Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Oh what's going on everybody.
Speaker 3 (00:05):
It's not just what you do, it's how you do it,
the style involved. We will dive into that momentarily. We
are broadcasting live from the tyrack dot com studios. Tyrack

(00:27):
should be. So it's kind of interesting here, George, when
you look at Joker and Djokovic, this is where I
want to start here. If you look at Novak Djokovic,
he surpasses Rafael on the doll for the most men's
major titles. He's got twenty three. Now, Djokovic, he's got
(00:48):
the most ever in men's tennis history. And then you
look at Nicola Jokic, the Joker, what he's doing in
the NBA finals. He is freaking crushing it in the
postseason altogether, most points, most rebounds, most assists in a
single postseason. And what stands out to me is they
(01:10):
both get their flowers, but you know as well as
I do, they would be getting so much more recognition
if the style was greater. You know, if you saw
a Jokic, if he had the style of a Kevin Garnet,
he'd be getting way more praise.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Jocob, what do you what do you pray? Tell? What
do you mean by style? Because I just mean a
certain charisma. He can't change his his physical makeup, right.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
I know this is not a slight Oh. I know
that I'm not saying he's doing something wrong. I'm just
saying it is what it is. If if he had
a personality, he's much more Tim Duncan than Kevin Garnet.
You know, Kevin Garnett is jumped up in a dead
ball situation and swatting the ball away like blocking shots.
Speaker 2 (02:05):
See now see Now we're gonna get into a different
part of this conversation though, because I think that on
one hand, right that he is a reluctant superstar, kind
of like Kawhi Leonard, you know, kind of kind of
like other guys that we've seen who are super super good, right, reluctant.
(02:26):
I also think that that one of the things that
and and I could be completely wrong here, but we
we really had can can you remember a time where
in an American sport and now my mind. You Jo's
English is good, right, yeah, but it's but it's it's
(02:47):
not as good as maybe like Lucas. So where like Luca,
his style of play and his charisma has like multiplied things.
But I do believe that if that if Jokic were
an American born player, right, that his cachet and you know,
(03:15):
and notoriety and all that would be significantly more than
what it is now could be.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
I would go more so style than the American route.
And again I'm trying to preface this this on you.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
You mean that he's that he's not a high flyer, he's.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
Just stylistically he looks like a guy at the YMCA
that you wouldn't pick first, second, third, or fourth, you
know what I mean, Like just his his style, he
doesn't catch your eye. He's not a high flyer. He's
incredibly effective, and I'm just saying this is the way
it goes our eyes gravitate.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Steph doesn't get the same like that. Steph doesn't get
the same appreciation because he looks like a normal no human.
Speaker 3 (04:02):
No no, when you're watching his game. When you're watching
Steph's game, it is way more eye catching.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
You can't do versus you feel like that that people
think that there are more people that can do what
Jokic does.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
No, I'm just looking strictly entertainment value. That's it. When
you are watching a game. It's not like you're sitting
on the couch saying I could do that has nothing
to do with that. It's just what catches your eye.
What are you more likely to go?
Speaker 1 (04:31):
Whoa at?
Speaker 3 (04:33):
It's not gonna be Jokic's game. He's incredibly effective. It's
gonna be Steph's game. You bring up Luca. That's a
great comparison. Luca's game is flashier, Kevin.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
It's like the guard version of Jokic. I mean, but
but he's doing step back three stuff like that.
Speaker 3 (04:53):
Gosh, he's a it's ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
See, I think that the problem now. I struggled with
this when I first saw Luca at first two and
I talked to some NBA guys about it as well.
When they first saw Luca, they were like, bro, no way,
this slow, non muscle having person is going to thrive
in the NBA. And and mind you, he's been thriving.
(05:21):
But even I don't know, if you've seen a picture
of Luca lately looking lean. Yes, he even even he's
had to, you know, figure out the body thing because
what he was doing was not working.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
Finally working in the offseason. George, this is good exactly.
And then you go to Jokic, right.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
It is, and mind you, I completely subscribe to the
Jokic is a fantastic player and has a chance to
be one of the all time grades. Okay, if he
can keep this up for a longer period of time,
I subscribe to that. And even in that, watching Jokic
(06:01):
is still mind bending, Like you're like, it takes so
long for your brain to get wrapped around that idea,
right that? Sure?
Speaker 3 (06:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (06:14):
That Wait? How is this dude who doesn't jump off
the floor shoots this weird behind the headshot? Like, how
does how did they not steal the ball from him?
How did they not block his shot? How does he
get every rebound? Dude? It's it's like watching the European
version of Zach Randolph. That's what he is.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
Well, I love watching the Joker do his thing, but
I feel like Jokic is more appreciated by hoops heads
than he's going to be for like the casual basketball viewer.
He's not going to transcend the sport, you know, so athletes.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Yeah, I think that you have a point there, because
my wife doesn't watch a lot of regular seasons NBA basketball,
lest the Lakers are playing right, so she hasn't seen
a ton of Yokic. We've been watched so and then
she watched the Lakers series, and then she watched the
finals and she was like, brother, this dude is incredible.
Why can't they stop him? And by now after four games,
(07:17):
she's like, oh oh, because he's clearly unstoppable. And I
think that that's them playing on the big stage and
going so deep into the playoffs. And now, you know,
when the Eastern and West Conference Finals was were going on,
all you could watch was Jokic one night, and then
Jokic and Lebron and a d one night in Jamal
(07:39):
Murray one night, and then the next night you got
to watch the Eastern Conference finals. So people have seen him,
have been forced to watch him, and now with the
NBA Finals, if you're a basketball fan, you don't have
a choice but to watch him. So I think that
that's where players get the high level of appreciation. For instance,
(08:00):
jim Me Butler, he didn't get that sort of recognition
until the bubble when when he took them to the
finals and they got a chance to see him over
and over and over again.
Speaker 3 (08:11):
Yeah, I think there's something to that, But I still
go back to what catches your eye? What do you
just shift your focus to and say wow about? If
you look at tennis, like novakt Djokovic is a phenomenal player,
but he doesn't have the power and the style of Nadal.
He doesn't have the charm and the likability of Federer.
(08:34):
He's just he's a dominant player, but he's more like
vanilla ice cream, you know what I mean. Like he's smooth,
but he's not Federer smooth, you know, and you just
don't gravitate to him and go ooh and ah as
much as some of.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
The other guys. I would agree with that.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
I feel like Joker and Djokovic are similar in that regard.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
Yeah, now there might be some some some truth to that,
like he's not caring, like if you notice outside of well,
for pretty much all of our superstars, right like the
like the people at the height of the game, pretty
(09:16):
much all of them have quarterback face, Like they're all
like handsome people like the Brons, a handsome guy, Steph
Michael Jordan, Kobe, Magic Johnson, that damn smile. Larry Bird
was like the Marlborough man Middle America loved them.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
Who was at Tyrone Hill?
Speaker 2 (09:36):
No no, no, no, no no no. I hear you,
I hear you. Yeah. And Yokic like he looks like
he cuts his own hair with a flowbee.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
So I think that, And so I think that that
does lend itself kind of like Paul Pierce. People like
Boston fans like Paul Pierce, but how many really other
people are like hell yeah, Paul Paul Pierce. Is that man?
I think it's something about soft body athletes like like Jokic, Luca,
(10:08):
Paul Pierce that turns people that that they just can't
fully buy into it. So I think that that's one thing.
And then the other thing is is that his team
doesn't get talked about a lot. So like we we
know more about Austin Reeves being a great basketball player
than we and his in his you know rise, than
(10:31):
we do about Jokic.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
That's true, that that absolutely is true. I think that
has something to do with it. If yolk is playing
for a bigger brand name like the Lakers or Celtics.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
He's definitely all the credit. Imagine if he played for
the Lakers and he was doing this with the Lakers,
how would how would people be reacting?
Speaker 3 (10:53):
They would absolutely be reacting like crazy. But I do
think that the style and I'm not knocking the guy.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
But he's the best player to ever tie up shoes.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
If he did it with more style and more charisma,
I think that would make a bigger difference. Look at
Jamrant good example, like just on the floor. John Morant
is eye catching and he gets a ton of attention
in Memphis.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
You know what I mean, because he's because he creates
plays that you absolutely that must be played on the
on on the shows every single night.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Yeah, So to say he creates plays because they won't
show the Memphis Highlight. They will show like like they
won't even show the whole Memphis you know, the recap
of the game. No, they're gonna show the two wowd
ja Morant plays.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
Yeah, My favorite is look at display from John. Look
at this other play and the Hawks win by fifteen
or what?
Speaker 2 (11:53):
Yes, imagine if he played for Imagine if he played
for the New York Knicks. How would folks respond to that?
Speaker 3 (12:06):
Well, hey, yeah, absolutely, that would make a difference. But
my point is he doesn't have to play for the
Knicks because he has the style. Aaron Rodgers played for
the Green Bay Packers. We didn't shut up about the
guy because he's got styled.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
But it's also see, see, you got to remember that
in football, it's a little bit different because Green Bay
Packers are not a like that. It's not huge city,
but because it's a brand name, yeah it's yeah, it's
one of the biggest brands in.
Speaker 3 (12:38):
But in the smallest market size. You know, it's time
you know who Green Bay is.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
Clemson, Clemson, foot clem the city of Clemson is is
a what was there like fourteen fifteen thousand people there
in the city at Clemson.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
In the football stadium that they just count the stadium
and say that's the town site.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
So that's what I'm saying is that there, that's the
way that Green Bay is that the brand is so
big that it transcends, you know, like regular big city logic.
Speaker 3 (13:17):
Yeah, look, I think there's something there. We want to
get your comments on this. Feel free to hit us
up on Twitter at George Reister at the No Show
is where we're at. And I do think that if Joker,
if Djokovic, if they had more style, more charisma, I
think they would be getting way more recognition. And this
(13:37):
isn't a knock on them. It's me saying, man, I
wish they would get even more props because I think
they deserve even more attention because they're so great at
their respective sports. We'll get into a little bit later
in the show some of the athletes who had great style,
who had great charisma, who might be a bit overrated
because we tend to prioritize style and maybe give it
(14:00):
a little bit too much credit when we react to it.
Coming up next, we gonna get to this though. We're
looking at a common mistake being made about a big
named free agent. We will dive into that. I'm Brian,

(15:22):
I'm annoyed here, George Little.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
What are you annoyed about?
Speaker 3 (15:27):
I'm annoyed at some bad logic that is just floating
around here when it comes to one former Vikings running
back Dalvincook. Oh, there's a lot of this.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
Oh lord, I know you have a bad take about this.
Come on, well uh oh really, I am confident that
you have a bad take on this.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
I don't think I do at all. There's this reaction,
this common reaction of oh, he's cooked, he's not what
he wants was. This is what drives me crazy, George,
This idea that if a player isn't what they once were,
they just don't matter at all. They're not worth anything
(16:09):
in their respective sport. Lebron isn't what he once was.
That doesn't mean he is. He's worth anything to the Lakers.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
Steel better than most players had.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
Okay, fine, but he still isn't what he once was.
If you just judged it on that, that's a horrible evaluation.
I'll admit. Dalvin Cook isn't what he once was. At
his speak, his best year was twenty twenty over fifteen
hundred rushing yards, sixteen touchdowns, He had fifty four catches.
He had a great year's a couple of years ago.
(16:41):
He's not there now. But let's not act like he's
rushing for four hundred and fifty yards. He rushed for
almost twelve hundred yards last year. The truth is that
the Vikings didn't want to take a cap hit of
just over fourteen million dollars for an NFL running back.
That was the largest number that's what's going on here.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Well, no, they didn't want to take a fourteen million
dollar cap hit for one of the guys who's not
one of the top running backs in the you know,
three or four running backs in the league.
Speaker 3 (17:14):
Far cry not being one of the top four running
backs too. He's cooked, He's not one one. Yeah, sat
reaction makes no sense.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
Okay, here, here's here's the truth though, and this is
something that we have to pay attention to that running
backs in particular, what's what's the age that used to
be the standard for an old running back? It used
(17:45):
to be thirty yep, but the numbers actually looking more
like twenty seven right now? Yeah, right, so, and Dalvin
Cook is twenty seven years old, but he still did
average four point four yards carry last year, which is
not horrendous. I mean, Sakwon Barkley was at four point four.
Derrick Henry, yes, no, no, I'm sorry, yeah, yeah, correct, both
(18:06):
of those guys both at four point four now. But
the the future still feels fine, like cool in the
short term for Derrick Henry and for say Kwon Barklay.
The issue, though, is is that you have Dalvin Cook
who said he doesn't want a contract in the four
(18:27):
or five million dollar range that he's looking for a
significant deal. Nobody's going to pay him a significant deal.
That I think the most he'll get is a three
year deal, which is going to be essentially a two
year deal, maybe seven eight million dollars. That's going to
be the ceiling. If if that may be the ceiling,
(18:51):
the ceiling may be six million. The The problem is
is that running running backs are now treated like white
T shirts or or white Air Force ones that they
are now that they are closed from forever twenty one.
And I'm not saying that that's how they should be treated,
(19:13):
but they are treated like disposable clothing.
Speaker 3 (19:16):
Well, I think yes, in terms of their market, in
terms of the money that they command, yeah, I agree
with that.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
But in terms of working you know what's gonna happen now, right,
It's gonna happen to It's happened to Sakuon Barkley, it
has happened to uh Josh Josh Jacobs. It's even gonna
happen to be John Robinson most likely unless he has
(19:43):
a killer year in his contract year. What's going to
happen is you are going to have like there are
certain backs who are special and elite, right like you
Like we saw say Kwan, you saw b John Robinson,
you knew like there are certain guys that you know
are going to come into the NFL than going to
be immediately be an impact player at that position. The problem, though,
(20:06):
is is that now you have to figure out how
to compensate those guys. So you get them for five years.
