at any event, the Angels are still battling the Rockies
as we speak. They're bigger fish to fry outside of
baseball here, and that would be trades galore in the NBA,
and most notably that would be our guy, Chris Paul.

He is on his way to the Golden State Warriors,
which I did not foresee what soever. I did not
see that coming, and it is. It's a great reminder
if it's rumored to be, there's a good chance it
won't be. That's one of the things to take away
from this. But Chris Paul a member of the Golden

State Warriors, A George Reister, happy Sunday to you. Did
you think we'd be here talking about CP I don't
know CP three alongside Steph Curry and everybody up maybe
Draymond We don't know about that. But he is going
to the bay over there as a member of the Warriors.

and for Steph Curry, he gets an opportunity to play

of screens, and I mean that sounds like a difficult
place to cover. But then you can't sag off of
CP three because he can hit three pointers and he

can score in the lane at the elbows.

He's dangerous. And then for CP three, it takes so much.

Pressure off of him because he doesn't have to be
one of your top three scores. You got Wiggins, you
got Steph and Clay, so now he doesn't. So now
his workload during the season he can be twenty four
minutes a game, which should keep him active enough and
healthy enough to where he can be healthy during the postseason.

And then they break up the Jordan pool of Draymond
Green things, so now they can bring Draymond Green back.
But the biggest and then for Jordan Poole, Jordan Poole
gets exactly what he wants to know. He gets exactly
what he wants and he's gonna come to regret it.
But sometimes you got to figure that out. Where he

wants to be the man. He wants everything, all the
trappings that you know being the man come with. He's like, listen,
I was a twenty point night, so I can do
what Steph does and then he's gonna realize.

it from that perspective because because Kyrie did want to
step away, be his own man and all that stuff.
But the difference is that is that Kyrie is one
of the seventy five greatest players of all time. Yeah,
no doubt it's Jordan Poole makes bad mistakes, bad turnovers.

playing with somebody else, great, Like if him and Lebron

They would they had, like Jordan Pippen potential in that
like Pippen is not slighted. The only reason why Pippen
gets slighted now is because he's slighting Mike. Right, people

which role do you want to play, right, Like Kyrie
wanted to play the Batman role. So I hear you.
We think of Jordan and Pippen as a tandem. You know,
we don't think of Pippen as like some Joe Schmo.
But if Pippen wanted to be Batman, if Kyrie wanted

multiple rings in the robin role that's not what Kyrie
at least desired. So I get that, But like you said,
you give it a couple of years, you look and

so much?

and you mess stuff up because Kyrie went for forty one,

thing is that they're like, we we don't feel like
we can win like that he's playing winning basketball and

He's out there playing like it's it's like you know
when you see somebody playing and like they're good playground
and not because Jordan Poole could shoot the ball. He's
got good, good handles, he's elusive, can do all those things.
He's a terrible defender, terrible but and a lot of that.

Is due to effort. So that's one thing. He's terrible
at that.

But it it feels like he's always on the no
playing plan.

is talented. I think that when he knew he was
getting ready to get get money and get paid, he

want it to align with those things. And when and
when you heard Steve Kirk come out on Draymond's podcast
and talk about the Miami heat and he said, Oh,
it's amazing what you can do when when people aren't
on the bench pouting about playing time.

Yeah, that's damning right there. Right, it's a little bit
like the I don't want to switch too much up
on you here, but it's a little bit like the
Kyler Murray situation. Right, the Arizona Cardinals quarterback. You don't
hear a whole lot of people come out and say, no, no, no,
you have it wrong. This dude is leadership defined.

I think that's the path that went down because he
never did get back on track.

something interesting that happened. Pro Football Talk had this story,
and so they basically have a sky judge in the
us FL. Okay, and so there was a critical moment
in the playoff game last night, and it leads to
a topic of does the NFL need this all? Now
here's the scenario, George. This is a playoff game to

determine who goes to the championship game.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
Oh so this is mooey.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
This is incredibly important. This is like Championship Sunday for
the NFL. Okay, it's the final four. And so Michigan
they are trailing, they're losing twenty to seventeen. There's just
over two minutes to play. They throw a fifty five
yard touchdown pass to take the lead. Okay, there's a penalty.

(19:29):
There's a face mask on an offensive lineman. But because
they have a sky judge, Mike Pereira, he reviews the penalty.
He says, oh no, that's not actually a face mask.
We reverse the call. It's a touchdown like the NFL
doesn't have that. If it's ruled a face mask, the
touchdown is negated and the offensive team they're still trailing

in the game with just over two minutes to play.
So the question is should the NFL go right down
this road? Have long been on board with the sky
judge in the NFL, George, not to fix every single
little tiny thing that isn't ruled correctly, but we got
to have something in place to fix the major stuff.
And if this is okay, Championship Sunday in the NFL

and a touchdowns negated because of a phantom face mask,
that can't be the scenario.

So with that being said, where do you think I
stand on this?

Speaker 2 (20:27):
I don't know, Because you're a maverick, George. Sometimes I
feel confident where you stand, and other times I really
don't know.

I don't know which side. Let me give you a little.

Bit of background and then you tell me what you think. Okay,
I am a I do not believe replay in general
has stopped what people thought it would, which was stop
arguing about calls because we'll be able to get them right.

I am not in favor of the expand of replay,
none of that. So so with that being said, where
would you guess I stand on this?

I think you're anti sky judge based on that. But
is there a curveball coming?

Yes, there is.

I am in on the sky judge, you I am.
I am in on retracting the replay, right.

