and the Mariners, the Royals,
the Guardians. The Rockies, who outscored the Mets thirteen to
(01:49:18):
six in New York Philly, snapped their six game losing
streak and ended the Red Sox eight game winning streak
as they came out on top six to one, and
the Braves with the three to two win and twelve
innings over the Orioles.
Speaker 9 (01:49:30):
And how about this.
Speaker 6 (01:49:31):
According to ESPN and The Athletic, the Dodgers and the
Padres are expected to open the twenty twenty four season
with a pair of games in South Korea. The games
will be the first MLB contest played in South Korea
and will mark the eighth time since nineteen ninety nine
the MLB has played its first regular season games outside
of the United States or Canada. The source says that
(01:49:52):
the Padres and the Dodgers will likely play early enough
to return to the US and get settled before the rest.
Speaker 9 (01:49:58):
Of the twenty eight teams start their season.
Speaker 6 (01:50:00):
What so their opening day is gonna be super early
in comparison to everybody else.
Speaker 3 (01:50:06):
Yeah, what was it that a few years ago they
did the same thing. I can't remember where they played,
but it was abroad and it was before Yeah, it
was Australia.
Speaker 6 (01:50:15):
I just feel like, shouldn't it just be like a
game for fundzies, not like an actual opening day, because.
Speaker 9 (01:50:19):
I feel like that's weird when everybody else.
Speaker 2 (01:50:21):
Is gonna I'm with you, because it takes a little
bit away from cru opening Day, right, which is such a.
Speaker 6 (01:50:27):
Huge deal in baseball, especially here for the Dodgers, Like
opening Day is always super fun. So I feel like
this is interesting that the Dodgers and the Padres are
gonna start opening Day in South Korea.
Speaker 9 (01:50:37):
Last thing I'll tell you quarterback Lamar Jackson.
Speaker 6 (01:50:40):
A couple of days ago, he was introduced after he
signed that massive contract. He was asked about his trade
request that he made and he kind of just pushed
it off.
Speaker 9 (01:50:46):
He was like, we're gonna talk about the future. I
don't want to talk about that.
Speaker 6 (01:50:48):
Well, he was on The Lounge, which is a Baltimore
Ravens podcast, and he finally said something about the trade.
Speaker 4 (01:50:54):
Yeah, I never said all want to go for it,
like okay to trade.
Speaker 2 (01:50:57):
I recorded the trade, but it was nothing seriously, like
they're just.
Speaker 1 (01:51:01):
Getting the ball room.
Speaker 4 (01:51:02):
Business's business man. That's by the business. I'm happy that
I'm satisfied. That's in the past.
Speaker 2 (01:51:07):
I'm glad that's over it.
Speaker 4 (01:51:08):
You know, I'm happy to be here.
Speaker 9 (01:51:10):
So he didn't mean it.
Speaker 3 (01:51:11):
Yeah, it was like you know, in a relationship where
it's like I'm leaving you, I'm never speaking to you again.
Speaker 2 (01:51:18):
That's just so you can watch the ball game on
Sunday night. Right, That wasn't a real threat and then
you can't.
Speaker 4 (01:51:24):
He just needed them to understand that, you know that, like,
I will leave though. I will leave, but I don't
want to leave. But I will leave though.
Speaker 9 (01:51:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:51:35):
Requests, they're just leverage requests.
Speaker 1 (01:51:38):
That's all it is.
Speaker 2 (01:51:39):
Right, Samuel did the same.
Speaker 4 (01:51:42):
Thing sometimes, their actual trade requests sometimes.
Speaker 3 (01:51:45):
But it wasn't with Deebo Samuel and the Niners. It
wasn't with Lamar and the Ravens, and.
Speaker 1 (01:51:50):
I get it.
Speaker 4 (01:51:52):
The ball rolling, yeah, djo Wold a lot of times,
these dudes, they're like, Okay, fine, if you're not gonna
pay me, cool, Yes, I will leave, but I don't
want to leave. But if you force me though, I will.
Speaker 3 (01:52:05):
Well, what they're really saying, George is Okay, I'm looking
at my hand here the cards I have to play,
and I don't have a whole lot of cards to play,
but I do have this trade request card to play.
That's one of the only ones, and so let me
just play the sun thing, play this thing here and
get the ball rolling.
Speaker 2 (01:52:25):
That's all it is.
Speaker 4 (01:52:26):
I get it.
Speaker 3 (01:52:27):
I understand that because they were at a stalemate. But yeah,
anybody who thought that was a real trade request, it
was not. It is kind of strange, isn't it. Where
the off season, it's just a trade request and we
can't get the deal hammered out. And now it's just
they're back on the honeymoon phase again.
Speaker 4 (01:52:47):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:52:48):
It's Raven's flock and let's do this.