Because you get them for four, you pick up their
fifth year guarantee, you franchise tag them, and you know
what's gonna happen to Josh Jacobs and Saquon Barkley after
this year, they will be on a different team though.
(20:29):
They will be free agents after this season, and then
they will go draft another one. That's what I mean
by disposable clothing. Hey Bett, I get you on that.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
Yeah, like that part of it, because there are a
couple of different things going on at the same time.
That part of it is true. There's no arguing the
market for running backs is just a rapidly declining stock,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
They're like, we'll just draft another one. It's the easiest
position to plug and play. It is.
Speaker 3 (21:00):
But I still circle back to Dalvin Cook. Even though
He's not gonna make ten million dollars a year or
anything like that because of everything that we just talked about.
That's not what the market dictates. Yes, but in terms
of the workload and in terms of making a difference,
I still think he can make a difference in Miami
held rather.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
Have because Dalvin Cook eighty one yard rush this year.
He still got some gas. So I would take Dalvin
Cook over. I would actually take Dalvin Cook over Miles Sanders.
I would take him over Aaron Jones, Remandre Stevenson. I
(21:42):
would take him over Nazi Harris with production that he's
been so far, I would take him over Alvin Kamara,
Raheem Moster. I mean he's a top, he's still a top.
I would give him ten ten to Yeah, it's at
least in the top ten. Yeah, yeah, he's the top
(22:03):
ten running back still.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
Like, how could anyone say a top ten running back
is cooked? That's just silly, Like you can't just look
at Dalvin Cook now compared to Dalvin Cook at his Yeah.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
But how many years would you give him on a contract?
I mean like I think, yeah, yeah, how many years?
Speaker 3 (22:23):
Two years?
Speaker 2 (22:24):
Yeah, that's exactly. I feel the same way about him,
Austin Eckler, that we're ranging in a territory where there's
a little bit like they're still meat on the bone. Yeah,
but we can't like get you to like, we can't
let you have a year making that much money. And
(22:46):
I'm just talking about from the team perspective, because from
the player perspective, get all the brand that you can get.
I'm just talking about from the from the team perspective.
They're saying, we we don't want to be in a
situation like the Cowboys were in with Ezekiel Elliott last
year where he's making so much money. And that's why
Ezekiel Elliott is not on a team is because him,
(23:10):
Dalvin Cook and guys like that who were very especially
Zeke who was an extremely high draft pick. They are
going to they're not used to making normal player money.
They are used to making right you know, and your
backup running back he plays special teams. Yeah, so imagine
(23:35):
Ezekiel Elliott asking Ezekiel Elliott to cover a punt.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
I know it's a different sport, but it reminds me
a bit of when Carmelo Anthony was in Oklahoma City
and he was like.
Speaker 2 (23:47):
Hey, Paul Pierce.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
They're just talking about me coming off the bench, right
and it's like, well, that's the best role for you
right now, mellow. But to your point, that's not what
they're used to. If you bring it back to football.
Dalvin Cook, he was going into the fourth year of
a five year, sixty three million dollars deal. He signed
that in twenty twenty. So when he's hearing these figures
(24:09):
of like three and four million, he's like, what, speaking
of my good here, I'm not used to.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
That at all.
Speaker 3 (24:14):
It's a good point by you. Same thing with DeAndre Hopkins.
D hop was gonna make around what nineteen million this
past season, So when he's getting these offers and he's
like how much? Right, Like it's sobering to think about
it like that when you're used to more money and
more years and all of that stuff.
Speaker 2 (24:32):
Yeah, oh oh for sure, he for sure is like
in that same situation because there is a hard thing
for like, if he were a seventh round draft pick,
fifth round, third, even his second round pick, like they've
(24:53):
been used to, not making first round money, not being
treated like a first rounder. Probably had to go to
special teams meetings. So it's it's easier for them to
make that adjustment. But when you have somebody who's always
been at the top of the food chain and now
people are like, hey, yo, I need you to come
to the special teams meeting. Wait wait, wait, wait what
(25:15):
I usually have to go to the team meeting. The
team meeting starts at eight.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
So I got to be in a six thirty.
Speaker 2 (25:21):
So you got to be in the six thirty meeting? No? Yes, fam, Yeah, yes, fam,
you got to be in that early one. Wait, Like
they like the star players who've always been at the
top of the food chain, and their team made the
mistake of never having them go to special teams meetings
and all that stuff. They made a big mistake. But
(25:42):
it is so like they don't even truly realize how
much work the other players do and how tiring it
is for them to be playing on defense and then
go covering kicks and all of that. For the guys
that have never had to do that, they have no idea,
no idea what that's like.
Speaker 3 (26:03):
Uh, well, we might have a couple of big names
that get a taste of that in the not too
distant future. Dalvin Cook might be one of those guys.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
But I think he's got the option is to do
that and get paid four or five million or not play.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
Hey man, we're bearing the lead though. What bad take
did you envision? You anticipated a horrible take from it?
How little faith you gott in me, mister Reichel, good.
Speaker 2 (26:31):
That you were going to go with the like the
Dalvin Cook should be either that either that he should
be paid some exorbitant amount of money or that or
or that he's or that he's totally cooked and finished.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
Oh no, yeah, no, no it was I didn't want.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
I didn't I did not expect a reasonable and a
measured take out of you back.
Speaker 3 (26:58):
I don't know what to tell you, George, my goodness,
that's exactly what you should anticipate over here. I'm anticipating
nothing but information delivered with style from when Moncylosi was
with us. Today, Moncy, what's.
Speaker 6 (27:11):
Going, guys? How's it going? Happy Sunday?
Speaker 2 (27:15):
Happy Sunday? To YouTube?
Speaker 3 (27:16):
Everything is great?
Speaker 6 (27:19):
That was that was a delayed Hey Moncy.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
I hey, I just I just want to let everybody
know that we may have one of the greatest group jets.
Speaker 6 (27:33):
Yes, no, it's pretty good. I have a good time.
I laugh, I laugh, a lot.
Speaker 7 (27:36):
Even though Brian hardly responds, I assume he's responding in spirit.
Speaker 3 (27:41):
You know what I'm a measured responder is what I'm
measured with my.
Speaker 6 (27:46):
Only when you have something good to say.
Speaker 2 (27:48):
You gotta know.
Speaker 3 (27:49):
Yeah, yeah, if I have, I'm not going to give
you a dud message, you.
Speaker 6 (27:52):
Know, right right right? No, I get it, I get it. Yes, No.
Speaker 7 (27:55):
Our group message definitely makes me laugh out loud a lot.
I look forward to it. I look for it, even
though I don't have a special sound.
Speaker 6 (28:02):
When you guys text me.
Speaker 7 (28:03):
When you sent us that sound Brian for the group message,
I was going to respond, well, I haven't had sound
on my phone in twenty years, so.
Speaker 6 (28:11):
Really, yeah, it's always been on silent. It's just been
on silent. That's it for just twenty years.
Speaker 3 (28:18):
That's how you do it.
Speaker 6 (28:19):
Yeah, ever since I've had a phone, I was like,
I get annoyed. I'm I hate noise way phone.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
This is the tone I used for our Sunday group chat.
That's George, George saying beta bel Vita. Chi'm a huge
fan of Belvita cheese on my homemade taco Oh BANSI.
Speaker 2 (28:41):
Has he ever told you about these.
Speaker 6 (28:43):
No, he only tells me about cheese its.
Speaker 2 (28:46):
Let's let you do your work, all right, and then
we'll tell you about this about what he needs to
be thrown in jail for.
Speaker 6 (28:54):
Okay, I can't wait to hear it. Yes, let's do that, guys.
Speaker 7 (28:56):
We've got three baseball games currently going on.
Speaker 6 (28:58):
Even though it's been a day of baseball.
Speaker 7 (29:01):
The Padres and the Rockies are tied at three apiece
top of the ninth inning. They are playing in Colorado.
The Giants, Thank goodness for Jock Peterson. He's hit two
two run homers. Those are the four runs that San
Francisco has on the board, and they're currently beating the
Cuffs four to two bottom of the fourth inning. The
Angels started off hot with a Taylor Ward leadoff home run,
(29:22):
and they've kind of been cruising. They are beating the
Mariners seven to three bottom of the fifth inning. Earlier today,
the Rays they win another one. They took down the
Rangers seven to three. Wander Franco hit a three run
homer in the bottom of the fourth inning and it
kind of just kept going. The Rays have won eight
out of their last nine and are forty eight and
twenty for the season, the Dodgers lost to the Phillies.
Speaker 6 (29:47):
It's so annoying.
Speaker 7 (29:48):
Freddie Freeman did have a solo home run in the victory.
The Dodgers are seventeen and nineteen on the road. Now,
remember last time we were talking about Wander Franco, how
he fielded that ball.
Speaker 6 (29:58):
He threw it up in the air.
Speaker 7 (30:00):
Yeah, and we're all like, yeah, good job, all right,
So this is me telling you not to do this, guys.
Speaker 6 (30:04):
If you're losing.
Speaker 7 (30:06):
Dodgers pitcher Bruise Dark gratterol, we're like losing by five runs.
Speaker 6 (30:10):
He's pitching.
Speaker 7 (30:10):
He fields a ball, he kissed it and then threw
it to first base.
Speaker 6 (30:13):
No, no, no, no, no.
Speaker 7 (30:15):
If you're losing, you can't do that, guys. Rex Moncy right,
like facts, no, cap, what are you doing?
Speaker 6 (30:22):
We're losing? Stop it? Stop it?
Speaker 2 (30:25):
How about that? I mean, if you're down like a
run or two, right, and it's like the first or
second inning.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
Okay, what was it when Wander did it? They were
up like eight to one or something. You crazy when
he did this?
Speaker 2 (30:37):
Right?
Speaker 6 (30:37):
No, no, this was the eighth inning and we're like
down by five. Absolutely, do not do that, guys.
Speaker 7 (30:43):
This is not a Typo. The A's have won five
in a row. Man They just beat the Birds eight
to six, so they are on a roll. We didn't
have any basketball today. We didn't have any hockey, but
we did have the French Open. You guys were talking
about Novak Djokovic. He won his third French Open title today,
beating Casper Rude in three sets for a record twenty
(31:04):
third Grand Slam men's title. He is now tied with
Serena Williams, but he does pass Raphael Nadal. Officially, a
little NBA news, the Boston Celtics are finalizing a deal
to hire Charles Lee as their lead assistant coach. Boston
was just waiting because he had interviewed to be the
head coach of the Pistons and the Raptors, so they
(31:24):
were just waiting for him to not get that job
and to finalize this deal. So I guess it was
worth the wait for Boston. The Athletic reports that Bobby Jackson,
a twelve year NBA veteran and former six Men of
the Year, is joining the Philadelphia seventy six Yers coaching staff.
Speaker 6 (31:38):
Wow, back to you guys.
Speaker 3 (31:39):
Shout out University of Minnesota.
Speaker 2 (31:41):
Bobby Jackson.
Speaker 7 (31:42):
Oh yeah, tell me about this Belvida cheese.
Speaker 2 (31:46):
So this man makes tacos right with standard issue taco shells,
like the fake me outs right, okay, and then puts cubed.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
Stop partangular. They're in rectangles absolute.
Speaker 6 (32:07):
What are you doing? Are you crazy?
Speaker 3 (32:11):
No, not crazy at all.
Speaker 6 (32:13):
We were working tacos.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
When we were working together. One time in l A.
I brought him some like some some street tacos from
this super good good place. He was like, yeah, those
are good. I don't like him better than the velvet
I would, Mazi. Imagine if you showed up your family
with those, what they.
Speaker 7 (32:36):
Do to you, They would laugh at me and they
would call me a.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
Sometimes you take the laughs and stride and you keep
doing you you know, I mean, I.
Speaker 7 (32:48):
Know, no, I also don't know. No, I'm not like
Thelvita cheese. Is that nacho cheese?
Speaker 8 (32:53):
Right?
Speaker 7 (32:54):
Oh it's so no, no, no, you need like some
shredded cheese.
Speaker 3 (32:57):
Come on, shredded cheese is so overrated. We're overrated where
it's at.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
Mamanzi, it's been it's been years. He eats like a toddler.
I am.
Speaker 3 (33:10):
I'm pretty much on an island with the Velveta cheese thing.
But there is one proud man who was on the
island with me, and he's a former duck, George Reister.
So this is Akilley Smith, remember top five former draft pick.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
I see I see Achille regularly. Our and our kids
play against each other at the second game of the
season this year.
Speaker 3 (33:34):
Okay there. This is When I was doing local radio
and Portland, Achille would come on a lot. He was
an awesome, awesome guy, great guest. But listen to what
he had to say about Velveta cheese. Do you get
down with Velveta cheese at all?
Speaker 6 (33:47):
Just the best in the world.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
Our friendship has hit another level right here? Are you? Kid?
Speaker 3 (33:54):
You're screwing with me here?
Speaker 2 (33:55):
You really believe this? Oh yeah, that Jesus is so
good you put it in the microwave. Else, yeah, it's perfect.
Speaker 3 (34:02):
Say it's not just me. I'm not crazy Smith. Seeing
Belveda right there, That's what I loved it.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
That is The first thing is a knows nothing either.
That is, I mean the fact that you actually promote
that is it is mind bending.