I think that two things need to be replayed.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
I mean that that need to have that quick replay
that you don't stop the game for it, which is
turnovers in scoring plays. Those should automatically be reviewed, which
I'm good at, which I'm one hundred percent good with.
But beyond that, sky Judge, sky Judge should fix egregious errors.

And that's it.

And and sometimes it's sports. You got to just play
with your trouble. Sometimes the referees and umpires are not
going to be perfect.

And that's actually one of the things that.

I do like about the NFL that's different than college
right is that, Yeah, that's different than college football.

In that college footble, they're trying to get every single
call right. In the NFL, got play the troubles.

That's right.

Well, that's the thing is, let's start with first things first.
There will always be controversy if you don't have replay controversy.
If you have replay right now, yeah, still controversy. Even
if you have a sky judge, there will be telling.

You about yeah, the minutia, right.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
There will be times where a major call is changed
and then another call that's wrong is just left the
way it is, and it's gonna be well, why didn't
you fix that? How do you say that's not important
one yet? There's always going to be controversy. But if
you have a system in place that can correct the
obvious flaws, the complete missed ones. Think about the Saints

in the rams where there's the non call where it's
clearly pass interference, you know, just something in place where
there's a face mask that was missed.

Yeah, yeah, How how about when Armando Galarraga got his
perfect game ruin.

That's right, it should have been a perfect game.

Oh brute.

That was one of the worst that i've I mean,
Jim Jim Joyce, Yeah, oh god, that I mean, that
was so bad and I know he felt bad. I
don't think it was intentional that he just screwed up.
And there there should have been a mechanism for somebody
to be like no, he's say let's go home people.

Right, especially with it being the final out, very final
out game. Yeah, this wasn't the eighth inning or anything.
Galarraga was great handling that. But yeah, I think in
the NFL, well, cool on board. We're both on board
with the s guy.

He should get an asterisk perfect game on that one.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
He that really is a game. But you know, because
it was the last out.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
Had it had it been the first had it been
the ninth inning and that had had been the first out, Nope,
sorry sucks. But being that it was the last out,
good throw. He caught the ball like that everything needed
to happen to end the game. The I believe the
Commissioner of Baseball should have said, nope, no, that it's perfect.

It's actually a perfect game. This is what Jason Garrett,
NBC analyst. He was doing the USFL game last night, George,
and because the sky judge reversed the call, touchdown was
ruled good and Michigan took the lead. Garrett said, I
hope some NFL decision makers are watching this game because
what Mike Perera did to clean up that call, to

make sure the call was right in the critical moments
of a divisional game for the right to go to
the championship game. It just makes the game so much better,
and it's an easy mechanism. Mike Perera and the crew
handled it the right way, and there's justice. It's something
that the NFL should look at. Absolutely. I'm totally on board.

We have a different we have different arguments getting to
the sky Judge, George, but we're both at the destination
of the sky Judge. So it feels good. Feels good
to be yeah, shoulder to shoulder with you instead of
bare knuckle nineteen twenties fist fighting with you like we
tend to do every now and then. You know, feels
good to be unified from time to time. All Right,

three and the reason why they signed it to veterans
because of Perdy's injury. They wouldn't have experience in case

would be able to throw in training camp, plus you
got the preseason and so forth. So no, they're going
with Rock Party now with Kyle Shadahan said, it's very

similar to last summer, whereas Lance's job, you know, obviously
Perty came out of nowhere. Now the Dominos had to
fall Garoppolo. Had they brought Garppolo back then he got hurt.
Lance got hurt and these Domino hit. But they are

You know, it's crazy, Adam. Going into last season, we
said the three top teams in the NFC, it was
going to be the Packers, it was going to be
the defending champion Rams, and it was going to be Tampa.
And all three of those teams had losing records. It

most people would say Eagles, Niners, probably Cowboys. Of those three,

who do you think is most likely if there is
a team with a losing record, who do you think
it is out of that bunch?

they're going with Brian Johnson the Eagles are as their
OC who I know the Panthers had definitely had interest

in hiring him as their ocd if Eagles didn't promote him.
They did, and then they the Eagles brought in Sewan Deci,
who was with Seattle and was was was the Bears
defense coordinator for a year. So look, that's that's definitely
something to look at that could be a reason for concern.
Whereas with the Niners, the roster is very close to
being the same as last season. You just don't know

if Brock perty that the number one quot like if
we if once we get close to the training camp,
let's say we have like the top five questions or
top ten per conference. Can Brock Purty be a quality
started quarterback for a full season? That to me is
a top five question because that's a major issue for
the Niners. And he did it for less than half

lot of money. And they drafted a big possession receiver,
Justin Shorter from University of Florida.

So they didn't really address it very much.

So they're going with Diggs and gave Davis who you know,
talking to someone with the Bills and Davis, they really
had high hope from last season, but he had a
high ankle sprain prior to the Week two game and

They drafted a tight end the second round as first
round Dalton Cocade, who they traded up for, so they

pretty much are set and Stephan Diggs is a top
five receiver. They just can't no matter what. And by

questions about Tua based on what happened last year with
the concussions, than Josh Allen. But I'm telling you, George,

and you know this, Josh Allen plays a reckless style
of quarterback and I wouldn't be surprised if he's on
the shelf for a little bit of time. So I
think the first part of it is who remains upright
between Josh Allen and Tua, because if either of those
guys go down for four or five weeks, hopefully not
longer than that, that could swing it in that division easily.