Speaker 3 (01:52:51):
And they have the press conference and John Harbaugh is
up there laughing with lo.
Speaker 2 (01:52:55):
Look get it here, Lamar. It's so great.
Speaker 3 (01:52:57):
It's just weird how it's done a full one to
eighty like that. But hey man, it's negotiation. We get it.
We get it.
Speaker 2 (01:53:05):
We got a lot to do here, George.
Speaker 3 (01:53:07):
We've got the goat in the news. Ties to your ducks. Brian, Okay,
you in a roundabout. Wait, get out of here with
that's another sport. But please tell me you don't have
a hot take with the other sport here. We'll find
out about that momentarily. I'm Brian Nough. He's George Reister,
coming to you live from the Tirec dot com studios.
Speaker 2 (01:53:27):
Keep it locked right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 8 (01:53:29):
It beat guarded by Tatum, left hand dribble in the
lane at the dotted circle, double teamed out the heart
three point shot for the lead is going. Harden converts
eighteen seconds to go, change Harden for three. He's got
forty two.
Speaker 3 (01:53:46):
That is the Progressive play of the day here on
Fox Sports Radio. Brian Knowing, George Reister with you here.
It's brought to you by Progressive Insurance. Progressive makes bundling

(01:54:08):
Compliments of Sixers Radio Network. As James Harden hit a
clutch three gave the Sixers a one point lead with
eighteen seconds to go, the Marcus Smart three that was
made was made too late, George, after the buzzer, it
does not count and the Sixers win Game three. I'm
sorry they win Game four. It's tied up to two now,
(01:54:31):
and that was a very matter of fact play by
play call from Philly with the hardened three, it was
like Harden hits the three eighteen seconds to go. Sur
I thought he was gonna lose his mind with that shot.
That's the most matter of fact.
Speaker 2 (01:54:43):
He said, what.
Speaker 4 (01:54:45):
Brouh Who was gonna lose their mind with that shot?
Speaker 3 (01:54:49):
Like the hometown radio call that If there's anyone that's
gonna lose their mind, it's the hometown radio call. It's
a massive shot. Massive. But there have been or fish
to fry. They hadn't won the game yet, I get it. Okay,
how about this news here George Tom Brady, the goat.
He's got his huge contract lined up with Fox Sports,
(01:55:11):
and there was a report in the New York Post
that said it's.
Speaker 2 (01:55:15):
Possible that he backs out of that deal.
Speaker 3 (01:55:17):
Actually a better chance, according to Andrew marsh and Brady said,
it's fake news. I thought that Brady was leading the
Dolphins to the Super Bowl next year and then you know,
ramping right up to the Fox Fox gig there.
Speaker 4 (01:55:32):
No, it depends if if Tua is not able to
stay healthy. Oh, he will be a member of the
Miami Dolphins.
Speaker 2 (01:55:43):
I wouldn't hate that book. It I would not hate
that at all, would not hate that. How about this?
Speaker 3 (01:55:49):
Also, George Bronni James, So he is committed to USC,
the son of Lebron James. Of course he chose sc Over,
Ohio State and your ducks, he said, sc Over Oregon.
Speaker 4 (01:56:05):
What do you think about that? And other news? Water
is wet? Bro. I knew this was happening months ago.
I just couldn't tell anybody.
Speaker 2 (01:56:15):
Oh really, yes, bro, where do you where?
Speaker 4 (01:56:18):
Where do you think my kids go to school?
Speaker 2 (01:56:19):
We got that inside you got that inside information there.
Speaker 4 (01:56:23):
Just this was like common knowledge.
Speaker 2 (01:56:26):
Wow, worst kept secret among recruiting circles there.
Speaker 4 (01:56:31):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (01:56:31):
Hey, by the way, where are your kids going?
Speaker 4 (01:56:34):
I don't know where he's gonna go yet?
Speaker 3 (01:56:36):
Okay, I didn't. I wasn't trying to like spoil the
surprise or anything.
Speaker 4 (01:56:40):
Oh no, no, no, no, no, no. Yeah. I mean he
will obviously have a big announcement whenever, whenever that time comes.
But uh but uh yeah, so we're still figuring out.
Still got some official visits to to take. Who will
be in town this week? Northway in Indiana and a
(01:57:03):
few other schools they will they will be in to
see him this this week. So we'll see.
Speaker 3 (01:57:08):
Okay, all right, Uh, keep us updated on that, George.
I want to know, are you gonna break it on
Fox Sports Radio on this show?
Speaker 4 (01:57:15):
Absolutely not, But that is that is not my news
to break.
Speaker 2 (01:57:21):
That would be so cheesy too.
Speaker 4 (01:57:23):
It would be funny news that is to break that
is that is my absolutely exactly.
Speaker 3 (01:57:30):
But what if he said to you, dad, you know what,

Speaker 4 (01:57:35):