Speaker 3 (34:30):
Though shredded cheese has nothing nothing on Belveda zero.
Speaker 2 (34:40):
If you realize one day you're going to show up
at the Pearly Gates and you're going to wonder why
you didn't get in. This is why this is.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
That is dark man. That is dark right there, George,
I'll keep that in mind. If that, indeed is the
way goes down. We've got, according to Monsey, right around
the corner, we've got strong opinions. I don't know if
a take on Vilvita cheese.
Speaker 6 (35:08):
I'm changing everything just to vilvia the.
Speaker 3 (35:10):
Format real fast. We'll find out what Monsey is heated
or very passionate about in the sports world. Right around
the corner, I'm Brian, No, he's George Reister. Keep it
locked right here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
Behold the power of cheese.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
I'm Brian know he's George Reister. Here on Fox Sports Radio.
We're coming to you line from the Tirec dot Com studios.
No time to waste, let's dive on in corrine and
now it's time.
Speaker 6 (35:38):
For absolutely it's going to.
Speaker 1 (35:41):
Be according to Monsey, I love it.
Speaker 3 (35:44):
Yes, According to Monsey, Leonel Messi coming to play soccer
in the US is huge.
Speaker 6 (35:51):
I mean it is huge.
Speaker 7 (35:53):
As we all know, soccer isn't as big in the US,
as it is.
Speaker 6 (35:57):
Literally everywhere else in the world.
Speaker 7 (36:00):
But Messi is considered the goat, the greatest in soccer
and it's not even a major discussion like it is
in basketball. You might get like a few people that
mentioned Bele, Cristiano, Ronaldo Mararona, but it's not really a debate.
Especially when he secured the World Cup win. Here in
the US, Messi has been like like this mythical creature,
you know what I mean, Like, we all know who
(36:20):
Messi is.
Speaker 6 (36:21):
Everyone's heard of Messi, but it's.
Speaker 7 (36:23):
Been something that we have admired from Afar, but not anymore.
You're actually gonna be able to see him in action
without having to leave the country, which is huge, not
just for soccer but for MLS for people in the US.
This is really going to change the way soccer is
viewed here in the US. It's bigger than Beckham when
(36:44):
he did it, when he did it with the Galaxy.
Speaker 6 (36:46):
This is gonna be so so big.
Speaker 7 (36:48):
I'm so excited, Like he's actually here, He's not far away,
you know, Like it's crazy, Messi's.
Speaker 1 (36:53):
Coming to the US, according to Moncy.
Speaker 2 (36:57):
According to Mancy, Gary Sanchez, the catcher yes is proof
that sometimes the change of scenery is all you need.
Speaker 7 (37:06):
Oh yes, I mean literally, he was thrown away by
the Yankees, thrown away by the Mets, by the Twins,
by the Giants.
Speaker 6 (37:13):
But you know one maybe ye.
Speaker 7 (37:16):
But no, maybe maybe okay, maybe at first, maybe his
surroundings maybe whatever it was. But you know, four teams
trash is another treat, another team's treasure. When the Padre
signed Gary Sanchez, it was May thirtieth coming into today
because they're playing right now, or it just ended, but
they're coming into today.
Speaker 6 (37:34):
He had played eleven games. He has eleven hits.
Speaker 7 (37:37):
Including five home runs, to go along with twelve RBIs.
He has brought new life to the Padres catcher position
that was in dire need of some upgrade.
Speaker 2 (37:46):
How many errors as he have done?
Speaker 7 (37:48):
He actually, no, seriously, he's not only doing super well hitting,
but even defense.
Speaker 6 (37:52):
He's now he's now their starting catcher.
Speaker 7 (37:55):
He has bumped Austin Nola out of being the starting catcher, who,
by the way, was bad one thirty five and had
one home run for the season. They literally were saying
that he is better at stopping the balls.
Speaker 6 (38:06):
He wasn't that great when he was with the Yankees.
Speaker 7 (38:08):
He has kind of changed his way and they're giving
him credit, not just offensively but defensively. And the Padres
needed that because the catchers before he arrived were last
in baseball ops slugging percentage and batting average.
Speaker 3 (38:21):
Way, wait a minute, I thought stopping the balls was
the next story.
Speaker 6 (38:25):
We'll get there.
Speaker 3 (38:26):
We'll get there.
Speaker 2 (38:27):
First of all, who cares about the Padres anywhere?
Speaker 7 (38:31):
First of all, this is not about the Padres. This
is about sometimes you just need to change a scenery. Okay,
that's what this is about. Pay attention, delvida cheese. Anyways,
he's just like revitalizing not just his game, but he's
helping the Padres.
Speaker 6 (38:47):
That's awesome.
Speaker 2 (38:48):
Not really care.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
Yeah, according to Monsey, all.
Speaker 5 (38:53):
Right, according to Moncy, Zion Williamson should be thanking Mariah Milt.
Speaker 9 (38:59):
I mean, who knew Williamson at this type of dog
in him. I mean, he's not playing the field, but
he's playing the field, you know what I'm saying. This
girl thought that she was gonna do some major damage
to Zion, maybe ruin his reputation.
Speaker 7 (39:13):
Honestly, all she's done is a make a fool out
of herself. She's still talking on Twitter. This doesn't make
me look at Zion in a negative way. This doesn't
make me think he is no longer capable of playing basketball.
Speaker 6 (39:24):
It just tells me he's living his best life with
a few ladies. And honestly, that's it. This girl has
lost her mind.
Speaker 7 (39:30):
She's not really doing anything to destroy Zion. In fact,
what didn't What did we learn from Donald Sterling? His
mistress v could have had everything she wanted if she
just would have been quiet and taken all the gifts.
Speaker 6 (39:42):
You could have been this mistress. This could have been you.
You still could have gotten all the lavish things he
was giving you if you would have.
Speaker 7 (39:48):
Just sat down privately and kept this, you know, between
the two of you.
Speaker 6 (39:53):
Instead, you tried to expose him. And all we know
is a bit of a freak.
Speaker 7 (39:56):
That's it. But Zion is pray now though he pray,
well yeah no, now he's gonna have to figure things out.
But I'm saying, like this girl is not doing the
damage that she thinks she is.
Speaker 6 (40:07):
Facts at all, like at all?
Speaker 3 (40:10):
Very well done again, Monty Bolanos, bringing the facts, bringing
the style, the opinions. Hey, coming up next, we'll get
to that. George and also which athletes have benefited the
most from having great style?
Speaker 2 (40:24):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (40:25):
Which athletes have benefited from having great style?
Speaker 2 (40:29):
That is on the way.
Speaker 3 (40:29):
We are broadcasting live from the tierrack dot com studios
tirerack dot com. We'll help get you there an unmatched selection, fast,
free shipping, free road hazard protection, and over ten thousand
recommended installers tirec dot com. The way tire buying should
be okay, George, So we began the show.
Speaker 2 (40:48):
My angle.
Speaker 3 (40:49):
I think you have a little bit of a different angle,
which is fine. But I'm looking at Novak Djokovic, who
won is twenty third major, when's this twenty third Grand
Slam title? Won the French Open on Sunday, and so
he stands alone most in men's tennis history. Yep, you've
(41:09):
got Nikola Jokic on the cusp of winning his first
NBA championship. The Nuggets have a three to one lead
on the Miami Heat. Nuggets might close it out tomorrow night.
And if you look at those two guys, the Joker
and Djokovic, I think that they they get their props,
(41:30):
but it's limited, right, And I think a lot of
that has to do with they don't have outstanding charisma.
They don't have outstanding style. There are others that are
more stylish in their respective sports. And if style is
mixed with production, mixed with greatness, I think the recognition
(41:52):
is even greater. So it's not a knock on those guys.
But that's where I come from. Where If Djokovic, if
he has the style of Nadal, I think this would
be a much bigger deal with him being the all
time guy. But he's not there, and so it's not
as big of a of a talking point.
Speaker 2 (42:10):
So I got to thinking about this right after after
we were talking about this earlier, and I kind of
felt like that you were out of out of pocket
for comparing Jokic and Djokovic, because Jokic is clearly a
good players, two time MVP getting ready to be a
(42:34):
single time champion, to the guy who might be the
goat in in the tennis.
Speaker 3 (42:41):
But that's not the comparison. It's not who you're comparing,
it's how. I'm not comparing them in terms of like
what they've achieved, because that would be, to your point different,
that's not the ya, but.
Speaker 2 (42:52):
And and and so the the point is that if
Jokic were to have this the same sustained success that
Yokovic has, that Lebron has, or any of the other
greats that have been, you know, at at top five
player level or one to three level for ten plus years,
(43:13):
then he probably would be getting the love and adoration
that that he deserves. I on hill that I'm on,
I definitely hear you on that is that style of play,
notwithstanding and everything else, I think he would be getting it.
If that were the case, I still different.
Speaker 3 (43:32):
I'm with you, and yet I'm not where If he's listen,
if he's winning a much championship.
Speaker 2 (43:39):
Are right, but you're wrong.
Speaker 3 (43:42):
I'm fifty percent.
Speaker 2 (43:45):
I'm with you.
Speaker 3 (43:46):
In terms of if Djokovic joking, I'm getting him confused.
If I Jokic, if the joker, if he keeps stacking
titles right, his recognition is going to grow and grow,
There's no doubt about that. But I still say it's
capped because look at Tim Duncan. Tim Duncan won five rings,
(44:06):
you know as well as I do. If Tim Duncan
is doing it with style and flair, and that's just
not him, He's that guy with a bunch of charisma.
Speaker 2 (44:15):
He's the big fun but he wouldn't do the commercials
or anything else. If Jokic starts being in commercials, forget
about it, bro, he will. He's for sure going to
get asked to be in commercials after this this year,
and if he doesn't, might trout this thing. If he
actually embraces it, oh boy, oh boy.
Speaker 3 (44:34):
I don't think he will. Listen, I'm with you. If
he did, I think that his profile would grow and grow.
He just doesn't care about that. The guy goes out,
he does his job. He's an absolute baller, and then
he just wants to kick it with his family and
put out like horse videos or like what. He's not
trying to be an icon. He's not trying to be
a brand. He's just trying to hoop and live his life.
(44:55):
He's not worried about all that.
Speaker 2 (44:57):
I listen, if the check is big enough, I guarantee
you that he'll be a part of it. Because you
have Kawhi Leonard, who didn't want to be any any
part part of that. But any anybody who will put
Kawhi Leonard in a commercial, if to check right, he running,
He run into it.
Speaker 3 (45:18):
Okay, Now think about it from this standpoint, George, if
we look at athletes that had great style. You're watching
them and they were like a human highlight reel, like
Dominique Wilkins. Right, they did some things where you said wow,
and because of that wow factor, we might have overstated
(45:42):
how great they were in their respective sport. I've got
a couple on my lists, anybody stylistically that got a
ton of attention that when you look at their numbers,
you're like, wow, the numbers don't really stack up with
the attention they got.
Speaker 2 (45:56):
Now. See, I look at this from a different perspective,
which is because I collect cards. Okay, yeah, and the
the Yokicic cards at this point feel like that they
are going to have sustained you know, like a sustained
(46:19):
shelf life. Oh, I definitely agree with that. Yeah, whereas
other players, like, for instance, like a Paul George not
gonna like it still has shelf life, but it's not
going to maintain that shelf life in like post career,
Like I think a Yokich may And I don't know
(46:41):
what it is about them, see, because I actually think
that we're just on the cusp of Jokich Mania. If
they can get back to the finals next year, Lord
have mercy.
Speaker 3 (46:51):
I don't think there will ever be a day, And sadly,
I'm not rooting for this. I just think this is
the way it is. I don't think there's ever gonna
be Yokich May just because the guy is he's a
lunch pail guy. He's more like Tim Duncan. I think
that style, that charisma, it matters a lot for more
and more and more people to come flocking to you
(47:12):
and to sing your praises.
Speaker 2 (47:13):
It does matter. And but there's also a difference when
more people are sticking their microphone in your face too.
And it's hard because Lebron takes up so much oxygen
in the room, right, he takes up so much oxygen
in the room. Even though that they're not even in
the playoffs anymore, he's still taking up oxygen.
Speaker 3 (47:34):
I'll give you a couple of athletes who we oud
and odd odd about, and I'm not against that, but
when you look at their numbers, their numbers don't stack
up to how much we focused on them because great style.
Best example, Bo Jackson. Bo Jackson was an unbelievable athlete.
(47:56):
I'm not saying he wasn't, and he did some things
in football and in baseball that you said, oh my gosh.
But then when you look back, he never had a
one thousand yard season four years in the NFL. Then
he had the hip injury. With the Raiders, he rushed
for sixteen touchdowns. But you have a couple of great
moments where he's running over Bosworth and he's got ninety
(48:17):
plus yard touchdown runs and he's running out of you know,
Seattle Stadium. He had some great moments. But when you
stop and you look at the career baseball wise, he's
a career two fifty hitter. He had one season with
over thirty home runs and over one hundred RBIs that's it?
Speaker 2 (48:32):
One, that's all.
Speaker 3 (48:34):
And yet we talk about bo outstanding athlete, but the
production it doesn't come close. But the style and the
way he did it, it's unforgettable.
Speaker 2 (48:44):
So now I am very surprised that you had that
to say about Bo Jackson. Boy, oh boy, it's true. Now,
now here's the truth about Bo Jackson. And I've said
this and people have and upset about it. Now, obviously
Bo Jackson's career was derailed due to injury and all that, right, yeah, yeah,
(49:11):
But the problem is this is that the is that
the best thing that happened to the Legend of bo
Jackson was what happened to Bo Jackson because there was
like for him to live up to how he's revered
(49:31):
and talked about now, it's it's incredible. I mean, think
about it. We don't talk about Emmitt Smith the way
we talk about Bo Jackson. We don't talk about Walter
Payton or Jim Brown or any of those dudes with
the same reverence and like awe of like a of
(49:52):
a god, like you know, a mythical player that Bo
Jackson is like that. That's the The Legend of bo
Jackson was obviously better than the career that Bo Jackson
had due to injuries. But for him to actually live
(50:16):
up to what the to what that is, I mean,
he would have literally had to be the greatest most
charismatic player of all time, Like I mean, I mean
it would have to be like Jerry Rice level. Yeah,
the the the statistical accomplishments. He would have had to
(50:38):
rush for two thousand yards more than one time. He
would have like like the types of things that he
would have had to do aren't really attainable.
Speaker 3 (50:47):
Yeah, it is pretty crazy because we never saw him
get old. We never saw him decline, right, We just
saw these unbelievable moments and then he was gone. But
it was like the legacy lived. But I'm just telling you,
style matters a ton, It matters, probably too much more
than it should. But the way Bo did it, he
(51:09):
did it with great style. I still remember him breaking
a bat over his helmet in baseball. I remember him
making a catch in the outfield and then running up defence.
I've never seen that before. But the style matters. It
sticks with you. Some other athletes great, great style, and
we owed an odd a lot more. And you look
(51:29):
back and you're like, eh, Mike Tyson, Mike Tyson's on
the list. I love him George as a boxer, But
you start looking at the resume and it was like, okay,
beating a bunch of dudes that are all right. You know,
he's beating Trevor Berbick and Frank Bruno. And then when
he got to the big boys, Evander Holyfield whooped him,
(51:50):
Lennox Lewis whooped him.
Speaker 2 (51:51):
I mean, he doesn't have a whole, he doesn't have
a who's who of he beat this dude and that dude.
Time out, time out, now now you have gone way
too far.
Speaker 3 (52:02):
I'm telling you. The style, the black trunks, the menacing look,
he had it all. He's beating up tomato cans mostly
what Yes, you have.
Speaker 2 (52:13):
Lost your ever loving mind?
Speaker 3 (52:17):
Who you have against?
Speaker 2 (52:21):
Are you kidding? First? First and first and for foremost
When when when he won the title against Spinks, Spinx
was a very good fighter, first and first and foremost,
like you just need to just stop and just understand
what the hell was going on? Youngest champion of all time?
(52:46):
And and when he's and when and everybody who was
in front of him, Razor Razor Ruddick, big time fighter
at the time. You and I know he fought an
old Ry Holmes. But then he went he won Frank Bruno,
legitimate opponent Buster Douglas.
Speaker 3 (53:06):
Obviously, yes, and and and then to one forty to one,
and Buster Douglas knocks out Mike Tyson.
Speaker 2 (53:14):
But you also have to understand that is the type
of things that have got that went on in his life.
And the and the other thing is too, is that
just because somebody has losses and boxing does not make
it anything other than they then they fought tough opponents
at times. Look at look at the greatest boxers that
(53:38):
we consider of all time, Muhammad Ali. He's got losses
and some ugly ones because there are some unique things
that go along with it. Yeah as well.
Speaker 3 (53:53):
Hey, I just I'm not gonna penalize Mike for losing
to Kevin McBride at the very very end. Even is embarrassing,
but yeah, that's that's when he's almost thirty nine years old.
You know, he's at the very very end. I'm not
gonna hold that against him. My point is this, if
Mike Tyson didn't have the incredible style that he had,
you're not gonna have half the people rushing to his
(54:16):
defense to say, oh no, no, Mike was this and Mike
was that. If he's just boring, no charisma, no real style,
and you just look at his resume, you're looking at
it completely differently. If he doesn't have the style that
he did have.
Speaker 2 (54:30):
You're definitely not dude. I mean, look at look at
Oscar de la Hoya. He lost pretty much every big
fight that he ever had. I mean in terms of
against other name brand, huge name, you know, Hall of
Fame fighters. There there's a man in the arena element
(54:52):
to it. And when you look at anybody that might
that got put in front of Mike Tyson put down
aside from Buster Douglas, but obviously there was crazy personal
stuff going on with him. The man went to jail,
came out like it has had drug addictions, family, I mean,
(55:14):
and then when you go see his personal show, the
fact that this dude is even alive and a functional
human being now is absolutely incredible.
Speaker 3 (55:24):
Yeah, but you're taking in a much different direction. I'm
just talking about his boxing career because he was.
Speaker 2 (55:30):
The most feared man on the planet. Nobody wanted to
fight him.
Speaker 3 (55:33):
He was feared because he's the male Ronda Rousey that
oh stop you are, and the.
Speaker 2 (55:42):
Ronda Rousey was obviously she was knocking people out. But
even when then when crazy people were like she could
beat Floyd, I was like, Bro, that wasn't talking about that,
because because she was at the beginning of a sport
like she he was on the forefront of women's MMA.
(56:02):
If she had to go fight, you know, the equivalent
of Amanda Newnz.
Speaker 3 (56:08):
Now, bro, she would get or destroyed. Yeah, no doubt,
Paul got destroyed by Holly Holms. She'd get killed by Newnz. Yeah, destroyed. Yes,
I'm just telling you style matters a lot. If you're
an athlete that has great, great style, we will put
you on a higher pedestal. That's the way it works.
And if you're a great athlete and you lack style,
(56:31):
that pedestal is not gonna.
Speaker 2 (56:33):
Be as high in the eyes of a lot of people.
I would agree with that.
Speaker 3 (56:36):
That's the way it goes, all right, comeing up next.
This is one of the worst excuses you will ever hear.
I'm Brian Know. He's George Reister. Keep it locked right
here on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (56:46):
I'm Brian Know.
Speaker 3 (56:47):
He's George Reister here on Fox Sports Radio. We're coming
to you live from the tire rack dot Com studios. So, George,
there is a member of John Morant's camp that says
that gun in the second gun video on social media
it's toy gun, not a real gun. Jaw was suspended
(57:09):
for eight games the first time there was a social
media video involving him with a gun, and so the
second gun video it surfaced. Now he's facing a significant suspension.
Speaker 2 (57:23):
Now.
Speaker 3 (57:23):
Somebody from the camp just recently came out and said
it's a toy gun. Toy gun makes no sense to
me because there's no reason to apologize for something that
you didn't do wrong, you know what I mean? Like
Jo immediately came out and apologized and said, my bad, YadA, YadA, YadA.
You wouldn't be apologizing if that was a toy gun.
(57:45):
This is the worst excuse I've ever heard.
Speaker 2 (57:48):
Oh. First thing is even if it I actually think
that if it were a toy gun, that makes it
worse that When I first heard that, I was like, oh,
so you think that makes it better. You think that
that oh oh it was a toy gun. That that No,
(58:08):
Now it makes us believe that you're a willful idiot.
Now that instead of just being young and immature, you
made some mistakes, that you're going down the wrong path
now and that and where we can separate the person
from what they did. Now we're like, I don't know
(58:29):
if this dude that smart.
Speaker 10 (58:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (58:31):
Now now he's intentionally being like that, he's mocking the process.
Now that his answer was, oh yeah, I'm gonna put
this toy gun up. So first thing is I don't
believe it was a toy gun. The second thing is
if it was a toy gun, now now I got
a whole another set of problems because that means that
(58:53):
you would understand the temperature in the room, and you're like,
I don't, I don't care, but do what I want anyway,
I am going to thumb my nose up at what's happening,
and I'm not taking it nearly as serious as I
need to, right So, either I actually think the toy
(59:14):
gun would be more concerning than an actual gun.
Speaker 3 (59:18):
Wow, that's interesting. It's interesting where you're going with that.
I think that first off, this is not like the
old MTV show Punked, you know what I mean, where
Ashton Kutcher just shows up and it's.
Speaker 2 (59:29):
Like, oh, I was a toy gun.
Speaker 3 (59:31):
Ah, no suspension. That's not the way it's gonna go
down at all. If that even were the case, I
don't believe for a second it is. But that's a
it's an intriguing thought by you, mister reister. Is which
is worse? I would still say the real gun is
worse because you're making the same mistake twice. And listen,
(59:51):
we've seen all the shooting tragedies and you just can't
make that mistake. You gotta be smarter than that. So
I think the real gun is a worse mistake. But
to your point, if that was actually a fake gun,
what is the thought process exactly where you're just kind
(01:00:11):
of trying to walk up to the line without without
walking over it, even though you're doing a what do
they call it the broad jump at the NFL combine
over the line. It makes no sense either way, bro.
Speaker 2 (01:00:25):
He Now, at some point in time, at some point
in time, somebody's got to be the adult in the room.
And and if that were a toy gun, that means
that that the decisions are so poor.
Speaker 3 (01:00:44):
Well, and that's the thing too, George, is both you
and I we don't think it was a toy gun. No,
but this just shows you who's in his inner circle
shouldn't be in the inner circle. Who says I got it,
I got it it was a toy gun. And they're like,
run with that. Yes, what kind of innerse.
Speaker 2 (01:01:04):
That'll be the answer. Toy gun.
Speaker 8 (01:01:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:01:08):
So so now they can't get you for having a
real gun because it's a toy gun, as as opposed
to being like, oh, oh, so you wanted me to
think that you broke the law. You want me to
think that you broke our house rules? Oh no, no, no, dude,
that's like if if my kid, if if he broke
(01:01:32):
curfew right, and then and then he gets in trouble
for breaking curfew. He's like, Dad, I'm never gonna do
it again, blah blah blah blah blah. And then he
gets caught breaking curfew again. And then it's like, no, no, Dad,
I wasn't. Look look, there is a a toy dump.
(01:01:54):
It was. It was really me in the bed. I
just put the toy dummy there any Like, I don't care.
So you wanted me to think that, like like, and
it wasn't a joke. You wanted me to think this,
and you're caught on tape out to nah nah player,
we got it. You still got consequences of repercussions for
(01:02:17):
this because we not doing this.
Speaker 3 (01:02:20):
Yeah. This was Adam Silver, NBA commissioner. He was a
guest on the Dan Patrick Show. This is what he
had to say if it even was a toy gun,
with that matter in terms of the league's eyes in
the upcoming suspension.
Speaker 8 (01:02:34):
I'm aware, of course, of his reports on social media
about you know, whether the gun was in fact a
gun and so we haven't completely wrapped it up.
Speaker 3 (01:02:41):
Does that matter as commissioner, if that's a toy gun.
Speaker 1 (01:02:45):
You know, it's interesting.
Speaker 8 (01:02:46):
It's the very issue is for Jos certainly in the
first incident, was treating a gun as a toy.
Speaker 1 (01:02:57):
That's what we're.
Speaker 8 (01:02:57):
Talking about, and that's what I think the danger is
to society taking a gun live streaming it, you know,
without getting into gun issues in terms of the propriety
of owning guns and the use of guns. I think
everyone agrees that gun safety is critically important and that
guns aren't toys. So it's something that I'm thinking a
(01:03:18):
lot about because again I'm not going to get into
the specifics of the investigation, but in fact, if you
are live streaming something that to the world looks exactly
like a gun and in a frankly reckless manner, should
it matter whether or not it's.
Speaker 3 (01:03:34):
A real gun, He's still going to get suspended for
a long time. Oh either way, that's the bottom line.
And this the latest curveball here with someone from his
team saying, oh, toy gun. I wonder if John Morant's
ever going to figure it out and ever going to
get back on t.
Speaker 2 (01:03:50):
He's still young, he's twenty three, so there's still plenty
of time. However, that does not mean that you are
immune from consequence of bad decisions.
Speaker 3 (01:04:01):
Yeah, I hope he figures it out. Like that dude
is incredibly talented. I'd hate for him to flush a
promising career down the toilet for what exactly? You know,
So I hope he does figure it out. But it's
a story like this where these are the dudes that
are in his ear, like somebody in his inner circle
said I know what we'll do. We'll run with it
(01:04:22):
was a toy gun Like that makes me question, are
you being advised by the coldest beers in the fridge exactly?
Speaker 2 (01:04:31):
You know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (01:04:32):
Like, these don't sound like the sharpest knives.
Speaker 2 (01:04:35):
In the in the uh in the cabinet over there.
That's homeboy logic.
Speaker 3 (01:04:41):
That's not that's not that's this is a business.
Speaker 2 (01:04:45):
Yeah, that's not even friend like, that's not friend logic,
because what an actual friend tells John Moran is bro like,
we can't be doing this, bro like, you are about
to ruin the whole entire party. I I had a
friend t K who rest rest in peace, and our
(01:05:05):
thing was and he should always well, I mean, granted,
I had a good self regulator. But there were a
couple of times he was like, nah, nah, George, let
me drive home. And granted we we were young, dumb.
This is before uber bad bad mistakes at times, and
he'd be like, let let me drive home and I
(01:05:27):
was like, nah, bro. He was like, no, dude, because
if you get in trouble, the party's over. But if
I get in trouble, just bail me out. The lights
aren't on if you go to jail.
Speaker 3 (01:05:42):
George. Yes, Now, he says, who was your friend? Was
it TK?
Speaker 2 (01:05:47):
You said, YESK, was it TK?
Speaker 3 (01:05:49):
Who also said no, no, no, George, give me the
velveted cheese. You don't eat the velveted cheese. Is that
what happened?
Speaker 2 (01:05:55):
Also? Yes, he absolutely would have said that. He would
have thrown those tacos out of the window, like he like,
they deserve to be.
Speaker 3 (01:06:03):
Hey, man, you need those people that keep you on
the right right path right there, no doubt keeping us
on the right path. One Moncey Belanos information galore delivered
with only the style she has. Moncey, what's going on here?
Speaker 6 (01:06:17):
Guys? I don't know who's stupider. It's not a word stupider.
Speaker 7 (01:06:21):
Jon Moran's people Mariah Mills or Connor McGregor.
Speaker 6 (01:06:26):
I don't. I don't know who's stupider guys.
Speaker 7 (01:06:29):
Connor McGregor, you know, punched unfortunately the heats mascot Bernie
in Game four.
Speaker 2 (01:06:34):
This was soft, that's what's going on. Soft.
Speaker 7 (01:06:38):
No, no, no, no, no, Connor McGregor, Why would you punch
anything with force?
Speaker 6 (01:06:44):
I don't get it.
Speaker 7 (01:06:45):
This was supposed to be some scort, some sort of
skit to promote like some sort of pain relief spray,
and this happened during Game four.
Speaker 6 (01:06:53):
Poor Bernie had to go to the local hospital.
Speaker 7 (01:06:56):
He was treated for injuries, but the athletic is reporting
that he's good. If there's a game six, he'll be
there ready.
Speaker 6 (01:07:05):
To cheer on the Miami Heat. If there is a
game six.
Speaker 3 (01:07:08):
I think old Bernie's gonna be in an empty arena.
Speaker 6 (01:07:12):
Yeah, I agree with you. I think so too.
Speaker 7 (01:07:15):
But at least he's he's okay. That's the point of this.
But seriously, even this was a skit, So why would
Connor McGregor put any sort of omph into this punch?
Speaker 3 (01:07:25):
Why he really didn't?
Speaker 2 (01:07:27):
I think he hit his.
Speaker 6 (01:07:28):
Head probably Yeah, well duh. Obviously the head isn't where
the head of the mascot is. This person's probably shorter.
Speaker 2 (01:07:34):
No, no, no, no, no, I'm saying that he probably hid
his head on the ground.
Speaker 3 (01:07:38):
Right, Bernie. Bernie did this to Bernie?
Speaker 6 (01:07:41):
Bernie did this to Bernie.
Speaker 7 (01:07:43):
No, I'm gonna blame I'm gonna blame Connor McGregor.
Speaker 2 (01:07:46):
Bernie, dude. I mean because if you saw they were
he was laying down on the ground, huh. And they
basically dragged them off, And it reminded me of Weekend
that Bernie, like in, is there a movie premise that's
more unbelievable than that?
Speaker 6 (01:08:04):
No, I'm probably not.
Speaker 3 (01:08:07):
Never seen it.
Speaker 6 (01:08:08):
You never seen it?
Speaker 1 (01:08:09):
Sorry?
Speaker 2 (01:08:10):
Okay, So Weekend at Bernie's is about two kids who, uh,
who carry around a dead body all weekend and pretend
like he's alive. Right, I mean they go to the beach,
they go, yeah, they go everywhere.
Speaker 6 (01:08:26):
Super ridiculous, but it's so funny.
Speaker 3 (01:08:30):
I have to check it out.
Speaker 6 (01:08:31):
You do, you do? It's super super funny, But yes,
they did. He when he goes on the ground, McGregor
hits him again.
Speaker 2 (01:08:37):
Yeah, barely. He doesn't even really hit him. Bernie.
Speaker 3 (01:08:42):
I lost all respect for Bernie.
Speaker 7 (01:08:43):
This dude, I want to see you put on a
mascot outfit.
Speaker 2 (01:08:49):
There is only one thing that will determine if this
is soft or not. One thing. If Bernie tries to
get some money up out of Connor, then then yes
it is. It is absolutely weak as him if if
if he if he tries to get if he sues Connor,
(01:09:11):
oh yeah, or the or the.
Speaker 6 (01:09:13):
Team or the team.
Speaker 3 (01:09:15):
Yes, he went to the er.
Speaker 2 (01:09:17):
Yeah, and they gave him pain medication. That's it. They
ain't broken bones. Here's some here's some advil.
Speaker 3 (01:09:25):
Here Bernie and tough.
Speaker 2 (01:09:27):
Saw what happened to to uh Davante Adams, right, dude
said he for his life. Man, if you don't get
the hell out of it, I would have rather I
would have rather that that. He just called my lawyer
and was like, hey, yo, you pushed me down. I
need you to rub me a check. I mean, like
(01:09:49):
better than I feared for my life. Like come on, man, stop, I.
Speaker 6 (01:09:54):
Mean Devant Adams is a big dude. But yes, no,
I hear you, I hear you. I'm just kidding. I
hear you.
Speaker 7 (01:09:59):
Three games go going on right now in Rajor League Baseball, Fellas,
the Giants all over the Cubs. It's ten to three
bottom of the seventh inning in San Francisco. Angels still
holding onto their lead over the Mariners, seven to four,
bottom of the seventh in LA I would be really
annoyed if I was the Rockies right now. The Padres
and the Rockies are playing in Colorado. It's the bottom
(01:10:19):
of the ninth inning. The Rockies were down by one run.
They managed to tie the game, and they've been on
a rain delay since, so we're just waiting. But they
tied the game bottom of the ninth inning.
Speaker 6 (01:10:31):
I would be so annoyed.
Speaker 7 (01:10:32):
Obviously, all of your momentum is probably gone at this point.
The Marlins got momentum in the ninth inning though. Today
against the White Sox, they scored three runs, came out
on top six to five. Luis Aries, which is how
you say it, guys, not arise. Louis Aries went one
for five today, So now are back.
Speaker 2 (01:10:52):
Don't have a perfect Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:10:55):
I just was telling the guys so Rich and Steve
Hartman had on palm a rossion and Hartman was like,
how do you say this guy's name? Because I hear
it differently every single time. And a couple of days ago.
I was doing an update and I was like, how
do you say.
Speaker 6 (01:11:09):
This guy's name. I would say Arise, That's how I
would say it.
Speaker 7 (01:11:12):
And I kept hearing everybody say a rise, so I'm stupid,
and I was like, I don't want to be stupid,
so I said a rise the first time I said
his name in an update, and then today John Palmerros
was like, no, it's Arise, and.
Speaker 6 (01:11:23):
I was like, ah, it is. I knew it was,
but I didn't know. I was like, maybe it is
a rise. Maybe that's how he pronounces it, so it
was it just you.
Speaker 7 (01:11:30):
I also took the stupid road and called him a
rise the first day, but he went one for five today,
so he is now batting below four hundred.
Speaker 6 (01:11:39):
He is batting three ninety seven.
Speaker 2 (01:11:44):
Correct, get him, get him.
Speaker 6 (01:11:45):
Out of here, three ninety seven.
Speaker 7 (01:11:47):
I know, I know, but it was the Mets who
lost earlier today to the Pirates. Andrew McCutchen did record
his two thousandth career hit. New York has lost eight
out of their last nine, but owner Steve Cohen did
speak to The New York Post and he said he's
not gonna blow up the team over their poor start.
To the season and insisted that manager Buck Showalter is
not in danger of being fired.
Speaker 6 (01:12:08):
Are they lost?
Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
Tend the good old motor confidence back to you guys.
Speaker 3 (01:12:14):
Thank you, Bozi, Brian though and George Reister with you
here right on Fox Sports Radio. Now this mascot thing
that Monsei brings up, George, So, like you said, this
was Game four, there's a time out in play, and
so Connor McGregor, you know, mister mma UFC champion, it's
during a time out, is going to do a little
(01:12:36):
skit with Bernie, the Miami Heat mascot. And so Bernie's
got his boxing gloves on. Connor McGregor gives him a
little left hook, Bernie goes down, then he gives him
a little take that with you little ground and bound
one more shot quote unquote shot, and then he sprays
(01:12:57):
this new it's like pain relieving spray. I think it's
called Title t id L. It's this new spray that
Connor McGregor is promoting. And so that's the bit, Like
the public address announcer is in on it. He's like,
oh Bert, Bernie's wearing these fake boxing gloves. It's a bit.
And so like Connor because he's got this reputation as
(01:13:19):
an MMA guy and a loose cannon, and it's like,
we think that he hit him with all his mind.
He barely taps him on the head. I think you're right, George,
I think Bernie did this to Bernie.
Speaker 2 (01:13:31):
I think he got hurt falling.
Speaker 4 (01:13:33):
Man.
Speaker 2 (01:13:34):
I think you're right.
Speaker 3 (01:13:35):
So he goes to the er they gave him pain
medication and said, come on, dude, are you serious?
Speaker 2 (01:13:39):
Right now?
Speaker 3 (01:13:40):
Now this has gone to another level. Heat Head coach
Eric Spolstra was asked about the mascot Bernie. Listen to
this exchange.
Speaker 2 (01:13:50):
First time I've ever asked a question like this. What
does it say about your mascot that he could take
a punch from Connor McGregor, bounce back and still be
ready to go, likely in the next home game.
Speaker 11 (01:14:00):
Mimi, he toughness that we're talking about. They should have
been allowed to, you know, take the first swing. Yeah,
we won't reveal who who that is, but he's tough.
You can take a punch and get back up, and yeah,
he's not gonna miss any time.
Speaker 3 (01:14:17):
Bernie soft, I'm here to say it, man.
Speaker 2 (01:14:19):
S F. No, I'm not calling himself man. If he
if he misses the next game, then sure, I mean
he he could have ended up with his stinger or
something like that. You know, he's not used to being
an athlete soft, even though mascots typically do get bruised
(01:14:42):
up a little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:14:43):
Oh yeah, like when they're doing some of this stuff.
For sure, Rocky the Denver Nuggets mascot. Love me some
some Rocky the behind the back half court shots. You know,
remember the old the Gorilla for the Phoenix Suns was amazing.
You're doing all these high wire acts. Bernie gives mascot's
a bad name. I'm here to tell you it's it's pathetic.
(01:15:04):
He went to the er after that, terrible. I think
you're right, George. I think this is possibly a cash grab.
He sees dollar signs over there, Bernie. Who what was it?
Was the Baltimore Ravens mascot. You know how they sometimes
have a game with little kids. I think the Ravens
mascot tore his acl I think it's a real story.
(01:15:24):
He got tackled from by somebody and jacked himself up.
I'm pretty sure that's right. John Harbaugh was talking about it,
the head coach, and if you take tearry your acl.
You get my sympathy, but Bernie, no sympathy. That was
weak week by him. All right, coming up next, that's
a sad but true.
Speaker 2 (01:15:43):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:15:44):
We'll find out very soon how badly these players want
to join certain teams. Some details for you coming up.
I'm Brian No. He's George Reister. This is Fox Sports Radio.
I'm Brian No. He's George Reister here on Fox Sports Radio,
coming to you live from the Tirack dot com studios. So,
George Chris Paul of the Phoenix Suns in limbo over
(01:16:08):
here where WOJ Adrian Warzanowski. He had some details. This
is before Game four, the last game in the NBA Finals,
Denver one. This is what WOJ had to say about
Chris Paul's status with the Phoenix Suns as we speak
right now here.
Speaker 12 (01:16:23):
He is your organization should use the waven stretch provision
on his contract prior to the June twenty eight date
to guarantee his contract.
Speaker 2 (01:16:34):
If he's waved ahead of.
Speaker 12 (01:16:36):
That date, his sons only owe him fifteen of the
thirty million dollars on his seal.
Speaker 2 (01:16:41):
That creates some salary cap space.
Speaker 3 (01:16:44):
Okay, all right, so we might see the waven stretch
provision and the Suns would only be on the hook
for half of what they owe him. Now, the second
part to that is where does Chris Paul want to go?
This is WOJ again on ABC.
Speaker 12 (01:17:00):
Christ Paul wants to remain with the Suns. He wants
to be back with Devin Booker.
Speaker 1 (01:17:05):
With Kevin Durant.
Speaker 12 (01:17:07):
But right now, for the Suns, they want to look
at a lot of alternatives, some options between now and
the twenty eighth, including trade possibilities.
Speaker 3 (01:17:18):
Okay, so he wants to be with the Sons. This
is where my mind goes, George. You'll hear athletes say
I want to be here, and my immediate thought is,
how badly, how badly do you want to be there?
If the money is less at that place than it
is at another place? You know, how badly does Chris
Paul really want to be in Phoenix? If he can
(01:17:42):
make more.
Speaker 2 (01:17:42):
Money, ain't going to be that money ain't gonna be
that much less because well, actually it ain't gonna be
less because he's getting all He's getting all that cash
this year. So it's just a matter of how much
that the team has to pay and all it is.
Speaker 3 (01:17:59):
What it's like right there. If they go waving stretch,
you know they're trying to get him Phoenix, trying to
get him for a fraction of what they owe him.
Is he gonna be okay with that? Does he really
want to remain in Phoenix if that's the case, or
does it feel like you know what, you're trying to
get me at a discount over it?
Speaker 2 (01:18:14):
No, if Chris Paul it does not get the entire
amount due to him, you can book. He'll be in LA.
That's the thing, right That's where Bush comes to shop.
Do you still really want to be there? Guess who's
in in in Los Angeles?
Speaker 3 (01:18:36):
Well, there's a lot in Los Angeles.
Speaker 2 (01:18:38):
His family is in Los Angeles. His kids go to
school here. So you mean to tell me that this
dude is if if Phoenix is playing with that bread
and he's like, or I can come back to LA.
There's great golf in LA. There's great I can see
my kids more. I would be willing to bet you
(01:19:00):
that Chris Paul would sign up to be with the
Lakers instead of going back to Phoenix.
Speaker 3 (01:19:08):
Yeah. Well, and it gets me thinking about a couple
of guys who are free agents in the NFL. You
have wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. He has recently said, oh,
I'd love to team up with Patrick Mahomes, love to
team up with Josh Allen, the Bills quarterback. And it's like, well,
they don't have a whole lot of salary cap space,
So how badly do you want to be there when
(01:19:29):
it comes with the financial haircut?
Speaker 2 (01:19:31):
You know?
Speaker 3 (01:19:32):
Dalphn Cook the running back, he posted a picture of
him in the Dolphin Stadium. He's a Miami native. If
the money is lesser there and greater somewhere else, like,
how badly does he want.
Speaker 2 (01:19:43):
To be in Miami. That's what it comes down to,
and we'll find out.
Speaker 3 (01:19:46):
We'll find out how badly those players want to be
at those places that they say they want to be at.
Speaker 2 (01:19:52):
Yeah. Man, I mean it's not even how badly, it's
just I need my bread that.
Speaker 3 (01:19:59):
Goes into it. Cover it up next? Who of these
three will make the biggest impact. We got some players
on the move, and we've got a radio host on
the move as well. We are broadcasting live from the
Tirack dot Com studios tirac dot Com. We'll help get
you there. An unmatched selection fast, free shipping, free road
(01:20:22):
hazard protection no. For ten thousand recommended installers tirack dot com.
The way tire buying should be all right, George, Before
we get to the power rankings of a few NFL
free agents here on the move, I want to speak
about you on the move. How's the move going?
Speaker 2 (01:20:40):
There, George, man is going it's going We need far along?
Are we here?
Speaker 3 (01:20:46):
What percentage would you say?
Speaker 2 (01:20:48):
I would say we are okay in terms of live
So I'm sleeping in the new house, right, uh huh.
But I still have reasons to go to the old
house because I still have to work at the old house,
because everything's not fully set set up because we are
(01:21:11):
we decided, so all the furniture is not in the
new house because I pretty much didn't take any furniture
from the old house to the new house.
Speaker 3 (01:21:22):
Okay, so we're commuting here and there. How how long
is the commute between.
Speaker 2 (01:21:27):
These two houses? Sixteen minutes?
Speaker 3 (01:21:29):
Oh, that's not bad. That's not bad at all. So
you go over to the old house, you knock out
a show, You go to the new house, you live
in the life.
Speaker 2 (01:21:39):
No, no, actually not, because I'm paying for two houses
at one time. Okay, So how much longer you got
to sell that? You gotta sell that thing there. No,
I'm not. I'm not renting this thing out.
Speaker 3 (01:21:52):
We got to rent it out.
Speaker 2 (01:21:53):
Okay, Yeah, there you go.
Speaker 3 (01:21:55):
That's not bad. Yeah, little B and B reister styles.
Hang up the eighty seven Ravens Jersey you know.
Speaker 2 (01:22:03):
No, no, no, there will be no remnants of that
in this house, buddy.
Speaker 3 (01:22:08):
No, okay, not gonna do that, all right.
Speaker 2 (01:22:10):
Because that just invites problems. Yeah no, yeah, you don't
want to do that. No, no, no, no, that makes you
a target. Bro.
Speaker 3 (01:22:19):
Go incognito, man, much better. Exactly, incognito right there, exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:22:23):
House must be in the trust name everything like like
a stay away from me. I don't want you knowing
I own anything. Yeah, I hear you, man.
Speaker 3 (01:22:31):
Okay, So we go from your move to some NFL
players on the move. This is what I want to know, George.
We've got two free agents and one former free agent
that is found a home. I want the power rankings
of who you think will be the most productive this
upcoming season. Okay, we have Odell Beckham Junior. He signed
(01:22:54):
with the Baltimore Ravens. We know where he is We've
got two other big names on the open market right now.
We don't know where they're gonna land yet. That's the
twist right here, and that makes it a little bit
tougher to predict. But we've got wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins
and we've got running back Dalvin Cook. If you're looking
(01:23:14):
at the power rankings of production, how would you sort
it out between Obj, Dalvin and DeAndre Ooh.
Speaker 2 (01:23:26):
I am going to go with Odell one, okay, Cook two, yeah,
and Hopkins three. But that doesn't mean that I think
that there's gonna be some huge I just think Odell's
gonna have a really good year, and then I think
(01:23:47):
that Dalvin Cook's gonna rush for eleven hundred yards like
he always does except for one year, and then you're
gonna have, you know, Hopkins get eight to nine hundred yards.
Speaker 3 (01:23:59):
Okay. I don't think that's you know, unreasonable at all.
I think that makes a lot of sense. That could
absolutely be the way it goes. I'm so curious to
see what Odell Beckham Junior does with Lamar Jackson. If
you think about the second acl with Obj and Lamar,
Lamar has not put up gaudy passing numbers. Okay, he
(01:24:21):
had his unanimous MVP season. That was a long time ago,
and he was tremendous that year, take nothing away, thirty
six touchdowns, six interceptions. But the last two years, George,
thirty three to twenty picks. I just when you look
at Lamar compared to the league leading quarterbacks, I just
(01:24:41):
don't know how good Odell's back, Odell's numbers can be
in that offense.
Speaker 2 (01:24:47):
Dude, Lamar is gonna throw for four thousand yards this year,
four thousand four. Thouow book it, book it.
Speaker 3 (01:24:57):
Wait a minute, the last time you booked something, I
had a flashback to miss Winston's gonna throw like thirty
touchdown passes.
Speaker 2 (01:25:06):
I said that he was going to be the starter there, which.
Speaker 3 (01:25:08):
He was, and you said he's gonna throw thirty. Yeah,
that's the last I had a flashback to you booking
something there, George.
Speaker 2 (01:25:17):
Yeah, Man, he got hurt, he got it. Listen. I
can't do anything about injuries.
Speaker 3 (01:25:24):
I would like to put a steak on this, if
you're inclined, George, I'm taking the under on Lamar with four.
Speaker 2 (01:25:31):
Yeah. Yeah it put it put in the group, Chet,
put it in the group.
Speaker 3 (01:25:35):
Chet, I let the record show him three and one
since the steak bets here, I have a three to
one commanding nuggets, like three to one commanding lead over here.
But I'm taking the under on Lamar, even though he's
got some more weapons over there. He's got Odell Beckham Junior,
got say flowers there, Yeah, but the most he's thrown.
Speaker 2 (01:25:59):
And I don't want this to be a running total.
So so I think that we need to square up
and then and then get going hand because when I causin,
because when I want a steak, I need that.
Speaker 3 (01:26:12):
Well, hey, you got to hook me up with the steaks, George.
Speaker 2 (01:26:16):
I got you. Just just let me know how you
how you would like them.
Speaker 3 (01:26:20):
And I got you, Okay, Like, what are you gonna.
Speaker 2 (01:26:23):
Send you some damn actually some uh some like omaha
steaks or something.
Speaker 3 (01:26:29):
You're gonna ship them out over here?
Speaker 2 (01:26:31):
Yeah, I mean but absolutely, But I'm I'm actually afraid
of you cooking them, though.
Speaker 3 (01:26:38):
You have a good reason to be scared. I will
fully admit this is the fault of the five oh tree. Okay,
the five oh three otherwise known as Portland. The weather
sucks over there, okay, and so out of like they're
only two and a half months where the weather's good
in that area. The other time it's awful. So like
I wouldn't babysit my steaks on the deck, I would
(01:27:01):
go in and try to warm up, and meanwhile they're
just being singed. So I'm I'm to be trusted now, George.
Everything is fine. Right now, I'll babysit these things. They'll
be cooked to perfection.
Speaker 2 (01:27:13):
Are close? Okay?
Speaker 3 (01:27:14):
Yeah, okay, cool, Yeah, I'll hit you with the temporary address.
Everything's temporary as far as that goes.
Speaker 2 (01:27:22):
But yeah, I'm gonna go or or do you? Or
do you or do you want a restaurant? Either way,
it's up to you.
Speaker 3 (01:27:29):
Either way, we'll talk offline. We'll figure it out for sure.
I like that idea. I'm gonna go here. You tell
me if this is radical or not. George, I'm going
Dalvin I, followed by Odell and then DeAndre HOWK.
Speaker 2 (01:27:42):
Of course that's not radical, that's not I mean, if
he's the I just don't know where he's going to
be the starting running back at that's the that's you'd
be the guy in Miami. He'd start in Miami. Wait,
who did my Miami pick up in the off season.
Speaker 3 (01:27:59):
Well, they ran it back with Mostart and Jeff Wilson,
so he would be the starter. Yeah, they're not starting
Mostar over Dalvin Cook, probably not. And in Denvermberams.
Speaker 2 (01:28:14):
You gotta remember too that this is Mike Mike McDaniels,
this is Kyle Kyle shanahan. Guys don't rush for a
thousand yards because they they do this back by committee thing.
Speaker 3 (01:28:24):
Absolutely, it's running committee.
Speaker 2 (01:28:26):
You might as well have Bill Belichick as your coach so.
Speaker 3 (01:28:29):
That Dalvin would be nice in his own scheme. Absolutely,
be nice in that system. I think he's going to Miami, you, George,
I think he's gonna end up there.
Speaker 2 (01:28:42):
No, I don't know, because I think his car his
catchup is gonna be about money. M hmmm.
Speaker 3 (01:28:53):
Well, the Dolphins tried to trade for him back in
March and it didn't work out, so they're certainly interesting.
Did so if the money is, you know, comparable to
other teams offers, I think he's gonna go to Miami.
That's my hunches. He ends up in South Beach. We'll
see how that shakes out.
Speaker 2 (01:29:13):
Now, I wouldn't I wouldn't mind it, but I think
that that accelerates people saying his careers, that his days
have a big time back are over just because because yeep, yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:29:26):
How about this your guy, Lebron James, he was over
at the twenty four hours of Lamon's and that's how
it sounded on Eurosport check this out speaking French over there, lbj.
Speaker 1 (01:29:44):
Did you ever.
Speaker 3 (01:29:45):
Think in any of our time here at Lamar.
Speaker 4 (01:29:48):
You'd see Lebron James drivers start your engines.
Speaker 3 (01:29:52):
Yeah, that's what he did. He was a guest over there,
waved the flag to get it going, you know, start
your injuries.
Speaker 2 (01:29:59):
And is over there too, and you know what that means, right,
what's that They're not over there just for no damn
car car racing. They they over there talking about some money,
that's what they over there talking.
Speaker 3 (01:30:14):
About business deals.
Speaker 2 (01:30:15):
Yes, Lebron James, who is an investor in the Finnway
Sports Group, who is who owns part of soccer teams
and all of that stuff. Bro, So he's a part
owner of the Red Sox and now he's he's trying
to figure out how much money can I can I
make in the next two years? That way, then that
(01:30:38):
that that way, then when he is gifted the uh,
the Las Vegas basketball team. The way he's square squared
away in Goods Go. That's why he's putting himself around
ownership people, because he will be the owner of a
basketball team while he's still employed by the NBA.
Speaker 3 (01:31:00):
How about Brady, So he was at the twenty four
Hours of le Mon's like you mentioned, George. He was
also at the French Open. He was congratulating Djokovic. He's
all over the place that Tom Brady.
Speaker 2 (01:31:12):
Hey, man, he's enjoying retirement.
Speaker 3 (01:31:16):
He's enjoying being single.
Speaker 2 (01:31:17):
Also, I don't know if he's enjoying that part of it.
He's he's giving me I want Giselle back vibes.
Speaker 3 (01:31:26):
Really, Yeah, that's the vibe you get from him.
Speaker 2 (01:31:30):
Yeah, that's a vibe.
Speaker 3 (01:31:30):
I get what is it? It's a post here and there.
Speaker 2 (01:31:34):
Just it's just the energy. I think I think he
wants her back. I mean, but I'm not upset about that.
You know, he's you know, he's got a whole family there,
so you know, got some reaction. Kids might be interested
in it too.
Speaker 3 (01:31:51):
So yeah, he's listen, man, he's uh, he's enjoying it.
That's the best thing for him. I think this is
gonna be a tough year, first year away from being
an NFL player or just a football player in general.
Think about how much of his life when footballs around.
Speaker 2 (01:32:07):
Here having Yeah, yes, the vast majority of his life
has been playing football.
Speaker 3 (01:32:13):
I think this is the best thing is stay ultra busy,
you know, because that clock is gonna kick in. He's
got a football clock, and man, when that kicks in
and he's not playing football, he might be driving himself crazy.
I'd say, do exactly what he's doing. Man, go to
the French Open, go to the twenty four hours.
Speaker 2 (01:32:32):
Ever busy.
Speaker 3 (01:32:33):
Yes, I got a tweet here from Canard Georgia just said, Brian,
that was too harsh for you bashing the Heat mascot
on Fox Sports Radio. Just now, Uh, what did you think, George?
Was like? Too harsh? The story is cliffs notes version.
Connor McGregor just did a bit with the Miami Heat
(01:32:54):
mascot and he threw a punch quote unquote. The mascot
goes down like a ton of bricks. Mascot ends up
in the er, had to get checked out. He's fine,
Bernie soft, That's what I say, soft mascot. We gotta
replace Bernie. I thought this was heat culture over here.
I thought we had grit and tenacity and toughness.
Speaker 2 (01:33:13):
Hey, grit and tenacity. That don't mean that you don't
get hurt. It just means that when you do get
knocked on the ground, that you get back up and
you keep fighting.
Speaker 3 (01:33:23):
Man, Bernie Week, Sorry about that, Canarda. I hope it
didn't ruin your Sunday. But that's how I see it.
Speaker 8 (01:33:29):
All right.
Speaker 3 (01:33:29):
We got a lot to get to coming up next.
There are two stories that might make you both say
what what is happening here? That was my reaction. We'll
see what George thinks and we'll see what you think
as well. I'm Brian though he's George Reister. This is
Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian know he's George Reister. Here
on Fox Sports Radio. We're coming to you live from
(01:33:51):
the tire rack dot Com studios. So, George, the Toronto
Raptors have a new head coach. Don't how to pronounce
his name. I have no idea, No, I did I
do this a lot where I don't just wing it.
I try to figure out how you say it.
Speaker 2 (01:34:09):
And there are my dad, bro, Yeah, my dad in
that in that my dad can't pronounce anybody's name, right,
nobody does this, Like, what's up with that? Uh? With
the with the Gerald Tree, I was like Gerald Tree.
He was like, you know, the running back over at
(01:34:31):
usc Gerald Tree or or or or or Harold Cush.
I like Reggie Bush Like yeah him.
Speaker 3 (01:34:41):
Uh yeah, my dad will do that from time to time.
Speaker 2 (01:34:44):
Also, oh, it's it's not time to time, it is. Yeah,
it is a consistent thing.
Speaker 3 (01:34:52):
Well, this new guy for the Raptors, it's either this
dark O right Kovich, right Kovich, or it's is a
guy Royakovic.
Speaker 2 (01:35:02):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:35:03):
I have no idea, but they have named this guy
Darko Royakovic. I don't know, maybe their whole coach.
Speaker 2 (01:35:12):
What was the first option? First option, is this Darko Rykovich?
Right Kovich? No? No, And what's the second one?
Speaker 3 (01:35:21):
Option two? Royakovic?
Speaker 2 (01:35:25):
And that was wod saying it the second time?
Speaker 8 (01:35:28):
Right?
Speaker 3 (01:35:28):
No? No, it was someone from TSN, someone that covers
the Raptors, right, So that's right. So yeah, maybe Ryakovich.
I don't know, but anyway, they hired this dude. Think
about this. The first thing I thought about Connor McGregor,
Remember when Connor McGregor said, this is that guy, That's.
Speaker 2 (01:35:53):
What I thought about this.
Speaker 3 (01:35:54):
Dude, Dude, you kicked Nick Nurse to the curb for
Ryakovic or whoever. He was a Memphis Grizzly's assistant. He's
been an assistant coach forever and now he's the new
guy with the Toronto Raptors.
Speaker 2 (01:36:07):
So really, look, I'll meet him halfway.
Speaker 3 (01:36:10):
George. My reaction when they got rid of Dwayne Casey
and hired Nick Nurse, I was like, this, really, and
he turned out to win a championship. Nick Nurse did
a very good job overall, I think. So they're trying
to Nick nurse this thing again. They got rid of
Nick Nurse to try to find the next Nick Nurse,
and we'll see if Royakovic is that guy or not.
Speaker 2 (01:36:31):
Yeah. Now, a lot of people are always questioning when
it's somebody that you haven't heard of or somebody off
the radar. I actually think that those are probably the
best searchers. When it's people who have been in the
game for quite some time, who are good at what
they do and all of that. So I'm not going
(01:36:52):
to begrudge the higher I wasn't sure about the Nick
Nurse thing and that clearly worked. What but I mean,
I wonder though, too, how many people really wanted this
job because of because of the amount of well the
(01:37:14):
the lack of top tier talent on this team.
Speaker 3 (01:37:18):
Right, You've I mean you've got something to work with over.
Speaker 2 (01:37:21):
There, and the ability to see entice free agents.
Speaker 3 (01:37:26):
Yeah, that's rough. That's tough. Think about the swing it
took to get Kawhi. They're like, Okay, cool, we'll just
rent Kawhi for a year and hopefully it works out
that one year when the Raptors are going up against
the Warriors with Kevin Durant and they basically just rented
Kawhi for a year while the Raptors were going up
(01:37:47):
against a Warrior's team with kd That's crazy, and I
agree with you. It just shows you what you have
to do to get a superstar in Toronto.
Speaker 2 (01:37:58):
Yeah, they're ye flocking. You have to get lucky is
what you have to get.
Speaker 3 (01:38:02):
Yeah, and they did. They did with the injuries and
all of it.
Speaker 2 (01:38:05):
I mean, it took everything going their way to get Kawhi,
it really did.
Speaker 3 (01:38:11):
And for them to win a championship, this is crazy that.
Speaker 2 (01:38:14):
Yes, it took the Yes, it took the Warriors having
a season next season ending injuries to to Kevin Durant
and to Klay Thompson. That's what it took to win
a championship.
Speaker 3 (01:38:29):
Insane. And they'll spin it where they wanted to find
the next great young head coach, and that could be
the case. They did it before with Nick Nurse at
least being an assistant that was promoted to being a
head coach, so that might not just be lip service,
but they said, nah, we didn't want to run it
back with a guy like Mike Budenholzer, certainly not Doc Rivers.
(01:38:49):
They wanted to find the next young guy. So we'll
see if Royakovic will find out how to say his
name sometime here relatively soon, and we'll see if he's
the guy. But yeah, you bring up an interesting question, George,
is how appealing is that job exactly? And you've got
enough talent to be relevant, but do you have enough
talent to really get anywhere significant? And as it stands
(01:39:13):
right now, no, you don't.
Speaker 2 (01:39:16):
Not at all. And that's why Nick Nurse wanted out
of there.
Speaker 3 (01:39:20):
Yeah, and he's in a better spot right now talent wise.
What he has to work with with Embiid and MAXI.
We'll see with Harden whether he's there or not. But
you have you gotta have frontline players. You go with
an MVP winner like MB just one MVP, so you
leave Siakam and Scottie Barrs with leet and.
Speaker 2 (01:39:43):
Yeah, now, granted, who would you rather have? Though? That's
the that's the question because it because it's not like
Joel Ebid and that team. Now, granted that team is
significantly better, but if they don't get James Harden back
and he can't turn James Harden into a winner, how
(01:40:06):
does that work?
Speaker 3 (01:40:08):
Well, I'd rather have the better talent, and there's no
doubt it's in Philly. Granted there are challenges. They can't
get out of the second round at all, but that's
what I would like. I would rather take over the
more talented team. And look, man, if you go anywhere
with top talent, they're gonna be high expectations and if
you don't meet them, it's going to eventually be your job.
(01:40:29):
That's the way it goes. But you've got a chance,
you've got a chance to legitimately compete for a championship,
and you didn't have that in Toronto. I'll take the
roster where I can compete for a championship any day.
Speaker 2 (01:40:44):
Yeah, yeah, I definitely would too. Yeah, but I don't think.
I mean, I guess every every coach thinks that they
have the magic juice and that they are going to
be able to uh, that they're gonna be able to win,
to to like solve the problems. But uh, but that's
(01:41:08):
not the case there. I think in Philly is just
too much with James Harden.
Speaker 3 (01:41:14):
I know, but he's not He's not taken over for
like Popovich or Steve Curry's taken over for Doc. You know,
we might have more of a leg to stand on
to be like make a few adjustments bum coach. He's
just not you know, like he's not Pop That's all
(01:41:34):
I'm telling you is he's not on that upper echel line.
Speaker 2 (01:41:36):
Yeah that there are there's levels where Doc's a good coach.
Like you're gonna get competent play, you're gonna get you know,
in in the playoffs, but you're you're also at the
end of the day and at the end of your
playoff run, you're gonna get It's a make or miss league.
It's a maker miss league.
Speaker 3 (01:41:58):
Well, I just it can't just be a coincidence that
he's losing Game seven after game seven, after game seven,
that just it can't be a coincidence. I'm sorry, Like.
Speaker 2 (01:42:08):
Correct, That's what I'm saying. It's something. It's something about
him and what he's doing and kind of the mentality
because you constantly air it's a make or miss league.
It's a make or miss league, yes, yes it is,
but it's also an adjustment league. It is that if
you are continuing to make or miss, then something's up.
Speaker 3 (01:42:32):
No doubt, no doubt. It's gonna be really interesting with
all these head coaching hires. If you think about Nick
Nurse he takes over in Philly. Obviously he interviewed for
the Bucks job, and the Bucks they went with Adriene Griffin,
who is an assistant for Nick Nurse, and so Bucks
versus Sixers next season and beyond, that's gonna be really
(01:42:55):
something to watch, George, because we might circle back and
be like, hey might be better off with old Nick
Nurse right now instead of the first year head coach.
But Giannis was team Adrian Griffin, and so they said, Okay, Giannis,
let's do that. But that's something to watch in the
next few seasons for sure, and also not to mention
kicking Mike Budenholzer to the curb, who won a championship
(01:43:18):
and won seventy percent of his game. So all these
hires are gonna be really interesting next season and beyond.
Speaker 2 (01:43:24):
Can't wait.
Speaker 3 (01:43:24):
Yeah, okay, we got to get to the other story
that made me say, uh really, but first, Manzy Belanos,
what the latest? Are they playing baseball in Colorado yet?
Speaker 1 (01:43:35):
Bob?
Speaker 2 (01:43:36):
Oh?
Speaker 6 (01:43:36):
Yes, they started playing and it ended quickly.
Speaker 2 (01:43:40):
Rockies and Padres tied at four. Here in the bottom
of the ninth after long rain delay.
Speaker 1 (01:43:47):
That's gonna end right here.
Speaker 7 (01:43:49):
Oh, Nolan Jones crushes it.
Speaker 2 (01:43:56):
A winner.
Speaker 7 (01:43:58):
Yep, Nolan Jones four hundred and seventy two four. He
goes tired, He's like, I'm over this rain delay. Let's
wrap this up. So they ended up beating the Padres
five to four was the final score. One game currently
going on. It's the night game and it's the Boston
Red Sox taking on the Yankees in the Bronx Justin
(01:44:20):
Turner has started it off for the Red Sox.
Speaker 6 (01:44:23):
He just hit a homer, so they are up one zero.
Speaker 7 (01:44:25):
They're about to start the bottom of the second inning.
We had no basketball, no hockey. It's literally just been
baseball today. So we're gonna run it down because the
best team in baseball the Rays. They won another one
earlier today against the Rangers. It was seven to three.
They are now forty eight and twenty for the season.
Speaker 6 (01:44:44):
The Nationals avoided the sweep.
Speaker 7 (01:44:46):
They snapped the Braves seven game winning streak, coming out
on top six to two, but the Braves are still
in first place in the NL East, four games up
on the Marlins, and the Marlins scored three runs in
the ninth inning earlier today to beat the White Sox
six to five. Luis Arees only went one for five,
So now he's batting three ninety seven, no longer above
(01:45:06):
four hundred. But it's okay. He's got plenty of season left.
Speaker 3 (01:45:10):
By the way, Matzi, I need some some pointers. How
do you do that? How do you get that going right?
Speaker 7 (01:45:15):
You know what's funny is in Costa Rica, we do
not roll our ours.
Speaker 6 (01:45:20):
No we don't. We say Costa Rica, not Costa Rica.
Speaker 7 (01:45:24):
And so I learned when I was like around i
don't know, twenty years old, I was doing a commercial
in Chicago and Spanish for Walmart, and I learned right
there that when I didn't roll my rs, it sounded
like I didn't know how to speak Spanish.
Speaker 6 (01:45:39):
I was straight up told that, and I was.
Speaker 2 (01:45:41):
Like, what, yeah, I have actually Spanish.
Speaker 7 (01:45:45):
I was I speak better Spanish than most people. I
speak it properly. And then they were like, yeah, but
you don't roll your rs. I was like, yeah, we
don't roll our ours in Costa Rica.
Speaker 6 (01:45:53):
We don't do that. And so from that was like
twenty years old.
Speaker 7 (01:45:56):
And from that point on I made an effort when
speaking to a Spanish person to roll my R so
that I wasn't judged.
Speaker 6 (01:46:02):
How sad is that.
Speaker 9 (01:46:03):
I literally was.
Speaker 6 (01:46:04):
Told, this sounds like you don't know how to speak Spanish.
Speaker 7 (01:46:06):
Squeetze all right, yes, exactly what she said, exactly. Yeah,
so I we don't roll. Oh that sounded pretty good.
That sounded pretty good.
Speaker 2 (01:46:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:46:20):
So yeah, I don't know how to teach it. I don't.
I I just I don't know how to teach you
to start rolling them? Yeah, just start practice, start rolling?
Speaker 2 (01:46:29):
See with that, I don't I can't imagine you mad
Spanish fire. I would not even be able to understand
how madd like slow down so I can understand because
I'm a slow Spanish speaker, So yeah, I need you
(01:46:50):
to like slow that, slow that down so I can
fully understand your cuss out, yes and.
Speaker 6 (01:46:56):
Go to ego.
Speaker 7 (01:46:57):
We speak fast, so I have friends that speak Spanish,
and when me and my mom talked to each other,
they literally are like, what did you just say? We
couldn't understand you guys were talking so fast and they speak.
Speaker 6 (01:47:07):
Spanish too long. Yeah, oh fun, When are you going July? July?
It's not the greatest weather in Jolong No, no, I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (01:47:18):
Excuse you, excuse me, excuse me. It's like toward the
end of August.
Speaker 7 (01:47:23):
Okay, all right, r first, okay, okay, because you know
it is opposite.
Speaker 6 (01:47:28):
Of here, so when it's hot here, it's rainy season
over there. Yeah, but you'll still love it. You're gonna
have a great time.
Speaker 7 (01:47:34):
It is a giant rainforest, really is, with a bunch
of animals all over the place.
Speaker 6 (01:47:38):
It's awesome.
Speaker 7 (01:47:39):
You're gonna have a great time, just like the A's
have had a great time because they won five in
a row and they can get a sweep of the birds.
Speaker 2 (01:47:46):
No, I hate the winning because, like, mind you, I
have nothing against like the A's in general. They are
negative one ninety four on their run. Different show on
the season, like I want them to finish. I was
hoping that they would finish the season with like twenty wins.
Speaker 6 (01:48:06):
Oh yeah, no, they're all It.
Speaker 2 (01:48:08):
Cost me cash.
Speaker 3 (01:48:09):
Yesterday too, I bet on Milwaukee and they messed around
and won a two to one games.
Speaker 2 (01:48:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:48:17):
Did you bet on your Cardinals, Brian?
Speaker 2 (01:48:19):
I didn't.
Speaker 6 (01:48:20):
Oh good because they lost to the Reds four to three.
Speaker 3 (01:48:23):
The jack going on, oh you would love this.
Speaker 2 (01:48:26):
I'll finish.
Speaker 3 (01:48:27):
I'll give you this in a second. What Adam Wainwright said.
I gotta get the quote while you're finishing your thing.
Speaker 7 (01:48:32):
Okay, get that, laugh at this, get that, get that.
Arizona scored four runs in the ninth inning. They beat
Detroit seven to five. They're still first in the NL.
Speaker 6 (01:48:41):
Hour is good, I don't They won five in a
row two. Yeah, they're real good.
Speaker 2 (01:48:47):
And consistently diamond back.
Speaker 7 (01:48:51):
The Guardian shut out the Astros at home. Shane Bieber
pitched seven innings, only gave up three hits, and struck
out nine. The Pirates took down the Mets two to one,
Andrew McCutchen recorded two thousandth career hit in the win,
and the gun Show was on full display in Baltimore
because Ricky Gunner Henderson hit a three hundred or excuse me,
hit a three run, four hundred and sixty two foot homer,
(01:49:12):
and the Orioles outscored the Royals eleven to three.
Speaker 6 (01:49:14):
Mind just all these teams, You're just like, why, how
are they good? I don't understand the Phillies beat the Dodgers.
I can tell you why the Dodgers are losing because
we don't have a bullpen.
Speaker 7 (01:49:26):
Seven to three was the final score on that. The
Blue Chains defeated the Twins seven to six. The Angels
ended up topping the Mariners ninety four. Zach Neto homer twice.
So that's pretty neato.
Speaker 2 (01:49:39):
We beat the Angels to start losing and keep losing
the way the way they help to.
Speaker 3 (01:49:46):
No, neat the Angels need the Angels to keep winning
so I can cash my show. Hey, al MVP bet George.
Speaker 2 (01:49:53):
We can't get him to no, no, no, he can
win the MVP with them losing. Yeah that if he
goes to the NL, the National League. Yeah, in Los Angeles.
Speaker 6 (01:50:04):
Then I know last thing I'll take you aus. We're
talking about Tom Brady.
Speaker 7 (01:50:07):
Earlier today he was on a podcasters or not a podcasters,
a YouTuber's latest episode.
Speaker 6 (01:50:14):
I think it's called Mister Beast. The mister Beast guy
is like showing this.
Speaker 2 (01:50:18):
One hundred billion mister beasts.
Speaker 6 (01:50:20):
Hey, don't I'm not a big YouTuber.
Speaker 7 (01:50:22):
Is that he must be huge, right, like the huge
would be an underste Oh really, I'm not.
Speaker 2 (01:50:27):
I he does all these cool things for people, and
like one hundred percent of the proceeds that don't go
to like salaries and all of that stuff, he gives
it all right back away.
Speaker 6 (01:50:39):
Oh that's awesome.
Speaker 7 (01:50:39):
Yeah, I had not heard of him until this story
that he was showing off this like billion dollar yacht.
Speaker 2 (01:50:44):
Well, he was on the famous tuber.
Speaker 6 (01:50:46):
Oh no idea, no idea. So Tom Brady joins him
on this yacht and.
Speaker 7 (01:50:50):
Basically the YouTuber guy is like, hey, I'm gonna start
flying my drone.
Speaker 6 (01:50:54):
Let's see if you can hit it with the football.
Speaker 7 (01:50:56):
And Tom Brady says, if I get it on the
first try, maybe I should come out of retirement sit
on the first try.
Speaker 3 (01:51:02):
Oh gosh, maybe we'll be seen.
Speaker 2 (01:51:06):
I wonder if they do perfect that though?
Speaker 3 (01:51:09):
You know what I mean? Was that like his seventy
second try the quote unquote.
Speaker 2 (01:51:15):
See the problem with what that is is that you
you would need a lot of footballs fair because because
the football would then get wet, which would make it
increasingly harder to throw it accurate.
Speaker 3 (01:51:27):
Wow, think everything over there, you do?
Speaker 6 (01:51:30):
That was impressive.
Speaker 3 (01:51:32):
Maybe that was his sixth throw I have six football
or maybe it was just.
Speaker 2 (01:51:36):
His first throw, because have been times do perfect hits
it on the first one? Maybe, but how will we
know when it's legit or not?
Speaker 6 (01:51:44):
You know, I believe it every time.
Speaker 7 (01:51:45):
I believe this YouTuber that I've never heard of until today,
I believe him.
Speaker 3 (01:51:48):
Hey, by the way, Bonci see that quote from Adam Wainwright,
Cardinal's pitcher. So this was when they were twenty five
and thirty five sixty games. They're ten games under five hundred.
Since then, they're even worse. They're two and four since
that time. But anyway, he was asked about the Cardinals
underachieving and if he was worried about where they stood,
(01:52:09):
and he said, I don't think concerned is the right word.
I think pissed is the right word, is what Adam
wayIn Wright had to say about that.
Speaker 6 (01:52:17):
Which I understand. Yeah, yeah, I'd be pissed too.
Speaker 3 (01:52:20):
Yeah yeah, I echoed that echo that exactly, great stuff, Moncia.
Speaker 6 (01:52:24):
Likewise, Thatlla is always fun.
Speaker 2 (01:52:26):
Always fun, always are coming up? Mark you are you leaving?
What do you?
Speaker 6 (01:52:30):
Yeah? This is you're done in twenty minutes. So does
that mean I'm.
Speaker 2 (01:52:35):
You're supposed to stay with us. I will be.
Speaker 7 (01:52:37):
Here for twenty minutes, but then we are done.
Speaker 2 (01:52:41):
Thanks a lot, Monzi.
Speaker 1 (01:52:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:52:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (01:52:45):
Also when you said earlier, no.
Speaker 7 (01:52:47):
I have to pay for two houses, that was such
a flex?
Speaker 6 (01:52:49):
How was such a flex?
Speaker 3 (01:52:51):
You're talking about Rolex's one show and then then paying
for two houses.
Speaker 7 (01:52:56):
Yeah, unbelievable, Right, it's ridiculous. Send me a steak, but
when I say sake, we'll.
Speaker 3 (01:53:02):
Ship out your steaks. No, you know, let me pay
up and fall here, money bags, reistera nick Hey throw
a Rolex.
Speaker 2 (01:53:15):
When you said that, I've been I've been blessed and
and I and I appreciate it and I'll pay it
for and I give up.
Speaker 3 (01:53:21):
There you go. That's what we like here. The general
give you no doubt, all right, we got to close
it down in style coming up here? Which is the
better bad bet? I will explain that to you, but
it's a, I think, a random but interesting question. We'll
do that. I'm Brian, though he's George Reister. This is
(01:53:42):
Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 10 (01:53:43):
Reinehard shots, flat white cloud stick breaks centering pass kicked
away by Carlson. Five seconds a shot walks by mcnam
ring bound his loose push to.
Speaker 1 (01:53:52):
The corner and time runs out.
Speaker 6 (01:53:54):
The game is over.
Speaker 2 (01:53:57):
The night survive now, I'm big.
Speaker 10 (01:53:59):
Pile in front of the hell junction as well. His
helmet is off. Several players tackling each other. The linesman
now restrained hill. Several things are being thrown onto the ice.
As we speak. The Knights have one game four, barely surviving.
Speaker 3 (01:54:17):
I'm Brian, though he's George Reister. Here on Fox Sports Radio.
We're coming to you live from the tiraq dot com studios.

Fox Sports Las Vegas as the Golden Knights took a
three to one lead against the Florida Panthers, and then
pure hockey style, George, we just fight at the end
of that. That game, Vegas held on in what game?
Four three to two, and then they just dropped the gloves.
(01:54:59):
They started punching, pushing the whole thing. Thank goodness, Bernie
the mascot wasn't involved. He would be in more than
the er over there, the Miami Heat mascot. Who's soft?
Speaker 2 (01:55:11):
I got a.
Speaker 3 (01:55:14):
I got a question for you, George. Now, I saw
the odds for finals MVP in the NBA. It's obviously
going to be There's.
Speaker 2 (01:55:25):
Only two people that are options.
Speaker 3 (01:55:28):
Okay, so jokicch right now. The betting line is minus
six thousand, meaning he's such a massive favorite you would
have to risk six thousand dollars just to win one
hundred dollars. So Yokic is going to be the guy.
Speaker 2 (01:55:46):
Now.
Speaker 3 (01:55:46):
When they flashed who's next in order, Jamal Murray and
Jimmy Butler are both thirty to one. Okay, they're long shots.
Here's my question. We know Jokic is going to win it.
But which is the better? Bad bet? You know, if
you're betting on Jamal Murray or Jimmy Butler at this stage,
(01:56:07):
it's a terrible bet. But which is the better of
the two. Who would have a better chance of winning MVP?
Is it Jamal Murray or is it Jimmy Butler. That's
an actual question. I'm throwing your way.
Speaker 2 (01:56:19):
Jamal Murray's the better option because because at least his
team is going to win. Yeah, and if his team
is going to win, that means that he's got a
shot that I mean, he could go crazy in the
next game, you know, put up a fifty point game
(01:56:40):
or something. And remember he already had a really good
game already, so he did.
Speaker 3 (01:56:47):
Yeah, he had the thirty point triple double. He's had
ten assists at least in all four of these games.
It's pretty crazy for Jamal Murray. I'm gonna go Jimmy Butler.
Speaker 4 (01:56:56):
Now.
Speaker 3 (01:56:56):
Now, I'm not gonna spend much time on this because
it's yeah, it's never gonna come down to this, but
I would actually if I'm betting Jamal Murray or Jimmy Butler,
I'm taking a long shot to win MVP. I would
actually go Jimmy Butler just because if the Nuggets win,
it's going to be Jokic. What would it take, Like
the Heat have come back from a three to one
deficit before, Like maybe Jokic isn't peak Jokic. Remember how
(01:57:21):
he twisted his ankle the last game. Let's say he
got nicked up, but he's still out there and Miami
just I would actually go Jimmy Butler. I think he's
got a bit of a better shot, even though we
can agree both Jimmy and Jamal.
Speaker 2 (01:57:35):
No they're not. Jimmy's got no shot. His team would
need to win.
Speaker 3 (01:57:40):
Yeah, or maybe if Jokic went down. I'm not trying
to put this in the atmosphere. I'm just thinking what
it would take for Miami to actually win it. It
would be Jokic being significantly compromised or not even out there.
Speaker 2 (01:57:54):
No, No, I don't think. I mean it would take
Jimmy Butler finally, look like what everybody wants Jimmy Butler
to be, and.
Speaker 3 (01:58:04):
We haven't seen that in the finals. We have not
seen that Jimmy Butler. This over to Tomorrow night, George.
It's a rap. Oh, We're gonna see Game six with
Bernie the mascot gutting it out.
Speaker 2 (01:58:18):
I'm kind of I'm hoping for a.
Speaker 3 (01:58:20):
Longer series and I'm hoping we get to see Bernie
the Miami Heat mascot in Game six back in South Beach.
But I think it's over. I think Game five it's
a wrap. Nuggets are just too good. I've got Jokic
getting at least thirteen rebounds tomorrow night. Might have some
money on that one.
Speaker 2 (01:58:37):
George like that, Yeah, thirteen rebounds every game? I mean
that's like, is that a Nora domis?
Speaker 11 (01:58:44):
No.
Speaker 3 (01:58:45):
I think it's only happened, believe it or not, one
time so far in this series, when he erupted from
twenty one in Game three.
Speaker 2 (01:58:52):
Like he's had fifteen rebounds every game.
Speaker 3 (01:58:55):
It does, but he has not. And oh it was
so dirty last game. Remember how he twisted his ankle
and so he missed some time in the first half.
In the second half, he picked up his fifth foul,
so he was on the bension.
Speaker 2 (01:59:09):
For a while. Get closer with him on the bench.
You knew it?
Speaker 3 (01:59:12):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that is a bad, bad sign at home.
Gots to have it game for Miami no Jokic in
the fourth quarter for many minutes and they couldn't put
a dent into that lead. Yeah, it's over. Have you
enjoyed the finals though, George at all?
Speaker 2 (01:59:30):
Yes, Yes, yes I have. I have enjoyed it. It's
also been frustrating because Jimmy Butler just won't give it,
give us what we what we want.
Speaker 3 (01:59:42):
Put it into overdrive, you know, got to go for
broke over here. All right, everybody, hope you have a
good Sunday night. Enjoy Game five tomorrow night. We'll see you.
